Wildkin Trains or Planes and Trucks 7" Steel Water Bottle

Wildkin Trains, Planes and Trucks 12-Ounce Steel Water BottleI purchased this to go along with kiddo''s lunch bag and the dang thing LEAKS, even when it''s closed all the way. In addition, it''s extremely difficult for little hands to open and close the top... which it shouldn''t be, since it is made for kids.

That said, I threw this thing away and got a no-spill sippy by Playtex for the lunchbox and it works sooooooo much better.

I bought this for my 5 year old son and it hasn''t been working out well. Firstly, you have to push down on the mouth nozzle very hard before it''d close and even then, trickles of water still leaks especially if it''s laid down. My son has this in his bag, which he tosses around like a rag! Therefore the water always spills, and wets everything in his bag.

The metal also dents fairly easily. Although it is cute, it isn''t very durable and not recommended for clumsy school goers, unless you don''t mind a dimpled bottle that wobbles on the table.

My son loves this! It keeps his water cold all day. No leaks! The matching lunchbox is a winner as well!

6 Gallon Countertop Water Filter Purifier- Transform Tap Water to Pure Healthy Mineral Drinking WaterIf you decide to buy the Zen Water Filtration System, Please make sure you buy the replacement filters from ZenWater @zenwateronline.com or make sure you are buying the originals from Amazon. There are after market filters that are made by other companies and they simply do not work as well as the ones made by Zen Water. On Amazon, when you search for replacement Filters, it brings up one that really appears to be made by Zen Water. In fact, when you search for the Mineral Rocks, this is exactly what turns up,

Mineral Stone Case Replacement for Zen Water Filter Systems

by Zen Water Online

If you notice the description clearly says " by Zen Water Online" and it is really made by Purenex. In very tiny letters, Amazon has s place to click for "other sellers" and that is where you will find the one really made by Zen Water (which is $5 Less). The fact that the product description is misleading and possibly fraudelant is not the only problem, according to the reviews I have read (over 25), the filter made by Purenex is simply not the same quality as the one made by Zen Water. Please be careful when you buy this excellent Filter. The only complaints I found about this water filtration system were due to people mistakenly buying this filter.

I buy and will continue to buy many items from Amazon and this is the first ethical lapse I personally have encoutered and I hope Amazon reverts back to keeping its very high ethical standards.

Thank you,

David

Well, I''m not sure why some other folks have had problems but I have found everything to work as intended and very well indeed. I followed all setup instructions and had no issues. I did not really need the assembly instructions, as it was clear enough to me from the picture as to how the unit should go together. My only adjustment after the first run was to tighten the faucet nut with a wrench instead of just my fingers. If you use a wrench, ensure you don''t apply too much force and crack the plastic basin!

We have just moved from a house with a Nikken in-sink filter which cost over $800 and i can honestly say I like the taste of the water this unit makes better! The unit is not too quick but it is on par with other gravity fed units like Pur, Brita, etc. However the water it outputs is much better tasting!

No complaints but I would love to see a deluxe glass and metal version with heavier grade components and a higher flow metal faucet. An in-line under-sink unit like the Nikken would be great I would buy one! The current unit build quality is adequate and is very good for the price. More importantly, the water it outputs is very good regardless of price. I would buy again.

A quick update on the filter after about two months use... I really like the taste of this water! It has a clean, dry mineral taste a bit like melted snow. We make our own carbonated water with it and it carbonates with smaller bubbles than water from our Nikken filter did. Just Excellent!

This item was very easy to set up and fill. It starts filtering very slowly but after you break it in (4-5) fill ups it works very quickly. The water is very good after the Zen filters it. I would recommend this water filter system without hesitation. I am very satisfied especially since I have elimated the need to stop at the grocery store to fill my water jugs.

I bought this Zen water filter system about 2 months ago. I wanted to give it sometimes before writing a review about it. The setup was fairly easy if properly following the provided instruction. It is best to completely read the instruction to get overall picture before get started. To achieve the best result, the filter system must be setup as instructed. This part took quite a bit of my time. Then, it took almost 8 hrs for all the water to get through the filter system. I discarded the first two cycles. The set up process is a bit of hassle, but at the end you have a clean and delicious mineral drinking water. Zen water system reduces the waste of plastic bottle, which helps to save us money as well as our environment. Overall, it is a great product at fairly low cost!!!

