Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Save 55% Off

Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black/Brushed MetalI''ve had the Cuisinart DCC-1200 for about a week now. I was hesitant to spend so much on a coffee maker but I''m happy to report it''s well worth it. Sure, you can get other brands of coffee makers for under $25 if economy is the most important feature, but I''ve had those machines and I decided that, this time, a good cup of coffee was most important for me. This unit makes the best coffee I''ve had in a home or office machine and better than most coffee I''ve had in restaurants.

This coffee tastes smooooooth! I suspect the charcoal water filter is the reason for that. I also like the "shower head" design of the water spout. The water actually runs up a track onto the underside of the lid and is sprinkled over the ground coffee like a rain shower.

It''s an attractive unit but it also looks like a serious coffee maker. This unit is no toy. It looks and feels solid. The carafe has a good solid feel and balance. The plastic parts (like the plastic carafe lid and handle) feel like good heavyweight plastic and are well molded. It''s not the lightweight crappy plastic that cracks and discolors easily in the cheap coffee makers.

I like the 5 beeps when the coffee is ready. Now I can leave the kitchen and go clean or whatever and I don''t have to keep running back to see if I can get a cup yet. I can hear the beeps. But if I really can''t wait and want a cup in mid-brew, I can just remove the pot and pour a cup you''ve got a full 30 seconds to reinsert the pot, before you risk an overflowing filter.

I like the permanent gold-tone filter too. I always thought paper filters were a pain. They''d fold over sometimes and there''d be grounds in my coffee. But you can use paper filters in this machine if you want to. I just prefer the convenience of the gold-tone filter (top rack machine washable too).

It has an indicator light for cleaning -it says it''s "self-cleaning" but really it''s just a light telling you when you need to pour in a pot of water/vinegar and run it through to decalcify the unit. (I never thought to do that with my other units. Probably another reason my coffee wasn''t as good as I wanted it to be.)

The low-medium-high setting on the hot plate is pretty nice too. And the auto-shutoff feature is great. I don''t have to worry about forgetting to turn the machine off.

The instruction booklet is very good and very thorough. Comes with a parts reordering form too.

What don''t I like about this machine? It requires maintenance in that you have to change the charcoal filters. But actually I don''t mind since I think they are the reason the coffee tastes so smooth, and they are very easy to change and not expensive

Also, the area in the top of the machine where you pour in the water is narrow but again this is just a minor inconvenience. Just have to pour a little carefully.

So really it''s almost all positives with a couple of very minor negatives. I highly recommend this coffee maker.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) When my Braun FlavorSelect coffee maker unexpectedly stopped working, I had to scramble to find a new machine. I wanted another Braun, but unfortunately, they seem to have stopped making a 12 cup coffee maker. So I had to begin an intense search for a machine that had the features I wanted combined with good value. I finally found it with this Cuisinart model.

The advantages? For one, it makes excellent and HOT coffee. The carafe is solidly constructed and fits securely in square body so there''s no chance of someone accidentally knocking it loose. Because the lid fits tightly, the pour is precisely narrow and smooth, with no side leaks even when the pot is full. The basket fits inside the housing instead of swinging free like so many models which prevents a misalignment between the water and the filter; the conical (Krups/Braun style) basket accepts both paper filters and gold-tone, although I learned the hard way that not all gold filters fit. The timer is very easy to program, as is the clock. The carafe warmer can be set at low, medium, or high for the temperature that''s right for you. I found the "high" setting too hot since I drink my coffee black (I like my coffee hot but not scalding!), but those who add a lot of milk might appreciate it. The brewing is quick and efficient, with the process taking about a minute a cup, maybe less. The retro/stainless look complements most modern kitchen décors. There''s a 1-4 cup setting to make sure such small amounts stay hot, and you can select how long the warmer remains on. The pot beeps five times when brewing is complete and just before the warming plate shuts off. Parts are top rack dishwasher safe. It comes with a water filter system designed to improve the taste of the brew.

But the Cuisinart does have disadvantages. The water reservoir is located on the right side, in the back, which makes it a little challenging for lefties like me to dump the final bit of water inside even though the carafe pours very accurately. Although I haven''t yet missed the opening, I do struggle briefly with those last few drops unless I use my right hand. The housing is fairly tall, so if your counter space is only under the cabinets, you may not be able to lift the top in its entirety. (This is when the small rear reservoir becomes a major issue as you have to have room to completely lift the rather large top toward the back.) Clearance required: 7.5" wide by 8.5" deep of counter space with no overhead obstruction to pull out for filling OR 21.5" of overhead space to fully lift top. Without the top open, the coffee maker measures 7.5"w x 8.5"d x 14.25"h.

If you have the space for this coffee maker, you''ll love it. I can''t attest to how long it will last, but, as it comes with a three year warranty, I''m hoping for a good run.

Buy Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Now

Two weeks ago, I needed a new coffee maker. The Krups Aroma Control maker is in all the stores and catalogs, so I bought one in the local mall BEFORE reading the Amazon reviews. BIG MISTAKE. Lesson learned read the reviews many negative comments. I used it for 3 days, and readily understood the description (...) of "eye candy" (looks nice, but seems like cheap plastic) and weak coffee (what they describe as a feature allowing the coffee to steep is really a euphemism for a poorly designed system that is guaranteed to give you a weak cup of coffee). One redeeming feature the carafe is very nice.

Within 2 days of having the Krups, i was on Amazon looking for a replacement coffee maker (a good cup of coffee is critical in the morning!). I went out on the risk curve and ordered the new Cuisinart no reviews yet. The Cuisinart has a more classic brewing system (water goes through grinds via gravity), yields a delicious cup of HOT coffee, has a variable temperature hot place, and looks and feels solid. We happen to have stainless steel appliances (refrigerator, freezer, stove), and it matches beautifully. Best news excellent coffee!. I would highly recommend the Cuisinart.

Folks, this is one excellent coffee maker. I read the comments here and decided to get it even though some had complained of spillage when lifting the lid and also the coffee not being hot enough. Well I can tell you that when I lift the lid on mine, the water rolls to the back and then drips back into the machine on a nifty little lip attached to the back of the machine. It appears that Cuisinart has engineered a solution for the complaints of spilled water that some reviewers mention. Also, the coffee coming out of the carafe of my machine has steam drifting off of it, so it is plenty hot, another complaint that seems to have been remedied. There were also a couple of complaints about finger prints on the stainless and the small LED clock being hard to read, but let''s be for real, all brushed stainless appliances will fingerprint and this is a very stylish coffee maker, not a kitchen clock(that''s what your microwave is for! (wink)). Actually I think the Cuisinart guys intended the clock for autoprogramming functions and made it LED to match the stainless on the machine. And if you don''t like the water filter, you don''t have to use it. It is a nicety and can be readily found if you search the net for "dcc1200 water filter".

