Pitcher of Life Alkaline Water Pitcher Save 44% Off

Pitcher of Life Alkaline Water PitcherI am very skeptical about this pitcher. No where on the site does it say how the water is alkalized except that it is filtered. The site and video say there is a difference in the quality of tap and bottled water that their water has minerals calcium , magnesium etc. The word enhanced should be noted as code word for added. So does the filter add additional additives? I assume so. Well from what I''ve read if you want to alkalize your body you can take Calcium magnesium and even adding baking soda to water. But I think baking soda is dangerous and as I have continued researching believe that water ionizers and alkalizers can be a health risk rather than benefit. You do not want Alkalosis or Acidosis. You need a balance between both. And while they use technology designed for Nasa

i highly doubt Nasa indorses these claims and from what year. I just don''t find their video convincing and I find some of their claims a little gimmicky. Researching the company has 21 complaints for BBB and 12 in the last 12 months under the name Earth Trade Water Inc. There is not enough detail on how this product functions to produce alkalized water.

The water out of this pitcher tastes awesome!

A friend of mine turned me on to this, I tried the water out of hers and it tastes amazing! I got mine, they sent it right away, and I couldn''t be happier. This water really tastes better, and I do feel more energy. I was skeptical at first that a pitcher could make that much of a difference, but it does!

This Pitcher of Life is so worth the price, the water really is better.

I love taste of this water but has anyone else had trouble with the pitcher design? It pours out around the spout. I have to use it over the sink and lose a lot of water every time I fill a glass. Also the LED timer didn''t work. The company was incredibly responsive and sent me a new top right away, but that didn''t work either! Great idea, bad execution.

I originally bought this Alkaline water pitcher for my cancer dog, who needs 1-3 gallons of water plus green drinks per day to flush out toxins. I have tested the ph before the water is placed into the jug and after it is filtered.

*Pros* I can see a noticable improvement in Ray''s health since being on the water. His arthritis is better, his skin smells better, and his outlook on life is happier. The whole family uses the pitcher. *Cons* I don''t however like the way the water drips when poured, even when you hold the lid on tightly. This whole lid could be designed differently by not allowing the water to escape once it is in the top tank. Still well worth the money.

I have had the original Pitcher of Life for over a year and am fully convinced of the health benefits of drinking water with a higher PH by how I feel. My body feels hydrated, my skin glows and my stomach just feels better overall. Since I use it so often I decided to get another one and bought the new 2nd Generation Pitcher of Life. Wow! I love this new design. The water pours easier without having to hold the lid real tight and the improved counter is a nice touch too. My cat and dog drink the water and their coats are shinier and healthier looking and to touch. I highly recommend this pitcher! For the price and what it does you can not go wrong! Give your body a gift and start drinking this water!!

I just received this vac from Amazon and already I love it!

Extremely well made and light weight.

Powerful vac and the back end is a "blower".

The blower part is not as powerful as the blowers

the gardeners use but can be quite useful in certain

situations.

As one reviewer mentioned, the flexible hose and

extra filters are not sold on Amazon.

I found both the 3'' and 6'' flexible hoses and

extra filter bags at AutoGeek (dot) net.

I would recommend this vac to anyone wanting

an excellent hand vac.

Pleased with the product. It is more powerful than the other rechargeable portables that I have. The length of the electrical cord is sufficient to reach the extreme corners of my motorhome from the mid outlet. I like the fact that it has a stainless steel body and not plastic.

This vacuum has great design and SUPER suction. The cord is nice and long a big plus. We use it to suck up dirt, ash and wood particles around the hearth of our wood burning stove (obviously NOT hot ash)--and for the stairway and will also be using it to clean inside our cars. Would give it 5 stars but wish the paper-type filter held a bit more and was washable and permanent (i.e., nylon or metal fine mesh)instead of needing to order filters although you CAN empty and re-use the filter several times as is and two filters come with the vacuum. We really love it and are very pleased with the purchase. It''s a terrific vacuum!

I bought this vacuum to replace my Dirt Devil. I am a professional auto detailer and wanted something powerful, yet small. I got tired of lugging around the house sized canister. The battery rechargable vacuums on the market don''t have enough power for my needs. I was quite surprised to find that it actually cleaned the interior of the car with vigor! Compact and easy to use, sturdy as well. Love the stainless steel design.

The only drawback for me is that the steel body gets hot to the touch after being on for a bit. if you are not using it for work and just picking up a little mess in the house or doing the stairs, this probably won''t be an issue. Also, I will have to empty the bag more on such a small vacuum. I plan to buy the reusable cloth bag to save money on purchasing throwaway bags. Moreover, I am purchasing the shoulder strap Metro Vac sells on their web site to solve the problem of the vacuum body getting hot to my touch. That, along with the flexible hose, will keep me from having to constantly touch the vacuum while using. These issues don''t keep me from giving it 5 stars or from recommending this product to others. On top of all the good stuff, it is made in the U.S.A!

Copco 2510-9963 Acadia Reusable To-Go Mug

Copco 2510-9963 Acadia Reusable To-Go Mug, 16-Ounce Capacity, BrownI''ve used my Copco cup DAILY now for 22 months. No kidding! How the the 1-star rated folks managed to crack their lids or that they complain about leaks is beyond logic. I don''t see how either is possible. Perhaps they microwave the lid. That would destroy the rubber seal eventually.

I''ve now used this cup EVERY single day since I bought it and I only have one complaint: the temperature drops faster than I would expect too cold to drink after 20 minutes or less. Although I''m disappointed, I continue using the cup anyway. It''s fine for your desk or a short trip to the office. Also, the cup does stain rather easy just drop an Alka-Seltzer in it and let it soak for 6 or more hours.

MSRP: $7.99

I came across this Copco cup while out shopping, looked it over and thought "wow, this is perfect for me". Although I own several costlier double-insulated stainless steel cups, they have one problem ... you can''t reheat your coffee in the microwave. This Copco cup solves that problem.

You''d think this was a Styrofoam cup until you pick it up. It''s very well made, solid & sturdy, and has a twist-on lid with a rubber seal. Surprising to learn: double-insulation! It''s top dishwasher safe although I hand-wash mine. The dark rubberized brown band makes it non-slip. It''s microwavable but I recommend: remove the lid so you don''t shorten the life of the rubber seal.

The only improvement I could suggest: Add a swiveled rubber plug for the lid hole just like what a typical to-go cup has. (stay hot longer). I highly recommend this Copco cup, sent one to my picky brother, and will buy an extra spare for myself.

Cheers,

Jeff

Pros:

microwave safe

dishwasher safe

does not have that plastic smell

good quality plastic which keeps the stuff hot but feels good in hand

Nice soft rubber grip

fits in all cup holders

Cons:

none so far

I bought two of these Copco Cups. Excellent design and the seal is quite good. I never had a drinking disaster in my car.

