Ettore 61054 Wipe and Dry 18-Inch Floor Squeegee

Ettore 61054 Wipe and Dry 18-Inch Floor Squeegee with Wood HandleThis item is for residential light usage. The Handle is aluminum and is not wood as the descriptions states. The squeegee and the stick is held together by a twisting a plastic piece from the stick into the squeegee. It looks and feels flimsy. I would recommend paying a little more and go with a squeegee with a wooden handle that is tapered and held into the slot by a screw and a actual bolt that can hold the handle nice and secure. This isn''t it.

For the plastic part inside base. It is where the handle screws in to this plastic receptor inside the metal housing on the squeegee part. It just is made of cheap plastic and breaks easily. The squeegee works fantastically well however.

GE GXPLO3D Water Filtration Pitcher

GE GXPLO3D Water Filtration PitcherThe best pitcher filters available, far superior to Brita''s product; unfortunately the GE pitchers are too small with poorly designed tops and very uncomfortable handles. On the other hand the filters fit our old Brita pitchers and since they last about twice as long as Brita''s filters it worked out.

Blueair 503 HepaSilent Air-Purification System Save 2% Off

Blueair 503 HepaSilent Air-Purification SystemWow. I am shocked to say the results were within 2 hours. Current apartment has black mold. Asthma has been horrible wherever I go.. always using an inhaler and constant sneezing, head congestion, chest congestion, not sleeping, missing work, etc. I do have allergies and sinus issues, but... they were controllable and I was rarely using my inhaler until they started ripping the black mold out of the wall / drywall. I bought this to help until I move in a few weeks. I changed my mind about putting it in the current apartment (didn''t want the mold in the new air filter). So I took it to the new place. Remember, no matter where I went, my asthma has been an issue (work, shopping, family). I cranked the Blueair on Max. After 2 hours I sat on the floor to unpack a few boxes. I was noticing my breathing was deeper, not shallow from my upper chest, but from my diaphram. I laid on the floor. I could breathe! It was effortless and not a struggle. No wonder I have been so exhausted.. it had become a struggle to breathe regardless where I was. I worked in the new apt for about 6 hrs. NEVER used my inhaler. Went back to current apt... used the inhaler within 2 hours. ?!?! Until I could FINALLY breathe normally, I didn''t realize how this had crept up and was getting worse. Honestly I could cry. Because of the Blueair, I will be suing my apartment building. $400 is nothing to sneeze at (!), and money is very tight, but it is so worth feeling better.

It is loud on max speed, but it was not annoying to me. On low speed, I could barely hear it. So I''m sure the sound isn''t anything to keep me up at night.

Some have stated that this helps keep the air in the entire house cleaner and while that may be the case under ideal conditions (windows closed during the summer, ESPECIALLY in our hot, arid and dusty Southern California summers), they are really intended for large rooms. Regardless, I do agree, these are outstanding air "scrubbers."

For those that may have experienced a less than desirable outcome, when we clean the exterior grids (every one to two weeks) we notice a massive accumulation of dust (from one room, 25''x35'' with windows closed!). When we "reverse" blow air through the filters every month or two (due to the massive amount of dust being trapped by the filters, AGAIN, with our windows closed!), we also notice even more huge volumes of dust blown from the 3 filters and that is AFTER cleaning the exterior grids!

Pros: outstanding large ROOM filtration systems; ROI on replacement filters not anymore expensive considering the longer life cycle of the Blue Air filters over the typical HEPA filters (6 months/Blue Air vs. 3 months/Typical).

Cons: Windows, patio doors, etc SHOULD be kept closed, ESPECIALLY during our arid, dusty So Cal summers (but then, that would be the same with even a WHOLE house filtration system, otherwise, the only thing being accomplished is the outside air being cleaned!)

I recently received my Model 503 unit. I am very happy so far.

It has four ON levels. I normally leave it on level 2 since the sound level is insignificant. I try to turn it up to level 4 for two or three hours every day. On the highest setting, the sound is noticeable, but it is a very smooth clean sound (moving air with no rattles, etc). During my first night or two, I ran it over-night on level four. The level 4 sound worked as white noise for me.

It has been in operation for about two weeks and I can already tell a difference. The dust is gone. I don''t have asthma problems, but sometimes do get sinus issues when trying to sleep at night. This unit has improved my situation.

My unit came with a magnetic LCD remote that can be attached to the 503 unit, your refrigerator, or wherever. This device will show how many days are left before you need to change the filter.

*EDIT My unit is now over a year old. It is still running fine and is as quiet as the first day I powered it up.

First off I am amazed at how quiet it is. It is only loud on the highest setting, and even that is bearable, it is similar to running a box fan on high. However, as soon as you switch to the next setting down, it is much quieter, about the sound of a low fan or in some cases the sound AC makes when running I think this is a great setting still good air flow but much too quiet to disturb anyone. The next two settings down, I literally CANNOT HEAR AT ALL! Specifically the next one down, I can only hear if I put my ear up close to it, and the lowest setting, "HEPA silent" I had to feel the airflow to be sure it was running. This is great, compared to my other air purifier (Honeywell 50250N) it is much quieter it''s second highest speed setting is as or more quiet than the lowest setting on my Honeywell, and it is also designed to cover a larger area and has a special filter option for filtering smoke.

