Shop-Vac 9039700 Ultra Web Small Cartridge Filter Save 13% Off

Shop-Vac 9039700 Ultra Web Small Cartridge Filter
  • Cleans up like new for longer life. Just tap to clean
  • 5.5" high x 5.75" wide
  • Nonofiber filtration by Donaldson
  • Up to 5 times more efficient than standard cartridge filter
  • Retaining ring not included

I purchased this Ultra Web Small Cartridge Filter for a shop vac hanging on my tool bench back in 2011. This is a hard to find item, so I was pleased to find it available here on Amazon. The cartridge worked great for almost 2-years [until I sucked up some water -which I should not have done]. I found I could tap the bottom of the cartridge, get rid of some loose dirt, and it was good to go, but the water did me in. So I am back for my second cartridge. The price is very comparable to what you find at Home Depot or Lowes and the shipping is FAST from this seller! Thanks.

I have a 4-gallon model of the Shop Vac. I was worried that the filters would be expensive or hard to find. This one was very reasonably priced and fit perfectly. I suppose you can only get so excited about a vacuum filter, but this one made me happy.

This filter feels MUCH sturdier than what we started with! Fit the top half of my two piece shopvac, fitting the 2.5 gallon size just fine.Purchased early 2012 will try to keep updated.

After reading quite a bit about the filter material, it appeared to be a sturdier and more efficient filter compared to shop-vac filters. I prefer HEPA filters to pick up those nasty tiny particles you cannot see, including asbestos. While this filter is not HEPA rated, the specs indicate that it will do essentially as well. I am fixing up an old house, so filtering nasty particles is especially important to me.

While it is hard to vouch for things you cannot see anyway, after using this a LOT I find it hold up better. The stock filters seem to start to fray on the edges after just a few cleanings, which lowers my confidence in them, especially for small particles. This item has yet to show that fraying after a year of heavy use

I had trouble figuring out what size I needed. I have the Heavy Duty 5 gallon 5.5 HP model (professional grade), which I highly recommend, by the way. This particular filter fit properly.

I love how soft and hydrated my skin is now and how infrequently I have to use hand lotion, even in my dry climate.

I purchased the new dynamically enhanced portable unit recently to give as a gift. My gift will go to a person in an apartment that can''t add a home unit to his plumbing, but I wanted their family to have decent water to drink. They live in California and I know they are going to enjoy drinking water as much as I do now. I especially appreciated the offer from Ultimate Destinyland for the free Introduction to Structured Water with Clayton Nolte which explains everyone anyone would ever want or need to know about structured water.

Waterwise 4000 Post Filter Replacement Cups Save 91% Off

Waterwise 4000 Post Filter Replacement Cups - Six Pack DistillationPros: Cost Effective and a sticker to remind you when to replace the filter.

Cons: These replacement filters are a little larger than the original ones, so you may have problems with the gap between the filter outlet and the bottle. With these you must drip one or two cups of water through them to remove small particles of charcoal that can clog the filter outlet. It can take ten to twenty minutes for the flow to increase enough for use. Then you boil them for five minutes to sterilize them.

They will keep your water filtration quality at its best. I find that I don''t need to change them as often as recommended. I make mine last twice as long.

My only concern with this product is that it appears to be manufactured in China. The instruction sheet says "Printed In China." There have been too many incidents involving products manufactured in this country. We use the distiller to purify drinking water and the water then is filtered through a product of dubious origin. Just something to think about. What ever happened to products manufactured in the U.S.of A?

gotta have these for your distiller to properly function.

3-stars because: the price on the filters has almost Doubled in just a few years without any improvements. also, i''m sure the designers could''ve made the filter somewhat larger so that it not only does a better job at filtering, but Lasts longer. guess they''re making their money this way.

Saeco Black Odea Go Eclipse Super Automatic Espresso Machine Save 24% Off

Saeco Black Odea Go Eclipse Super Automatic Espresso MachineThis is a review by a Coffee Fanatic who has owned several machines, including the $8000 industrial version. I had the Vienna Plus for 8 months and decided to give that away to get the Odea Go.

The Vienna Plus had more water in the dredge drawer.. so much that I first thought the machine was leaking!! Found out that IS the way the machine works.. But the machine was bigger than the Odea, so it had room. I had to clean it out every 6-8 cups made.

The Vienna also allowed me to see the water level, so it was easy to refill.

Now for the ODEA:

Doesn''t matter which model Odea you get, they''re the same build. I was impressed by the BMW-designed mechanics, so I bought it for the sleeker look. Smaller unti fitted well on the small kitchen counter I have.

MAKES STRONGER COFFEE than other models of Saeco that I''ve tried/borrowed/owned/tasted. It''s able to extract more flavor.

PROBLEMS:

1. The water container is smaller than the Vienna. And the tank is hidden, so you can NOT see when it''s time to refill. YOU MUST refill before it''s down to 2 cups left, because the light weight will make the sensor stop working. The sensor is not by water, but by weight of water!

2. The coffee lid can''t be opened while the machine is ON. The other models can. This is weird.. because I used to be able to refill the Vienna while it''s brewing.

3. The dredge drawer needs to be emptied for every 3-4 cups of coffee brewed!! Though it''s not really full, the sensor will not let you brew coffee with water in this drawer!! So you will end up cleaning this every 4 cups max.

4. The drawer can''t be seen, the spills can''t be seen, because of the sleek design, everything is covered. And everything is BLACK, so you can''t see whether you''ve cleaned it very well. Coffee grinds may be hidden in places you can''t see... all gray and black plastic!!

