Whole House Water Filter Carbon Block 10" Big Blue

Whole House Water Filter Carbon Block 10'' Big Blue Cartridge Included
  • Quality Drinking Water In Your Home
  • Clean healthy water "better than bottled" at a fraction the cost.

The filter does a good job at removing chlorine. My Koi are happy and I have clean water to water my collection of African Violets. Both Koi and Violets don''t like Chlorine. The input and output of this filter are a surprising one inch pipe thread. I had to do a bit of searching to find an adapter to get it down to a standard household 3/4 inch CPVC pipe. The filter wrench is a nice touch for unscrewing the case to replace the cartridge. The filter is quite large and heavy, yet there is surprisingly no place to attach a bracket or mounting hooks. I have mine hanging by the plumbing but the plumbing is supported on each side of the filter with some large angle brackets. The filter housing itself seems to be a high quality casting and is nice and thick.

Great price compared to the big store prices. I had a little problem with the adapter leaking. Make sure that your fittings have plenty of teflon tape and are a snug fit. I used the shark bites to install which was a breeze.

Light My Fire Original Swedish FireSteel Army 12,000 Strike Fire Starter Save 39% Off

Light My Fire Original Swedish FireSteel Army 12,000 Strike Fire Starter - BlackLanyard is plenty long and it makes lots of sparks (after a couple of scrapes to remove the paint). If lanyard was not long enough one could exercise ingenuity and put on a longer cord.

It would easily light propane, but if you try to ignite a piece of sheet paper you will have trouble. Sheet paper is not fine enough and is not proper tinder (though you could shred and rumple it to make good tinder). You need a finer tinder bundle. Paper towel was also unsuccessful. I had easy success with toilet paper and dryer lint. It sparks more if you slow down and increase pressure a little. If the woods are wet and you can find no dry tinder you are in trouble, which is why most people carry tinder or fire starter or pick it up on the trail when they can.

I think it is easier to use the magnesium fire starter with a basic metal jigsaw blade as the magnesium shavings will ignite paper towel easily, and can also ignite paper if you make a dime sized pile of shavings (when igniting paper don''t set the end of the magnesium fire starter on the paper as when you scrape the flint the vibrations will jiggle the shavings all around). Even better than a jigsaw blade may be a short hacksaw blade because it has a good hole you can put the cord through.

In summary: if you carry or can find/make good tinder the Swedish firesteel is tough, simple, and a good product. For normal people who want a firestarter that is somewhat easier to use carry the magnesium. That is what I will carry, in addition to good tinder (cotton balls with vaseline mushed in), and a very good lighter (more lights/space than matches).

P.S. Just watched Bear G. in Man vs. Wild (Discovery channel) use this after a major rainstorm starting a fire on the first strike BECAUSE he had previously harvested and protected some very good tinder. He did not use a magnesium firestarter. It does produce a 5,500°F spark, but it needs a purchase (tinder). Also I want to repeat that the lanyard I got was plenty long, but hey it''s just a piece of cord that you can cut. Live bold. Also the first time I tried to make sparks I made plenty. I do not see how someone could not (unless they had the metal striker upside down read the directions!).

P.P.S. Watched Bear G. in Ecuador (?) NOT be able to start a fire with grass using this because everything was wet and darkness came in not enabling him to search for better (dry) tinder. With typical Bear pluck he stuffed his shirt with the grass for insulation and kept his chin up. I bet the mag would have started a fire.

P.P.P.S. Watched ''Survivorman'' take a mag starter out into the desert and easily start a fire, but he used the edge of his knife to make shavings and strike the flint. I don''t reccomend dulling a knife like this, use the back or anything else. Also he CARVED off magnesium and I have found just SCRAPING works well. Finally on the magnesium starter the flint is a small rod on the side and you don''t whack it like in Jeremiah Johnson, but you just scrape it. I think I read one reviewer that broke his flint and I bet he was whacking it, just like in the movies.

This is a long review because this is a survival tool and you should have confidence in it''s capabilities.

Firesteel IS a great tool for starting fires. it sparks great and starts fires no problem. it took me 3 strikes to start my first fire. didn''t need to scrape the coating off, either.

Firesteel IS NOT a magic wand that you can wave around and command a fire to start on anything. you still need to prepare for a fire, i.e. tinder, kindling, etc. and aim where you are throwing those sparks. It works very easy, but you still need to understand the basic concept of fire starting before you question whether it works or not.

I would definitely depend on this tool in a survival situation!

This product is terrific.

There is a slight learning curve involved with this product that breaks down into two parts:

1) You must know what type of tinder to use for this. If it is not good enough tinder, it will not light.

2) Realize that short, very hard strokes with this is the key. Longer, slightly softer strokes do produce many sparks, but it is the short, repetitive strong ones that create very big and hot sparks which will ignite the tinder into a flame.

Enjoy!

This is a high quality firesteel and works very well. It takes a little practice and some basic firebuilding skills to be able to use it effectively. With a little coaching even my 9 year old son was able to light several fires with various types of tinder. You need to use good tinder and practice your technique to get a good shower of hot sparks right where you need them.

My son recently did a science fair project where where we experimented with several different types of tinder and ignition sources to see which was the best way to build a fire in the wilderness. We tested everything we could get our hands on in both wet and dry conditions. Everything worked OK when dry but after we soaked tinder, matches, lighters, etc. the list got a lot shorter. The lighters and regular matches were all useless. The lighters (butane) eventually dried out and worked again)Waterproof matches still worked but you can only carry so many of these some broke and some didn''t light. The firesteel and Coughlin magnesium block still worked but it took forever to scrape the magnesium block, the shavings kept blowing away, then when we applied the spark the magnesium shavings flashed and were gone almost instantly. We were able to make it work but it was a pain and dulled my knife. Some say to use the back of your knife blade to avoid this.

