Old English, LemonOil, Trigger Sprayer Save 8% Off

Old English, LemonOil, Trigger Sprayer, 12 OunceWe have a few outside "animals" carved from wood. They are very dry, so I started putting lemon oil on them to try to revive them It is working wonders. Instead of buying it at the grocery store, I ordered this. It was a better value than anything else I have found.

Hamilton BeachStay or Go Digital Thermal Coffeemaker Save 14% Off

Hamilton BeachStay or Go Digital Thermal CoffeemakerI was given this as a gift. I found reviews for it (either the model in all black or brushed aluminum) favorable. Some people rated it negatively because they failed to read any directions and didn''t press the "PRESS TO POUR" button on the carafe. Instead they unscrewed the top off and said it spilled when pouring. RTFM You always have to look to see if bad reveiws are due to the user''s mistakes and lack of knowledge of the reviewer. They often are.

The two most negative things is...

1. When making a full pot I almost always get a lot of grinds. The problem is that the filter cup fills too quickly and the water level goes over the height of the paper filter. I''ve tried to find a taller filter, but they seem to all be the same size. Usually I either do a single mug (three 6 oz. cup servings) or the full carafe(10 servings). I can''t recall if I''ve tried 6 or 8 servings to see if grinds are an issue there.

2. the plastic travel mugs retain water between the stainless steel outer shell and the inner plastic shell. UNtil I realized what the issue was, they would dribble (dish/cleaning water not coffee) when I drank from them. I find water gets in between especially after a run in the dishwasher. To get the water out, hold them by the bottom. With them facing upside down wave the mug back and forth (like a pendulum). Do it very quickly and the water will shake out. Once I found the problem, the constant dribble from a clean cup stopped. They keep the coffee reasonably warm for a while. Especially if you run hot water in the mugs before you use them-so they don''t leech heat from the coffee to equalize.

3. the Hour/Minute buttons might be too easy hit and change the clock time. They should have a set button. I haven''t done it, but that''s the only negative.

For singles or a lone couple this is great.

I like the double spout so I can brew one mug, two mugs or a whole pot.

No need to dirty the carafe when I''m making small amounts which is 95% of the time.

The Timed brew is easy to set and works well.

I use unbleached paper cup filters. (this uses a bucket, not the cone shaped filters.)

The coffee bucket lifts out on a loop handle and is easy to dispose of grinds.

The instructions it gave on measures of coffee were good. When I used the instruction on the brand of ground coffee, the coffee tasted terrible. The coffee company said to use almost twice as much ground coffee than Hamilton Beach says.

I''ve already experimented with Torino''s sugar free vanilla syrup, and some ground cinnamon in the coffee bucket add a great cinnamon spice without the sharp taste of the grains of cinnamon floating on top of the coffee.

I''ve had the coffee maker about two years now. Despite being mostly plastic, I''ve had no breakdowns. Nothing has fallen off or cracked.

Feb 2013

Coffee maker still going strong. I rarely use the carafe, but the travel mugs are still how I make coffee every day.

We bought this to keep in our Motorhome. We had a certain department that we wanted a coffee maker for since it has a slide down cover and only a certain size would fit and this one fit perfectly. We tested it first to be sure it worked and that we would know how to pour it like the other reviewer had said, read the instructions. It even stayed warm for about 7 hours, not hot but warm. I tested the mugs that came with it and I didn''t have any dribbling, not to say we never will be when I tried it there weren''t any. I give it a thumbs up as it is what we were looking for.

Buy Hamilton BeachStay or Go Digital Thermal Coffeemaker Now

When I buy a coffee maker I expect two things. I expect the unit to heat the water sufficiently to brew exceptional coffee, and it should pour without dribble.

Regarding the former, this unit scores five stars, provided the reservoir is filled with room temperature water. The heated water travels through a plastic tube back through the reservoir on its way to the spray nozzle, so if the reservoir is filled with refridgerated water, there''s a heat transfer issue at play that decreases the temp of the heated water before it reaches the coffee grounds. With ambient temp water I''m getting about 195F; very good. With refridge water, about 180F; not bad but certainly not optimal.

Regarding dribble, I have not experienced the problems mentioned throughout these reviews; perhaps the spout has been redesigned due to complaints. And I''m no stranger to dribble; I''ve used many a Mr. Coffee machine so I''ve fought the dribble battle. So five stars from me for lack of dribble.

As for the carafe, it''s thick and it outperforms the Black and Decker I had. However, I don''t have heightened expectations on any stainless steel carafe keeping coffee piping hot more than two hours, and this unit meets my two hour mark without issue.

Finally, HB added a couple of bells and whistles to complete the product.

Programmable; always nice to have.