WHEN MY NEW MACHINE WAS 5 WEEKS OLD, THE 3 RED LIGHTS FLASHED QUICKLY which means electrical problems. Turning it off and on did not help. Calling the manufacturer, diagnosed over the phone, and ended up to have to replace it with a new one. IT SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING.

I give this machine 2 stars for the great coffee it has produced for us over the last 11 months. Once you find the beans you like, it''s just wonderful to enjoy a cup of espresso or latte macchiato in the comfort of your own home anytime. We really love the coffee it makes! However, the grinder broke this morning for no particular reason. The machine is still covered by the warranty but an expensive appliance like this should be able to function much longer than 11 months... ''

Like I said, the coffee the Saeco makes is wonderful! I also have to agree with the other reviewer that the water container is very small and that the dredge drawer needs to be emptied fairly often. It''s a bit annoying because you don''t get any warning and if you are in a hurry in the morning... well, no coffee, if the machine needs some kind of attention.

Buy Saeco Black Odea Go Eclipse Super Automatic Espresso Machine Now

Was so excited to try this out.... First few days were OK. After a while the red alert display would light up even if everything''s filled up. I discovered that the problem lay in the water tank sensor. At first, filling the tank up to the brim would do the trick. After a while, I had to hold on to the water tank (press it towards the machine) just so it won''t light up (and stop) in the middle of a brewing session. I was ready to live with this quick fix, if only to make sure that I had good coffee for breakfast. But just yesterday, even this technique wouldn''t do the trick. I had to bring the machine to a local (I live in the Philippines) Saeco service center. To my dismay, they only honor Philips Saeco warranties and not Saeco warranties. If only I could return the machine to the seller. But the shipping costs alone would not make it worth my while.

I should have paid attention to the reviews posted by other buyers before I made this purchase.

Update 2/21/13: Got the machine back from the service center yesterday and it worked fine. I hope it stays that way for the next five years or so. :-) Apparently, the sensor was not aligned properly so they just had to adjust it. No parts were replaced.

I love the coffee this machine make! As I developed more and more demanding taste in Espresso I have bought more and more machines. This one is the one make the best Espresso, better than the Gaggia I have.

I do not have the reliability problem as mentioned in two previous reviews. The machine runs fine for almost two years now. I regularly clean the drawer (every 2-4 times of use), and only add water made from a filter pitch. This keeps the machine runs smoothly continuously.

Overall, I consider this machine a very good buy for the money.

Amana APO77R 7000-BTU Portable Electronic Air Conditioner

Amana APO77R 7000-BTU Portable Electronic Air ConditionerAs a previous poster noted, Amana does not acknowledge the existence of these rebadged Haier units on its site. Unfortunately, Haier also does not seem to acknowledge them, making support put-near impossible. The a/c unit does require a small window (or a large one largely blocked off) which can take some work if your windows are not the right size, but that''s true of any unit like these. It is a very handy unit, without the need to empty buckets. It is also fairly noisy, with odd controls that require the remote. It was great the first year we had it, less so the second despite careful storage. You''d probably do better with a domestic-production (or European, or Japanese) unit if you can find one.

This unit works great. It is really powerfull and pretty quiet. Comes on wheels so it is easy to move around. Keeps our large rooms cool right through the summer. Note this needs to vent out of a window. No problem for me and I''m really happy with it!

Its great. No buckets of water to empty daily and well worth the cost. I use it to cool a spare bedroom that is usually very hot, and it has made that room cool enough to make it comfortable to sleep in. It does vent out a window, but easily moved into closet during cooler months or as a back up a/c when the whole house air fails. It will only cool one room, but at this price point, () its well worth any short falls. Velcro remote to top of unit so does not get lost is suggested or keeping remote in a nearby draw for safe keeping.

I bought this for my daughter in college. Since she was not able to put anything that would stick out of the window, this seemed like the best alternative. We purchased the Aquasana whole house water system August 2011. After 1 year, it was the best investment we have ever made for our bodies and our home. Mr. Coffee CJX21CP 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Save 20% Off

Mr. Coffee CJX21CP 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, BlackI''m reading all of these reviews and it makes me chuckle. I bought my first one 3 4 years ago and it served us well for that time. 2 3 pots per day, it had a lot of use. I do miss the back light, but I never really used it to program the night before anyway.

Someone said the decanter drips.....well lift the lid a bit and it won''t.

Someone said theirs stopped brewing defective?? within warranty, return it / exchange it. Had it for a while?? Clean it that is why there is a cleaning function.

I purchased from the Marketplace for my most recent unit got a great deal and it brews like a charm better than Starbucks!! -I love the choice of brew we always go for the stronger using fresh ground French Roast or Sumatra. - Love it Love IT!!

This unit was obviously perfectly engineered -it lasted exactly sixteen days past the expiration of the one-year warranty. When it failed to heat up, I knew that I had been had by ''ol Mr. Coffee for a second time... this machine''s predecessor had expired at 14 months. I had hoped that the earlier failure was just a fluke, so I took a chance and bought another one. Silly mistake. There will not be a third. Out of morbid curiosity, I took it apart and performed an autopsy. I had initially hoped the problem was one of the two cheap thermal fuses inside, but it turned out that the heating element had burned out, so the whole thing went into the trash. It would appear that the Sunbeam folks who make these lovely things have cracked the code on building them to last precisely long enough to squeak past the warranty....similar to a Kleenex. They will not get another penny of my hard earned money.

My wife bought a Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Water Filtration, and after a couple of weeks this model stopped brewing coffee. It is probably going back to Costco.

I''m guessing this is a known problem?

I like this coffee maker. It is attractive, looks nice and makes a good strong pot of coffee.

I wish the clock was back lit. I like that it beeps when it is finished brewing. I have not encountered any electronics problems, but I don''t do any scheduling as I like to grind my coffee fresh right before I make it.