The best combination(s) when wet was waterproof matches or the fire steel and cotton balls soaked with vaseline and some of the commercial tinders including wet fire pellets and coughlin fire sticks. We scraped the wet fire pellets and fire sticks and scraped the firesteel to send a shower of sparks into the the small particles of tinder. The result was an instant fire that didn''t blow out easily. These things lit even when wet. I can usually get a fire going in 1 5 scrapes. The resulting flame from the tinder was steady in the wind and also lit our kindling (dry sticks, pine needles etc) easily.

We gathered all sorts of tinder at home and in the woods and found lots of things that worked. Cotton balls and dryer lint work great. Any cotton or fuzz from plants works, fine dry leaves as well. I can light shredded paper without too much work. Fine dry grass (shredded / pounded and fuzzed up if necessary) and certain types of tree moss light easily. The finer the tinder the easier it is to light. Cattail fuzz is extremely flammable and lights easily. I had difficulties lighting pine pitch scrapings with sparks but included them in my tinder nest to sustain a fire long enough to get kindling going.

Bottom line is these things work and are a fail safe way to start a fire if you have basic fire building skills. This includes carrying or gathering dry tinder, making a nest for the spark, and having kindling and larger firewood pre-gathered to build and sustain your fire once you get it started. I carry one as an absolutely reliable way to start a fire if I need one. I also carry some waterproof matches, a Bic butane Lighter and some commercial tinder (wet fire or fire sticks). Of all these methods I have the most faith in the firesteel. It was also a lot of fun to learn how to use.

Want Light My Fire Original Swedish FireSteel Army 12,000 Strike Fire Starter Discount?

This "flint" is more expensive than the magnesium bars but it is a little more convinient for making sparks because it has a small handle and an attached striker (you have to find your own tender). I did not have a problem using the attached striker as another reviewer did. I also skipped the step of taking the paint off. I just scraped firmly and the ammount of sparks was crazy. My only complaint is the price but if it lasts as long as claimed it is a bargain compared to matches or lighters.

Drano Max Gel, Clog Remover, 80-OunceOur sinks and bathtubs get clogged often with hair. This does the job every time, with one application. Really great product.

It dissolves things like hair.

But don''t try it in standing kitchen sink water, it won''t cut through food. The only thing that happened was it sat all night stinking up my house. Then I had to manually remove the clog by removing the pipes and cleaning them out, the whole time thinking about the stinky chemicals I was being exposed to.

Bathtub took 2 hrs to drain, caused most likely by trapped hair. I dragged out what I could reach with needlenose pliers, then with that flexible plastic strip with hooks. But most of the clog was too far down to snag. Nothing I tried worked neither a plunger or baking soda and vinegar or compressed air, and I would have had to dissemble the drain to get a snake down it. I had given up and almost decided to pay the whacking cost of a plumber when I thought to try Drano. It worked like a charm and cleared the clog in less than half an hour. This is an excellent product and did not damage the pipes or the bathtub. Try it before calling a plumber.

Procter & Gamble Wht 3Stage Filtersystem 515 Ice Maker & End Of Faucet

Procter & Gamble Wht 3Stage Filtersystem 515 Ice Maker & End Of FaucetI had to order this on line and pay more than I should, but local stores (100 miles) refuse to carry the product. They are trying to force other similar items on us. This one makes for a one handed operation while the newer versions require switching hands between turning the water on and then turning the filter on.

This guy leaks. This is my second try with this model, thinking that maybe the first was a fluke. Unfortunately, the second did the exact same thing as the first: started leaking, then spraying water out of a crack that magically appeared in the area of the indicator window.

I do like the filter, the water tastes pretty good and the flow rate is good. It''s just the getting sprayed in the face while using it that bothers me. I will be trying one without the indicator window next, which is unfortunate. It''s a handy feature.

BISSELL Little Green ProHeat Compact Multi-Purpose Deep Cleaner Save 36% Off

BISSELL Little Green ProHeat Compact Multi-Purpose Deep Cleaner, 14259I had read reviews for it a few years ago, and the negative reviews convinced me that it wasn''t worth buying. Why buy something when I could clean better without it? I got it as a christmas present a few months ago. It has some issues, but I''m still giving it five stars because I still love it!

SUCTION: It is true that the Little Green is not as powerful as a regular steam cleaner. But the suction is still pretty good. If you hold incorrectly, the opening isn''t pressed against the carpeting and so it won''t suck anything up. You have to make sure that the opening is sealed against the carpet. Once you know what angle to hold it at, it is easy to get it right. If you are confused about this, try it out on your palm.

SPRAYS EVERYWHERE: It sprays the water in a wide "fan". If it sprayed a tiny stream it would take forever to spray something, so the wide spray is good. If you were using a spray bottle, you''d have the same "problem". If you really don''t want to hit something move it or cover it.

LEAKS: If you leave it sitting around full of water, it will leak. Mine has never leaked while I was cleaning, but one time I left it on the kitchen floor overnight and it left a pretty big puddle (of cleaning solution, not the dirty water). When you are done using it, you have to rinse it out and put it away. If I have a lot of cleaning fluid leftover, I put the tank in my mop bucket (opening facing up).

DIRTY WATER TANK HAS GUNK AND HAIR IN IT: Don''t you ever vacuum?!(kidding). Pour hot water in there (bathtub faucet works great), slosh it around, and dump it out. Do that a few times. Don''t leave dirty water in it, or it will smell. It''s dirty water.

YES IT HAS ISSUES, BUT, IT IS WORTH HAVING AROUND: When I think of all the times I had to clean diaper blowout, spit-up, cat puke, and spilled drinks out of the carpet by soaking it up with rags, spraying it, waiting ten minutes and then "dabbing" (over and over and over again, with all the windows open) I just have to think of something else and try to stay positive. If anything happened to my Little Green I would buy a new one in a heartbeat.

I have been using it for months, but today was the day I knew I had to write a review for the Little Green. My toddler took off his diaper, "had an accident" and ground it into the creamy white carpet until there was over a square foot of... well, it was pretty horrible. If I had to spray and "dab" that clean, I''d still be working on it next week. But with the Little Green it took about 20 minutes and that includes the extra time it took to clean out the Little Green (because: ewww).