I''ve only just bought it and ran it one day, so I can''t say yet for sure how well it will filter the air, but so far it seems to be doing a good job, the air smells fresher and I haven''t noticed the occasional smoke order I''ll be able to tell better when it gets colder and the people in the apartment below me and around me smoke more indoors. The reason I got it was particularly to deal with the chain-smoking idiots who live below and around me whenever it gets cold they pretty much smoke constantly inside their apartment, and all the smoke seems to get filtered by the apartment building design into my apartment. I may update this review after I''ve used the purifier for a few months.

Want Blueair 503 HepaSilent Air-Purification System Discount?

For years I suffered from severe allergies to dust, pollen, all the usual airborne allergens. Springtime was the worst. I bought the Blueair 503 on the strength of other Amazon reviews and am amazed by how well it works. After just a couple of days, no more sneezing, sniffling, coughing! As other reviews have pointed out, it is noisy at the highest speed, but I''ve found no need to use that setting. By day, I keep it on the medium or next to lowest setting (very quiet) and when I sleep I put it on the lowest setting, which is super-quiet and still effective. Word of advice: Launder all of your bedding when you begin using the Blueair so you''re not breathing in dust particles that may be hiding in sheets, blankets, etc. Word of warning: For the first few days, the Blueair has a weird, but not unpleasant, "new car" smell. That dissipates quickly. Highly recommend!

Mr. Coffee ECMP50 Espresso/Cappuccino Maker Save 28% Off

Mr. Coffee ECMP50 Espresso/Cappuccino Maker, BlackLike most who purchased this product, it was my first espresso maker. And I found out quickly that hunting for these things can be overwhelming! I purchased it at my local Target for $79.99 for convenience in case I had to return it -with all of the mixed reviews out there, I was incredibly weary of choosing one! However, I will most likely not need to do so. It is perfect for all of my needs!

PROS:

1. Incredibly easy to use! Directions and trouble-shooting pages in manual are simple and helpful.

2. Compact size, looks nice sitting on the counter.

3. Easy clean-up. All parts that need to be cleaned detach easily.

4. A standard sized coffee cup will fit under the spout -not so with many models!

5. The steam feature is simple, fairly powerful, and works well. No problems here.

6. As long as you get a good batch of coffee grounds, this machine can turn it into delicious espresso!

CONS:

1. I have been experiencing a small leak onto my counter after use. I haven''t caught it in the act yet, but if I return to the kitchen a few hours later, there is a wet spot near the machine. I read another review that mentioned the same thing, so it might be a universal issue with this product. However, it is a small leak, and not enought to cause a real problem in my opinion.

2. I would suggest making 2-3 cups before wasting any milk product on your first trial. This model does not have an automatic drip feature and you will need to manually tell it when to stop pouring. If you are not used to this, you might end up with a few nasty batches on your first try. No biggie. Just watch the color of the drip. It starts out as a medium brown, and changes to a much lighter brown if left alone. I would recommend shutting it off a second or so after it changes to the lighter brown. I have made perfect batches every time by this method. This all takes place over several seconds, so keep an eye out.

YOU MIGHT NEED TO KNOW:

It mentions this in the manual, but make sure to get the right size of grounds. About the consistency of salt. I would recommend griding your own either at home with a grinder or at the store at a grinding station. They taste better for one, and you won''t waste your money on a mystery bag that doesn''t work well with your machine.

Also, it does not come with a frothing pitcher. You will need to buy one separately. I purchased mine at Bed Bath and Beyond -a Krups one, stainless, about $10? It fits fine. Just make sure you don''t get one that is too deep, or the froth wand will not reach the milk. It is a countertop model after all. If you don''t want to use as much milk you can turn the pitcher at an angle.

That''s it! Definitely more pros than cons. I feel that for the price I paid, I could not have hoped for a better quality machine. I would highly recommend this model if you want something easy and you don''t require tons of frills. If you want something more frilly, go ahead and spend $300 to $3000 on one. But I purchased an espresso maker to SAVE time and money (so long, Starbucks!), and this one''s just right for me!

I received this for Christmas from my loving wife who noticed a slight cloud over my weekends since my espresso maker went out several months ago. I had the Mr. Coffee model previous to this one. It served me well for over a year with regular use before I learned the hard way about not overpacking the grounds.

After taking this one around the block a few times I have to say I''m extremely impressed with the design improvements they''ve made. Overall, this machine is a tremendous value for under $100 (mine was $75 on sale). You would really have to be a coffee snob (and have a lot of disposable income) not to love what you get for the money (I''m a poor coffee snob.)

