White Countertop BottleLess Water Cooler from BottleLess Direct. Dispenses Hot & Cold water. This product does produce good tasting water from the tap and it also produces cooled or hot water instantly. The major problem is that the cooler is an energy hog. It costs about $15 or $20 more a month on my electric bill to operate this device. The motor runs constantly which is not only expensive but annoying. It produces a good product but at a substantial cost.

Keurig Replacement Water Filter Cartridges (Set of 6)

Keurig Replacement Water Filter Cartridges, Set of 6I thought I was buying Keurig coffee filters but I''ve purchased replacement filters from Keurig before and these filters are not Keurig filters, they are not shipped in Keurig packaging, they do not fit like Keurig filters and since they are so much smaller than normal (estimated 30% smaller), I seriously doubt that they will even do the job of filtering. Oh but I did save eighty cents per filter! Big deal!

One suggestion: Spend the extra eighty cents per filter and get the real thing. I was scammed but you were warned in advance!

I got these about two weeks ago and just went to change the filter today. These are about half the size of the ones I got from Keurig and do not fit/stay in the filter holder. Sending them back.

These water filters are just the thing to help extend the life of your Keurig Coffeemaker. Before I started using them, my coffeemaker did not work very well because of the mineral deposits in the water, over a period of time. Now I know I''m doing all I can to insure that only filtered water is going into my Keurig Coffeemaker!

Eoflo Family Water Pitcher Save 20% Off

Eoflo Family Water Pitcher - Replacement Filter for PitcherWater tastes good out of this unit. It is a liitle large but the water filters through quickly and so far we are happy with it. It is supposedly one of the only pitcher units to get rid of some of the flouride, and I like that the filters last 6 months.

The Seychelle water filtering pitcher and the filter work really well, clean the water well and we''ve all, including the pets, have been drinking more water since we got this system 2.5 months ago. But we''ve had to change the filter 3 times already and the third one now is dripping out only about 1 pitcher of water in about 3 hours which means it''s getting near the end of its life. Sure, we have hard water here but these filters are touted as lasting 6 months--there''s huge discrepancy between 6 months and barely working for 1 full month. And at $25+ per filter, it''s getting expensive. The company does accept used filters for recycling but you don''t get any rebate or credit for them, it''s yet another cost on the customer since you have to pay for shipping to them. We are currently considering the alternatives--we love the water Seychelle purifies, we can afford the replacement filters now but we intend to retire in a little while and don''t want to be paying $25+ just for filters, that''s over and above the cost of tap water which just doubled in price.

10/11/2011--I ordered 6 more of these filters to stock up because the shipping was free which made them about $5/unit cheaper then buying from Seychelle. I had to replace the water filter today and opened one of the Ecoflo filters but could not get the red top off. I opened and tried another unit, again could not get the red top off. And another. And another. These filters from Ecoflo are useless if you can''t remove the red top used only for wetting the filter because they are on so tight--you have to be able to take off the red top so you can screw the new filter onto the pitcher unit! You might want to reconsider buying Ecoflo replacement filters.

I bought my pitcher in late August. I am one person using it for a pot of two of coffee or tea per day, and to cook potatoes, boil eggs, etc... not that much usage. It is now mid-Nov, and I''m having to replace the filter. This is most frustrating, since it touts to last approx 6 mos for a family! I''m going to be ordering this replacement filter, today... because I don''t want to go back to PUR, where there will be NO removal of fluoride, by their bragging about it!

If the next filter operates the same as the last, then I''ll be looking for another pitcher, if it exists, that removes fluoride. That''s why I bought it.

