6 Gallon Countertop Water Filter Purifier- Transform Tap Water to Pure Healthy Mineral Drinking WaterIf you decide to buy the Zen Water Filtration System, Please make sure you buy the replacement filters from ZenWater @zenwateronline.com or make sure you are buying the originals from Amazon. There are after market filters that are made by other companies and they simply do not work as well as the ones made by Zen Water. On Amazon, when you search for replacement Filters, it brings up one that really appears to be made by Zen Water. In fact, when you search for the Mineral Rocks, this is exactly what turns up,

Mineral Stone Case Replacement for Zen Water Filter Systems

by Zen Water Online

If you notice the description clearly says " by Zen Water Online" and it is really made by Purenex. In very tiny letters, Amazon has s place to click for "other sellers" and that is where you will find the one really made by Zen Water (which is $5 Less). The fact that the product description is misleading and possibly fraudelant is not the only problem, according to the reviews I have read (over 25), the filter made by Purenex is simply not the same quality as the one made by Zen Water. Please be careful when you buy this excellent Filter. The only complaints I found about this water filtration system were due to people mistakenly buying this filter.

I buy and will continue to buy many items from Amazon and this is the first ethical lapse I personally have encoutered and I hope Amazon reverts back to keeping its very high ethical standards.

Thank you,

David

Well, I''m not sure why some other folks have had problems but I have found everything to work as intended and very well indeed. I followed all setup instructions and had no issues. I did not really need the assembly instructions, as it was clear enough to me from the picture as to how the unit should go together. My only adjustment after the first run was to tighten the faucet nut with a wrench instead of just my fingers. If you use a wrench, ensure you don''t apply too much force and crack the plastic basin!

We have just moved from a house with a Nikken in-sink filter which cost over $800 and i can honestly say I like the taste of the water this unit makes better! The unit is not too quick but it is on par with other gravity fed units like Pur, Brita, etc. However the water it outputs is much better tasting!

No complaints but I would love to see a deluxe glass and metal version with heavier grade components and a higher flow metal faucet. An in-line under-sink unit like the Nikken would be great I would buy one! The current unit build quality is adequate and is very good for the price. More importantly, the water it outputs is very good regardless of price. I would buy again.

A quick update on the filter after about two months use... I really like the taste of this water! It has a clean, dry mineral taste a bit like melted snow. We make our own carbonated water with it and it carbonates with smaller bubbles than water from our Nikken filter did. Just Excellent!

This item was very easy to set up and fill. It starts filtering very slowly but after you break it in (4-5) fill ups it works very quickly. The water is very good after the Zen filters it. I would recommend this water filter system without hesitation. I am very satisfied especially since I have elimated the need to stop at the grocery store to fill my water jugs.

I bought this Zen water filter system about 2 months ago. I wanted to give it sometimes before writing a review about it. The setup was fairly easy if properly following the provided instruction. It is best to completely read the instruction to get overall picture before get started. To achieve the best result, the filter system must be setup as instructed. This part took quite a bit of my time. Then, it took almost 8 hrs for all the water to get through the filter system. I discarded the first two cycles. The set up process is a bit of hassle, but at the end you have a clean and delicious mineral drinking water. Zen water system reduces the waste of plastic bottle, which helps to save us money as well as our environment. Overall, it is a great product at fairly low cost!!!

After reading many of the reviews here, I was worried that maybe this was not a smart purchase... WRONG! Just follow the directions and you will be VERY HAPPY. This filter turns my city water into "Spring Quality" water. No more sediment and chlorine after taste. The ceramic filter really removes a ton of sediment. I''ll be purchasing a Zen Filter for my water cooler very soon! This sure beats lugging bottles!!!

Mr. Coffee FTX41 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Save 20% Off

Mr. Coffee FTX41 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Stainless SteelThis model (FTX41) is functionally equivalent to the FTX49, the only difference being that the FTX49 has a dark red trim whereas this one has a brushed stainless steel look. The FTX49 is less prone to noticeable fingerprints on that portion of the unit. That''s where the differences end.

I purchased this coffee maker at the recommendation of a friend and I''m really happy with it. It has a selectable brew strength, a defeatable audio alarm that beeps when brewing is complete, a clock, and a delayed brew timer.

The delayed brew timer is nice to have if you want to wake up in the morning with a pot of coffee waiting for you. I''ve used the feature a few times, and I like having it, although most of the time I grind my own beans, so I don''t like to let the grounds sit in the coffee machine overnight because they can get stale. Of course, that''s unavoidable unless you spend the extra money on a machine that also grinds beans before brewing.

This coffee machine comes with a permanent, washable coffee filter that is sturdy, well-made, and washes out in the sink in a matter of seconds. It also comes with a charcoal water filter that is placed above the brew basket. The manual states that these should be changed every month (I wouldn''t be surprised if they last longer than that, though). The replacement filters are inexpensive, but if you already have filtered water, you can leave it out.

Another feature that I really appreciate is the Fresh Brew timer, which allows you to see exactly how long that pot of coffee has been sitting there. If you''re in a hurry, you can also pull the carafe out while the coffee is brewing to pour a cup. Once you put the carafe back in its spot, it continues normally. I''ve tried it a few times, and not a single drop has ever hit the hot plate. Oh, and the temperature of the hot plate is adjustable -I got mine set at the perfect temperature so it doesn''t burn the coffee if it''s sitting there for a while.

My only complaints (and believe me, I''m trying pretty hard to come up with them): the display, while attractive, is a little on the bright side -a switch to adjust the brightness would be nice, even if it was just a High/Low 2-way switch. An internal battery to keep the clock accurate in case of a power outage would have been a bonus too. Finally, even though it looks great and feels pretty strong, it''s almost entirely plastic, so it doesn''t have that solid "I''m going to outlast your children" feel to it that it might have if it had more metal in the construction.

All in all, I feel like I''m cheating it by giving it only four stars, but it''s not quite 5 stars either. It would be a 4.5 for me if I could do that. :)

We''ve had this coffee maker for about 6-7 months now.

1) Where does all the water go?

a) It all steams out the back. Therefore, you have to put in more water than what you want to end up with in your finished pot.

b) It leaks out the hole in the back of the coffee maker leaving a constant (but small) puddle of water contstantly on the counter. The puddle of water is not large enough to drip over the counter edge, but it is irritating.

2) Why does the coffee taste not only bitter but also with plastic overtones?

a) Ok, I don''t do the vinegar clean every 2 weeks, but I do it at least once a month. That should be enough for only having 1 pot of coffee a day, right?

b) The filter basket and lid on the pot are both plastic and I sense that I can taste them in my coffee!

