We''ve been very happy with this humidifier. The cool mist is very fine, so it feels more "misty" and less "damp" or "rainy" than some other humidifiers we''ve tried. The controls over how much or little mist it produces are effective, and it''s very quiet. Although this product is a little more expensive than some other types of humidifiers, it''s worth it. I know several people whose babies have been burned by warm mist humdifiers, and they also tend to breed bacteria, neither of which is a concern with this product. Also although we originally bought a cheaper humidifier, it turned out not to be as inexpensive as we first thought because we kept having to replace the wick and it quickly broke. This humidifier doesn''t have "hidden costs" and is sturdy and well made.

Also if you take off the lid and watch what it does to produce the mist, it''s really cool (not a reason to buy the product in itself, but interesting ....)

Our son gets asthma and croup from colds, so having a good humidifier was essential to keep his airway open. This was our third and final humidifier. After wasting our money on cheapo humidifiers that stopped working after a couple months, and that were awkward to fill and transport without spilling and to assemble correctly to get going, this humidifer worked like a charm. Sometimes there is a slight medicinal smell in the room in the morning, but it''s not overwhelming, or that different from any other humidifier. We have had this humidifier for two years now and with proper maintenance it still runs like the day we bought it.

We tried 3 humidifiers for our baby, and this was the best. It''s quiet, and the tank is big. You can get two night''s use out of a single filling. I also like being able to control the amount and direction of the water vapor. The only downside is having to clean the tank and base on a regular basis (a small price to pay when your baby has cold).

As devotees of ultrasonic humidifiers, we snapped up 3 of these units to compete with the forced-air heat. There is a lot to like: large capacity tank, very quiet, fine mist. Unfortunately, I think there is some type of engineering problem with either the ultrasonic transducer or the water-level sensing circuit. We have sent two back for replacement, because they simply quit working -regardless of the cleaning and demineralizing routine. One replacement failed after two uses. One of the remaining three is now becoming erratic, and the ultrasonic transducer is delaminating. The water demineralizing cartridges are a great idea, and work pretty well, but be aware that they don''t prevent all of the mineral dust. Still, use them.

So in short, these units are a great idea, but they need some better ruggedizing. My Holmes ultrasonic is 10 years old and still runs fine. You''re lucky to get 10 months from these.

Like some of the other people reviewing this item, ours developed a bad odor after a month of use. I have cleaned the thing thoroughly according to the instructions, but it still smells bad. I cannot find the replacement filter anywhere. It''s very good at producing mist, but the room gets saturated with the odor. It''s the last time I''ll buy a Vicks product.

I absolutely love my Cuisinart coffee maker and it has alot to do with their charcoal filtration system. The coal filter makes your coffee taste so much better. I can''t really explain it but my coffee tastes more pure, if that makes sense. The coffee makers are reasonably priced and the charcoal replacements last 30 days each and cost three dollars or less. You definitely get your moneys worth. For a happy purse and taste buds, give this a try!

Oster 5965 1-1/2-Liter Electric Water Kettle, Stainless Steel Save 61% Off

Oster 5965 1-1/2-Liter Electric Water Kettle, Stainless SteelI read reviews for many electric kettles and in the end chose the great Oster 5965. It had no reviews at all, but had all the features that were important to us:

Concealed Element

Short cord/cord keeper

Auto-off, no whistle

Boil dry protection

Mesh/screen pouring filter

Water level indicator

This kettle boils water quickly and my favorite feature is the Keep Warm button. Especially helpful if you tend to get sidetracked like I do. Just don''t forget to turn it off! It pours neatly, looks nice on the counter, and is great when you are cooking and need boiling water. The on/off switch is a rocker button and the Keep Warm is a push button. These two were a plus for me as they are sturdy to the touch. I felt the spring type switch on the Aroma (a contender) felt flimsy and that the time would come when it would not ''catch'' in the on position.

The only con is the opening for adding water is rather small. I was concerned about cleaning it, however there are directions in the manual for cleaning it with a mix of white vinegar and water, allowing it to sit overnight to remove any scale buildup.

If you have read reviews of other products where people complain that the kettle gets hot, this one is no different. But what do you expect from a steel kettle that is full of boiling water?? It''s no different than if it had been sitting on the stove except that you didn''t have to heat up the element and have the residual heat from the stove heating up your kitchen.

