The item exactly matches with original filter. The original filter is type GWF "Smart Water Plus" for GE refrigerator type PSS26LGRB WW.It took hardly couple of minutes to replace the filter. We have observed the new filter for the last few weeks and we have not faced any problem so far.I have 2 GE refrigerators, both under 2 years old. I purchased 2 of these replacement filters...and an HM water meter, to see how good the the filters work. To my extreme surprise, the water filters remove nothing from the water, the contaminent levels are equal with the tap water in each of my two houses!!! I ran gallons of water through the filters and the readings never went down. So I called GE, customer service informed me there was a small chance I could have received 2 defective filters, and I should try to return them to Amazon. I tested the HM water meter on bottled water that is supposed to be very pure, and it was. Arrowhead water is at a "marginally safe tap water" level. My neighbor''s reverse osmosis worked well. (I highly recommend everyone get a water meter...especially if you are putting any kind of trust in these GE filters!).

So this is my second PUR water filter mount. Both were this same model. Right out of the package they work great. It''s not entirely necessary as our water is already clean out of the faucet, but it does remove any particulates that may reside in the distribution piping and home piping, as well as removing the chlorine residual that is in most tap water. After about a year, coincidentally just as the one year warranty expires, the valve that bridges between the faucet and the filter begins to degrade. Now even when the filter is turned off, water still flows through the valve and through the filter thereby dramatically decreasing the lifespan of the filter since water is always flowing through it. This is a POOR engineering design that should have been addressed by this company. This is the reason why I''m giving it one star. I figured my first filter was just a fluke, but this problem was confirmed yet again on my second filter. My recommendation:
1) Go for a faucet mount that you don''t have to physically turn to activate. I feel that the repetitive action of turning this up and down multiple times a day leads to premature fatigue of this product.
2) Don''t worry so much about ancillary features like lights, etc. The filter is what you should be concerned about since this is what is polishing your water.
3) Look for NSF Certification. NSF 42 is for aesthetic effects. Even better is the NSF 53 is for removing health related contaminants. NSF 58 is for reverse osmosis filters which removes even more chemicals than the 53, however I feel this is a bit overkill for a home filter.
4) Go for a product that has at least a 3 year warranty. That way you don''t have to keep spending $30+/every year on the same darn product. I''m surprised that this product has a 5 year warranty when the same model in my local Home Depot only had a one year warranty.
After doing some more research, I''ve found this product here:
Bestfilters Countertop Superior Water Filter System White with 1 Micron Carbon Block Water Filter
Price isn''t too bad and it is certified for NSF 53. The KX Matrikx PB1 filter has an ABSOLUTE pore size of 1 micron, which removes giardia and cryptosporidium as these guys are larger in size than 1 micron. Be careful of filters that claim a NOMINAL pore size of 1 micron as these can let 20-30% of particles greater than 1 micron through.
Hope this helps.

I was pleasantly surpised to see just how easily this filter installed on my kitchen faucet. Although I had great tasting water before its installation, I feel better now knowing that the water is "cleaner" than before. There are only two drawbacks that I see, namely, the filter often gets in the way when filling a pot for on the stove, and the replacement filters are not cheap---they each cost about as much as HALF the price of the original filter system. I have had my filter system for a bit more than three months, and the replacement indicator just became visible...time to spend money for a new filter cartridge!Want PUR Advanced Faucet Water Filter Chrome FM-3700B Discount?
While the filtered water from the Pur system tastes great it just isn''t worth the hassle. After trying both vertical and horizontal styles I have given up on Pur. I have been through 5 of them and none has lasted through more than 3 filters. The unit will start leaking and spraying all over the kitchen and since it is entirely plastic there is no way to repair them. I personally have had good luck with contacting Pur. Twice they replaced the unit at no cost but the replacements broke within a couple of months. But replacing shouldn''t be the answer. I don''t know what to buy next as every other brand seems to have similar problems. And the companies don''t seem to be trying to find a solution to the defects. If you watched Dr. Oz yesterday then you know that he recommends filtered water over bottled. No more expensive bottle water for me. Its Pur all the way!I have used Pur filters for many years and I too was disappointed when my most recent model leaked as mentioned by other reviewers. I decided to try to get to the bottom of the problem. Before I describe my findings I would first like to state that this pur filter is FAR superior to the Culligan filter so highly rated on Amazon. I have the Culligan version and users have no way to know when the filter needs to be replaced. It''s replaced after a specified number of months whether one runs 10 gallons or 10000 gallons of water through it. Thats not for me. I want to KNOW when my filter needs to be replace and the Pur accurately provides users with this info. In addition, the new water switching mechanism on the Pur is MUCH more smooth and effective than the Culligan.
I decided to "like" Pur on Facebook and this is what I discovered: There are, indeed, many people experiencing leakage and complaining on the FB page. Pur is very quick to respond to this on FB. The problem centers around one of the adaptors that does not have enough threads to be effective and it leaks. Pur will replace this adaptor free of charge with a more effective model. I called in and their automated phone prompts were simple, my adaptor arrived and my Pur functions flawlessly.
According to Pur, the adaptor has been replaced but some retailers (Amazon) still have the model with the older adaptor. The new adaptor is part of the currently shipping units from Pur.
I use Amazon reviews for EVERYTHING. In this case, the Pur has gotten a bit of a black eye but it is, by far, the best low priced filter available.

