Braun KFK500-BK AromaDeluxe 10-Cup Replacement Carafe Save $0.04 Off

Braun KFK500-BK AromaDeluxe 10-Cup Replacement Carafe, BlackMy husband loves this coffee pot. The problem is, it is a little sensitive. He was washing it with a brush and barely bumped it on the sink, and while it did not break it did put a large crack around the carafe. We are very careful while handling it, primarily for the reasons listed by other reviewers, and we''ve only had it about 6 weeks. Maybe the glass is a little thin or not tempered properly? Either way, be careful while washing it.

I ordered this as a replacement when my Braun (model 3104, european 220v) coffeemaker''s original carafe was broken. I was concerned that it may not work since the drip function is triggered by the coffee pot being in just the right place. It works perfectly, though, and looks exactly like the original. I''ve seen some reviews that indicate the glass is weak or too thin, but I haven''t had any problems; seems to be of identical quality to the first carafe (which, by the way, was knocked off the counter onto a tile floor, so no surprise it broke!).

I was very pleased with the carafe we received. We had the original when we purchased the coffee pot new...this one is even better! It feels like sturdier glass and everything works perfectly with the original coffee pot (no spilling or auto stop drip issues). The coffee pot was expensive when it was new and the minimal investment of a new carafe just extended its life even further!

It was shipped immediately and saved me from using a years old too small drip coffee maker (never throw anything old away you might need it) while I waited for the rplacement. Thanks to Amazon.com I had the carafe within four days.

750 EZ Freeze Pure with freezer and water filter

753 EZ Freeze Pure with freezer and water filter, 64-OunceAfter freezing the insert for the first time, it cracked! Now it''s just an expensive water bottle!

I was looking for a 64 oz water bottle that I could drink out of at work. That way, if I drank 2 per day, it would be an entire gallon.

Pros:

it is 64 oz

Cons:

the "straw" is made up of a two piece filter + chiller mechanism. Although a good idea in theory, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to suck up water through this straw!

without the "straw", you have to either drink with the lid off (which my wife now does) or tilt the thing completely upside down and let gravity work its magic

Two stars for this item on a generous day.

Buy 750 EZ Freeze Pure with freezer and water filter Now

For the ones complaining about the struggle to drink through the filter try the brita bottle then get back to me. I love this bottle. The 24oz holds about 17oz after filter displacement. I don''t like the ez freeze thing because I drink to much water it doesn''t stay cold so I never stick it in the freezer. I am a little challenged in the coordination department. So its easier for me not to have to tilt up while on gym equipment to drink. This bottle I dont have to. Yay!

Pros:

-yummy filtered water every where you go

-has a counter to keep track of bottles consumed

-light weight

-durable

-durable handle

-easier to drink through than competitors

cons:

-filter/ice thing displacement

-can be a little hard to suck through

I really enjoyed receiving this item due to the fact that I had just gotten one a few months before and it was stolen. However, I''ve only had this item a few weeks and the EZ-Freeze stick has exploded! Had I not noticed, I could''ve become very ill. How do I get another one without having to purchase another bottle? Please help me out because I love this bottle but it is now useless and I don''t feel I should have to buy another. The filters are online for replacement but the EZ-Freeze sticks seem to be unavailable which leads me to believe that I''ve wasted my money. I don''t want to have to discard it and order another so I''d really appreciate someone contacting me--emailing doesn''t seem to work. Thanks.

  • Filter included ($15 value): Reversible filter should be replaced every 3-4 months (3000 gallons)

That''s the first time, a filter do make me feel a difference between soft and hard water.

I don''t even want to get out from the shower after I use this product. It''s an amazing experience and worth all it cost.

Especially I don''t have to scarify the time/water amount for the good quality of water.

After gone through this product, the water becomes so pure, clean and clear that it''s so tempting to use it as drinking water. I''m a picky person, and only drink "Smart Water" as I just can''t stand the taste of the other type of water, especially the tap water even after filtered. So, you can see how good this product is!!! It "tastes" as good as the "Smart Water".

Watts 7-PK RO Filters Premier 1-Year 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis Replacement Filter Kit Save 30% Off

Watts 7-PK RO Filters Premier 1-Year 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis Replacement Filter Kit
  • High-quality replacement water filters
  • Features two 10-inch sediment filter, four 10-inch carbon block filters, and one 10-inch polishing filter
  • Compatible with all standard RO and filtration systems
  • NSF Certified
  • Kit contains 1 year''s worth of replacement filters

I purchased this filter kit for my Watts Premier WP5-50 RO unit. The package''s shrink wrap was broken (I guess) in shipping, but each of the canister type filters had individual shrink wrap so I have no worry about dirt contamination. The final ''polishing'' filter was not shrink wrapped, but it had end caps so I have no worry there.

Just so this is ''clear'', a RO membrane is not included. This is a kit for sediment and carbon filter replacement only, NOT the RO membrane. Still a good price.

The final filter (indeed a 10 inch one) had a sticker on it, with some specs = (Watts Premier, Model RIL-10a, flow 0.5gpm, capacity 1000gal, NSF certified, pressure 25-100psi, temp 32-100f, and flow direction arrow) also the package had a ''Made in USA'' flag logo on it.

Just for fun, I purchased a replacement polishing filter for my WP5-50 RO unit at the ''Watts Premier'' web site. It had a sticker that read only ''Made in Taiwan'' They look to be the same filter with different manufacturers. The Taiwan Watts filter did include the end ''screw in'' fittings that may not be needed but are nice to have. Enjoy.