Our carafe pours beautifully, might be the smoothest most directional pour of any I have ever had. It slips in and out of the machine kind of clunky, but once you get used to it you adjust to the movement required.

We quit using the reusable charcoal filter and reusable basket after the first few uses as they require more work than we care to put into making a pot of coffee. I also don''t like washing coffee grounds into my plumbing and reusables require rinsing the left over grounds off. We actually like the taste of the coffee better with the paper filters and without the charcoal water filtration. At about 1/3 cent a day the filter cost is a non-issue

My last coffee maker was a hamilton beach and I hated it in the beginning but we got used to it and it lasted 11 years... I''ll be happy if this one lasts half as long.

Want Mr. Coffee CJX21CP 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Discount?

The coffeemaker itself works fine, but the carafe is the worst I''ve ever used anywhere. It is almost impossible to pour from the carafe without having the coffee or water dribble down the side. It''s not just my own clumsiness. This is our office coffeemaker, and it happens to everyone. We are constantly cleaning up spills around the coffee maker. It is plainly a defective design. I recommend that you buy a different brand.

Crane Demineralization Filter Cartridge Save 18% Off

Crane Demineralization Filter Cartridge for Crane Frog, Cow, Pig, Panda, Penguin and Elephant Cool Mist HumidifiersMy advice is to keep the original cap in case you decide this filter is not for you.

It managed to stop mineral deposits from building up further on the side of the resevoir, but the water gained a musty smell after a 15 gallons/three weeks of use. I sanitize with chlorinated water bi-weekly.

It was especially apparent in warm heated rooms. The risk of bacterial growth outweighs the benefits of the filter for me and I do not recommend this product.

I got a lot of these Crane humidifiers. We have a lot of minerals in our water, so I got these filters. Some of the humidifiers made too much noise to use in a bedroom. They are extremely cute, though, and inexpensive.

I got white dust everywhere even with the filters, even after also using water run through another charcoal filter. If you are serious about these humidifiers, you need to use distilled water. Then you won''t need these filters.

About the white dust, I mean literally everywhere, inside the DVD player for instance. I have quit using all of the Crane humidifiers and put them away. I was really sad about this, because they are so cute. They did raise the humidity about 10%. We live in the desert, it is very dry in the winter.

I bought the Crane Penguin humidifier about 2 months ago. The filter arrived about a week later. My experience applies to people using HARD TAP WATER. So far I''ve found that, although the filter helped with keeping the humidifier a bit cleaner (I clean it once a week with diluted bleach for the tank and vinegar for the base), it only seemed to work to reduce white dust (from hard water minerals) for just over a month, using the humidifier at a low or medium setting. I''m considering using distilled water instead it might work out cheaper than having to replace the filter every couple of months. I would definitely advise to keep the original cap for the tank and try the humidifier with and without filter.

This filter ruined my humidifier which had worked perfectly without it. Here is what happened to me. The humidifier, with filter in place, had been running for a couple of days when I noticed an odd smell upon entering the room. I determined it was coming from the humidifier, so I unplugged it and removed the water tank to take a look. To my shock, the bottom on the humidifier was filled with the amber colored pellets that once were inside the filter. The pellets filled up the area that should have been filled with water. The reservoir had water in it and the unit continued to run, but was overheating because the water wasn''t able to flow. The heat damaged (melted) the nebulizer black ring so that the water just leaks right through the bottom now. I am glad that I found out before it caused a fire. Crane customer service has not responded to my email either.

  • The GE FX12P Water Filter set includes two Activated Carbon Block Water Filters
  • Activated Carbon Block Pre-Filter and Granulated Activated Carbon Post-Filter
  • Should be replaced every 6 months

With my water, these last about 5 months before they get too slow and noisy. I don''t see any issue with the made-in-China aspect. If anything they produce water faster than the older models, but I didn''t really time it. My well water has enough iron that I''d notice if these didn''t work well, and that''s not a problem. Nice that I can get them at Amazon Prime is easier than driving to Big Orange at times.

One tip when changing the set, move the old Post filter to the Pre filter position, and just put the new filter into Post. I''ve been doing this for about 5 years and it works fine. Saves some money. No doubt the manufacturer would say it''s a bad idea, but my measure is the water quality, and it''s great.

My membranes seem to last forever, but maybe that''s because I have no chlorine in my water.

WaterChef C7000 Premium Countertop Water Filtration System (Black) Save 20% Off

WaterChef C7000 Premium Countertop Water Filtration System with Intelligent Monitor
  • Intelligent Monitor lets you know when its time to change the filter
  • NSF certification means you can trust the filter with your health
  • Stylish design looks great in any kitchen
  • 1,000 gallon filter life lets you enjoy clean water for up to a year
  • Limited lifetime warranty gives you piece of mind

The WaterChef C7000 is an excellent water filter. I will go in order from packaging to installation. We obtained ours just last night, so it has been in use for under 24 hours as of this review. My water is coming from the Red River and Red Lake River in the upper Midwest. So, it is pretty gross, especially since it travels through agricultural land before it arrives at the treatment plant. We have had multiple instances where the water tastes like fish during flooding season as well. So, in short, the water is nasty here. In the past, we owned multiple Pur, Brita, and DuPont brand filters. Both of us were so fed up with poor build quality, expense, crappy water filtration, and how dirty the units became. After much research, the WaterChef C7000 seemed to be the best frugal choice for us. We considered more expensive filters, but we aren''t using well water, so it wasn''t worth the expense.

Packaging and documentation:

1. Packaged with bubble wrap inside a white box.

2. Comes, as described, with a water filter pre-installed. It also includes the hose, diverter valve, aerator, battery (in tray), three different adapters for various faucet types, the hose, instruction manual, NSF certification, and warranty information.