This product is made with cheap plastic parts. I have nothing against plastic and understand it is good for plumbing parts because it is smooth, moldable and resists rust. What I am saying is that this product is made with cheap, thin, brittle plastic. I had to return it twice. The first time a small plastic fitting was broken. Actually I''m glad it broke before I had it entirely installed. The second time I returned it for my money back. I installed the new unit only to find it was unable to withstand the water pressure when the faucet was off. A small cheap hose would come flying off and send water everywhere. This was a part that was manufactured and assembled at the factory and nothing to do with my installation. On top of this I had to go on line to the WATTS website to get assembly instructions, the unit comes with a one page completely oversimplified instruction sheet. I recommended Amazon discontinue selling this item.Read Best Reviews of Watts 500320 3-Stage Undercounter Drinking Water Filter Here

This was very easy to install and seems to be working very well. Our only concern was the marked difference in the cost of this product versus more expensive models. Water flow is great. The unit is easy to install and use. However, good luck finding a UV replacement bulb.None are listed on Amazon for this unit and it is extremely hard to find one.
Good luck on finding one. Based on this fact I would not recommend this unit to anyone.
Toastess TGK486 Cordless Glass Kettle Save 17% Off
With that said nothing annoys and frustrates me more than the taste of a tea being polluted or ruined by the introduction of foreign flavors. I have owned a number of plastic kettles most of which I am sure based on their age contained BPA and even if they didn''t often time gave a strange odor or flavor to the tea. I have also had some great stainless pots but recently (past couple of years) had to revert back to the plastic again.
I decided at Christmas 2010 that I wanted to finally get away from these and was originally looking for an all in one solution. You can imagine my delight when I saw the Breville One Touch Tea Maker and jumped at the chance of this. Long story short I got through 3 of them, the first 1 didn''t work, the second and third however had a strange odor that seemed to come from the brewing basket lid. I was really frustrated that this didn''t work out, especially with so may other great reviews of the product and the cost.
So, gave up with the all in one and went back on the search for a BPA free and ideally plastic free unit. I looked at the Hamilton Beach stainless and about every other kettle Amazon and others had including the Pino (which is the one I was going to go for). The problem was the BPA identification was either non existent or a guess even by the manufacturer !!! This blew my mind.
I found two Toastess models (1 being this one and the other being DLJK-459) and started the research here. I went for this one as the other Toastess (DLJK-459) had a plastic water window which I wanted to stay away from. I learned that the carafe on the TGK496 (this unit) was glass (in fact the same duran glass as used in the Breville carafe) had a stainless steel heating plate and absolutely no plastic touching the water when boiling. To confirm, the handle attaches on the outside of the carafe so no plastic touching there, the water marks are on the handle (on the outside) so again no BPA leaching viewing windows/water guages as used in other products. The only two pieces of plastic that exist in any proximity of the water are the lid (I know why can''t they just get rid of this and replace with Stainless steel and cool touch top etc !!) and the water filter by the spout (this can be removed if you wish). I took this one step further and looked into the lid components (just in case there were concerns about condensed water dripping back) and can report that the lid is made of Plastic #5 (PP polypropylene) which according to many health related websites poses no risks (who knows what time will show here).
So I finally found BPA free and as close to plastic free as I could and I have to say I love this kettle. Simple but great unit with a 1.7 capacity which is awesome when you have multiple tea drinkers in the house and want to fill a brown betty pot. Glass gets warm so watch out for that and power switch seems a little flimsy but those are the only small gripes.
If there was one thing I would want from this kettle and while I''m at it a please to all kettle manufacturers is to remove the plastic completely whether its touching water directly (crazy in this day and age) or from a condensing perspective, get it out of there !
Hope the information here was useful, please let me know with any questions and do yourself a favor, pickup this kettle. Its one of the few kettles that is BPA free and the closest right now to plastic free.
Go get yourself a cuppa and enjoy the purchase. Amazon as always was awesome !!!Very nice looking and works as advertised as long as you do not remove the plastic filter! It does not give off any taste or odor.
The filter is NOT mean to be removed!!! If you do remove the filter, the kettle will not shut off automatically.
From Toastess Customer Service:
"The automatic shut-off feature is triggered by the accumulation of moisture by the filter,
which should be installed on the lid so that it rests by the spout when the lid is closed."
I like using this kettle but would prefer that it be all glass including the top or if not glass then stainless steel.
All the plastic parts including the filter are made from polypropylene plastic Relatively safe but I would prefer no plastic at all.