Good features:

1) The 5 bell alarm letting you know when the coffee is done.

2) I like the looks of the coffee maker.

3) Not a 3 minute pot of coffee, but brews in a reasonable amount of time.

Buy Mr. Coffee FTX41 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Now

You would think by now the Mr. Coffee folks would know how to make a coffee maker, but this one was apparently designed by people who have never brewed a cup of coffee in their lives.

If the carafe isn''t in just the right position, you wake up to a puddle of coffee on yourr counter and floor. Unfortunately, I cannot tell what the right position is--it just overflows randomly.

As if that wasn''t bad enough, the clock display is right above the carafe. As the coffee brews, the steam infiltrates the clock and fills it full of condensation, making it very difficult to read. After a few months of this, the clock quits working altogether and you cannot set a delayed brew. You read correctly: this coffeemaker kills it''s own clock!

I will NEVER buy a Mr. Coffee product again.

We purchased this coffee pot to upgrade our old Mr. Coffee coffee maker which is still working after 20 years. Well, needless to say, this machine is now kaput (after 11 months) and we will be returning to our old 20-year-old Made in the USA machine.

We noticed that this machine was slowly put out drips of coffee at a time, so we cleaned the machine with a proper de-liming product as directed in the troubleshooting guide. After completing this process, this machine would no longer put out any drips of water. Tried two more times and finally stopped when the machine started spewing water everywhere.

FYI, after carefully researching, I will next be upgrading to a Bunn BX-B or Melitta coffee makers as they are made in the USA. For now, it will be a relief to return to my 20-yr.-old Mr. Coffee which is still going strong.

Want Mr. Coffee FTX41 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Discount?

I had similar bad experiences with the coffee maker, FTX41,

The coffee is cold after it is first brewed

No longer brews the full pot, only 4 of the 12 cups will brew.

The lid of the carafe always comes off.

Small leak around the base.

So I thought that I would voice my displeasure via the Mr. Coffee website. That also wasn''t a pleasant experience, apparently ";" is a special character and the system wouldn''t take my comments. So I called in the 800 number. After listening to my issues, the customer service rep was oblivious to my concerns. She said that they would send me a return for the product and after they received the old one she would send me a new coffee maker. When I told her that I didn''t want a replacement, she said thank you and hung up. With this kind of quality and service, I will not only buy another Mr. Coffee product, but I won''t buy a SunBeam product.

We bought one of these systems shortly after we brought our twins home from the NICU. Unfortunately my wife was not able to breast feed and we had to put them on a formula diet. We wanted to make sure that they were getting the purest water and the cost of "Good" bottled water was out of the question for how much we were using. At the height of our boys formula consumption they were going through up to a gallon day. I will admit that at first we bought this with the intention of just using it for the kid''s needs. That''s sure changed. Here is an explanation of the whole install process and what we ended up using it for.

1. When we got the system it had great instructions and was very easy to install. I am not a professional plumber by any means and I was able to install it in less than an hour of working time. I ran into one problem under my sink that required a trip to Home Depot. I mention this because some of you might run into this problem which is 100% the builder/plumber of your homes fault and now yours to deal with. I had these cheap copper hot and water flexi pipes, that they use in some track homes, coming out of my wall instead of the industry standard valves. If you don''t know what I am talking about skip this part. This system needs the industry standard valves and I had to change them out. It is no big deal and it is a worthwhile upgrade to your house. The copper flexi pipes have a tendency to crack over time and will cause flooding if they do.

2. Once I changed out the valves it was smooth sailing. There are 2 brackets that you have to screw into the back of your cabinet that hold the filters and one hole you have to drill into the drain pipe. Hook up some fittings and place the tank off to the side and you are done. I am not an instruction guy but I will tell you that you need to use the ones that come with this. I was lucky and my sink had a soap dispenser that we didn''t use and that hole was perfect for the water tap. I tightened everything up and it was working in about an hour once the tank filled. Remember the tank has to fill. I got frustrated when everything was hooked up and I didn''t have any pressure. After consulting the instructions I realized I had to wait.

3. At first we basically used it for formula and continued to drink our bottled water. Please don''t ask me why? I am a mountain spring water guy and believed in the glorious dream that perfectly clean water bubbles out of the ground and they bottle it. My wife and I started drinking the RO water and it was really good. It tasted better than my dream of the mountain spring water. So, now we are all drinking and cooking with the RO water. Anything that we cooked or mixed that needed water got the RO water. We even got Nalgene BPA Free, of course, water bottles to last us through the day. I even got in a fight with our daycare because they made the formula as needed and used tap water. I brought them RO water every day for our boys.

4. So now I had one last problem. We were using the tap water for our refrigerator and ice maker. I contacted a rep at Advanced Water Filters and he explained to me how to connect my fridge to the RO system. I also used this as an excuse to change the carbon filter in my fridge. I figured it was time and it was polluted. I now have a T valve going from the faucet supply line to my refrigerator. This gives us cold RO water and also RO ice. The first thing that I noticed is that the ice my fridge makes is now clear. With the tap water it was always white and cloudy. I''m not sure of the scientific reason but I am sure clear is better. I will say that this was far more complicated and took two trips to Home Depot but was well worth it. You will need additional fittings, plastic water pipe, and may have to do a little drilling.

Overall I am very happy with this and everyone in our family wouldn''t want to go without it.