Enough defending complaints though. This machine makes superb coffee. It has the best carafe I have ever used(it will not spill a drop and it has a built-in plastic rim to keep you from busting it on the sink). It comes with a gold metal filter. Buy it and you will like it. And if for some strange reason you don''t, then take it back. All jabs aside, this is an outstanding machine in form as well as function, and the people at Cuisinart obviously care what their customers think of their products. That means alot to me. How about you???

Want Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Discount?

I recently decided that it was time to buy a new coffeemaker and wanted the BEST! I did my research thoroughly, online and by word-of-mouth, and decided on Cuisinart''s DCC-1200 12-Cup Brew Central Coffeemaker. This terrific gadget arrived a week ago and I am thrilled with it.

I love my coffee and usually make time to have at least one, if not two, 12 oz. mugs of freshly brewed java before I leave the house in the AM. Although this is a 12 cup coffeemaker, the settings are geared for a 5 oz. cup. So, for those of you who think a 12 cup machine is too much, this factor should be considered. Coffee is 98% water and if the quality of water used is not good, your final result won''t be either. Cuisinart''s DCC-1200 has a charcoal water filter that removes chlorine, calcium, bad tastes and odors. The self-cleaning feature is terrific and a warning light will flash to notify when calcium buildup is interfering with the machine''s functioning mechanism. Programming for delayed brew time is a snap with the LCD digital clock. One of the features I like best is the heater plate control knob. I like my coffee steaming hot and this feature assures that I can control the temperature of the nonstick heating plate. The machine also looks great on my kitchen counter.

I had thought about buying a combination coffeemaker/coffee grinder and decided against it. Apparently, many combination machines leave a sludgy residue and are a hassle to clean. I preferred using my own grinder, which is easy to clean, and this coffee maker also very easy to clean and maintain. This machine is a coffee lover''s dream!!

I bought the BEST! Very highly recommended!!

EcoloBlue 30 Water Cooler

EcoloBlue 30 Water Cooler - Atmospheric Water GeneratorI have the EcoloBlue 30. I thought the manual was good with a few omissions. The manual has photos of all the maintenance procedures that need to be preformed every 6 months to a year. You need to read the manual before you even think about plugging in the unit. This is not an unpack and plug-in device. I had to fill the bottom tank five times to prime the EcoloBlue 30 for it to get going. I called technical support and did get though directly 3 of the 5 times. I called so many times because I was not sure what was occurring was normal. They give you 30 days to return the unit if you are not satisfied. The shipping weight is 132 pounds. You do have an option to connect a water line to the unit that is filtered rather than using the dehumidifying circuit to produce water (a winter, low humidity option). You do have an option to turn heating and cooling of the water on/off. When the unit is either cooling the water (top tank) or in dehumidifying mode it has a fan that moves a lot of air. The unit produces noise when in operation and is much noisier than your typical refrigerator. You cannot put this unit in a small room because it will suck all the humidity out of the air in short order. The 30 system seems to be well designed but very complex. I wonder how reliable the unit will be over the long haul. The water tastes great either hot or cold. In the 6 months of using the system I did not have any mold or bad water smell issues. Beats carrying 42 pound 5 gallon water bottles.

Some concerns:

The minimum Relative Humidity should be 40% not 35% (readout of RH on blue LCD) as stated in the manual. Anything less than 40% does not produce any meaningful water amounts. Their charts for RH and water production are off by a decimal point at least. The manual on page 5 even states that it operates best at a RH of 50%. I can verify this, at 50% the system 30 does make water at an acceptable rate. The low humidity solution would be to use the external (tap water) connection on the back of the 30 to supply water. As stated previously this unit moves a lot of air, there is a noise issue. Maintenance, you need to monitor and clean the system 30 at regular intervals described in the manual. A new filter set will cost you $79. In fairness all water treatment systems need maintenance, the system 30 a little more than others.

Like Jack, I got the idea from the Alex Jones show.

Gripe number 1:

-I ordered it in early July......and didn''t receive it until EARLY SEPTEMBER!

Gripe #2:

-So I finally get it hooked up and ready to go after letting it sit for 24 hours (part of the setup instruction) and what happens? A leak! One of the 90 elbows on the filters in the front was cracked. I fix that and wait 3 days as it fills for the first time.

Gripe#3

Another leak! This time it was the back side top of the T piece where water is dispensed. I call customer service and they tell me that this is a multi use piece.........they make soda machines too and they use the same connector pieces. I assume they save money by using the same parts, but where is QC? So they are now send me out a plug for that gaping design flaw. At this point I''m on the verge of returning it......

Gripe #4 (the last straw):

After two and one half weeks of trouble it still takes over 3 days to produce a full tank. I have drained it 3 and a half times in between fixing leaks and I still get tons of mold floating in the water. I''m done.

In short.....I love the idea.....but it seems to be years away on the affordable side.

UPDATE: It is December 7 2011 and I still have no sign of a refund. I returned it on 11 October 2011.

We bought the water generator after hearing about it advertised on the Alex Jones Radio Show. It worked for just under two years then started leaking big time. The reality is these are cheaply made products slapped together in China. The concept is great but the reality is not good. The company is also throwing out a lot of fake positive reviews which is always a bad sign.

I don''t normally write reviews but due to the high cost of this item and the lack of a lot of reviews I thought I would add my experience. I bought the EcoloBlue 30 unit a month ago after doing a lot of online research about the product. I seen a couple of negative reviews on Amazon and was a little afraid to make the purchase. It appeared to me the negatives were isolated and circumstantial events so I took the chance and placed the order. I''m glad I did.

The unit arrived well packaged and within a couple weeks. All parts were present and no damage noted. I moved the unit to a central location in my house and let it sit the required 24 hours. While it was setting I assembled and cleaned the unit as the instructions stated. It was very simple, installation of the RO filter and a wipe down of the collector and bottom tank. The instructions, while adequate, could be improved. They read as if they are a foreign translation to english. On one page it says to hit the SET button to select other options and to use the MODE button to change settings. Wrong, the other way around. All I can say is that if it doesn''t make sense then figure it to be a misprint and use common sense. But these were minor and relatively few mistakes.

Yes, as one reviewer said it does take a lot of filling the bottom collector before you see any progress in the top tank level indicator. I too was becoming concerned until I opened the top and looked at the top tank itself. The bottom tank is considerable smaller than the top tank as the top is your main storage and the bottom is your condensation collector. Made sense to me, plus, remember that all your filters and lines are empty and those need filled as well. It took about 2 gallons of water in the bottom to get a level of 3 on the top indicator the first time. This first batch is to flush the system and you drain it as per the instructions.