3. If the adapters won''t work on your faucet, they are willing to send you a custom one based on your aerator''s threading.

4. They will send a new battery with the purchase of a new filter (new filters are around $50). So the battery is designed to last all year. They mention not removing it between filter changes because it will reset and/or lose data. The intelligent monitor operates off a gallons consumed meter.

5. They say the filter is rated to 1000 gallons. However, if you read the independent NSF testing, they rated it to 800 gallons. That is still a very good rating. To put it in perspective: 800 gallons is 12,800 cups of water. For one person that is 1600 days or four years and four months of water at eight cups per day. For a family of four, at eight cups per person/per day, that is 400 days of water. So even a family of four would be able to utilize a single cartridge per year. The catch here is, it is recommended to replace the filter annually. So it is in your best interest to utilize the filter as much as possible throughout the year. It goes without saying that the filter''s longevity depends on your water quality as well.

6. The instruction set is very clear and easy to understand.

Initial thoughts on build quality and design:

1. The interior of it is plastic with the exterior shell being stainless steel, with a combination of plastic fittings. Overall, I find the build quality very good.

2. The hose is a heavier duty flexible plastic. I am not concerned with its quality.

3. The diverter valve is made of metal. It has some interesting, well thought out, features as well.

a. It has a high quality o-ring in place to make a tight seal on the faucet head

b. The threading to mount it on the faucet rotates independently of the rest of the diverter. This helps prevent unthreading when the diverter is being moved around.

I. I did find the diverter and the threading moved together at times. Not sure if that is because it is new or not. I would consider installing locktite or plumbers tape.

c. The included aerator un-threads so you may install your own aerator. I found this was consumer friendly and well designed.

d. The switch to divert the water is spring loaded. This a good feature.

I. Once you make sure the water is cold, pull the diverter pin (switch).

II. It is under pressure, so it stays in place when the water is activated.

III. Unlike cheaper faucet based water filters, you DO NOT have to reset the switch when you turn off the water. Just turn off the water and the pressure loss will reset it.

i. This is a very nice advantage. It prevents you from forgetting to reset it and turning on hot water later, damaging the filter.

ii. At the same time. If there is not enough pressure (as in a thin stream), the switch won''t stay in place and will reset. You could just hold it in place too.

4. As you can see in the pictures, the water is one way: faucet to filter. This is an advantage over some other brands of similar setup that reroute the water back to the faucet head. That advantage is long term cleanliness of the spout for the filtered water. History has shown me that the traditional faucet mount water filters and their spouts will get very dirty from being so close to food preparation and dish washing. On top of that, I found they are difficult to clean thoroughly. So the WaterChef C7000 has a major advantage here.

5. I did my research across these counter-top style filters and found that this is the only one (that advertises) having .5 sub-micron filtering. The only thing I found better was a gravity fed system that was supposedly .3 microns but not certified in any way. Many of the other faucet based counter top filters seemed to be 1 Micron based. Given how nasty the water is in my area/building, I am much more comfortable with this setup.

Installation:

1. Easy. You screw the diverter on the faucet, and plug the other end of the hose into the hole on the bottom of the unit. Then, all you have to do is run cold water through it for 15 minutes to flush the cartridge and it is ready to use. Very simple.

Water Quality and Use:

1. The water tastes amazing. In the past, I had to put my water through two separate (cheaper) filtration systems to get it to taste this fresh and clean.

2. It fills a cup and a half of water in around 10 seconds. I haven''t timed it exactly, but that is pretty close.

3. Since I have the spout over the counter, I do need to place a towel underneath it. Reason being, when you turn off the water it does have some residual pressure that allows a thin stream of water to continue to flow for a few seconds. Then it will drip slightly for a few more seconds. Having the towel is nice to absorb those residual drips. I am sure physics are the culprit here over a design flaw. The only thing I can think of to stop that problem would be to install a one way, spring loaded ball valve in the spout stream that would close when the water pressure drops. However, something tells me simplicity rules in this case, given how well engineered this product is.

Buy WaterChef C7000 Premium Countertop Water Filtration System (Black) Now

I am pleased with this product in every way except one.

The one big problem is, it drips after shutoff. Not very much, initially. But after it''s been in service for a while, the post-shutoff dripping gets worse. Eventually it becomes a dribbling stream that lasts ~5 seconds.

This happens because (like all such devices) the filter is full of water between uses, and there is air dissolved in the water. Sitting between uses, the air comes out of solution and forms a bubble inside the filter chamber. This bubble is compressed when the water is turned on, and expands when the water is turned off, pushing additional water out of the filter after shutoff. Eventually this bubble becomes large enough that it causes a significant and sustained post-shutoff dribble. This isn''t a big deal if your filter overhangs the sink, but ours does not so it leaves a puddle on the counter.

I communicated with the manufacturer, and this is a known issue. However, it is most likely an issue with ANY product of this type the creation of an air bubble is inherent in the design of this kind of filter, so I don''t think the problem is confined to this product.

The solution is to mount the unit overhanging a sink, or buy the under-counter model which has a valve downstream of the filter and thus does not suffer from this problem.

In the manufacturer''s defense, they were very nice about it: they offered to give us a refund (after the normal refund period), replace the unit (while noting that this would not actually help solve our problem) or give us a discount on the under-counter model. Unfortuantely, none of these solutions will actually eliminate this problem with this product.

If it weren''t for this issue, I would have given the product 4 stars. If you don''t think this will be a problem for you, then I recommend this filter.