I paid $40 at Target and I recommend this Oster Brushed Stainless Steel Kettle.

I bought this kettle to replace a plastic kettle that I''ve had for years. Concerns over plastic in contact with boiling water convinced me to buy a stainless kettle. There is a little plastic in the water with this kettle from the water level indicator but it is greatly reduced from my all-plastic version.

I bought this at Target because I wanted to check out the inside of it before purchase; there were no pictures online which is why I posted some at the top of this page.

It is 1500 watts and boils water fast. Also has a keep warm feature which is something I don''t need. I have had no leaking water problems.

The opening is small but I can get my bottle brush inside to clean with no problem. The mesh filter pops right off. If you develop scale, just pour in a cup or so of vinegar, add some water & let it sit for an hour. I have very hard water so I do this every other week. I fill the kettle from my refrigerator water tap because that water is filtered. I had tried another pot before buying this one but I could not use my refrigerator tap; water ended up on the floor. This kettle has a nice flared spout that makes filling easy. I remove the mesh strainer when filling. I''m contemplating removing the metal bar that holds the strainer because I don''t really need the strainer. The strainer hangs securely on that bar; no clicking anything to lock it. It''s really simple/smart.

You''ll see my little back dots on the water level indicator. (I''m referring to my photo above.) I added those with a Sharpie so I know how much water I need for everyday coffee making. I use the pour-over method to brew coffee directly in to my carafe. I use more water on the weekend, less during work week & the least when it''s just me. I need things simple in the AM before I''ve had my coffee! The measurements are in liters on one side and cups on the other side of the indicator. This is very helpful.

Yes, it gets very hot when boiling water; it''s a metal kettle with boiling water. Treat it like you would a hot pan on the stove you grab the handle not the pan. The handle is very comfortable to grip & far enough away from the body of the kettle to prevent burning. Also the kettle spins on its base so there is no need to grab the body to move it around. Just grab the handle & you''re good to go. Yes, steam comes out of the spout & you may want to direct the spout facing out from under your cabinets; boiling water creates steam. Do not exceed the max water level. I tried that to see what would happen. It burped some hot water out of the spout; you could burn yourself doing that.

The "Keep Warm" feature keeps the water below boiling for up to 12 hours as long as there is enough water in the kettle. If there isn''t enough water, the kettle has a "boil-dry, fail-safe device" which turns the kettle off. You just push a button to use this feature. I never use it but according to the instruction manual, the water is kept at 70 C / 158 F.

The cord wraps around underneath the electric base so it''s out of the way. I always unplug this device when not in use. Just like my iron and toaster.

This is a pretty, curvy kettle; one of the nicest designs I''ve seen. I like the brushed stainless which looks nice next to my brushed stainless carafe.

The Oster stainless steel electric kettle lives up to its reputation in our household. We replaced our old and trusted plastic Oster electric kettle of many years good service, because we became concerned with boiling water in plastic which can leach toxins. The new design is beautiful to look at and has the added advantage of a "keep warm" feature the older model did not have. It is a bit less easy to read the water gauge, but you get used to it. It still boils water very fast, keeps it warm if you so wish and has no nasty taste or smell like so many other models you read about. It is heavenly for a tea drinker like me who drinks as many as ten cups a day!! Perfect for a fast oatmeal, instant coffee, instant soup, jello, adding boiling water when cooking soup and much more. At your finger tips, withing a couple of minutes are 1.5L of fresh boiling water. It turns itself off, swivels 360degrees. Love our Oster. Very well built and we expect to enjoy many years of good service like we did the previous Oster model.

I loved this kettle as the other reviewers did but at six months it started leaking thru the bottom. I don''t know if this is a design flaw or a fluke.

UPDATE: I contacted customer service and was sent a new kettle with a slightly different design but the same item number. The design flaws appear to have been addressed and this one has had no problems even with daily use. We''ve already purchased another for my daughter at college.

UPDATE 2: The replacement kettle is now over a year old and still working great. Whoever gets up first turns it on and it is on most of the day almost everyday with several refills. Upgrading to 5 stars!

I love everything about this electric kettle.. This Oster kettle is made

100x better than most stainless kettles out there. The quality is unreal. It boils very fast and the stay warm feature keeps the water super hot. Although the sides of the kettle gets very hot, the bottom does not. It can be set on any table or counter top immediately after boiling. I''m very happy with this purchase..