I have very hard water in my area (around 20 gpg, +/-), and our city has very poor quality water as well; sometimes it even smells and tastes like bleach has been mixed into it. I am quite paranoid about the quality of my coffee. I wanted a system that would remove impurities, and yet, I needed something that would add minerals back to the water to help create the right extraction, as well as balance the pH. The Artesian Tapmaster RO system does just that. I''ve tested my water both before and after, to get a good idea of the actual results, and this product does exactly what it claims to do. Friends and family comment on how good my water is now, and it makes a great pot of coffee. I have not found another RO system that re-mineralizes the water. Most other RO systems produce water that is similar to distilled water i.e., completely void of minerals and the pH is way off as a result (resulting in overly acidic coffee and over-extraction, resulting in bitter coffee). Note, minerals are not always bad in water! What you dont want is a huge amount of excess scale minerals (calcium and magnesium) and chemicals such as chlorine, nitrates, etc., However, calcium and magnesium are necessary for our bodies to function properly, and they are also great flavor minerals in water, if in the right amounts. The Tapmaster Artesian RO system provides just the right amount of trace minerals so that the water tastes great and the pH is balanced. AND, they do not scale up your appliances! Any type of water with any amount of minerals will eventually build scale in a coffeemaker to some degree, but the difference with this new system compared to my city''s tap water is so noticeable, that i dont even see water spots on my coffeemaker, and i havent had to descale it yet! I''ve had the system for probably 5 months maybe. You can buy less expensive RO systems at other places yet I intentionally did not buy one of those, because this unit here offers something that none of the others do this patented remineralization process provides better water than any spring, drinking, or other form of bottled water that I''ve ever had, and again, when it comes to coffee, there is nothing better than the water this unit produces. I wouldn''t put distilled water in my coffee if you paid me to. Why then would I use RO water from a cheaper system that produces like-distilled water? Those cheaper units rob your body of vital nutrients, as well as make sub-par coffee and tea, and produce tasteless water. The Tapmaster Artesian Full Contact RO system provides trace minerals in just the right amount (remember, minimal scale deposits), the right pH for perfect coffee and tea, and the water tastes GREAT! In addition, their customer service is phenomenal. I know I''m getting long-winded, but I''m excited about this product. I searched high and low for something like this and have been blown away by how great it performs. It''s a simple design that really works, and honestly, even though there are cheaper ones out there (again, they do not provide the same functions as this one), this model here is really not that much more expensive. In fact, for the quality of water it produces, I''d say it''s cheaper in the long run to get this one anyway. I''d be happy to answer any questions anyone has about this model, because I am so pleased with it.

We live in a rural area and are on a shared well. The biggest problem we have with our water from the well is a strong sulfur smell. We had a competitor''s reverse osmosis system for 3 years and we blew out the main element 4 times because the sulfer was destroying it. After a lot of research, I chose this system because of the included iron filter (which removes sulfer from the water before passing it on to the next filter). Not only does the water actually taste better with this system, the filters actually last much longer, which saves money. We''ve been running this new system for just over a year and could not be happier not just for the better tasting water but also because of the net savings from filters that last longer. Also, the water actually runs pretty fast with this system. If you are concerned about the quality of your drinking water (most people should be) then this is definitely the RO system you want to buy.

Want Tap Master TMAFC Artesian Full Contact Reverse Osmosis Under Counter Water Filtration System (White) Discount?

Purchased this product based primarily on the feedback left on Amazon. Needed R/O for our reef aquarium, and decided it would also save $$ on bottled water, which my family seems to prefer. This unit was easy to install (really!)... I have no plumbing background, but actually mounted the filter system and reservour in my basement, below my kitchen sink. I didn''t have enough room under the sink (not due to product bulkiness, but I have a very small area under the sink. Works perfectly, with no loss of water pressure (about an 8'' drop).

First, the instructions with this product are EXCELLENT. If you follow the directions to the letter (and you can tell they were written by someone who speaks English) you will have no problems. Also, the web site offers excellent video "how to" videos... I didn''t need them, though, because the written directions were awesome.

The unit has been up and running for a week, and is producing terrific water. The only complaint I have is the price, which is why I gave it 2 stars. The filter system is all plastic, with plastic tubes and quick-connects linking the different filters together. Someone with the proper knowledge and skills could create the same thing for about 25% of the cost... But I''m not that dude...

Despite the cost, I would recommend based on all of the other qualities.

As a nutrition conscious, quality oriented Swiss American, expecting the best and genetically geared toward superior customer service, I can be a total pain. Over the last ten years, I have bought two of these units and I am so pleased that my only regret is that Amazon doesn''t allow me to use six stars! Four years ago, when I sold my house in Florida, I used my Artesian Tap Master as a sales argument so I had to leave it behind. When I moved outside the country, the first thing I did was to order a new model. (This time, I added a little pump that maximizes the tank capacity. Not indispensable, but I''m glad I did). Since you are reading this review, I don''t need to tell you what I think about the folks who spend big bucks on unhealthy bottled water (Amazon would not print it). This fantastic little device, easily concealed under the sink, pays for itself in a matter of months. If you can tie your own shoes, and are able to follow simple instructions, you can install it yourself. Technical support is out of this world. You reach a real, knowledgeable, and helpful person immediately. One of the amazing things, apart from the excellent taste of the water (if you are used to municipal distilled water sold to you in a bottle, like it was Evian water you are in for a shock!) is that I use a lot of water (even connected my freezer ice maker and my expresso machine permanently) but have to change the filters only once a year (on my birthday). Before selecting this company, I did a lot of research. I am proud to endorse it fully!

Great product. There''s lot''s of competing brands out there that all filter water, but none last''s as long...95 gallons vs. 40. This is a no brainer! Water tastes great and saves money. Now when I taste the water from the tap, I can taste the chlorine and the iron in the water, but not with this pitcher. Also, I feel better now that I''m not putting so many plastic water bottles back into the earth. I feel better knowing I''m doing my part. Great buy!

I''m a college student and am experiencing my first quarter away from home, and away from the water purifier tap built-in to my (former) household. In desperate urge to get my hands on some quality purified water I thoroughly searched Amazon for the superior pitcher. Needless to say, Brita has gone downhill over these last years, their pitchers are faulty and their filters are lacking. There was this other fancy brand, Mavea, that cost about $5 more than the Premia, and there seemed to be an issue with the water capacity, but more importantly the quality of filtration. I thought there would be no better alternative than Brita or Mavea, when I spotted this baby, saw rave reviews and decided to purchase. The filters last twice as long as most other brands, and the water tastes excellent.I could not be happier with it, except for the lid, which you have to clasp in your fingers when you need a refill, but this does not inhibit the awesome rating of 5 stars that the Premia deserves.

I have searched Amazon up and down for water filtration pitchers, and I believe this one to be the best in terms of the quality of filters it uses, the design of the pitcher, and the price.

Want better coffee in the morning? This water filter was one of the solutions in our quest for perfect coffee (a Bunn coffee-maker, KitchenAid grinder, and whole beans were the others). Filtered water DOES make a difference, and the Premia does just what it is supposed to do. I can taste the difference.

The pitcher handle is surprisingly comfortable in your hand and gives you the strange sensation that the filled pitcher is lighter than you expect. I initially found myself dropping the top cover into the unfiltered water reservoir when trying to put it on after filling from the tap, and the the top''s slight "handle" is smooth such that it can slip out of your fingers'' hold if you aren''t careful. Wish that part of the piece was rougher. But this is a small criticism of a basically great product, and I never even considered trying a different brand. You can even pour filtered water before the filtering is complete (if you''re careful) without the unfiltered water pouring out once the majority of the unfiltered water has already met its filter fate. Now THAT is some thoughtful designing. It''s all but idiot-proof!