A "1-4 Cup" setting that adds 5-10 degrees and slows the spray to get more flavor from the grounds, but I don''t detect much of a flavor difference.

Bottom line: a solid machine and I''d purchase it again.

I purchased this at Kohl''s for $69 bucks. It is awesome! I used to have a Melitta take 2 that brewed into to go mugs or into a carafe. The Hamilton Beach brews much hotter coffee. The carafe is larger and keeps it warm for a long while. I took a mug to work 2 days ago and it stayed warm on my desk about an hour longer than the melitta mugs. I like that you can use any travel mug with this unit. I have only one complaint...the mugs leak water after washing. Water gets trapped in the black rings and then leaks out. So, be sure you are dry before you head out.

Pentek HD-950 Whole House Filter System
  • Ametek/Pentek Filter Housings
  • 10" Big Blue Ametek/Pentek Housing (4" Dia. Filter)

I''ve used this system in three residences over the last 12 years. It works great, and easy to change filters. Make sure you use a new o-ring when you change filters, to insure you have a good fit. Great rage of filters for your particular application. I recently changed to a filter to remove chloramines, as the local municipality now adds that, in addition to the chlorine as a disinfectant.

This stupid prefilter is flawed by design.

1) It''s super hard to screw and unscrew the housing even with that plastic wrench. How tight is tight enough? A bit not tight and water flood out. Too tight and your next time of unscrewing it will be hell. You''ll fear that you''re ripping your entire plumbing system off! Why is there not a solid reaffirming stop to this when it''s fully tightened?

2) Its O-ring escapes way too easily. It''s already a lil'' too big when new, after being used for a few months, it sure won''t fit as it swells. There you go, $6 O-ring replacement each and every time (almost).

3) There should be an indicator of some sort some how to indicate that its cartridge is saturated with gunk. I heard that a clear housing won''t help much as it will get this dirty coating on its inner surface way too soon, blocking visual check of the dirtiness of the cartridge itself. So what''s the solution?! I want to know WHEN to change the cartridge!!

Hate hate hate this Pentek prefilter system. Are there better choices out there?

BISSELL Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner Save 20% Off

BISSELL Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner, Titanium, 73H5A friend of mine got a baby Cavalier King Charles last year, and though it''s a sweet dog, it''s peed/pooped on her carpet countless times. Walking into her apartment, you''re immediately assaulted with the strong smell of old puppy pee -which is pretty nasty.

Aside from the odor and carpet stains, her puppy had also pretty much ruined a microfiber sofa and chair in the living room (she hasn''t yet learned that wise pet owners are better off with leather upholstery and hardwood/tile floors).

When I got this pet vac, I knew immediately where to try it out -we set it up at her apartment and let it rip. First we pre-treated some areas (using the pre-treat product included in the package), then we steam cleaned all the carpet. This machine is AMAZING. The amount of steam and circulation that happens is incredible. The carpet was steaming hot to the touch after the cleaner passed over it. On some tougher spots (like a plant which had a pretty serious pee ring all around it), we did a couple passes. Bottom line, the carpets were cleaned, the apartment smelled better. Amazing!

Next we did the upholstery. Getting the spot cleaner hose to work was a little tricky, so I suggest you read the instructions first, because we definitely should have. However, we were also able to seriously reduce the pee smell on the microfiber upholstery, and also remove the stains. Unfortunately, since pee stains on cushions go way deeper than the surface upholstery, the smell came back (a little bit) over the next couple days, but it''s very slight and we may try to re-clean and see if that makes it even better.

I guess the one ''con'' to this unit is tied to a pro -the one about how much steam it puts out. While it feels POWERFUL and leaves carpets steaming hot and smelling/looking super fresh, it also goes through the water reservoir pretty quickly. For her small 2-bedroom apartment (and we only did one of the bedrooms), we had to refill several times. I think this is a minor annoyance, though, given the fact that this machine will save your carpet and upholstery from even stubborn, ingrained pet stains (and other stains as well).

Those of you with a single stain, or with a very limited amount of carpeting, might be better off just renting a cleaner or hiring someone... but those of you with lots of carpet and young pets will probably benefit from this unit. It''s good to use even if you don''t have pet stains, but if you DO have them -I''ve never seen another retail unit perform like this. It blows the rental ones from home improvement stores out of the water. A worthy investment if you anticipate putting much time into maintaining the cleanliness of your carpets and cloth upholstery in the years to come.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) First, a small rant: I am always stunned when high-end products make it to sale with basic design flaws. When you take this "Bissell Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner" out of the box, it comes in two parts; the lower functioning unit and the upper handle. You have to screw on the handle, but for reasons I can''t understand Bissell thought it was a good idea to have the screws mount in behind the support handle. They forget the fundamental mechanics of a screwdriver--they don''t work so well around corners.