We live in an agricultural area with lousy tasting water and have had to rely on bottled water for drinking water. I bought this product for our family as I was getting tired of spending $45 to $50 a month on bottled water. After a couple of months with the WaterChef C7000, we can''t tell the difference between the bottled water and the water coming out of this unit. The unit is compact, easy to install, and blends in nicely on our counter top. Although we have not gotten to the point of changing the filter, I like the intelligent monitor as the issue I have had with previous water filters (mainly the pitcher unit) was figuring out when to change the filter. I totally recommend this unit.

I am always surprised by the deficiencies of most faucet or counter-top filters. This reflects both my own experience and the product reviews. So far I have tried pitcher filters (Pur, Britta), faucet filters (Culligan), and counter-top filters (Purenex you can find them on Amazon). The pitcher filters work well for a while, but then start to filter very slowly and you''re always playing catch up with filling the pitcher. The faucet filters seem to have issues too. I tried the Culligan. The water tasted fine, but the flow rate was impossibly slow (within two weeks it was literally drop by drop -took 10 minutes to fill a bottle). I have an extensive review of the Purenex. It''s not a bad filter and I bought it because it''s cheaper than the WaterChef -penny wise, pound foolish.

The Purenex, at least for me, had a long burn in period -the water tasted funky (worse than direct from the tap) for a week or two. After that it was fine.

The WaterChef is superior in everyway, except the price. After 15 mins of flushing, the water tasted fine. The unit itself is designed better. The diverter switches back to tap after you finish, which is a big help. Install is very easy -no tools needed. There is used-based light on top that tells you when to change the filter. The unit can be placed to the left or right of the faucet (you adjusted the base so the hose comes in from the correct direction). Finally the flow rate is decent. Not as good as the Purenex, but then in some ways that is comforting, since if you''re filter water well you do imagine it flows a bit more slowly. But I can still fill a bottle in about 10 seconds. Plenty fast.

It is worth noting, as other reivewers have, that you really need to have this over the sink. The drip after usage is sufficient that I wouldn''t want to have it on a counter, even with a drip tray.

The only qualification to this 5-star review is that I''ve only used the unit 3 days. I''ll update the review if my opinion changes. But so far this is it!

I used to be a plumber long ago, and in my opinion this is a great unit. I did some checking around online and settled on the WaterChef. Seems to me another top rated company paid off a certain " Consumers" magazine. Go online and find the fake website slinging mud on their competitors. I installed this unit in 5 minutes and used my multitool to tighten the extended diverter/aerator. A light will come on once the battery is installed then run water through it for 15 minutes to clear any loose carbon particles. The water tastes great and it is exactly what I was looking for and the price is worth the quality and features.

Stonetech Bulletproof Sealer Pt

Stonetech Bulletproof Sealer PtI used it for a new granite countertop. It goes on easily and dries fast. It''s been about four weeks since I started using the counter for kitchen work and it still looks new--no stains or dark blotches.

A word of caution: This is thin material and goes a long way so don''t order extra "just-in-case" material.

Applied this myself to our new kitchen countertop. I did apply it in two passes but I''m not sure that the second pass was needed. At any rate, it works very well to prevent water, etc from getting into the granite. Water can stay on top for hours without any getting through.

Our granite is very light and just setting a glass of water on it would leave a dark ring that would disappear after several minutes. The fabricator said this was because it was very porous and that we should not put anything on the counter that may stain it such as wine or coffee. The fabricator sealed it twice but to no avail. We used Stonetech and sealed the granite twice. No more rings! We now put all kinds of food and drink on the counter with no worries of staining. The sealing process was very easy with minimal odor.

Used this on a Solarius granite bathroom vanity which was allegedly sealed before installation, but was soaking up water like a sponge. Did two coats, following instructions, and water now beads on the surface (except in one spot that I somehow missed next to a faucet). Quick and easy application, easy clean-up, low odor. Good stuff!

The product is very easy to apply. A little bit really goes a long long way. It did make the counters feel a little like plastic. Left no visible residue. Would definitely use again.

Sunbeam Products Inc Wtr Filter Repl Disc Wffpdq-10 Coffee Maker Parts & Accessories

Sunbeam Products Inc Wtr Filter Repl Disc Wffpdq-10 Coffee Maker Parts & AccessoriesThese are great for removing the chlorine taste from our city water, which makes our coffee taste much better. The price, however, is a bit daunting, coming in at a whopping $4/each! Since it''s recommended that they be changed monthly, the cost is prohibitive enough to encourage a "faucet water filter" rather than these disposables.

I chose this filter because it is reasonably priced. It works well, does what it is made to do.

I would recommend it, with little experience with different brands, I can only say it does the job and is priced right.

Niagara Earth Massage 1.25GPM Low flow showerhead

Niagara Earth Massage 1.25GPM Low flow showerhead
  • Corrosion-resistant, high-impact ABS thermoplastic body
  • Adjustable 9-jet turbo massage
  • Consistent flow rate, regardless of water pressure
  • ?Self-cleaning, non-aerated spray, making it maintenance free
  • 1.25 gpm saves you up to 30% more energy and water

I''m not the kind of person who needs to be hit with water from 14 different angles to say I had an adequate shower, and I don''t have a pathological need to feel every square inch of my skin deluged in water simultaneously (uh... take a bath?). I''ve never fallen in love with a shower head, and when I''ve had shower heads available that did the swirlies or the pulsies or the steam or what-not, I never used those features.

To me, most of the plain jane shower heads I''ve experienced in my life provided perfectly adequate showers.

However, a few years ago, I got interested in saving water, and since then I''ve bought and installed on my own homes several different low-flow shower heads, including the Oxygenics Skin Care 1.5 gpm showerhead, Oxygenics Body Spa 2.0 gpm handheld, the no-name hardware store 2.0 gpm showerheads, and this Niagara Earth Massage 1.25 gpm showerhead.

