E-Cloth Window Cleaning Cloths Save 42% Off

E-Cloth Window Cleaning Pack, 2-CountI purchased these at a local floral/gift store and was blown away with how well they clean. I live in the country and constantly have dirt on my windows. It is so easy just to wet the light green cloth and quickly wipe the window and finish with the polishing cloth(dark green). I would never go back to paper towels or newspaper and window cleaner. These are fast and easy!

I bought these cloths because a neighbor recommended them . They are fantastic! They are the only product I''ve ever had that actually gets the film off the inside of car windows and I''ve tried many.

I cannot believe how great this little cloth cleans windows. I tried it with rinsing the e-cloth in cold water and just wiped inside and out of my picture window and other windows in my house. No streaks! It makes window cleaning a breeze. I didn''t even wipe them dry and there are no streaks.

Easy as pie and really works without chemicals, he told her. Always looking for the ultimate window washing product, I decided to buy the E-Cloth Window Cleaning Pack. I got home and tried it and was stunned by the results. Clean windows, almost as if by magic. And best of all, NO streaks; just sparkling windows. The best product out there to clean windows. That''s the first time, a filter do make me feel a difference between soft and hard water.

I don''t even want to get out from the shower after I use this product. It''s an amazing experience and worth all it cost.

Especially I don''t have to scarify the time/water amount for the good quality of water.

After gone through this product, the water becomes so pure, clean and clear that it''s so tempting to use it as drinking water. I''m a picky person, and only drink "Smart Water" as I just can''t stand the taste of the other type of water, especially the tap water even after filtered. So, you can see how good this product is!!! It "tastes" as good as the "Smart Water".

Melitta Cone Filter Coffeemaker 10 Cup

Melitta Cone Filter Coffeemaker 10 Cup, 1-CountAfter my last coffee maker died (the fourth or fifth one in just eight years), I was sick of the electric coffee pot. This very simple set-up was inexpensive and doesn''t have any electrical parts to break.

The best thing, though, is that this makes the best coffee ever. Seriously. Here''s the method: I grind my beans right before brewing. I pour boiling water over the grounds, just enough to soak them. Then I pour again to fill the filter with water. And I stir with a spoon. Pour and stir, pour and stir, until all the water has gone through. Simple, easy, and amazingly good coffee. It''s way better than anything I got from my overpriced electrical machines.

As a kid in the 70s and 80s, my parents had one of these. Not being a coffee drinker, I always thought it was embarrassingly low tech. Now that I''m an adult (though still not a big coffee drinker), I wanted something inexpensive that wouldn''t take up a lot of counter space, would be easy to care for and would make decent coffee. After looking at various options, I finally settled on this one, and I''m glad I did. Not only does it work perfectly well, as advertised, it also makes great-tasting coffee (which is more than I can say about the little stovetop percolator I tried before investing in this one). It''s also easy to store in my cabinet when not in use.

Two additional notes: The coffee maker calls for size 6 filters, and those are great to have when you''re making a full pot. But if you''re just making coffee for 2-3 people, I''ve found size 4 filters work fine, and they''re cheaper and easier to come by. I''ve also found that the coffee filter cone will also work with an insulated carafe I bought separately.

We''ve used one of these for years and love the simplicity and the quality of the coffee. I was quite upset when we left our last one behind while on vacation, but found them for sale here on Amazon. The biggest problem with them is finding the No. 6 filters if you need to make more than a couple of cups they are almost impossible to find in any of our local stores. You can find the No. 4 filters, which will do two large cups, but that is all. If you come across the No. 6 size, you had better stock up.

This makes far better coffee than my old Gevalia coffeemaker (the freebie they send when you sign up for their mail-order club.) I''m able to control the temperature of the water which I believe is the most important factor in making a great cup of joe. I pour the water in at just under boiling and keep the kettle on the heat while I''m brewing so that when I add more water it is the correct temperature -I try to maintain about 205degrees throughout. It''s simple and it works. It''d be perfect if the glass carafe were replaced with a thermal carafe, with a small ''window'' for checking water level. However, thermal carafes are widely available (I use the one that came with my Gevalia coffeemaker) so this is a minor complaint. Outside of a French Press, this makes the best-tasting coffee of any method I''ve tried (I haven''t tried cold brew yet, but have done percolators, auto-drip, press, and vacuum.) Another small complaint is that the instructions are a little vague -if you really want to make a great cup of coffee, experiment with the amount of coffee (should be about 2t per cup), grind (I use fine with the manual drip) and water temperature (about 200-210) and, of course, bean and roast (I like a moderate to light roast as unhip as that sounds, I believe the coffee flavor is more complex and, well, tasty, with these roasts.) Highly recommended.

The Melitta was a product that I looked for in stores for years. Of course I found it on Amazon. So simple, so fast, so great. I''d recommend this over any fancy electric coffee maker.

I just received this vac from Amazon and already I love it!

Extremely well made and light weight.

Powerful vac and the back end is a "blower".

The blower part is not as powerful as the blowers

the gardeners use but can be quite useful in certain

situations.

As one reviewer mentioned, the flexible hose and

extra filters are not sold on Amazon.