I''m amazed at what you get in the package. Added up individually, these items would cost almost $60.00! I have had an RO system for over 7 years and this is the best deal for replacement filters that I have found anywhere. As another reviewer stated, not even the Watts website has prices this low for these items. That''s the good part. The not so good is two things: One is that both of the sediment filters were slightly dented upon arrival. No big deal though, and that won''t affect their functionality. Another slight problem is that the post carbon filter doesn''t have the 1/4" quick connect fittings that my 4 stage RO system setup has. No big deal, as another reviewer suggested, I went to the hardware store and bought two adapters to add to the filterdon''t forget to use teflon tape! These adapters convert threaded fittings to quick connect and cost six dollars for both and can be removed from the filter later to be reused again on the new post carbon filter.

After installing the new filters I tasted the water and I can''t tell if it''s different from the old filters I was using. It does taste good though, like before.

I''m rating this product 5 stars for the great deal. I would take away one star for the packing of the product prior to shipping, but this is too good of a deal and is worth the risk of some damage in shipping.

Update: Sept. 2011: The filters are still doing great and I''m still super happy with this purchase. I just hope this deal lasts...

I tried to find a set of filters for my Reverse Osmosis water system. The pricing was unreasonable to buy the filters separately from local stores. I found this kit on Amazon and was amazed at the price I could buy it for. For those who are looking for a filter replacement for your system this is a bargain.

We have a generic 5-Stage RO System and have been buying replacement filters from Lowe''s. Then, I saw this Watts year replacement kit for the same price as a six month replacement at Lowe''s -VERY GLAD I DID.

However, the Finishing Polishing Filter (GAC) connections were female threads. Our set-up uses the standard compression fittings. We had to get 2 adapters w/ male thread on one end & compression fitting on the other end to install on our system works great.

You will have to buy the RO Membrane to complete your 1-yr Filter Replacement.

This came very well wrapped w/ each individual filter sealed. This way the remaining filters will stay clean until we replace them in 6 months.

We will buy this 7-PK Watts Premier RO Filter Replacement Filter Kit every year.

Paragon 5-Stage Countertop Water Filter System

Paragon 5-Stage Countertop Water Filter SystemThe Bad:

The Faucet Adaptor 15/16 27 Male Thread sent with the unit was plastic or teflon, in which I personally do not see how this would work with anyone''s kitchen sink aerator because the threads are too soft and WILL STRIP.

Solution: I would go out to Lowes/Ace Hardware/Home depot and buy the brass version. If you can, buy one with at least 5 threads showing each end. I did get the one that looks like it has 2-3 threads, but it was tricky to get it installed soundly with no leaks. I screwed the brass part into my diverter part first, then spun it on the sink to get it to seal properly.

The Good:

* The Filter water flow is awsome.

* The spout appeared to be cheaply made, but don''t worry, it swivels fine and does not leak at all.

* The water quality for my first week is great.

* The Price per gallon will be less than 1 cent if it lasts even 1 year with me.

Conclusion:

I used to use an "NSA" filter in the 1990''s in California, it sold for $60.00, so the price of this unit considering inflation is well priced. I think the other brands that require replacement after so many gallons, or 1-2 months are a SHAM. You will not find a great product like this because your local business only keep items on the shelf that force you to return for the replacement filters often.

Examples:

ZeroWater (12-14 Gallons then it is bad!!! Most expensive gravity filter, and very slow!!!)

Britta Lasts 1-3 months, Good portable solution, but very slow and expensive to keep buying filters.

The filter is good and appears to be high quality. I gave it four stars because my facet required the use of the adapter I received with the filter. The adapter was cheap and did not fit correctly. I did get another one from the local hardware store. I cannot believe that the company would risk its reputation to save a few pennies on an inferior adapter.

I visited relatives in Waco, Tx during early 2005. Their city water had a terrible taste and odor. Shortly thereafter I saw a product demonstration on TV for this Paragon water filter and immediately thought of my relatives in Waco. I ordered the filter for them as a gift. Saying that they were pleased would be a wild understatement. Several of their friends were also impressed with the filter and ordered one for themselves. Time passed and I relocated to the Dallas area. The Dallas city water was also less than desireable and I ordered a filter for myself. That was over six years ago. My filter has worked flawlessly during this period. It is nearing the point of needing to be replaced and I was very pleased to see that Model 3050 is still available.

This is definitely a five star product in anyone''s book.

We absolutly love this filter. We purchased one from sears over 6 years ago and finally had to replace it this year. It is the easiest and best filter I have ever used. Where we live the water is very hard and since we are on a well (no city water for us) it can have some sediment in it. This is the best filter ever. We have tried other filters and styles. From pitcher to faucet mount and none are as good as this 5 stage filter. Now it may be ugly, but we have it in our mud room. We fill up a 5 gallon square water holder, that we found at wal-mart, and keep it in our fridge. This keeps the water cold and easy to access any time. We have puchased some refillable water bottles and keep them in our drinks fridge and keep a few on hand for when we travel or work in the garden. I was so afraid that when our old one finally gave up, that we would have to settle for one of the "replace the filter" weekly, monthy, what ever, kind and finding this squat little gem again was wonderful. We are now going to buy more to give to our friends and family that are still wasting money on "bottled" water. Nobody can believe that such good tasting water can be so easy and inexpensive. The diverter has NEVER failed in 6+ years that we had our old one and the new one has the exact same type of diverter. No little "pull button" that quits after a short time, this has a true + type diverter. A handle that you turn sideways to make a + sign to divert the water and then turn back to 1 to let the tap water run. It is large enough that anybody can use it. Even with our hard water it has never frozen or broke. The spigot at the top is tall enough that you can place almost any size continer under it to fill. We keep it at the edge of the sink so you can fill as tall or deep a container as you need. Try it and you will love the ease and convience of setting it on the counter and forgetting about it for the next 5 years. No maintence is necessary. No changing filters, no calling for refills. What you see is what you get. It may not be beautiful, but it works beautifully.