After reading many of the reviews here, I was worried that maybe this was not a smart purchase... WRONG! Just follow the directions and you will be VERY HAPPY. This filter turns my city water into "Spring Quality" water. No more sediment and chlorine after taste. The ceramic filter really removes a ton of sediment. I''ll be purchasing a Zen Filter for my water cooler very soon! This sure beats lugging bottles!!!

Bosch Ultra Series Canister Vacuum Save 22% Off

Bosch BSG81396UC Ultra Series Canister Vacuum, SilverAs expected from a product made in Germany and with a name like Bosch, the quality seems to be very good. The suction is great, the telescopic handle is conveinient. One thing I didn''t expect for a vacuum with a retail price of 699 was the cord for the powerhead that uses plastic snap on rings to attach it to the hose. I''ve seen 599 simplicity''s that have the cord built into the hose, but then again, I only paid 225 shipped on sale. You''d have to be an idiot to get electrocuted by touching the connector for the powerhead when the vacuum is on. The variable power is nice eacuse the powerhead can be hard to move on area rugs with full suction.

I bought my first Bosch vacuum about a year and a half ago. By far, it picked up more dirt than the Dyson or any other vacuum I have ever owned. It lasted through the last 8 months of a remodel to my home and my contractors using it on all sorts of dust and rubble! I just bought a second one to keep on the first floor! It definitly gets a THUMBS UP by me!

Buy Bosch Ultra Series Canister Vacuum Now

There was another post by someone one out there about a Bosch vacuum cleaner who stated the same title, and I couldn''t agree more! Whomever designed this vacuum (individual or team) could not have used the final product more than 5 minutes and then only on smooth, hard surface. As the other review mentioned, I have had the handle on this vacuum break 4 times over a 3 year period. Same place, every time. In Bosch''s defense, they have continued to replace the handle/hose (it''s 1 piece) even after the warranty has expired, but all that tells me is that they know there is an inherent design defect, but they don''t want to issue a recall. Also, every new part I have received has been the same design so they are not fixing the problem. When this happens I am without the use of the vacuum for 2-4 weeks while they slowly get my part in the mail. Don''t know about you, but the benefit of a HEPA vacuum is lost if I can''t use it. There are other design issues, but this is the main one. Just to clarify, I am a mechanical design engineer, and I feel pretty confident when I see a poor design. This is a poor design.

I have owned mine for 5 months. The power head quit working 1.5 months ago, I sent it in for a warranty replacement when it quit. They agree the part is bad but the part is backordered.

The extension tubes use very lightweight plastic where they enter the fitting and it breaks easily.

The vacuum cleans very well, but do not expect it to work for very long, and expect the warranty to be worthless. Buy a different brand and save yourself a lot of grief.

Teavana PerfecTea Tea Maker, 16oz

Teavana PerfecTea Tea Maker, 16ozThe good: This is really easy to use and you don''t get any leaves in your tea. It also looks really cool when making the tea. You just put tea leaves and hot water in the top, let it steep, then put it over a mug (or anything else you drink tea from) and it automatically pours the brewed tea from the bottom.

The bad: As the tea pours directly into the cup from the bottom of the tea maker, unless you have a clear mug you can''t see how much you''re pouring. Lifting the tea maker up to check the quantity in the cup is slightly annoying, and I''ve had a few overflows, but it''s not a big deal. It''s also avoidable with the extra step of pouring the liquid into the cup/mug to measure and then into the tea maker.

However, it is perfect size for my Thermos Nissan JMW500P6 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Backpack Bottle, Silver, so that works great and I don''t need to check the quantity in the thermos!

Cleaning: It''s pretty easy to clean. Generally, I throw out the leaves right away and then rinse the tea maker out with hot water. I then let it dry with the lid open. That does the job pretty well. If I let it sit or decide that I want a more thorough cleaning, the filter pops out very easily. However, I did have a bit of trouble getting it back in the first few times. It takes a little practice, but becomes very easy.