I''ve been using these water boilers for a few years and most of them have a few of the same problems. This boiler has no problems!Pros:
-The kettle is large
-it boils fast
-the bottom is flat
-the sides are schott glass(german pyrex)
-The lid is simple open and shut with no locks to break
-The opening is large enough to get my man hands in and clean it
I use this to boil water, heat soup quickly, boil eggs, make chai. Basically if I want anything to come to a boil quickly this is my goto appliance.
Cons:
the measurements are in metric.

I just bought this pot and I LOVE it!!! It boils water in record time and it looks really nice on the counter. Your hand can easily get inside to clean it if you need to, and it''s easy to fill with water. The heating element doesn''t touch the water, and there''s nothing to corrode or rust. The manufacturer says that the minimum amount you should boil is two cups. I only need one cup boiled at a time for my tea. I have to carry my water in from another source because I live on the ocean, and while we can bathe in our household water and wash clothes, we do not drink it. Therefore, I cannot waste water at all. I wondered about the "two cups -one cup" thing. Then I read in another review that the reason the manufacturer recommends two cups is so that enough steam rises when the water boils to trigger the shut-off mechanism in the lid. So it''s not that you CAN''T boil just one cup or that it will somehow ruin the pot, it''s just that you might not be able to rely on the shut-off mechanism if you do. Well that''s no problem at all! With that knowledge in mind, I just put exactly one cup into the pot and plug it in. You know how they say that "a watched pot never boils"? Well they never saw THIS pot! You can easily stand there and manually shut it off (if you want to boil only one cup like me) because it boils UNBELIEVABLY fast. Makes a microwave look like a dinosaur! So I just boil my one cup -almost instantly -and then shut it off and make my tea. If you''re going to do it like this, don''t walk away because the water boils incredibly fast. Just be conscientious.
So far, so good. I love this pot!!
UPDATE: January 15, 2013 Still going strong! Yep, I still love it!I know some people have had success with this kettle, and I''m glad for them. Personally, I''ve had no luck with it. Like other reviewers, I find this has a faulty on/off switch. I''ve had this kettle for two months. It works well as far as heating water quickly goes...however, it no longer turns off. At all. It doesn''t matter if the water is boiling, if I try turning it off manually, nothing. What makes it even worse is that coincidentally, the handle gets super hot now as well. So unless I stand around and watch and take it off the stand as soon as the water gets hot, I will have to grab it by the superheated handle. Not good, actually dangerous. This is really a shame because it''s a good looking electric tea kettle that worked great for exactly two months..