To sing this machine''s praises, I''ll highlight the improvments they''ve made:

1) You no longer have to remove the water container to fill it up. It''s an awkward shape to try to fill from my refrigerator. So I just use my frothing pitcher and pour directly into it. This also chills the pitcher which is good for the frothing I''ll do soon.

2) I LOVE the top tray. I store my espresso cup, tamper (from the old machine the new one is the only downgrade I''ve noticed), brew basket, and espresso pitchers on it. Did I mention I love the tray? It''s a great design perk.

3) It still heats up quickly. A little faster than before for frothing.

4) They upgraded the design of the filters. Smaller holes that all converge into one hole on the bottom. Note: Don''t put these or the brew basket in the dishwasher you''ll tarnish them.

5) The bottom of the brew basket is really cool, the single hole from the filter drips onto a silicone (I''m assuming) cone in the basket which appears to guarantee an even drip between two cups of espresso. This only matters if you''re pulling separate shots. It may be overdesigned, but I think it''s cool.

6) There''s more clearance under the brew basket! You couldn''t fit a coffee mug under there before (which is why I have the two espresso pitchers). One (or two) fewer thing to clean!

7) The drip tray has two larger holes in the middle. When your espresso is done (and the machine is off) you can take out the brew basket (it''s bad for the valve to keep it there) and set it on the holes to drip and cool off before cleaning. It''s a brilliant improvement. Also, the drip tray has a spout on it to make it easy to pour out.

8) The frothing wand swings! Very cool.

Here are my tips (echoing other reviews).

-Read the directions first! It''ll last longer if you do.

-Make sure you use the correct roast and ground size and don''t overpack.

-Play with the brewer until you figure out how long you want to brew (I count to ten).

-Ditch the single filter. You''ll never use it.

-Get some demitasse cups.

-Get a frothing pitcher and use 1% milk.

-Ditch the rubber tip on the frothing wand. It''s useless unless you want to easily grow bacteria.

-After frothing, blow a little steam out the wand so no milk dries and clogs it. Wipe the wand with a damp towel shortly after steaming (it''s easier to clean when it''s hot).

That''s about it, folks. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one. Even if it only lasted a year, I''d buy another one to replace it and I''d still save money over the more expensive models.

Enjoy!

UPDATE AFTER ONE YEAR: I use it off and on and it''s still working well. The frothing works as well as it did day one. The espresso function works, but I made the mistake of pregrinding some beans at the grocery store with the "Espresso" setting. The machine struggled to force water through even with minimal packing (Next time I''ll try the next largest size). It also seems like the seal isn''t as tight as a year ago. That said, it still pulls a decent shot. For the money, I''m still pleased.

11 months ago, when I read the review of this product, I concluded that it was a great bargain that was likely to be defective when I received it or to fail a short time later. I trusted that the 12 month warranty would be protect me in that case, but I wondered if it would be worth the hassle if I had to use it.

Fast forward: I really like the product. I brewed probably 300 cups of espresso and it worked well. Then it blew a gasket. When I called Jarden, who now owns the Mr. Coffee Brand, the customer service rep assured me that the product was manufactured at least 3 years ago and was therefore not in warranty. He had no interest in my purchase receipt, dated 11 months early. When I refused the steam expresso machine that he offered me as a "one time courtesy" and because the comparable unit was "not in stock" I went to the Mr. Coffee website and confirmed that it was indeed in stock, for purchase. When I refused the replacement and insisted that because I had purchased the unit less than a year ago, that the company should honor the warranty. The response was that the unit was not in stock, and they encouraged me to check back with them in 4-6 weeks.

I''m sure many people give up at this point and the customer service objective of not paying warranty claim or paying them at a much reduced price is realized. I bought the product and the warranty. I didn''t realize until I needed it that the warranty was not actually included. When I asked for it, I was told that I didn''t really buy it. Interesting! I''m probably powerless to enforce the warranty. It''s certainly not worth any more of my time to try. But I can avoid buying another Mr. Coffee device and I can tell many, many people about my experience.

Caveat Emptor.

Don''t listen to the coffee snobs who say you need to spend hundreds (or more) for a good cappuccino machine! I didn''t get a machine for a long time because I figured they would be too complicated to use, time-consuming to clean, and the inexpensive ones would make lousy cappuccino. But Starbucks gets expensive, so when I saw this one on sale for $59.99 I figured all it needed to do was make 20 decent drinks to pay for itself. It has done that in a couple of weeks! Following the instructions, it''s very easy to use, cleaning is also quick and easy, and the cappuccinos and lattees come out great. It''s a huge plus that you can use regular coffee mugs, so who cares that it doesn''t come with little espresso cups? The ONLY negative is that it really should have come with a milk frothing pitcher, but I picked up an 8-oz. one at the supermarket for $1.99 and it works fine. If you are on the fence about whether or not to take the plunge on an inexpensive espresso/cappuccino maker, buy this one.