Overall, I highly recommend this tea maker, even with the small flaw.

Purchased 16oz teamaker less than a year ago from the Teavana store, at a local mall, for . Used it two to three times per week. And the stainless steel ?? mesh filter began rusting/corroding, not tea stained. There is no way to remove the corrowsion, or the screen for replacement. Brought it to the Teavana store, showed them the corrosion; and was told I had to call customer suppport, since it was over thirty days old. While at the Teavana store I called Customer support, which wasn''t helpful at all. Was told they wouldn''t replace it. However, if I shipped it to them at my expense, they would look at it; but they don''t warrant the product beyond thirty days.

Subsequently, I purchased another unit by Adagio, from Amazon, and it has been superior to the Teavana unit. Nylon mesh screen doesn''t corrode, and can be removed for cleaning or replacement if necessary. Very disappointed with Teavana product design, quality, and customer support.

My wife received this product as a gift this spring. We never mistreated the maker, hand washing it and following the recommendations of the manufacturer however after only a few weeks of use the ball baring that serves as a valve to empty the tea into a cup shifted out of place rendering the device useless. "No problem" I thought, Teavana is a large company charging premium prices, Im sure they will take care of us. After several email exchanges we get the ok to mail it back. After mailing it a few weeks go by and nothing. We email Tevana only to find that the product was "lost in the mail". Perhaps it was, I probably send 100 things a year through the USPS and while none have ever gotten lost perhaps this was the unfortunate first case. However, when I started searching for reviews about Teavana I discovered a troubling pattern, they have been having problems with this model failing frequently and had pulled similar stunts on other customers. We did not mail our defective product to the Bermuda triangle, we sent it to the address they told us to.

Recommendation for Teavana: AVOID! The premium price buys you neither a premium product nor quality service.

I bought the 16 oz Perfect Tea Maker in September. Half of the hinge to the lid broke off two weeks ago--just under 4 months later. I took it back and asked for a replacement. The mall store manager in Denver refused because I didn''t have the receipt (who keeps receipts to everything?). I contacted Teavana directly via their website January 2nd (confirmation email dated & timed 1:12p), after reading on their website that they take pride in their products, that they want happy customers, and that they take 24-48 hours to respond. It''s now January 6th without a response.

I''d still take a replacement for this poorly constructed tea maker, only because I know they won''t refund it. However, I don''t think I''ll be supporting Teavana again any time soon. They do have delicious tea. My review of the Perfect Tea Maker is less generous--examine it before you buy it, and I think you''ll find that the hinge on the lid of the tea maker is poorly designed, flimsy and subject to break with repeated use--and if you like tea, you''re repeatedly using the tea maker. I''ll go back to my stainless strainer, I guess.

I guess I expected better from a company that I liked a lot. What a disappointment.

I received this item on Christmas with 2 types of teas from teavana, shortly after i tried it out. This tea maker is very well built and works very well at a decently low price. very simple to use, place the maker on the provided coaster, open lid, add proper amount of tea, add water at proper temp. close lid, steep for proper time, place maker on top of mug. The way the tea maker is built is the tea and water sits and steeps in the maker and after its all steeped and ready you place it on top of your mug, the rim of the mug releases a seal in the maker and the tea drains down. functions great, very smart build. looks pretty sleek too. Very happy with the product. being easy to clean (dishwasher safe) and store is a big plus too. Definitely something to look into if your new to or a big drinker of loose leaf tea.

Culligan CP5-BBS Level 4 Heavy Duty Sediment Replacement Cartridge Save 20% Off

Culligan CP5-BBS Level 4 Heavy Duty Sediment Replacement Cartridge
  • Fits HD-950
  • Level 4 Premium Filtration
  • Filters Fine (5-micron) sediment filtration: sand, silt, dirt, rust and scale
  • Filter life up to 3 months or 12,000 gallons
  • Not recommended for use with non-treated well water supplies