After having a baby with reflux, two cats, a husband, and ME using tan microsuede couches for almost 4 yrs, I was about to pay to have them professionally cleaned. When I looked into the cost of that, I then started looking for upholstery cleaning machines. With microsuede, if you dont remove all of the water, a horrible watermark is left and these compound over time and make the appearance of the fabric look awful. I knew that whatever I purchased was going to have to be able to remove the cleaning fluid AND clean really well.

This product not only meets my standards, but exceeds them! Worked like a charm and will save us tons of money in the future since we have a new baby coming in 6 wks!

FYI, included with the machine is an 8oz bottle of the cleaner (Advanced Stain). I bought a 32oz bottle along with the bissell because I wasn''t sure how much I was going to need per cleaning (only a few ozs!!!) and wasn''t sure if any came with the machine. The 8 oz. bottle will last me a good amount of time! Just thought I would mention that!

The machine is a little loud (wasn''t sure of what to expectsounds like a vacuum). But, it''s worth every penny!!!!!

After reading reviews on Amazon, I sent my grandson to buy locally the Bissell SpotBot Pet Carpet Cleaner. He had not seen what I wanted, and brought this home by mistake. It is the best spot carpet cleaner we could want. The power brush works well, and the vacuum extracts the filth and water, so the restored carpet dries quickly. My house is a severe test, since we have multiple pets, and the less said the better. We have used other carpet-cleaning products with this, besides the little bottle included, and they work well, and the machine has not clogged.

I was very disappointed with the Bissell Little Green Proheat Cleaner Model 1425-9 for many reasons. First of all, I thought it was some sort of "cleaner". It''s just a small vacuum with a brush and cleaning solution. I don''t know how it achieves "deep" cleaning. You basically spray the spot you want to clean, manually brush the surface with the "tough stain brush", and attempt to suck up some of the solution with the weak suction vacuum. A user could probably improve the process using a spray cleaner like Resolve, brush the spot with a nylon bristle brush, and vacuum it up with a wet/dry shop vac. There''s nothing magical or thorough about this model. This Proheat version is supposed to heat the water. It never reaches a temperature hotter than the hot water I get out of the faucet. There are some basic design flaws. The spray trigger on the "tough stain brush" is in the way when I try to apply pressure to the head to vacuum up the cleaning solution. The cleaning brushes, vacuum hose, and power cord attach to the back of the unit without any particular plan in mind, making it awkward and flimsy. The nylon brushes on the tough stain tool and the 2-in-1 crevice tool will not last long and to replace them the whole tool would have to be replaced.

My husband and I LOVE this product. With a three year old and an eighteen month old we get lots and lots of stains of all types and sizes on our carpets and the car. We had a hand held wet vac that also heated and provided steam, but the steam was too hot and dangerous for the kids to be around...it burned my hand once. It also took forever to work. But this deep cleaner works quickly and so effectively! It even got a stain out that was in the dining room when we moved into our home almost two years ago. The heat function only makes the water warm, and not dangerously hot. I only wish I had ordered extra solution when I ordered this Bissell...getting all these stains out already has me running out of the sample that was included.

Melitta 46894 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker Save 50% Off

Melitta 46894 10-Cup Thermal CoffeemakerAs a person who considers himself a bit of a coffee connoisseur, I would like to shed some light on criticisms I found to be consistent amongst the less glowing reviews. I think some people who purchased this machine are a bit unfamiliar with the advantages versus traditional (glass carafe) brewers. They are mistaking some of the positives for negatives. I hope this helps current and potential buyers, as for the price (or even for more money) you''d be hard-pressed to find anything better. Allow me to explain...

STAINLESS STEEL CARAFE: A double insulated carafe (as found on the Melitta) serves to keep the coffee warm without a warming plate following the brewing cycle. Though the coffee does lose heat over time, you will not lose any taste. Glass carafes require a warming plate that keeps coffee at a consistent temperature by essentially cooking it. In other words, your coffee will taste horrible not long after the brewing cycle has finished. Imagine keeping your coffee on a low-flame stove burner all morning!

COFFEE TEMPERATURE: There is an accepted optimal brewing temperature for coffee of between 195-205°F. The Melitta is designed with this in mind. Other coffee makers are not. If you brew coffee at too high a temperature, you cook and over-extract the grinds. This results in a bitter taste.

FILTER BASKET: This is a cone-shaped basket instead of the more common flat-bottomed basket. The cone shape allows the water to contact the grounds for longer and create a fuller brew. Also, it is highly advisable to use unbleached paper filters versus reusable mesh ones. The paper filters absorb much of the acidity resulting in a smoother tasting coffee. Having used the permanent gold-tone filters in the past, I can say from experience they simply don''t work as well.

YES YES YES! Finally a working coffee pot that wasn''t designed/built by total morons!

A coffee maker should do the following:

1. Make coffee into a pot (not on the counter)

2. Make hot coffee (listen up mr coffee!)

3. Actually pour coffee out of the carafe! (again something mt coffee hasn''t figured out)

4. Actually brew the entire filters worth of grinds and not just part of the grinds

5. Not cost an Arm and a leg.... It''s a simple appliance

After going through 6 different coffee makers from 4 different mfg''s I finally found one that meets my extremely picky 5 requirements (sarcasm) this maker is the ONLY one that does!

I bought this from Abe"s of maine. I usually don''t write reviews but I did a lot of research and have waited a long time to buy another coffee maker since my Philips Thermal was getting a bit old.

I have tried a number of thermal units in the past and could not find one that produced hot coffee from the start, never mind after awhile from the carafe. The Philips was good, not perfect, where after my second cup I had to hit the microwave. So I came across the Melitta older version and wanted to buy it but could not find one at an reasonable price so I called Melitta. They said it was discontinued but they have a new model 46894. Now the picture is wrong here, it shows a glass carafe, the same on Abe''s website but the model number was correct so I ordered it and got the thermal carafe.