GE GXFM07HBL Faucet Mount Filtration System Save 27% Off

GE GXFM07HBL Faucet Mount Filtration SystemI purchased this water filter because I have had good experiences with GE appliances

over the years, particularly with kitchen appliances. This water filter turned out to be a huge disappointment :

difficult to install on the faucet to make it leak-free (swivel collar is

plastic which yields some when being tightened)

water filter cartridge has very short life (less than three months even when

only used occasionally)

after six months, water filter would not return automatically to the

non-filtered mode, i.e. whenever the faucet was turned on, it would only provide

filtered water

electronic monitoring system is faulty, i.e. after a few months, amber light

would come on followed by green light, even though battery and filter cartridge

were still okay

changing battery takes some patience, i.e. typically had to re-install it

several times and reset it until it finally worked correctly

All in all : a disappointing water filter with several design/quality problems

that an appliance manufacturer like GE should not have

Having tried two other faucet-mount filter brands, and being disappointed in both by their poor manufacture and design, I was thrilled that this one does not have any of the issues the others had. It is built to last, with a metal thread attachment, thus ensuring it will stay put (and not eventually fall down like the others, or become stripped.) The batteries can be replaced, so you do not need to discard it when the batteries are drained. I has a nice spray option, it is cheaper than its competitors'' models, and does not leak.

However, filter mode has stopped going back to unfiltered mode, as other users mentioned. It''s isappointing that this was the best faucet mounted filter out there. It now seems the best option really is an undersink type filter.

Although I purchased this at a local home improvement store (wasn''t available online at the time) about three (3) years ago, it still works great. I had to purchase an adapater for my faucet and that was and has been my only problem if you can even call that a problem. On the other hand, my mother didn''t like the roundness of this filter so I opted to get her the sleek and slim Brita in the chrome finish. Well, to my surprise the Brita only has a spray function, it drips a few times after each use, and the tab designed to activate and deactivate the unit can a little difficult for her because of her arthritis. But before we even got to that point, I had to get her a new faucet because we just couldn''t get the Brita nor any other unit at the store to fit her old faucet. This also meant she had to hire a plumber to install the new faucet but to be fair her faucet was rather old so I think we would have had to change it out anyway even if she had liked the GE although her countertop filter worked perfectly with her old faucet. As far as the dripping Brita goes, I thought we had a faulty unit but after viewing the Brita video I realized they just drip because the unit in the video dripped. And to think, I only clicked on the filtration system today to be routed to the repalcement filter but I was so surprised by the low rating that had to write a reveiw. Not to say the low ratings aren''t justified because I to have purchased someething with great reviews only to be disappointed after the purchase. Maybe I got lucky and got a good one but I love it. I wish it wasn''t so large but it doesn''t drip, at all.

To the others that have said their faucets ''break'' (i.e. the faucet won''t switch automatically from filter to unfiltered mode) after three months of use ... That''s usually when you hit the filter''s change time (family of three), which is 100 gallons. After you replace the cartridge, the filter works fine.

Bottom line: this unit looks like chrome, it actually does snap back to unfiltered mode (many brands require you to switch between them manually), and it''s a breeze to setup. I''m highly critical of my product choices, and this filter (after 4 years) has been perfect. Just remember to replace the filter after 100 150 gallons (alternatively, whenever the filter starts to slow in its stream or stops snapping back).

When I bought this last May before the product description was ##### (deleted) it stated this filter was compatible with standard RO systems. I did a lot of research before ordering this. Nowhere in the product description does it say you can''t use this on the Watts WP-5 system. As I didn''t have the old membrane out of the unit when I ordered this, how was I to see the seal is on the wrong end. As soon as I pulled the old membrane out and had the two side by side I saw the difference. I wrote to Abundant Flow Water and received the below reply. As the Watts OEM unit is available from Amazon for $34 I''ll let the readers make the decision about Abundant Flow Water''s reply... I''m sticking with the Watts OEM membrane from now on.

REPLY >>>"Those are different. That is one of Watts weird units, they make a couple that are a lot different than the industry standard. We do not stock that particular membrane. We can order it in, the cost on those are $69.50

If you want to order one, give me a call with payment info. Also, if you have a part or model number on the watts membrane, that will be helpful in getting the correct size."

Melitta 46894 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker Save 50% Off

Melitta 46894 10-Cup Thermal CoffeemakerAs a person who considers himself a bit of a coffee connoisseur, I would like to shed some light on criticisms I found to be consistent amongst the less glowing reviews. I think some people who purchased this machine are a bit unfamiliar with the advantages versus traditional (glass carafe) brewers. They are mistaking some of the positives for negatives. I hope this helps current and potential buyers, as for the price (or even for more money) you''d be hard-pressed to find anything better. Allow me to explain...