Culligan D40 Level-4 Drinking Water Replacement Cartridge
  • Level 4 Filtration
  • For use with Culligan models US-600, US-640, SY-2000 and SY-5167
  • Recommended for use with city and well water supplies
  • 600-Gallon capacity or 6 months
  • NSF Certified

If you have slow water flow before adding a Culligan under-sink filter, and don''t need lead reduction, I''d recommend the D-30, which lasts 2-3 times longer, and has great flow. For the price of the D-40 you can almost buy 2 D-30''s so you basically get about 4-6 times as much clean water for the price.

But if you''ve tested your water and it contains lead, I''d recommend this filter, because it is still great. It''s just not as great for someone on a lower budget, who doesn''t like to wait extra time for fresh water, like me.

I bought this with the "new" improved Culligan US-600A 3/8-Inch Undersink Drinking Water Filter from Amazon because I wanted better filtration. The 600 A comes with the Culligan D-20A filter which fits perfectly with no leaks. When I installed the D-40 filter it leaked a lot and no amount of tightening could solve it. I also tried exchanging the rubber washers at the top to no avail. The D-40 and D-20 filters look to be the same size, but the D-20 has slight indentations on the bottom that allow the filter to seat properly inside the holder. It looks like the Culligan D-40 Carbon Block Filter for $31.87 could have been the correct filter, as opposed to this $27.19 filter. I don''t know. I do know that I''m out about $30 and still don''t have the correct filter. YUK.

The filter is great, and the convenience of the system is fantastic for under-sink installation. I''m on an old water line with limited pressure, and the filter cuts my flow rate by 1/2. It''s not a design flaw, but it is a consideration for purchase.

Jarden Mrc Coffeemaker

Mr. Coffee 8-Cup Thermal Programmable Coffeemaker, BlackOk, I have owned thermal coffee makers before, so I am used to how they work. If you have any issues with the lid, read the manual and do not complain about it. These reviews about how the lid is not easy to work and that the coffee spills all over is purely based on people who are lazy, and/or do not follow directions. If you simply close the lid all the way before you brew, NOTHING will spill and all of the coffee will go into the carafe. Also, if you need extremely hot coffee when you drink it, then preheat the carafe with hot water before you brew the coffee. If not, your coffee will still be pretty hot, but not scalding like normal warming plate coffee makers. By the way, warming plate coffee makers always overcook the coffee and make it stale 99% of the time. I prefer a bit less hot coffee where the taste is still in tact. The coffee tastes wonderful in this coffee maker, and is just as good as most of the $100 to $199 coffee makers. This thing is very compact, and not as tall as other thermal coffee makers. The brew process is slower than other coffee makers, but this is how it should be. You want the full flavor of the coffee, not just a hint of it with boiling water added. Not all things need to be so expedient. Waiting for a nice cup of brewed coffee in this machine is worth it. But if you cannot wait and need it right away, set the timer and wake up to hot coffee waiting for your drinking enjoyment.

So in a nutshell, if you have never owned a thermal coffee maker, read the directions. If you have problems with the lid or the temperature not being 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, don''t buy it. However, if you are not a lazy person, am able to wait 5 minutes instead of 2, and know how to line up arrows on a lid......this coffee maker is for you!

I love this coffee maker, and it does an excellent job. The coffee is very robust and flavorful. The machine is very quiet, and works exactly as it is supposed to. The temperature of the coffee is very hot, and is still quite hot after adding a refrigerated creamer to it. I have no qualms with this machine, and the price is perfect for what you get. Please take this review for what it is worth, for I am a very educated coffee consumer. I have owned numerous coffee machines, and this is right up there with the best of them. No, I do not work for Mr. Coffee is case you were wondering :-)

It works and I don''t mind twisting a lid half-way open to pour coffee... I''m rough & tough...

I grind my own organic beans, so I''m a bit picky about burnt-flavored brews... Burning it hurts it''s constitution therefore just won''t do... I like my coffee strong... I like it to reach out and grab me by the throat while gulping it down, shouting, "I''m coffee!!!" with no other surprises...