Once the initial drain is complete you let the system run to make a full batch of water and drain that out as well. I did taste the first batch and it had a plastic taste, kind of like the way water taste when you drink from a water hose. I was concerned how long that would take to dissipate. Not long as it turned out. The first recommended batch of water after all the required drains was very good indeed. I did not sanitize the system initially with Hydrogen Peroxide as some have done because the instructions do not require it. I''m pleased with my results so far.

On to daily operation. Yes, it is noisy. This thing moves a lot of air. It''s about as noisy as a small oscillating fan. Not unpleasant or irritating but noticeable. It doesn''t bother me and no one has complained about it yet, but it isn''t quiet so just beware of that and decide accordingly. Currently we are experiencing high 90''s and plus 60% humidity. Very muggy. After plugging in the unit I noticed a very nice side benefit of using it. Within a few hours of running my RH dropped from 61% to 55%. I huge difference in how comfortable it felt in the house. I am averaging around 50 to 51% RH with the machine running. That is aprox 10 to 11% drop in RH throughout the day. The instructions said it may take up to 72 hours to fill the top tank. I filled it in 25 hours and have been able to raise the thermostat a couple degrees since it now feels about the same as it used to without the humidity. My RH percentages (RH=Relative Humidity) were varified by an independent hygrometer located 10 feet from the unit itself. The unit RH reading and the Hygrometer have always been within 1 or 2% of each other throughout the day. So, in summary, I have clean, fresh drinking water, 3 gallons a day, and a 10 to 11% drop in the RH throughout the house. (My house is 1700sq ft.) I can see why they warn you about not operating this in too small a location as it really would literally suck all the water from the air. My wife has noticed that the house plants need a little more watering now than they used to as well. In fact, I now keep the central fan running to circulate the dryer air because when I don''t the room with the AWG drops in RH but the rest of the house doesn''t.

I have had NO problems with setting it up, operating it, or maintaining it. Granted I haven''t had it that long but I am none-the-less very happy with my purchase. I use the water to make my morning coffee and have, for the first time, discovered what coffee taste like without chlorine and flouride, and I like it! It is my opinion that this is was a good purchase. Sure, it has plastic parts in many places, but so does my car unfortunately. The parts appear to be common plastic and I''m sure I could find cheap parts locally if I needed to. But overall I think it''s well built. Would I but another one? Yes. Would I recommend it to another family member? Yes. I am happy with my purchase. The cons are few and the pros are many so I give this a 5 star rating.

Want EcoloBlue 30 Water Cooler Discount?

I have owned the EcoloBlue Model 30 for two years. It does what it is advertised to do. It makes very clean water from the air. This is what I want in the event of a natural or manmade disaster. I don''t want to be dependent on a public water supply as they often become unreliable when emergency strikes. I run this atmospheric water generator a couple of days a week to keep it "emergency ready". If standard wall outlet power becomes unavailable, it will continue to make water from the air because I have it plugged into a solar battery backup unit. It''s built-in 12 stage reverse osmosis filtration system produces very clean water. For proper operation of this emergency appliance, read the instruction manual before plugging it in. This is not a plug-and-play appliance. Once unpacked, set it in place for 24 hours before plugging it in, to give enough time for the compressor fluid to settle. If you decide to move it to a different location, you''re disturbing the compressor fluid so wait another 24 hours to allow the compressor fluid to settle. This is why reading the manual is strongly recommended before plugging it in. Treat this important appliance with the TLC it deserves. Although it is advertised to make water when the relative humidity is above 35%, I have found it works best when the relative humidity is 45% or above. The EcoloBlue Model 30 is much more than a "water cooler". I consider it a way for people to make their own water, in the event of natural or manmade emergency. We all need to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others, especially during times of crisis.

Gaggia 12300 Baby Class Manual Espresso Machine Save 40% Off

Gaggia 12300 Baby Class Manual Espresso Machine, Brushed Stainless SteelWe got the Gaggia Baby Class 12300 over the weekend. I must confess that I purchased it not here at amazon (although I am an amazon shopper for life, I think). Firstly, the built of this machine is by far superior than my first esp machine, breville cafe roma which I had to dispatch with a heavy heart, because it was a good (cremaaaaa!!!) espresso machine. I also have a Delonghi 702, which got great reviews, but I cannot get good crema from it, so it''s going back. Stainless steel casing, the cash basin is cast iron, and the filter weighs about a pound.

After carefully reading the manual,(I rarely do with other new "toys"), using this machine is easy to use. I always "prime" the machine as instructed by running it without the filter attached until the cup is filled with just water.

I usually use a clear mug/cup to see the beautiful crema that comes out.

The frother: one of the reviewers that I read was mildly complaining about it falling off. If you read the section on how to clean it and put it back it should not happen anymore. Tip: youtube has videos from casualfilm that shows you how to prime, make capuccino, clean, the machine.

Cappuccino: Wow! that''s all I can say... first you make your espresso, and by the time you put your milk (stright from the fridge) the machine has warmed up already that it only takes a few seconds to heat up the milk and create a great frothing.

I have nothing but praises for this machine!!! I will try to update in about a month....

You pay for what you get. The Gaggia is pricey BUT it is worth the price for a great cup of espresso. We have previously owned two much cheaper models by other manufactures and they never produced a great cup of espresso. The Baby Gaggia is extremely easy to operate and contains all quality parts, most importantly it produces a world class cup of espresso or cappuccino. It is a great reminder of vacations to Italy.

I had a Gaggia Classic for years, which gave one consistently great shot after another. I upgraded to the Gaggia Baby Class, and after 7 months I have given up. It has gone back for service twice, and each time came back not working properly. When I complained, I was told the problem was a "new" problem, and even though it was still under warranty, I would have to pay shipping ($50.00).

My new Baby Class is inconsistent and pours great shots alternating with shots I have to throw away. Service from Whole Latte Love/Importika has deteriorated since I had my first Gaggia machine. I have finally given up and gotten rid of this machine and purchased a new one, a different brand from a different vendor.

Very disappointing.

This is a great looking machine and functions very well. It takes some time to get the crema right but it when it works properly, it''s excellent.

However, after using it regularly for four weeks, it seems the filter becomes very clogged very quickly and has to be cleaned often. The holes seem quite small and the water accumulates in the awkward catch tray quite often. It''s frustrating because water also accumulates under the machine. Lots of cleaning involved. Didn''t happen on our old Saeco. Suppose it could be the grind but its been the same used from day one. At this point, I would not rank it over 4 stars.