I recommend that no one buy this filter, in fact anything from Culligan. The quality of this product has changed in recent years such that it should be banned from the market. The problem is that the polymer endcaps fail in what is called "punching shear". I have used this make and model of filter for 10 years without a single problem until this past year. I purchased a few year''s supply of filters at once (as I normally do) in 2010 and noticed the endcaps were of a softer material than in the past, but I didn''t think much of this since these endcaps also serve as the gaskets. However, upon removal of this filter after using it for a few months (my typical use) I discovered the filter medium and endcaps had collapsed (not disintegrated) like an accordion, while the center core remained straight and at its original length. Closer inspection revealed the endcap had failed in a ring around the point of contact with the filter housing. This is the location where a separate gasket would be on top of the filter. Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be a one-time occurrence. The exact same failure has happened with three subsequent filters, even though I cut the use period in half. Clearly, this whole batch of filters is defective.

I have been in contact with the manufacturer (Culligan) over the past few months, and after some limited success at getting them to respond (which was a struggle I might add), they have eventually stopped replying to my emails. This is very poor for public relations. At first, I got several excuses as to why this was not their problem, the most interesting being their claim that the filters I bought were not made by Culligan because they were not purchased directly from Culligan. I informed them that I purchased them from Amazon.com, but they still maintained this argument. I scanned the label on the filter, which clearly shows their logo and contact information (which I had used to contact them) and they became even less responsive. Then I placed the next logical step in the investigation for them to answer, and that is when they ceased to respond altogether. This statement was that if they claim they have no material defects, and since they feel the filter is a counterfeit "knock off", then why haven''t they pursued legal action against the supplier to Amazon? I must conclude that they indeed discovered a material defect with their product and don''t wish to continue the discussion for fear of later litigation.

I have since researched and found alternate brands of filters (I use both a sediment filter and carbon filter in my system) and will avoid ever using Culligan products again. I will also recommend to anyone that I can to avoid this manufacturer. That is what has compelled me to write this review.

Nice filter. I was having problems with the blue top filters not working at all, I determined they were a few millimeters too short, allowing the water to bypass the media all together. These have more rubber at the ends and I''m getting a better seal, capturing much more rust. Plus, they are cheaper than Home Depot and fit my GE housing.

I echo the other reviewer about replacing this regularly. My filter disolved into a lump of sludge. Hope it doesn''t plug up the rest of my plumbing. I''ve used Pentek filters for years with no issues, but these filters just broke down and washed away. Literally a pile of paper and two rubber end caps floating around in the housing.

I can''t say I noticed much difference in my water after replacing the 50 micron filter with this one because I don''t have a big problem with sediment. But I am pleased that the flow rate in the house doesn''t seem any different. It''s been installed about 2 months now. I expect it won''t last as long as the 50 version but if my water is cleaner then it''s worth it.

UPDATE Sept. 17, 2010

I learned something the hard way -CHANGE THE FILTER REGULARLY! I was waiting for the flow rate to go down as a sign to change this filter but it never decreased. Then a month or two ago I noticed the water starting to smell and it really got pretty bad. I''m on a well so wasn''t sure if it was the ground water changing but then thought of the filter. Oh my gosh, it was gross. Black & slimy & stinky and the paper had torn so the water was flowing right through with no filtering, hence no pressure loss.

This was about 6 months use on a well (no chlorine) which was way way too long at it turned out. I''d say the filter should be changed every 2 months.

Multiple water main breaks and living in a trailer has resulted in my having to use the Culligan heavy duty filter. With this filter I don''t have to remove the faucet strainers. It does the job simply and easily. I even travel the U.S and Canada with the canister attached to my hoses.

Though these filters work, they are NOT Watts Premier. Quality is noticeably less. The final stage carbon filter does NOT come with new connections, you must reuse the old ones off your previous filter, or buy new ones. Watts Premier supplies new connections with their filter kits. This kit is reasonably priced and the filters fit fine, but buyer beware you are NOT getting what is advertised.

PRO 10 inch filters designed around STANDARD 10 inch tall filter holders not for customs

PRO each sub filter in the pack is individually wrapped to keep them clean good idea

PRO while the spun 5 and 1 micron filters make a seal by compression in the chamber, the carbon block filter has a rubber seal on top and bottom to ensure water must go through it.

comment filters always filter from OUT to IN dirty water comes in the outside of the filter then travels through it to a hollow core and exits the top and is piped to the next filter holder''s outside surface. Again it goes outside to inside. This is the standard.