Aprilaire Humidifier Maintenance Kit for 600 series

Aprilaire Humidifier Maintenance Kit for 600 series
  • 1 # 30 pad
  • 1 #4330 Scale Control Insert
  • 1 #4331 Yellow Orifice
  • 1 #4004 Strainer and 1 #4335 Feed Tube Assembly
  • 1 #4331 Distribution Tray and 1 #4223 Drain Spud

I really just ordered this for the bracket and tray, but getting all the extra parts was nice. I''m hanging on to them for future replacement. This came with all the pieces to those attachment from the solenoid to the humidifier (plus a new hose, which is not included in the product pictures), the gasket for the base of the humidifer for the drain tube, a new pad, the black bracket and tray.

The pad is a branded Aprilaire replacement pad. I''ve been using off-brand for years, this is actually the first time I''ve even had a branded pad since it was new.

The bracket was 100% identical to the bracket I replaced. I didn''t really need to do so, but the old one was funky with deposits on it so I figured I didn''t need it anymore.

The main draw here, for me at least, is the tray. The tray that came installed with my unit had nothing in its base to guide the water to distribute evenly. It was just smooth plastic. But the tray that came in this package has a pad across the bottom with grooves that I assume are meant to help with that even distribution. With my old tray, the water always seemed to pool on the left side (I think the unit isn''t 100% level) and occasionally spill over the top. So far, this new tray seems to work much better.

I could not possibly tell you if these parts are all Aprilaire OEM parts, nothing came in a branded box but the humidifier pad. But every piece seems to be of identical quality and construction. The only difference is the tray. If this tray is an OEM Aprilaire product, then I would love to know what was used in my original install. Regardless, the tray is great!

Worked great for me. When my home was in property management as a rental, my tenants accidentally threw away the filter bracket. When I moved back into my home, my AC repairman serviced my unit and noticed it was missing. For the company to replace was almost $200. I purchased the kit for under $40 and did it myself in about 10 minutes.

Old Friend Men''s Romeo Slipper

Old Friend Men''s Romeo Slipper,Chestnut,10 5EI will be going on my 3 pair in 6 years. I buy a pair every other Christmas. I think I have got my money worth every time. The only reasons I have to buy new ones are the rubber sole breaks apart after almost 2 years. I still use my first pair as outside only for taking out trash and my current pair has gone everywhere, from grocery shopping to relaxing around house. I wear these everywhere. When I go camping I do not wear any other shoe. I would say if they could fix the issue with rubber sole not breaking apart by the stitches I would have not had to buy one every other year or maybe I would. But really how long should a shoe last, I believe I have got my money''s worth....

Very comfortable and supportive. I am a big guy and needed something with nice cushion. These did the trick.

THey also keep your feet very warm.

Just bought these slippers last week based on good reviews on Amazon. Got them right on time yesterday and right out of the box they are the most comfortable slippers I have ever worn. Soft on the inside and firm enough on the outside to just fit to your feet. The inside arch support forms to feet and gives surprisingly firm support. I have weak arches and these slippers really help. Good value that I would recommend to anyone.

It is such a shame that this really comfortable slipper that is hard to find in retail stores, has such a poor sales customer service department. This slipper comes in the hard to find HALF SIZES AND WIDE WIDTH. I ordered 10 1/2 E (wide) and received 10 Medium instead. It cost me $8.00 for shipping and handling and another $8.00 to return these slippers. Since I could not find anything comparible here in Hill Country Texas, where there is little choice, I ordered these slippers again through their customer service line and the agent sent them to me this time with free shipping and handling and GUARANTEED me that these new slippers would be in the correct size 10 1/2 E. Believe it or not these slippers came again in 10 Medium. This is so frustrating that this company can''t seem to get this correct. If these slippers no longer come in half sizes and wide width, why does their advertisement keep saying that they have this Old Friend Men''s Romeo Slipper in half sizes and wide width. There just isn''t any reliable sales service any more and this company just doesn''t seem to care about their reputation.

West Bend 53783 1-3/4-Quart Cordless Water Kettle Save 25% Off

West Bend 53783 1-3/4-Quart Cordless Water Kettle, BlackIf your an expat or just an anglophile and you are left wondering, "Why doesn''t America embrace the electric kettle?!" then this is the item for you. Sleek and aptly priced.

I don''t know why you''d pay around $50 for something that just heats water... brand loyalty? I wouldn''t pay the extra $15-$30 just for the flat metal plate that the Braun or Philips has. (The West Bend kettle has a metal coil to heat up the water: Yes, you have to clean the coiled versions, but it''s exactly the same as cleaning out a coffee maker... white vinegar once in a blue moon. Hey, the Brits and the Irish don''t mind the coil, why should I?)

The stouter version of this I think is too small, unless you live alone and don''t drink that much tea/coffee/cocoa. Between us, my brother and I drink six to eight cups of tea a day, plus hot cereal on top of that and this kettle is more than sufficient (1.7 liters).

Some more good things:

It turns of automatically after it comes to a roaring boil.

See-through panel lets you see the water level.

So quiet, you wouldn''t know it''s on...

That''s why it has a little red light that goes on.

Has a locking top so as to avoid spills.

The black fits in with my kitchen''s decor.

It also comes in handy for when I''m cooking, using up all the burners and need just a bit of hot water, quickly. Or even if I am cooking rice or pasta, it''s easier to heat up the water in the electric kettle and then pour it into the pot on the stove.