In order to assemble, you need to get down under the support handle and angle up your screwdriver from the bottom. And because the screw wells are so deep, you need a Phillips screwdriver with at least a six-inch shaft that is thin enough to fit under the support handle and into the deep wells.

All of my screwdrivers were either too thick or too short, so I ended up having to buy a special screwdriver just to put this together. Not a big deal if you already own one, but I am still astounded that Bissell thought that behind the support handle was a logical place to put screw mounts. Apparently, this is pretty standard with Bissell deep cleaners, but you have to wonder why.

So! Rant aside, once it is all together, what do you have? Something pretty darn nice.

This is the first carpet cleaner I have ever owned. In the past, I have always rented the clumsy Rug Doctor from the local grocery store, and then only when I was moving apartments so I could get my deposit back. But I am older now and have allergy issues, and so I am happy to make carpet cleaning more of a regular activity.

The Bissell is smaller and more compact than the rentals. It is more like a bulked-up vacuum cleaner, allowing for easy storage and maneuverability. When you are an apartment dweller like myself, that storage part is a necessity. This deep cleaner fits in our hall closet without too much difficulty. Bonus points right there. But "smaller and more compact" also means less water capacity, obviously. The tank doesn''t hold nearly the same amount of water as the rental cleaners. I live in a fairly large three-bedroom apartment (actually the bottom-half of a 100-year old house) and I could generally get half of one room out of the tank before I needed a refill. This wasn''t too much of a problem, but I could see it getting annoying if you have a large house.

The suction power and cleaning was fantastic. Even though I didn''t think my carpets were that dirty, one look at the tanks showed I was wrong. Cat and dog hair, dirt and grime, it all got washed out and sucked up into the Bissell. Its kind if disgusting to think we were living with all that dirt for as long as we did. The cleaner is self-heating, and we used the solution that came with the deep cleaner which worked fine. We had a few (more than a few) stains in the carpet that came right out, and I was most impressed with the entryway. We live in Seattle, and several years of wet and muddy boots have permanently changed the carpet color there. Now it is back and matches the rest of the house! Just like the Rug Doctor, it took a few passes to get everything perfectly clean, and then it took awhile to dry out the carpet completely, but all in all the Bissell did a great job.

And aside from the looking better, the carpets and the whole house smell better. This is the "Pet" version of the cleaner, which means it comes with a "Pet Stain Eraser Tool" and the 8 oz. Pet 2X chemical and the Pet Stain & Odor 22 oz. I saw some longtime pet stains and smells disappear, which I am very pleased about.

This Lift-Off attachment was surprisingly easy to use. You just push a button to disconnect the hand-held unit, and you are off cleaning sofas, chairs, and anything else that needs a deep cleaning. This part is surprisingly handy, including for heading outside of the house. We cleaned the carpets and mats in our car, which worked great and is the cleanest they have been for years.

So the verdict for this is; aside from the birthing pains of putting it together, this is a great machine. It does everything it promises, and I am amazed at how beautiful our old apartment looks and smells.

I''ve had two carpet cleaners before this one, and all I can say is WOW! I ordered the pet model because I have a sheltie, and that means a lot of hair.

I was amazed the first time I used this in the living room. Even though I cleaned it not long ago with my old carpet cleaner, the amount of dirt and hair I was able to get out with this new one was amazing. It didn''t leave long strands of hair all over the room like my old Bissell did.

The best part is that it''s a portable cleaner too. You simply step on a pedal and the center part lifts right up, along with the hose and the power cord.

I waited a month to review it. I wanted to try several areas of the house, and I can honestly say I love everything about the Bissell Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner.

When this machine works, it does a fantastic job of general cleaning as well as spot removal. The spinning brushes really get deep into the carpet and take out a lot of old stains. Unlike other reviewers, I find that the size is quite adequate. Since I move slowly over the carpet to disburse a lot of solution, my 16 x 16 living room might take 3 tanks to complete, but it''s a simple process.

I typically use the machine once every 3 months or so. After about a year, it completely stopped releasing solution into the carpet and the spinner nozzle that is supposed to indicate an empty tank stopped spinning even on a full tank. I took it to a repair shop and had the belts replaced for about $30, and it worked again for a couple of uses, but the problem eventually happened again. When I searched for tips online, I found out that this is a common problem with these machines. The suction still works well and the spinning brushes are very effective, so I resorted to buying a cheap machine to distribute the solution and then switch to this one for the suction.

I regret having to leave a negative review because when it works, it really does a great job. However, I can''t see spending $200 every 1-2 years to replace a unit that fizzles after about 4 uses.