I found both the 3'' and 6'' flexible hoses and

extra filter bags at AutoGeek (dot) net.

I would recommend this vac to anyone wanting

an excellent hand vac.

Pleased with the product. It is more powerful than the other rechargeable portables that I have. The length of the electrical cord is sufficient to reach the extreme corners of my motorhome from the mid outlet. I like the fact that it has a stainless steel body and not plastic.

This vacuum has great design and SUPER suction. The cord is nice and long a big plus. We use it to suck up dirt, ash and wood particles around the hearth of our wood burning stove (obviously NOT hot ash)--and for the stairway and will also be using it to clean inside our cars. Would give it 5 stars but wish the paper-type filter held a bit more and was washable and permanent (i.e., nylon or metal fine mesh)instead of needing to order filters although you CAN empty and re-use the filter several times as is and two filters come with the vacuum. We really love it and are very pleased with the purchase. It''s a terrific vacuum!

I bought this vacuum to replace my Dirt Devil. I am a professional auto detailer and wanted something powerful, yet small. I got tired of lugging around the house sized canister. The battery rechargable vacuums on the market don''t have enough power for my needs. I was quite surprised to find that it actually cleaned the interior of the car with vigor! Compact and easy to use, sturdy as well. Love the stainless steel design.

The only drawback for me is that the steel body gets hot to the touch after being on for a bit. if you are not using it for work and just picking up a little mess in the house or doing the stairs, this probably won''t be an issue. Also, I will have to empty the bag more on such a small vacuum. I plan to buy the reusable cloth bag to save money on purchasing throwaway bags. Moreover, I am purchasing the shoulder strap Metro Vac sells on their web site to solve the problem of the vacuum body getting hot to my touch. That, along with the flexible hose, will keep me from having to constantly touch the vacuum while using. These issues don''t keep me from giving it 5 stars or from recommending this product to others. On top of all the good stuff, it is made in the U.S.A!

Purenex Nickel Countertop Water Filter

Purenex Nickel Countertop Water FilterI''m not quite sure how this thing works, but it does. Easy install of the diverter from the faucet with no leaks. After a few weeks of running it, it lost any unpleasant taste and was producing pretty good water. A big plus here is flow rate. The filtered water comes out fast -you can fill a bottle in seconds. This is a key advantage for me. Even the regular tap (unfiltered) comes through pretty fast.

So what are the down sides? I can''t quite come to terms with a filter that only needs to be changed once a year. Doesn''t all that standing around in water produce bad stuff (who knows what bacteria?) This is just a worry. Nothing specific.

Second, the "burn in" period for the filter lasts a while. My wife wouldn''t drink the water for a week to two weeks. Granted, she''s very picky when it comes to water, but then we should be! It did take a few weeks for the bad taste to go away. When it came time to replace the filter for me, I didn''t really want to go through another 2 weeks of flushing the filter.

More important, if you do get this filter, then be sure you keep the widget they send to help you open the filter case to change the filter very carefully (sort of looks like a screw driver with out the bit at the end). I lost this and didn''t succeed in using anything else in its place.

More recently, I bought a WaterChef C7000 Premium Countertop Water Filter, and would have to conclude it is better in every way, but one -price (twice as expensive... ouch). That filter started tasting fine after 15 minutes of flushing. The filter is rated at 3 microns rather than 5 for the Purenex. There is a use-based light that tells you when to change the filter. The diverter valve automatically reverts to tap water after use (a very handy feature). The unit itself is better designed so you can place it to the right or left of your faucet (the hose enters at the base from either direction). The downside of the WaterChef is that it is twice as expensive. But having owned both, I think it''s worth the price. In the theory the filter lasts almost twice as long, but more importantly the water out tasting better.

So far I''m sold on the WaterChef and would avoid the Purenex. Having said that taste is very personal, so this one might work for you.

ZeroWater Replacement Filter

ZeroWater Replacement Filter
  • 5-Stage Ion Exchange
  • Replacement Water Filter
  • 4-Pack

I''ve been using a ZeroWater dispenser for over 2 years now, and was quite pleased with the taste and ease of use. Sadly, I''m now in the market for an alternative. Why? Because Zerowater''s filters have changed dramatically.

Where in the past, a filter would last about 4-5 months, and filter water relatively quickly into the dispenser, the new ones are smaller, last only about a month (!) and sometimes even overnight, water does not flow through the filter I''ve had to hold the portion of the container with filter screwed in above the water line to see it flow only to then see a bubble form when placing it in the water.

Also the measuring device (that tells you whether it''s time to change the filter or not) does not last forever -no batteries to replace; I suppose you have to purchase another one.

Ah, capitalism! Really disappointed but they are in it for the profit.

Royal SE 2800 Hand-Held Spot Cleaner

Royal SE 2800 Hand-Held Spot Cleaner
  • Rotating Scrub brush for gentle deep cleaning for spots and stains.
  • Long 20" Cord.
  • provides continuous vacuum power to quickly clean and dry carpets and upolstery.
  • Compact design.
  • Makes it quick and easy to use.

