White Countertop BottleLess Water Cooler from BottleLess Direct Save 40% Off

White Countertop BottleLess Water Cooler from BottleLess Direct. Dispenses Hot & Cold water. This product does produce good tasting water from the tap and it also produces cooled or hot water instantly. The major problem is that the cooler is an energy hog. It costs about $15 or $20 more a month on my electric bill to operate this device. The motor runs constantly which is not only expensive but annoying. It produces a good product but at a substantial cost.

Culligan D-20A Drinking Water Replacement Cartridge Save 9% Off

Culligan D-20A Drinking Water Replacement Cartridge
  • Reduces chlorine taste and odor
  • NSF Certified with a 2 year warranty
  • Filter life up to 12 months or 1000 gallons
  • Granular activated carbon cartridge
  • Recommended for use with city and well water supplies

I bought this as a replacement for a D20 filter in my RO-3167. The package I got from amazon had a product sheet inside that was marked "D20" but a factory sticker on top of the plastic wrap said D20A.

It''s the best activated carbon filter for multi-stage reverse osmosis (RO) systems. It''s made in USA. I have been using them for at least 10 years. You need to thoroughly follow the instructions for replacing filters, sanitizing your filtration system and priming the system after filter replacement. Failure to follow all these procedures will result in unpleasant odors, sediment or carbon dust in your water. Also for RO filters, it is recommended to let water flow from filter faucet for 10-20 seconds before using water for drinking purposes.

I am very disappointed with the filters. I don''t know if maybe they were old or what but within 1 month of installing the new filter, the water had a bad smell to it and a bitter taste. I will not buy this product again.

The plastic plug installed to keep the charcoal inside the filter came loose and the charcoal came out and plugged the valve body in my sink faucet and ruined it.

Provides higher flow rate than higher rated products and tighter filters for same flow on filtered water as hot/non filtered water. Water tastes great and has no aftertaste. More than ample filter for home use.

I don''t know why, but this D-20A filter is not working as well as the D-20 (which I cannot find anywhere). My well water still has that ''boiled egg'' smell and now (this was not happening prior to putting in this filter)there are tiny flecks of black ''stuff'' in the water, which I believe may be particles of the charcoal filter. Very disappointed as they were a great price. I''ll try my local hardware again as they seem to work well. Going to have to cancel my renewable order through Amazon. Very disappointed.

Vitapur VWD1006BLP-BL Bottom Load Water Dispenser

Vitapur VWD1006BLP-BL Bottom Load Water DispenserI read on other reviews of this product that said it was a bit noisy and they were true. The noise is similar to an older wall mounted air conditioner. For me it''s worth not having to wait for my bf to pick up the water bottle or spilling some of it on the floor when I do it myself. It''s much better looking than the top loading ones with the exposed bottle, it also has lighting in the cup area that''s bright enough to not need additional lighting for a late night cup of water or tea.

I chose to return this item before I even used it. The product description does not accurately describe how it works. I''ve had a similar item by a different manufacturer for 4+ years until it recently broke. To replace it I thought I would try a sleeker looking brand of the same item. Well, it''s not the same. My old unit provided INSTANT Hot water. The Vitapur instructions booklet explains that to obtain hot water you have to press a red button then wait up to 3 minutes for Hot water to dispense. In 3 minutes I could boil water on the stove and not need this unit! The item description did not detail this part of it''s functioning.

Also, every time I opened the door to the lower storage area where the water bottle is place, the door would fall off! The hinge mechanism (if you can even call it that) is one of the cheapest designs I''ve ever seen and clearly does not work! For an item that is over $200 it is Not worth the money!

Although some reviews said this product was noisy, I do not agree. There is some mechanical noise when the unit is recharging its fill tank, however it only lasts a few seconds. Water is served hot or cold and works great! This is a quality built stand-alone water cooler.I am very pleased with this water cooler.

I was looking for a stainless steel water dispenser to complete my theme in my new kitchen and after several purchases and returns, I found the Vitapur dispenser and I love it. It is quite and only makes noise when it is filling up after use. If you need instant hot water, this machine is not for you because you have to wait at least three minutes which I don''t mind. Anyway, hope it last a very long time because it is awesome.