Many of the varied coffee makers I''ve used over the years have tended to muffle the flavors. I suspect it may be their water sprinkling systems I dunno... All I know is this coffeemaker makes it full-body, full strength and with a wee less beans than with other machines, too... And because I drink my coffee thick and mean God knows that I really don''t need large volumes of the stuff..! So a couple of cups a day is all I want to get me into my wide-awake, work, and gab-alot mode... The carafe makes four mugs-full and that''s enough for me and the spouse with another pot for an after-dinner dessert, perhaps.

Ok -ProsI think this coffeemaker makes coffee plenty hot enough yet without the fear of it being overly cooked. Perhaps some people are used to hot-plates, common on other coffeemakers which does tend to make for hotter (often cooked) brews... The timer and the other controls are easy to read and use... It''s not hard at all to clean, if you rinse out the pot and filter cup with hot water right after the machine''s been emptied, and then wipe the machine down where needed...

You''re also going to need a type of bottle brush to scrub the inside of the carafe, occasionaly, and, rarely, for the water resevoir, but it''s not all that bothersome...

And -ConsIt does take getting used to living with the stainless steal thermo-carafe... It also takes an extra step and hand to work the lid but becomes easy, once you get used to lining up the arrows in order to close for brewing and half-open for pouring... Plus I discovered that by screwing the lid shut it has kept the flavor and richness of the coffee contained much better than those breezy flip-lids of the glass pots do... So I''ve grown to appreciate it lots, actually... It''s weightier-bottom, ace-of-spades shape does make it a bit awkward at first in pouring that last cup, but I''ve gotten used to it...

So, Four Stars**** from me..! This particular Mr. Coffee coffemaker does brew an excellent pot of coffee, in my humble oppinion with the only minor drawback in learning to live with the thermo-carafe...

There are some folks that like blistering-hot coffee but not me... I prefere it hot yet not painful, and so with my other coffeemakers I found myself turning the things off as soon as they finished brewing, so the hot-plates wouldn''t burn the coffee as it sat there, sometimes hours on end while staining the sides of the glass carafes those interesting baked-on patterns in shades of brown... This, of course, made the first cup hot but then the rest of the pot would become luke-warm to cool so then my microwave oven came into play...

Now it''s nice to have warm, eye-popping coffee, without the use of an extra major appliance and the added electricity expense for either the microwave or the hot-plate...

And besides, microwaving a cup brewed from organic hoity-toity beans well, it just ain''t goshe''...

Buy Jarden Mrc Coffeemaker Now

This is probably one of the less expensive coffee makers with a stainless steel thermos pot. This makes for MUCH better coffee-it does not become muddy as does coffee that is constantly warmed.

During winter months, the thermos pot keeps the coffee good and hot for over an hour, acceptably hot for two hour maximum, after that it will keep it warm for hours (but will need a shot in the microwave). Of course, if the pot is left full, it will keep it hot for about 3 or 4 hours. It does even better in the summer. You need to let hot water sit in the pot first to warm it up a bit (this will help the coffee to stay warm longer).

There are two flaws to the machine:

The hot water comes out of a wand which has to be moved to remove the coffee basket. If you do not get the filter in "just right," the water will hit the back of the filter and push it down...and grounds get into your coffee. This is a real nuissance; I tried "double filtering," but the final solutoin is to buy a permanent (screen) filter (they cost less than $4 at a grocery store).

The spring loaded "pause" feature can drip a lot.

There are a few other issues (like putting on the lid) that might be a bit of trouble at first, but after a week or so it becomes second nature. This is no issue.

I am not disappointed I bought this product; it makes for GOOD coffee, and after buying the pemanent filter, I am especially well-pleased; but the manufacturers need to do a better job of consumer testing. The design flaws are obvious early on.

Unlike others we have not had any problems with this coffee maker which we have had for over a month. Everything works just fine. We like the programmable overnight feature and the auto shut off. The carafe pours easily and I have never spilled any coffee using it.

We bought ours at Costco for $15 cheaper.

I agree with Mr. Vasicek''s review for the most part, and with the other reviewer below who has mentioned problems with the clock. I got this pot because it would be more difficult to break than the ones with the glass carafes, and the lack of a burner meant no more burnt coffee.

I do have the problem with the filter flopping over and getting grinds in my coffee, and may try the permanent filter solution. I definitely recommend pre-heating the carafe with hot water, regardless of the time of year. Otherwise the coffee gets tepid fast. The coffee is not as hot as it could be, most of the time, but maybe that''s also to do with the amount of (also preheated) milk I put in my cup.