Looking at a number of previous reviews, I''d like to clarify a few points:

* It''s not a carpet cleaner, it''s a _spot scrubber_. Anyone purchasing a machine with a single brush who expects to clean whole sections of carpet deserves all the self-inflicted frustration they''ve expressed here. My father-in-law tried to use our scrubber to clean his entire entryway. His verdict: "The thing is worthless." My wife and I just roll our eyes.

* The spray nozzle shoots out lots of solution in a narrow, focused pattern, perfect for treating _spots_. It takes only a few pumps. The image of someone stalking around a room trying to spray anything more than about 20 inches square (again, anything more than a _spot_) is just painful.

* The thing sucks strongly enough to fill the dirty water reservoir. I suspect that some folks haven''t cracked the manual or noticed the yellow knob to switch between scrubbing and suction.

All that said, I hate to think of living without this machine. We''ve used it suck up spills and to erase the stains left by our cats and by our son with a permanent "Sharpie" marker. You can actually watch the cat puke (or worse) get sucked up. I always felt a little uncertain when attacking stains like this with a towel or sponge. How can anyone armed with a squirt bottle and a brush believe they''re doing anything more than just smearing the stain into the carpet?

I like the extra-long cord. The rotating brush may seem a little weak, but stains really do disappear under it.

What I don''t like so much is that the unit can be difficult to clean, leaving ugly stuff in the intake and waste reservoir. All the reservoirs and caps and switches can get a bit fiddly as well. And it does sound more like a jet engine than a vacuum.

The Spot Scrubber isn''t perfect (4 out of 5 stars), but it''s small, works very well for us, and has exceeded my (realistic) expectations.

I purchased this product based on the reviews I saw on Amazon. I wanted it for removing cat throw-up from my carpet

(when my cat eats too fast). I don''t know how people could think this is an excellent product unless they are using it on a tan or dark colored rug (that matches the color of the original stain)! I used it on my brand new, very expensive, WHITE carpetand I can GUARANTEE you, it:

1) Does NOT do a good or complete job of getting stains up

2) Leaves A LOT of WATER ON THE RUG which will delaminate your

carpet. This is not good ask any carpet professional.

3) The machine does not rinse -it just puts soapy water down, scrubs it, then does a lousy job of vacuming up (thus leaving) whatever (now diluted) stain (cat barf)+ carpet shampoo that was originally put down on your carpet by your cat, etc. and now the machine.

4) FYI, you need to use a phillips head screwdriver [a local store]. If you want something that really takes stains out, use OXI-CLEAN. You can get it at [local stores] and lots of other places. You still have to dry the carpet by hand (like you do with the product I am returning) but at least when your''re done, the carpet is clean and sanitized!!! And there is no machine to take apart afterwards.

IF YOU DO DECIDE TO BUY ONE OF THESE, SAVE THE RECEIPT!

This little spot-scrubber is one hard-working device! I really put it to the test on some ground-in carpet stains, and was astonished to see what a great cleaning job it did. On one "tank" of hot water, I found that I could clean about four square feet of very soiled carpet -before the dirty water needed to be emptied, and the clean water container needed to be refilled. While this small carpet cleaner can''t easily clean the carpet of an entire room, it sure can clean up just about every small spill you might have!

The Dirt Devil is fun to use, because it works so well and the results show up so quickly! It comes with a nice starter supply of cleaning solution and operating instructions. The directions for filling, emptying, and cleaning the unit are clear and easy to follow. I found the length of the electrical cord to be just right for my needs, but I can see that there might be times when an extension cord would be required to reach places far from any outlet.

I highly recommend the Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber to anyone who needs a small carpet cleaning machine which does an excellent job, is easy to store, and is lots of fun to use.

This little vac does exactly what it''s supposed to.

Important to note:

This vac has two settings, scrub and vacuum. If you have the switch set to scrub, it''s NOT SUPPOSED to vacuum. I strongly suspect that''s why these other reviewers are having trouble with it. I had the cordless Bissell Spotlifter prior to this, and this vac does a much better job.

And if you empty the dirty water tank when you''re supposed to, you won''t have any trouble with that either.

When looking to purchase, I compared this vac to the Bissell SpotLifter (the corded one) because I was pretty happy with my old Bissell, but the Bissell is big and awkward to work. On the Bissell, you have to spray and hold the unit flat against the floor to scrub, and then you have to tilt the unit at a pretty good angle to get it to vacuum. No thanks. On the Dirt Devil, you set the switch to scrub, spray the spot and go over it a few times, set the switch to vacuum, go over a few times. Viola... No more spot and no awkward tilting to get just the right angle.

Also, another reviewer wrote in the Bissell reviews that the Dirt Devil only holds six ounces of liquid. Not so. I just measured it, and it holds nine ounces.

This is the first review I''ve ever written in my whole life, but I felt compelled to jump to the defense of this little vac. It''s getting a bad rap because people aren''t reading the instructions.

If your vac isn''t vacuuming, set the switch to vacuum. (Crazy, huh?)