TIP when purchasing new RO systems, look for standard 10" filter systems and changes

will be cheap and easy because there are 2 standards 10" and commercial 20" filters.

AVOID custom 1/4 turn or custom steel filters you can buy systems with clear or opaque filter chambers clear chambers have pros and cons you can see the contamination, but they let light in which promotes algee growth.

A typical RO system has 3 prefilters First a 5 micron sediment, then carbon block, then 1 micron in that order before the water even gets to the RO membrane (I use a waste water pressure booster to double my pressure going to the membrane by using twice the volume of wastewater, which RO aways has plenty of to boost input pressure by 2x to 80psi. I get 40 psi from the city water, and my tank goes to 80 psi.

Keeping your RO membrane clean is imperitive to the proper function of the total unit giving clean, potable water with almost no total dissolved solids (they get flushed out the wastewater) and also gives sterile water w/ UV sterilizer in series (replace bulb yearly) and a standard refrigerator taste filter on the output line to drink for good tasting water. I measure 3ppm TDS on my output. Distilled water is 1.0 ppm for battery maintenance. That is very low dissolved solids from 500 ppm at the street!

On my system I T''ed off the 14 gallon oversized storage tank and ran that water, which avoids the UV lamp and the refrigerator filter, to a 25 foot long piece of tubing that terminates in female hose fitting (backwards i know you want male hose fitting but I fixed it with a shutoff valve that was male-male) so on the end I paid 8 bucks for 3 pvc fittings including a ball valve I go hose to 3/4 pipe thread, rinto the 1/4 turn ball valve, then back to 3/4 pipe fitting to male hose thread. All pipe fittings are teflon taped and the hose fittings have washers for zero leaks. There is also a 1/4 turn 1/4" tube shutoff valve on the T off fitting which allows me to fill the dog water dish (1 gallon) or connect a hose to my pressure washer and wash the car with 10 gal and no residue, no spots afterwards very nice to have! When I''m done I close the 1/4 turn valve at the tank (14 gallon extra large tank from amazon Reverse Osmosis Storage Tank 14 Gallon White

This use (me, my dog, my car) keeps my RO flushing quite a bit per day and that is good because the membrane is kept clean by flushing. But it also means my prefilters need to be changed on a strict 6 month schedule since they filter 6 times the amount of RO water you get. The last filter is the same as refrigerator filter. In fact my fridge filter just counts 6 months then turns purple (blue+red means time to order filters) at 5 mo. and turns off the blue for red only at 6 mo time to change filter now! (when you press the reset button the 6 mo cycle starts over don''t do it unless you really changed the filter because after 6mo bacteria begins to grow on the filter media and water taste is bad)

Just FYI I live in a VERY hard water area with no chlorine from a well and pump at the end of the street low pressure, high content of dissolved solids, hard (12.2 grains/gallon) water is what I get from the city. I use a whirlpool salt ion exchange water softener to help cut down the solids but it only EXCHANGES the calcium and magnesium for Sodium does not make spots as bad, but its still in the water. I bought this bottle as a replacement for bottled water; it''s unclear how much more pure bottled water is than tap water, aside from taste, since water bottling companies are not subjected to uniform standards. I was impressed by the fact that the Fill2Pure filters water not only to NSF Standard 42 (chlorine, taste), but also Standard 53 (pesticides, heavy metals, microorganisms). The other popular water purification bottles out there -such as those made by Bobble and Brita -mostly just improve taste but have little effect on other potentially worrisome contaminants in the water supply. I love that the water tastes great and the bottle seems well made. Yet, there''s one annoying aspect to this bottle: it''s almost impossible to drink from it without getting half air, half water. Drinking is work! Hopefully Seychelle will improve the design in future models.

Nice design to this bottle, but as the other reviewer indicated, it''s very difficult to drink from this bottle. It requires an annoying amount of effort to draw the water up through the filter and straw, and you end up taking in as much if not more air than water.

The water tastes pure, though.