About a year ago I upgraded from the Gaggia Coffee to this machine, the Gaggia Baby Class, which, among other things, has a third solenoid value -the main reason for my upgrade. Although the Gaggia Coffee is a great machine that I won''t part with, the Gaggia Baby Class is indeed an upgrade. First, I should note that I have my Gaggia paired with a Gaggia MDF grinder and I roast my own beans. The Gaggia Baby Class is refined and well designed. It''s much quieter than my Gaggia Coffee and doesn''t drip from the portafilter while sitting idle. Although not perfect, third solenoid works pretty well in producing a dry puck. With my Gaggia Coffee, after I pulled a shot I''d have to leave the portafilter in the machine for about four to five minutes to drip dry the puck...so the third solenoid definately saves time in the mornings. The Gaggia Baby Class produces textbook timed shots every time. (I weigh out 15 to 16 grams of fresh coffee, with my grinder set at #3). I''m not a straight-up espresso drinker myself, but I can certainly recognize a bad shot. Here, the Gaggia doesn''t dissapoint. Visually the Gaggia is a beautiful machine. The stainless steel is attractive. I never get tired of admiring the machine on my counter. The drip tray is fairly deep and easily pulls out for cleaning. The buttons are adequate. The on/off button is behind the machine, which is a little odd. The other buttons work fine but don''t light up very brightly. The water container holds quite a bit and pulls out easily and appears to contain a little microfilter. I don''t use the steam wand, so I apologize for my lack of insight here (I used a Frabosk stovetop frother -works great.) Gaggia''s aren''t known for steaming ability due to the small boiler. You get what you pay for and the Gaggia fills that void between the Miss Silvia and the lesser machines below. I didn''t go with the Miss Silvia due to price and its reputation for being less-than-user-friendly machine. I would highly recommend the Gaggia Baby Class (and at least a Gaggia MDF grinder to go with it).

Pro Shot Industrial Re-Newing Floor Restorer Save 10% Off

Pro Shot Industrial Re-Newing Floor Restorer, 32-OuncesI have used this for years and like it enough to keep re-ordering. The only caveat I might offer is that if you wipe up a spill, etc, sometimes you can see the area where you wiped it will be distinct from the shine on the rest of the floor. I have tried blending it in to no avail. I also have to disagree with others who say it "fills in" scarring & scratches. I guess technically it does but I can still see the scratches in my floors (caused by big dogs). Makes a great shiny floor that is easily applied and does disguise them a bit from that aspect but don''t get too excited about it''s ability to hide a lot. We will eventually have to sand these floors but this product does better than any others we have found to make them look nice in the interim.

I first bought this item years ago on a home shopping channel, thinking I would give it a shot, ready to return it if it did not do an outstanding job well beyond the typical store bought wax/shine product, & I am so happy I did!

I live in a pre-war apartment building with hardwood floors. When I moved in I did poly-urethane most of the rooms'' wood floors to renew the high shine, except for the bedroom dark stained and varnished floor. The varnish coat had worn away and whenever I mopped I brought up alot of the dark wlanut stain each time and wanted something to coat the wood floor with the best shine but of course not a waxy residue build up and not a slippery surface as a result. This product is amazing!!!

It not only delivered exactly what I wanted on the bedroom wood floor a beautiful high shine, a coating to protect the floor afterwards when I did a quick wet mop more often in between Pro shot applications, to remove dust its also so shiny but non slippery too. With such great results I also used it on all my other varnished floors that now after years of use, lost there original shine and could always use a boost after mopping, as well as my lino tiles kitchen floor and all look so beautiful afterwards, and as the product claims, it does last far longer than any other floor shine product I have purchased from a store.

Also, unlike some of the shine products made for kitchen lino floors, which when you spill water afterwards you get horrible spotting, with this product, there isnt that gross build up nor spotting when it gets wet afterwards.

After my first experience with this item, I have now continued to order it for the past few years, missing it when it runs out.

I highly recommend taking the chance on this higher priced product to see for yourself! Its worth the investment because you will not need to apply it as often as you would a regular floor shine wax product & you will see you will not deal with the build up mess that comes after a few applications of the nromal wax shine products out there, or slip worry of them either. And the shine left behind terrific!

It truly is fantastic!

I have been using Pro Shot for the last 5 years on my ceramic floors and counters. It leaves an unbelievable shine. My tile had a very dull finish and this just makes it glow. My neighbors always ask me about it. It lasts approximately 6 months, but I live alone. You won''t be sorry. I have never had a bad experience with it.

Pro Shot does the job on wood floors that are not worn out. I got a shine with one coat on that area of the living room that has no wear and tear after 10 years without a professional job. But the worn-out parts, including a black patina over the light wood floor, yields virtually no shine. The product is five times as expensive as mop ''n'' glo but does only a marginally better job.

Want Pro Shot Industrial Re-Newing Floor Restorer Discount?

I was hoping for a miracle from Pro Shot. My laminate floor is only 5 years old, and I have 1000 sq ft of it, so there is no way I would think of replacing it yet. I have a 3x3 ft square that is soooo scratched from my old computer chair that I never thought it could be saved. The whole floor is so dull from my cleaner''s build-up, I thought nothing could give it life again. But I sit here just amazed! I can barely see the damaged section under the chair and the overall shine is remarkable!!!! It was very easy to do and left virtually no streaks though I can definitly see spots that I missed!!!

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION THOUGH!!! It tells you on the back to apply to clean dry floor. BE SURE to get everything off the floor! I have found a number of black dog hairs (another factor in my scratched up floor) basically glued to my floor!!!

Not a product defect, just something to be aware of: If it is on your floor when you apply this product, it will remain there until you scrape it up, or wear it off.

Overall, I love the product, hopefully the shine lasts a long time! When it is dull again, I will definitely use it again.

Bath Ball Water Faucet Filter

Bath Ball Water Faucet FilterI am glad that I purchased this filter, as my grandson needed to have bath water without the chlorine. It also helps to make the water smell better.

That said, I cannot believe that I spent $65.00 on a plastic ball with the most ridiculous excuse for a "handle" that I can imagine. I did my homewrk. Most all of the bath tub filters are made the same. The shower filters are great--just plug them inline with the water and call it a day, but the bath tub filter has a cheeesey platice tubing handle that will NOT stay on the faucet no matter what you do on it''s own. My daughter and I rigged up several hair ties and constructed our own cheesey handle, also had to use a "tubbie toy" to keep it away from the tub wall or the water would just flow right past it.

All in all, I guess no one is smart enough to make a filter that will actually work the way it is supposed to. I wish I could find something that works without all of the dinking around. Plus I feel robbed of a lot of money for a plastic ball with a cheap handle. (oh yea, my grandson thinks it is a toy so we have to fight over it to have him leave it alone and not want to throw it somewhere) A filter that you could attach to the end of the faucet with some kind of heavy duty rubber connection would do the trick. Maybe I will figure it out and make a fortune outselling this one.