I received this for a birthday present and Its the BEST! I have 1 Dog, 1 cat, 4 rats, a 10 year old, and a hubby that works on cars on his days off. Its removed mud, grease, oil, cat stains, rat stains and paw prints on my tan carpet. It removed stains on an old couch, and a stain that was here when we moved in. That stain has been worked on by a professional carpet cleaner! I love this thing, My only complaint would be the cleaning solution compartment is too small, BUT as a fellow reveiwer mentioned, a spray bottle works great! I love this product

The replacement cartridge came with clear instructions for removal of the original cartridge and installation of the replacement. One extra step that I had to add myself to avoid leaks was to apply some Dow Corning 111 valve lubricant and sealant to the O-ring (it is safe for plastics and rubber) prior to installing the new cartridge. So far there have been no leaks.

A couple of cautions -when releasing the water pressure via the valve on top of the housing it helps to put a towel on the housing, to avoid spraying yourself and the walls with water. Also, when removing the bottom portion of the housing there will be a water spill, so have something ready below to catch it, and roll up your sleeves otherwise they will be wet.

KitchenAid KCM5WFP Universal Water Filter Pods

KitchenAid KCM5WFP Universal Water Filter PodsAt first, I was dissappointed that seemingly the filter housing/water level measure was no longer available and then found out it came apart and all I had to do was replace the filter. The coffee tasted noticeably better once the filter was changed. This was a cost efficient alternative and now I don''t need to buy a new coffee maker.

I think these work in the very early models of Kitchen-Aid coffee makers because I can''t find them anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised to find them on Amazon of all places.

I purchased one these 10 Gallon Coolers for the all grain process of brewing of beer. I''m confident it would work well for other applications such as holding water, lemonade, etc. I''ve used this several times with liquid ranging from 100 to 170 degrees farenheit with no problems. I did replace the spigot with a high end stainless steel one to attach 3/4 inch tubing to it. It was very easy to both remove the old spigot and put a new one on. The lid is a little funky, but it spins on and off pretty easily. It has a very durable feel to it, and I believe this is the same model that many home brew shops sell. Overall it''s a simple, but great product.

Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker Save 13% Off

Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker, Stainless SteelI love this coffee pot! I bought it before reading the negative reviews of most Mr. Coffee makers and was a littler nervous when I read all the bad things. I have owned it for several months now.

My coffee pot never leaks when I pour it. I can remove the pot while it is still brewing and pour myself a cup. The programable feature works great. The filter holder is removable, so it is easy to keep clean. Also, the top of the coffee pot itself snaps off so the whole thing fits in the dishwasher very nicely. I used the water filter for a while and then stopped because it was just one more thing to clean everyday, and we have pretty good water where I live. Also, I don''t use the reusable filter because I don''t like the sludgy taste it gives my coffee. I prefer disposable filters. Also, the cord can be tucked inside the back of the machine, so you don''t have extra cord length lying all over your counter. I scoot my coffee maker right back to the plug so I only need a short length of cord...the rest is tucked nicely in the back of the unit.

My favorite feature of this coffee pot is that when it is done brewing it gives two nice beeps. It wakes me up in the morning and motivates me to get up because I know my coffee is ready and waiting!

I would recommend this coffee maker to anyone!

This is the WORST COFFEE MAKER EVER DESIGNED. All it does is make steam and noise. When we put in 12 cups of water, it now only makes 6 cups of coffee. Regularly makes 4-6 cups of coffee less than the amount of water we put in. The rest of the water just comes out the top. I will never purchase a Mr. Coffee product ever again.

I have had a different Mr C model (FTX23) for several years now, and with a home addition needed another coffee maker. I did not want to spend a fortune, but wanted some extra features, such as brewing strength selection -so, I decided on the JWX31. The carafe has not leaked -even when pouring all of the water into the machine. The pause and serve function has worked great so far. The fresh brew timer is nice so you can keep track of how long your coffee has been brewed and sitting on the burner. The design is very sleek and functional -very easy to use. The negatives posted here are from user-error --just read the instructions!! First, it tells you that it will brew about 1 cup less than the actual amount of water put into the machine --just add an extra cup of water when brewing! Also, when cleaning, it tells you that it will brew about 1/2 of the mixture immediately and then it will pause for about 30 minutes or so and then it will brew the rest of the solution. The only things I do not like are the beeping it makes after brewing -there should be an off button for this, and the burner temperature cannot be changed ---the FTX23 model has both of these functions -BTW, I read the reviews on here about the FTX23 model and I only had a small amount of water around the base of that maker and I had it for years with no other problems. I actually still don''t know if it was from spilling when pouring water into the machine or from an actual leak -it brewed the right amount of coffee each time. Overall, this maker -the JWX31 -is a great coffee maker at a great price --I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond whose initial price was cheaper than Amazon and even better with their coupons.

Pouring coffee out of a carafe is not rocket science. If you open the lid while pouring it, it is going to spill. Therefore, don''t open the lid while pouring. They put it there for a reason ya know! Also, every coffee maker uses more water than you put in, so just add a little extra. The Cuisinart that I just replaced used about an extra cup, this one does too, it doesn''t take a genius to know that when water is hot it evaporates. This coffee maker works great, the only people who would give it one star are the ones that probably shouldn''t be using a coffeemaker in the first place!