Want Mr. Coffee ECMP50 Espresso/Cappuccino Maker Discount?

Okay, so there are a lot of mixed reviews on this product and if you are considering buying the Mr. Coffee ECMP-50, please give it a chance.

First of all I am no expert on this machine. I have just made my first Latte and am very relieved my machine works and the quality is what you make it as far as I''m concerned. Now understand this is my second machine! I just bought the ECMP-50 yesterday and upon setting it up, the machine only "flashed" it''s glaring lights at me and nothing more. I was a little disheartened but figured it was a lemon, and thankfully it was!

So today I exchanged my machine for a new one and yes it works just fine but lets'' look a little closer. So consider first off this is a low end espresso machine. $80... great price and honestly I don''t expect much out of this for this price range. I am just tired of going to Starbucks and spending $3 a pop on an espresso drink. So point #1...

1If you can get about 30 uses out of this machine... it just paid for itself. So if it breaks after that, who cares. Buy another one! It''s not a big deal.

The steamer is probably one of the better features of this machine in my opinion. To really have full control of it though your going to need to ditch the rubber tip and just get comfortable using the machine itself. The rubber end piece while a convenient way to help maintain cleanliness and create sub-par foam, is going to hinder the quality of your drinks... plus you lose that awesome "screaming" sound.

2-To properly steam your milk! GET A THERMOMETER! Yes you need this. Next you need COLD milk. Steam up to about 140-160 degrees depending on your preference and you should be good to go. To get quality foam you need not just cold milk but lift the steam wand to the top of your milk towards the end of your steaming cycle to just steam the surface.

I can''t comment on the leaking problem because I have not had this machine long enough but It sounds like a quick return to where you purchased it or sending it to Mr. Coffee should take care of this and all other structural/wear and tear defects. (hopefully)

So. Given my experience working at Starbucks for a few years I can tell you that after using this machine. Price does not matter. Starbucks espresso machines run from $5000+ easily and they break down a lot more than you think (also get used a lot more!) But think of this like a car. It''s a machine, it''s going to require maintenance and cleaning. Take care of it. Use clean filtered water to prevent build up. Run recommended cleaning solutions through your machine periodically to break down deposits. This is plastic, do not be aggressive or forceful with your machine. Treat it like a lady :)

What I don''t like?

-So far it''s just a minor inconvenience but turning the dial for the steamer setting with a required purge at the end is a little annoying. I''d rather be able to have a little more control over my steaming and be able to purge the wand myself afterwards. BUT the swivel on the wand is great, and I''m satisfied with the length and quality of it. My milk was the right temp (with thermometer) & did not take very long to do... and the foam was better than what I usually get handed at "the bucks".

-I don''t like that I cannot brew espresso & steam at the same time.

-I don''t like that the espresso will continue to brew until you turn the dial and make it stop. If your not paying attention you''ll overflow your shot glass and lose your crema :( very sad. Speaking of shot glasses? Get espresso shot glasses, they will indicate where you should stop the brewing process making sure you have the best quality espresso possible.

I know this is a bit long and I have a hard time reading long reviews but I hope this gives a little insight. This machine is worth the money and will be just as durable and reliable as machines that run in this price range up to $1,000. It''s frustrating getting a lemon but it happens. Don''t be discouraged.

Starbucks makes a great little home brew kit with 2 shot glasses, measuring scoop, clamps, steam pot, and thermometer for about $20 as well which is a great companion for this machine.

Oh one last thing. You can buy this at Target. So very convenient to not deal with all the mail-order delays if you have an issue.

Best of luck, and happy brewing!

Ceramic Water Filter Kit with TWO Filters

Ceramic Water Filter Kit with TWO Filters by Just WaterI would have given this a 5 star but I had to prep it a little when I received! Everything comes in 1 box, inside the box there are 2 filters (individually packed in bubble wrap and it''s own small box), the spigot (wrapped in it''s own plastic bag), 2 socks (not protected), 2 rubber bands and a small tri-fold booklet with instructions! With that said the only con I can say is that the actual ceramic filters were not in an airtight waterproof bag of somekind, meaning that if the box got a good soaking the filters would start purifying the water they were sitting in! So I took them out of their boxes, took off the bubble wrap and placed them both in ziplock bags and replaced back in larger box in which they came! I also placed the 2 socks, 2 rubber bands and instruction booklet in a ziplock bag and pushed all the air out! Now I think they''re are a lot more protected if the worst were to happen!! Either way a great price on these filters and recieved in 3 days from order date!!! Thanks Amazon for another great buying experience!!! Happy Hollidays to all and I hope this review helps you in your quest!!!

Glass Collector Container Bottle - Waterwise 4000 Distiller Save 17% Off

Glass Collector Container Bottle - Waterwise 4000 DistillerI purchased a waterwise 4000 when it was supplied with the plastic collector. Later I discovered that the

plastic collector had been replaced with one made of glass. I never really liked the plastic version

so I decided to purchase the glass for $60.00, which I thought was very expensive but I wanted the glass

so I bought it. What a waste of money! This is one of the most poorly designed products I have ever seen.