So far I really like it. I ran water thru it and it is 5 degrees hotter than my Philips and it has a hot plate which gets good and hot during the brew time and then goes off when it stops brewing. It has 3 Brew settings which must be different temperatures which makes the water pass thru at different speeds. I have tried all 3 and I can''t see there is a big difference, but I think you need to be exact in measuring and using the same coffee and amount of water. I have 3 coffees open in decanters which I switch everyday for variety.

Easy to fill without spilling water, easy to clean and the carafe is a one handed operation to pour..

So all I can say is go for it!.. Can''t beat the price and quality for a good cup of coffee.

I researched many of the coffee makers here. Every model had somethings I liked, some i didn''t and concerns from other reviewers that I had to filter. This Melitta maker (46894) had everything I wanted and it simply made sense. I''m shocked at how many models missed important features. And most of these are necessary features (no, I don''t want cold coffee or a machine that dumps coffee and grounds on the counter). Does no one do market research or test their products? It''s a coffee maker, just make a good one.

I was in search of a thermal maker because a) we broke multiple glass carafes on our granite countertop, esp near the sink edge, and b) I didn''t want a heating element cooking the coffee after it brewed. So the first bar was set for a thermal coffee maker.

The rest of the features I wanted and felt a good coffee maker needed were:

8-12 cup capacity

no-mess brewing (meaning no disaster stories of coffee spilling all over the counter during the brew cycle)

a good spout so that it pours without running down the side of the pot

a simple and secure lid

stop and pour brewing

a timer

cone brew basket, best design

no loud chime (the cuisinart has a loud 5 beep with no way to turn it off, c''mon, really?)

makes hot coffee and keeps it hot (this one pre-heats the bottom of the carafe only during brewing.

reliable (too many complaints of other models dying after a month or 3 or 6).

This Melitta coffee maker has all these features and makes great coffee. Simple. It also looks great. Well done Melitta. You succeeded at making a great product where all others failed. It was strange though that I bought it on 12/3/11 for $69. The next day it was $15 more and then on 12/13 it was unavailable at Amazon. Today (12/17) it''s back to $69. Good luck.

This is a sturdy coffee machine. Sleek looks, simple use, great coffee, easy to clean up. Coffee still pretty warm after 4 hrs. Really easy to use and clean carafe. Brews quickly enough, and produces piping hot coffee. Brew strength is a nice way to use less coffee and extract more flavor... more noticeable with fine grounds. Bonus, you can make iced coffee with this one! Fill the carafe with ice, double coffee grounds, and brew (directions are in the manual). YUM! Very bright blue LED for those who care, no bother to me. I read about all the others available Dec 2011, and this seemed the best bang for the buck! I recommend a burr grinder for excellent flavor! No burnt coffee taste at all. BUY IT!

HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer Save 21% Off

HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor SteamerI received this today, I must admit I buy almost everything from Amazon but I was not prepared to wait the 4-7 week lead time to get it. I got it from Walmart for less money and I received it in 2 days with regular shipping which was only 87cents!

My Bissell Green Tea steam mop basically just died only a year after I bought it, I used it twice or three times a week and even though it was better than a regular mop I was never overly thrilled with how wet it left the floors, a sure sign that it wasn''t hot enough.

After reading tons of reviews etc I went to the Haan website to see if they had any new products and yes they did, I read about them and then went searching for the best online deal.

I chose the HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer because I liked the versatility, although I am not sure how much I will use the hand held. I assembled it in five minutes and got cleaning my floors and my 2 area rugs. The steam is very hot and there is no need to keep pressing a button, it cleans extremely well and basically your floor will take a second or two to dry, I did about 800 sq ft with just one pad and it still wasn''t soaked. I then did both my rugs with the carpet tool, that you attach instead of the pad. Honestly, I never take the time to write reviews but I have to say I am very impressed and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a superior steam cleaner for the home.

I always had a thing for mopping. I can admit that.

But nothing has ever cleaned as well and slayed my allergies in one purchase. My bathroom is spotless.

The handheld sold me on this unit. It''s as hot as advertised and I really can tell the difference. The dirt softens and after using it on carpet, I don''t know how I lived with a dog this long and didn''t have one. I vacuumed, steamed the carpets and then vacuumed again. The second pass with the vacuum required me to clean out the canister TWICE because it picked up so much dirt & dog hair. I am amazed... and vaguely disgusted.

The steam is hot enough that there is little moisture on the carpet itself. It dries in a jiffy.

However, I suggest that you do yourself a favor: go to the manufacturer website and get the noodle pads for pets. The ones that come with the unit are great. The noodle ones fill me with awe. They get in the nooks and crannies and leave no fur behind.

I just purchased this Haan SI-70 Multi Floor Cleaner / Sanitizer because I know several people who have Shark model steam floor cleaners and love them. However, Shark product durability seems to be an issue so I decided to go with a Haan which had better brand reviews. I ususally vacuum my floors and use my Swiffer which I much say I am happy with, except for the expensive disposable pads and cleaning solution. So the idea of this product to replace my Swiffer sounded great. However, when I first put together the steamer and tried it out (I did vacuum the floors first), I noticed that it left my porcelain tile floor very streaky and not that clean-looking. I took a clean white damp rag and passed it over the floor and the floor was still significantly dirty. I then decided to go over the whole floor with my trusty Swiffer and the pad quickly became extremely dirty with dirt that the Haan steamer had left behind. Also, the Haan pad wasn''t getting very soiled so I knew that it wasn''t actually picking up any dirt or actually cleaning the floor. I decided to wash and air-dry the pads, thinking maybe they had some manufacturing residue that was preventing them from picking up dirt. The next day I tried again, this time with Distilled water in case my water had a high mineral content that might be causing the streaks. I repeated the whole process, vacuum, steam mop, go behind it with a wet clean white cloth and then Swiffer the floor. The floor was still dirty. I want to note that the steamer was making some steam and was making the floor damp, but just wasn''t picking up dirt not actually cleaning the floor. I called Haan customer service because I figured either I was doing something wrong or I had a defective unit. The lady I spoke to actually told me "well, our floor steam cleaners are not actually supposed to CLEAN floors. They mainly just sanitize your floors to kill germs and bacteria. It will probably soften up your dirt, but NOT ACTUALLY CLEAN YOUR FLOOR." WHAT???