Our water has some pretty intense chlorine--the filtration plant says it''s 1ppm, which I suppose is average for city water supplies but it doesn''t make for a pleasant drinking/showering/bathing experience. We''ve run whole house carbon filters for years but they wear out really quickly and we don''t always get around to replacing them on time. I bought the bath ball for an 80 gallon bathtub that''s used on a daily basis in the winter--it''s sort of a stand-in for a hot tub and our family is super addicted to it! I really needed something to reduce the chlorine for our baths, but there are few options. The only problem with this product, aside from high cost, is that a lot of people complain it doesn''t hang from their faucet without major jury-rigging. My faucet actually looks a lot like the one pictured, it slopes downward with a flange or flare at the bottom, so I figured it would work. I was right! I have to slow down the water flow a little when I''m filling the tub so that the water doesn''t spill over the sides of the filter, but it''s well worth it. It works like a charm to neutralize the chlorine. The manufacturer states that the filter will last for 26,000 gallons, but that depends on how much chlorine is actually in your water. Even if it turns out that I have to replace the filter several times a year, it''s worth it to me for better water quality and healthier baths! Another bonus is that every component of the filter is recyclable.

Buy Bath Ball Water Faucet Filter Now

Ok,so the size on the top of the filter is small and the lip of the ball could be larger to accommodate larger faucets without constant over spill/ flow. Now having gone over the design issues I must say I bought this for my toddlers baths and her skin is softer! The water we have smells like bleach so the obvious sign of less chlorine for her makes me feel better!

Well... it fits and stays in place. It does take longer for your tub to fill due to the fact you have to run the water slower so it doesn''t overflow the Bath Ball. The water does feel different and I am less itchy. The itchy skin was not from too hot of water... I believe Chicago''s high chemical water is doing it. I hope that the Bath Ball works overall in the long run.

Want Bath Ball Water Faucet Filter Discount?

My bath tub faucet is the type where you can''t control the amount of water that comes out. Turning it clockwise controls the temperature, not the amount of water. So the ball hangs from it, but since the water comes out fast it overflows the ball. So about half the water gets treated and the other half just spills over the top. I wish the ball was larger so all the water could drain through. It was a lot of money not to work. Notice the picture how slow the water goes through the ball. Close but no cigar!

Reliable EV1 Enviromate Tandem Steam Cleaner and Vacuum Save $0.99 Off

Reliable EV1 Enviromate Tandem Steam Cleaner and VacuumI just purchased the Enviromate TANDEM EV1 and will be doing a full review on this product. Hopefully it will remain a 5 star when I''m done. I purchased this in hopes it will cut hours of cleaning time down and actually do a better job than other vapor cleaning machines on the market. This one has an extractor which was the selling point for me. You can control the steam vapor for more delicate surfaces like wall to wall vs tile etc. I love the idea of cleaning with steam vapor but don''t like the fact you need to vacuum later to remove your dirt. This is an all in one machine! It will take a while for my review. I ordered this product from Canada directly because the additional tool I wanted which was the Turbo Brush Tool was not available on Amazon. I am really looking forward to using this product!

Sept 29,2012 I have had a chance to use the Tandem EV1 and I am very happy with this machine. It does everything it says it does and is built solid. Easy to use. There are many attachments with it. I used it on my wall to wall which takes a while but the end result is beautiful. Tile cleans up perfectly and it saved me tons of time and my back! The boiler beeps when you need to add water so you don''t have to worry about overheating. The machine won''t produce steam if water level is low so it''s designed for safety. The hose isn''t cool to touch but not hot either. It''s similar to my Jiffy Clothes Steamers hose. I can''t say enough about the quality. The parts all fit correctly and have locks to keep them in place. It seems like it will last a long time. I tried it on glass mirrors, tile and carpeting so far. I''ll detail the car with ease as well now too. I will also use it in the garage on the concrete floor later instead of bleach mopping. The steam can be used with different attachments to break down spills in your garage but use a mop to clean up solvents, oil and gas. Solvents in your machine would ruin it. I love the turbo brush tool that I payed extra for. It speeds up cleaning wall to wall in some areas. It also comes with a nice accessory bag. Customer service is excellent too. SMALL SLEEK LITTLE MACHINE! Oh Yes...one more thing. I didn''t use 1 cleaner and my things look better than ever. Amazing! That will save a ton.

10/03/12 Used on indents in carpet from previous furniture and their gone. I tried on a puppy pee accident. Blotted and pre treated with Natures Miracle while setting up machine. I used the Tandem for 10 minutes on and off then finished with Jiffy fabric freshener and repeated with the Tandem. Smells fresh now. I''ll check it tomorrow. Puppy urine is tough to get out no matter what so I won''t be suprised if my dog still smells it. While steam cleaning wall to wall position the tank by hand. Pulling on the hose line causes it to pull out of it''s socket. No harm done...no steam shooting out anywhere so it was fine. The wheels are very nice and work on smooth surfaces great. Might be helpful to put a locking switch on that part too but it isn''t a big deal. Play with the tools and find your favorite one. There are quite a number of them. The smaller tools give you more suction power so tight corners come clean easy. You can freshen up mattresses with this too. If you happen to have an unfortunate infestation I''m sure this will take care of it. It would definitely boil a flea, bedbug or a louse on the move. YUCK! Hopefully the price will come down so everyone can afford one easily though! It was like purchasing three or four steam cleaners at once. I have gone through six in 18 years so I have spent a ton in products due to kids and pets.

Tips: Let the vapor sit for a little bit before extracting. It cleans much better that way. Great on Oriental rugs. My choice for attachments for stairs and scatter rugs has to be part #30. It''s edge is flexable and did a quicker job on the stairs. It''s small so it also increases the extraction quite a bit. For spots I found leaving the vacuume on while steaming worked fast.

This was the first steam cleaner machine I have ever purchased. I have used an upright cleaning machine with rotating cleaning heads for years and wanted to try a new approach to cleaning carpet and upholstery using only steam. When I first opened the box I was amazed at how many attachments there were and the handy bag they all fit into.

The machine is a very well built. It generates steam in only a few minutes. The suction power of the vacuum seems very adequate to pull up the water. This makes for a very short drying time. Cleaning the machine after use is also simple. The design allows for a very thorough wipe down to keep the machine in top working order.

The numerous upholstery attachments is where this machine really excels. I cleaned two swivel rockers that had numerous inset buttons on the back of the chairs. The alternate attachments made even these hard to reach areas come out looking great.

In cleaning larger areas like carpets, the machine seems to lack in keeping up with adequate steam. But if you slow your cleaning strokes down it does a pretty decent job. Using my old upright cleaning machine always left more water in the carpet than I liked. This will never be a problem with this machine. I was amazed at how much carpet area I could clean with so very little water.

It would be helpful if the owner''s operating manual would include cleaning hints or techniques to get the most out of this machine with the varies types of cleaning surfaces it can tackle.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this machine. The quality of the vacuum/boiler and attachments are well made and in comparison to the price of other steam cleaners is worth considering this machine at its price.