The Premia is an excellent product. Why can''t all products be so well-designed?

You want to hear something scary? I had these brown stains on my tea cup. I went on Amazon and ordered a culligan filter pitch and started using filtered water for my tea. Now the stains are gone. I wonder what the he!! Is in that water? This is an excellent product.

This is a nice handy product to use to filter water. Easy to assemble and use. Filters quickly. I prefer to store the water in a glass container afterwards to eliminate any plastic taste. Then I chill it in the frig. Keeps the filter ready to use later on. Lid stays on well when pouring water out.

Compact III 5 Stage Save 36% Off

Compact III 5 StageI got this for the office to use instead of bottled water. I have one at home (different manuf. but almost same setup) so I know I like the water much better than the tap, or even most bottled water. The installation instructions were a bit skimpy, but if you''ve done pumbing before and understand the idea of how the 6 filters of this RO systen works, it will not be a problem for you. I actually have an additional whole house filter and water softener, at the water main, before the water gets to my RO system.

In case you don''t know the sequence of filtration, here it is: First, the water goes through 3 pre-filters (the clear tubes you see in the picture), then through the Reverse Osmosis filter membrane (above the pre-filters), then through an optional post-filter (to remove any remaining desolved solids), then finally through an activated Charcol filter (to remove any remaining taste/odors in the water), before it is stored in the tank. The tank pressure is very good. It will fill your glass of water in 5-10 sec. (about 2-3 times longer than tap water at full).

I was very surprised how fast this one makes water (a full tank in about 2 hours). Mine at home takes at least 4 times as long. Beware that this system does not include a dispensing faucet, but I got one from the same company with a phone call. I was surprised that the faucet was not included, but they explained that many of their customers use this system to filter water for their fish tank. Ah Hah!

One last thing, almost all RO systems waste a lot of water. Like around 7 gallon for each gallon you actually filter and store. Now that sounds like a lot, but think about how many gallons you actually will use daily, and then you will realize you waste more just flushing the toilet every day! Maybe you will be clever enough to store the post-filter water in a holding tank and use it for watering, washing, cleaning, etc. This water is not dirty water, it just has a higher concentration of desolved solids.

B150 Brewer

B150 BrewerI drink coffee pretty much all day and until I got a Keurig, I used a commercial Bunn coffee brewer and ground my own beans.

My kids got me a cinnamon colored Keurig B70 about 9 months ago. Truly, if it hadn''t been a gift from my kids, I would have returned it unopened. I had read too many reviews about malfunctioning machine. Reluctantly, I set up the machine and brewed my first cup of coffee. That was it I was hooked! However, I was ready to battle Keurig if my machine began to malfunction, as so many others have.

Fortunately, my B70 worked so well that my grown kids began hinting that they would like one, too. Since the cinnamon color didn''t fit especially well with the colors in my kitchen, I began looking for another Keurig so that I could gift the B70 to one of the kids.

I decided to purchase the B150 because of the larger, 90 oz. water reservoir and the fact that it would brew 5 different cup sizes (4 oz., 6 oz., 8 oz., 10 oz. and 12 oz.). I also felt that perhaps since this is a commercial machine, it might be more durable than a home machine. I''ve had it for about 6 months now and probably use it 15 to 20 times a day between all the family members.

Upon unpacking, I was very pleased with the heft of the machine. It feels very solid. The handle is thick, stainless steel, the water reservoir is much thicker plastic than the B70, and has double layer sides. It''s obvious that this machine is meant for heavy use. The black and silver color looks well in my industrial style kitchen. It is a little larger than the B70, but not so large that it looks out of place in a home kitchen.

I really like the color, LCD touch screen. It prompts you to insert a K-cup, then you use it to select your cup size and then push the illuminated Brew button. That''s it. As a side note, there are all sorts of lovely, coffee related pictures that run slide-show fashion across the LCD screen while your coffee is brewing.

The LCD screen will alert you to low water levels and when it''s time to de-scale. You can also access the menu settings through the LCD screen.

This machine can be direct plumbed with an optional kit so that you never even have to fill the water reservoir. I haven''t done this because my city has freakishly hard water so I only use filtered water in my Keurig. In fact, I would recommend using filtered water no matter where you live. I simply keep a Britta filter pitcher next to my machine and keep it filled throughout the day. It works perfectly because I have never seen white calcium deposits anywhere on my machine, in the reservoir, or on the puncture needle. Mineral deposits will kill appliances so filtered water is cheap insurance against that. Also, it makes your coffee taste better.

Another maintenance tip is to run 4 oz. of just water through after every cup, especially after hot cocoa. It keeps the tip from clogging and prevents transfer of flavor from one cup to the next.

If you are new to Keurig machines, one thing to keep in mind is that there is a wide variance in the quality of the K-cups. Some even have instant coffee in them (ugh)! Read reviews and then buy small quantities before you buy a huge box. Some varieties I like are Keurig Wild Mountain Blueberry (seriously good despite the way it sounds), Keurig Kahlua Original, and Folgers Gourmet Caramel Drizzle. Tazo also makes some killer tea K-cups. If you sample a number of different flavors, you are bound to find some favorites.

Also, experiment with the cup size with each brand. Some taste their best with a smaller cup size and others require the full 12 ounces of water.

The Ekobrew Reusable Filter works very well, too, and I use it for a special blend of coffee I particularly like that isn''t available in K-cups yet. It''s more trouble than regular K-cups but less trouble than making a conventional pot of coffee.

You will find a wild range of reviews for Keurig machines and I believe there is a quality control issue during manufacturing. I think I got lucky that both machines I purchased function perfectly (so far). I was certainly ready to return my machines, repeatedly if necessary, if they malfunctioned as so many others have mentioned and I think any buyer should be aware of the fact that there are a relatively high number of machine failures. But when they work, I think they are wonderful!

We purchased this brewer recently and in less than two months began to have issues with it. It constantly gives a lift water reservoir message, will not pump water from the reservoir to the unitthe pump is audible but not moving any water! We paid over $200 for this unit. It was a replacement for a cheaper version that also developed problemsthought that a "commercial" system would be more durable and last. DON''T WASTE your money on this system! It''s a shame because it did make good coffee for a very short time.

If I can prevent one person from wasting hard earned money on one of these pieces of junk, than I can feel like I''ve done something good!

This is a very nice device. I especially like the display/touchscreen and the graphic interface. The images make it VERY clear what is going on as well as what steps are necessary. I recommend this unit to ANYONE who wants a Keurig, not just the business community.