Love it Val

The first one I received was damaged in shipment and Amazon sent a replacement unit ASAP. Had this unit up & running for a while & although it''s a little noisy when refilling the storage tanks, it''s works & looks great; cold water, hot water, & room temp water are within temp ranges as expected. Replacing the 5gal bottle is a breeze without having to invert it as with units that have the water bottle on top. I would recommend this unit to those who don''t want to deal with the burden of lifting & inverting water bottles. Very happy with this unit.

Bialetti Moka Express 1-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker

Bialetti Moka Express 1-Cup Stovetop Espresso MakerI decided to go with this instead of a fancy pants espresso machine. I bought the 1-cup maker (makes 1 shot of espresso, not 1 cup of coffee fyi) and a frother, and I am so glad that I did!

When I first opened the espresso maker, I wasn''t exactly sure how to use it. Not all of the directions are perfectly clearI didn''t know how high to fill the water (it says to the "lines," but I didn''t see any lines), how much espresso to put in, or how long to let it sit for. I skimmed through a bunch of reviews and slowly pieced together all the info I needed....which I will put in one convenient place for you!

When you first get it, clean it with water. Everything I readfrom the instructions to other reviewssay not to use soap. The instructions say to make your first batch and throw it away, which I did since I wasn''t able to use soap to clean it.

If you get a larger maker, obviously you will need to adjust your measurements. For the 1-cup, put the water in the bottom piece up to the bottom of the valve (the thing on the wall of the base when you look in it). Put the metal filter in next and put 1 tbsp espresso in. Again, this makes one espresso shot. Screw the top on and put it on low-medium heat (I put it on 3 or 4 on my electric stove and that worked just fine). My burners are pretty big so I set it off to the side of the coils where it was directly on a few of them; I set the handle so it wasn''t over the coils because I saw a lot of reviews about the handle melting.

When I made my first batch, I wasn''t sure how long to wait; needless to say, I didn''t wait long enough. With the 1-cup, it took about 5 minutes to see the espresso start to brew. As it brews, you can definitely open the top to take a peek. You have to guestimate when all the water has gone through (trial and error from using it a few times), and when it''s all done, pour out your espresso into whatever you are drinking it from.

For an easy mochaI heated 1/2 cup or so of milk in the microwave. I used Hershey''s syrup (about 1 tbsp) and added it to the milk. I used my $7 milk frother (IKEA Produkt Milk Frother...if you live by IKEA, buy it in person for $2!) to mix the milk/syrup. I poured the espresso in a mug and added the chocolate milk to it. It was much more delicious than I expected for using plain ol'' Hershey''s syrup!!!

In conclusion, it''s an awesome espresso maker. It''s better than a machine because there are less parts to break, it''s easier to clean, and it''s definitely authentic!!

Enjoy :D

A previous reviewer complained that the 6 cup version only makes 1 1/4 cups. This is an espresso maker, as such, the cups are measured in "espresso cups", which happen to be 1oz or 30ml. So the 6 cup make 6oz, which is plenty of espresso to have anyone climbing the walls. I love mine, I have the 3 and 6 version (work and home).

This is your basic Italian single shot espresso maker for the stovetop. I used practically the same model for almost a year while in Florence. I''m tracking down some killer Illy dark coffee to run through this puppy and am salivating until I can find a can.

It works very well. This unit produces a very small amount of very strong coffee. About the same as a single espresso from that corporate giant in Seattle.

***** The keys to success are: 1. fill water no higher than the nut (pressure relief valve) on the side of the bottom section, and 2) use only low to medium (at most) heat to keep it from boiling over.

Yum!