While we try to take utmost care of our carpets, it is just impossible to keep is spotless clean with a 3-yr old running around. For immediate carpet cleaning, our ready answer is always a handheld wet-dry portable vacuum which takes care of it immediately.

But to really achieve spotless cleaning an hygiene we needed something more powerful and detailed thats when we got the Bissell 73H5.

The cleaner is very easy to use and self heating watch out : some of the carpet cleaners, yes even the ones costing $100+ require you to put hot water in the cleaner.

I never used the lift off unit so I cannot comment it but I did try to lift it it is easy to lift off with the push of a button.

What is good:

* Very effective cleaner

* Built in Water heater

* Portable cleaner

* Hose Pipe to reach out to reach out to spots, edges, stairs and upholstry

What is not good:

* Water tank requires multiple refills a 15x20 room requires as much as 5 tank refills

* A bit heavy to move back and forth

Comparison between bissell 94Y2 and 73H5 : The 73H5 comes with a Pet Strain eraser tool, if you do not need this you can the 94Y2 is exactly the same cleaner minus the tool.

Clear2O CWS100A Water Filter System 72-Ounce Regular Pitcher Save 26% Off

Clear2O CWS100A Water Filter System 72-Ounce Regular Pitcher
  • Clear2O removes 5 times more contaminants than the leading pitcher filter
  • Quick-connect hose fills 9 glasses of water in 34 seconds
  • Sleek 72-ounce pitcher fits most refrigerator doors
  • Intelligent filter measures flow to indicate when new filter is needed
  • Removes 99 percent of lead and 54 other harmful substances, resulting in purer drinking water

This filter pitcher does make the water taste better. I am very happy with the result of the filtering. The pitcher design could be better. The spout cover doesn''t lock down and if you tip the pitcher forward, when picking it up from the fridge, for example, it will easily pour out the spout. The filling of the pitcher requires the use of an enclosed faucet connector. There are 2 adapters to make the connector work with your faucet. It screws on easily but I choose to remove it each time so I can reinstall the sprayer nozzle I have on my faucet. Even with the trouble of switching the connector out each time, I love the improvement in the water quality and flavor enough to not feel bothered. I hope the filter lasts through as many full-ups as they say it will.

I bought this after reading a lot of reviews and comparing vs Pur, Brita, Culligan, and others. The solid carbon block filtering is unique. The water filtered tastes fresh, but there is a hose length problem.

2) The hose is not long enough if you are using a standard sink. The hose will crimp.

In my case, I have a hans grohe kitchen faucet which will not allow a connection to the hose or the adapters supplied with it, so this is a problem.

I think overall this is a pretty good system. It filters better than the others. Just make sure that you have approximately 12" of height and about 5" of travel between the faucet head and the hose adapter.

I looked on their website hoping there was a hose extender or something, but nothing is available. Their website is a little sparse, which makes me wonder if I bought something very short term since the company has not been in business for very long.

For the people who say that it leaks, it does not. It "looks" like it leaks from the internal hose connector, but if you take it apart, it''s really the force of the water as it goes through the filter and it spirals down into the pitcher aerating it along the way.

Hope this helps and enjoy.

Want Clear2O CWS100A Water Filter System 72-Ounce Regular Pitcher Discount?

I just purchased this water filter pitcher today at a very discounted price at a chain discount store. I purchased two of the pitchers and 4 3-packs of replacement filters also at about 50% off retail. I washed all of the components and then struggled a little to get them to fit back together, but that''s typical for me. The top could fit a little more tightly. I held onto the top when I poured the water into a glass to make sure that the water didn''t spill all over. I unscrewed the aerator on our fancy kitchen faucet (with external screwthreads) and replaced it with the provided aerator and it fit perfectly even if it didn''t look as pretty! At first I wasn''t sure how to connect the hose so that it would be a snug fit, but I figured that out as well. The results were amazing a little bit of noise from the water pressure but not much (maybe that varies by unitcertainly not like other reviewers have noted). I drank a half a pitcher in no time, and thought since we haven''t had a water filter pitcher in many years how could I ever function with a slow-drip model? It''s best if you have a deep sink and hold on to the pitcher when you first start to fill it up so that it doesn''t tip. I think that the only drawback is that it does take up space in our refrigerator and I don''t know how to get around that. Some of the time it will have to stay on the counter, I guess. The other good thing is that it is so easy to just keep refilling the pitcher since it takes no time at all far less than five minutes to refill the pitcher, wipe off the end of the hose since it will drip some and put the pitcher back in the refrigerator or on the counter. The water tastes excellent, and is just what we needed since our well water has no chlorine, but still can have a slight off taste like sulphur and it has sand/sediment in it (visible in the sink aerator). I poured two glasses of water one from the tap and one from the water pitcher. The water from the pitcher was visibly cleaner looking crystal clear. I wasn''t drinking much water because it didn''t appeal to me. I am hoping that this makes water more like a beverage that I will choose to drink for its taste. I am also hoping that drinking more water will make dieting and healthy eating easier and raise my energy level.