The Perfect Steam Professional Commercial Garment Steamer

The Perfect Steam Professional Commercial Garment Steamer is Designed for Professional Cleaning Services & Heavy-Duty Home Users!WeLL, if you are reading this then I know you must be a part of that community, turned into a tribe, a cult of people looking high & low for that perfect steamer that first didn''t cost an ARM & A Leg & part of your rent that you could actually afford and that actually works.

Well, your search is over; THIS IS IT.

Now for those of you who think $99 is too much-well you DO HAVE to SPEND some money for a generally well-made, thought out design.

The rest of us know that a lot of upright garmet steamers can & do cost $150-$400! so, let me tell you why I like this particular steamer.

#1: It relatively easy to set up. Just read the instructions (2) pages & look at the little diagrams..had I''d heeded my OWN Advice & not been so pig headed; I would of realize that the second adjustable bar was actually within the first one & it telescoped out to Any desired height that you want.

#2: There is an DEFINITE ON Switch that''s located at the base that you must step on it like a vaccum cleaner lever to turn the machine on.

#3: The handle is simply activated by pressing the word ''STEAM''. You will then see these little hash marks indicating the levels of steam that you want.

#4: It has a large water well size (1/2 gallon milk) but it is SO EASY TO lift up and fill-you don''t need to drag the whole machine over.

#5: It can last for 3 WHOLE Hours!, I kid you not!

#6: And Steam it does! It''s not one of those pitiful hand held models that spit and spit and run out in 10 minutes (Joy Mangano) And it''s not a handheld that although it make chuck & ruck it really only has uncontrolled steam for the first 2 minutes before it dies off (Shark-Euro Pro household clean steamer) and you have to wait before it can build up enough steam to actually be able to use it again & by then it''s run out of water.

And it''s not like that other Shark-Euro Pro Steam Press that will kill your arm because it''s so heavy & spits.

#7:The thing that I like the most is the adjustable steam features: It only delivered steam when & where you''d wanted it.

I took the most crumpled ALL COTTON shirt & I was amazed at seeing how easily the wrinkles melted away & this steamer got hot enough to allow for creases to made easily (there''s even a creasing tool).

But what I LIKE THE MOST was putting the little cloth boot on the head, dialing down the steam & using it over those ''princess'' skirts. It was like butter. Right over those little mini colored plastic rhinestones, colored stones, woods, all sort of nifty embellishment. And I still had more than 1/2 of the water tank filled!

I did 4 skirts, 1 blouse, 1 pr. of linen pants! All, in one session! This machine has just paid for itself in the time & money it would of cost me going to the dry cleaners!

I know I must sound ''giddy'' but it''s so nice to have something that ACTUALLY WORKS!

And, Oh1 I forgot to tell you that it has clips at the top & Bottom to hold the garment snugly eliminating the need for a ''press board'' but be cautioned! Until you get the hang of it, you might to use a ovennglove on one hand because it can really steam your garments hot! (a litte ouch after the pants!)

***Alhough this machine says that is made for by HoMedics; some of the newer models might have a label on the top & side of the box that reads "Home Touch"... if you''d look at the very bottom of the box on it''s south in, you will find the HoMedics brand listed).

I would so much like to recommend this product, but I am rather compelled to advise against anyone purchasing this device. When it works, it works very well. The very first order, I received a machine that simply did not work. Having to repackage and return it was hassle enough, but I went ahead and ordered another. The second machine did work as promised, but the on/off switch has been wonky from day one. Now it seems that I will be returning this second machine as the on/off switch has given up the ghost altogether. What a hassle! It is too bad, I could definitely chalk up the first to dumb luck, but when a second purchase brings another set of problems, it is a bit too much.

***6-month update** October 2011

I''m still very satisfied with the steamer. All below is still true. It still produces a strong flow of steam. The only problem is that it spits water droplets when steaming. Not a problem per se for me, it dries, but I can see if you had to wear a shirt in public right after steaming, it would show wet spots. Another reviewer tried using the cloth cover; that sounds like a good idea. I think I need to use vinegar to clean it to see if it helps. I use reverse-osmosis water from our in-house system.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 2011 (below)

We''ve used our Tobi steamer for 3 years, but needed an upgrade. I wanted not to drink from the water fountain, but from the fire hydrant (not literally ;). I looked and looked for something with the steam output Tim Taylor would be proud of. And, I found it with this garment steamer. The key words are: "pressurized steam." I just opened the box and used it for the first time. I love it. Compared to the Tobi this thing really melts the wrinkles-fast. It has many nice features.

The pluses:

1. steam, steam, steam (controlled steam output)

2. on/off steam button

3. solid base (not going to tip over)

4. nice-sized water tank

5. compartment for attachments

6. good height

7. automatic shut off I can''t tell you have many times we''ve left the Tobi on, now no worries.

Minuses (really minor):

1. didn''t care for the garment "hanger." But, it still has a hook to hang your clothes hanger on, when you''re done with the front, just flip it over to do the back.