Two complaints: The cord is thick and not very flexible (the cord itself is about two feet). I have this plugged into the same outlet as my microwave and cannot use the two at the same time or else I''ll have a circuit short... but then again, whoever remodeled the kitchen did a bad job on the electicity.

Makes a great present for any hot beverage lover or college student.

Given the price this Kettle works ok, but:

it fails to shut off quite frequently, when boiling point is reached (which is why I ditched my old el. kettle)

it doesn''t shut off, when you take it off the base (so you put it back empty and it''s trying to boil the little water left inside)

you have to fit it onto the base (better models can be put on 360 degrees).

If you wanna use this a lot, get a better one.

Update: Yesterday I started boiling a quart of water and went to do something else in the mean time. Of course I forgot about my water. When I returned to the kitchen, the kettle had shut off but only after a full quart of water had evaporated :(

I was recently traveling in New Zealand and every where you went (hotels, RV''s, etc) had an electric water kettle. This was great and I really appreciated the automatic shut off, because my boyfriend keeps burning up our tea kettles. So I saw this one, read the reviews and decided to get it. I am so disspointed. The kettle heats water great, BUT the automatic shut off doesn''t work at all. This is something that a few other reviews mentioned, so I am sending it back. I do not recommend getting this model.

It was great while it lasted but it only lasted three months. I was thrilled with how fast and convenient it was until the heating element stopped working. I did use it almost daily so if you are looking for something for minimal use it may last you longer. I''m now caught in the exchange fun of Amazon says return to manufacturer and West Bend says return to original place of purchase. I don''t expect either will be worth the effort for a $20 piece of equiptment.

Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub Wet/Dry Vacuum Save 18% Off

Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub Wet/Dry Vacuum, FH40010BOkay,

So I bought this product today (from Target, not from Amazon.com) and I want to begin by saying, undisputably, outstanding.

I was hesitant to purchase this product because last year I made a huge mistake by buying Bissel''s Flip It (electronic broom vacuum and mop).

Before I begin my review of this product, let me begin with the Bissel equivalent. I bought the product because I''m 26 years old and was living in New Orleans in the French Quarter. I would have friends over all the time, and they''d track in the quarter filth all over the hardwood. I bought the Bissel because it seemed to make sense. It''s an electronic broom vacuum on one side, then you flip the handle over to the other side and it becomes a wet map. It came with two attachable mop features, a non-moving brush and a small microfiber pad.

The Bissel product was awful. It weighed about 20 pounds (much heavier than this product) and the vacuum wouldn''t pick up anything, not the smallest dust or debris. It would blow dust away before the unit could get to it. When you flipped it over, the electronic mop side did what it was advertised to do. The only problem was the squeegy would push water around. The unit had to build a suction to pick up water. It wouldn''t build a suction unless you lifted up lightly on the unit while pulling it back. Then it picked up water fine, though, again, the unit weighed about 20 pounds.

I bought the Bissel product on Amazon.com for about $189 dollars. But I didn''t open it until about a month after it arrived, so by the time I got to use it was too late to return. I wrote to Bissel to see if they would give me my money back and they declined, saying they would only replace it. I gave it away to a friend, and he put it on the curb two days later.

This Hoover product is completely different. It doesn''t just have a microfiber pad, it has a moving, agitating brush that really cleans the tile (in my new home in Arizona). I rebought this sort of product because, for anyone that hasn''t lived in Arizona, the area is extremely dusty and a lot of tile is textured. My intention was to buy it to *try* to clean the tile and then return it. This product is not going back.

The people who lived in the house before me had coated the tile with some sort of protectant which was peeling off and collecting dirt. They also brought in their bicycles so when i purchased, the first goal was to try to buff them off. Nothing worked. As of today, when I bought the machine, they''re gone. So is the peeling protecting that was gathering dirt. Someone said in a review ''it won''t clean my grout.'' The grout is clean, so I don''t know what they''re talking about.

The bottom line is, some people have a mental illness. You can look at their profiles and see the number of reviews they do, and it''s clear they purchase things solely to review them later. They''re the same people who religiously call into QVC and HSN. The same people who complain "it''s so heavy," are the ones saying, "it doesn''t have this, this, this, and this." If it had those things, it wouldn''t be as light as it is, simple physics. The vacuum works fine, so does the mop. You don''t have to flip it, or lift it, to build a suction and get the mop function to work. It glides over the tile with relative ease, and though I''m in shape, it''s impressively light.

My only complaint was when I went to remove the collection resevoir, I didn''t know you had to hold it very tightly. The bottom fell out and spilt all over the floor. I washed out the resevoir and replaced it, and the mess was recleaned in less than 3 minutes.

Buy this product.

Although I had a bit of trouble getting this machine as the first one sent was defective, the replacement arrived quickly. I have travertine tile (very textured) floors throughout my kitchen and family room and NOTHING has ever gotten them clean of the Georgia red clay where I live! I have tried everything from a steam-mop machine to hands-and-knees scrubbing. This machine WORKS! The only other time I''ve seen them this clean was after paying for commercial cleaning which was quite expensive. I''m glad I decided to go with a replacement after getting one that didn''t work the first time. I definitely recommend! A white paper towel wiped across the floor stays white...amazing.

My husband got me this for Christmas (per my request) and it is nothing short of amazing. I cleaned our a portion of our hardwood kitchen floor to try it out and was amazed (and sort of disgusted) by the water that ended up in the dirty water tank. My floors get cleaned once a week by my cleaning people (who may no longer be needed) and they always LOOKED clean, but clearly they are not. After testing on that portion of the floor I continued and finished the kitchen, did 4 bathrooms, the laundry room, and our basement bar. I couldn''t ber happier! For less than the price of one cleaning visit I have cleaned all of my floors in less than an hour and know they are all clean now! Thanks Hoover!