Here''s what this 71 year old man experienced in his first week with the "POT" I used the old gold mesh filter I used on prior brewer. Makes the same very good cup of coffes as others before it. I plugged it in, yes, a short plug. filled it to 12 cups, found it much easier to fill than prior machine; Set warming time, pushed "ON" It brewed quickly, I pushed my large thick ceramic cup against the fill bar and watched it fill quickly with hot coffee! no spills, no chills. There was no dripping from the spout. Yes, there was some water vapor coming from the top of te brewer, I and my wife are having NO problems with the machine, Really, people!! This, by the way, is my first ever review of a product. I felt it necessary to respond to the bum rap this product was getting. No, I don''t work for, or own stock in H.B Co.The electrical cord is 25 inches long to the very tip of the metal prongs. Otherwise 24.5 inches cord length including the plug part you hang onto. Leaving you 24 inches for the cord itself. Our previous Brewstations all had this same length of electrical cord. This model does not have a turntable on the bottom. The only time we needed turntables were on older Brewstations that had to have the water poured into the base from a certain side to avoid spilling or to aid in viewing the fill level markings. This model has ALL the previous fill markings and some new ones. Very handy for older eyes. The MAXIMUM coffee mug height is 7 inches if you hold the mug vertically. (If you hold your mug at a angle and use your finger to dispense against the mechansim you can fill anything.) 7 inches is plenty tall for all the standard travel/commute mugs holding 16 oz. The lid does dribble all over the place when you take the Brewstation apart for cleaning or making another pot. Just remember to lift the lid slowly and tap it with vibration as you open it. You will leave condensation water from the lid running down the back of the Brewstation about the volume of a 50 cent piece. The lid cannot be removed. You can wipe up the spilled water by simply running a sponge, papertowel, etc around the back. Remember, this is water and not coffee. If you position a papertowel at the hinge you prevent problems. The Brewstation does dispense/dribble down the back of your coffee mug once in awhile. The first time you notice this and before your next pot of coffee you clean the pot out and then fill with a few inches of clean water, lift the pot so you can see under it where the coffee dispenses and manually trigger the release mechanism to allow it to flush coffee grinds out. End of dribbling. There is a domed filter screen permanently attached at the point where the coffee leaves during dispensing. This lets small particles of coffee get by apparently get into the valve seat. Brewstations make GREAT coffee. House guests almost always end up buying their own. ALWAYS buy the latest model Brewstation with the highest numberic model number as you get the latest features that way and improvements and fixes. LOVE the Brewstation.

Purchased to replace our Brewstation Deluxe, which we absolutely loved! The only reason we did not purchase another one exactly like our old one is because of the leaking problem. About 1x/year we would need to replace the ''carafe'' portion of the coffeemaker. The Summit was the 3rd replacement model we tried. It is the only other model that has all of the features that the Deluxe had (programmable auto shut-off & timer, brewing cycle selection). I agree with the previous post that it is a bit more awkward to fill. But, the biggest problem I have with it is the coffee basket. It has about 50 holes in the bottom for the water/coffee to flow out of the basket. The result is a very weak-tasting coffee because it flows through so quickly. I can''t understand why this model is made like this when other models have only one hole! There is no way to even use enough coffee to get a strong flavor, even when putting it on ''Bold'' setting, which slows down the brewing cycle. I figured out how to solve this problem by purchasing a permanent filter basket to use inside the other basket, plus using a paper filter. This adds to the awkwardness of the whole process, but we are so hooked on this style of machine that are willing to put up with it. It is also messier than the Deluxe because of all of the condensation inside. When you lift the lid water runs down (but mostly back into the carafe), and when you take out the basket there is condensation all over it and it drips trying to get it to the trash or sink. I also just noticed one of the buttons to set the time is sticking. Well, maybe I should go back to the Deluxe...Read Best Reviews of Hamilton Beach 48464 Brewstation Summit 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Here
I''m a mother of three kids, ages 6 and under, so needless to say, coffee has become pretty important around our house! My brother-in-law has an older model of the brewstation, and I have always loved using it at their house. I love that it has no carafe to clean or break, and the unit itself only needs to be cleaned once a month. My coffee is always piping hot, and stays hot for up to 4 hours after brewing. The program feature works great every time. And I''m really not sure why so many people are having problems getting the coffee from the spout into their cups. I have never had even a drip of coffee spill while filling my mug. I tend to be a slow coffee drinker, and use a travel mug most of the time. Even with a thick walled mug I have not experienced any problems.
I have had some condensation water spill when I lift the lid, but I had that with my old coffee pot, too. And being in the kitchen, I grab a towel or a sponge and just wipe it up. Not a problem, in my opinion.
I am having trouble understanding why the brewstation is getting such poor reviews. I''d give it more than 5 stars if I could. I really love it that much!