Do not buy it. It does not work well. Parts are falling apart. Stem flow is bad. Have to stop every 30 seconds and wait for the steam to get back. Impossible to move around even on a bare floor. Vacuum ( and cleaning it ) is the worth part of it is. Does not come with any filters replacements ( needs 3 different ones only had 1 )??? It does not worth 150 $ forget about 1500 $

Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer 20 ozWe get ugly build up on our shower walls that usually took a magic eraser and LOTS of elbow grease to get clean. I followed the directions leaving it on for at least 2 minutes and used a non-scratchy sponge to wipe. It was clean in record time! Make sure to ventilate well with bathroom fan and/or open windows. It is pretty strong but worth it.

I have a shower that easily gets build-up of soap scum, etc. I have tried so many products with such crummy results. I hate having to scrub extremely hard & still get no where. I decided to try this product & low & behold, it worked!! Saves me a lot of frustration & from making my bones hurt trying to get a clean shower!!

I received a can of Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer to try for free as a Bzz Agent. I don''t have high expectations of any product advertising "no scrubbing needed", but I was pleasantly surprised with this product. It did seem to work on its own. I have a tub surround, so there aren''t any tiles or grout to clean. I would be curious to see how it works in that situation. For smooth surfaces, this product covered a large area and worked quite well. I would recommend giving it a try. Make sure you keep your bathroom or the area you are cleaning well ventilated.

Rubbermaid #1610-01-11 10gal Orange Water CoolerThis cooler is great. I use it for home brewing (as a MLT) and it works amazing. It holds the same temperature for an hour when I am mashing. It makes brewing so much easier.

I purchased one these 10 Gallon Coolers for the all grain process of brewing of beer. I''m confident it would work well for other applications such as holding water, lemonade, etc. I''ve used this several times with liquid ranging from 100 to 170 degrees farenheit with no problems. I did replace the spigot with a high end stainless steel one to attach 3/4 inch tubing to it. It was very easy to both remove the old spigot and put a new one on. The lid is a little funky, but it spins on and off pretty easily. It has a very durable feel to it, and I believe this is the same model that many home brew shops sell. Overall it''s a simple, but great product.

The 5 stars is for the cooler. The cooler doesn''t know it''s being over priced here.

Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee Press Save 11% Off

Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee PressI''ve had one of these press pots and have used it for about 5 years. The description says it keeps coffee warm for hours. This is not quite right. It will keep it drinkable for an hour (the press pot is not double hulled like nissan thermouses). I transfer mine directly after pressing into a nissan thermous. My press pot has been used daily and it is as good as new. I don''t under stand why people buy the glass one press pots. This nissan will last forever! The mesh screen does get worn, but mine is not so bad I''d replace it.

I drink my coffee stronger than average, okay, my husband calls it "Jet A" (the fuel used for jet engines) and I''ve never been happy with these automatic drip coffee makers. It came down to a professional espresso thousand dollar job or this little Nissan and I couldn''t be happier with it and the 9 bills I saved buying it. While some say it doesn''t keep coffee hot for very long, well how long does it take 2 people to drink 2 cups of coffee each? I just fill the pot with hot tap water while waiting for the kettle to boil and this keeps the coffee hot enough. Much better than that burnt taste of coffee left on a heating element.

I work in an office that does not allow individuals to have their own coffee machine due to fire concerns. Rather, they offer free coffee (ahem, if THAT stuff could be called anything other than hot colored water).

So, the french press is the way to go, and this thermos keeps the coffee hot just long enough for me, which is about 2 hours (don''t know why they claim 6 hours, mine is OK for 2-3 hours). I have seen some negative reviews of this product, and I think those folks need to take a minute to work with the product a bit more. Here are my recommendations:

1. If it leaks coffee grinds, then look at the screen. There should be NO bends in the screen along the coil. This is where coffee grinds can leak through. Nissan should replace the screen for you free of charge if you receive a defective screen, which is not all that uncommon. You can also buy replacement screens at local kitchen supply places.

2. If you don''t like the super-fine grained coffee that still gets through (I am like this), then do what I do. I place a regular paper coffee filter on top of the grinds prior to placing the screen on top. This does a fantastic job for me. It slows the press a lot, but the extra 10 seconds of press time is worth it in my mind.

3. Rinse the thing with HOT water prior to adding your coffee water. It makes a difference in my experience and helps make for a hotter cup of coffee.

4. Make sure the water you use is HOT. Be careful of some office coffee machines that have a hot water tap on them. This is usually not hot enough for coffee. You may want to use a separate container for microwaving your water to boiling hot before pouring into this container. This is true for all french presses, but the added thermal capacity of this stainless steel model cools the water slightly, so it helps.

5. Between pours, rotate the lid closed so that it is sealed off and won''t cool down as quickly. I usually forget to do this, but when I remember, I get warm coffee for almost 3 hours.

In summary, I get fantastic coffee with mine. For those of you that don''t, maybe try a few of these tips.

I would give this 5 stars, but I believe they ship too many of these with faulty screens that need replacement (the small bends in the screen near the coil can let grinds come through). This is a minor complaint for the price, though, as replacements are readily available if you don''t want to wait for Nissan to send you a replacement.

I bought this coffee press about two years ago and I love it. Makes a great cup of coffee. Easy to clean, usually I hand wash it but about once a week I toss it in the dishwasher. (They say to hand wash it only, but it seems to do fine in the dishwasher.)

I find that it keeps coffee warm enough for a couple of hours. Maybe not as fun as the see-through glass coffee presses but I like the extra insulation.

Want Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee Press Discount?

I went through several glass presses before seeking out a metal one I couldn''t break. I''ve been using the Nissan a month now and am completely happy with it. I''d like to address a couple of issues I see other people raising.

Some have said it''s not a double-walled thermos. It IS. However, the lid is a single (thick) layer of plastic. You can ''seal'' it by rotating the lid so the spout is fully closed, but it''s not as insulated as the rest of the press, and it doesn''t screw on. What I can''t say is how long it would keep fresh-pressed coffee hot, because I wouldn''t think of trying to store it. Coffee made in a french press should be consumed IMMEDIATELY. It doesn''t keep, hot or cold. You want coffee you can drink three hours from now -use a drip coffeemaker. The oils that make french pressed coffee taste better than drip also give it a short lifespan. So make what you need, and drink up; it''s easy enough to use that making it fresh isn''t a hassle.

I''ve seen some reviews expressing concern that the mesh is defective, the wrong size, or hard to replace. I have the leftover parts of several other presses to compare it to, and I can state categorically that the mesh is a standard size, exactly the same as every other mesh on the market. I''ve held this mesh up under a strong light next to two other brands -they are identical and completely interchangeable. Same size, same material, same make. I wonder if there''s really only one manufacturer and they just sell them to all the makers of french presses to re-brand and resell.