Hope it works for you!

DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier Save 32% Off

DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier with Patented PumpThis DeLonghi DD45P Dehumidifier is so far advanced over other dehumidifiers I have owned over the past 15 to 20 years, it is like a newly invented appliance for 2010.

It''s the pump stupid! Why haven''t all dehumidifiers been designed with automatic pumps from the get-go? Did appliance designers think that a homeowner would gladly trade a dry basement for the chore of emptying a bucket of water every day?

The initial set-up was relatively easy after I read the instructions twice. The controls are understandable and fairly intuitive.

This is a smart dehumidifier compared to the older manual dumbbells I have owned. The display reads your room temperature. The unit can be set on auto, to run until it brings the humidity level in percent numbers down to a level you decide. It can be set to run for a selected time period or just run continuously at one of its two different speeds, high and not quite as high. It has delayed start and delayed stop if desired. If you choose to not pump the condensate to a nearby drain or out the window, don''t turn on the pump, and it will fill its built-in bucket instead. All this and energy star rated to boot.

The pump works well. The supplied condensate hose, which is 3/8" OD clear vinyl, runs up a corner wall in my basement about 8ft, then about 8ft more along the ceiling of my adjoining laundry room, and 4ft down into a laundry tub. I did have to add 8ft more hose to make the distance, but the pump handles it all very nicely. I bought this model for the pump and I consider this purchase as one of my better moves. It has been running 24/7 for about 6 weeks, and I just forget its there. My fingers are crossed.

The only negative features (in my opinion) are that the hose for the pump comes out the front of the unit near the base and the tiny wheels don''t lift the unit high enough up off the floor to run the condensate hose under the unit towards the back so its not so visible.

My current DeLonghi (40 pt) has gone on the fritz so I bought the newest model DD45P. The sensors on the old one (6 years old) have gone wacko, and the defroster (heater coil) seems constantly engaged, thereby pumping out super heated air... not good during the summer months here in the Northeast where 90 degrees+ has become the norm. The new DeLonghi arrived last week and has a more compact design than the old one, seems to be performing well, however, the 2 speed fan is problematic to me. DeLonghi should have stayed with the 3 speed fan as on the older models; that would REALLY have improved the "quiet" factor. Also the 24 hour timer feature is laughable... please, for this price, let me program more than one block of time. I love the pump, however, as an owner of a previous model who has taken the old one apart, be warned that what is growing inside the older unit has got to be unhealthy!!!! Yuk! If only replacement parts were made available at a reasonable price, my old one could be kept working! I need 2 for my large basement area, so I think I will be buying an additional one of a different brand to see if it performs any more efficiently and lasts longer!

Buy DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier Now

The unit itself works great, except...

When I was researching dehumidifiers, the description of the DD45P said it has a 24-hour timer. I was under the assumption that I could program it, for example, to run for 8 hours, stop for 8 hours, run for 8, stop for 8, etc. In other words once I programmed it would maintain that cycle continuously until I turned off or changed the timer. My previous LG dehumidifier worked that way; I could program a continuous cycle. But not the DD45P. The program works for just once cycle; you have to reprogram it at the end of the cycle if you want it on timer again. And that''s not the worst. You program it to start when the unit is in off mode; enter the number of hours after which you want the unit to turn on. However, to enter the number of hours after which you want it to turn off, you must wait until the unit turns on. You can only enter minimum increments of 1/2 hour for both on and off. So here''s the scenario: Go down to the basement (where most people keep their dehumidifier), program it to start in 1/2 hour, go back upstairs, go back downstairs 1/2 hour later to program the turn off time. Repeat this daily or multiple times during the day if that''s what you want. Of course you can run it without a timer; it then runs 24/7. But for energy-saving purposes a continuous timer would be nice.

The unit is very effective at removing moisture from the air. But the fan continues to run after the desired humidity is achieved. This in my mind is not very energy efficient. Also, the unit has a timer which you can only program the run time i.e. (turn the unit on. program the length of time you would like it to run and then it shuts off.It will not turn on again until you manually turn it on). I think a clock that you could program the on/off times would be a better feature.

Want DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier Discount?