Ok. I''ve used this five times a week with Hot Coffee brewed at home. Initially I noticed no taste of plastic or smell. Since then, about three months later, I now notice a plastic smell and a taste that has infused into the coffee. I think it is a good product, but I think a ceramic mug may be better here. I would keep the design exactly the same but use ceramic for the body and perhaps the same plastic top with the same seal. Ceramic never has any taste.

It is close, but not perfect for me.

I just received this as an Easter gift and had to come rave about it. This is my new favorite travel mug. Like other reviewers have said, it doesn''t have a plastic smell, which is a big plus. The cap twists on tightly and has an inside rubber seal to prevent leakage. Surprisingly, even though the inside is white, it hasn''t become stained by my coffee (I''ve used it for 3 days and haven''t run through the dishwasher, just rinsed in the sink). The grip is comfortable. It keeps my coffee warm for hours and doesn''t become too hot to hold, like many other travel mugs. Plus, it is the right size to fit in a car cupholder.

I recommend this! Plus, if you buy one in pink, some of the proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

I really like this mug. I have had many before, but this one is by far the best. The only thing to remember is that the brown sleve comes off and I find that I have to take it off to wash it, or it gets a mildewy smell from water just sitting underneath it. Besides that, Great cup. Oh, and it has a really good gasket system, so when the lid is on there will be no drips from the threads.

Update: I have been using a combination of 3 of these for 3 years now and still love them. They work great and are very durable. I dropped one on the lid and the lid cracked, but besides that I am very happy with the purchase and would absolutely buy them again, if I ever need to.

Made in the USA but priced competitively to all the others. Super high quality water filter system. It''s called an under the counter system but I used it to replace an aging system installed in the basement that never produced enough water. Since I was replacing an existing system it took be very little time, less than an hour including removing the old system, and I forced myself to go slowly and check everything twice.

Great easy to follow instructions and everything you need to get it done. It makes enough water for my family of 4 that we never run out and I even have it sending water to the ice maker. And we''re big water drinkers, refill our own water bottles, make Coffee and Tea, use the RO for cooking, etc. It''s all you''ll need.

If you have trouble with basic plumbing (I don''t) hire a plumber for the water source tap and drain. But otherwise it''s easy to do if you have even a basic ability for home repairs.

You don''t need similar systems that are $50-100 more.

Want 50 Gallon Per Day 5-Stage Home Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System Discount?

Previous reviews and the price led me to buy this unit. A unit with half the capacity is being sold for $70 more at my local home improvement store so it was kind of a no-brainer. The only real problem I experienced with installation was that they only include a kit to hook up to a 1/2" riser. I ended up purchasing a 3/8" pipe X 3/8" pipe X 1/4" tube tee fitting and just not installing the additional isolation valve since the angle stop is right there anyway. If I do want the supply isolation in the future, it seems easier to buy a 1/4" valve and put it on the supply close to the unit itself. I also had to go back and use teflon tape on the threads for the plastic isolation valve at the top of the tank even though the instructions didn''t mention it (they had explicitly mentioned the teflon use on other steps, so I thought they left the teflon step off on purpose). Overall, the instructions were very easy for me to follow. They seemed like they were written by somebody that understands English.

The purge of the unit was a bit time consuming. You have to purge the air for about an hour, let the system fill completely and drain twice before getting drinkable water (each filling operation could take up to 6 hours, it only took about 3 with our water quality and pressure). After the initial setup, I tested total dissolved solids in the water. My unfiltered tap water has TDS 162 ppm, the Arrowhead bottled water we had been using came in at 101 ppm, the RO unit measured 10 ppm. The water tastes great, everything we cook with this water such as rice and pasta tastes better. Overall I think it''s great.

I got the same system with new one that I bought. with the new one, the water shot out to the drain line strong and stay ran for more than an hours. I have to turn off the water inlet and reopen it, so the water will stop shoot out the drain line. Everytime I use the water from the system, the water will run to the drain line for more than it should. I did email to the seller and they told me it normal. I got the problem with my main inlet pressure... Why my old system did not do this. Anyway I should buy from the local dealer, because warranty or replacement is more easy down to the road. My English level is ESL. I think you know what I talking about and forgot about grammar.

Ge 12-cup Digital Coffee Maker

Ge 12-cup Digital Coffee MakerI bought this product a week ago to replace an aging "M.C" which had given good service over the years but which would not support further cleaning and was perennially slow. My wife selected it, and I couldn''t find any other product I preferred either.

A first note is that this is a later model than the recalled unit anything on the shelves now will be, so perspective buyers shouldn''t need to worry about that.

The machine does exactly what it should: it brews a regular pot of standard strength coffee in eight minutes, as it promises. I also tried the gourmet mode. I thought at first that it would be a gimmick, but it actually makes a different cup of coffee. The regular brew cycle makes your "general drinking, keep it coming, restaurant style" coffee, while the gourmet mode (which uses more grounds and less water, brews at higher power, and therefore is faster to brew) makes the connoisseur style, stronger coffee for after dinner or for the morning after a good party the style of coffee for which you would buy premium beans. I do use premium beans, and I was extremely happy with its performance in that mode too.

A note about strength: if you''re replacing a older, slower machine, you might notice your first pot being weak, and that you need slightly more coffee grounds than you did with the slower machine. That makes sense, because it brews faster, like it should. The advantage is that you''ll get a "cleaner" cup less bitter so it''ll be worth it. I quickly adjusted by the second pot. I use an electric grinder with a timer, so it was easier to lengthen the time slightly issue resolved.

A note about the nylon filter might be helpful. A nylon mesh cannot be as fine as a paper filter, so you will get a little silt in the carafe (in both modes). Like many coffee lovers, I actually like a little sediment in my coffee it makes it more complex and wholesome in my opinion but if you don''t, simply allow it to settle for a couple of minutes before serving, pour gently as as not to stir up the sediment, and don''t pour right to the bottom of the carafe. Alternatively, use paper filters. I would not use regular paper filters with the gourmet mode, as the higher flow rate may overwhelm the finer filter. I understand "B" (the folks who make pour-over type brewers) make a paper filter for fast brew machines like theirs that should work well in this product, though I haven''t tried them yet. I also wouldn''t advocate the use of paper filters with the nylon filter you might slow the water flow and overflow the machine.

The handy splash shield that pops up when you open the water reservoir lid does what it should helps the water go where it should (and not down the back of the unit) if access to the top of the your unit is limited by cupboard space, etc.

The carafe has a comfortable handle, and does not drip under normal use. Any adult of coffee drinking age ought to have sufficiently developed motor skills to pour from a lip-spouted vessel. If you do spill, it''s not the fault of the carafe. Hold the carafe such that you pour out of the center-line of the spout and not the side, and it will do exactly what it''s supposed to do.

The black finish of the product is not the hard, shiny plastic we''re used to, so some might call it cheap. On the other hand it has a nice non-slip quality to it, so the machine is easy to move around safely, for example while washing the outside.