I''ve had the 3-cup model for 5 years, using it on average 3-4 times per week. It makes absolutely fantastic espresso and I''ve become so spoiled that I don''t care much for espresso in coffee shops any more. It''s quick, simple and wonderful! One caution that several reviewers mentioned -make SURE it is COMPLETELY dry before storing away. My wife put it away several times without it being completely dry and now I have that "corrosion" that a few reviewers have mentioned. As long as it''s dry COMPLETELY dry this won''t happen. BUT, even though I''ll now be ordering a new (and bigger) one, 5 years from an inexpensive little pot that has blown me away with its coffee quality isn''t bad at all. For now, I''ve found that if I scrub out the interior with a steel wool SOS pad before using it, I''m getting by until I get a new one. I LOVE this pot! My advice -buy one now! Oh, for a really special treat, put a small piece of lemon rind in the cup before pouring in the coffee. HEAVEN!

Since I''m Italian I can claim a good experience in moka coffee.

There''s nothing wrong with this one, you cannot expect the same quality as espresso. Using good coffee beans, well ground and packing it right you''ll have a good coffee. Just a matter of pratice. Remember: you don''t need soap to wash it, keep the fire far from the handle and change the O-ring periodically.

The all stainless steel look is unobtrusive and attractive, but I do wish there was an external visual indicator of current water level.

The flow rate through four filters is great. Our city water has a strong chlorine odor coming out of the tap, but the water on the other side of the filters is awesome.

Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System

Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System with Variable Brewing SystePros: it looks nice, it is good for brewing tea water is hot

Cons: unresponsive service; not supportive of customer, inability to repair machine, seller must have certified trained repair person, inconsistent amount of water, selected cup size irrelevant, selected brewing strength irrelevant

"I bought this from a local VT dealer. For the first couple of weeks the coffee was great strong as we like it. But then, quality completely changed and I had trouble with the brewing of the coffee thereafter. My local dealer wasn''t "trained by Bosch" to service and it took me from 2008 to 2011 to get a qualified service person to look at the machine. Bosch Customer Service sent new parts ahead for service and when they were replaced there was NO improvement. The serviceman deemed the coffee ''good'', but admitted he didn''t like or drink coffee! When I said that it seemed that the water wasn''t remaining on the pod long enough he didn''t know anything about it or the brewing process.

My son has a different built-in coffee maker, which is very good, and when mine was new, the coffee from it was comparable to his. But it didn''t remain good and there is nothing we can do to improve it. We''ve tried all kinds of beans to no avail. We have filtered water, apart from the Bosch filter.

Repeated calls to Bosch have told me that there is nothing further that they can do. I feel that a replacement is due to us at the very least...for an expensive coffee machine. My $9.99 coffee maker does a better job."

Looks good in our remodeled kitchen, and certainly brews a decent cup of coffee. However, whether for reasons of quality or use, it just doesn''t hold up well. Ours hit about the 2 year mark and just got very finicky: doesn''t grind, gives error message saying internal trays are missing when they''re not (and by the way, do you have any idea how annoying it is for a coffee maker to give you an error message? An erronious one?), and similiar problems. Local dealer doesn''t have properly trained personnel to repair, manufacturer customer service just notes that its out of warranty and probably not worth repairing. If it''s not worth repairing after 2 years, then it wasn''t worth buying in the first place. It''s like an electronic gadget that just won''t work anymore. Only this thing sits in my kitchen...mocking me.

Avoid at all costs...

Buy Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System Now

If you like really strong expresso, this machine does not deliver. Even at the extra strong and small espresso settings, the coffee is quite strong but does not have that special espresso flavor. The water and expelled coffee container are too small and after 6 or 7 morning coffees, tray and grounds must be emptied. The directions say NOT to use extra dark coffee beans (which you only find out when reading the instructions after unpacking the machine) but then coffee would taste even less like espresso. Also, installed machine must be ventilated, which is another instruction discovered after unpacking. The Miele is quite a bit more expensive but having tasted the espresso at a friend''s house and found it to be excellent, wonder if I should not have paid the extra bucks.

After being installed and working for 2 days, the machine stopped working. Bosch customer service was excellent and scheduled a repairman out in a few days. Machine needed a new pump which had to be ordered. After the new pump was installed, still did not work so had to order a new brew box. Working fine now, but 2 main parts defective after 2 days, not good.