Just wanted you to be aware. I am returning this in the morning. I don''t care if I have to pay shipping costs to send this back. A floor steam cleaner/sanitizer that doesn''t actually clean floors doesn''t have any place in my house. I certainly don''t have time to vacuum, then mop, and then go over my floors with a sanitizer! I am going to get the exact model of my Aunt''s Shark that she says cleans her floors (her pads actually get dirty, which proves they are picking up dirt!).

After using my HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer for the first time, I noticed that my laminate floors looked cloudy and when checking the pad it was only slightly soiled. I sat down and read the reviews for this mop. One reviewer complained about her mop pad not looking dirty and doubted the efficiency of her HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer. She wrote that the mop DOES NOT clean floors but only sanitizes them. I decided to make a phone call to Haan Customer Service to inquire about this. Well, much to my surprise, I was told that what I read in the review was correct. The rep clearly stated that this mop ONLY sanitizes and WILL NOT clean floors. I usually make all of my purchases with Amazon, however thankfully I bought this product at a local store, and I will be returning it tomorrow. I realize that the mop is advertised as a steam mop but I just assumed that it would also clean my floors. Another negtive for me is that it is heavy. I will stick with my Shark Pocket Mop. So far it has served me well. Please, just know that if you want clean floors, this is not the steam mop for you.

After I left 5 star review at first, I need to update potential buyers on this Haan steamer. Mine broke after 3.5 months of use and I read all reviews and it has happened before to others. My steamer stopped teaming and squirts water instead, the heating part broke. I wa mopping my kitchen floor and right in the middle of it it stopped working. Again I have to pay for shipping to return/replace, but I see many other users also had the same issue with power or heating part and as much as I loved it before, I feel that for $115 that I paid, mop should work at least 5 years, not 3.5 months! Very dissapointed in HAAN, as it was rated #1 in steam mops by consumers :( Not sure if I want to get another replacement if problem is well known to the company and there is nothing that they would do to correct it. Poor business practice.

I had purchased a NuCell ionizer for a friend and installed it 4 months ago so I am able to do a little comparison. The IOpure machine was $400. less and has more features: 4 levels of alkaline settings. It comes with a 3 pre-filter unit which is optional to install (many systems do not have this added feature).

An additional carbon filter for inside the unit was included (another bonus). I had been using and installing for others a 5 stage reverse osmosis system for the past 16 years and I was introduced to alkaline water systems which produce what I like to call "LIVING WATER".

There is definitely an energetic feature to the water that flows through these plates in the unit. I would like to think that we get the same charge from drinking the water from fast flowing streams and waterfalls that produce negative ions. If you are shopping for a good unit and a good company that is responsive; take a look at this unit. I believe that it is underpriced and compare it to machines in the $1200-1500. range. If you are drinking 9.2 alkaline water from a Kangen, a NuCell, and any other, is it not 9.2 ph? Maybe the Kangen produces more ORP; so, drink more water.

So far we are happy with the water produced by this machine. It does all we expected it to. After using the machine for several week, you can tell a difference in the taste of our water. Even the neighbor children "like our water" Good thing.

just got it in about a month ago.. was amazing for the few weeks i had it i used it daily, i had used a kangen machine & honestly thought this was pretty much just as good. got my ph normalized (it was horribly acidic) & was really noticing an improvement in my health. but it just crapped out on me. now just this morning the "replace element" light went on & the water comes out hot & tastes wierd. will let u guys know if they have a replacement part for me or help me out in some way. & if they help me out i will improve the rating,,, but i still think it should last longer than a month or so.

I have been using this ionizer for 2-3 months now. The water it produces tastes great and I really love my ionizer! Had a little difficulty getting it hooked up as the adapter which was included, would not work with my faucet. I bought a different adapter at Home Depot, then it was easy to hook up and worked great.

I used to have an ionizer that was much more expensive. There is little noticeable difference in the working and quality, of this one as compared with the one I had before, but a great deal of difference in the price. This one also came with a replacement filter (instead of the testers), and a pre-filtering system, which my earlier one did not have. This is a great product at a great price!

I purchased this machine in 6/2012 and it is still producing great tasting water. There is however a trick to the change element light. Turn the faucet off first then flip the valve. I don''t even like the taste of other filtered water any more. I would recomed this to any one. Even if you don''t believe the Ionized water does any good, it comes with a 4 stage water filtration system. Awesome.

ELITE CUISINE 4cup COFFEE MAKER PAUSE+SERVE WATER LVL ID Save 62% Off

ELITE CUISINE 4cup COFFEE MAKER PAUSE+SERVE WATER LVL IDThe descriptions available online for this product are not complete. Not only is the filter basket removable, washable, and operates as a paper-less filter system, but the part that encases the filter, is both removable and washable. Whoever made this coffee maker is brilliant. Though, like most brilliant people, they assumed that everyone thinks the way they do. A drawback to this product is that you cannot open or close the filter basket when the coffee pot is in place on the element. You just have to remember the pot is the last to go into place and the first to come off. This unit makes great coffee. The parts go in the dishwasher. It looks great on the kitchen counter... the design is exceptional. I am delighted with my purchase.

When i first saw the box i was like wow! this coffee maker is really small but size isn''t everything. This coffee marker works like a charm it keeps your coffee warm for a much longer time than my other coffee markers. Its a must have unless you drink more than 4 cups of coffee a day or you have a large family were everyone is a coffee lover.

The first unit that was delivered boiled water once which you need to do before you make coffee the first time. It never worked again. I contacted the supplier ''MaxTool'' and was told that I was responsible for the return postage. I love paying extra for getting a defective product. I will never purchase anything thing that is provided by MaxTool in the future.