The display is back-lit an exuberant blue subtlety is not a word that comes to mind here but the color is pleasant, and the brightness is uniform so it doesn''t glare. You certainly won''t need another nightlight in your kitchen, though! The buttons on the panel light up blue when active, and some of the blue light from the display bleeds across to the on/off and auto buttons on either side of it when they are off (this confused my wife briefly), but you soon figure it out, and it''s not a problem in any sense: in fact the spill-over actually helps you locate those buttons in dim light, so I consider it a feature!

The basket assembly comes out for easy cleaning no problems there.

The unit does not blow steam any more than any other coffee maker (it''s going to vent a little it boils water, so it''s bound to), so it won''t damage the underside of face of your cabinets.

The unit gives a happy little "beep-beep" when coffee is ready. It has auto shut-off which you can set for 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes, which I find very handy: if you live in shame as a "closet coffee reheater" like we do, it''s handy to set the time to 30 minutes so you don''t stew the coffee. Then you can "nuke" a cup in the early afternoon and not be disappointed. Lesser machines have a standard 2 hour timeout which, if they keep coffee hot enough to drink for that long, will stew it too. The "TSB" ("time since brew") button tells you how long your coffee has been sitting on the hot plate, in case you didn''t use the timer to start it. Oh, and the timer? You set it for the time you want the coffee to be ready, not the time it should turn on, so you don''t have to do complex arithmetic at bedtime!

A note for the guys: I know we don''t normally do this, but do read the instructions the features will make it worth it.

Only negative? I''d have liked a nicer finish and slightly heavier, more robust plastic parts, but it''s in line with what the market offers these days at this price range, and I have no regrets.

As a final comment, after returning home after a business trip this week, my wife commented unsolicited "I''m glad we bought this coffee maker". I guess we''re keeping it, then :-)

Bought at Walmart for 19.95 or close to that. Have made twenty or more half full pots of coffee. Not the slowest brewer of this type that I have ever used, but not very fast. Good tasting coffee. I thought the little charcoal filters were a good idea and probably helped the taste compared to our previous brewer. However, the only place I could find the replacement filters was through Amazon and their cost (with shipping) was higher than an angry cat''s back. After about two weeks, one of the little tangs that hold the flapping lid in the carafe slot broke for no apparent reason. So now the lid comes off easily. Poor design or quality control on that lid in my opinion. If you can find something with better recommendations for same price or only $10 more I suggest you buy the something else.

purchased at store. ran water through as recommended when new, then ran coffee through. very smooth tasting, nice and hot. 4 cups/4 small scoops. (using the included large/small scoop) Nice features. Not slow like other say. Sounds like a coffee maker when brewing, never heard a quiet one. only issue I have had is some very tiny coffee grounds got through the filter (preground coffee), I typically grind my own and use the coarse setting, if I use preground coffee I will use a paper filter.

I bought this coffee maker because of the automatic shut off feature as well because it does not require filters. It worked good for the first few months but I did notice a large amount of steam and I had to move it almost to the edge of my counter so it would not warp my cabinets. Then I noticed it started leaking a little when I took the pot out from under the drip. When I went to wipe the coffee off some of the coating came off of the warming plate. Then it started shutting off during the brew. I looked up the error and it said I needed to run a cleaning cycle. Now, since the cleaning cycle, it turns off after only brewing for 30 seconds, then I''ll turn it back on and it will brew very slowly until there is 2 cups left in the reservoir. This whole process takes about 20 minutes for me to get 1 cup of coffee that takes awful. I am throwing this out and hopefully getting something else tomorrow.

12" Sediment 5 Micron Filter

  • Removes a wide range of contaminants, including Sediment, Chlorine and Organic chemicals
  • 1" inlet/outlet for big flow with NEW all-metal fittings!!!
  • Pressure Release Button for fast release of the whole house water filter pressure
  • Standard replacement cartridges 2.5" x 20" (one set of three is already included: 1 Sediment + 1 GAC Carbon + 1 CTO Carbon).

This filter is a good idea and fairly priced, however the fittings that thread into each end are poorly manufactured and thought out. The 1" NPT pipe fitting has to be screwed in to rubber washers on each end, no the directions don''t say this there are no directions included, after several trial and error attempts I found one side needed two washers and the other side needed three, there were five washers included. The supplied fittings are for 1" NPT fittings to be threaded in, I used PEX fittings with teflon tape and they both leaked. No amount of tightening would stop the leaks, they were really tight too. I finally took them out, cleaned off the tape and put red Loctite on them and let them dry over night, problem solved, no leaks at the fittings. I already had to replace one of the O rings on the filter as is was cut from the factory, I found the bad O ring before I Installed the filters after taking their wrappers off. There isn''t anything to hold them in place and you have to very carefull they don''t slip out of place when you screw the cartridge back on. The filter seems to work fine, but it''s like a lot of stuff from China, second rate. You can make it work if you really want to. I think I''d pass next time though.

Once I got this product installed I really like it regarding water quality. The assembly instructions were very bad and there were extra washers in the pack that we didn''t know what to do with. My buddy has been a plumber for many years and we continued to agree and disagree on what to do with the extra washers etc. We threaded it on several times with two washer and then with one until we settled on what we felt would work... we were lucky and the unit did not leak so I feel we guessed accurately. Putting this thing together should be a very easy thing to do without much previous knowledge. The lack of directions and extra parts actually made it worse. If we had used our common sense rather than try to follow directions it would have been done much sooner... that all being said the worse thing about this product is installing the filters. You have to line the filter up with the center bottom of the glass tube and the center of the base unit... when you thread the glass tube up inside the unit the filter falls to one side forcing it to be not aligned... It takes about 10-15 trys per filter to get it to sit in the center and thread the bowl on... about put me over the edge. I guess I will have to deal with that every six months. My friend has more patience than me and that helped. You might need a six pack to calm your nerves first.

Bottom line,

1) very poor directions

2) Extra parts you end up needing after throwing away directions and doing it the way you feel best.

3) Filter alignment issues that will make you crazy.

4) Very good price

5) Very good water

It only took us a couple of hours to install. Had to redirect plumbing and add shutoff valves on both sides plus I added a bypass valve to eliminate if I didnt like it. Wish my outside hose bibs were on separate lines. They were not in my house so I have filtered water to clean cars and water garden... not best case and will eventually rerun these lines. If building a new house make sure those lines outside hose bibs are dedicated lines so you can separate them and only filter inside water.

Once it is installed you only have to deal with it every six months. Invite a patient friend over for a beer.

FQROPF Profile Reverse Osmosis Filters (2-Pack)

FQROPF Profile Reverse Osmosis Filters
  • PRE AND POST FILTER SET
  • Works with the following models: General Electric PNRQ15FBL, General Electric PNRQ20FBB
  • General Electric PNRQ20FBL, General Electric PNRQ20FWW, General Electric PXRQF15F

I''ve owned this for more than a year, and it has been totally trouble free. The install was pretty straight forward, and the water quality is excellent. The only thing I would suggest is replacing the first charcoal filter inline every three months, and the pair of charcoal filters every six. At a year the reverse osmosis filter is starting to clog, so it will be replaced next month. Overall I highly recommend this system.

