Haier HWF05XCK 5,000K BTU Room Air Conditioner Save 6% Off

Haier HWF05XCK 5,000K BTU Room Air ConditionerPros;

Good output of cold Air

Blows UP

simple controls

low price

Cons;

Very Noisy, nothing "Ultra Quiet" about this AC at all

Lacks a proper drainage hole in the bottom of the housing, can be drilled

Loud

w/o the drainage hole water pools in the bottom of the housing and the fan sounds like a paddle wheel on a steam boat as it spins through the standing water

Strange Sounds; rattles, squeeks, "paddle wheel", scrapes

Noisy

We have this installed in a fairly large living room where we sleep in the summertime and it cools pretty well. It''s not what I''d call quiet, but, it''s not what I''d call really noisy either (to me it sounds like a box fan). Though, as another reviewer stated there''s no drainage holes, so it does make a little noise when the water pools.

It''s easy to install and comes with all the screws, foam strip and little brackets so, if you have a Phillips head screwdriver you should have everything you will need when you get home to install it. It''s very easy to use as well.

Overall, a nice little a/c that cools nicely.

UPDATE 6/9/11: This is still working nicely for us, though, we started running a fan about 5 feet from this to "pull" the cool air down (as it blows up) as we have very high ceilings and that really helps it actually not only cool down our living room but, our kitchen as well. We have an open floor plan in our home with high ceilings and so far with the fan set up while this a/c is running has been keeping us more than cool enough.

If you want an a/c that''s going to "freeze" you out this little a/c probably isn''t for you. If you have a small to mid-size room and you want to be just cool and comfortable, than this will work; at least it has for us.

I had one of these that lasted 3 years, I noticed that there was no drainage, I looked it up and apparently the water is supposed to keep the motor cool. But if its too humid it spits water and ice. I purchased a new one a few days ago because I know it going to be a brutal summer, and once again. no Drainage hole. So this time I took pliers and bent the lower pan out so water could drain, and it does. I think there is enough water in the bottom to keep the motor cool and with the bottom drain I created it does not spit water and is quieter. Seems to run very well. When they made this they prolly did not count on Ga humidity. It cools my 14x12 Room very well. It can be 100 outside and 65 in my room with the unit running.

I recently moved to Chicago, where it is quite humid in the summer time. If we didn''t live in such a humid area, I think this actually might work alright. But that''s not the case and we wasted $100 for basically nothing.

The room we were initially planning on using this was a small bedroom, but unfortunately it only extends up to 3 ft or so, which isn''t long enough to accommodate our window (poor planning on our part). We instead put it in our living room, which is about 8x10. This manages to cool more than half of the room. If you''re standing on the opposite side of the room, you won''t feel the cool air at all. We''ve had this running on full blast for 5 days and it still hasn''t gotten the room cooler than 78-80 degrees, but most of the time it''s much hotter than that even. It pulls in so much humidity from outside that you''re constantly sweating regardless, so that 78 is actually feels like 6-8 degrees warmer. In addition, it''s incredibly noisy. We have to listen to TV with the volume on full blast and still have difficulty hearing it sometimes.

Before this I was living in FL where it is comparably humid, and I have used a 5,000 btu frigidaire window ac unit that was much quieter, did not pull in humidity and it easily cooled down an entire 700 sq ft apartment within 2-3 hours. It''s maybe $30-40 more than this unit, but it''s well worth it, especially if you live in humid climates. Unfortunately for us, the place we bought this at will not return it if the box has been opened, so we''ll have to buy a whole new AC once we get the money.

This A/C unit clearly states in its booklet that it should not be run when its 65 degrees or cooler. It should not be run when there is any moisture inside from cooking or (in my case) clothes drying, and if you have a humidifier, forget about it. Any of those conditions will ice up the grill, then this water will not drain, the water is clearly not designed to cool the coils because theres a huge styrofoam block preventing that. My opinion on this unit is that some foreign company was trying to capitolize on making the cheapest A/C unit they could (worth about 30-50$) and then selling it to just barly undercut the next cheapest unit available at 100$ (GE makes it I think). This thing is light, I am weak and small and I can practically throw it up and catch it, and its loud, and in my climate in the mountains I cant leave it on past dusk or it turns into a popsicle. I am very disappointed in the item, it is going back. I have a Haier portable washing machine which I love, but this item has not been made by A/C professionals.

Pitcher of Life Alkaline Water Pitcher Save 44% Off

Pitcher of Life Alkaline Water PitcherI am very skeptical about this pitcher. No where on the site does it say how the water is alkalized except that it is filtered. The site and video say there is a difference in the quality of tap and bottled water that their water has minerals calcium , magnesium etc. The word enhanced should be noted as code word for added. So does the filter add additional additives? I assume so. Well from what I''ve read if you want to alkalize your body you can take Calcium magnesium and even adding baking soda to water. But I think baking soda is dangerous and as I have continued researching believe that water ionizers and alkalizers can be a health risk rather than benefit. You do not want Alkalosis or Acidosis. You need a balance between both. And while they use technology designed for Nasa

i highly doubt Nasa indorses these claims and from what year. I just don''t find their video convincing and I find some of their claims a little gimmicky. Researching the company has 21 complaints for BBB and 12 in the last 12 months under the name Earth Trade Water Inc. There is not enough detail on how this product functions to produce alkalized water.