I have now being using this coffee maker for 3 months. No problems. I am meticulous about keeping it clean and the coffee taste great. Easy to use. Just don''t like the fact that you have to constantly add water and empty the tray. A built in water line is ideal but you will spend an extra $1000.00 for the Miele. Not sure that money is worth it. Read prior review, not sure what happened. Bosch products are usually excellent. Would definitely get this again.

Brita Magnum Pitcher

Brita Magnum PitcherThis is the largest Brita pitcher I could find 50% larger than the original pitcher (3 qts vs. 2 qts). We use a lot of filtered water, including cooking spaghetti, filling the room humidifier, etc., so the larger size is more convenient.

It does require removal of the whole lid to refill the "Deluxe" model is similar, but has a flip-top to refill more easily.

Be aware that when full, this model is heavier to handle, especially as it extends out due to its shape so it is a little more awkward than a gallon jug of milk even though it holds less.

Brita has good customer service over the phone, but the warranty for the pitcher is only 90 days. (Ours tend to get cracks in about 3-9 months.)

The water filtration is excellent, but you must remember to replace the filters at the proper interval (about monthly) to maintain the water quality. Some other models have built-in reminders we just replace it at the beginning of each month.

Note that Brita does NOT soften water or take out sodium it does take out Lead, Mercury, and other metals and contaminants. It also improves the taste.

Santevia Enhanced Mineral Stone Post Filter Save 7% Off

Santevia Enhanced Mineral Stone Post Filter - 1 lbs - StonesI already bought a Berkey Light filter which works by gravity and can be cleaned indefintely and keep working. In using it, I found that my output water hsd the same pH as my input water, pH 6.0 roughly. I got these Santevia stones to try to alkalyze the water. The pH moved to about 6.5. Good, but not as much as I had hoped. I still add a few drops of "Willard water" to move it some more. The center filters two thru six of the Santevia filter system also move the pH towards alkaline for those who buy this complete system. The final stones are claimed to last much longer than the center Santevia filters. I may buy another pack of these stones to add to my Berkey Light.

After reading the last review I would just like to comment that these stones are to add the minerals back to your water. I have been using this whole system for almost 3 years now and it is the best water I have ever had. It is comparable to the FIJI water without the hefty price tag and the stuff that the ceramic pre-filter filters out is disgusting! As per the previos reviewer, if you want to be more alkaline then your diet needs to consist of 80% alkaline foods and 20 % can be acidic. I have a very alkaline body :) I use this filter to filter the junk out of my water and it works amazing for that!

Buy Santevia Enhanced Mineral Stone Post Filter Now

I have been using this filter for over a year and the water that comes from it normally tastes unusually good. It is soft and has no chemical after taste. However, the last couple of months I have noticed that algae has been appearing in the bottom area where the stones are. I have ceased using this because I am concerned about bacteria in the water.

Read Best Reviews of Santevia Enhanced Mineral Stone Post Filter Here

We used this in our Berkey with 0 results. The stones just sit there and didn''t do anything to alter our water''s mineral or PH level.

I contacted the company and this is what they told me "We cannot guarantee that using our mineral stones will work with your Berkey as you are missing an important component such as our 5 stage filter which helps in the re-mineralizing and alkalizing of your source water"

So basically you have to buy their $200 plastic water system (no plastic for my family, thank you) and a filter pack $108 and replace the filter every 6 months.

We spent the money on Berkey because the are know and and trusted and is a non-plastic container that holds our drinking water, and doesn''t leech BPA into the water.

If you are looking to raise your waters PH levels. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Yama Northwest Glass 32-Ounce Cold Brew Drip Coffee and Tea Maker Save 9% Off

Yama Northwest Glass 32-Ounce Cold Brew Drip Coffee and Tea Maker, BlackI bought this for my husband for father''s day and he was so exited! Here is how I got to the buying, maybe I can get you to the fun part faster than I got there!