The GE Profile reverse osmosis (RO) system is still the best value out there for your typical household of 6 or less. We are rather heavy users of RO water, and only rarely drain the tank from our use. Our system has been in service for 5 years, still works perfectly. Note that there is NO difference between the preand post-filters, same exact filter: FQROPF. You can save yourself a lot of unnecessary expense by replacing only the post-filter every 6 months, and moving the previous post-filter to the pre-filter position. If your tap water is extremely bad, you may need to make the filter change more often, say 3 months. If that is the case, or you have lots of sediment, then a separate "pre"-pre-filter (like a large whole-house filter) may be your best solution. As long as you protect your RO membrane with routine filter changes, the membrane will last at least a year, and more likely at least 24 months. Inspect your post-filter at every change, and if the water you can pour/shake out is still clean and clear, then it will do very nicely as the pre-filter for the next six months. My last RO membrane was changed at 22 months (oops, missed its birthday!) and an inspection of the entire membrane revealed that it was still pristine and less than 20% occluded, with no degradation found. Amazon usually has the best price for these filters!

I used to buy bottled water until I bought a great GE R/O unit. I have had this 3-4 years and still produces great tasting water and I *still* can get the filters through Amazon. One of the reasons I love Amazon is they sell OEM products for a long time after they aren''t the newest thing on the shelves and it is place for one-stop shopping on items that used to take much more time to find.

Thanks for supplying a great product at a good price. We hope to do business with you again very soon.

BUNN BT Velocity Brew 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Home Coffee Brewer Save 20% Off

BUNN BT Velocity Brew 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Home Coffee Brewer, BlackI bought this brewer in October. At first I was very happy with it. Then the carafe started leaking so bad it was ridiculous. I called Bunn a couple of days ago and the lady told me to wash the spout and the seal around the rim with Dawn dishwashing soap (she specifically said Dawn which I happened to have on hand) and the carafe would perform much better. She said that after a number of uses the oil from the coffee keeps the seal from sealing well. I hung up fully expecting to call her back in a few minutes. I washed the carafe as she suggested and it works like new again... no leaks!! If you have this pot, try it, you''ll be amazed at the difference. Now I love this brewer again!

****Update 10-5-11****Unit has died (heating element apparently went out). Now out of warranty since it has been 4 years. On the one had I hate to spend $135+ to get a new one, but on the other hand, once you''ve had one of these things, it''s hard to go back to the traditional coffeemaker. It did make great coffee for 4 years, and I loved having my coffee ready in just a minute or two. Despite the fact that I would have liked to get more than 4 years out of my original purchase, I will probably buy another one.

****Update 2-27-09****

My coffee maker developed a leak. I dusted off my original paperwork, and was very happy to see that this unit comes with a 3 year warranty. I sent it back to Bunn, and they sent me a brand new unit. Painless and relatively quick (less than a week). Yet another reason to buy a Bunn. The only thing I would mention is that I had to pay to have the old unit shipped back to them. Cost me $13 UPS, so it''s not really that big a deal, but I just have this old fashioned notion that if something is covered by warranty, it shouldn''t cost the consumer a penny to get it fixed or replaced.

****Original Review****

I don''t see why anyone would buy a traditional glass carafe coffeemaker. The heating element scorches the coffee after about 15-20 minutes, so if you haven''t finished the pot by then, you end throwing the rest away. At least I used to, until I discovered thermal carafes years ago.

I really like this coffeemaker. I am a big coffee drinker, and I usually make 1 pot in the morning, 1 pot in the afternoon, and 1 pot at night. The quality of the coffee that it brews is excellent, and I like the fact that the coffee is ready in 3 minutes.

A few other observations:

-I have not had any problem with the carafe. No spills or dribbles, and it keeps the coffee piping hot for a good 90 minutes, and then drinkably hot for another 2 hours. I especially like the fact that you don''t need to open and close the lid to pour the coffee. The lids stays in the closed position while the coffee is brewing and it stays in the closed position when you pour it from the carafe.

-I have not had any problem with the basket overflowing or grinds in my coffee, but I have noticed that the grinds rise up to the tippy top of the filter, and I use Bunn filters which are a little taller than most. Although I have not had a problem myself, I can see where someone who likes an extra strong brew and adds a little more coffee might have an issue. For me it works, and I use about 10 tablespoons of coffee per full pot.

-I don''t particularly like the automatic feature that starts the brewing cycle as soon as you close the lid to the water chamber. I would prefer to have a button to press, but its not a huge deal for me. Like another reviewer, I can see potential disaster if I have company or overnight guests and they want to make the coffee, and I haven''t briefed them on how the machine works.

-Price is high when compared to the Mr. Coffee type machines with glass carafes, but I really do notice a difference in the taste of the coffee when I visit friends and they break out their $30 coffee maker after dinner. I think the price is a fair price for what you get, and although I haven''t had it long enough to comment on its durability, Bunn typically makes products that stand up over time.

-The entire machine does have a rather large footprint, and it is bit taller than many coffeemakers. I have alot of counter space and my cabinets are high, so its not an issue for me, but do yourself a favor and take 30 seconds to measure the space where you intend to put the machine to make sure it will fit nicely.

Overall, if you''re into good coffee, and you''re willing to spend the money, and you''re willing to overlook a few very minor flaws (see above) I would highly recommend this machine.

We purchased this to replace an aging Mr. Coffee. The Mr. Coffee was programmable, which was nice when I remembered, but when I didn''t it could take nearly 20 minutes to brew a pot. That is a long wait in the morning. We considered this or the Braun programmable, which appeared to be rated well, but I couldn''t determine how long it took to brew. I knew I wanted speed.

I got speed. This thing is fast. By two and a half minutes its down to waiting on the last drips to come out of the basket. The coffee''s flavor is excellent, but a little weaker than I like. I upped the amount of coffee to the recommended tbsp per cup (which would yield very bitter coffee on other machines I''ve had) and its back to where I like it. A darker roasted coffee would also add a lot of strength. I enjoy the fact that the coffee doesn''t sit on a burner and cook too. The carafe has done a great job of keeping the coffee hot for hours at a time. I''ve had no real trouble about the carafe dripping.. this may be because the Mr. Coffee trained me to go slower to avoid such drips.

Another point: I checked and the Bunn filters ARE taller than my others. The coffee grinds do get pretty high on the filter, so I can imagine that getting off-brand filters would get you grinds in your coffee. Just buy the Bunn filters at your local megamart. They''re not that expensive. Also, decaf and/or finely ground coffee does sometimes overflow the filter anyway. The manual mentions this and offers a free replacement sprayhead to improve this. We don''t drink a huge amount of decaf, so I don''t think we''ll ask for it.