The water out of this pitcher tastes awesome!

A friend of mine turned me on to this, I tried the water out of hers and it tastes amazing! I got mine, they sent it right away, and I couldn''t be happier. This water really tastes better, and I do feel more energy. I was skeptical at first that a pitcher could make that much of a difference, but it does!

This Pitcher of Life is so worth the price, the water really is better.

I love taste of this water but has anyone else had trouble with the pitcher design? It pours out around the spout. I have to use it over the sink and lose a lot of water every time I fill a glass. Also the LED timer didn''t work. The company was incredibly responsive and sent me a new top right away, but that didn''t work either! Great idea, bad execution.

I originally bought this Alkaline water pitcher for my cancer dog, who needs 1-3 gallons of water plus green drinks per day to flush out toxins. I have tested the ph before the water is placed into the jug and after it is filtered.

*Pros* I can see a noticable improvement in Ray''s health since being on the water. His arthritis is better, his skin smells better, and his outlook on life is happier. The whole family uses the pitcher. *Cons* I don''t however like the way the water drips when poured, even when you hold the lid on tightly. This whole lid could be designed differently by not allowing the water to escape once it is in the top tank. Still well worth the money.

I have had the original Pitcher of Life for over a year and am fully convinced of the health benefits of drinking water with a higher PH by how I feel. My body feels hydrated, my skin glows and my stomach just feels better overall. Since I use it so often I decided to get another one and bought the new 2nd Generation Pitcher of Life. Wow! I love this new design. The water pours easier without having to hold the lid real tight and the improved counter is a nice touch too. My cat and dog drink the water and their coats are shinier and healthier looking and to touch. I highly recommend this pitcher! For the price and what it does you can not go wrong! Give your body a gift and start drinking this water!!

Pentek 155360-43 20'' 25/1 Micron Dual Gradiant Poly Cart.
  • Reduces the need for multiple housing step-down filtration systems
  • Filters extra-fine dirt, sand, sediment, silt, rust particles, and scale particles effectively
  • Bacteria resistant and chemical resistant
  • 3 times the dirt-holding capacity of similar sized sediment water filters

I''ve been using Pentek filters for years and their quality is outstanding. Pentek is also a brand that hasn''t fallen prey to outrageous claims, advertising and price. While this filter is pricier than high micron sediment filters it really captures more and has solved a lot of water quality problems for me.

This 25 micron to one micron filter does a great job holding the iron back from my home water system. It does not screw on but if you put it into the canister and screw the canister closed it adjusts and seats into the outlet.

Hard to review this product. All I can say that it appears to be working. We have two sediment filters and this filter is catching everything. The other filter is clean.

I live on a ranch and we filter the water from the well. Pentek 25/1 has proven it''s worth in that our water arrives at the tap with little in the way of suspended particles. It seems that the varing grade material of the filter does a good job of removing the particles progressively as the water moves thru the filter. I will buy again so long as Pentek keeps up it''s quality.

I believe reviews should be about the product, and for this product... it''s great.

Struggled with multiple filters, have to change them all the time, more complicated setup. Bought this and a housing, and now I use one filter, change it every 3-4 months, and don''t worry otherwise. Great filter, I''m buying more!

I have to deal with well water in the park I am currently residing in and the water pressure is not the best. Other filters reduced the flow even more. This filter has a great flow and the water tastes and smells pure. It is also economical, however you have to change every 90 days. Not a big problem though, as you know you have a fresh filter. • World''s first and only stainless steel filtered water bottle
  • Filters everything but salt water
  • Removes up to 99.99-Percent of Bacteria and Viruses
  • BPA-free; non-leaching and lead-free

I bought this bottle as a replacement for bottled water; it''s unclear how much more pure bottled water is than tap water, aside from taste, since water bottling companies are not subjected to uniform standards. I was impressed by the fact that the Fill2Pure filters water not only to NSF Standard 42 (chlorine, taste), but also Standard 53 (pesticides, heavy metals, microorganisms). The other popular water purification bottles out there -such as those made by Bobble and Brita -mostly just improve taste but have little effect on other potentially worrisome contaminants in the water supply. I love that the water tastes great and the bottle seems well made. Yet, there''s one annoying aspect to this bottle: it''s almost impossible to drink from it without getting half air, half water. Drinking is work! Hopefully Seychelle will improve the design in future models.

Nice design to this bottle, but as the other reviewer indicated, it''s very difficult to drink from this bottle. It requires an annoying amount of effort to draw the water up through the filter and straw, and you end up taking in as much if not more air than water.