The handle being on the top makes no sense at all. When you pour the water out you have to grab the handle

and the bottom of the collector and pour slowly or the water will go in all directions due to the poorly

designed spout. The covers that go over the plastic lids spout and the collection hole do not fit properly.

Also, when you wash the container in the sink it is best to remove the handle or it''s in the way.

Waterwise has always had a good reputation for making quality products. I just don''t understand how they

could bring a product like this to market and charge $60.00 for it.

The glass container portion is marginal, it does what its supposed to do which is collecting the water from the distiller. However the lid or cover is badly designed engineered. It makes pouring the water clumsy and difficult. The spout on the glass container itself is also badly designed, which means that when you want to pour the water out into another glass contained, or a drinking glass the water stream coming out of the spout separates and causes spills on the table or counter. The most annoying item is the terribly designed plastic cover. Its difficult to take off and difficult to place under the distiller. The spout cover is the worst piece of designing I have ever seen, it barely stays on, it has no hinge, it falls off as its held by mere friction, which itself is ill fitting. I guess your consideration in buying this item is exactly proportional to how much you want to avoid HBP and other industrial chemicals leaching into your water when using a standard plastic collector.

New Wave Enviro Premium Shower Filter System Save 28% Off

New Wave Enviro Premium Shower Filter SystemI received my Enviro shower filter a few days ago. Interesting to see so many glowing reviews here about this product. I wonder how many have actually tested it.

I did. I used a Hach colorimeter to accomplish this.

I first tested my unfiltered sink water and got 1.02 mg/l of total chlorine. Then I tested my 3-stage undersink filter water and got .01 mg/l of total chlorine. I finally tested the shower water with the Enviro filter installed and got .55 mg/l on the colorimeter. The test was done on the third day of use of the filter, and the sample was taken at room temperature after letting the shower run for a few minutes.

This filter does appear to remove about half the chlorine (1.02 to .55 mg/l in my test), but I still have it''s package which clearly states "..a year of natural CHLORINE-FREE shower water..." on the front.

That is clearly not correct!! I intend to contact them about this.

I''ve tested other shower filters and they all mislead..not one removes 100% of chlorine, and some none. For me, it seems the only solution would be a good whole house filter.

Needless to say, no, I am still not getting that ''april fresh, clear mountain spring'' feeling stepping out of the shower.

jl

Well, after trying about every brand of shampoo to get rid of my dandruf problem, none of them helped. So i decided to go with this product based on 1 review it had, i took my chance. After the first use, i noticed the difference right away. My hair was soft, and after about a month of using this Shower filter, my dandruff is about 95% gone. I am really satified with this product, i will purchase another set for my 2nd bathroom.

You won''t believe how much difference a shower filter can make, & this one is wonderful! My brush & comb just glide through my long hair now, instead of dealing with tangles & hair braking off. My skin is so soft, even without a moisturizer. My soap & shampoo lather much better & I''m able to smell the scents so much better. I''d highly recommend this product!

This is the best shower filter I have tried. I suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and have Atopic Dermatitis. It is vital that the water I consume and put on my body be as chemical free as possible. The filter needs changing about once a year.

Want New Wave Enviro Premium Shower Filter System Discount?

The municipal water where I live has so much chlorine and other things in the water that you can easily smell it in the shower. Because of that, my skin and hair were just about always dry. Chlorine is added to municipal water to kill living things such as bacteria and virii, and since we''re living things, it tries to kill us too. Unlike a pool, most people shower every day at least once.

In the shower, your skin absorbs this chemical and you inhale the chlorine gas when it steams up. This is highly toxic to your body.

Installation of this filter was a breeze. I''m absolutely horrible at most do-it-yourself things, but this took me less than five minutes to install, and that includes finding a wrench.

After only a short time of using it, my skin is softer, my hair is manageable and soft and easy to comb, I use much less soap and shampoo, and I feel generally better; healthier.

I would highly recommend this filter. The feeling and health benefits far exceed the cost.

PF-2''s are useless PVC placebos so PF-4 probably perform the same?

I wanted these fluoride filters to work, I really did.

After running 15 gallons run through 2 x Berkey black filters and 2 x PF-"2" (not 4) fluoride filters I sent a sample of this "filtered" water to 3M for a fluoride concentration test. The results confirmed that these so-called "fluoride filters" DON''T actually filter out fluoride.

3M Lab Result: 0.36 ppm of FLUORIDE.

Municipal supply averages 0.30 0.60ppm FLUORIDE.