I''ve tried some premium coffees again, and am happy to report that they are worth it now. A good coffeemaker does make a difference in the quality of the coffee.

Pros: Very fast. Coffee tastes very good. No burning the coffee on the carafe warmer. Keeps the coffee hot. Did I mention fast?

Cons: Coffee seems a tad weak. Very finely ground coffee, and decaf, sometimes overflow the filter a bit. I wish it had a button to press to brew instead of closing the top.. I foresee a big mess if company is up before me (It starts pouring coffee out the basket as soon as you close the lid, you HAVE to have the carafe in place).

Would I have been happy with the Braun? Probably. But I bet its not as fast, and after years of inadequate coffeemakers, I''m happy to have one this quick, and making coffee this good.

We received this coffeemaker as an upgrade when our last Bunn was recalled due to a manufacturing defect. (NB: Bunn has excellent customer service and is conscientious about recall notifications, and I recommend the company highly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product.) We have been fans of Bunn coffeemakers for years; our first home machine provided us with at least 14,000 pots of fresh, hot coffee before it succumbed to the ravages of time and Minnesota''s hard water. We tried very hard to like this model, but ultimately its flaws outweighed its benefits, and we are now shopping for a new coffee maker. The flaws include:

An incredibly drippy carafe. There does not seem to be any way to predict when it will drip or in which direction. Sometimes only a few drops fall from the carafe; sometimes, it spills 1/4 to 1/2 cup of coffee across the countertop.

The internal assembly (which Bunn fans will know is cleaned with a tightly coiled metal reaming spring) is much more difficult to clean in this unit than in our past ones.

This model also seems far less forgiving of our hard water than previous ones and requires cleaning much more frequently. We''ve had trouble with calcium buildup even with softened water in both the brewer and the lid of the carafe. This and the completely opaque carafe (in combination with our increasing age and forgetfulness) have led to some huge messes in the kitchen, with coffee running over and even into the cabinets below the coffee maker.

Like most thermal carafes, this one does not keep the coffee warm enough for us, and we go through coffee very quickly. I don''t see this working at all for most people.

On the brighter side, you will have a fast cup of coffee most of the time, and you will be doing business with a company that deserves its good reputation. If you ask me, though, I''d suggest you buy the model without the thermal carafe unless you own stock in a paper towel company.

This brewer surprised me a little when I received it. First of all, it is fairly difficult to figure out because it holds two pots of water at a time. For most of us, this is a strange concept. However, it works well because one pot''s worth of water stays hot all the time and the other that you pour in, replenishes the hot water in the lower chamber. It seems like a waste of enrgy to me so I put it on a timer to keep it from sitting there at 170 degrees or so all the time.

It brews a great pot of coffee at the proper temperature unlike many thermal carafe units.

All in all a great unit. But if you don''t do well at programming VCRs than this isn''t the unit for you. This is unit is probably geared more toward commercial or constant use. It brews a pot of coffee FAST as in three minutes because the water is already hot.

The carafe itself is very well made if not a bit tricky at first. You use your thumb to push the top part of the handle counterclockwise while holding the handle in your hand to get the top started so you can open it. Again, a little counter intuitive at first but very well made.

I like the Bunn better than any coffee maker I have owned, ever, but be prepared to have to give multiple lessons on its use to other family members.

We purchased two IQ Air (very large household air purifiers) before our relocation to Beijing China, and were at a loss as to what to do with the long commutes in Beijing''s traffic. Found these Philips units here at Amazon and packed them as well. Well the unit works exactly as advertised -cleans the air to the extent that you can both see & smell the difference! The horrendously bad Air Quality Index -the US embassy famously called it "Crazy Bad", makes us very aware of what precautions the family can take to mitigate the risk. This GoPure system, the Totobobo masks, and the AQI''s make it bearable! Need an in-car air cleaner? Get this GoPure, I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent product to use. My wife has severe issues with chemical smells and wouldn''t use or get in my car unless it was absolutely necessary. Since getting the Philips GoPure filter, she has noticed a dramatic reduction in the smell and has started to use the vehicule. We''ll worth the price I paid for it.

I am returning this product. I have significant pollen allergies. With this unit already on, within 5 minutes of turning the air conditioning on--even with the vents turned toward the floor and away from my face--I started sneezing, just like before. I live in Texas, and you have to use air conditioning if you don''t want to sweat ridiculously in your car. (March 11, 2013)

Mr. Coffee Fresh Iced Tea Maker Save 8% Off

Mr. Coffee TM70 3-Quart Iced Tea Maker, 3-Quart, BlueI''ve read the other reviews and I had to write my own since I have had nothing but a positive experience with this tea maker. First of all, I don''t know why some others have experienced leaking from the front since it hasn''t leaked a drip for me. All you have to do is push the pitcher in all the way and it''s a perfect fit. Also, all of my water is being emptied from the reservoir and I''ve never had a problem with it. I actually own both, the TM3-2 and this TM70. I bought the TM3-2 first for one location and I later bought this one conveniently at Wal-Mart for $18 for home. I like the plastic used for the TM70 better since it doesn''t seem as cheap, it doesn''t stain as much and it''s dishwasher safe. I also like how the TM70 only has one opening for the tea to leave and go into the pot. There''s a possibility that one of the other reviewers had the opening plugged up to cause an overflow, a finely ground tea might cause that. That may also cause the brewer to automatically stop and not brew all of the water from the reservoir, but I don''t know. The TM3-2 has an opening at the top just in case water is overflowing, but this causes the water to go straight into the pitcher without brewing the tea. There are other points I like better about the TM70 design, but I can go on about why I like the TM70 better. I guess it''s different strokes for different folks. Maybe I just got lucky to buy one without any flows or it''s user error.

I had an earlier Mr. Coffee Ice Tea Maker before this one and it was awesome. I loved it. The only problem was that it just got old from lots of use and the pitcher and tea bag holder started breaking. So I bought a new one for Christmas this year. This model. And it is absolutely horrible. The problem appears to be that as the tea is coming down out of the top of the unit and trying to drop into the pitcher, the unit starts acting up and the hot tea starts getting distributed onto the sides of the unit around the end of the pitcher, instead of falling directly into the end of the pitcher, and it leaks all over the counter. Horrible, horrible design. I do not understand how Mr. Coffee hasn''t been sued over this piece of crap model yet from having it burn someone. I''m returning mine and I''ll think twice about buying another Mr. Coffee model again.

I love sweet tea and was really excited to get this. I was pretty disappointed. I could have put up with the fact that it was leaky and spilled easily and was pretty hard to clean, if only it made good tea. The tea didn''t taste good was way too bitter and when I followed the instructions for making sweet tea that came with it I only ended up with mildly sweet very bitter tea with a mess of undissolved sugar inside. I''d rather boil a pot of water on the stove than mess with this tea maker.