The water tastes pure, though.

Liquid-Plumr Gel Clog Remover Save 8% Off

Liquid-Plumr Gel Clog Remover, Professional Strength 2.5 qts 2.37 ltFrom my experience, Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Power Gel does a pretty good job of unclogging drains. It''s not perfect, but it does an adequate job. Just pour 1/5 of the bottle down a bathtub, sink, or garbage disposal. For tougher clogs, pour 1/2 the bottle down the drain. I''ve had a little better luck with Liquid Plumr products vs. Drano products, though both products are good.

I recommend Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Power Gel.

I had a clog in my kitchen sink. I tried several other products, to no avail. This worked. Cleared my clog. Saved me from having to call a plumber. Great product, highly recommended.

Our pipes are pretty sensitive here. If we wait more than a couple of days between shaving, they get stopped up simply with barely centimeter-long hairs. This stuff did a great job loosening that stuff up and clearing our drains. It has a very weak odor so it''s surprisingly gentle on the nose as well. It does say it''s a "gel" but it''s not much thicker than water. I don''t know if you''re supposed to shake it first or not, but I had do because the thicker part of the solution would clump up meaning it was just adding to the clogging problem at first! :P

Bobble BPA Free Water Bottle Set 6 Assorted Colors (18-Ounce) Save 20% Off

Bobble BPA Free Water Bottle Set 6 Assorted Colors, 18-OunceIt''s a water bottle. I''ve had mine for 6+ months and does the job of giving me great tasting water. However it''s noisy. after you take a drink as such it creates a vacuum in the bottle. When the bottle sucks air back in it produces a ''whistling'' noise. It''s not so loud it disturbs anyone around me, at least I''ve never hand anyone say so, but it bugs me a bit.

The Bobble does a good job of filtering out unpleasant tap-water tastes, but all of the bottles I purchased (6-pack)had issues with the mouthpiece closing while trying to drink out of it. Otherwise, this would be a great product!

Concept is great and water taste good. Biggest drawback is the filters are hard to suck from to get the water into your mouth. Even is you squeeze the water bottle to help, it''s still hard!!! Fix this problem and I would rate it 5 stars.

Read Best Reviews of Bobble BPA Free Water Bottle Set 6 Assorted Colors (18-Ounce) Here

I like my new Bobble and use it every day, but overall it''s pretty flawed. The shape is really nice, and it feels good to drink from. The plastic is pretty soft, but drinking from it in large quantities at a time have caused a couple of dents/creases in the side. When the cap is opened all the way, a whoooole bunch of air comes along with the water you''re drinking. There''s a trick to getting it to flow only water and I dunno if it''s with only mine or what, but it works much better if you only open the cap halfway. This can be pretty cumbersome if you''re on a treadmill or multitasking, though. I can get three big sips and then I have to wait for it to refill with some air; it goes faster if you squeeze it.

Despite everything wrong with it, in the right situations it serves its purpose, and the water tastes pretty great coming from it. That being said I''ll probably try the Rubbermaid filtered water bottle next.

Want Bobble BPA Free Water Bottle Set 6 Assorted Colors (18-Ounce) Discount?

My wife brought home a Bobble about a year ago and since then, I''ve been hooked. Rather than spend $1 each morning on the way to the subway for a small bottle of water, I now fill up my Bobble the night before and have a cold bottle of clean water for mere pennies. My two-year old son won''t leave the house without his either. The six different colors are also great for telling each other''s bottle apart (my wife, my son, and I each stake claim to two). The plastic will crease if you squeeze too hard, but the bottles have been dropped repeatedly and hold up well.

C-CS-FF

C-CS-FFVery easy to change without even having to shut off water (though I did) due to base''s integral check valve, in my setup anyway. Removes taste of chlorine very well which otherwise ruins the taste of coffee for me. Previous cartridge lasted 3 years only small utility sink I use mostly for coffee, drinking, icemaker and cooking water, not for washing, etc. Tap water here in Bend, Oregon is superb anyway, winning the 2012 "Best Tasting Municipal Water In Northwest" and in running for best in USA, to be determined. I just hate the taste of chlorine.

Melitta Espresso Maker Save 41% Off

Melitta Espresso MakerWe bought this product based on the Melitta name and the enthusiastic reviews, even though there were just a couple of them. We also liked the fact that it was designed for both pods and ground espresso, and based one review, it seems to work well with pods. The unit is also easy to operate and clean.

Using ground espresso, however, the result was much weaker than we got with our old, fading Krups, using the same coffee. We followed the instructions closely and also tried different coffee and water ratios. We then sent very specific questions to the support team (at Hamilton Beach) from their web site... and received no response.

We appreciate how Amazon took this back with no effort (other than cleaning and repacking) on our part. We will continue to make Amazon our seller of choice.