This Niagara 1.25 gpm showerhead is the best of the bunch, and better than most plain jane shower heads. When we swapped out the shower head in my last house (your average 2.5 gpm model) for this 1.25 gpm head, my kids actually thought I''d put in a HIGHER-flow shower head, because the spray felt more forceful. But looking at how much less water was puddling around my feet with the Niagara shower head, it was very clear to me that there was a LOT LESS water going down the drain.

In the two years we used it, it never leaked, it never broke, and it never clogged. Considering its low price, I have to say that it''s a very high-value shower head. Next I would like to try the Bricor UltraMax in this new house we just moved into, but since it seems to be unavailable from the manufacturer, I''ll be ordering another Niagara 1.25gpm now. What happened to my old one? I never move a low flow shower head with me... I always leave it where I install it, for the next person to benefit from!

I needed to reduce the flow of my water in an effort to put off replacing the hot water heater that I''d already adjusted the temperature on...and still couldn''t get a hot shower for longer than 10 minutes. This does the trick. It was easy to install and no tape/special tools required aside from the correct size wrench. The three settings are nice, but I like a high pressure shower so really only one works for me. I wouldn''t say the water pressure is amazing, as some other reviews say, but it is decent. (That may vary from location to location though.) I wouldn''t mind it a bit stronger. I''ve had a nice long 20 minute shower this morning and couldn''t be happier about that so mission accomplished. One note--this showerhead may be good for small children just starting to take their own showers. Some children are afraid of the shower/used to baths and on one of the settings it is basically like a sprinkle so that may help get them used to it.

I started out with the Niagara 1.5gpm showerhead, at the time i wasn''t aware they had a 1.25gpm head as well. Out of curiosity i ordered the 1.25 head to see if i can save a bit more while still having a comfortable shower experience. I figured i''d save 2.5 gallons on each 10 min long shower, which if you factor in a family household; can add up to a savings of a few hundred gallons a year. Compared to the 1.5gpm head, i actually like this new one better. The stream is a bit more thinner and it feels like there''s more pressure behind it. I find it wakes me up in the morning, with a refreshing sting like feeling on the skin. The ring of water does leave a large gap in the middle, more so then the 1.5 head version. But it really isn''t all that bad, and far from a deal breaker. I also found that this shower head rinses out my hair better, because of the more pressurized stream.

At the price and gpm rating, this showerhead can''t be beat. Even from switching from the 1.5 to the 1.25. I figure it''ll pay back for it''s self in a month and a half.

Want Niagara Earth Massage 1.25GPM Low flow showerhead Discount?

I bought a house with a recently renovated bath. The previous owner had installed an oversized rainfall showerhead in a very small shower stall. This meant that anyone under six feet tall could not avoid getting a face full of water or a shampoo (whether intended or not) when showering. To make matters worse, the water flow was so weak that it took a long time to rinse my hair, so that the water would be cold by the end of the shower.

I installed the Niagara Earth Massage 1.25 GPM shower head, and it was instant gratification: a directed flow, good force behind the water, and I have not since run out of hot water! Showers are faster, less aggravating, and (theoretically, at least) cheaper! Considering the low price of this shower head and the returns in personal comfort, it is an excellent bargain!

I do have one gripe, though. The shower is only forceful in its two extreme settings "Shower" or "Massage". When set between the two, the flow reduces to a feeble trickle. (I wonder if the reviews complaining about the force of the water flow were due to the owners not adjusting the setting.)

Well my package arrived today with this shower head. The goal of this purchase was simple, lower my water bill. Although I have yet to take my first shower, I had this thing installed in less than 10 minutes. With the exception of the fact that I needed a wrench to get the old head off, I would not have needed any tools or teflon.

After running the water for a minute or so, I a struggling to tell the difference between the 2.5g per minute head I removed. Hard to believe that i''m using 1 gal less per minute. Considering that my girlfriends daughter take 15 minute shower, that''s a lot of water.

I''ll update this after a shower..

The design of the product was not the same as the one it was to replace that I have received before. The one received would not fit into the receiving ring on the refrigerator as it was too large. I had to pay return postage for a product that was not compatible and I feel that the company should had offered free postage for a product that was not the same specifications.

These filters are a recent answer to the expense of replacement filters, and they are NOT the answer. My Kenmore takes filter #46-9014, a number clearly marked on the package of the Water Sentinel. And it does not fit. I trued screwing it in for 15 minutes, finally got what I thought was the "sweet spot", and then screwed it in. Upon trying to get water out of the fridge, water sprayed everywhere and did not come out of the spigot. Bad product.

I purchase these to try because I was tired of paying $50.0 for (1) Amana name brand filter. I bought two of these for less than $30.00. It fit fine and the water tastes as good as the Amana brand filter.

KRUPS KM9008 Cup on Request Programmable 12-Cup Coffee Maker Save 42% Off

KRUPS KM9008 Cup on Request Programmable 12-Cup Coffee Maker with removable build-in Stainless Steel Coffee Tank, BlackLength:: 1:15 Mins

I bought this machine because of the option to make smaller amounts of coffee instead of always having to make 12 cups. When I set it up at home, I started playing around with the functions and learned it has options to pre-program to my travel mug or my "Sunday morning" mug. All I do is press a button and it dispenses the exact amount!! It keeps my coffee hot, thanks to the stainless steel carafe. Really easy to use and program. Plus, it looks sleek on my countertop!