"The fluoride concentration result for the sample you submitted is listed above. This result was obtained using state-of-the-art equipment for accuracy. The method of testing is the fluoride ion selective electrode." (3M)

With all the garbage in our drinking water I can''t imagine anyone not using these. Work as described and my water is that much tastier. I have one less thing to worry about. Also, If the water system ever goes down, I know my family will have safe drinking water. If you don''t have a Berkey, you need to get one. I can''t stand the awful taste of water directly from the tap since I bought my Big Berkey. If you consider the cost of buying bottled water(filtered for chlorine taste only) and drinking from a chemical leacing plastic bottle, you''d pay for your Berkey in a year and not have to contend with PCB worries.

I use these filters because of fluorinated tap water. I have no capability for testing (working on that). However, I have been using this system since last August. It''s March and this will be the second set. I try to make this water the only water I drink. I can sense what happens when a person drinks fluorinated public water. It shuts off the thyroid. Thirst, discomfort, nausea... it makes me want to come home and drink a bunch of water from the Berkey. Seriously.

I''ve been using Berkey filters a couple of years now and finally switched to the white ceramic filters with the flouride/arsenic filters. They do work great, but are a little slower than the black filter (with fluoride/arsenic filters) and also I had to prime them three full times before they would work properly.

Overall, I like these and they work well.

For those of you trying to decide on white vs. black with fluoride filters, I think either would be ok, but here are the pros and cons of both:

Black:

Sc Johnson #70091 Sb Toilet Cleaning Gel

Sc Johnson #70091 Sb Toilet Cleaning GelWe''ve had this product in action in two of our bathrooms for a few days now. It seems to do a decent job of keeping the toilet clean but it unfortunately smells atrocious. The smell is also VERY strong, to the point that we feel unable to continue using it. I''m guessing we will end up throwing away the remainder of the gel. I cannot wait until it wears off and our bathroom stops stinking.

If they made this in an unscented or made the smell about 100 times less potent it would probably be a fine product, but the smell really is a show stopper, it''s that bad.

I popped in here to review this product because I love the concept. Love the ease of use and think it does a fab job of keeping the bowl clean. At the end of the week, if there''s any left, you can swish it around the bowl for additional cleaning. Yes, this scent is rather odd--I had to get used to it. I''m going to try the citrus scent next. Very easy to use, compact, and I think it''s a winner!

I bought this product a few days ago. After the requisite pre-cleaning, I applied it to the toilet bowl in my master bathroom. My entire master bathroom and LARGE master bedroom now reek of bleachy toilet cleaner smell. I hate it, I won''t use it anywhere else in my home and I wouldn''t recommend it to anyone. Unless you like that cleansery smell, DON''T USE THIS PRODUCT.

Not only does this do nothing to clean the toilet, but it also has a strong unnatural almost toxic scent to it. It is like a Glades candle gone wrong. It activates my gag reflex when I walk into my small bathroom. I imagine if I stayed in the bathroom longer, the smell would also give me a headache.

Each glob of gel also lasts less than a week long, so you will finish this stick in about a month. I am a huge fan of scrubbing bubbles cleansers, but this was a huge disappointment.

I''ve used these for 5 weeks now. They simply do not work. I still get red water rings within a week, just like I did without.

Mr. Coffee ECM20 Steam Espresso Maker

Mr. Coffee ECM20 Steam Espresso Maker, BlackI must confess that I spent a lot of time trying to get a good coffee maker, I had a Krups Single Serve My Cafe for about a year, I was never happy with it anyway. I am the only coffee drinker in my family, so I do not want to shop for a drip 10 cup type of coffee machine, so I bought this one.

Here is my review of this machine:

1. Build quality Yes, the knob and top cover is a bit of hard to turn, build quality is so so, but I think the inards of this machine is ok, it generate steam quickly and appear to be built with no better or worse quality than many of the steam type espresso machines.

2. Coffee Here is something that I am really surprise of, I think it makes great coffee, I run through it with three different kind of Ethiopian coffee, to my surprise, I can tell the subtle different among them, this machine produce very good coffee. Coffee is also hot enough contrary to some of the reviews mentioned.

3. Cost I think this is a very good deal considering I spent more than $100 for a single serve machine but I do not get the enjoyment of coffee from that, I do now.

4. Design it looks ok and do not occupy a lot of counter space. I actually think it has appeal of its own.

Be aware of the amount of water you pour in, I usually turn off the machine before the last drop get vaporized, otherwise, your coffee will taste a little bit overdone.

I think this is a good machine as long as you treat it gently, it may not have the best build quality but it gets the job done. I am happy.

I picked this product up at a local store for mid $20''s after getting sick of making my coffee with a stove top espresso machine. I couldn''t see spending $100+ for something conceptually as simple as an espresso machine. I know someone who got a simple Krupps machine for about $40 years ago and it still works just great. But since I couldn''t find anything else in the sub $40 range, I settled on this one.

It makes a fine cup of coffee if you just want to use prepackaged coffee grinds or you use a basic coarse to medium grind. BUT, when I tried to use a very fine grained "espresso" grind on my beans, almost nothing came out. It seems that too fine a grind stops up the filter holes and the machine just doesn''t have the oomph to force the water/steam through.