There are ridges inside the chamber. This is fine for the thin plastic k-cups because it forms it bends to the ridges. Because the refillable k-cups are thick plastic or metal and can''t bend, they will not fit in this machine. This model is meant to be sold to a business. The intent is the business can sell it''s employees k-cups instead of allowing them to bringing their own refillable ones because of machine limitations. Think of how much plastic they are waisting on a daily basis. Corporate greed at it''s finest.

Carbon Wrapped Replacement Cartridge

Carbon Wrapped Replacement CartridgeThe filter cleans and removes unwanted taste and smells in the well water. The life span of the water filter is as good as other filters of this quality.

I removed the old filter and it was soaked with water and weighed about 2 pounds with a green top.

The new one when taken out of the package and said made in china and really had no weight to it.

Do not know if it will filter as good the new one but will give it a try. It was the only one I could find that replaced the T01 Omni filter. I will give it two stars because if I read that it was made in China I would not have purchased it. Additionally it is only 1/4 the width of the one My refrigerator has a filter indicator and with the old on in front of it has never indicated needed replacement. Will update this review when indicator wants me to change filters...

Crystal Quest CQE-CT-00142 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System
  • Portable 3-stage Reverse Osmosis System provides safe, pure high quality drinking water with capacity of up to 50-Gallon per day It is great for homes, apartments, office, recreational vehicles, motels, and laboratory use
  • Reduces silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other un-dissolved matter
  • Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and other dissolved metals are removed from the water by the electrochemical process They are attracted to the surface of the media, much like a magnet

Having grown tired of the bottled water scene; the expense, the drain on the environment from shipping and all the plastic containers, I was looking for a high quality product that was simple to setup. I also wanted something that I could take with me on extended trips to guarantee I always have high quality pure water available.

This product has thus far fit the bill. Reverse-osmosis is considered one of the best filtration systems available, filtering many more particles than charcoal, as well as many heavy metals and other elements frequently found in municipal water systems. While, I haven''t used it anywhere other than my apartment, it was very easy to install and fits all of my current needs.

The only issue I have is that the dispenser spout attaches directly to the unit, making it difficult to store or mount out of the sight. However, it is considered a portable unit, and I''m sure that could be remedied by a trip to your local hardware store.

I ordered this filter, which has no tank, knowing the water flow would be painfully slow, and that my house had to have enough water pressure (55 psi) to make it work. Other than the initial defective unit everything has worked out fine. It cleans up my water from 160''s PPM to 20''s PPM.

Words of caution: the installation diagram provided with each filter doesn''t match the actual installation. And the two diagrams I have seen are also different. Then there''s a third version from Crystal Quest''s web site. Add to the actual installation of my working unit, which is different from all those three diagrams, I think Crystal Quest has a Texas size confusion in the making.

It arrived promptly, the setup is simple. Please remember to find the drain hose (located beneath the filters) when setting up drop outlet end in the sink. This system functions better than I expected.

The description says to allow 3-4 days for additional processing but I received mine right away, without delay. ymmv

Installation is simple. Attach the diverter and tubing to your faucet and turn on.

However, mine wasn''t ''tubed'' properly. An email to tech support (which operates M-F, 9-5 est) gave me the tech support phone number which isn''t located anywhere else (including their website). I talked to their tech Jason who walked me through the connections. They weren''t connected properly, but something else was wrong too. Jason offered to call me back with some additional help but I got to reading and playing around and got it to work on my own.

Water trickles out of the spigot now, which is what I expected with only 2gal/min flow. The first gallons are coming out mid to low 20ppm on the TDS meter and takes about 20-30 minutes per gallon. What used to come out of the faucet was 230-245ppm water and tasted awful. This water is clean and tastes great!

The waste water comes out ~350ppm, nice to see it doing its job.

In spite of my problems I''d recommend this unit, assuming you have decent pressure. It''s inexpensive, and is relatively good at what it does. I''m pretty happy.

I was so excited to find this filter but after reading about new concerns about plastics used for water bottles, etc., I called the retailer to get more info. They informed me that it''s made with PVC. After research about PVC, I didn''t feel comfortable using this filter for my drinking water. I decided to return the filter but I was charged a 25% restocking fee and, of course, had to pay for shipping.

Whirlpool WHEMB40 Undersink Water Filtration System

Whirlpool WHEMB40 Undersink Water Filtration SystemGreat filter design cheap plastic water facet but for the price just do it. If you can''t install this filter system properly then get a plumber to do it for you, but it is super easy, had no problems with the install, but I am very handy guy. Install is straight forward you either got it or your plumber or handy man should do for you. I have this filter system for 6 months now no problems no leaks just exception water from a major manufacturer whirlpool. It did a amazing job, to tast of our water in my kitchen, better than bottle water for us. I upgraded the water facet to a better suited one to match my facet design, but this still is not our problem here. Replacement filters are hard to find and non existent on Amazon or I would give it 5 stars if I could just use Amazon to reorder replacement fllters for this system. If you are able to get the replacement filters then it is a great system with outstanding water performance and easy of use. To keep the water condition good replacing filters every 6 months is recommended, and replacing the filters are just a simple half turn away. I like Amazon bc u usually get better deal than retail, this is not the case here at $200 use google instead. Filter replacement direct whirlpool no problem, like I said earlier wish Amazon would sell it replacement filters and complete package at competitive price.

It''s unfortunate to say this is a Terrible Product. I could not and would not suggest to anyone to buy this Filtration System. Whirlpool makes great products but this one (Water Purifier; WHEMB40)is NOT one of them.

The instructions were easy and were followed as written; making sure all lines/tubing were installed correctly; slowly turning water on; etc., etc. After about 5 seconds of turning on the water valve; WATER, WATER, WATER leaked everywhere under our kitchen sink cabinet!

The brochure lists a "Troubleshooting" section. This list only Troubleshoots for water leaking ''from the Tubing''; suggesting maybe tubing is not inserted far enough into the unit.

This was not the issue we were having. We were experiencing the Gushing Leaks from the TOP of "Filter #1" where it meets the Main Plastic "Head Unit".

After going back over the instructions to make sure we follow step by step including an hour of inspection of unit we discovered a Crack inside the plastic base where Filter #1 attaches to the Main Unit.

Giving the benefit of a doubt (being a well known maker; Whirlpool) we took the unit back and return for another one.

It''s such a let down to say; that unit was if not just as bad worse than the first one. This time we again experienced cascades of Water Everywhere! The Second unit; just as before had a hairline crack inside the Main plastic Head Unit where Filter #3 attached. Only this time the crack was in the inside Top of the Main plastic Head Unit itself.