I got this to replace my old cuisenart coffee on demand maker. The coffee tastes WAY better made in this maker! I am a serious coffee drinker, use good quality coffee and I like it strong, usually use French roast. I like the stainless steel coffee chamber much better on this model over the mostly plastic chamber in the cuisenart, although its not a thermal container, the coffee doesn''t get that burnt taste if you leave it on for a couple of hours like the cuisenart maker did. Easy to clean and set up the coffee and it looks nice. I like makers with thermal carafes, but we don''t like messing with a carafe, so these kind of makers work for us best. My only compliaint so far, have only had it for a couple of weeks, but we use is every single morning and some afternoons, is that it is advertised as a "12 cup" maker. I use a big measuring cup to hold the water I put in the maker and it clearly shows that this maker only holds 8 cups of water. This is not enough for me to send it back as I am otherwise super happy with it, but I was disappointed by this as 8 cups only makes about 4 large mugs of coffee, not that much for "coffee-aholics" like my husband and I are!!

Here''s what I love about this machine:

1. I use organic coffee filters, regular coffee and I don''t have to feel guilty about throwing away pods.

2. I can manually adjust how much coffee it pours.

3. I can set it to make the coffee "strong" or regular.

4. The ability to make a pot of coffee, run the kids to school, get home and see that the coffee has been on for 12 minutes and it''s piping hot when I make a cup!

5. When I''m not using it for coffee, I use it to keep water hot for four hours. This way, I''m seconds away from a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate for the kids.

Here''s what I like about this machine:

1. The adjustable tray. Is it the most sturdy thing on the market? No. Does it hold a cup of coffee? Yes. Should it do more than that? I don''t think so. Does it look cheap? No. Does it feel cheap? Arguable.

2. Coffee tastes fresh brewed for about three hours. Never have I been able to keep a pot of coffee ON for three hours and not have it taste like an ashtray. Once you go beyond the three hour mark, it does start to "age", but it''s still in my opinion better than the alternative.

Here''s some thoughts on improving the next model:

1. Cone filter. It''s the standard for most Krups machines and I had a boatload of filters from my old machine that are now serving as paper hats for my daughter''s dolls.

2. The carafe itself. We had friends over and blew through the 12 cups. I needed to put on an oven mitt to pull the internal carafe out. Also, seems like the handle should have a little more oompfh to it.

3. The filter holder. When I remove it to discard the grounds, it drips. Now, if I''d just remember to pull the can over, no big deal. But inevitably, I forget, carry the holder to the trash can and then later wonder how drops of water got on the floor.

I had a Keuring, didn''t like it (coffee was too weak, cost of pods was a bit much given what I can get a bag of D&D for at Costco) and boxed it back up. The KM9008 is not a pod-type coffee maker and those certainly add the "I want it NOW" convenience. But, after trying out the Krups Cup on Request, the Keurig is being returned and I''m sticking with my Cup on Request.

I was perfectly happy with my current coffee maker, so I picked this up via Vine with the expectation I''d use it as a spare. After testing it for my review, though, I was so impressed with it that it''s now my every-day coffee maker, and the other one became the spare...

I washed all the parts, ran a cleaning brew according to the directions, and then got ready to give it a test. My "old" coffee maker uses cone filters, and this one uses basket filters, so I just trimmed a little off the top of the cone filter & then got it wet under the faucet, which allowed me to sort of ''mold'' it to fit, and it worked pretty well. I set the time, set the "strong" brew option, set the warming timer for 2 hours, and then started the brewing cycle. It took slightly longer than my old coffee maker, but 7-10 minutes is fast enough for me.

You set the one-touch "large" and "small" settings by just holding each button down until your mug is filled as high as you want, and then you release the button. After you set it, you just press the button one time & it fills your mug to the same level each time. I have my "large" setting set to fill the mug about an inch from the top, and the "small" setting to fill the mug halfway. If I want to use different mugs, or if I''m adding more coffee to a partially-filled mug, I just use the "manual" button. And you can reset the large & small settings any time you want.

The first thing I noticed about the coffee was that it was much hotter than my other coffee maker, and it was much cleaner less oil, and no bitterness at all. I had another mug about an hour later, and it was quite hot, too, but had no bitter/burned flavor, which was a nice surprise...

Some minor complaints: I''ll have to double-check the directions, but the display light is too bright & I don''t think it can be adjusted. And the display itself is pretty cheap looking I''d prefer something with more of a crisp display & more contrast, so it can be more easily read at angles. The Large/Manual/Small button group is a little off center on my machine; instead if being centered at the top/middle/bottom like it shows in the pictures, my labels are askew, as if the whole button assembly had been twisted a quarter inch to the left. But other than those very minor annoyances, I''m satisfied with the coffee maker, and hope it stands the test of time.

Want KRUPS KM9008 Cup on Request Programmable 12-Cup Coffee Maker Discount?

I had a Krups FMF514 thermal coffee maker that died after a number of years, and was looking for something better as a replacement. I stumbled across this Krups coffee maker, and decided to give it a try without a whole lot of information despite searching the web. I''d give it 3.5 stars if I could, but don''t think it deserves 4 stars, and thought I''d fill in some of the questions I couldn''t find the answers to when I was looking for a coffee maker.

First, by the initial reviews, this seems to be aimed at competition to the Keurig pod system coffee makers. I don''t know why this is so, but having tried some of the pod coffee makers in the past (not sure if Keurig), I''d guess you''d get better coffee cheaper from this machine, but you don''t have the convenience of the pod system I''m not sure I understand why you would want a pod system, but this essentially is no different in terms of preparation as any brewed coffee system.