2. some plastic parts

So far so good. I''ll try to add an update in 60 days.

This is a great steamer that does the job it''s supposed to do. I love that I''m able to turn the steam on and off on demand and change the level of "pressurized" steam that is used depending on the material. It comes with some handy tools...I use the creasing tool all the time on my cotton uniform pants and they look like I ironed them. The clips on the hanger attachment are a little weak in the gripping department so a very heavy pair of pants might slip out of the clothes pins...This is so minor compared to the wonderful job the steamer does. The hanger attachment comes off so you can use your own hanger if you want. The water is heated very quickly and you have steam within 1-2 minutes, so it''s very convenient to use even when you''re in a little bit of a rush. I am 5''11" so I sometimes hang longer items over the door to steam, but for the average height person the telescoping pole will work just fine. I am so happy I found this gem and have not had my iron out since I purchased this. I''ve recommended it to all my friends.

I am an avid steamer as one gets instant results with the effort they put in. How many other things in life can one say that about? I loved this steamer when I first got it. It is incredibly well made with metal and strong plastic parts. It is so easy to assemble. And it generates a lot of steam. But it spit like crazy when I first got it. I did read the manual to make sure I did everything correctly, and I have been steaming for years, but it still spit constantly when I used it. I had done my research carefully on this steamer and knew many people liked it because it didn''t spit (a common problem with steamers). So I gave the steamer the benefit of the doubt and sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement.

And I fell in love with the replacement. It worked just as it should. The wrinkles fell away easily and with little effort. There was no spitting, no gasping, no wheezing the steamer continued to chug along as it should, just generating pure, unadulterated steam.

But within a few days, the steamer started spitting again. Not huge spitballs, but little spurts. However, that can ruin a silk shirt or a delicate garment. Nothing had changed on how I was steaming, the water I was using, the type of clothes I was steaming. I hadn''t changed my diet, the type of music I was listening to, or my Facebook page (just kidding, I don''t have a Facebook page). I lower the level of steam I am using to the minimum but it doesn''t stop spitting. Fast forward a few days later, and the steamer is now spitting at a more constant rate. So I put one of the cloth "hoods" that come with the steamer so the steam is not going directly on the clothes. Magically, there is enough steam coming through the hood to get the wrinkles out of my clothes but the hood is catching the extra spitballs. I go to take the cloth hood off and I notice it has marks all over it where the steam nozzles were. I remove it, and the steam head face plate has burn marks all over it as if it was handle having the cloth hood on it. But it''s an accessory that comes with the steamer the steamer can''t handle it''s own accessories?

So my love affair with my steamer ended. And it only has been two short weeks...

  • The #4040 solenoid valve includes a new inline strainer (pre-inserted in inlet side of valve), and a compression nut & washer for the inlet side only.
  • 24 VAC
  • 2.3 Watts

The purchase experience was good. It took about a week to get the part and it appears that most of that time it was in transit. This is long but not a big issue.

There was no documentation that indicated that the valve had an input and output (i.e. flow direction). There also wasn''t any indication that the valve can be mounted in either a left or right orientation. As it turns out, there is an arrow on the valve that indicates flow. Additionally, there is a screw on the side of the valve that allows it to rotate allowing either left or right mount.

In the end, this is a good product with nice features and better documentation would make this an EXCELLENT product overall.

I read the reviews about this product. I was concerned about the "Solenoid not included" comment so I email the company. They quickly responded that the solenoid was included. I ordered the product. It does not come with instruction but there are only two wires and an in/out for the water which is marked with an arrow. Hard to screw up! Took me 20 minutes to install mainly because it''s hard to reach behind the water heater.

Bottom line easy to install, stopped the leak problem I had with the original part. What else could you ask for?

Both of the other reviews indicate that this is a solenoid valve assembly but it is NOT! The picture you see is NOT what you get. The picture is for the solenoid valve assembly (which is what I thought I was buying).

This particular product is the transformer. It was a stupid mistake on my part trusting the review and the pictures. Too bad shipping was $9.00, as now it''s not worth it to send it back.

You want this product instead if you''re looking for the solenoid valve assembly:

Calphalon Electric 12-Cup Quick Brew Coffeemaker

Calphalon Electric 12-Cup Quick Brew CoffeemakerWe''ve only had the Calphalon 12 cup for two weeks. This unit makes an excellent pot of coffee. It takes 3 factors to make great coffee and develop the flavor. 1. Good quality coffee 2. Proper brew temperature of approx. 198 degrees and 3. Proper brew time. This unit does #s 2 & 3 just right. We have not experienced the problems cited by other reviewers. The "pause" feature is not a button. You just remove the pot to pour your cup and coffee will not be dispensed for 30 seconds. Return the pot and the brewing continues. We have had no problem with overflow or leaking.

We''ve owned family style coffee shop restaurants from 1967-2004, so we know a little about coffee.

Unless this unit develops problems and breaks down sometime in the future, we can safely say that this is a good coffee maker. We had a Krups combo coffee/espresso that died on us after 22 years and after looking at coffee makers in the stores and reading numerous reviews, the Calphalon caught our eye and we cannot be more pleased.