I don''t like the delayed brew function, but only because it is time-based, like an alarm clock, and I''d rather it was a straight delay, because I don''t make coffee at the same time every morning -I''d like to be able to set it to go off after a set time, so I could go outside, or shower, or whatnot, and return to fresh coffee. But it doesn''t really matter, because the clock itself seems a bit wonky now that I''ve had the appliance for a few months. I can''t say whether we''ve been bumping it and accidentally changing the time, or whether there is a problem with the clock itself; anyway, it seems to be a weak point.

I''ve cleaned it a few times with white vinegar; I can''t get all the coffee stains out of the carafe but I don''t really care. I don''t have a drip problem with pouring the coffee, but I do line the lid arrow up carefully and have found that it helps to steady the lid when you pour. If you try to pour without the lid, it will often spill! But compared to pouring out of the little glass carafes on the "freebie" type coffee makers, this one is great.

Forget the pause function... if you take the carafe out during the brew cycle you are just asking for trouble.

All in all, I''d say that it''s not "the perfect coffee maker" but it''s the most suitable that I have encountered in recent years -speaking as someone who has recently ruined a percolator by running it without water. I would buy this one again.

Lysol Disinfectant Spray - Spring Waterfall Scent: 19 OZ.This is, almost, the same review for Lysol Neutra Air Fabric Mist Blossoms and Springtime They are very similar products and utilized for, basically, the same purposes. This product may be more effective against mold and mildew, however. Also, I utilize this product for surfaces, only.

Pros: * Covers up and then removes odors * Product''s perfume smell does not mix with unwanted odors to create a mutant like stink * Product''s smell is not too strong and does not linger for too long * Product sprays evenly and works quickly * One spray releases just enough of the product.

Cons: As with most products of this type, some may find the smell annoying This is subjective. * Sometimes, some of the product will drip on to your hand, while utilizing This is a common problem with products like this.

Whynter 14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner Save 22% Off

Whynter 14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air ConditionerI got this to supplement the window unit I''ve been using for years and ended up just completely replacing the window unit.

Very robotic design, it stands around 3ft tall and is in fact rather slim once you take it out of the packaging. Came with all the necessary accessories to get it running immediately. Hooking it up and putting the hot air vent where my window A/C used to be was extremely straightforward.

We usually power it up after my daughter returns from pre-school and set the temperature to around 74F. It usually shuts off at about 2am when the room and outside temps are nice and comfortable. The air is extremely cold around the unit and gets a good sized room down to a nice temp really fast. It seems very quiet during the day with all the other sounds and my daughter has slept like a baby ever since we got it. I does emit a low hum when it''s cooling but otherwise the fan sound is not noticeable to me. You can turn it on high for a few minutes but after awhile, that''s overkill. It does a great job on a low fan setting once the room is almost at the temp you want it at.

I really like the idea of not having to use central air like in our old apartment. I think over time the utility savings will easily cover the cost of the unit. The best part is I can bring it with us if we ever move.

It''s worked excellently for a couple of weeks now and I may just end up getting another for our own room.

Whynter Eco Friendly 14000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner

This has been a lifesaver during hot summer days. I agree with the negative reviews about it being noisy, but I have it in my bedroom and I got used to it after 2 nights. I sleep through it now. The LED is also very bright, but not so much that it keeps me awake. I took off a star because of the useless window mount. The hoses weren''t long enough for it to reach my window, so I went to Home Depot to build a rig. Replacement hoses are EXPENSIVE, so I didn''t buy them. The screws are very short and pop right out of the cheap plastic mount, so I''m using tape to hold them in place. I have since moved and now have casement windows, so I''m in the process of building a new mount in which I will screw the hoses directly into a piece of plexiglass which will sit in the window. I''ve read that this will work fine, so I''m not concerned about it. One of the negative reviews I read about this unit is that it failed to cool the space. It is designed to cool roughly 600 square feet (a small apartment) so it works fine for my place. I also use a fan to push the cool air into the other room. I like the look of the unit, as well as the fact that it can be a fan or a dehumidifier. I bought plastic tubing for the water collection tank, but it has yet to produce a single drop. The vent hose is doing its job.