I had two requirements from a machine: 1) brew strong coffee, and 2) keep it warm for a couple of hours for when I drink coffee throughout the day at home (on weekends). I was unpleasantly surprised to see that it used a basket filter rather than a cone filter (I think you can get stronger coffee with a cone filter), but after a week of experimentation I found that you could get a pretty strong pot if you pretty much fill the basket filter full for 10 cups (by Krups marking on the pot)of water. I use a little more coffee than previously, but overall ok. For the second, it does a pretty good job of keeping the coffee warm without burning it for about 1.5-2 hours. Past that, it will be burnt, but this is as good or better than I''ve had from prior coffee makers. Overall, performance is not bad, but for twice the price of my old machine, I''m not sure I would have made the purchase again.

A few minor things I wondered about and could not figure out from Krups very poorly done sales information:

1) It uses standard basket filters, ala Mr. Coffee machines.

2) You can pour a cup of coffee while it is brewing (you don''t have to wait until the brew cycle ends), but you won''t want to until the cycle is mostly completed.

3) You can stop the automated pouring by a quick jab of the "manual" poor button in case you hit the wrong thing and were going to make the cup overflow.

4) The brewing area and pot seem pretty well designed, proof against accidental water spills and such, but we''ll see in a couple of years how long it lasts.

Bodum Chambord 3 cup French Press Coffee Maker

Bodum Chambord 3 cup French Press Coffee Maker, 12 oz., ChromeEven if you find an espresso machine alluring, in the meantime, you can''t beat coffee made with this elegant and perfectly functional press pot. It''s simply the easiest and best way to extract maximum flavor from your finest beans (use a uniform grind slightly coarser than automatic drip). Some people even prefer it to espresso. It''s durable, easy to clean, and doesn''t require electricity.

One reviewer claimed they put the grounds and the water in the pot, immediately pushed the plunger and waited 10 minutes. However, they will get much better results if they wait 2-4 minutes (depending upon the coarseness of the grind) before plunging the coffee, and then drink it right away. I wouldn''t even let the coffee rest, plunged, in the pot for ten minutes, as it will become over-extracted.

As for the reviewer that whined about truth in advertising, all I can say is "Duh". They themselves pointed out that the pot does make three espresso cups'' worth of brew. And if they watch what they are doing next time, instead of just trying to pour 12 oz. of hot water into something, they can avoid future unpleasant experiences. I actually make coffee for two "cappuccinos" with this model. If you don''t like your coffee as strong, you can simply add a little hot water to your cup after you have poured your coffee (like an Americano).

My sister bought this press for the house. This one works real well-perfect for those coffee press users. Bodum is also a well known brand of coffee press, so you don''t have to worry about a flimsy product. Also if it breaks, Bodum is pretty good with spare parts. As a comsumer, I always recommend you shop around for the best price.

When using a coffee press, or any other coffee machine, make sure you FRESHLY grind your coffee for optimal taste. I recommend all serious coffee drinkers to invest in a good burr grinder-you really can taste the differnce. Also for a coffee press the ginds must be large and coarse in thickness, otherwise your pressed coffee will taste lousy-do not use automatic drip sized grinds. I also recommend a quality dark/French roast when using a press.

Please note that this press makes 3 French-sized cups of coffee. In Paris cafes, you''re served coffee in a press with a "bowl sized" cup half filled with steamed milk (Cafe Au Lait).

The person who chastised everyone''s reading skills below, insisting that this is a "3-STEP (as in add grounds, add water, press) not 3-CUP" press, is incorrect, and apparently did not her/himself read the title (which does indeed say "3-CUP", NOT "3-STEP). It IS a "3-cup" press -however, if you look around at the descriptions of various french presses found here, you will find that they all define a "cup" as 4 ounces. So, no, this 3-cup press, which is 12 ounces, is not going to brew enough coffee for 3 *mugs*. (And the 8-cup presses, which are 32 ounces, are not going to brew enough for 8 mugs.) The ones referred to as "3-cup" will brew about roughly mug''s worth of coffee. This particular press is at least as good as any other I''ve used, which is to say very good!

I purchased this as a 1-person coffeemaker because the other 2 coffee drinkers around here complained that I made coffee too strong. Although this is a 3-cup press (each cup = 4 oz, European standards, I suppose) it''s really perfect for just one mug. I can almost fill my 14 oz travel mug, and I only ever drink one cup in the morning, so capacity is perfect for me. If you drink lots of mugs, don''t get this!

I got one of these in a discount store for only a few dollars, which was a great bargain! Following the suggestion of 3 tablespoons of coarsely ground beans with 12 oz H2O, my coffee comes out as strong as I like it. There''s sediment, but that doesn''t bother me. Reminds me of Turkish coffee. Clean-up is a little more involved than with a drip maker, but I like the press coffee better, so that doesn''t bother me either. The only thing that can truly bother me about coffee is when it isn''t strong enough.

Of course, the coffee cools quite quickly if you leave it in the press too long, so I just pour it into the vacuum mug right away, where it stays at temp much longer.

Also, as a control freak, this brewing method is appealing because it allows me to boil the water to the exact temp it needs to be (yes, I use a thermometer. I did say I was a freak). I love this method of brewing coffee, but clean-up and sediment might not be OK with everyone.

Considering the price I paid, I give this 5 stars. It happens to match my coffee needs exactly.

Want Bodum Chambord 3 cup French Press Coffee Maker Discount?

Alas, like so many other products, this one has become cheap and shoddy. I bought my first Bodum french press almost 20 years ago. It lasted that long with regular use, made good coffee, and became much loved in my house. A few weeks ago I bought a replacement -same company, same size, same model -and much to my disappointment, this thing is a piece of junk. The metal parts are flimsy and about half the time the grinds slip past the filter, as well as the ridiculous plastic filter at the top. I''m throwing it away. It is that useless.