I had seen this on Amazon I don''t even know how long ago and even though we are huge coffee fans I wasn''t sure about getting it. We had a Toddy maker Toddy T2N Cold Brew System (which is fabulous btw) and I just wasn''t sure how much different this would be, plus it was fragile, not good with an autistic teenager in the house, not to mention how expensive it was. So I saved it to my list and mulled it over, and over, and over....

Meanwhile the kid moved out, and we found a great coffee house that actually had one of these. My husband tried their drink which is the coffee concentrate over ice, no water added. He loved it. Right then I decide to finally get this for him. It arrived well packed and nothing broken. He was so happy when he unpacked it and totally surprised that I had found one. :) When put together it is so cool looking. You just know a scientist in his lab was working late one night and needed coffee so he came up with this! As for my husband, he is making a batch every week now. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it has next to no instructions. Getting the brew right is quite tricky and more detailed instructions would really help with that.

So this is what I know about brewing with it...You have to refill the water (usually once) as it brews, the grind you use is important, not unlike espresso, too fine and it brews too slow (over extracted, bitter concentrate) too coarse and it brews too fast (under extracted, sour concentrate) sorry I can''t tell you more about that, but really it is going to vary based on where you live and how humid the air is, if it is anything like espresso. You also have to adjust the drip speed at the spigot several times while it is brewing. I don''t know how much you can make up for the grind with the spigot drip speed, as I have never made it. It is his, so he is the barista here. The instructions say you should finish brewing in around three hours.

I can tell you the smell of the concentrate is AMAZING! It hangs in the air around the maker like an invisible cloud from the time the concentrate hits the decanter, until you cap it and put it in the fridge. Even if it is not brewed to perfection, the coffee that comes out of this is good, when you finally get it right it is just awesome. It doesn''t make a ton though, so my husband likes to add it to his regular coffee for an extra shot of coffee goodness, that way it lasts longer.

Oh and as for the Toddy they are totally different creatures. They produce a different tasting concoction, both are a concentrate and both are lower acid than hot brew methods, but they are both worth getting if you already have a Toddy maker. As a matter of fact that great coffee house had both kinds of drinks on it''s menu. If you have never done cold brew before and are trying to decide which one to try first, you may want to start with the Toddy, it is much simpler and a good starting point.

I am planing on getting the filters for the AeroPress AeroPress Micro-Filters, Package of 350. I THINK they are the size of paper filters you need for this, and you get 350 of them in the package for very little money, worth a try anyway. I will try to update this when we try it.

Update: these filters are a great size, the fit really well, the one thing my husband said was that they didn''t wet uniformly and the water started to make a little river out of itself on the filter, he pressed the filter flat into the grounds when he saw it, that got it wet all over and solved the problem. I suggested he pre-wet the filter next time. I would think just being slightly damp would solve that problem, something to try anyway ain''t physics fun! Another thing I wanted to point out was that the maker of the filters actually suggests that you rinse and reuse the filters, if you want to do that. So if you are a green reuse type of person, or just a really cheap one (Hi Mom!) that''s another reason to like these filters.

Bottom line: this is not a coffee maker for someone who just wants an easy cup of joe. This takes some tinkering, but if you are inclined, it is fun to do, so good, and really a work of art in it''s own right.

I collect various ways to make coffee (including high-end Jura, various vacuum contraptions from around the world and the usual assorted percolators and presses) and this is hands down my new favorite. It''s easy to assemble and easy to use, despite looking like something out of a 1950''s sci-fi film. Granted, the parts are a bit delicate to clean (so be careful) and it takes a few hours to brew (so it''s not for the spontaneous afternoon pick-me-up) but if you''re looking for the smoothest, cleanest most satisfying cup of iced coffee, this is the one to get. This is true java chic!

The Yama Northwest Glass cold brew drip coffee maker was exactly the product I was after. I had been trying for a while to find one in Australia and eventually gave up, then stumbled upon Northwest Glass'' store on Amazon.

I was worried about international shipping there''s a lot of glass in this product and the shipping charges were very reasonable. The unit arrived well packed and in perfect condition.

The only thing I could complain about is that the unit that arrived didn''t have the straight posts as in the picture but has spindled cutouts as I have seen on other pictures. However as the wood is dark (not black as the picture appears to be) it actually looks quite good and fits well in my modern kitchen.