PROS:

1. Once you have determined how much ground coffee you wish to use for the strength of coffee you like, you will be pleased with the end result. We hit it right on the very first pot.

2. Temperature is perfect. Releases the oils and flavor, which is CRITICAL for good coffee.

3. Much quieter than our old Krups.

4. Carafe pours without dripping. Just don''t pour too fast.

5. Use paper filters that aren''t flimsy so they don''t "fold" over.

6. There is a "mid-brew" pause. Just remove the pot, pour, and replace within 30 seconds. Perhaps any complaints about leaking are due to not having the filter holder properly seated in place.

7. The "BOLD" brewing feature does help for those wanting a more robust flavor.

CONS:

Nothing really negative. Just design suggestions for Calphalon.

1. Assuming your maker is on the kitchen counter, you cannot see the "READY" sign that is displayed in the LED window if you are taller than 5'' since the READY sign is in the upper right part of the window. A larger window area would solve that problem. The same applies to the "BOLD" and "1-4" cup signs at the bottom of the window. The words are cut in half.

2. We tried the gold filter on one pot and it worked fine except that at the end of the pot there were some fine grounds in the coffee. That is why we believe paper filters are better for flavor and clean coffee. Also, by using the gold filter you have to remove it and flush out the grounds and rinse the filter. The paper filter with the used grounds just gets pulled out and goes into the composter or trash.

All in all this maker passes the test for us. Just hope it doesn''t disappoint in the future by breaking down before it has earned its keep and after giving this good review.

Two problems...First, the coffee filter folds over when brewing and often causes coffee grounds to overflow into the coffee. Two, the unit leaks! This unit leaked all over our counter at least three times out of about 7 uses! The first time we chalked it up to human error and did everything to minimize it from occurring again, even followed the manual step by step! I really want to like this unit...it brews a great cup of coffee and has many features that we like. It is very sleek looking as well, I even prefer the stainless and grey look over other units which are stainless and black. We are going to return it and try again in hopes that we just got a bad unit. However, if same problems occur, then it looks like we will revert to a Cuisinart...we have had two in the past without any issues.

We bought this unit at an outlet store, one of those window displays that has you stop and step back to get a good second look. What caught us was the looks of it and secondly after scanning over the box how it seemed like it was so worth the money with all of it''s features and the nice display and craftsmenship. However, and this is why reviews I feel are so important, when we got the unit back home to look up and see what we saves (since we only paid $50 for it), we came across the several bad reviews here on Amazon. Needless to say I was a bit let down since I thought it made outstanding coffee. But I figured I''d give it a few months and rate it after using it, so here i am today shopping on amazon like yourself and decided to write this review to bias why i feel these amazon reviews dopped us into a poor confidence in this coffee maker as i feel this is entirely contrary to my experience.

Personally let me start to say that I''m baffled at why so many people rated this unit so poorly. It''s been rock solid now for 4 months now, making coffee everday, sometimes twice a day. To go into why I think makes these other review so poor, I''m going to pro and con my thoughts on it here in the following.

Pro''s

Flavor and Rate of Brewing I like the fact that it brews at a higher heat and extremely fast. The Vantage of doing so is better flavor in your cup of coffee. Having used Chemex Branded Cofee Makers before (you could consider them as primitive coffee brewing because it''s all by hand), but coming from a Chemex, I learned that flavor (outside of grind selection and grind size) is mostly in the brewing temperature, rate of brewing and filtration media. I feel Calphalon nailed this down perfectly! 185 Degrees F according to a Candy Thermometer palced in the brewing compartment during a brewing cycle. Your Brewing Temperature should always sit somewhere between 170 and 190m for better flavored coffee (180-190 preferred as I''ve found).

Reservoir I have to say, the backside removable reservoir with handle has to be one of my favorite things about this Calphalon. It lifts out and I can slide it right into my fill station on our Samsung Refrigerator. The reservoirs cup measurement lines are also dead on. With Coffee Makers of the past, I remember having to fill the carafe to the indicated lines or the coffee mug to where I would want it for water. This reservoir I just fill it to the lines and then slide it back in place on it''s tapered race until it seats itself, just drops right in the backside. It also comes with a nifty little carbon filter that sits in a detent/raised area on the bottom, but since my Samsung Fill Station is carbon filtered already, I just never bothered to install this packet as it was double-redundant, and I don''t know how I feel about having a wet carbon filter sitting in a room temperature environment (doesn''t sound like too good of an idea).

Brewing Cycle The Calphalon beeps when the brewing cycle is complete and keeps the plate warmer on for the carafe. You can cancel the plate warming feature by hitting the brew button a second time (and it will make a beep again once the button is depressed and a display indication goes off on the bottom right). I normally turn this off just after I get back to the kitchen upon hearing the beep and right away make the Coffee. There have been complaints on amazon about the warming plate catching fire. Personally I''ve never had this happen, maybe it''s because I don''t let it run longer than ten minutes or so (because it changes the quality of the coffee the longer it sits), and never have it on when the carafe is empty. So to my knowledge this might have been a problem in days past or a quality control problem, all I know is that ours is a good actor and it''s been bulletproof. I should also note that it comes with a scheduled timer. Personally I tried it once, worked but we''ve don''t use it because in my opinion coffee tastes best when it''s brewed using fresh cold filtered water and same goes for consuming it right after it''s brewed. So we make it right then and don''t let the water sit and warm to room temperature.