We have all hard floors in our house. Pushing a "Swifter" around just didn''t seem to get the floors clean. The floor mate works pretty much as advertised. It takes some practice and an occasional wiping up excess water with a rag. The vacuum "alone" function doesn''t work so great. For example dog hair mostly doesn''t make it up to the canister. It picks up everything when it''s in the washing mode, though. If it worked well as a floor vacuum, I would give it 5 stars.

The machine does everything the ad says. I do want to tell you a little info on it (especially if you are out of shape or overweight)

To me it felt heavier than 16 pounds before adding water. But not unreasonably.

If you have stuck on food or gum or whatever.....the brushes with not scrub it away, so get this up beforehand.

May be wise to alternate hands during use or you may get an ache in your waist.

Practice makes perfect on getting tile floor surface to not look a little filmy.

If you use the hoover floormate detergent the room will smell nice and fresh for awhile.

The drying part of the routine takes excess water up but floor will still need a little time to finish drying.

I plan to use my Floormate often and all in all am glad I bought it.

Hoover Nano Cyclonic Compact Bagless Upright Vacuum

Hoover Nano Cyclonic Compact Bagless Upright VacuumI picked this up at Walmart and I''m quite happy with this purchase for the money I paid and the value. I hope Amazon ends up stocking this vacuum and competes against Walmart as I would have gladly bought this item from Amazon if it had been available. However, buying it at Walmart did have the slight advantage of being able to see the vacuum in person before purchasing.

PROS:

The suction on this vacuum is quite strong for the size. The cyclonic makes it pretty much suck as well as any other 12A vacuum I think I''ve ever used in the past.

Very lightweight vacuum (less than 12 lbs as advertised) as I''m not a strong guy but I can pick this thing up with one hand which is great because my house is a 3-floor townhouse with a lot of stairs. If my mom''s vacuum ever breaks, I know what vacuum I''m having her buy as a replacement. Heck Mother''s day is coming up.

The handle is used as part of the extension of the vacuum hose so you don''t need to have an addition part/piece that you might lose. everything is on-board.

Very easy to clean-out, dyson style one-button push bottom empty canister.

The brush attachment even works with my Eureka 71B Hand-Held Vacuum to make a great combination.

Even with a 1 year warranty, you can buy one of these each year for 5 years and still end up paying less than a Dyson. That''s a better warranty than having one vacuum with a 5 year warranty.

CONS:

The vacuum cord is very short. Its fine if you vacuum one room but you do need to keep unplugging and replugging into another wall socket a bit too often. Or buy an extension cord but having to remember to grab that each would be a minor annoyance.

Knowing to push down with your foot rather than having a button or lever was a little weird and took me a bit to figure out.

8/13/2011 UPDATE

I just used this vacuum again today and figured I would do an update on my review. It''s been around 3 months now and this vacuum has still been worth every penny spent. I''m quit glad I purchased this at Walmart and I hope in the future amazon will be able to compete on the price. This vacuum is still great and covers everything I need for my house, is light-weight, has very good suction, and reminds me each time I use it how glad I didn''t buy a Dyson for like 8 times the price.

I''ve been able to figure out that for the small problem of the cord sometimes getting in the way while vacuuming that there is a small hook under the handle to keep the cord out of the way so that I don''t have to keep grabbing the cord.

The bagless cyclonic keeps the dust and dirt from getting out and I have not had any issues with feeling like I was breathing or smelling anything from vacuuming.

I still wish there was a lever for pulling the handle back to vacuum but the little foot icon is a good reminder that I just remember to hold it down when needed and it is sturdy enough where it hasn''t caused any concerns.

If you are at all on the fence just go to Walmart''s site to check out the 80 plus positive reviews.

We just picked this up today at Wal*mart as an emergency replacement (again) on yet another vacuum cleaner. It seems we''re replacing vacuums about every 9-15 months! And we only have two area rugs, I don''t get it. Anyway, I was looking for something inexpensive, lightweight without a bunch of stupid attachments that would fall off/get lost and were difficult to switch back and forth. This vacuum is very lightweight but does an excellent job. The hose wraps around the back/bottom like many vacuums do but the handle actually pops right off (a little latch holds it in place, very easy to un-latch with one hand) so you can slide it off and snap it right on to the hose for quick crumb/upholstery/baseboard cleaning. I also like that the extender latches on with on-hand latch, all of the other vacuum cleaners I''ve had, you would just slide the extender on and they would fall off many times, every annoying

This also has the power button that you operate with your foot, step on to turn it on, step on again to turn it off, simple.

There is another button that you step on with your foot to make it so you can sweep your hardwood/laminate/tile/whatever floors without the brush spinning, just the suction. I really like that, I''ve found with brush cleaners, the brush would grind against the floor (so much for auto-adjusting) and fling the bigger stuff back under the vacuum and at my feet. This one doesn''t do that at all. We have dogs, cats and kids and just on my first run-through I swept two area rugs with popcorn kernels, dog hair and heaven only knows what, all of it came up without a problem. Then I ran it under the kitchen table, sucked the cheerios up with no problems and grabbed the dust bunnies right out from under the sideboard. It doesn''t lie completely flat for getting under the sofa/tables, but it comes pretty close.

It''s very lightweight, I am able to hold it with one hand and use the hose part with the other to get the steps.

The only negative I have with it is that it has a shorter cord than I''m used to. Easy enough fix with an extension cord, but something to mention.

There are two sponge-type filters that say they can be cleaned with water and one that looks like it may also be able to be sprayed off with water, and of course no bags, so the only things you''d have to replace on this would be if you broke the belt (or when the belt eventually stretches out like it does with all vacuum cleaners). I priced the replacement at the store, it was about $4. The dirt container is very simple to take off to empty and snaps right back on, it''s also light weight but sturdy.