Use of the machine couldn''t be simpler. Every type of bean you get has different flavours. You hear wine experts talk about fruit or chocolate in wines, you''ll be able to do the same with coffee as the cold process really draws out the flavours without making it bitter. Make sure you beans have been recently roasted about 2 weeks from roasting is a good indication and grind as you need them if possible.

Once processed the coffee will taste great immediately but can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to about two weeks.

If you love coffee do yourself a favour and try cold drip, then race to buy this unit you won''t be dissapointed.

I didn''t believe this would be worth the money, but it is! I started cold brewing coffee last summer. My previous method involved steeping coffee in a big bowl of water overnight, then trying to filter the grounds out through cheesecloth. It was messy and time consuming, used tons of coffee for the amount of concentrated yielded in the end, and no matter how many times I strained it I could never get out all of the sediment.

This contraption is much, much easier to use. The setup is simple -ice water in the top, coffee in the middle, then turn the knob to start the drip. The coffee brews clean, without the mess. This is also much more efficient and uses less coffee than the steaming method to yield the same amount of concentrate. It would be perfect if it didn''t look like something out of Breaking Bad.

I first saw the flowise in a TV documentary about energy consumption and things alike. After trying a few of the lo-flow showerheads in my house (mostly because my wife likes the water really hot and she would run out of hot water before the end of her shower) we were making do with them (we have 3 full bathrooms) they weren''t bad, but they weren''t good either. FloWise is definitively a step up. Even in the "mix mode", it is still 2gpm, which is great. But the savings mode is good enough for a pleasure shower and we now have enough left over hot water so I can shower right after her, if I want to impossible to do before. I love the fact that once you turn the mix mode on (2gpm), it will automatically revert to 1.5gpm after you turn off the water which is great, because she showers on 1.5, I shower on 2.0 (I use half the hot water she uses) we would definitively forget to put it back, and she would probably end up with "warm water" at the end of her shower...

For that hugeness and the price, I was expecting that there would also be an analog adjustment of the water stream, but there is not. There are exactly three settings: one saver setting, and two full flow settings.

My brother installed the first one using a white plumber''s(?) tape to ensure a good seal on the pipe. The base setting is the water saver setting. I measured the water flow by seeing how long it took to fill up a large pot, and it was around 40 seconds. The other two settings took about 30 seconds each. This reflects the 1.5 vs. 2 gpm flow that others have quoted. At first it seemed odd that the shower wouldn''t retain an arbitrary setting, but it does make sense if one thinks about it from a water savings point of view. In other words, if you want a fuller water flow, you have to adjust for that on each shower. I''m not hugely picky in my shower flow preferences, and I thought all the flows were fine. I have been using the first two settings depending on my mood.

What I cannot fathom, though, is the customer support. Firstly, the box that the showerhead comes in contains (1) the showerhead (2) a small white plastic tepee like filter (ie. conical with a washer like portion at the larger end) (3) a single sheet of paper with a customer support number. There is no drawing, no instruction page or manual, and nothing extolling the virtues of the showerhead. In particular, there is nothing to say or indicate in which direction the filter should go. And it could fit into the showerhead in one of two ways. I''m not a plumbing kind of a guy. But to my mind, if I insert the filter with the pointy end going into the showerhead, it becomes quite difficult to remove, which would be a real problem if the filter needed cleaning. This is born out by the way the filters are in the faucets at home. Product management are you listening?

As mentioned, I''m not a plumbing kind of guy, so my logic might be completely wrong, but in any case I have to install the second showerhead now that bro is away. Fortunately, there is a toll free customer support number. I opted for technical support. Can you imagine, at technical support for American Standard, they had NO IDEA in which direction the filter should face. Ashley spoke with her supervisor. Jim had no idea either. They couldn''t find a schematic for it on the internet, they said. I double checked to make sure that this wasn''t a 3rd party contractor I was speaking with. No, no, it was definitely American Standard technical support. They didn''t have an answer for how it was that they didn''t know their own products. They said that they would have to research the matter. I got a call back in half an hour, and the first thing I heard was O-ring. I asked, "What O-ring?" After the rep again consulted with a supervisor, she came back with: insert the pointy end of the filter towards the showerhead. In other words, it will be a real bear to remove. However, there was such uncertainty in her voice that I asked to speak with a supervisor and have been dumped into his voicemail.