Ok, so I did some research before buying this at my local target. Wow. There are so many negative reviews, that I almost didn''t buy it. I wanted something that can do Ice Coffee, hot Coffee. So I ignored the negative reviews, and went with this one. I''m totally shocked at how people can be so damn picky. First off. This does everything I need it to. Some of the complaints were the spout to close to the back of the maker, so it drips? How thick of mugs are you using people? I have never had any problems with the design. I have ZERO drips in the drip catcher.I love how easy it is. It''s super convenient to use. I love that the "bucket" comes out to fill it with ice. That''s awesome. I love how easily it is to fill a cup up without the pot. Of course when it''s low (under 2 cups) it''s going to pour out slow. It''s gravity that is making this pour. So when it''s low. It''s less pressure/gravity people.
I hate people that want the quality of a 200 coffee maker, for 50 bucks. Imagine why our economy is so bad, you cheap butts!
I love this coffee maker. I think the price is awesome. But I wasn''t expecting much after all these reviews. But I have to say. This is an awesome coffee maker. I''ve had it over a month and there hasn''t been one thing I hate about it.
Enjoy!
Briel ES161ACTB Domus Due Save 27% Off
I have purchased three Briel machines. Two Chamonix models and one higher end Due (costing approx. $300).
My experience with all has been similar. The machines produce a beautiful product. But only for a matter of months. Then, for one reason or another, they break down. The quality of manufacture is mixed or poor.
Nevertheless, I have shelled out $160 $175 for one Chamonix machine that lasted a year, and another similar amount for a second one that lasted about the same.
And then, like Charlie Brown trying to kick that football and having it be pulled away by Lucy every single time, I hopefully purchase a new machine. This last time I purchased a Due, costing almost twice the price of a Chamonix, hoping perhaps that it would be more enduring.
The Due broke after six months. The pressure guage which for the first six months registered a consistent 11 13 bar every time would no longer climb above 6 bar. The coffee was weak and watery. I ordered a new crema filter at my own expense from Electra-Craft, the exclusive East Coast servicer for Briel products. That made no difference. I changed the grind every which way. I changed the tamping every which way. I sent the machine in to Electra-Craft for repair, paying for the shipping at my own expense and then paying Electra-Craft for the return shipping. I tried putting in a new filter basket, borrowing one from the Briel graveyard that is in my basement.
Electra-Craft said the machine was fine, according to their standards. They say that, although the pump is warranted, the fact that the gauge will not climb above 5 6 bar does not indicate a pump failure.
I followed up with a telephone call. Spoke with a technician. No help.
I followed up with another call. Another technician. No help. They gave me the name of a supervisor, Frank.
I wrote to supervisor Frank, I explained all of the above, that I was a repeat Briel customer, that I had spent hours tuning the machine. That the performance was no longer proper and asking, please, what can you do to fix the situation.
Briel wrote back to explain that the machine is fine and that if I were to send the machine back for repair a second time, they would impose an additional service charge on me.
I now have one more Briel corpse in my basement. And in the meantime have swelled Starbucks''s coffers during the period that I spent trying to deal with this problem and being unable to use my expensive Briel paperweight.
Briel would be well served were it to replace Electra-Craft as their service provider.
If these machines were built to last at all, they would be perfect, and would merit 5 stars easily. Buy a Briel product only if you are willing to buy another, and another, and another, as each prematurely breaks one after another. Don''t bother with shipping a unit to Electra-Craft particularly because the terms of the limited warranty require you to pay for shipping both ways. Save the shippingt cost and invest it in another machine.
I, however, will never buy another Briel. This wa my 4th esspresso machine and my second Briel. I loved this machine when I first got it > It made great coffee rich, creamy and even looks good on your counter. Well that being said after 8 months water started dripping from the head unit occasionally until it became impossible to make coffee without water leaking everywhere spoiling any chance of enjoying a cup of espresso.
I would avoid this machine if you dont like headaches.