Agitated; frustrated and thoroughly disappointed in this product we''ve returned it again but, Will Not purchase another. The manufucturer needs to evaluate and resolve many, many issues in the structure of the WHEMB40 Water Purifier System.

Our water purification/filtration system will be purchaced from Another Manufucturer.

Sorry Whirlpool.

Evidently the reviewer that gave this 5 stars did not fully read the 1 star review, which stated their filter had cracks in the housing. This is not an installation problem but a manufacturing one. For the record mine also came with hairline cracks right out of the box. They were practically invisible until the unit became pressurized. Then it was water everywhere! Obviously the weight of the filters was more than the flimsy plastic head unit could survive in shipping. If you have a good one be thankful and don''t twist those filters too hard when you replace them. This product needs a beefier head unit.

We live in the country with water that tastes great and has always passed every annual battery of tests. Nonetheless, after a kidney transplant, I was advised not to drink untreated well water. I consulted with water professionals all of whom wanted to install softeners, reverse osmosis, etc. at high cost. I also trudged gallons of water from the grocery for a while. This filter system is a bargain (lets hope Whirlpool''s testing is valid and reliable.)

We''ve had the filter for a couple years. Here are key points:

1. The faucet: It looks fine, works fine, but it''s cheap plastic. Someday I may replace it.

2. Installation: It took a couple hours primarily because I chose to install it in a difficult place, not because it''s difficult to install.

3. Leaking filter: I''ve changed the filters 2-3 times now. The last time, when I turned the water back on, one of the filters was leaking badly at the top. I turned off the water, removed the filter, then reinstalled the filter making sure to do it properly. Voila -no leak.

4. A savings idea: We only use this for my drinking water, coffee, etc. I hooked-up our refrigerator water line to the filtered output line, negating the need to buy fridge filters every six months. That''s a BIG savings. It turns out that all I had to do is remove the refrigerator filter, and the refrigerator automatically operates without it. Your refrigerator may or may not do the same check the instructions.

5. A WARNING: Don''t trust the little light on the faucet that tells you when to buy new filters. Mine turns on at the end of four months, not the six months recommended in the instructions.

This filter was so easy to set up, quite literally 3 snaps and the filter is hooked up. The long part was cutting and sweating the copper, shut offs, and male adapters. After all the nessecary plumbing was hooked up you connect three shark bite type pex connectors, and your ready to use! Never had one leak from the unit and it flows like a champ! No resiviour to deal with like a reverse osmosis system, just clean purified water when you need it.

SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam Cleaner Save 37% Off

SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam CleanerI''ve had this steam cleaner for about 6 weeks and have found it to be an excellent addition to my cleaning tool arsenal. It does have its limitations, however.

The positive features is that it''s easy to setup and use, and the compact shape makes it easy to find a place to store it when you''re not using it. Setup is a snap just attach the handle using one screw, and the manufacturer is thoughtful enough to provide an extra long, thin screwdriver since the handle screw is recessed. Nice touch. Also comes with a lot of attachments for pretty much anything you''d want to clean (grout lines, counter tops, floors, windows, BBQ grills, etc.).

The biggest plus is the price. I''ve looked at steam cleaners for years, but was always put off by the steep price tags. Some of the high end European models run $1,500 or more for that kind of money, I''d rather pay someone to clean for me! So, a low price is a big plus.

BUT, this low of a price means you''re not getting the functionality of a high end machine. For example, the steam is pretty wet, and you''ll also get a big dribble of water when you start up after pausing for a few moments. The tank is rather small, and you can''t add more water without letting it cool down first. The attachments are OK in terms of function, but wear at a fairly fast rate. Build quality is good for the price paid, but you''ll need to take care that you don''t damage the wands since they are all plastic.

All in all, however, I''m happy with this. It makes it much easier to clean grout lines on my kitchen counters and floors, which is the main reason I got it. Again, it''s not magic you still need to put some work into it, but it''s much, much, MUCH easier than using a scrub brush. What works well for me is to spray on some grout and tile cleaner first, let it set for a moment, then hit it with the steam. Wipe up with a clean microfiber towel and move on to the next section. I can do an entire room in the time it used to take me to do a small area with my trusty scrub brush.

I''ve also have had good results using it to clean soap scum off tiles and shower doors, getting in the nooks/crannies around faucets and toilets, and cleaning drips/spills in the oven and on the range top. Light to moderate dirt/grime comes up with just steam. More intensive messes (or ones that are very greasy) need to be sprayed first with a spray cleaner (409, Fantastic, or whatever brand you like) to help the steam do its work.

And remember, it just sprays steam it does not suck it back up like a carpet cleaner. Keep a towel handy to wipe up the water and loosened dirt. Microfiber works best, but any absorbent rag will do.

Couple of points to keep in mind:

1) Use distilled water, especially if you have hard water. A build up of scale/mineral deposits will kill a steam cleaner very quickly.

2) Wear ear plugs if you''re working in a small room (such as a bathroom). The noise level can really get to you after 20 minutes or so.

3) There''s another model made by McCulloch that is exactly the same as this except that it has a slightly longer hose and a different colored casing. Pick whichever one happens to be on sale/best price they are functionally identical.

I have owned and used steamers for several years. I purchased this to replace my older Delonghi Steam Clean Plus and here and overall found the unit produced consistent steam but lacking in pressure somewhat compared to my older model. I actually purchased the steam cleaner from a warehouse club and it had a very nice selection of accessories including an extension rod hanger that allows you to steam garments on a hanger extending from the top of the extension rod. Basically the steamer is the same as this model 275 in terms of boiler, wattage, basic design.

The unit did warm up fairly quickly and I was impressed with the quality of the accessories, using thick plastic, good quality rubber seals etc. This model I think would work well as doing primary duty as a clothes steamer but its lack of pressure make it not the best choice for blasting nooks and crannies, where a really good steamer excels as a cleaning maching no other device can touch.

Let me explain. I compared this steamer with the Saeco Piccolo steamer and with a high quality thermometer recorded the Saeco at about 190 degrees and the steamFast at about 170-180 degrees. Secondly I put a paper cup on the floor and with both machines heated up with a full tank of water, I pointed the nozzle at the opening of the cup to see which model would blow the cup the farthest. The SteamFast product blew the cup about five feet. The Piccolo blew the cup 15 feet and probably would have kept going if it was not for the wall stopping it. Not even remotely close.