So if you''re worried about finding a replacement mesh when the time comes, don''t fear. You can replace it with the Bodum that can be ordered here at Amazon, or another one you buy, or the old mesh from your Starbucks or Bodum or other press whose glass canister you broke. As long as it''s a standard-sized french press (and most of them are) you''ll be fine.

Several people have complained about the "ill-fitting" mesh letting coffee grounds through. I have to wonder if something they''re doing is causing that. It hasn''t happened to me even once. No kinks, tears or buckles in the mesh, no loose grounds (at most a couple of strays--a few can get by in any press); after approximately 70 uses, mine still looks like new. Perhaps the people having trouble are shoving the plunger down hard and fast, as actors often do for dramatic effect on TV. Folks, don''t do that; the plunger exerts pressure that has to be released somewhere. Tap the canister gently on the countertop a time or two to let the grounds fall on their own, then depress the plunger slowly and evenly. This is true for any press, not just this one; even more so for glass models, because the pressure from a too-swift plunger can cause the glass to explode.

Some cheaper presses have a plunger that is partly plastic; they are flimsy and break easily. This one is all steel and heavy-duty. The plunger shaft, embedded through a close-fitting punched-out hole in the plastic lid, moves freely up and down, but isn''t going anywhere. It''s thick and well-made. The other three parts that screw on (the mesh and the two flatteners) are identical to steel parts you''ve seen on other presses. No cheap substitutes here.

A big thing I like about this model: the dripless pouring spout. Yes, it''s plastic, but the coffee doesn''t linger there everything inside the container, where the coffee sits, is all steel. Some reviewers warned of other metal presses that their spouts dribbled, that it was necessary to put a saucer underneath when pouring. This model does NOT suffer from that. Very clean, easy pouring. The plastic does not seem at all fragile or flimsy.

To sum up: it''s heavy-duty, probably unbreakable, so you can take it anywhere or handle it clumsily without fear. No plastic touches the coffee except the pouring spout. It is cool to the touch. It undoubtedly does keep coffee hot longer than a glass canister, but can''t double as a regular thermos because the lid is single-layer and the plunger is not detachable from it. So, if just getting a thermos is your priority, this isn''t the item you''re looking for. (I would have given it five stars if it had had a spare insulated, non-plunging lid so it could double as a regular thermos.) Plunger is thick, all-metal and probably the same manufacture as other popular brands. Mesh is industry standard size/make and easily replaceable. No-drip pouring. Handle, lid and spout are heavy, thick plastic. Burnished stainless steel finish. What else is there to know? I love mine.

GeneralAire 990-13 Replacement Humidifier Pad Save 59% Off

GeneralAire 990-13 Replacement Humidifier PadWent looking for the filter that would fit my General humidifier. Could not find it in the local stores (i.e., Home Depot, ACO). Could only get it from the HVAC supplier which I wanted to avoid since I didn''t want to have to pay a markup. So I searched the world via the Internet to see what I could find and wow what a deal! This filter costs 3 times less than going through my HVAC supplier. Keep in mind, this humidifier and brand have been around forever so I was glad to see that I didn''t have to spend alot of money on this simple maintenance item. I only ordered one since I wanted to make sure it really was the correct part. It was! It was not some imitation (copy) part like another supplier offered.

Ordered this for my GeneralAire Humidifier on my heating system. The product comes in a sealed plastic pouch, because the wicking material is coated with a compound to help the material hold and distribute water over the surface of the metallic wick. Open the pouch over a garbage can or your sink, as some of the powdery coating comes loose in shipping, and it is a little messy. Pre-rinse this item in cool tap water before installation into the humidifier housing. It will also be important to remove this item at the end of the heating/humidifying season, and clean up the wick tray and surrounding surfaces of the interior of the humidifier housing with a wet sponge. The coating compound breaks down after the heating season and can end up fouling your return air ducts if you do not remove it promptly. This is a procedure I have developed via trial and error over the last 6 years.

Rainshow''r New-Century Non Cartridge Dechlorinating Shower Filter Save 33% Off

Rainshow''r New-Century Non Cartridge Dechlorinating Shower Filter
  • Converts Chlorine into a harmless soluble chloride through a KDF filament
  • Crystalline quartz for energy enhanced shower "feel" and better lathering
  • Installs in minutes - no special tools or professional help required
  • Healthier, Younger Looking Skin
  • Softer, More Manageable Hair

I came across some shocking research findings on the negative effects of chlorine in tap water, and I decided to test the chlorine levels at my house. I got a chlorine test kit from the swimming pool store for $10.99. It should last for years. I was surprised to find that the level of chlorine in my tap was exactly the same of the level coming from this shower filter! In other words, it is not filtering chlorine at all! I wondered if it has EVER filtered chlorine in its 8 months of use, and if so, by how much and for how long!?

So, I decided to do a test. I just bought one more of these filters today. This time I am going to test it immediately when I install it, and then once a week until it no longer filters chlorine. I will do a cold water test and a hot water test.

I have been using this product for only 8 months, and it is only me using it! It is supposed to last one year with one person using it, so I have my doubts about it already, but I want to approach this scientifically.

I have recommended this product to 5 of my friends, and last night I had to write them an email letting them know my disturbing findings on the product''s filtering, or lack thereof.

Stay tuned for my experiment''s results...

Jeremy

*****

RESULTSDay 1: July 17th, 2012. The new filter just arrived today and I tested it just now.

ppm is "parts per million"

----With No filter (straight tap water):

Hot water: 0.5 ppm chlorine

Cold water: 1.5 ppm chlorine

----With the brand new filter

Hot water: between 0 and 0.5 ppm chlorine

Cold water: between 0.5 and 1 ppm chlorine

SO, it does appear to filter out SOME of the chlorine when it is brand new, but for how long does this filtering last? If the unfiltered chlorine level was high, unlike at my house, i wonder if this filter would even put a dent in the chlorine amount!!! Stay tuned for my weekly result posting. Keep in mind that the filter will be used about once a day by me, and rarely is anyone else using it, so over time we will see just how effective this thing is and how many showers until it is just wasting space.

Bio-clean Drain Septic Bacteria Save $0.04 Off

Bio-clean Drain Septic BacteriaI purchased Bio Clean based on the recommendation of the plumber. The instructions say that the use of the product might lead to an initial clog. The reason being is that the bacteria is loosing up the build-up on the pipe walls and pieces can come off and then clog. Bio-Clean then suggests plunging to push through. So, the frustration one poster is having is actually reflecting that Bio-Clean is working and the pipes must have been caked with lots of build-up. Once the build-up is gone then Bio-Clean seems to work as a maintenance strategy to not allow for the build-up. Another thing I read on the instructions is to start the product in the basement FIRST and then move upstairs. This is to clear way for upstairs build-up to come through. I am wondering if the frustrated poster did this. I have noticed a better flow in the drains by following instructions.