The second unit works fine, nothing spectacular and makes a good cup of coffee.

I WAS SUPRISED HOW GOOD A COFFEE MAKER IT REALLY IS. COFFEE IS HOT AND VERY GOOD. IT BREWS FASTER AND MAKES BETTER COFFEE THAN THE BIG, MORE EXPENSIVE COFFEE MAKER I HAVE AT WORK. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I HAVE IS THE CLUMSY CONE HANDLE YOU HAVE TO PULL TO OPEN THE CONE SHAPPED COFFEE HOLDER. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING IS VERY GOOD. ESPECIALLY THE FACT THAT THE ELITE CUISINE EHC2022 CAN MAKE COFFEE WITHOUT PAPER FILTERS. IN SUM IF YOU WANT AN INEXPENSIVE, NO FRILLS GOOD COFFEE MAKER THEN THE ELITE CUISINE EHC2022 4 CUP COFFEE MAKER IS FOR YOU.

This is a great coffee maker at a great price. The coffee comes out hotter than my big coffee maker. The washable reusable filter is great, but you can use those desposable filters too. A couple of things to note: 1: you can''t open the filter tray with the coffee pot in it''s place, it has to be taken out 2: the filter tray is a little hard to open..you have to hold onto the machine and open it otherwise you might tip the entire thing over since it''s small and light.

Mint Plus Automatic Floor Cleaner with Charging Cradle

Mint Plus Automatic Floor Cleaner with Charging Cradle - Model 5200CLOVE IT!! I have a six month old bullmastiff puppy who tracks in mud/dirt/rain/snow all day long. I can put her down for a nap, run "Alfred" and the mess is gone in no time. We have two different types of hardwood floors as well as textured tile.

This is essentially a Swiffer on steroids. It does not get the textured tile scrubbed, but it does get the surface grime gone. Run it once with the dry cloth (got all the dustbunnies from under the couch), then load the scrubbing pad with whatever you normally use to clean your floorvinegar and water, Bona, Armstrong, Mr. Clean, whatever. Turn on the mop feature and off it goes. About half way through the cycle, I remove the pad (it just pops off held in place with magnets, takes all of 15 seconds) and turn it the other direction, which gets both sides of the cloth working. It is is sooo quite!

I''ve had no problem with it finding the cube, it covers most of the floor, it occasionally misses some spots, but nothing drastic. The charge holds for both sweeping and mopping the living room (24'' x 17''). Then I recharge for about two hours and it will do the kitchen (same size) and the foyer.

The only down side is you pretty much have to use their cleaning/mopping cloths. I tried using some other microfiber cloths and they were too thick and too big which covers up the sensors, causing the robot to essentially spin in circles. I''ve been trying to find an additional three pack of just the scrubbing cloths with no luck. You can use Swiffer and other cleaning cloths with it, but I like the idea of the reusable. Cloths go in the washer with other cleaning rags, then into the dryer.

I''ve had the unit for about two weeks, I''ve run it probably ten times, thrilled with the product.

Updatehave now had the unit for three months and it''s still going strong. Starting to get a little scuffed (going under the Christmas tree was hard on it), but still love it. I did get additional cloths and they wash up great. I''m running it a couple of times a week. It stays on my dryer in an upright position, plugged in, so it''s always ready to go. Highly recommend.

First let me start off by saying we have a family of 3 very active boys and 3 very active dogs. Needless to say I cannot keep up with every drop of something that gets on the floor. That''s where this little miracle comes in!!

I couldn''t be happier with the Mint Plus. I didn''t purchase this one with the charging cradle, however I did purchase the turbo charger separately. Still waiting for that to come in so i will update my review after I use it! It comes with a mop pad and a dry pad. I didn''t know that when I bought it so I also purchased the set of 3 (2 dry, 1 wet) for $19.95 so now I''ll never run out I guess! It was so easy to set up and get started. It did take 4 hours for the initial charge, however it lasted for over 2 hours going non stop! (and it was in a large area) It evens comes with an easy set-up instruction card. I''m usually horrible when it comes to electronics and I figured it out with no problems! I was kind of skeptical at first with running something around the dogs that looks like it could be a toy for them, but after some sniffing and following they were bored with it. :)

We live in Arizona (sand, dirt, dust, sand...and did I mention sand?) so consistently clean floors doesn''t happen unless I vacuum and mop every day and who has the time for that these days? For those of you who think this should work like a steam mop or a scrubber, you''re going to be disappointed. This is made to keep your floors looking clean in between deep cleaning and it works just as advertised in my opinion!! It took off all dirty paw prints and daily foot traffic off my tile and left it streak free with just water! (Something my steam mop doesn''t even do) I have a dog kennel, table and chairs and other nooks and crannies in my kitchen/dining area and it didn''t beep once because it was stuck. Does a great job on its own navigating difficult areas.

Like I said previously I only used warm water in the tank, but I think next time I might put in a few drops of scented floor cleaner. Just for the smell. The tank isn''t large so I did have to add water after an hour or so. If you have a smaller area it should work fine on one tank. Also I already washed and dried the mopping cloth in my machines and it came out perfect! No pilling, snagging, shrinking or anything that I noticed. It says on the box that it''s compatible with Swiffer dry pads. Haven''t tried them yet, but the way they hook in is just like on my old swiffer so I bet it works.

If you''re looking for some extra help around the house that will pay for itself in the long run, I would highly suggest the Mint Plus!! Worth every penny!

Pros:

It is quiet.

Like the tracking system.

Easy to use.

Would be good for people with limited mobility when it is difficult to vacuum and mop.

Economical if you use the washable cleaning pads.

Doesn''t catch on furniture like Roombas.

Seems to be cleaning well if you do it over and over and over.

Using it does allow me to do other things and leave the mopping to Mint.

Probably good for apartments or condos, not homes over 2000 square feet.

Cons:

I think it is very Overpriced for what is does.

Slow slow slow, even on tile floors.

Have to change pads, charge, clean, change pads, a few times just to clean my large living room.