STAINLESS STEEL CARAFE: A double insulated carafe (as found on the Melitta) serves to keep the coffee warm without a warming plate following the brewing cycle. Though the coffee does lose heat over time, you will not lose any taste. Glass carafes require a warming plate that keeps coffee at a consistent temperature by essentially cooking it. In other words, your coffee will taste horrible not long after the brewing cycle has finished. Imagine keeping your coffee on a low-flame stove burner all morning!

COFFEE TEMPERATURE: There is an accepted optimal brewing temperature for coffee of between 195-205°F. The Melitta is designed with this in mind. Other coffee makers are not. If you brew coffee at too high a temperature, you cook and over-extract the grinds. This results in a bitter taste.

FILTER BASKET: This is a cone-shaped basket instead of the more common flat-bottomed basket. The cone shape allows the water to contact the grounds for longer and create a fuller brew. Also, it is highly advisable to use unbleached paper filters versus reusable mesh ones. The paper filters absorb much of the acidity resulting in a smoother tasting coffee. Having used the permanent gold-tone filters in the past, I can say from experience they simply don''t work as well.

YES YES YES! Finally a working coffee pot that wasn''t designed/built by total morons!

A coffee maker should do the following:

1. Make coffee into a pot (not on the counter)

2. Make hot coffee (listen up mr coffee!)

3. Actually pour coffee out of the carafe! (again something mt coffee hasn''t figured out)

4. Actually brew the entire filters worth of grinds and not just part of the grinds

5. Not cost an Arm and a leg.... It''s a simple appliance

After going through 6 different coffee makers from 4 different mfg''s I finally found one that meets my extremely picky 5 requirements (sarcasm) this maker is the ONLY one that does!

I bought this from Abe"s of maine. I usually don''t write reviews but I did a lot of research and have waited a long time to buy another coffee maker since my Philips Thermal was getting a bit old.

I have tried a number of thermal units in the past and could not find one that produced hot coffee from the start, never mind after awhile from the carafe. The Philips was good, not perfect, where after my second cup I had to hit the microwave. So I came across the Melitta older version and wanted to buy it but could not find one at an reasonable price so I called Melitta. They said it was discontinued but they have a new model 46894. Now the picture is wrong here, it shows a glass carafe, the same on Abe''s website but the model number was correct so I ordered it and got the thermal carafe.

So far I really like it. I ran water thru it and it is 5 degrees hotter than my Philips and it has a hot plate which gets good and hot during the brew time and then goes off when it stops brewing. It has 3 Brew settings which must be different temperatures which makes the water pass thru at different speeds. I have tried all 3 and I can''t see there is a big difference, but I think you need to be exact in measuring and using the same coffee and amount of water. I have 3 coffees open in decanters which I switch everyday for variety.

Easy to fill without spilling water, easy to clean and the carafe is a one handed operation to pour..

So all I can say is go for it!.. Can''t beat the price and quality for a good cup of coffee.

I researched many of the coffee makers here. Every model had somethings I liked, some i didn''t and concerns from other reviewers that I had to filter. This Melitta maker (46894) had everything I wanted and it simply made sense. I''m shocked at how many models missed important features. And most of these are necessary features (no, I don''t want cold coffee or a machine that dumps coffee and grounds on the counter). Does no one do market research or test their products? It''s a coffee maker, just make a good one.

I was in search of a thermal maker because a) we broke multiple glass carafes on our granite countertop, esp near the sink edge, and b) I didn''t want a heating element cooking the coffee after it brewed. So the first bar was set for a thermal coffee maker.

The rest of the features I wanted and felt a good coffee maker needed were:

8-12 cup capacity

no-mess brewing (meaning no disaster stories of coffee spilling all over the counter during the brew cycle)

a good spout so that it pours without running down the side of the pot

a simple and secure lid

stop and pour brewing

a timer

cone brew basket, best design

no loud chime (the cuisinart has a loud 5 beep with no way to turn it off, c''mon, really?)

makes hot coffee and keeps it hot (this one pre-heats the bottom of the carafe only during brewing.

reliable (too many complaints of other models dying after a month or 3 or 6).