Wow interesting to see I''m not the only one experiencing problems with this thing! It made great tea the first few times I used it. In fact I was amazed that I could use the contents of of only 3 tea bags for making 2 quarts and still come out with delicious tea. After the first few uses however the infamous leaking problem started where I''d find about 1/2 cup of tea in a puddle on my counter when the brewing was finished. At first I thought it was just when I made 3 quarts worth of tea but then it started hapening with 1 & 2 Quarts as well. It doesn''t happen every time but it''s at the point where I''m afraid to leave the machine unattended for fear of returning to a big mess. I suspect the seeping basket is the culpret here. It fills up fast, is VERY slow to empty and is too small to be effective at preventing overflow.

The Sharper Image EV-HD10 Cool Mist Ultrasonic 1-Gallon Humidifier

The Sharper Image EV-HD10 Cool Mist Ultrasonic 1-Gallon Humidifier with Clean Mist TechnologyI purchased this ultrasonic humidifier a year ago for my two boys, who seem to always be congested either with colds or seasonal allergies or due to the dry air from our A/C. Prior to having this one, we went through a couple humidifiers (either warm or cool mist) a season because they either broke down, didn''t do a good enough job, leaked, or were too difficult to clean. This humidifier works like a DREAM and is so very VERY easy to clean. I love that I can turn the dial to output the desired amount of mist. It''s super quiet, too. I know others have said they''ve had problems with theirs being too noisy or becoming noisy after awhile, but I have not experienced that problem. I''ve also read that some complain about the demineralization cartridge not working for as long as stated or costing too much. I can agree and sympathize there, but folks...you don''t have to buy that cartridge. Just use distilled water. It does the same job, and you can pick up the gallong jugs from your grocery store. While this humidifier IS easy to clean, the manufacturer recommends you do clean the water tank every two to three weeks as well as the water inlet and ultrasonic nebulizer, which are behind a panel that pops off. Don''t forget that little bit of maintenance; it''s important. I have to say, I LOVE that there are no mold issues with this humidifier compared to other cheaper ones I have used. All in all, after having gone through a multitude of humidifiers before purchasing this one I would recommend it hands down. Best humidifier purchase yet!

With winter upon us, my wife and I initially bought a standard humidifier that boils the water into a warm vapor. It worked well at getting the air "moist" and raising the temperature of the room a bit but having to refill AND clean the thing on almost a daily basis was way too annoying. It also made a small, but decent amount of noise when the water was bubbling. In the end, the tank got a small crack which threw off the pressure, so it leaked everywhere.

Fast forward to our new Sharper Image humidifier. Filled up the tank, plugged it in, and instantaneous mist! I probably played with the thing for 5min just amazed at the ultrasonic technology. There literally is just a tiny plate that vibrates with such a high frequency that it creates this misty, fog like stream of vapor. The different level settings work out well to it''s not a simply high, med, low it''s a turn dial so it''s easy to get it at the exact output you''re looking for. We''ve found that a mid-high level will keep the bedroom at a nice humidity and the tank lasts about 3-4 days (running only at night). Noise level is almost silent. The best part? The inside doesn''t get a disgusting since it''s ultrasonic so no more daily cleaning! After a month of use I opened the thing up to scrub it down, and there was barely any residue or film to clean. The negatives? You will get the "white dust" around the room if you don''t put demineralization tablets in a on monthly basis, and having a cool mist can be a little chilling in the winter until your heating catches up with it. All in all we highly recommend this humidifier.

The GOOD:

-Super quiet

-Tank lasts 3-4 days when run at night, med level

-Minimal to no cleaning required

-Keeps our air humid but not saturated

-Very customizable level

-Night light for the kids

The BAD:

-Need demineralization tablets or white dust becomes a problem

-Cool mist in winter is brisk

-Nasty green sticker on the front is ugly and takes time to take off

I bought this at Bed, Bath and Beyond in October for use after sinus surgery. Initially, is was silent, but after about 12 nights of use, started making a whirring fan noise which is disturbing when you are trying to sleep. Turned it on one night and the noise was so loud (like an electric lawn mower sound), I returned it to the store and they gave me another one. Last night, I turned the new one on and it was silent for about 1 hour, then the new one started making the whirring noise. This is not acceptable so I will give The Sharper Image one more chance as I really do like the mist it throws off. I am returning the 2nd one this weekend and will get a 3rd. Hope this one works as stated in the advertising. My daughter has the same model and has had no problems with it for the 4 or so months she''s had it.

Humidifiers seems to only last one season in my house but are almost a requirement for my family''s allergies. We''ve had Honeywells, Holmes and Crane models. They have all been insanely hard to clean, noisy and/or difficult to fill. I couldn''t be happier with the Sharper Image model!

1. The light has a nice glow to it for a good night-light in my daughter''s room. It can be turned off though for the master bedroom where we don''t want an extra light while we''re trying to sleep.

2. It is very quiet. In my bedroom, it is about 2 feet from my head on my bedside table and I really don''t notice it. If I concentrate, I can hear the soft sound of the mist coming out as well as the slightest gurgle now and then (about as loud as gently tapping a key on a computer keyboard 2-3 times).

3. Cleaning has not been an issue. It even came with a demineralizing tab to put in the tank to keep the water from causing a chalky build-up. Water does sit in the base when the tank has emptied, so I try to wipe out the excess every week or so.

4. Though the tank doesn''t fit perfectly in the bathroom sink to fill it, it is doable. All of the other ones I''ve had needed to be filled either in the tub or the kitchen sink.

5. The tank runs all night and into the day at half setting (perfect for a standard bedroom). The box says 8 hours per tank which is probably what it runs when at a higher setting.

6. This was one of the top-rated humidifiers on Consumer Reports. That should tell you something!

I''ve only been using the first for a month and the second for half that, but I am thrilled. I have a good feeling these will make it completely through the winter and be ready for next year! Highly, highly, highly recommended!

We like this humidifier but are discouraged at the price of the cartridges, which must be replaced every 30-40 fillings. $20 a cartridge is expensive. They keep the machines from building up minerals on the inside.

Mr. Coffee CJX21CP 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, BlackI''m reading all of these reviews and it makes me chuckle. I bought my first one 3 4 years ago and it served us well for that time. 2 3 pots per day, it had a lot of use. I do miss the back light, but I never really used it to program the night before anyway.

Someone said the decanter drips.....well lift the lid a bit and it won''t.

Someone said theirs stopped brewing defective?? within warranty, return it / exchange it. Had it for a while?? Clean it that is why there is a cleaning function.

I purchased from the Marketplace for my most recent unit got a great deal and it brews like a charm better than Starbucks!! -I love the choice of brew we always go for the stronger using fresh ground French Roast or Sumatra. - Love it Love IT!!