I got this espresso maker for Christmas this year after getting hooked on latte''s. with this maker i have been able to match what i was getting at a coffee house. it took some practice but i figured it out. i haven''t tried it with the pods yet but grounds work just fine!!! The frother is amazing and i have started saving a great deal of money.

I purchased this espresso maker in Dec of 2011 and I was excited about getting the unit to replace a Delonghi that gave out. I figured if I paid in the $150.00 range I would be getting something better than the unit I replaced (about $80.00), but it wasn''t so. It does heat up quickly but that''s about it. The first unit wouldn''t draw water from the tank. I called Melitta and they had me try a few things before saying they were authorized to send me a new unit. The service rep told me they would send a new unit and instruct me as to where to send the plug I cut off the defective one. I asked at least twice if I was to send the plug first and she said no. It seemed strange but I waited for the unit to arrive and assumed it was taking extra time to get here because of Xmas. After 3 weeks I called and they said they had no record of me calling. I had to go through the whole story again, send them the plug from the defective unit first (makes sense right?) and received the new unit. It worked but it leaks all over my counter and the handle that holds the grounds is corroding. I use only bottled water. I called them and they said to send them the handle so that they can look at it and figure out why it''s corroding. I have the old one from the first broken unit that I can use but they don''t have any replacement parts to send me so that if the second one corrodes I can''t use the machine at all. The water drips into a plastic piece and doesn''t touch the corroded metal, but it still isn''t right. The water tank is large but when it gets about half way empty it doesn''t draw well and sometimes I have to fill it to get it to work, so it''s like having half a tank. I wouldn''t buy another Melitta.

I was so excited about this gift when I first recieved it! Then I plugged it in...I did all the first time cleaning and whatnot that''s required before brewing the first cup, plugged it in, dropped in the pod and expectantly watched my coffee cup...nothing came out of the filter assembly but water did start spilling all over my counter! This machine has never worked and Melitta said I couldn''t return the item because I had no reciept (it was a gift). I''ve tried half a hundred things to get this machine to work but, in the end, all I got was a brand new piece of junk. Disappointing.

I received a Melitta espresso maker for Christmas. I was really happy as I love Lattes but I don''t love their price. I thought I would save a lot of money by making them at home. Unfortunately, I didn''t save a thing over $100 (the price of the machine) went down the drain! I have tried and tried to make a decent cup of espresso with it but no matter what I do it ends up extremely weak. I have tried using different brands & kinds of coffee; tried packing the coffee basket tighter and looser; and varying the water levels. Nothing has worked. All I can see that the machine is good for is taking up counter space & collecting dust!

Medelco #4 Cone Permanent Coffee Filter Save 100% Off

Medelco #4 Cone Permanent Coffee FilterDescriptions claims its for use in ALL, not MOST #4 Cone filtered coffee makers. Not so. Doesn''t fit my Gevalia coffee maker -I can''t even close the lid. Not worth paying to return it, so I guess I''ll cut the top ring and handle off and make it fit or throw it out.

I''ve been using this filter for about two weeks now. It is my first permanent filter, and I am very happy with its performance. It is solidly built, and with proper care should last quite a while. I debated on the high-end swiss gold filter, but thought the price was too high, so I figured I''d take a chance with this one with free shipping. I can''t imagine how much better/different the swiss gold would be if any? I am using a fairly fine ground from a good, flat burr grinder, and have had no issues of grounds/sludge in my coffee. I also purchased a new Zojirushi coffee maker at the same time, so read my review on that as well if you''re in the market for a good machine. This filter fits the Zoji perfectly.

Buy Medelco #4 Cone Permanent Coffee Filter Now

I bought the Medelco #4 cone permanent coffee filter as a substitute for a Braun UGSF4 filter. Unfortunately, it''s not a really good substitute. Although the Medelco coffee filter will fit in a Braun coffee maker, it''s not as tall and tapered as the Braun UGSF4. As a result, it doesn''t concentrate the coffee as much when it is moving through the filter so you have to substantially increase the amount of ground coffee that you are using for the same strength of coffee. So while the Medelco is initially cheaper than the corresponding Braun filter, one would end up spending much more money in the long run because you would use more ground coffee. My advice is to search the net (including e-bay) to find a genuine Braun gold filter...even though it will likely be more expensive than the Medelco filter, you''ll be much happier in the long run.

I purchased this because, after about 8 months or so, I started noticing tiny holes/tears forming in the bottom of the permanent filter that came from the factory with my Braun coffee maker. It seemed to allow some of the smaller coffee grounds to come through during brewing. This product partially solved the problem. However, a more general issue with these permanent filters is that, even when they are intact, they do not filter as many particulates from the coffee as a paper filter. If you grind your own beans as I do, and your grind is on the finer side, a certain amount of ''residue'' is going to come through these filters that would be stopped by a paper filter. Just keep that in mind, and don''t drink those last few drops!