This Melitta coffee maker has all these features and makes great coffee. Simple. It also looks great. Well done Melitta. You succeeded at making a great product where all others failed. It was strange though that I bought it on 12/3/11 for $69. The next day it was $15 more and then on 12/13 it was unavailable at Amazon. Today (12/17) it''s back to $69. Good luck.

This is a sturdy coffee machine. Sleek looks, simple use, great coffee, easy to clean up. Coffee still pretty warm after 4 hrs. Really easy to use and clean carafe. Brews quickly enough, and produces piping hot coffee. Brew strength is a nice way to use less coffee and extract more flavor... more noticeable with fine grounds. Bonus, you can make iced coffee with this one! Fill the carafe with ice, double coffee grounds, and brew (directions are in the manual). YUM! Very bright blue LED for those who care, no bother to me. I read about all the others available Dec 2011, and this seemed the best bang for the buck! I recommend a burr grinder for excellent flavor! No burnt coffee taste at all. BUY IT!

Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee Press Save 11% Off

Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee PressI''ve had one of these press pots and have used it for about 5 years. The description says it keeps coffee warm for hours. This is not quite right. It will keep it drinkable for an hour (the press pot is not double hulled like nissan thermouses). I transfer mine directly after pressing into a nissan thermous. My press pot has been used daily and it is as good as new. I don''t under stand why people buy the glass one press pots. This nissan will last forever! The mesh screen does get worn, but mine is not so bad I''d replace it.

I drink my coffee stronger than average, okay, my husband calls it "Jet A" (the fuel used for jet engines) and I''ve never been happy with these automatic drip coffee makers. It came down to a professional espresso thousand dollar job or this little Nissan and I couldn''t be happier with it and the 9 bills I saved buying it. While some say it doesn''t keep coffee hot for very long, well how long does it take 2 people to drink 2 cups of coffee each? I just fill the pot with hot tap water while waiting for the kettle to boil and this keeps the coffee hot enough. Much better than that burnt taste of coffee left on a heating element.

I work in an office that does not allow individuals to have their own coffee machine due to fire concerns. Rather, they offer free coffee (ahem, if THAT stuff could be called anything other than hot colored water).

So, the french press is the way to go, and this thermos keeps the coffee hot just long enough for me, which is about 2 hours (don''t know why they claim 6 hours, mine is OK for 2-3 hours). I have seen some negative reviews of this product, and I think those folks need to take a minute to work with the product a bit more. Here are my recommendations:

1. If it leaks coffee grinds, then look at the screen. There should be NO bends in the screen along the coil. This is where coffee grinds can leak through. Nissan should replace the screen for you free of charge if you receive a defective screen, which is not all that uncommon. You can also buy replacement screens at local kitchen supply places.

2. If you don''t like the super-fine grained coffee that still gets through (I am like this), then do what I do. I place a regular paper coffee filter on top of the grinds prior to placing the screen on top. This does a fantastic job for me. It slows the press a lot, but the extra 10 seconds of press time is worth it in my mind.

3. Rinse the thing with HOT water prior to adding your coffee water. It makes a difference in my experience and helps make for a hotter cup of coffee.

4. Make sure the water you use is HOT. Be careful of some office coffee machines that have a hot water tap on them. This is usually not hot enough for coffee. You may want to use a separate container for microwaving your water to boiling hot before pouring into this container. This is true for all french presses, but the added thermal capacity of this stainless steel model cools the water slightly, so it helps.

5. Between pours, rotate the lid closed so that it is sealed off and won''t cool down as quickly. I usually forget to do this, but when I remember, I get warm coffee for almost 3 hours.

In summary, I get fantastic coffee with mine. For those of you that don''t, maybe try a few of these tips.

I would give this 5 stars, but I believe they ship too many of these with faulty screens that need replacement (the small bends in the screen near the coil can let grinds come through). This is a minor complaint for the price, though, as replacements are readily available if you don''t want to wait for Nissan to send you a replacement.

I bought this coffee press about two years ago and I love it. Makes a great cup of coffee. Easy to clean, usually I hand wash it but about once a week I toss it in the dishwasher. (They say to hand wash it only, but it seems to do fine in the dishwasher.)