Also, it does suffer from

a very difficult to turn knob (don''t get this product if you have arthritis)

a caraf lid that won''t stay on let alone stay properly oriented

So basically, it''s good for making a medium to fairly strong cup of coffee (by my subjective measure), but if you really want something strong and sludgy, this machine won''t do the trick unless you want to wait for an hour for it to eventually push enough liquid through.

I guess now I understand why espresso machines aren''t cheap. Years of using a really simple stovetop espresso maker led me to believe that they''re really simple machines. But perhaps when you try to package it up as an appliance it isn''t so straight forward.

I have read so many negative reviews of this wonderful little moka machine, I must put in my 2 cents. First, this is a stream machine, meaning it makes moka not espresso. If you like Bialetti but want cappuccino instead of cafe latte, then this is perfect. The grind must be close to espresso, finer than for Bialetti, and you must tamp it down, but no tamper included. There is only 1 knob, yes it is stiff, but i don''t have arthritis. The round design makes it easy to handle even though it is very light. It descales with...vinegar! How about that, actually a traditional machine. The panarello works, just put in extra "cup" of water for steaming. Make 2 "cups", not 1 or 4, and always start with cold machine, or use very, very cold water. Stop the brewing as soon as moka hits 2 "cups" or it starts to steam instead of brew, then switch the knob to steam for the milk. If you don''t, coffee will taste slightly burned. I have owned espresso and moka machines from USD5 to USD1,000 over a period of 40 years. If you like moka, don''t waste money on anything more expensive. But, like any machine, read the manual, and experiment if things don''t work the way you want. Finally, garbage in garbage out. If you want great cappuccino, use good organic coffee and organic milk.

o.k. let''s all get a grip concerning this product.

it cost me twenty-five dollars at walmart three years ago and i and a co-worker draw about twenty shots a day, every day at work (backstage at a theater) and it makes a perfectly fine, strong coffee... not bitter... but no crema... it''s not espresso.

it''s not supposed to be.

tastes fine black... i use milk and sugar sometimes... sometimes i froth the milk... sometimes i heat it in the microwave... sometimes i pour it over ice and add cold milk... it all tastes fine.

if i want a real double shot of espresso i go to the locally owned coffee house and splurge every week or two.

so i know what really good espresso tastes like... as many of you do.

if you want strong, cheap, good coffee... brew it with this thing using a good quality course grind or a good espresso grind (fair trade would be nice)... don''t tamp it down (too tight for the pressure it delivers)... and it you want it to heat up water quickly turn it on before you filter your water and set the grounds into the coffee filter (a couple of taps on a table after you fill it will get the grounds to settle in).

oh yeh, and the carafe will break apart almost immediately, so i''ve used a big, low profile mug to catch the coffee for all three years... man, what a chore. ha.

as a perpetually starving actor of twenty five years this is a tasty way to get your caffeine cheaply without injecting it directly into your bloodstream.

and to all you espresso fanatics... welcome to the new economic depression...i hope you have already purchased your several thousand dollar machine, time to brew the best cup of coffee you can for the least amount of money at home or at the office for your economically deprived friends ... and let starbucks sink under it''s own expensive weight.

if not, get this one and go socialize at a locally owned coffee house when you get an extra dollar or two.

whoohooooo! i''m buzzed already!

Update:

i''ve used the thing backstage for over six years now and it is performs exactly as described above... never cleaned it... still twenty shots a day... still using the same low profile mug as a substitute for the piece of junk carafe.

i''m trying to kill the poor little thing, but it just won''t die.

oh, and welcome to the double did depression.

aren''t you glad that you are buying a home espresso machine to save cash?

shots at the coffee house add up quickly.

One of the biggest complaints with this machine is that the reservoir lid is difficult to open. The manual tells you to release the remaining pressure by turning to either coffee or steamer. Then it opens easily. The knob to select steamer, off, coffee gets easier to use once it is broken in, but I agree, if your hands are not dry, it is a bit slippery.

The manual also gives clear details how to make different types of coffees and a troubleshooter. The frother makes long-lasting tasty foam, and I found the coffee to be plenty hot. I cools quickly because there is no hot plate to keep it warm, but you are only making one cup at a time--why wouldn''t you drink it right away?

The coffee I liked in my previous coffee maker didn''t taste the same in this machine. I had to experiment with a variety of brands and finally decided on Bustello. Someone else I talked to raved about LaVazza, but I didn''t share her enthusiasm for the taste. It''s all about individual preference.

I like that with one machine, My husband can make his espresso, and I can have my weaker American style coffee by simply adjusting the amount of coffee vs the water.

I have had my machine almost 6 months and my handles have not broken. Perhaps the other folks contributed to theirs breaking by banging the coffee basket against something to release the grounds. This may have weakened the handle? The glass is thin and you do need to take reasonable care not to break it. The metal parts are not Stainless Steel (except the inner grounds basket)and I found the finish on the frothing tube began wearing off (to what looks like brass or copper? )when I used a scrubby to clean off the dried milk. I have since steamed water with it right after use, use only a sponge and finger nail to clean and have not noticed more wear.