So, for right now, this is a great vacuum, it only cost me fifty bucks (plus tax) at Walmart. I will update this review should there be any issues that pop up or if I discover anything else that I really love about it.

This is the second Hoover product I''ve purchased since my Oreck died a year ago. Both under $100. Again, I am amazed at what I got for the money. I have had cheap vacuums before (dirt devils, bissels, etc.) that were junk. Got this one as a second vacuum for the kids to use in their rooms upstairs (tired of lugging my other one upstairs -or not lugging it upstairs, so that the floors never get cleaned!).

PROS: This little machine was $50 at Walmart and is cyclonic, bagless. Very small and light. The roller motor can be turned off for bare floors, which I have a lot of. Not a typical feature in a low price vac. Does a pretty good job on the hard floors and a better job on the carpet. But a better job on the hard floors than any other vac. I''ve had since my Oreck (which didn''t do so great on carpet, and had a roller motor I COULDN''T turn off). Dirt compartment opens easily: trap door at bottom of removable canister that opens with the touch of a finger. So you can just hold the cannister well into your trashcan, open trap door, and let the stuff fall in. No "poof" of dirt from yanking open a tight compartment from the top (like I''ve experienced with other bagless machines).

CONS: Short cord, and the hose requires 2 hands to assemble for use. Not a deal-breaker for me because of what I paid. You really wouldn''t expect a machine of this size and weight to have a super-long cord anyway.

For the price I can''t really complain. I paid about $60 + tax @ Walmart locally for it around the end of April/early May and it worked great at first! The vacuum is easy to clean, you can wash out the sponge-type filter but make sure it''s 100% dry before replacing as it''ll grow mold AND any moisture will affect the suction. I''m not too fond of the handle wand as it has a permanently affixed crevice tool on it which then goes into the brush tool. The crevice tool seems to leak around where it''s attached to the handle/wand although the suction is pretty good. Just recently I decided to vacuum up the same area a few times to have almost the same amount in the dirt cup each time which lets me know that it''s not working to its'' fullest potential anymore. You can''t adjust the height of the brush head to different carpeting, rugs, etc. but we don''t have rugs here so it''s fine with our particular type of carpeting but I don''t think it''d work as well on shag carpet. Cord is slightly short but I don''t mind that so much. All in all, for the price, it isn''t BAD but I wish they had the vacuum I''d wanted in stock at the time so I wouldn''t have to replace the vacuum within 6 months or so.

Pros:

Very lightweight

Compact

Simple to operate (push down with foot to use & foot pedal to turn on)

One-touch dirt cup emptying

Price

Cons:

Leaks around wand crevice tool

Filters cost 1/2 as much as the cost of the vacuum itself

Crevice tool isn''t removable & no extension wands

Lasts about 6mos

When we got this vacuum, it was awesome. Strong suction, cleaned up everything. This lasted for exactly a week. Then the clogs started. Now the vacuum has to be completely disassembled every time we use it. Why is that? Pet hair completely clogs the hoses. I haven''t emptied the tank in several months, because nothing ever makes it there, it all gets stuck in the hoses. Emptying them completely does no good; they just clog right back up. The clogs cause suction to decrease drastically, and the vacuum winds up moving more dust around than it cleans up. Complete waste of money.

I got a little angst-y over buying a portable washer--I hate, hate, hate the laundromat (we live in a 4th floor walkup apartment in Manhattan) but was still suspicious that a $220 machine could actually be the solution to our laundry problems! In fact, I did a lot of research before buying the Haier HLP23E and looked at some other much more expensive portable washers (like the GE and Whirlpool, which are both about $600 or more). Haier isn''t a brand that I''m familiar with and I was worried this washer would be cheap/flimsy, would break right away, or would arrive damaged. However, after reading many, many reviews, I felt the general gist was--this is a pain in the butt to set up, Haier''s customer service is not great, etc., instruction manual sketchy, etc., but the actual washer itself works well. In addition, the much more expensive portable washers did NOT get much better reviews; in fact, there seems to be less info about them online than the Haier washers. So we went ahead and got the Haier HLP23E (Manhattanites--we did NOT buy it on Amazon, we picked it up at J&R Electronics downtown. They had it in stock and available for in-store pickup. I''d read some reviews saying that the washers arrived dented and this allowed us to avoid having it shipped or paying shipping charges. We were able to jam the box into the backseat of a regular cab...barely. It did not fit in the trunk.)

Anyway, we got it home and set it up. As others have said, the instruction manual is not great and we found the set-up advice in other buyers'' reviews helpful. The bottom, screw-on, plastic noise reduction panel was probably the most complicated part of setup--it is REALLY HARD To get it to line up with the holes for screws. We did eventually get it on. The panel now says "FRONT" on the side that is supposed to face the floor (when the washer is upright) and we decided "FRONT" meant it should point toward the front of the washer. We got it on after a lot of effort.

After that setup wasn''t bad...for us it required a few trips to the hardware store, though this wouldn''t be the case for everyone. We connected the washer to our shower head, which required a different adapter (turns out shower and sink faucets have different threads). We got that at Home Depot (fyi, the shower head adapter is not compatible with the quick-pull-off sink adapter). We used a level to make sure the washer was absolutely level. Also, make sure you follow the terrible manual''s advice on how to position the drain hose, because if you don''t, it will leak.

Once it''s set up...yay! Well, granted we''ve only had it for a week, but I''ve been really happy so far. The washer is very, very quiet, and it does its job. The clothes come out clean and the spin cycle gets them damp dry so drying on drying racks in our apartment isn''t much of a hassle. The washer also holds more clothes than I thought it would--there is no agitator and that means there is more room. I think my largest load has been one queen size sheet along with a couple pairs of boxers/T-shirts.