Cannot add cleaners to water solution so it cleans with only H2O in its little water tank. Option is to buy those expensive Swiffer pads.

Needs to change cleaning pads often to make sure it isn''t just smearing dirt.

Not suitable for large rooms because battery runs down before finished.

I have owned a Roomba for another house and it did great vacuuming carpet for in-between house cleaning days. I prefer Roomba for vacuuming my house over the Mint, but Roomba is too noisy on tile. Since I loved Roomba, I researched reviews on the Scooba, but it scores very low. Mint had a higher customer rating overall.

I guess robotics have not mastered mopping floors.

I was going to return it because it just isn''t fast enough to clean all my tile floors and I certainly don''t want to buy two of them to try to get the job done. The return policy is only good if package is unopened. If I had bought it from Walmart.com and had this disappointment, I could have returned it.

I am a Prime subscriber and love shopping Amazon. I frequently order items from Amazon and this is my first disappointment. I ordered Mint because of so many positive reviews.

I agree with another customer, if you accept that you are paying $$$ for a robotic Swiffer and not a technological breakthrough for house cleaning, it won''t disappoint. If you don''t like Swiffer cleaning you will be disappointed with this.

Good concept, but not there yet.

Listen guys I made a REAL thorough search for a decent robot before I got it I mean I did this 24h/d for like 2 weeks I went to a billion of friends and listened to all their robots and saw how they all work.. I decided to go for the mint for reasons I will soon provide. Just let me start and say that my wife was skeptic and didn''t want to hear about a robot but now she adores Alfred our Mint plus makes me feel like batman ;).

I found several reasons why I''d rather use this and not any other robot, this is individual but it fits us like a glove:

Advantages

--------------------------------------------------

1. Quiet [!!!] we have a 1.5yo daughter who makes all the mess and spill all the liquids in the world all day everyday. since we can''t clean when she''s up, we clean when she''s asleep and Alfred cleans just about a billion times quieter than we do. plus he work in complete darkness so he enters her room and cleans it too. it does make small sounds when it bumps into stuff but this isn''t enough to wake her up :D by the way with the roomba and its lookalikes there are no bumping sounds the vacuum sounds is oh so unbelievably loud you can hardly hear anything ;)

2. Quick it doesn''t move quickly, but it works efficiently I had to say I watched roomba and its lookalikes in all my friends'' houses and I was just so annoyed with how slow it works I haven''t watched the Neato which I heard should be efficient as I figured its too loud for us anyway but all the others seem to just test my patience they take ages to clean a room.

3. Wet Clean after Shabbat the floors look just about like hell :) there are many many stains all over the place. the first time we gave him such a task I couldn''t believe we''ll see any results I even waited to see it couldn''t handle one of the stains and went to the computer room all frowning about the bad purchase but boy when it gave the finish tune and I got to the living room I was A-S-T-O-N-I-S-H-E-D it appears the stain I spotted was just impossible to take off (I tried with my finger and couldn''t do it too) but all the rest was sparkling!! this really made me trust Alfred more and made my wife crazy in love with it!

4. Not-Too-Complicated one of the things I don''t want to happen is malfunctions! the way mint works is very simple and very understood and seems the least malfunction-potent of all the vacuums and even the scooba it simply is a smart moving robot you can do whatever u want with it if someone made a nice domino dropper with it he could fill his house with domino cubes and make an awesome domino effect :D I like to know how stuff work

5. Goes below furniture this really is great! we don''t like Alfred''s dry-cleaning function as we can quickly sweep ourselves but we do let it go below our bed and take the huge masses of dust hiding there :)

Disadvantages:

--------------------------------------------------

Doesn''t go to it''s charging cradle scooba doesn''t do that as well but its nice how the roomba and likes do it

No scheduling this is really reasonable since I wouldn''t like it to clean with the same cloth twice :P

No smart room blocker sometimes when we want it to clean only a certain area we close the doors leading to others

No huge range our house is relatively small so a good position to the cube gives me full coverage but largers houses need to buy extra cubes don''t try running without the cube it doesn''t work too well..

The dry-cleaning (sweeping) isn''t really effective it works okay but leaves some dust behind

Summary:

--------------------------------------------------

If you''re looking for someone to clean your house with a damp cloth you''re going to fall in love with this pretty toy.

It is great for people who work from home or for housewives as unlike vacuum robots it won''t blow a hole in their minds with noise.

We''re most satisfied with it [!]

Just got my Mint Plus less than an hour ago. Can''t say much yet as it''s charging. It''s packaged extremely well and every part is labeled very clearly and easy to understand in the packing. Very little packaging too! I wish everyone took a chapter from Mints book on using little and smart packaging.

My main point to review this before I''ve used it is to warn before you buy extra cleaning clothes for it the box came w/ a total of 4.

2 dusting and 2 mopping. The description on Amazon failed to mention how many are included in the box.

What comes in the box:

Mint Plus Automatic Floor Cleaner

North Star Navigation Cube (2 C batteries included)

Pro-Clean Reservoir Pad

Multi-Purpose Cleaning Pad

2 Reusable Microfiber Sweeping Clothes

2 Reusable Microfiber Mopping Clothes

I bought this unit (5200C) because it was on a great sale and included the charging station.

What I got was the Mint Plus for the same price with out the charging station. It still charges the same way it would seem but doesn''t have the little cradle you''d just plop it into to charge. Not a big deal as it still stands up and is plugged in the back but I did order the unit w/ the cradle.

Contacted Amazon and we''ll see what happens. If I''ve got to send the whole thing back just to get the cradle I''ll probably just opt to keep it instead.

Mint and Amazon did a terrible job in the description of this little guy. A simple search on it and I found a ton of reviews on it from other people and Mint itself along with some great video demonstrations for it that convinced me to buy it.

Although it''s advertised to clean up to 2000 square feet dry sweeping you have to have an additional cube for that. Otherwise with the included cube it will do 1000 square feet.