Looks We were guided to this product right off from seeing it in a store window at an outlet store, one of those hold on sweety, look at that and we went from there. I think it''s probably the best looking Coffe Maker out there, one that''s not odd, chiseled or quackey-looking, just tasteful and appropriate. It also goes with our Stainless Steel appliances and Cuisinart and Kitchenaid countertop appliances. I Should also mention, with cabinet puck lighting, it''s looks perfect under low valnce lighting when light levels are low!

Cons

Dribbling (is it a big deal?) I did notice this as an oddity when the Carafe is removed mid-cycle, as it dribbled, and sometimes a good dribble (and sometimes a bit after the cycle is done). This has to do with the design and when I took a closer look at why it did this I noticed how odd that design was. But upon thinking about how fast it brewed and how it''s built to allow for the large run of brewed coffee that streams out to be broken down into several small droplets that won''t make a sound like a stream of loud falling water, it then started making perfect sense to me. After all it''s dead quiet when it''s brewing!! So after figuring this out, and looking at the flap valve that''s spring loaded there is a cupped area below the flap with several drop-sized eyelets to let the coffee seap out several indpendant drops at a time along the diameter of this half-teaspoon sized depression that''s where the coffee pools and drips from. The leaking actually i find has to do more with how fast you pull out the carafe then anything, but still has the tendency to drip thereafter even with this in consideration. OK, now that that''s been said, I want to explain why I think this is a foolish gripe from other reviews! To me it''s a minimalistic complaint and here''s why. You make a cup of coffee at high heat, it builds up moisture on the insides of the brewing compartment and carafe. When you''re done, you have this buildup of moisture from the heat and steam of brewing your coffee. To me it''s oly natural to wipe it down the brewing compartment, removing the filter basket, spraying it off if you use a flimsy coffee filter as the grinds may find their way out (which is why I started using Chemex Filters). But I do this out of the idea of letting something that normally would sit over a duration like a week long vacation or whatever and could mildew, and just the thought of not wiping it out gets me disgusted. So i do it every time I brew coffee as a force of habit. So to me, when it dribbles on the plate, it''s no big deal, and I''m wiping it down anyways, I just wipe off the plate. I should note I''ve done this with all my makers, they all condensate like this. And once it''s wipes down, for this coffee maker, since it heat soaks so much from the higher heat, I like to leave a spoon sitting in the compartment allowing the lid to stay slightly hinged open for ventilation to let it cool down, and I remove the carafe, placing it on the stove to cool off for ten minutes before placing everything back. This keeps moisture from staying inside the Unit and Carafe, and as an added benefit, I never have to wash out the carafe or shock the glass from thermal contraction of cold water from the faucet upon cleaning something which would help one day make the carafe crack as msot do. I also will sidenote that the standard paper filters, the standard flimsy ones, tend to fall over because of the rate and or volume of hot water that is pushed out of the brewing manifold (or whatever you''ve want to name it) at the top of the brewing compartment. Calphalon did not design this Coffee Maker for intentional use with paper filters; and although you can put them in there, it already comes with a standard removeable screen filter. The workaround I found was using the stiffer Chemex Small Coffee Filters that its in the filter cup it''s stiffer and sits just fine when brewing (and I use this only because I like the bitter taste of coffee oils completely removed something i''ve found even a standard paper filter is poor at, but the chemex resolves (keeps stomach upset to a minimum on darker roasts I find)).

Overall I love this Calphalon Coffee Maker, and I hope if you''ve read this review it helps you understand a little bit more about it before deciding on a purchase.

Received this beautiful coffee maker as a gift. The first one almost caught on fire Christmas morning smoke pouring out back and smelled like burnt plastic. Figured I just got a dud. Calphalon customer service was wonderful, assured me there were no known problems with heating element. Sent a new one a month later (on backorder they said). That one lasted 4 weeks, and then it just stopped working. Called them back, they are sending a THIRD, but after reading that many, many others have had so many problems, including almost catching on fire(check out BBB website too) going to send it back and ask for full refund.

Shame on me, before I ordered I read the reviews complaining about the pot leaking, carafe that leaked when you poured coffee, but did I pay attention.....NO. This 12 cup paperweight just got picked up with the garbage, which is what this product is. Yes the coffee does go all over the counter when you are pouring your morning cup of Joe, and I did indeed have water leaking all over my kitchen Sun AM. Lesson learned, bought a $36 "Betty Crocker" at the local hardware store, & when it dies in 9 mos or so, I won''t feel so stupid as I do now! I will then go back to the Bunn we''ve had before this disaster, & be very happy to get 3 years from it before it succumbs to well-water "itis". No matter how often we cleaned the 2 Bunns we''ve had, 3 years is the max with our Michigan well water. RIP Calphalon, goodbye & good riddance!!