This unit was obviously perfectly engineered -it lasted exactly sixteen days past the expiration of the one-year warranty. When it failed to heat up, I knew that I had been had by ''ol Mr. Coffee for a second time... this machine''s predecessor had expired at 14 months. I had hoped that the earlier failure was just a fluke, so I took a chance and bought another one. Silly mistake. There will not be a third. Out of morbid curiosity, I took it apart and performed an autopsy. I had initially hoped the problem was one of the two cheap thermal fuses inside, but it turned out that the heating element had burned out, so the whole thing went into the trash. It would appear that the Sunbeam folks who make these lovely things have cracked the code on building them to last precisely long enough to squeak past the warranty....similar to a Kleenex. They will not get another penny of my hard earned money.

My wife bought a Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Water Filtration, and after a couple of weeks this model stopped brewing coffee. I''m guessing there must be some kind of check valve that was sticking because, you know, as a last resort hit it. Banging it got it working again. Every 5 or 6 brews it doesn''t work, bang it.

It is probably going back to Costco.

I''m guessing this is a known problem?

I like this coffee maker. It is attractive, looks nice and makes a good strong pot of coffee.

I wish the clock was back lit. I like that it beeps when it is finished brewing. I have not encountered any electronics problems, but I don''t do any scheduling as I like to grind my coffee fresh right before I make it.

Our carafe pours beautifully, might be the smoothest most directional pour of any I have ever had. It slips in and out of the machine kind of clunky, but once you get used to it you adjust to the movement required.

We quit using the reusable charcoal filter and reusable basket after the first few uses as they require more work than we care to put into making a pot of coffee. I also don''t like washing coffee grounds into my plumbing and reusables require rinsing the left over grounds off. We actually like the taste of the coffee better with the paper filters and without the charcoal water filtration. At about 1/3 cent a day the filter cost is a non-issue

My last coffee maker was a hamilton beach and I hated it in the beginning but we got used to it and it lasted 11 years... I''ll be happy if this one lasts half as long.

The coffeemaker itself works fine, but the carafe is the worst I''ve ever used anywhere. It is almost impossible to pour from the carafe without having the coffee or water dribble down the side. It''s not just my own clumsiness. This is our office coffeemaker, and it happens to everyone. We are constantly cleaning up spills around the coffee maker. It is plainly a defective design. I recommend that you buy a different brand.

Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier

Kaz Incorporated V3700 Starry Night Cool Mist HumidifierI previously owned a Vicks cool mist humidifier, Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier. I bought the other one about two years ago and loved it but it had a lot of wear. I put this humidifier on a wish list and it was purchased for me. The thing that is great, it takes the same filters as my other humidifier which I still had left over, Protec WF2 Extended Life Replacement Humidifier Filter.

My older humidifier was very loud. You could not talk on the phone without the person hearing a very loud hum. I actually got used to it because I live next to an interstate and it was great white noise. This model you can barely hear on the two settings. One you can not even hear that it is on, the other you literally have to be standing right next to it to hear it. It is very silent which to some will be a pro not a con.

I have a newborn and she sleeps in a cradle next to my bed and I love to turn on the lights for her. It is a separate switch so you do not have to have it on while running the humidifier. In fact you can run it alone. I will warn you I find it rather bright. Also, most humidifier I have owned sit on a dresser of some sort so the lights are very close to the edge of the ceiling. I have to pull it out a bit so it can show more on the ceiling. I think that is a poor design flaw. I again think it is bright but turn it on for my little one. Sometimes I get up and turn it off since it can be annoying to see the lights if you are a light sleeper.

My biggest complaint right now is the fan. It does not make any noise but in winter you have to make sure it is not facing the baby or your bed. It blows a lot of air and in the winter it is cold! My bed is about 20 feet from the unit and I have to turn it completely to the side to avoid freezing in winter. I might like it come summer but right now it is very annoying.

I cannot speak for the added Vicks vapors since I have not needed them and they are not approved for newborn use. However, when she is sleeping in her crib and I feel congested I guarantee you I will use it. I have always used Vicks vapor rub or even Vicks Advanced Soothing Vapors Waterless Vaporizer on my night stand and they never fail.

Last, you can place ProTec PC-1 Humidifier Tank Cleaning Cartridge (Pack of 2) in the tank. I did so with my previous humidifier. However, it does scratch the heck out of the tank and makes it look very aged. It did seem to make the filters last longer, by about a week. However, I just use cold filtered water from my kitchen sink and I have not had any issues. Also, the lid is easy to remove and place on the base without any leaking.

As my second Vicks humidifier and for having a newborn you can''t go wrong with this unit. I am very pleased and hope to get a few years out of it.

We got this because our air conditioner was de-humidifying the air and we have acoustic guitars. When the humidity hit 30%, off we went to a local store for a cool humidifier. This was the only one they carried, so it''s what we got. If you have a very small room, or don''t need much humidity, this could be a useful item. Unfortunately that wasn''t our situation. Having water sitting in our sink literally raised the room humidity more than this Vicks humidifier, and running the shower for 2 minutes does a better job of raising the humidity in our apartment. As far as I can tell, unlike other humidifiers with ultra sonic motors, this one just blows air across the water. If you hold a piece of paper in front of where the fan blows for a couple minutes, it doesn''t get even slightly damp. I gather it puts out a max of just over a gallon a day half of what those cute animal humidifiers from Crane do.

The stars it shone on our ceiling we really liked, btw. They change color and look pretty and relaxing.

If you need only a little bit of moisture, this might do the trick. For us, it''ll have to go back.

My son loves this humidifier. We use it in the bedroom and it works great. It has 2 features that really set it apart. First, it projects stars on the ceiling which continuously change color. This is the fun part. Second, there is a slot inside where you can add a vicks mentol stick to help with congestion. It fills up the room with the menthol scent. You can turn any of these features off too. The only thing that would make it better would be if the stars could be set on a timer.

Product worked relatively well. Powerful stream of air, easy operation, easy load/reloading water, nice starry night option. The problem is after my 3rd reload of water into the tank, 3 of the 4 tank cap''s holding tab subsequently broke, however the tank cap stayed in place giving me the false impression that everything was fine. The directions clearly state, "Once the filled water tank has been placed on the unit do not move humidifier. Doing so could cause leakage and spills." Thus, I place the filled water tank onto the unit which was already on top of my coffee table. An entire gallon of water leaked all over my table, rug, hardwood floors, picture books, etc...destroying some of them. Just a terrible terrible design. The clunky humidifier I used in the 80''s was more secure than this thing.

I bought my kit and filters directly from Aquasana back in June 2005. I''ve had a few problems, but the folks in Aquasana are very helpful. Fortunately they have made some improvements in the design of the filter housings and it''s easier to install with the right tools. When the original cheaper kitchen faucet I chose started leaking water 2 years after purchase, I chose to upgrade to a much sturdier, better looking design (premium brushed nickel). I had to pay for that, but all the other things I broke (because of poor design) Aquasana replaced promptly, free of charge I am part of their water for life program which involves spreading the cost of replacement filters over a year that''s why I can count on good customer service. If you take your time, & follow the instructions carefully when installing the filters you shouldnt have a problem and the water quality is great.