A couple other little things I noticed...

*The washer''s instruction manual says that the lint trap is included in a plastic bag with the instruction manual. I was worried that ours was missing...but in fact it was already installed in the machine.

*The washer cleans by "pulsating," not agitating--I wasn''t familiar with the sound, it sounds like (very quiet) thumps. The washer really is quiet but it might not sound like a washer you''ve had before.

*I read somewhere else that HE detergent is recommended with these washers--I think because otherwise there might be way too many bubbles going down the sink drain. I think the instruction manual recommended using "concentrated" detergent--I took this to mean HE, and I just use a splash at the bottom of the machine.

*The instruction manual--bad, as noted--lists two different sets of instructions for loading the machine. In fact, I load it the way you would any machine. I put the detergent at the bottom (just a little bit). Then I add the clothes. Then I power on and select the cycle and hit start.

*The manual also mentions a "water heater" built into the washer...as far as I know, it doesn''t have one. I just vary the output of the faucet based on what I want going in. This means that if I want a warm wash and cold rinse I have to go and turn the faucet to cold when the rinse cycle begins.

*If there are detergent dispensers, I did not see them. I pour it in the bottom of the tub. I don''t think there is a fabric softener dispenser.

*Your faucet must be on BEFORE you select the cycle/hit start...might be self-explanatory to some but wasn''t for me :)

*Oh yeah...the HLP23E doesn''t look like the picture! Or at least mine doesn''t--mine doesn''t have a see-through top. Instead it has a jointed white top that folds open. I am fine with that; I leave the washer open when it''s not in use to avoid any problems with mildew.

*It''s super satisfying to see dirty water come out the drain.

Sorry that I wrote a book here--but hopefully it''ll be helpful to others. It is just so great not to have to go to the laundromat anymore. Having a washer in the apartment is a luxury in Manhattan...and you can really make the cost of the washer back quickly (we were spending like $50 a month at the laundromat, sending laundry out is even more expensive).

I live in a one-bedroom unit in a massive apartment building with 6 laundry machines in the basement. I did not buy this unit from Amazon but rather from a Chinese electronics dealer in my area. Haier is very popular in China and the machine came highly recommended by the dealer.

The dealer delivered it to me, set it up and away we went. I have had this unit for about a month and here are my comments:

1) The unit is quieter than a traditional laundry machine.

2) I have had no problems with balancing the machine or with water intake. It fills quickly so long as there is high water pressure. The machine balances itself by stopping and starting until the clothes are balanced.

3) The high water level can accommodate a lot of clothes. I do about 3 loads a week: shirts/undies, pants, and towels.

4)It uses a lot less soap than traditional washers (about half I would say)

5)The regular wash runs for about 45 mins which I found excessive. The quickwash runs for about 22 minutes and I find that my clothes are perfectly clean. I only use the regular wash for very soiled items.

6) My unit came with casters so I had no problem. You may also buy casters at the hardware store... the casters are fairly standard.

7) Hooking it up to the sink did require a trip to the hardware store but it was easy to find the adapter as I brought the intake hose with me.

This washer has changed my life! I live in an apartment and having to go to the laundromat was killing my weekends. So, if you can think of nicer things to do than spending a Saturday or Sunday at the laundromat, this washer is for you.

It is one of the larger compact washers out there 20 inches wide. That way, it is large enough to fit a decent sized load, yet small enough to fit most closets and other tight spaces.

I can usually wash either 10 XL t-shirts, 3 jeans, or one queen sized sheet set at once. Just make sure to load things loosely until the washer is full and select the high water level, which the washer does NOT do by default. Clothes come out perfectly clean. This washer works much better with liquid detergent than powder detergent, which tends to accumulate in the lint filter. Although it does have a powder detergent dispenser, I would advise against using powder detergent.

The only two wash cycles I use are normal for almost everything and heavy for whites. The normal cycle takes 45 minutes. Not bad at all. The display tells you the time remaining. The washer does not have a fabric softener dispenser. If you want to use it, add it manually to the last (2nd) rinse (when 14 minutes show on the timer). Two rinses are nice no more detergent residue on my clothes.

I noticed some people have trouble hooking up this this washer. The quick adapter will work with virtually any bathroom faucets that come with the little aerator which you have to unscrew. The drain hose has to drain in the sink because it must be above water level. Otherwise, water will drain inadvertently. This is true for all top load washers. At the same time, the drain hose should not reach a maximum height of 46 or 49 inches, because the pump is not strong enough to pump water that far up. This should not be a problem with most bathroom sinks, although some kitchen sinks might be taller.

The only problem I have had with this washer is the location of the drain hose. It attaches to the bottom right side of the washer. The user manual says you may reroute it to the bottom left side, but you can''t. There is an opening made for that, but due to the location of the drain pump, it is impossible to use that opening. So, if your sink is located to the left of your washer, the hose will be too short because it cannot reach around the washer. I had to extend my drain hose using a foot of hose from the hardware store and a hose clamp.

Overall, I am kicking myself for not having bought this quiet little washer sooner. It could have saved me so many trips to the laundromat.

So, I bought this washer about a month ago and I have to say that even though I was so excited to be doing laundry in my apartment, I found this washer not as convenient as I would have liked, considering that I had to babysit it.

Here is my list of pros:

1)You can do laundry in your own home! As a New Yorker I can not overstate the convenience of this. I would write more about this but since this is the reason I bought it...

2)It fit about 10-12 items in it. This included pants, skirts, underwear and shirts. I mixed it up.

3)The control panel is real nice. smooth even.