Update: I wound up talking to American Standard again (I think I eventually called back after no return call), and after complaining that I wasn''t getting an answer to a reasonable and straightforward question, I was transferred to Level 2 technical support (woah!) in New Jersey. I got the answer that the pointy end of the filter should be towards the showerhead, but after pointing out that this would result in difficulty with removing it, the tech allowed that I had a good point. This tech, though, was much more innovative (that''s level 2 for you) and said that the designers were just down the road, and that she would confer with them.

So the final answer that took me half a day to get to, and only three paragraphs of verbiage for you, is that the pointy end faces away from the showerhead! Thus, it is easier to remove for cleaning. To say it another way, the tepee points against the flow of water.

Conclusion: The water flow of the showerhead is good in my book. I took one star off for the large price vs. minimal settings, and one for the disconnect between customer service''s technical support and the product. In my opinion Product Management has created the problem by having not even an image of the filter + showerhead. But at least we finally know in which direction the filter points.

I saw this shower-head on The History Channel. It replaces a shower head that used about 4 gallons a minute. I love the Flow-Wise as it uses so much less water. I save money on the water bill, the sewer bill, and the natural gas bill (used to heat the water) I should have gotten it months ago!!!!

We live in a three story townhome. I never thought of our water pressure as being poor here, but I purchased this showerhead (due to stellar reviews on Consumer Reports) and discovered that our water pressure is totally inadequate for this product to function on the second and third settings. I thought the first we ordered was defective, only to recieve a second with the same issue. I called American Standard and discovered that indeed our water pressure was the issue. I went as far as increasing our water pressure at the mains in our utility closet, not terribly high, but probably a full 8 turns to the right on the restrictor screwthese work conversely to what you might thinkscrewing tighter clockwise provides more pressure. It was enough to make an immediate difference at the kitchen sink and other places. I tried this showerhead again and the settings would then hold but the central area still came out as a sputtering half-dribble. Do not waste your money. I am going with a Speakman product instead. Alsothis thing looks like a monster out of the boxI had a bad feeling right away, and regettably, this was a Valentine''s present to my husband who takes regular 15-20 min showers daily and it was a complete bust... Frown.

I got this Flowise shower head about a week ago to replace a traditional one that wasted too much water. I was afraid that a low-flow head wouldn''t feel nearly as good as a traditional head due to reduced pressure. The Flowise head proved otherwise, at least in one of the modes:

The turbine mode is the one the shower head defaults to when you turn off the water. It saves the most water by mixing the water with air. This is supposed to feel like a traditional spray, but it really doesn''t. The mixing cools down the water significantly, so you have to increase the temperature of the water. Using more hot water just wastes energy. The turbine action chops up the water which makes it feel like you are being scratched. The water all turns to mist by the time it reaches the bottom of the tub and I can''t even feel it on my feet. I don''t use this mode.

The combination mode turn turns on both the turbine and the sprayer nozzles. When you do this there isn''t enough flow to keep up the pressure that I desire, but it delivers the most water. Some people may like this mode, but I don''t use it. Suggestion for improvement: only turn on one of the spray rings on this mode.

The last mode turns on just the sprayer nozzles and feels the best. It uses more water than the turbine, but still saves enough to be low-flow. The spray feels just like a traditional shower head, and is the mode I use every day.