A couple of years ago, I received a French Press Coffee maker as a present, and it made coffee that was clearly superior to coffee made in the drip coffee maker. One morning I looked more closely at the coffee in the French Press and noticed oils on the surface and realized that the "moist" look on the beans was possibly oils. When making coffee in the French press, it had no paper filter, and I deduced that this was because there was no paper filter to absorb the oils. This could be remedied in my drip maker with a permanent mesh filter. I went through a couple of these before I finally bought this one, which fits my Zojirushi coffee maker. The quality of my coffee improved as the oils found their way through the filtering. I recommend this filter for all you picky coffee drinkers.

Crown Berkey Water Filter With 2 Black and 2 PF2 Fluoride Filters

Crown Berkey Water Filter With 2 Black and 2 PF2 Fluoride FiltersI have had my portable "Go" Berkey for several months now and take it with me everywhere I travel. Hotels in the US, friends houses, foreign destinations everywhere! In fact, I like it so much, that I then purchased the "Big Berkey" that holds 2.25 gallons. I was so impressed with this, that I then purchased the Colossal "Crown" Berkey that holds 6 gallons! My 6 member family is happy with all three and they are an indispensable part of our lives. We emphasize copious water consumption and these the most logical, efficient and cost effective means of accomplishing this.

We have missionary friends in primitive areas of India and Africa who have also found the Berkey system to play a critical role in their lives. Everyone is happy with its performance.

Regarding those who say it "leaks", I can authoritatively say that the spigot only leaks for those who don''t know how to "screw a lid on tight" or don''t know how to properly connect a hose onto a faucet. The only "leak" issue that potential purchasers will need to be prepared for, is that it can be overfilled, causing the water to leak out between the upper and lower chambers.

Obviously, if the upper chamber is overfilled, it will cause the lower chamber to overfill, resulting in a overflow between the two. This is only a problem for those who are unprepared.

Screw on the spigot well and don''t overfill, and you won''t have any problems.

This is truly a professional product, that is NOT just a water filter it is a very sophisticated water purifier. It does what it is supposed to do and does it very, very well. It is exceptionally well built and performs flawlessly.

Don''t be misled by those who are misinformed and don''t know the basic fundamentals of how to screw on a faucet. I now own three of them and have no regrets.

It''s operation is simple. It''s performance is stellar. It''s quality is unrivaled. And the end product is truly life saving!

Buy it with confidence. Use it with unbridled trust. Foreign workers all over the world depend on it and you can too!

We had the small one for 5 years. It worked great. But we were constantly refilling it with water. So we bought the biggest one they make and gave the little one away. The water taste great and I have never had trouble with either unit.

Buy Crown Berkey Water Filter With 2 Black and 2 PF2 Fluoride Filters Now

Las Vegas water from the tap is hard and nasty tasting, and as usual, our local gov''t forces us to consume something we don''t want (fluoride) "for our own good". I''d used a number of different water filtering systems but until recently figured I just had to live with the fluoride in my water, the Berkey addresses fluoride and while a bit pricey, I decided to give it a try. The unit arrived in excellent condition and with concise instructions, though I did have to look up via google tips on how to keep the spigot from leaking. Set up took 20 minutes, mostly due to having to prime the fluoride filters with some pressurized water running through them for a minimum of 5 minutes each, took me a little bit to gauge how much water pressure to use effectively. I filled the tank before I went to bed and by morning when I got up about 2/3rds of the water had been filtered. The water was flat out yummy, and the coffee I brewed with my coffee press never tasted so good.

But I was cautious about my reaction being partially psychological, so I did a little experiment. Taking 6 clear bottles and labelling them as to their water source, I filled each to 1/3 and 2/3 level, 2 from the tap, 2 from the Berkery and 2 from the refrigerator''s water dispenser which has its own filter. Popped them in the freezer and upon returning from work the water in all 6 bottles was frozen solid. The difference in the ice''s appearance was striking; the tap water ice was completely opaque and milky in appearance, the water from the refrigerator''s tap was also noticeably cloudy though it at least had a clear outer shell of about 1 cm before cloudiness started to form. The bottles with the Berkey water was almost crystal clear except for a slender streak in the very center. So why do this? When water begins to freeze, a thin layer of ice starts to form the outside going in. This is made from pure water as pure water freezes quicker than impure water. The pure water becomes solid while the minerals and gases are still in a solution state. The rest of the liquid freezes slowly from the outside to inside. The centre of an ice cube is what freezes last. My primitive experiment was to see how much gas and sediment I could see with the naked eye, but to rule out the gas I let all 6 bottles thaw completely over the course of the evening and poured their contents into separate glasses, the water from the Berkey source was completely clear, while the tap water source had a visible and copious amount of sediment floating in the glass; the water from the fridge''s tap contained less sediment than tap but still had enough to be unappealing. One cannot see pathogens or other such things with the naked eye, but for me this was enough proof that it wasn''t just my imagination of the water tasting better after being filtered from the Berkey, its clarity with this primitive test reinforced my belief that crud was being filtered out, be that calcium or whatever else.