Our old dehumidifier finally gave out and I selected this unit based on it''s features. It seems quite powerful and quickly reduces the humidity level however there were a few features that were not quite clear from the online documentation. The old dehumidifier would get down to the selected level of humidity and then shut off but come back on as needed whenever the humidity level rose. This unit will run the fan the entire time which I find to be noisy and a waste of electric. The only way around this is to use the timer function which allows you to set a the amount of time the unit will run (i.e. 2 hours). This doesn''t really seem ideal either since the humidity level could still be quite high when time runs out. Given the drawbacks, I still like the unit in that it really pulls out the humidity and I also like the pump feature which eliminates the need to manually empty the holding tank.

OSMO Liquid Wax Cleaner

OSMO Liquid Wax Cleaner - 1 Liter
  • For cleaning and maintaining oiled and waxed wood or cork floors and furniture
  • Both cleans and rejuvenates
  • Easy application, and very economical
  • Water-repellent, almost odorless, and benzene-free

I have walnut floors that were sealed with a natural oil, so they need to be occasionally waxed. Osmo liquid Wax Cleaner is fantastic! Note--a little goes a long way! Osmo lifts up any impregnated dirt (naturally finished floors still have pores and tend to capture dirt) and conditions wood beautifully. Leaves a matt finish. Virtually odor free--but still keep a window open when using, as even natural products don''t need to be inhaled.

It''s been four years, and I''m so happy with my choice!

The thing with OSMO is that it''s a matte finish. I like a little shine. I had read that the floors could be buffed, so I didby hand. Yuck. I tried this cleaner/wax and it didn''t really look much different after using, so I did a bit of experimenting. I tried using different pads to apply, and different buffing methods. I had good luck using very fine steel wool to buff it into the floor, then I used an auto buffer to shine the floors after the product was completely dry. This was very labor intensive, but looked good.

I finally got smart and purchased a $100 floor cleaner/buffer here on amazon. I use it along with this OSMO liquid wax cleaner. My floors look amazing. They have a nice satin sheen that repels liquids and looks great. I can go over the floors with just the buffer if I want to revive the shine. I recoat the floors once per year with the liquid wax cleaner, just to make sure that they stay protected. It''s super easy with the power buffer.

I''ll never have to refinish the entire floor again because there is nothing on them to wear off. They look as good, actually better than when they were first refinished, and I''m using a product that won''t make me or my family sick. I''m a total OSMO fan!

Brita Marina Complete Water Filtration Pitcher Save 16% Off

Brita Marina Water Filter Pitcher, WhiteI have been using Brita''s pitcher for 4-5 years and used three different types: Atlantis, slim and a classic. Initially the slim and classic had the same loose sprout problem that you would basically need two hands (one holding the lid, one holding the handle) in order to pour the water out without spilling it, the Atlantis worked flawlessly thanks to a snug-fit upper sprout (with water it would be very hard for the upper water container to fall out). Until recently I noticed that the slim pitcher had this carbon particle leaking into after filtration water problem. I''ve been following the Brita instruction for filter change since day one (immerse it in cold water for 15min and at least wait until the 3rd filtration to drink the water). Reason behind this instruction is simple, there might be loose carbon particles in the lower part of filter, so when you have water coming through it the carbon particles flow with it and stay in your filtered water compartment. However, after 2-3 filtration, the loose particles should be washed away already, and you should get clear water after that if the seal between your filter and the upper water compartment is tight. You''ll see the carbon particles floating in your upper water compartment (pre-filtered water), but those should not be leaking down to the filtered water container. I normally use a dark color mug and never even thought about this problem until one-day I started to use a white mug, I noticed my water had black particles. Tried with new filters, tried with cleaning the pitcher and mug, all failed, which lead me to think it''s the seal problem. Saw people complaining the same on Amazon reviews too, so it sounds like a design flaw.

Anyway, I started to look for upgrades. Thought about the Grand version as well as the space saver version, but they all had similar loose sprout complaints. I personally did not care about using two hands when pouring water, however, since my Atlantis worked out pretty well, it made no sense to get a different model with this problem. So far this Marina pitcher has best/consistent positive reviews as the Atlantis and Classic (which I knew work well), so I went with this one. Just got this package and got my filter prepared and water filtered. Everything worked as expected and I did notice several improvements in the design.

1. Brita apparently heard the loose sprout complaints, and this time, they used two small plastic hooks to snap upper compartment on to the lower container. The attachment is pretty tight, I tried a few times to see if I could get it off and clean the lower part for first usage, but did not want to risk breaking the hooks.

2. As one of the previous reviews said, the round bell shape of container did center the water weight better and I could pour the water out with one hand no problem, but I normally put my thumb on the lid just in case, so I can''t say if you only hold the handle and pour it, if the lid would fall out.

3. No carbon particles in my filtered water.

Enough for the pros, and here are a few cons that bring it to 4 star:

1. Unlike the Atlantis, the lid in this pitcher sits on the upper container pretty loosely. That''s why in my Pros #2, I said I used my thumb to press on it a little. But my feeling is, since the better centered geometry, it might not cause the spillage anyway.