OMNIFILTER -OCT2 COUNTER TOP HOUSING

OMNIFILTER -OCT2 COUNTER TOP HOUSING
  • "CLEAN WATER SOLUTIONS" WATER FILTER
  • Pack: Shrink Wrapped
  • Compact unit
  • Includes: diverter
  • Attaches directly

This preforms so much better than any pur or brita filter I have ever had. The taste is better, The construction is better. It is well worth the price.

i used a Omni Corporation CB1-SS Carbon Block Undersink Replacement Cartridge with my unit, and the unit DOSE NOT COME WITH A FILTER. So expect it and consider that this 1 filter will last for about 2 years, the filter system will last well over 10 years. Compare that to a normal faucet mount and add up the savings (both my Brita and pur units lasted only 1 year before cracking and leaking). The body is the same filter canister you would find in a omni filter under sink carbon or reverse osmosis unit and uses/comes with the same wrench.

I bought it about 3 weeks ago. I have not tried it yet. I am taken it as a gift overseas. I think it is all right. However, it did not come with filter. I had to call customer service numerous times for the filter. I was told that I have to buy filter. I argued that it should come with one like most of the other companies and I threaten to return it back. Finally one of the agent sent one with no charge. I thank her for her service.

FILTER NOT INCLUDED. I know I''m an idiot for not reading the reviews. I only looked at how many stars without noticing that it was just the sum of 2 reviews. So if you''re going to buy this don''t assume it comes with a filter (like it should). Also, I don''t see anything special about this for the price, it looks like the same plastic model as all the rest. If I wasn''t so lazy, I''d send it back.

Vitapur VWD9506BLS-POU Point-of-Use Water Dispenser Save 11% Off

Vitapur VWD9506BLS-POU Point-of-Use Water DispenserProduct description lists the 3 stage filter and quick change adapter. Page 4 of the instruction manual states "for hygiene purposes, the filter included inside the water dispenser has not been factory installed. It has been shipped in its original shrink-wrapped package..." On opening lower panel (which is part of the problem [see below]) it was empty. Requested a replacement which Amazon promptly shipped. On arrival of the replacement I removed the lower panel to find it empty again! I excepted more purchasing directly from the manufacture vs costco or wafair. Returned product asap. Why purchase a product that doess''t include all of the parts. The filter is one of the largest features of the product. I should also warn that on both products the lower panel is held on by a screw that is overtightened and/or stripped. You''ll have to drill out the factory stripped screw to even access the lower panel. Do not buy, do not buy, do not buy....

We ordered 2 of these for my office. One of them is great works perfectly, very easy to install, no issues. The other has terrible tasting water. It has a very plastic or chemical taste. I have tried several remedies that I found on-line (ie. flushing with vinegar and hot water) and it is no better. In fact it''s maybe even a little worse. The only plastic parts that the water touches are the float valves in the water tank and the plastic tubing for the water line, both of which are pretty important to the functioning of the machine, so... just a warning. 50-50 chance that you will have good tasting, drinkable water.

Purchased 2 to replace 2 existing Vitapur point of use models that were 3+ years old. One unit was OK and using constantly the other nit so much. The problem with that is the pump would not prime and it wouldn''t dispense any water. The orginal units would probably have lasted longer is they weren''t in constant use at our business and with 30 + employees providing water to 2000+ customers on a monthly basis abusing them it was time for an upgrade. Also the older units were a HUGH pain to change the water filters. It was quite a production each time to change them.

New ones arrived nicely packed by freight. A big decision in this purchase was a height restriction in our location that required a unit 40 inches or less. You would have thought that changing the unit out would have been a breeze and the first one was. But the second unit, the cap on the hose area wouldn''t come off so you could quick connect and when trying to pry it off with a tool I totally broke the release valve. Luckily I still had the old units handy and was able to pull the valve off the old unit to use on this one.

Cold is nice a chilly. The hot has a safety feature where you press a button, wait 30 seconds and then release the hot water. It doesn''t really give a indication that the hot water is ready. So it;s a little misleading. One unit sits where customers are and I have to make instructions for them to read if they wanted to make hot tea.

It is a much sleeker unit that our prior vitapur dispensers, with the stainless steel, black and blue lighting it looks much more expensive than they really were. I''ve have them a couple of months now and everything is working as it should. I haven''t had to change out the filters yet, so will update review once I''ve tackled that piece. Lets just hope these last longer than the last ones.