Hi, I''m chiming in because I have struggled with slow drains for 18 years at my house and I am liking bioclean. Here''s my story, I live in a 100 year old house with very old galvanized tub and sink drain pipes that drain very slow because the inside of the pipes are caked with years of built-up sludge. About 2 years ago, I had a plumber cut out a 5 foot section of a 2" sink drain pipe and replace it because the galvanize pipe developed a leak (a small hole) from rot. When I did this, I personally saw that the passageway for water to drain in this pipe was about the size of a dime because of build-up inside of this 2" pipe. Snaking DOES NOT remove this sludge, the head of the snake just goes down the dime size path. Anyhow... I can''t replace all the piping because 75% of my piping is hidden in walls and ceilings, so I decided to start using one of these products. I chose bioclean and I''ve been using bioclean for 2 years now and I finally see it working. The first year, the Bioclean creates a few blockages because it loosens the sludge and hair and that debris gets stuck in those dime size canals. Just like the directions say, a plunger usually forces the loosened debris through, sometimes I used a snake in that first year. However, it''s been two years and I never snake anymore, so I am becoming a believer now too. it takes a long time (2 years!) for this good bacteria to really start eating through and loosen years of built-up sludge. I treat once a month. here''s how I do it... I pour warm water into that cup they give you, and I stir in the dry bioclean and I let that warm cup with Bioclean sit on my counter for 20-25 minutes so these little critters can COME TO LIFE, then I pour the mix down the drain and try not to use that sink or tub for at least overnight (if not longer!) so the little critters can really build up their population and dig into the built up sludge and live within the sludge inside of the pipes. Whenever I go on vacation I do a treatment so it can REALLY build up in the pipes, while I am away. Unfortunately, liquid drain cleaners, bleach and things like mouthwash can kill the living bio-clean that are in your pipes so you have to keep that in mind and read all the paperwork they provide when you buy this stuff. This stuff does work, it''s all about patience, using a plunger every once in a while during that first year and building up the population as well as doing it monthly and not killing the bacteria with household chemicals. Additionally, I think putting bioclean in a toilet is probably just wasting the product as you are simply flushing it down the drain at high speed into the sewer, you want to focus on sink and tub drains and for the bioclean to live and work (feast) within your sink and tub lines. It''s been 2 Years and I''m finally starting to see results!

We purchased bio-clean almost 6 months ago. We followed the directions and our drains are now running freely and there is no more odor from the septic system can''t begin to tell you how much we appreciate that. This product has done the job for my family.

Initially, we left the bio-clean in our slow-running drains for 15 hours and it opened them up and they are still free flowing.

This is the kind of product you can''t really tell if it''s working for a long, long time, but I didn''t use it for about a year and my drains started to flow very slowly. I had been using it regularly for about two or three years and had no problems, but kept forgetting to re-order and things slowed down.

I would not recommend it to open a drain unless you can wait a couple of weeks for the little bugs to do their job, but as a safe way to keep drains behaving it seems to be a good alternative.

After having a recurrent sewage smell from our master bathroom shower drain, my mom suggested this product to me. I followed the directions of using it once a day for five consecutive days and then once a month thereafter. I am so pleased with the results and am, therefore, so glad to know about this product. It worked wonders, and I plan to keep up with using it once a month as a way of maintaining the cleanliness of our shower drain. Thankfully, after two years of having that sewage smell, we have not smelled it again since using this product.

Big Berkey w/ 2 White Ceramic Filters Save 15% Off

Big Berkey w/ 2 White Ceramic FiltersLiving in a hurricane prone area totally supplied by public utilities means a loss of electricity and water during outages. Although stocking up on bottled water is fine for a few days, between people and pets there is an ongoing need for fresh clean water without the excessive cost. This unit is used by the Red Cross as well as many other organizations in places where contaminated water is an issue. Not only is it les expensive than bottled but water tastes great, this requires zero electricity and it''s simple to use. All stainless steel eliminates the risk of plastics while ensuring a long life. No nasty iodine tablets (especially for those with sensitiviites) and re-usable filters are easy to keep clean. Great product with long term reputation for quality.

We are full time RVr''s (live and travel in our fifth wheel trailer) and use this filter for 100% of our drinking and cooking water needs. It meets all the claims of the manufacturer and is cheap insurance against drinking "bad" water. Best of all, it takes out all the odd tastes one encounters travelling all over the country everything from sulfur (rotten eggs) to over-chlorinated water. If it''s good enough for the World Health Organization and the Red Cross it''s good enough for mer. I''d recommend it without reservation.

This filter is very effective and very easy to use, a family member has one and recommended it to me, it removes everything from the water and is well built and easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple solution for safe drinking water without committing to a endless future of buying filters every three months, these are washable and reusable.

I bought this for emergency preparedness, with the thinking that I could put our tapwater into it and replace bottled water altogether as a bonus. After meticuluously following the instructions, our tapwater still comes out tasting odd, as though the filtration candles the water travels through are somehow changing/adding something to the water''s taste. I don''t know if this is the case, or if our tapwater, once purified, has this unusual taste, but it''s not water my family enjoys drinking, sadly. The tapwater straight from the tap does not have this strange taste. I''ve rinsed the candles repeatedly and carefully, I''ve run ten cycles of water through the unit, I simply cannot get rid of the aftertaste. Oh, well, I''d use it in an emergency.

The water from the tap in Lafayette Oregon is awful. It tastes bad and I mean BAD with a capitol B. The old Britta filter couldn''t make our water drinkable but it did make me feel better about giving it to the dogs. The Big Berkey is a true wonder. It makes our tap water taste very very good. Much better than any of the bottled waters available at the food store. It produces plenty of water in a timely manner. Within days of its arrival, I had filled 4 five gallon water containers. Now I keep 35 gallons on hand.

As soon as I can get a 300 gallon container I plan to start collecting rainwater and filtering it through the Big Berkey. It should take me a couple of weeks twice a year to produce my entire year''s worth of drinking water. I''ll have complete control over my drinking water which will cost me virtually nothing. A couple of filters every few years works out to just about free, high quality drinking water. The sense of being self sufficient and no longer relying on the state or some for profit corporation in order to drink water is most satisfying too.

This would be even more important if some event, like an earthquake for example were to disrupt the availability of water. With the BIg Berkey and storage containers, I''m in complete control of this most important daily need. As if this weren''t good enough, they have excellent customer service. They respond to any communication within a day. No matter what message I send, Dan from customer service gives me an answer within about 18 hours. These guys are great and so is their filter.