2. the indicator is a nice plus, but the battery is non-replaceable and lasts for only 5 years according to the manual.

3. The handle is a empty tube type of deal with an open top, the bottom is not completely sealed nor open, so if you overfill the water or you faucet water goes sideways into the handle, it would slowly leaked out from the bottom of that handle onto your table or counter.

Overall, it looks like a good upgrade.

I have been a BRITA owner for years and I love the new sleek design of the BRITA Marina pitcher. I would highly recommend purchasing this product. At last a pitcher you can pour from while water is still filtering without any spillage of unfiltered to filtered water...yay

FYI : this product is the same as the Brita Marina Complete Water Filtration Pitcher except that this is the black version.

I have not purchased a Brita pitcher in many years, but it seems like they''ve really stepped up the quality with this new design. I love the sleek, modern look. I also love that it is still the same easy "fill-er-up" pitcher I remember. The light indicating whether the filter is still good is a great addition as well. The only very small drawbacks are that the handle is not closed at the top, so there is a possiblility of getting water in there, and the lid flap does not lock in place (inconsequential as far as I can tell). Also, the battery/bulb for the filter indicator are not able to be replaced, so when they go out in 5 years, that''s it.

This product comes with the pitcher and one regular Brita filter. Because I know I can trust their filters, I am glad Brita has come out with an alternative to the classic white, boxy pitchers they started with.

We were fed up with our last Brita pitcher. But we gave this one a try. Love everything that they fixed from the older generations.

I was on the fence about purchasing this product after reading all the bad reviews about the lid not fitting tightly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this

Brita has no issues with the lid what so ever. Maybe Brita improved the design, I dont know, but I am completely happy with my purchase.

Braun Cafehouse KF520 Coffee Maker Machine

Braun Cafehouse KF520 Coffee Maker MachineWe have had this coffee maker for several years, not sure about the voltage (we live in the US). The filter system makes really good tasting coffee at a fairly fast rate. I''ve tried other coffee makers as ours is starting to look a little worn, we haven''t found anything yet that comes close.

I bought this coffee maker for use in a 220 volt country (Germany and again in Africa) it was great! ) I love Braun products, You MUST note the wording NOT FOR USE IN AMERICA clearly stated. It comes with a different plug and voltage usage for overseas use.

I ordered this for my parents when my dad was in the hopital.I was under a lot of stress as he had a heart attack. Apparently I did not see it was not for use in U.S.A.When I tried to return it, Sam the rep I was trying to work with was not helpful. He also kept referring to me as Mr. when I was Clearly femaleCaren . He was aggravating and wanted to charge a re-stocking fee on top of me sending it back to get an American ready coffee maker. By then I would have paid for it twice.

I choose to get another coffee maker from a more reputable company. DON''T do business here . They aren''t helpful

I buy off Amazon often ,but this is the first bad experience I''ve had in years

  • 3 Stage Filter removes 99.99% microbial cysts, cryptosporidium and giardia

I''ve been using this for a few months now and really like it. I did a ton of research before purchasing and determined this was the best one to purchase without spending a fortune.

I''ve really liked the quick release and it seems to do a great job. Not really any taste to the water that I can tell. From the contaminants it gets rid of, it''s much better than most of the cheaper products out there. I have worked in the environmental industry for many years, including water and soil remediation of contamination. After many years, I know a lot about contaminants and what''s right for your health. This isn''t ideal, but probably one of the best ones for filtering enough contaminants and being a little more eco-friendly in the process (they''re practices and replacement filters seem to be better than most).

It looks good and works good, no problems or complaints whatsoever. I may update this after I''ve gotten to the time I need to change filters.

AND, the installation was so simple a CAT could do it while it was drinking from the faucet!

I was surprised by how light and flimsy the filter is compared to the Brita faucet filter that I had for years. The filter change light didn''t work, and the filter started leaking after only a few days. It''s a slow leak, so I kept the filter because I didn''t want to go through the hassle of exchanging it for another one. I have it on my calendar to change the filter every 3 months. When the leak gets too bad, I''ll try another faucet filter.

LOVE IT, THE WATER TASTES GREAT AFTER BEING RUN THRU THE FILTER. I DON''T BUY BOTTLED WATER ANYMORE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

This Pur Water Filtration System is simply wonderful! I have used Pur for over 20 years, and this version is so much easier to install and use, and the water tastes great. I will continue to use Pur permanently!

It doesn''t say so on the packaging itself, but these are by the brand DuPont, and DuPont is the only brand I know of that removes fluoride

PT350 is our pitcher and the instructions for the filter mentions our pitcher.. WFPTC100 is the filter and it''s one of the two that are recommended for our pitcher.