Finally, when you factor in how much filtered water costs with a Berkey vs other sources, to me it was a slam dunk choice. Honestly, the taste alone is sufficient and I''ve had friends comment on how good my water tastes compared to what they''re used to. A more unpleasant reason is that while I''m filtering tap water, one never knows if disaster of some sort won''t strike, with my Berkey I can use just about any water source, give it some time, and have fresh water to drink, and that''s something that grants significant peace of mind.

Our family is really enjoying this system. We have a pur water filter on our sink and this water tastes WAY better than that water! The reason I didn''t give it a 5 is because the instructions were just a tad challenging...not exactly challenging, but one or two things were not clear. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great filter.

Want Crown Berkey Water Filter With 2 Black and 2 PF2 Fluoride Filters Discount?

I purchase this system because I was concerned about the quality of water we were drinking from our refrigerator, I know my refrigerator has a filter but I still felt like I could be drinking better water.the water that comes out of the Berkey has a softer better taste then any other water I have a drank. it makes me feel good to know that if water stops coming out of the faucet I could pour pond water in the Berkey and fresh water would come out. the instructions ( how to install filters) were not clear to me but my husband figure it out without having to call customer support, although I have heard that the customer support is very good. tHe Berkey sits on my counter and next to the kitchen sink because I wish I would''ve purchase the base that raises it so that I could pour me a glass underneath the spigot, did not think about that, also I would''ve purchase the spigot that comes with the clear level so that you know when you need to refill it so that you don''t have to continuously open the lid and check if you have enough water or too much water that it may spill. Overall a great investment I now carry my Tervis Cup with my filtered water everywhere. I purchased the 2 black filters and fluoride filters. I hope this helps you make your decision. 4 stars because the fifth star would be if this was a perfect system which is not because I have to say it''s bulky and it''s kind of messy to get started.

BISSELL Steam Mop Replacement Filter Save 14% Off

BISSELL Steam Mop Replacement Filter, 32526I rarely used my steam mop. Recently I decided to use it but the filter dripped all over the place... I hadn''t realized I had to replace the filter. Thank goodness for amazon because I couldn''t find the filter at any local retailer including target (where I bought the steam mop.) the filter arrived as promised and at a decent price.

Please note the fishy smell is due to an old filter! Read the instructions and it will tell you that. Filter works just as expected.

I ordered this to replace my original filter which developed a crack after one too many drops. This replacement fits and does the job, or at least as far as I can tell and I suppose that''s all I can ask. It''s definitely a generic though, not OEM Bissell.

Aquasafe Aquarium II - 7 Stage RO/DI Water Filtration System

Aquasafe Aquarium II - 7 Stage RO/DI Water Filtration System
  • Provides 0ppm water using 7 stages of water purification for the purest water.
  • Production capacity of up to 100 gallons per day.
  • 3 Stages of DI resin to ensure only the purest water reaches your aquarium.
  • Perfect for both fresh and saltwater aquariums.
  • No more need to purchase chemicals or carry home water from your local fish store.

Installation of the filter was very easy. All I needed other than the items supplied was some teflon tape. I did however, install a threeway that I purchased at home depot on my water line so that I did not have to use the line piercing tap that is supplied because my water lines have a layer of braided stainless steel on the outside. I installed the filter under my bathroom sink as this filter is for a hydroponic garden and salt water fish tank. Takes around 12-13 hours to fill my 40 gallon fish tank but I have the flow rerstricted producing around 1 gallon for every 4 gallons of waste water. This way there is plenty of water to wash away waste and hopefully prolong the life of the RO filter. Filter produces 0 PPM water at 6.1 PH from my tap water that is normally around 400-500 PPM at well over 7 PH. Very happy with this product and would reccommend it to others. Only issue I had was with the shipping of the product, I was very upset it took over a week for my filter to leave the manufactuerer. However, it arrived only three days after leaving the manufacturer and well within the estimated delivery date.

I bought this item to filter water for my 90 gal saltwater aquarium water changes. It does it''s job well. My only complaint is that it only filters to 3 ppm per my meter when the filter my friends use filter down to 0 ppm. Works well otherwise.

Easy Load Reusable No Splash Cap
  • This product does NOT work with Non-spill coolers
  • Reusable
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Prevents the water from spilling while the bottle is tipped for placement on a cooler or crock.
  • Proudly Made in the USA

Works like described. Easy to snap on and snap off. I don''t think I could fill my water cooler without one of these things. A bit too expensive in my opinion, but I couldn''t find a similar product anywhere else. If you get water delivery service then I would suggest asking your delivery guy(gal)to get you one. The company may charge, I don''t know, but it wouldn''t hurt to ask if its free, heck he(she) just might give it to you! That''s how I found out about these, through the water delivery service at work.

Stop right there! If you are looking for an environmentally friendly, reusable cap to use on your 5 gallon water jugs instead of the disposable blue caps you get from the water company, this is NOT it!!! {Note, I do not use a crock-type dispenser; I have an electric hot/cold dispenser.]