Next I took both steamers out on my deck and pointed the nozzles at a hose that "overwintered" on my deck....complete with black moldy stains hiding the normally greeen hose. The SteamFast product blew steam at the hose but it did not really eliminate the moldy stains.

Next tried the Piccolo...WOW....this sucker blasted those stains down to fresh green hose.

Test over. Note: I also tried the same test with a Euro-Pro Shark Steam Blaster Ultra with similar results to the Chinese made SteamFast product.

I will add some more details in my review of the Saeco Piccolo. Needless to say, I returned the SteamMax.

Let me say, I think the overall positive results for this product are not surprising to me considering most users have not probably used an Italian made steam cleaner which seem to have hotter steam vapor, far more pressure, a longer track record of using similar technology in espresso machine manufacturing, etc. The downside of the Italian products is that it might be a bit harder to find parts and service for since they are not produced for the mass market like the steamFast and shark products. It''s too bad as I really wanted the SteamFast or Shark to perform better.

Honestly if you don''t make the comparison between the Piccolo or similar italian made steamer and the SteamFast, you may think you are getting a great product as it will produce consistent steam...but you won''t be aware of HOW MUCH MORE YOU COULD DO with the serious pressure levels of the Italian steam cleaners. I hope some other people do some comparisons.

It was kind of fun to be my own consumer reports for the last few weeks, but I am a huge fan of these cleaners and their many uses. Most Americans have not caught on to what the Europeans have known for years.

I hesitated to purchase a steam cleaner so I read many reviews including McCulloch MC-1275 steam cleaner reviews. I decided to purchase MC-1275 and then I found SF-275. Both have very similar looks and spec. I think both models are the same one. Anyway, SF-275 was $30 cheaper than MC-1275 so I purchased this one.

I use this for cleaning my shower room. It works! but don''t expect magic. It takes time to clean old stains. Steamer is really good on narrow areas (between tiles). It is extremely difficult to clean between tiles with other cleaners but steamer is really good. I tried to clean deck chairs. The chairs have some mildew stains and I didn''t expect the steamer can clean it but the stains were disappeared.

The build quality is good. I just wish they improve the switch for continuous steam. It is very small. I recommend to use the distilled water only.

I recommend this steamer to any one looking for high quality steamer.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy the SteamFast SF-275. I wanted an all purpose steamer in the $89-125 range. I''m glad I did my homework. There were a few other steamers I might have bought but this one came so highly recommended by nearly everyone who left a review on every site.

Having never used a steamer before I didn''t know what to expect. I can tell you now, though, I have not been disappointed! This little guy is great. I''ve cleaned tough mildewed shower grout, mild rust spots off the bathroom counter, got rid of a mildew odor from the bottom of my couch, steamed all bedroom pillows to get rid of dust mites and other allergins (it really works great), and finally got my 25+ year-old kitch floor looking like new! It really does do just about everything.

You do have to do quite a bit of scrubbing when you clean a dirty area for the first time and this is the ONLY reason why I give it four stars. I suppose that''s to be expected, but after the initial elbow grease, keeping it maintained is as easy as "wanding" and wiping. No chemicals!!!

Here''s a few tips/recommendations to help you when you use it:

* Buy a pair of heavy latex or rubber gloves. I bought a pair that are used for paint stripping. Be sure that they are comfortable enough to bend your fingers and wear for an extended period of time. This will help prevent accidental steam burns. DO NOT think that because you are wearing gloves that you can expose your gloved hand to the direct steam.

* I have allergies to mold and mildew. When you use steam to clean you are blasting it with hot water and killing it but the spores could become airborne or be released in the steam itself. I find it best to wear a mask that is made for mildew/mold. If you can''t afford the $30+ model even the just above basic paper mask, that is thick and has a filter, works very well.

* Be sure to keep the area well ventilated. Steam isn''t poisonous like chemicals but the room will start to get humid if you don''t.

* Don''t ever, EVER use warm or hot water on cat urine. This will set the smell. Avoid using any steamer on carpets that have had kitty accidents. Also, if you have hardwood floors under your carpets, even if you''ve had no pets, I''d skip this too. Unless the hardwood floor has had several layers of shellack before the carpet was installed pet ordors can still be draw up. Even if there hasn''t been an animal in the house for 10-15 years it''s possible.

* Be sure to sweep the floors and remove any loose dirt from surfaces before you steam. There''s nothing like trying to wipe up extra "gunk."

I hope those help out. I love this steamer and I think you will too!

Full Circle Reach Bottle Brush, FC10112

Full Circle Reach Bottle Brush, FC10112I use this on my coffee mug I take in the car, my water bottle for the gym and my baby bottles. This is one handy brush! It works better than other bottle brushes because it cleans inside and out at the same time. You can squeeze the handle and really get some leverage around the rim to clean off coffee and lipstick stains. I love that this is dishwasher safe as well. It has lasted forever! I highly recommend this brush.

I found the brush to be very useful and very well made. You can mold the wires holding the bristles enough to get a good cleaning but they aren''t so flexible they provide no scrubbing power. The bristles are harder than a baby bottle brush but softer than the pan scrubbing brush I own, so it''ll get out stuck in residue but shouldn''t damage typical coffee mugs and bottles.

Buy Full Circle Reach Bottle Brush, FC10112 Now

I have only used this for baby bottles, but I think the issues I have would be frustrating for any use. The number one issue I have is that the longer brush unscrews from the handle when you use it. I have to screw it back in between each bottle. Secondly, the bristles have flattened after only moderate use. Lastly, because of the two sided design (which doesn''t really help, I still wash the outside of the bottles with a sponge), you can''t angle the brush to clean one side or the other. I''m not sure if that makes sense, but its annoying.

Maxwell House Master Blend Ground Coffee, 1.1-Ounce PackagesThis is a good, everyday, go-to coffee. The size is meant for a 10 cup coffee pot, or if you like your coffee a little on the light side. I really thought I was getting the prepack with it already in a filter, not loose coffee. Was very disappointed. Seller should really specify this.

TriStar SB Steam Buggy Home Steam Cleaner

TriStar SB Steam Buggy Home Steam CleanerI am definitely glad I made this investment. The product truly cleans as shown on the infomercial. I am chemical-sensitive and this makes cleaning a health hazard for me. The Steam buggy provided healthy option to clean and sanatize my home!

I had purchased the Eureka HotShot prior to ordering the Steam Buggy, and though this product was effective, the resevoir was much smaller and would only steam clean for 3 to 4 min. and I had to refill 3 times more often with HotShot vs. Steam Buggy.

Steam Buggy is fairly light and easy to tote. The attatchments are much easier to change than on HotShot. At first use, SB was a little cumbersome, but one I got the hang of it, cleaning was a breeze!