This was my first espresso machine. It ran beautifully for about 2 months then water started leaking from the steam wand while pulling shots. Paid $30 shipping ($15 each way) to repair center on East coast).they replaced the pump &after 4 weeks got it back...It ran for 4 weeks before it started to leak water from steam wand again while making shots(losing 4 ounces of hot water to every 1 ounce of espresso made). Sent it back to East Coast repair center...Paid $15 in shipping & they paid return shipping since their repair failed. After 3 weeks got it back again with the steam pump replaced. It worked for about 4 weeks and then guess what?? Yup!! it started leaking from the steam wand again. Called the East Coast repair center and told them I wanted a different machine cause this one was a lemon...After passing me around to different service people for 2 weeks I was finally told to call Steve the owner...I was then told that this machine was not under warranty because the Amazon seller I bought from was a secondary seller and not recognized as a Briel "authorized" dealer. Thank God I had taken out a "Square Trade Warranty" when I bought this machine. Square Trade refunded me the cost of the machine less the shipping cost. All this does have a happy ending...I found a Delonghi Magnifica semi-automatic on Craigslist for $75 that has carried me through and past the Briel nightmare. My father-in-law needed a cleaner to wash my deck off with I handed him the ZUD. After a quick scrub my deck was spotless!! He asked me, "what is this ZUD cleaner??!! It is absolutely amazing!!" No joke he has seen it all living on a farm, building boats, etc. and says this is the best cleaner EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I can breath a little easier knowing it still exists!!!!!!!!!

I was looking for a cleaner for my tub and found this under my kitchen sink. Honestly, I looked at the container and didn''t think it would work, but after using Tilex and scrubbing for a half an hour, I didn''t think it would hurt to try. I''ve never seen my bathtub so clean!! It is honestly the most amazing product I''ve ever used!Read Best Reviews of Zud Heavy Duty Cleanser Powder: 16 OZ Here
(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)(TOP 10 REVIEWER)I have had back problems for several years and have not been able to scrub my tub. It has been a year since my back surgery, and recently I felt well enough to attend to my tub that badly needed cleaning. I was looking for a powder cleaner as I knew the job ahead of me will be tough. What attracted to me to Zud is the description said not to rub too hard as it does a the job with mild scrubbing, this is important because my back is still pretty fragile.Zud arrived in a nice large container (photo attached with a pen next to it for size reference). I was disappointed that it did not come with a removable cover, as some other powder cleaners. Once you remove the adhesive strip from the top of the container, you are left with holes wide open. To re-close the container I had to use packing tape. Otherwise you are risking spilling the entire content of the package if the package gets knocked over.
I am attaching the pictures of my tub before and after the cleaning. As you can see the stain is not entirely gone. Improved, but not gone. I worked on the stain for 30 minutes. I started with a mild cloth and gentle rubbing. Then a more stiff brush. And I scrubbed hard. Very hard. For 30 minutes. The good news is that the powder did not scratch the surface of my plastic tub even with hard rubbing, however as you can see the stain is still visible. I plan to repeat the scrubbing again, perhaps the repeated applications will work eventually.
Zud did not work as well as I hoped and certainly light scrubbing was not enough.
Ali Julia reviewZUD was a miracle. I was living with a hugely, deeply rust-stained bath tub for 3 years (it was in that condition when I bought the place). I think the tub is fiberglass. I tried bleach, which was a big mistake. Over time the bleach slowly added new yellow stains to the orange rust stains that were already there). I tried tilex, comet, baking soda, vinegar, even Tide with bleach alternative -you name it. I thought it was hopeless. What worked a bit was the baking soda, by the way. I just continued to cover the stains up with the biggest tub mat I could find and looked into whether re-finishing the tub was an option. Finally I did some internet research and discovered ZUD. It completely eliminated the stains -ALL the stains -the deep orange rust stains as well as the yellow stains from the bleach -all of which were there for at least 2 years. The tub looks like new!!! I''m pinching myself to make sure it''s real. I could kick myself for not having seriously researched the stains long ago and discovering ZUD.