I have a canopy tent and use it often during the summers here in Florida. I got this unit to provide a bit of repost to the heat/humitity and it did a wonderful job.

What caught my eye about this product was the low amp/voltage use. I connected a amp/volt monitor and discovered it pulled about 9.73 amps, a little lower than the 10.5 I saw in the user manual.

I connect a drain tube, so I can''t comment on how quickly the water repository fills up. I do say it is the coldest portable AC unit I have ever used.

Defiantly a good buy.

This AC unit is amazing!I ordered it on a Saturday and it said "may take two weeks for delivery" but I received it by Thursday (bought through Amazon so shipping was free two-day).

PROS: It looks great! Compared to other portable units, it isn''t heavy at all (whoever said it was must be a super light weight because I''m a 120lb, 5''6" girl and I got it up a set of stairs just fine, it only weighs like 70-ish pounds plus it has wheels, although it was a little awkward to hold on to because it is tall.) It cools super quickly, the room was 80 when I turned it on and it easily cooled it to 65 degrees in two hours. I live in New England where it isn''t humid, but the summers get into the hundreds, I haven''t had trouble with needing to pump water out of it, but I don''t have to deal with humidity. The hoses are flexible, I don''t have to have the AC directly in front of my window (it''s about a two feet away from the hose holes in the window). The frame that holds the hoses in the windows was just perfectly sized for my (standard sized) window, but if my window was any larger I would''ve needed to jerry-rig it. The remote is super easy to use (although it doesn''t light up).

CONS: The unit is a little loud, but still quieter than my old window-based AC. The hoses are a little clunky and are white so they stand out next to the unit. The LED is bright, but I put a sticky note over it and I don''t have any problems sleeping with it. I use the remote instead of the buttons on the unit because they are easier to see (the labels for the buttons are etched into the unit so the writing is black on black, but I have a dark room, so light would probably fix this.)

Overall I love this unit! I would definitely reccomend it!

I built a bar in my garage that is ~ 600 sqft. Now understand, it has walls and insulation but the exterior is corrugated tin and gets very hot. I started my journey of research to find a unit to make it comfortable. I looked at all sorts of options and spoke to several AC installers. Typically speaking, AC''s are rated by the BTU''s (12K BTU per 400 sqft) and I knew that 14K was not enough to cool down 600 sqft . I thought I would try it anyway because of the ease. When the unit arrived I took it out of the box, connected a few things, and turned it on (yes it is that easy). Just remember...there are two hoses in the back of the unit (intake and output). The output hose must be ventilated and the input needs to be left disconnected from the window. The intake is what pulls the air from the room, the unit cools the air, the cold air is blown back into the room and the hot air it vented out. That is basically how a unit (any AC unit) works.

Contrary to my thoughts, it works great. It is not real loud (as some say it is). Even in July with 105° Texas heat and 98% humidity this unit will pull the temp down to a comfortable degree. It will take about an hour and a half but it is well worth it.

Let me start off by saying that 5 years ago, we moved to a place with VERY rusty (iron-filled) water. It was so stinky that it made me gag when I would brush my teeth and all of our sinks, toilets, washing machine, and dishwasher were streaky with orange, rust smears. We purchased a whole house water filtration system and it has made a HUGE difference. We were using the brand of filters that came with the system, but they are not available in very many places. I have tried several different brands and none of them lasted very long. Finally, I found this Culligan water filter on Amazon and ordered it. I just ordered my second one to replace the first and we realized that the first one had lasted twice as long as other brands. Plus, it was the same price as some of the other types! We will stick with the Culligan filter.

What is there to say? The filters work as they are supposed to work; we have a lot of iron and sediment in our well water, and the whole-house filter really makes a difference; the filter lasts about 4 months.

I have been very satisfied with this filter and have been using it to filter our well water, which comes in with lots of sediment of all types. I need to mention though, that the product information here says this filter lasts 3 months or up to 5,000 gallons and on the package that I received, it says 6 months or up to 10,000 gallons. So that means that this product actually is much cheaper (50% cheaper, to be exact) than I thought. I hope that the vendor will correct this!

I don''t know much about water filters, other than that we are really happy with this one, we love using the subscribe & save option, which reminds us to change the filter (I had to change the delivery from 3 to 6 months) and I really wanted you to know there is an error here. Everything else is correct.

Recommended.