1) The caps have an open hole in the top. If you, like me, refill your jugs at the grocery store (or wherever) and transport them back to your house for storage until you need them in your dispenser, do NOT buy these caps! Water will spill in your car as you transport the jugs, and dust will fall into your water as it waits to be used. There''s no "sticker" on the top that keeps the seal (as there is on the disposable caps).

2) The caps also have "wings." This is terrific for helping taking the caps on and off, but also makes them unusable in the water dispenser. I had to use my dremel to cut off the wings so that it would fit in the dispenser hole. (Had I been smart enough to test the size of the cap in my dispenser BEFORE snapping it onto my 5 gallon jug and attempting to flip it onto my dispenser, I probably would not have THEN mopped my kitchen floor.)

I WISH this was the product I was looking for! Save your money, or sharpen your dremel.

I wish I had known about this product a long time ago and I wish I had thought of it myself! What an ingenious little thing this is! It is so simple to use and not a drop is spilled. My husband will be 71 soon and it''s getting too hard for him to lift that 5 gallon bottle. He asked me to get one of those pumps to put on top of the bottle. I really didn''t want that because I''d have to put the bottle on the floor and we don''t have that much space in our kitchen anyway. Well, since buying the No-Splash Cap my husband can get a better grip on the bottle and without worring about spilling water he''s able to do it a lot easier, (with a little help from me). Thanks again to "good ole" Amazon for helping me out with having "almost everything" online!

From what I understand, these caps are not for transportating your bottle from water source back to your home..these caps are no splash capsthey keep water from splashing out of the bottle when you are inverting bottle onto your cooler..the caps for transporting are just solid plain round snap on caps with no hole in them-just a little lip for ease of pulling off..Ill check to be sure and update if I am incorrect..thanks

Replacement Filters for Aeropress Save 3% Off

Replacement Filters for AeropressThe disclaimer: I do not work for Aerobie. I have no commercial connection with Aerobie. I do confess, however, to owning two (2) Aerobie Aeropresses.

Okay, now for the part you''ve been waiting for, the review:

I''ll make this really simple: throw away all your other coffee makers and use the Aeropress. Well, you can keep your $350 espresso maker and your electric drip coffee maker, your French press, and your ibrik. You won''t USE them anymore, but you can sure keep ''em if you want to.

How serious am I about a good cup of coffee? I roast my own beans. In 1968 when America was brewing coffee in percolators, I saw Michael Caine grind coffee beans in the opening scene of "The Ipcress File" and went right out and searched for coffee beans and a grinder. People thought I was very strange because, after all, "I don''t see the difference between vacuum packed and coffee beans." But I could tell the difference. I used a plastic cone and paper filters back then, a system which has basic flaws overcome by the Aeropress. Whatever kind of coffee you''ve been drinking, it''ll be better if you make it with the Aeropress.

A word about the filters. I can taste the paper in coffee made in those drip makers of various kinds. I cannot taste the paper in coffee made in the Aeropress.

If you grind your own coffee, you don''t have to get an expensive grinder because the Aeropress is not very particular about the fineness or coarseness of the grind. Fine is better. Coarse will work. You could probably pound the beans with a meat tenderizer and come up with a grind that would work okay in the Aeropress. Whatever grind you use, none of the grit will wind up on your teeth because the economical paper filters keep them out of your cup. There are people who do like the tactile sensation of coffee grounds on their teeth such as coffee brewed in a French press or made in an ibrik. I''m not all that fond of it myself.

The coffee that comes out of the south end of the Aeropress is, certainly from a tactile and visual point of view, free from grounds. So? Well, for one thing, there are no grounds still brewing in the coffee you''ve got waiting for you in your stylish thermal carafe or in the cup you''re savoring right at the moment, and that means that the coffee doesn''t get bitter. Think about that for a moment. You get distracted, the coffee in your cup cools off. You nuke it for a few seconds. It''s now hot enough to drink, but it just doesn''t taste right. Or after a few hours in the carafe, the coffee, while it may still be hot enough, has become bitter. This just does not happen with coffee brewed in an Aeropress. Nuke that neglected cold cup of coffee sitting in front of you, and it''s all but indistinguishable from a freshly brewed cup. Pour a hot cup from the carafe a couple of hours after you brewed it, and it''s just like a freshly brewed cup. And when you drain the last drop of coffee from your cup, there are no grounds forming a reverse alluvial fan left behind. This can be a disadvantage to people who tell fortunes by reading coffee grounds. Anybody do that? Even more remarkable is that coffee stored for a day or more in the refrigerator can be reheated without an objectionable loss in quality. It''s perhaps enough to notice, but if that coffee was made in an Aeropress, don''t bet a large amount of money on a taste test, unless you''re a professional taster, that you could tell reheated refrigerated coffee a few days old from a brand-new cup.