The housing for the filters split and had to be replaced to the tune of $40.00 as a result of excessive water pressure. I can assure you that my hundred year old house could never produce excessive water pressure.

The hose fitting snapped off when I was attempting to unscrew the openning for the one of the filters. It is made of 1/8 inch pvc plastic. I was able to epoxy a brass replacement nipple for the hose and it is working well now. In short, Aquasana should realize that most consumers are prepared to spend a little more in the beginnign to avoid having to pay later for poorly made parts. If this unit fails again I will find something

to replace it.

I got these replacement filters on Amazon because they were less expensive than getting them from Aquasauna''s website. I love my filter, I have it undermounted with the little brushed nickel spigot. It''s a beautiful and healthy addition to my kitchen.

I have the Aquasana AQ-4000 under my sink and am really happy with the quality of filtered water it produces and the ease of use. I get my filters sent to me automatically every six months which makes it easy to remember and they even give you a lifetime warranty on the system! Not many companies are willing to warranty their products for life.

I have this filter for more than a year. It works fine and you can feel the taste of water is better after filtered. The taste is especially good with the filtered water to brew coffee. I love it!

Gaggia 90901 Platinum Swing Up Automatic Espresso Machine with Milk IslandPurchased from Whole Latte Love / IMPORTIKA in March 2009 STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

After about 5 months of usage the machine started leaking water from underneath. I called in for warranty service and was advised to drop off the machine to my local authorized repair center. The repair center has replaced parts and charged $100.00 stating this is not warranty covered. They have never informed me until after the fact. Apart from that, they also damaged front panel, all scratched up and said that I did it during time I was using it. I contacted Whole Latte Love and GAGGIA distributor IMPORTIKA. Importika denied warranty, said it was normal for any superautomatic machine to leak water after few months part of wear and tear. I was also told that it might have been due to me incorrectly attaching milk island. I don''t own or ever used milk island. Tech could not believe when I told him that.

Importika/Whole Latte Love initially said they would look into the matter and never did anything, never contacted me back.

-The machine makes good espresso. Steamer is rather weak and the frothing attachment is horrible. If you are serious coffee drinker, like lattes, know anything about microfoam and would like to make it with this machine''s steaming ability FORGET IT (no, it''s not that I don''t know how). You can make hot milk with some foam on the top.

-Coffee beans container is not air tight around the inlet for ground coffee, as a result air gets it and contributes to coffee getting stale if left for longer period.

-Click wheel works good.

-Constantly need to refill water container, empty drip tray

-Only 10.5 g max ground coffee per cup. Perfect shot has 7 g. So not even close to make 2 shots once, unless you hit button twice to make 2 separate shots.

WARNING: I would strong avoid buying any espresso machine (or anything for that matter) from Whole Latte Love or Importika (pretty much same company). Do your own research. Very deceptive business practices. They would not even post my review. Ordinary review, nothing inappropriate or anything like that. Also, Whole Latte Love advertised full warranty (not limited) but would not honor the agreement.

Well we tried the Gaggia Titanium and we did not like it at all (too loud, too big, odd settings).. This one, the gaggia Swing up is PERFECT! We can do Ristretto (tiny concentrated espresso). Noise level is very good. and the machine is too big at all! The only small minus is that the water tank coud have been a bit bigger but it would mean a bulkier machine (can''t have it all). Access to the tank and the coffee dumps is very easy (much easier than the titanium model). I highly recommend it! oh I almost forgot the milk island attachment is SO good too! THe milk is froth to perfection, easy to do a creamy hot chocolate with it in less than a minute!

After using a semi-automatic espresso maker for a few years with ok but inconsistent results, I put it away in the garage and started just going to the local coffee shop for my latte fix. Recently, I decided to try a super-automatic espresso maker for the quality and convenience. I read a lot of reviews, and thought about different manufacturers and models, including Jura Capresso, but eventually I decided on this Gaggia after watching videos of it in action on another website (Wholelattelove).

The machine was easy to set up and I was making espresso in no time. Ater using the Gaggia Swing Up for a few weeks all I can say is WOW. This is one product that lives up to its billing. No buyer''s remorse on my part.

There are a lot of really good features on this model but the most important thing to me is the quality of the espresso. I''m not exaggerating when I say it makes absolutely perfect, beautiful espresso every time. I''ve used Lavazza Super Crema, Lavazza Qualita Oro, and Illy espresso beans so far and all have made great espresso with gorgeous crema. This machine also makes a great long coffee for the travel mug.

The steam wand is easy to use with a frothing pitcher and thermometer because the wand swivels, making it easy to get the pitcher out from under it. I liked the milk island at first but cleaning it is a little tedious and it started to leak after I mistakenly put the pitcher on the stand without the plastic housing. Oops, my fault. So now I just use the steam wand exclusively and I''m still completely happy.

The menu is fairly intuitive and it is programmable if you choose. I also like the ipod-like wheel but the next model up, the Platinum Vision, has a touch screen which some people might like better. Another thing I like is that the machine swivels making it easy to put in the beans even though I have the machine on a counter with a cabinet above it -this swivel feature does not make the machine unsteady or wobbly at all. So far, cleaning has been easy and the machine tells you when it is time to empty the grounds drawer and put in water. One other feature worth mentioning is the tray which lifts and lowers electronically -at first I didn''t think I would use this much but it is nice to be able to raise the tray closer to the espresso dispenser when using espresso cups and lower it when using a mug.

Yes, it is a lot of money to spend on an appliance but I''ve already saved money by not going to my local coffee shop a few times a week so I figure I''ll eventually get a good chunk of my investment back. Now if I could just stop drinking more than one latte per day...

From a Mechanical Engineer who bought one:

I bought one without being able to see it first. First mistake, gearing, grinder and all machine parts are plastic. So, they wear with little usage and then screw-up. If I was able to see one, I would have never bought it. I looked at other design features and they too were poorly designed like the chutes the grinds have travel thru. You don''t want to buy GAGGIA! Get yourself a simpler machine that works manually.

In not quite 2 years, I have had 3 major breakdowns to the grinder, pump and dispensing solenoid. Each time you must pay for your own shipping, at least $50 each way, warrenty or not. I guarrantee if you buy this machine, you will have to have periodic major repair work that is expensive.

I''ve had my Gaggie Platinum Swing for around two years now. When it works well, it''s great. But it is very finicky as to coffee beans and often will grind a brew''s worth and then throw it out, unbrewed, saying Fill Container With Coffee. The machine is clean and there''s lots of coffee beans in it.

This happens less with Lavazza beans, but even with them. Support claims the beans are "oily", but the real problem seems to be the design.

Avoid this machine unless you''re willing to fiddle with the machine a lot and waste 1/3 of your coffee beans.

This is my third Gaggia/Saeco super-automatic. Next time I''m switching to a different brand that doesn''t suffer this problem!