I''ve had this for a while now. I use it a lot. One of the plastic fittings is starting to fall apart. It gets moved around a lot, and it is plastic. Will have to see what it costs for a new fitting. Hopefully not much.

Wastes more water than desirable. Tried it at low pressure and near maximum. Wastes about the same ratio no matter the pressure. Was thinking of setting up a pump and making it recirculate the waste water to reduce waste. Don''t want to spend that kind of money with water prices where they are at.

The water I am filtering is from the local river. It barely meets federal standards, sometimes doesn''t, for contaminants. That could be affecting my filters ability.

Bialetti Moka Express 9-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker Save 9% Off

Bialetti Moka Express 9-Cup Stovetop Espresso MakerThis unit is a great little device for making strong coffee (somewhere between espresso and regular coffee, closer to the espresso side) in an elegant way, and it''s designed to last a long time.

The coffee produced is extracted using steam that is generated when the bottom part of the pot gets heated from placing the unit on a stove top. You have to experiment to find the right low-to-medium heat to get the best results. Too low and it will not boil, but you probably want it just above that and not too hot. I have found a setting where it will boil in 5 mins, and then the coffee comes up in 1 minute or less. So, a total of 6 minutes, which is not bad at all. As mentioned, what''s produced is close to what we call "espresso" in the US, but it is not the same thing. It is not as strong and with not quite the same taste as full-blown espresso created using an automatic or semi-automatic espresso maker. It''s much stronger and more flavorful than regular coffee, though. I used the same Intelligentsia Coffee House Blend (a great coffee) through my French press and then the Moka pot, and the taste difference was eye-opening. Apparently, these stove-top coffee makers are the norm in Italy, and practically everybody has one.

If you enjoy taking your time making your coffee, this is a beautiful unit that creates great coffee (and apparently it gets better over time, as the coffee oils seep into the aluminum). And as mentioned, it''s actually not that slow. It''s a nice "coffee ritual." It''s made in Italy. It only has three parts, which are easy to clean and look virtually impossible to break, so it will last.

The only potential downsides are:

(a) you need coffee ground to the correct size. Either you should get pre-ground Illy Coffee or else you should get a good grinder that can grind to just above espresso fineness. When using whole bean coffee, our old blade grinder does not work well at all with this (sometimes it''s acceptable, sometimes hardly any coffee comes out), but we have a Vario on the way, so all is good... But it is a given that a grinder is extremely important regardless of what method of coffee brewing you use. So -get a good grinder!

(b) you can only make the same amount of coffee each time. For example, we have the version that says 6 on the side (6 cup?) and it makes just enough for my wife and myself. (It doesn''t actually make 6 cups, as far as I can tell -it''s more like 2 cups for us). That is, you cannot just put in less ground coffee and less water to make less coffee. If you do that, the mechanics of the steam don''t work and you won''t get proper coffee as a result. So, make sure you get the correct size for your use.

This thing is so cheap and well-made that anyone who loves coffee should have one around to try out or for occasional use. Ours will get regular use, alternating with our French press. I was very happy to find this.

The Bialetti Moka Express 3-Cup Coffeemaker is fantastic. I enjoy it immensely. Word of warning, don''t forget to put water in it before placing on the stove! And if you have a gas stove with an open flame, do not use a flame that exceeds the size of the coffeemaker. The handle will melt.

Too many words would ruin the simplicity and elegance. It simply makes delicious espresso, quickly and with a minimum of effort. Cleans up in about 2 minutes...I take mine camping.

The "cup" ratings are for small, traditional sized espresso cups. If you like to pour a mug full of espresso, then divide the cup rating by 4 to arrive at an approximate size for your "machine". My nine cup maker gives me 2 full sized mugs of rich coffee. For you "crema" people...there is none.

It is inexpensive, relative to plug in type machines, so it is as nearly a risk free purchase as you can make. Enjoy.

Been using these stovetop espresso maker''s for 20 years. I was shocked to take my latest one out of it''s box and discovered it has all the substance of aluminum paper. I have older ones to compare it to. Not just insubstantial metal, but the quality of the threading between the top and the bottom you can hear crackly sound of bad metal and poor tolerances. How sad to see a classic so undermined by cost cutting.