An added benefit:

While cleaning, you inadvertantly get a sauna and facial at the same time! =)

At first I was skeptical about the Steam Buggy--I had watched the infomercial, and it just seemed too good to be true. I decided to give it a try and couldn''t have been more pleased. Using just water, the Steam Buggy has powered through all sorts of grease and gunk inside and outside my house with NO effort on my part. It even has an attachment for cleaning floors, which makes short work of my dogs'' muddy foot prints and my baby daughter''s food spills.

The only thing that I would change about it is that there is no way to quickly make the steam stop. Even if you turn it off, the steam and hot water continues to come out for a few minutes.

Buy TriStar SB Steam Buggy Home Steam Cleaner Now

I had read good things about Steam Buggy and it worked OK for the half dozen or so times I did use it. I used it to get off wallpaper but it did leak so I burned my hand with the hot water. Tightening the attachments didn''t help. I also used it to steam clean my stairs and it worked fine. I didn''t use it for about 4 months and when I tried to remove the cap, it was impossible to remove. I had to take it to my auto mechanic and even with his tools, he couldn''t remove it without breaking it. I''ve noticed other reviewers talk about the cap breaking. TriStar is impossible to get in touch with. I tried calling for days to no avail. I''m tossing Steam Buggy and buying the McCulloch MC-1275 Steam Cleaner since it got good reviews on this site. If you get a Steam Buggy, remove the cap when storing it, especially if you don''t use it often.

I bought this product about 8 months ago. I use it on almost everything. The worst thing I hate to clean is the toilet and the stove, because it involves a hole bunch of scrubbing. With the steam cleaner you just aime and wipe. I had a really dirty oven and I used the steam buggy and did a little scrub and then wiped and it was clean. It passed my own mothers inspection she is a clean freek. So overall it works great and saves money on buying cleaning products.

DirtTamer® Supreme V2400 Cordless Wet/Dry Hand Vac Save 3% Off

DirtTamerĀ® Supreme V2400 Cordless Wet/Dry Hand VacOwned the DirtTamer "Deluxe" now for about 4 or 5 years. Needed to replace the rechargeable battery once about a year ago, but that is fairly par for the course, considering that I use it nearly everyday in my office, and in the car. Suction power is pretty amazing for a cordless, and better than the Dust Buster I tried. Also, easy to clean, which is nice. While it won''t match the suction power of a plug-in-the-wall type vacuum, I think this is as good as it gets for a cordless.

Stands head and shoulders over the normal hand vac. We keep it by the fireplace for daily use in the winter....for all the rug & hearth debris. Great power, pulls up everything, large or small, has solid weight, useful tools tucked into its dock. It doesn''t discharge air sideways when cleaning, returns to a dock for recharging and its next use. (We keep it flat on the floor right to the side of the woodbox). It''s a high 5.

We have an 8 year old V2100 model...and it''s great. Nearly daily use, never replaced the battery (which I see is lead-acid, not NiCd) which still holds a charge fine, and still a strong vacuum. But, the last few months it doesn''t reliably turn on. So, while I''ll probably pull it apart to see if I can fix it, I''m also looking at their newer models. We had a Dirt Devil before the V2100, the DD was so useless I quickly gave it to a thrift store and picked the Dirt Tamer randomly...extremely pleased with it. I wouldn''t consider another brand, and glad to see this quality hand-vac company is still making them. Engineering wins over marketing! American automobile companies will never understand this.

Followup: Got the new model for house use, the old model with the wonky switch retired to the garage. The new model is even better: stronger vacuum, LED light, seems a little lighter, includes HEPA filter. Filterstream improved on an already great hand vac.

Followup 2: Finally replaced the lead-acid battery in the old model with a new, similar battery from a local specialty store. It was easy to do, just remove some screws and unclip the battery leads. Now the old model works great in the garage! So not a bad switch at all. Reinforces my prior opinion that this is a great vac from a great company.

Absolutely love this product, especially the wet/dry feature. It does a great job in the kitchen with all sorts of spills and works well on pet hair.

I got the FilterStream V2400 in December 2010 and love it. With an active toddler I use this thing multiple times a day for after meal/snack clean-up or when we come back from play time especially sandy or dirty. I have the charging station mounted on the wall in my kitchen and can easily grab it whenever it is needed. It is so much easier to use the FS instead of dragging out my big upright all the time. I also like how easy it is to clean and rinse out the mesh holder and foam filter. I try to clean it at least once a week since it only takes a few minutes.

I''m a bit sad about the brief 8 minute run time at full suction, but otherwise this thing is awesome.

The battery did conk out on us recently (after about 6 months), but FilterStream Customer Service got a new one out to us under warranty ASAP. Installing the new battery was fairly simple and it is charging for the next 24 hours as I type this.

I ordered the KDF85 & 55 together and it came together in the same package, so I will write one review for both products. Years ago I installed a whole house filter using two 20-inch Big Blue pre-filter stages. The first is for the sediment filter and the second stage originally was a carbon block filter. Well anything with carbon, as you know, will get fouled with time. My sediment filter was still working but my carbon block filter had become clogged and started leaking from the sides. So I decided to forego anything with carbon in it. I went ahead and bought an "Empty Refillable Filter Cartridge for 20" Big Blue Housing," also from Amazon; you can do a search and see it for yourself.

I had plan to purchase 5 pounds of both KDF 85 & 55, but I forgot to update my cart and ended up with only one pound of KDF 85. LOL.

I''m glad when you buy a certain poundage of media they always give you a little more than what you ordered.

The packaging is a little disconcerning. Both items together were way over 6 pounds! Yet it was sent in a post office priority box with very little cushioning. The crumbled up brown paper that was to act as shipping cushioning had all been smashed flat by the heavy media. When the box arrived, it had a very large gash on the side of the box. I was really afraid the contents inside were damaged. The only saving grace was that both the media were wrapped in thick bubble wrap. I do wish they had label the bags, the only way I figured it out was KDF85 was a pound and KDF55 was five pounds. If they were the same, I wouldn''t have known. Also be careful of unrolling the media from their bags, one bag didn''t have a ziplock top; I almost spilled it.

Post Script: Keep in mind KDF55 only removes Chlorine and NOT Chloramine. You have to look at your individual city water report to see if your city adds Chloramine to your water supply. Chloramine is like the ugly step-sister of Chlorine. Unfortunately, my city does add Chloramine. In order to remove Chloramine, you would have to buy media with coconut or walnut shells in it, I believe (don''t quote me on that though).