I find that it keeps coffee warm enough for a couple of hours. Maybe not as fun as the see-through glass coffee presses but I like the extra insulation.

Want Thermos Nissan 34-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless-Steel Gourmet Coffee Press Discount?

I went through several glass presses before seeking out a metal one I couldn''t break. I''ve been using the Nissan a month now and am completely happy with it. I''d like to address a couple of issues I see other people raising.

Some have said it''s not a double-walled thermos. It IS. However, the lid is a single (thick) layer of plastic. You can ''seal'' it by rotating the lid so the spout is fully closed, but it''s not as insulated as the rest of the press, and it doesn''t screw on. What I can''t say is how long it would keep fresh-pressed coffee hot, because I wouldn''t think of trying to store it. Coffee made in a french press should be consumed IMMEDIATELY. It doesn''t keep, hot or cold. You want coffee you can drink three hours from now -use a drip coffeemaker. The oils that make french pressed coffee taste better than drip also give it a short lifespan. So make what you need, and drink up; it''s easy enough to use that making it fresh isn''t a hassle.

I''ve seen some reviews expressing concern that the mesh is defective, the wrong size, or hard to replace. I have the leftover parts of several other presses to compare it to, and I can state categorically that the mesh is a standard size, exactly the same as every other mesh on the market. I''ve held this mesh up under a strong light next to two other brands -they are identical and completely interchangeable. Same size, same material, same make. I wonder if there''s really only one manufacturer and they just sell them to all the makers of french presses to re-brand and resell.

So if you''re worried about finding a replacement mesh when the time comes, don''t fear. You can replace it with the Bodum that can be ordered here at Amazon, or another one you buy, or the old mesh from your Starbucks or Bodum or other press whose glass canister you broke. As long as it''s a standard-sized french press (and most of them are) you''ll be fine.

Several people have complained about the "ill-fitting" mesh letting coffee grounds through. I have to wonder if something they''re doing is causing that. It hasn''t happened to me even once. No kinks, tears or buckles in the mesh, no loose grounds (at most a couple of strays--a few can get by in any press); after approximately 70 uses, mine still looks like new. Perhaps the people having trouble are shoving the plunger down hard and fast, as actors often do for dramatic effect on TV. Folks, don''t do that; the plunger exerts pressure that has to be released somewhere. Tap the canister gently on the countertop a time or two to let the grounds fall on their own, then depress the plunger slowly and evenly. This is true for any press, not just this one; even more so for glass models, because the pressure from a too-swift plunger can cause the glass to explode.

Some cheaper presses have a plunger that is partly plastic; they are flimsy and break easily. This one is all steel and heavy-duty. The plunger shaft, embedded through a close-fitting punched-out hole in the plastic lid, moves freely up and down, but isn''t going anywhere. It''s thick and well-made. The other three parts that screw on (the mesh and the two flatteners) are identical to steel parts you''ve seen on other presses. No cheap substitutes here.

A big thing I like about this model: the dripless pouring spout. Yes, it''s plastic, but the coffee doesn''t linger there everything inside the container, where the coffee sits, is all steel. Some reviewers warned of other metal presses that their spouts dribbled, that it was necessary to put a saucer underneath when pouring. This model does NOT suffer from that. Very clean, easy pouring. The plastic does not seem at all fragile or flimsy.

To sum up: it''s heavy-duty, probably unbreakable, so you can take it anywhere or handle it clumsily without fear. No plastic touches the coffee except the pouring spout. It is cool to the touch. It undoubtedly does keep coffee hot longer than a glass canister, but can''t double as a regular thermos because the lid is single-layer and the plunger is not detachable from it. So, if just getting a thermos is your priority, this isn''t the item you''re looking for. (I would have given it five stars if it had had a spare insulated, non-plunging lid so it could double as a regular thermos.) Plunger is thick, all-metal and probably the same manufacture as other popular brands. Mesh is industry standard size/make and easily replaceable. No-drip pouring. Handle, lid and spout are heavy, thick plastic. Burnished stainless steel finish. What else is there to know? I love mine.