I own the 3 cup model, and it is great!... but it was a bit small, so I wanted a larger capacity maker, so naturally I went to the 9 cup model. Big mistake! My 3 cup holds just over 1 US cup of water ( about 9 ounces) in the chamber, and I get about 8 ounces of finished product. Not a bad return!

The 9 cup model ( which should be three times larger) only hold about 2 US cups of water in the chamber ( 16 ounces) and because of the larger basket, and using three times more ground coffee, only produces one cup ( 8 ounces) of finished product ( about one cup of water is held in the coffee grounds).

Don''t bother.

I''m keeping my 3 cupper and returning the 9 cup.

Premier WP4-V Reverse Osmosis System

Premier WP4-V Reverse Osmosis System with Monitoring FaucetPro: The system works and the monitoring faucet provide a easy way for filtered water.

Con: water leaks when the tank is near empty (when the tank is filled, no more water leaking)

Other thought: do not draw to much filtered water (2.5 gallon) at a time.

Reverse osmosis is based upon your existing water line pressure. I have decent water line pressure in city of San Jose, not too low, not too high, but when using this WP4-V, very little water would come out. So I had to buy an extra retrofit pump from watts premier, only to find out it''s not for this new type of RO system, only the traditional 5 stage with the tubings sticking out of the 4 and 5 stage filters. Undaunted, I hook up the pump to prefilter line, install the sensor at the output line, and it works! But not after a lot of frustration and cursing. My advise: don''t get the WP4-V or WP5-50, go for the traditional RO system just in case you need that pump, it''s better to get the model with the water pump anyway and enjoy steady RO pure water.

You will need to flush the filter before each use to avoid carbon (black water) filling your water tank. Did not go away after first few uses.

i used this filter for a different purpose, to fill my hot tub. My tap water has a lot of metals and the water in the tub always look yellow and unattractive. i tried everything to get the metals outfilters in the tub, metal remover solutions etc. Finally I bouth this refilled the tub and the water is perfect!! Crystal clear, with a natural blue tint. i can''t belived it removed it all!

I''ve used this filter for about 10 camping days. I have no complaints about it. The water that comes through it tastes good and looks clear. I put my pressure regulator after the filter to minimize pressure drop, and the filter has withstood the pressure.

Does a great job for large hot tubs. Just remember that the first time you hook up the water, a moderate cloud of carbon dust will come out. So let it flow for about a minute before you stick it in your crystal clear hot tub water.

Auto-Siphon - 3/8''
  • Easy to Use
  • Starts a Siphone Fast
  • Easy to Clean
  • Easy to Sanitize

Works well, the main problem is that sanitizing it is a real pain. Either you try to wiggle it in all angles and try to get full coverage, or you have to rip the inner plunger out to sanitize them separately.

Patience is not my strong suit, and the basic kit I bought did not include one of these little gems. I bought this from Midwest after twice spilling some wort starting a siphon the operation seemed to require one more hand than I had available. If I had it to do over, I''d buy the half inch one to make the siphon go faster, and then I wouldn''t need to move my tubing from from my siphon to my bottling bucket. Yeah, I could buy another piece of tubing but it would still be on the slow side. I hold the end of my tubing under hot water to get it onto the autosiphon, and only push it on about a quarter of an inch. The plastic looks to be fairly fragile and the tubing is still difficult to removes use the hot water again to warm it and make it more stretchable. Highly recommended.

Don''t use this on vodka or grain alcohol. I did and within 5 minutes it ate away at the plastic housing of the siphon and destroyed it as well as the batch of Limoncello I was working on. It looks like it''s intended for beer, so I thought it was safe for all alcohol. Wrong.

This siphon works great. I recommend the matching clam if you are going to use it on a carboy. I am very happy with this product and it is much easier and much more sanitary than other methods.

This is a fantastic product for home brewers. Easily move wort from a carboy or any other container. Just attach a length of 3/8" tubing, give it a few pumps and you''re siphoning. No more mouth siphoning which can introduce contaminating bacteria into your brew.

Cons: No included clip to attach the auto-siphon to your container.