This machine is the same one sold at Walmart as Mr. Coffee (same model #)for $25 and at Walgreen as Signature Gourmet for $20 (the one I bought). It is not going to be made with the finest materials, Folks!

It does make very good coffee, is extremely affordable, simple to use, takes up minimal space on your counter and has held up almost 6 months so far. That''s why I gave it 5 stars

EDIT It is now November 2008 and My coffee maker is still going strong! The knob is easy to turn but the white lettering has worn off. I broke the carafe by throwing groceries against it in a rush. The carafe can be replaced for about $10 but I am using a regular coffee mug. It works fine and the coffee is just as great!. Best $20 I ever spent.

UtenlidĀ® Natural Fruit Infusion Fruit Flavoring Pitcher - 3 Quart''sI bought this pitcher with the intention of giving it as a gift. Unfortunately, there were small chips in the handle and hairline cracks in the lid. I decided to keep it myself since it wasn''t really in gift-giving condition. I really like the design and find myself drinking a lot more water than before. The pitcher is easy to clean and the core design keeps the fruit from falling apart.

I saw this pitcher while on vacation in Seattle, WA and had to have one when i got home. It arrived very quickly and I immediately washed it and filled it with home grown lemons...yum. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the lid does not screw on but a half twist and does not seem very secure. Since it does exactly what I expected though, I would highly rcommended this product.

My first problem was I couldn''t open the caps on the unit which were recessed into the base in order for me to change the filters. They were sealed and stuck in the unit. I called customer service and they said that would send me a new unit with twist caps since this was the latest system. I don''t know why they sent me the defective unit in the first place. After changing the unit, I installed the filters which was not easy to install. After a month, the water pressure dropped to where I could barely get any water out of the filters. I called customer service. They told me they now manufactured new filters in which more sediment would be allowed to pass through and not clog the filters. After two months with these filters, I had sediment floating in my water. I called customer service and they sent me new filters. The final climax for me is when I tried to change the filters and now couldn''t get filter A out of the housing unit. It was stuck in there. The instruction leaflet recommended using filter B to turn filter A but I couldn''t do it. It wouldn''t move. I have now given up with this company and their defective units. In summary this water filter cost me for the unit, a plumber to install it of $300 and the most aggrevation I have had in purchasing any device ever. I highly recommend that anyone reading this do not purchase this unit. I have never written a review before but I feel obligated to inform you. I have owned many water purifiers in the past. This is the only one I have had a problem with.

I have been using this filtration system for approximately 5 years now, although the filter housing pictured is slightly different than the one I have, it has been working flawlessly since it''s installation. I signed up for the water for life plan so every 6 months I receive replacement filters automatically.

Installation was easy and completed in less than 15 minutes, flushed this air out of the system and was ready to have clean drinking water.

The water in my town has a foul smell and tastes terrible, the town claims there is nothing wrong with the water. Ever since installing this system my drinking water has no bad tastes or bad smells.

Bottom line: this unit leaks. I bought one, installed it, and it appeared not to leak. I come back a month later and my cabinet is soaked and rotting due to a leak in one of the containers. I checked out the unit and it was faulty. I have done quite a lot of plumbing, and this was clearly defective. I called and dealt with a rude guy who kept saying it was my fault. I assured him that it was not and finally he agreed to send me a new unit. I get the new unit and it leaks as well! I couldn''t believe it. This is truly a crap product. I spend a few hours trying to figure out what was wrong, and all I could find is that no matter how much you tighten the top caps, the water kept coming from somewhere around the top of the cap. The o-ring looked fine and seemed to be sufficient to form a seal, but it may be the o-ring is too small. The other thing I noticed is that the cap is loosely tied to the filter and there is some internal plumbing that may be leaking due to the weakness of that connection. All I know is that I''ve done quite a lot of plumbing and never have had a problem with a product, until now. Bottom line, the unit leaks.

There are several phoney 5 star reviews on Amazon for the Aquasana AQ-4600 Under Counter Water Filter System. They are dated feb 21, 2012, and are not s. This is in itself a red flag warning. I have not purchased this product, but have been doing some research, and found that appears to provide impartial comparisons. It rates Aquasana better than all the other brands. But after examining the fine print, which is not at all easy to find (look for About Us), it says this site is owned by Aquasana! I do not trust any such biased reviews. I will not buy anything produced by this company.

Maxwell House Master Blend Ground Coffee

Maxwell House Master Blend Ground Coffee, 1.1-Ounce PackagesThis is a good, everyday, go-to coffee. The size is meant for a 10 cup coffee pot, or if you like your coffee a little on the light side. I made the mistake of thinking that the coffee would come in individual filter packs. My mistake. Other than that I have no complaints.

I really thought I was getting the prepack with it already in a filter, not loose coffee. Was very disappointed. Seller should really specify this.