Aquasana AQ-4601.55 Premium Under Counter Water Filter System Save 24% Off

Aquasana AQ-4601.55 Premium Under Counter Water Filter System
  • Aquasana drinking water filters remove more contaminants at the best value
  • Filters water under pressure over more than two million square feet of material
  • Latest model featuring easy-change cartridges, a reinforced housing and a new diverter
  • Installs in minutes without the need for a plumber
  • Aquasana is less expensive than pitcher filters

To those of you who are considering this filter, but are hesitant like I was because of the comments complaining that it runs too slow, please let me describe the experience I had when I bought this filter.

I considered RO systems. My parents system worked great. But it dumps eight gallons of water as waste for every gallon of drinking water. I mentioned this to my mom, and she said, "THAT''S why my water bill is so high!"

Other systems that do what RO''s do but without the vast waste of water can cost over $1000, so that did not seem like a practical option either. So, finally I decided I would try the Aquasana 4601 because the filters are better than my parents RO system''s, and the only problems seemed to be the flow speed and dripping issues mention in a few user reviews. I''d have to see it for myself to know for sure, and there is a 90 day money back guarantee. So I bought it.

Hooked it up with no problems and then came the big moment. How would it flow?

I flipped the lever.

Water started steaming out, pouring as fast as my parents RO system. I was delighted!

So, what this may mean is that if you live in a suburban neighborhood as I do where the water pressure is "normal," this filter should work as great for you as it does for me. And as far as running after being turned off...it''s just like a garden hose in that respect. And seriously if you think that''s a problem, think again about the giant, in-ground swimming pool''s worth of water you would dump every year to use the alternative.

The Aquasana 4601 is a smart buy.

Oh, and the water taste great, too.

Addenda: After Four Months Still love the filter, but I wanted to share with potential buyers mine did develop a leak. It was coming out of the second (blue) filter where it screws into the housing. So I wrapped Teflon tape (plumbers tape) around the threads a couple of times and tightened it back in. That did the trick. There isn''t a plumbing connection in my house that I have fixed that does not have that tape on it, so why not on this too. Very simple fix and still great tasting water.

I was in the market to replace my aging Amway under the counter WTS.

After looking at both the Lowe''s and Home Depot (GE) systems, the numerous complaints about poor quality, leaking spigots, and low ratings on their performance, I decided to keep looking.

I came across the Aquasana, and it was rated highly, so I decided to take a chance on it.

I purchased the Aquasana system with the upgraded faucet, an upgrade I would highly recommend.

It was very easy to install.

A small leak at the T-connection fitting on the water line tap in was solved with a quarter turn of the fitting with a wrench.

The Aquasana system is a bit unusual, as it has three water lines, and must be used with their "proprietary" spigot.

Water flows from the water line directly to the Aquasana supplied faucet, then to the dual filters, and back to the spigot.

If I''m correct on this, although Aquasana supplies no instructions on replacing the filters, you do not need to turn off the water supply to replace the filters, which you need to do with other systems.

The water flow volume is not as high as my older Amway WTS countertop faucet, but the flow rate is adequate.

Another peculiar thing about Aquasana''s faucet, which is mentioned in the instructions, is the faucet will continue to run and drip for about 30 seconds after the faucet is shut off.

It''s not a problem, just something to be aware of and get used to.

But the taste!

I''ve never had water and ice cubes taste so good!

It blows away my $100+ carbon block Amway water filter, hands down.

My Brita pitcher filter system in my upstairs kitchen pales in comparison, and is a major inconvenience to use.

And two replacement Aquasana filters are under $50, with free shipping.

I had an issue with my system, but I was very pleased with the prompt attention I received from customer service. The gentleman who assisted me showed sincere concern and quickly took care of the problem to my full satisfaction. Great customer service is worth it''s weight in gold. I will remain an Aquasana customer based on the service I received. As far as the water is concerned, I think it tastes fantastic! Crisp and clean. I live in Miami where the tap water comes out with a tinge of yellow and has a dirty, awful taste. The filtered water is crystal clear and I use it for cooking as well as drinking. The faucet is very nice looking and has a quality feel to it. The valve opens and closes very smoothly. Great customer service and great tasting water earn this unit a high recommendation.