I think I''ll save myself the extra $40 and simply move the cube and Mint when I''m ready for it to do an extra room or area and block the first area off w/ a broom or something.

Update;

The silly charging station was included thanks whoever told me to look closer at the box. Yep, there it was stuck on the bottom very well hidden.

We''ve moved into a large house with no carpeting at all. My main reason for purchasing the Mint.

The house was filthy when we moved in. The previous owners had 11, count them. 11 dogs. 9 of them Yorkshire Terriers to boot. Boy those little buggers do like to shed.

Ran my vacuum to suck the major dog hair up before we moved boxes in and try to get the bulk of dog hair up.

In the last week we''ve been here I run "Mindy" at least once a day, she very quietly goes about her business first thing in the morning while I make coffee and breakfast for my 4 dogs and cat. 2 of the dogs are shedders and someone in their infinite wisdom painted the wooden floors the color of milk chocolate so every bit of dog hair shows.

I was amazed after the first run she did how much of the old dog hair she''d found that I''d missed w/ the vacuum. She does her job dutifully and well.

I''m thrilled w/ how well the dust pads work, the dust pads are reversible so you can get quite a bit of use out of one before you need to start w/ a clean one.

The mop pads are not reversible but do have a nice loop to the pad to do a bit of scrubbing.

I''ve had no issue of her getting stuck other than once she found a gap big enough to scoot under and got stuck under a large area rug. Took me forever to notice the big lump under the rug when she was calling for help.

The mopping attachment holds quite a good bit of liquid. So far I''ve only used plain water which was done wonders for the paw prints etc.

She does not navigate the perimeter of the room as the website demonstrated. I don''t know what her deal is there but not a big issue as she does hit every bit of the room.

I run her every day sometimes twice depending on how much the dogs have tracked in and how many shoes have tramped through the house. And mop every other.

She does not replace a good sweeping and mopping but for the maintenance in between she''s a life saver and has kept my free to unpack boxes and put my new house together. I''d kiss her on the lips if she had any.

Tassimo Water Filter

Tassimo Water FilterI''m very happy to see this item on Amazon because I find it impossible to locate it at my local stores. Note that this filter only fits the Tassimo machine that allows for a filter (the TA1400 with a 68-oz. water tank). It does not fit the TA1200 with a 50oz water tank (which does not come with a water filter). If your machine originally came with a filter it is the TA1400 and this is the replacement water filter for it. The filter does a good job and allows me to quickly fill the tank with tap water as opposed to using water from my kitchen filter which comes out slowly and takes much longer to fill the tank.

these older filters are increasingly hard to find. i used to buy them here on amazon for $10 apiece. this current price of $30 is WAY too expensive, even if they are hard to find. most sites are out of stock, but i did find the filters for my older braun tassimo machine at coffeewiz.com for $9.

I''m also having a hard time replacing the Braun water filters. Contacted Tassimo and they said they no longer make them and you can use machine without them, which is great news because I have reverse osmossis. Log on to braun.com and they give you a list of places that sell these filters by state. Found one in my area. Will not pay over $8 for this water filter. What a rip off! Tassimo is doing a disservice to their customers and I told them about the Braun website. Braun offers all replacement parts for this coffee maker.

Brushed Chrome Colored Faucet Light Heat Sensitive Color Changing

Brushed Chrome Colored Faucet Light Heat Sensitive Color ChangingIt is so funny that the email was sent to me this weekend for review as I was going to look up the info for my purchase tomorrow.

First of all, I love the product as it has helped with my grandchildren to know when the water is becoming hot when they are using our powder room sink. But...in only a few short weeks the "brushed chrome" is peeling off little by little with no one really touching it. I don''t know what would make this happen...so I question that. I can see that it is only spray painted on the plastic faucet part and is starting to look worn already. Brushed Chrome Colored Faucet Light Heat Sensitive Color Changing

Mine seemed to have worked a lot better than some other reviewers'' lights, it reliably turned red at hot and blue at cold, although I would always try to find the exact spot where it was neither hot NOR cold, because it would light up purple :)

But, as electronics and water don''t tend to mix, the chamber with the electronic parts, despite being "sealed," quickly stopped being sealed (I think water seeped in through the little holes that the thermistor was poking out from) and toasted the electronic parts. Now it''s filled with rust and broken. Only after a couple days, one of the electronic contacts rusted over so badly that it wasn''t making the electrical connection, and I''d have to take it off once a week and use a file to remove the corrosion, but after only about three weeks it began to fill with water, so I would diligently take it off several times a day and drain it, and that worked for a few months, but by then the water had set to work and it was only a matter of time before it stopped working altogether.

It''s really cool, but I would consider carefully dotting the holes that the thermistor sticks out of with superglue or silicone or SOMETHING to keep water from getting inside, and "shake" the faucet after turning the water off so drops of water don''t stick to the sensors and speed corrosion. I wouldn''t even say that it''s an inherent design flaw, since I don''t know how else you''d pull off this effect, barring some "water wheel" method, which would probably just gum up and stop working anyway.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed it, it was a fun novelty (and great to help know when the water had changed temperature), but I wished that it had lasted more than a few weeks.

Buy Brushed Chrome Colored Faucet Light Heat Sensitive Color Changing Now

I couldn''t be more disappointed in this item. First of all, the "brushed chrome" is silver colored plastic. None of the standard-sized faucets in my home fit this, even with the adaptors provided. It doesn''t light up at all when water is passed through it, and if you open it to change the batteries, the little metal contacts bend and you can''t reclose it without totally bending them out of shape, rendering it useless.

I''m soooooo disappointed and frustrated now at the hassle of returning this to a third-party seller. Learn from my experience, steer clear of this little boo-boo.

This is a good conversation piece....I saw one first time at a friends house and I thought it was really cool.I went home and ordered 2.When I received them one did not work. I had absolutly no problem exchanging. They are fun when family comes to visit..it''s alittle surprise..and kids wash thier hands more withut any problems, so maybe I''ll get the shower head too!If you have an even flow of water your lights will be even, otherwise, still fun