The measure that comes with the Aeropress holds three tablespoons which the Aeropress website recommends for a five-ounce cup of coffee. Say what?! Okay, the coffee does not, as in a French press, brew for four minutes; it brews for less than a minute, counting stirring and plunging time. That short time makes for a cup of coffee that''s low in caffeine but with a robust coffee flavor. You can even make coffee with half the amount of water into an espresso cup, and, trust me on this, it is delicious. All the intensity of espresso''s fullness of flavor, but without the bitterness. Now, I have a very good espresso machine, and one day, after having used the Aeropress for several months, I wanted to experience another cup of espresso.

I''m tempted to heave a huge sigh right along in here. Espresso is finicky. My machine (did I mention it''s a good one?) is a semiautomatic. That means that it makes coffee with the same amount of pressure and at the correct temperature every time, but I have to put in the right amount of grounds and those grounds better be ground exactly right. Too fine, and the pump can''t force the water through in 23 seconds, and the coffee will be extremely strong and without crema, that thick foam that''s the hallmark of a correctly brewed espresso. Too coarse, and the pump forces the water through too fast, and you get a weak cup of coffee. And you don''t get crema that time either. So I had to experiment with the grind and the amount to the tune of three tossed shots of espresso before I got one right. Did I mention espresso is finicky? It was quite good, but I discovered that not only is espresso finicky, so am I. I had grown to prefer the simplicity of the forgiving Aeropress. Once you get past getting water to the right temperature, I can''t think of a way you can make a bad cup of coffee with the Aeropress.

And, by the way, I discovered that the correct amount of coffee grounds to use for a cup of espresso in my machine turned out to be the same as one Aeropress coffee measuring scoop.

Making a pot of coffee? Since brewing coffee in the Aeropress takes less than a minute, once you''ve got your water at the right temperature, you can brew up a whole lot of coffee really fast. A note on making coffee with really fresh coffee grounds such as those from beans you''ve just roasted: It foams up like a freshly poured beer. So you''ll not be able to fill the receptacle up to the "4" mark. The solution? Do I have to think of everything?! Fill it to the "3" mark. Do this twice and you''ve made a quart of coffee in perhaps three minutes.

One really endearing feature of the Aeropress is that it''s a snap to clean. You remove the little black filter basket at the bottom of the press, push the grounds into the kitchen wastebasket, rinse off the rubber plunger (look at the photos to see what I mean by "plunger"), rinse the basket. You''re done. Sometimes I swipe the remaining grounds off the plunger with the stirring paddle before I rinse it. The whole operation takes maybe 15 seconds. I have another Aeropress in my office where I work (as a highly paid professional, of course), and my little windowless cubicle -I mean my spacious corner office with panoramic view has no running water. I found that I''m able to clean it almost as well using a damp paper towel. I save the rinse for later.

Now, the word "plastic" has the connotation of "cheap" or "flimsy" for some people. Bear in mind that telephones and bowling balls are plastic, and nobody thinks of those two items as flimsy. The Aeropress is made of what appears to me to be very high quality plastic. There are no rough edges. It''s thick and strong. And it''s made in the United States, something that''s apparently a value for the company. So for all of you who want to buy American, here''s your chance: invented in America by an American and made in America.

The Aeropress requires that the user have the ability and the patience to bring water to the right temperature, 175 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don''t have a thermometer, you''ll have to buy one. I have the kind you can stick into a slab of meat or dunk into an Aeropress. It works just fine, and it''s not very expensive. Under five dollars as I recall at my local hardware store.

How bothersome is it to bring water to the correct temperature? It''s not. I experimented for a few minutes and discovered that in my microwave, water poured to the "3" level on the plunger thingy was brought to the right temperature in one minute on high. How hard is that? Or if you''re not up to measuring the water, just stick your thermometer into the whistle on your teakettle and soon after you hear the water making that noise like it''s about to boil (somewhere around 165 to 170 degrees Fahrenheit), it''ll be at 180 degrees. I like this temperature because when you pour it into the Aeropress plunger, it cools off to just the right temperature of 175. Your mileage may vary.

There might be easier ways to make coffee, but I know of none better.

A note about Amazon. Buy it here. Free shipping? Arrives right at your doorstep? Under $? Best coffee you ever made in your life? What are you waiting for?

This makes a great cup of coffee. One of my favorite discoveries was when I read the instructions and they mentioned rinsing off these filters and reusing them. I had never thought of that, but considering how coffee filters DON''T decompose well in the compost, I love this idea and the amount that comes with the Aeropress will last a long time this way without ordering the extra pack. Just rinse and re-use.

These filters are a part of a system for making coffee/espresso that I love. But when I bought the contraption that makes the coffee, I didn''t realize it came with so many filters.

Save your money and just use those that come with the thing. They will probably last me a year or more--and I drink a lot of coffee--plus, they say you can rinse the filters and use them more than once if you want to be more green and conservative in your filter use.