I trust this product in removing the fluoride from our tap water. I''m glad I bought 3 packs of this stuff. They are hard to find here (Ohio) and I''m definitely going to buy more once I run out of them.

American Plumber WRC25HD Whole House Heavy Duty Filter Cartridge

American Plumber WRC25HD Whole House Heavy Duty Filter CartridgeI''ve found this OEM filter to be the best value and have the best filtration with the min of water pressure loss. I''ve used this filter now for 6 years and will not go to the other non-OEM filters again

This water filter worked really well for about a month before it filled up with sediment, do not use this with a system to filter out sediment unless you want to empty it out/replace it frequently.

The inside is what you''d expect, a little less than an inch in diameter and does a great job of filtering out any odd tastes...the water tasted great.

GE FXMLH Faucet Filter Replacement Cartridge Save 18% Off

GE FXMLH Faucet Filter Replacement CartridgeI purchased the original GE Housing Unit (attaches to faucet) at a big box store. It came complete w/first filter. I now order my replacement filters at Amazon.com. It''s more convenient than going to the store(s), and the prices are store comparable. The (positive) difference in the water taste is absolutlely remarkable. They can brag, and rightfully so, about all the unwanted contaminants the GE filter reduces. So be it. ALL I KNOW IS, I WANTED GOOD TASTING WATER!!! Now I Have It. My faucet filter operates exactly as it was designed to do. Easy operation. Simply turn "chrome" dome to desired water mode. The faucet will automatically return to TAP WATER mode when faucet is turned off. Great Feature. You won''t have to watch your precious filtered water go down the drain when Uncle Earl finally decides to wash his hands. It comes w/a replaceable cell battery which operates the "THE THREE LITTLE LIGHTS". I find only one of these lights useful. THE AMBER LIGHT lets you know when the filter OR the battery needs replaceing. No hard guessing. The battery will outlast the filter. The filter slows to a trickle when replacement is needed. You might want to jot down on a calendar the dates of filter replacements. This will give you a ballpark figure on YOUR filters longevity. I am the sole user of mine. It lasts me about three and a half to four months. Oh, about those 2 "other" lights. They let me "know" when I''m on Spray mode or Filtered Water. I can SEE when the water is spraying! I know when I turn on the Water Filter. (A slower pour occurs). BUT HEY, those 3 little lights make for good conversation when guests arrive!! Hope this helps. rbrowncloud

I am sure the filter was probably OK, but the faucet we have does not work that well. We may have to get a new faucet -or perhaps a different filter that will fit well.

I like this faucet filter very much and have been using it for several years. It really changes the taste of our tap water, and it becomes wonderful. The price is I think reasonable as well, comparing to other products.

Hario Water Dripper ''POTA'' Bronze

Hario Water Dripper ''POTA'' BronzeI dislike the lack of stability in this design, and I won''t even address that it''s too expensive for what you get.

Because it doesn''t screw together the components don''t stay seated, when it inevitably gets knocked over in the refrigerator. Even moving it around needs to be done with "kid gloves". The lid is worthless, as it only adds height and doesn''t stay on. I replaced it with the bottom of my nut grinder.

Would I buy it again? No, there are too many other ways to make cool brew coffee at a fraction of the cost.

An update: Last week, 1st week of Dec 2011, the top fell off and broken into a dozen pieces. With that break I discovered the top globe was just snugly placed inside a rubberish base. Considering this break, this extremely expensive coffee pot is worthless, so in the end it was a bad purchase of an unstable unit. The manufacturer needs to totally rethink the design for stability improvements.

Further update: I''ve discovered I can place a permanent coffee filter like http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Coffee-GTF2-1-Basket-Style-Permanent/dp/B0000CFQJS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1348389652&sr=8-5&keywords=Coffee+filters

with a #4 paper filter filled with coffee grounds into any bowl shaped container with a matching opening, filled with water, refrigerated for 8-hours to overnight and have a pot of cold brew! The coffee to water mix would be the same as a standard hot brewed ratio.

CRYSTAL QUEST® Whole House Triple 20" x 5.0" Water Filter System

CRYSTAL QUEST® Whole House Triple 20'' x 5.0'' Water Filter SystemI got this a few weeks ago. At first I was very displeased as the water tasted funny. I had to use a britta to drink my pure water. Butttt after a couple of weeks the bad taste was gone. so now I do have clean clean water. I did loose some water pressure but if you saw my unfiltered water you would say it was a good swap.

We have the unit installed while we built our cabin. We also bought ultraviolet sterlizer 6 GPM from Health Faucet Services. We only have to replace the UV lamp once a year. We''re very happy with the water quality delivered.