LG LP1200dxr 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

LG LP1200dxr 12,000 BTU Portable Air ConditionerI''ve owned this unit for 2 years and it runs 24/7 from around May through September. Other than cleaning the air filter there is no maintenance, and the unit will turn just about any room into an ice box. I originally purchased the unit for an upstairs room with western exposure that would just be unbearably hot during the summer. This unit turned it into the coolest and most pleasant room in the house.

It is a large and heavy unit, and a bit noisy if you plan to sleep in the room with it. But we did get used to the noise, and it was certainly a fair trade off for the comfort it provided. I would not hesitate for a second to purchase this unit again, and when summer rolls around I am so thankful that we have it. Very well built and efficient cooler.

I have had this unit for 3 years and it has performed very well.Even though the portable ones aren''t supposed to be as good, we got this as it was well rated at the time. It has vents that go up and down to move the cold air around. It is powerful and gets the room very cold. I am sure it would cool an area 3 times the room I have it in easily. You can program it to a specific temperature. You can set it on dehumidify. It shuts down if the water chamber needs to be emptied and that can happen several times on very humid days but I just put a shallow pan under it and pull the plug to drain it. It has a good solid vent hose and a washable filter that is easy to get to. I have a slider window so I can''t mount a permanent AC unit and also it is not my house so this is a great solution. It is a way to change the area you want to cool also. It is heavy and large but is on wheels and it''s not whisper quiet but it is basic white noise and easy to sleep through. When not in use in the winter empty and clean and cover it to keep out dust. Store in a warm dry place or mold can grow in air conditioners when they aren''t in use. If needs cleaning consult a pro to avoid damaging condenser.

I love this product. It has 4 modes (Cool, Fan, Dry and Energy Saver) and all of them work perfectly! I''m using it in my bedroom which is big and it lowers the temperature to 60F in any of its modes. I got it one month ago and so far, I haven''t had any real problem with it. The only thing is that the water container gets full every 20 minutes approximately, when the humidity is around 78% so I would like this container a little bit bigger.

I got this portable air conditioner to cool the second floor of my one and a half story bungalow. I only have to run it for 2 or 3 hours in the evening to get the second floor bedroom nice and cool for sleeping. It is a little loud, but it is basically white noise and very easy for me to tune out. It is necessary to drain the water once every few days into a shallow pan (it''s the only thing that will fit under the lower drain), but you don''t need a way to let it drain while it is running. When the water tank gets full, it shuts itself off, so no mess to clean up. It is also very easy to fit the exhaust vent into the window when I want air conditioning and take it out when I want fresh air. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. It does exactly what I wanted it to.

when i first turned it on it made a very loud grinding noise, like you can''t hardly shut it off fast enough...after a couple days of messing with it i found a screw had been dropped into the unit and was keeping the fan from turning as it wedged between thefan and the wall of the unit...it works great now

Mavea 106832 Maxtra Tassimo Filter

Mavea 106832 Maxtra Tassimo FilterThis filter seats perfectly in the Brita Maxtra pitcher I bought while stationed in Germany. It works well at taking out the heavy chlorine flavor of the city water in our house.

I love that there is an additional filter for a coffeemaker. It really makes a difference. Amazon has pretty low prices, so change it often to avoid bacteria growth.

This is a basic filter for the more advanced Bosch Tassimo brewers. Using it requires the plastic insert to hold the filter (Bosch part # 646364). If your Bosch didn''t come with a filter, and has a square water tank like this one : Bosch TAS4511UC you can google around and order just that part direct from the Bosch e-store. (Note, it will NOT work for brewers with the more rounded tanks like this : Bosch TAS2001UC )

It is easy to insert, works fine, and helps if you have water quality issues.

The question is, do you need filtered water at all... If your tap water is fine and tastes good, then you may not need to filter the water. If however you filter your tap water, or drink bottled, then it could help. I recommend making the coffee without using a filter, then with using a filter, and seeing if you can taste the difference. (getting someone else to brew the coffee for a "blind" taste test is even better.)

When my wife and I decided to purchase our Tassimo coffee maker the deciding factor was that it had a water filter. Our city water supply has a very bad taste when heated,so when we use this filter it fixes that problem and we have great tasting coffee!

Makes water taste lite and clean, even better than before. I find myself drinking more water because of this, and that''s certainly more healthy too.