4)Even without the muffler,it''s an okay volume (see below).

Here is my list of cons:

1)It arrived dented. Not only were the thingees that were supposed to connect it to the sink dented but so far I have not been able to attach the bottom sound muffler plastic plate because the body of the washer is too dented to do that.

2)I have to babysit it. I know I already mentioned that but here are the deets: it would do a wash cycle and then tell me that there wasn''t enough water coming through the sink. How much water do you need, little fella? The sink was turned all the way on and streaming away so maybe consider hooking it up to a fire hydrant? Waterfall?

3)The metal widget to adapt to the sink (even if it had been undented) was well, unique. They give you these rubber washers which are supposed to make things connect to your sink. These washers may work for others. For me? Nyet. So I went to the hardware store, with my washer, consulted with the plumbing dept, and bought a different piece which I then installed to my sink (FYI, apparently in plumbing there are either big threads or small threads and the threads on my sink were the wrong kind).

4) The drainage tube should be hung lower than the faucet. I found this difficult and logistically if you have a small apartment a bucket might be a good idea because otherwise the spin cycle does not get all the water out unless the drainage tube is lower than the input tube.

5) No casters. It''s on a furniture dolly because I wanted it to move around but I foolishly concluded that ''portable'' and ''casters included'' go together.

6)Terrible, I mean TERRIBLE instruction booklet. I rate the instruction booklet negative 65 stars.

I''ve only used my washer a few times so I''ll update when I have more to say.

We love this machine. We live in New York City in a 5th floor walk-up apartment, and this machine has been great for us. We feel foolish for not having bought this a lot sooner.

Setting it up is easy. You just affix the dampener on the bottom and then connect the hoses. It took about 20 minutes from the time of opening the box to having it ready for a test run. Have pliers, a wrench, a screwdriver, and a level handy. One tip: be sure to use a wrench or pliers to tighten all fasteners on the water lines. It makes a big differences in preventing drips and little sprays. There is still a really slight trickle off the sink adapter, but it''s barely anything and so I don''t worry about it.

Some people have complained that their products arrived significantly banged up. We didn''t have that problem: we ordered ours through Amazon but it was delivered locally from a J&R store by UrbanExpress. No scratches or dents---looked pristine when it arrived.

It handles a pretty sizable load with no problem: last night I did two oxford shirts, 5 pairs of boxers, 5 pairs of socks, and three T-shirts; this was what I would call a 3/4 full capacity load. You could get away with probably two pairs of jeans, to give you an idea.

Definitely worth it for apartment dwellers like us. Laundry in our building is $3.40 total for one wash and dry load. My wife and I have about 5 of these loads a month. We don''t pay for water in our building, as is the case for many people I know in NYC. So the machine pays for itself in about a year and a half. That''s not even counting the huge cost (in time and hassle) of schlepping laundry down from our fifth floor apartment to the basement.

Old Friend Men''s Slipper

Mens Fleece Lined Bootie SlippersI needed to replace my old worn out slippers, so I began a search to find something warm and durable. After reviewing several brands, I decided on these "Old Friend" bootees. First and foremost heed the other reviews that mention size. They DO RUN SMALL. My shoe size is 8.5. Normally I would have ordered a 9, but I heeded the other reviews and ordered a 10. I figured even if they were a bit big, it would be fine as they were slippers and not everyday outdoor shoes. Well, the 10 fits perfectly. As for warmth, they definitely are very warm and it gets cold up here in Upstate New York. The soles are thick and have great traction for that snowy trip to the mail box. And the insoles are GREAT. They are a nice combination of memory foam and neoprene which makes them verrrry comfortable. They are also covered with 100% sheepskin, and they are washable and replaceable. For a slipper they provide good arch support as well. The price is right for a product that is well made, i.e. soles stitched to uppers not glued. And the sheepskin "collar" is large enough to cover the ankle well which is a nice plus. Overall, an excellent product I''m sold! Just be aware of the sizing issue.

Well made, very warm, but the sizes run small. Ordered a 9M (my shoe size), returned them for a 10EE. Still too tight across middle but loose in the heel. Returned those as well.

I bought these to replace some Minnetonka''s I had for 12 years.

These Old Friend''s slippers run very small, at least a full size smaller and don''t last near as long. If you do order them, you will want to go up a whole size larger. I have only had these for 1 year and they are in worse condition than my Minnetonka''s were when I replaced them. The soles cracked and then split open. I will not buy this brand again.

After searching the internet for a pair of WIDE hard sole sheep skin slippers to replace my worn out 3yr old medium width Acorns,I was jublient to find a foot product produced in China that came in a width other then med.

When the slippers arrived sooner then I expected I was extatic. The excitment ended when I tryed puting the slippers on and the first thing that came to my mind ,I''m going to need a shoe horn. I examined the box and it had a sticker on it that said wide, but also imprinted on the box was M 10. Examining the bottom of the sole of the slippers I found it stamped with a 10M.

placing the slippers on a table alongside my 10M ACORNS, I found the 10 2E Old Friend slippers to be narrower in the full length of the sole except in the arch area. Old Friend advertises extra roomy toe area,"another BOGUS claim", the medium width ACORNs were a full 3/8" wider in the toe area.

So what we have at the Old Friends organization is a SCAM. They claim their shoes come in different withs , when in realty the only thing that is differnt is the sticker that they place on the outside of the box, They only make one shoe width. I would expect more from a Austrailian company.

Love the concept of these slippers; used to have another pair from you-know-who. the sheepskin lining really is very warm---but, "W" certainly doesn''t stand for "wide". I went through two sets of these from Amazon, who were gracious in the return, but my size D width foot just doesn''t fit these otherwise wonderful slippers.
