Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Save 94% Off

Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Filters, Set of 2I purchased these filters from Amazon and am very happy with them. I really noticed an improved taste in my coffee. I think this is a great investment to help maintain the taste of the coffee and increase the lifespan of your coffee maker by reducing build-up from water minerals.

I live in Seoul, South Korea, where it is inadvisable to drink water directly from the tap. Unless, that is, your idea of a good time is to let a little amoebic dysentery cozy up and get friendly with your colon.

Okay, so, the water isn''t ALWAYS that scary to drink. Just, uh, just most of the time.

Even when the water doesn''t make you sick, it usually tastes like it''s been funneled through an old radiator. Coffeemakers, generally speaking, don''t include water filters because the brewing process ostensibly kills all of the harmful bacteria. But you can still taste the heavy-metal-goodness in every last drop of leaden java. Lip smacking!

Anyhoo, I purchased a Cuisinart Coffeemaker recently (oh, how I love that machine), and it came with a package of these little filter fellows, and let me tell you, they do the trick. Gone are the filamental-flavors, the taste of scalded electrical wire! All that''s left is pure watery goodness, the clean, crisp clarity of two spic-n-span H''s and one well-scrubbed O. Now, if this little wunder-filter can do THAT for the brackish dreck that passes for water in Seoul, imagine how much more effective it would be on YOUR water!

Uh. Assuming you also do not live in Seoul. Or, er, Mexico. And parts of Bangladesh. And most of Haiti. And also, maybe, Djibouti. (Although I think Djibouti''s been getting its act together with the public water works system these days, thanks to macro-economic reform programs. See the comments section below.)

NOTE: Some elements of the above review may have been exagerrated in order to titillate easily-titillated readers. Readers with tender sensibilities should not have read the previous review.

Some time ago, I decided to stop using these expensive filters. I already have a Brita charcoal activated filter and use that filtered water directly into my Cuisinart. No problem and very good coffee. When I was using the small Cuisinart filters, I experienced a lot of problems with slow water feed resulting in steam and other problems. I decided, after spending some $16 on filters over a period of a year, that I was just wasting money on these filters. I cleaned the coffee maker after I stopped using the filters, am getting excellent coffee and no more slow water feed and a fine running coffee maker. The coffee tastes as good or better. But, please note that I am using filtered water just not filtering it in the coffee maker.

This year, I found that the filter serves another purpose which is to prevent the occasional overflowed coffee ground from clogging the feed line and preventing all of the water to pass through the filter so you end up with less cups of coffee output compared to cups of water input. With pure water, the filter will last a long time. The root cause of the slow water feed in the paragraph above turned out to be a clogged valve in the feed line.

It is very important when using this coffee maker to have the right grind size. Excessive number of fines can lead to clogging.

Purchasing this three-pack gives great value. Purchasing online also eliminates trying to find this product, since it is not routinely stocked where one would normally purchase the coffee maker itself.

Want Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Discount?

Does a good job at improving the taste of the coffee, but more importantly to me is it also filters out coffee grinds that may accidently spill into the water chamber... a nice plus! Change the filter regularly and it will also extend the life of the coffee maker.

Its an O-ring... Get over it...

I installed these on my boat and the water is very tasty, nice smelling and clear. Suitable for cooking, cleaning and showers.

Want Omnifilter OK25-S6-05 Replacement O-Ring For Water Filter Discount?

Sure it had the O-ring I needed but it also came with several that fit nothing I have. Could have saved a bit of money by going to a big box hardware store and getting just the ring I needed. Not cheap either. Bad purchase experience all around.

The filter fits the housing for my Omni whole house filter and last for 3-4 times after I change the cartridge. After time all O-Rings will swell from hot and cold temperatures and this is normal.

KRUPS Espresseria Full Automatic Espresso Machine Save 45% Off

KRUPS EA8255001 Espresseria Full Automatic Espresso Machine with Built-in Conical Burr Grinder, RedI just received this Krups Espresseria automatic machine. I have a Jura ENA 4 at my work so I will try to make some comparisons to them. The Jura is about the same price and they both have very similar features. I was so excited when I found out I would be receiving this Krups machine so that I can make my cappuccino at home too! I am a coffee fool so I make alot. With winter coming up this will be well used. Ok I have been using the Jura for some time at my work and it has been a very nice machine and is easy to setup, clean, and use. The Krups is no exception here as it is very easy to setup. Just fill the water container, bean hopper, set language, ML or OZ for liquid measurement, water hardness and ready to go. I use beans I buy here on Amazon. They are eight Oclock brand 50 % decaf. I chose the fine grind setting and brewed my first Cappuccio in less than a minute and the froth was superb. The coffee taste and strength is every bit as good as the Jura maybe alittle stronger with the Krups. I like that the machine is fully programable for different fill levels of coffee. You can fill one or two cups at a time. The nozzle height can be adjusted for taller cups but will not accommodate tall cups without sliding the drip tray out. The Jura can accommodate tall glasses no problem. The steam wand worked very well with no mess and produced a very nice froth and is fully adjustable for many positions. I really liked the spill tray as it has a float in it that rises to let you know when it is full. The Jura does not have this. Both machines come with a water filter to help reduce the bad flavors and reduce machine descaling frequency. The both come with a starter pack of cleaning tablets. As with any coffee espresso machine it will need cleaning to keep the flavor and machine working properly. It looks like the Krups requires less frequent cleaning. Both the frothing nozzles need cleaning frequently. All in all this is a very nice machine that will see alot of use. Oh yeah I was kind of surprised when I opened the box and noticed a small amount of coffee grinds in the machine. I called Krups customer service and was promptly advised that the machines grinders are tested during the assembly. I found no mention of this in the owners info so I was surprised but it is very nice to know that the machines are quality tested before shipping them out. Oh I should note that Jura does mention in there instructions that small traces of coffee grinds may be found in there machines for the same reason. Well I will try to make some comparisons now.

The Krups you can only use whole beans and no preground coffee.

The Jura has a bypass doser that allows you to use preground coffee.

The Jura does not come with a milk container and must be bought separately for about 80-100 dollars.

The Krups does come with its own stainless steel milk container even though it is not mentioned or shown in any of the pictures. I was really hoping it did come with it. Yeah!!

The Krups is made in France and not Mexico or China.

The Jura has a removable bean container.

The Krups does not have a removable bean container so no quick swapout of beans. Must run them all trough machine.

They both hold about the same amount of old grind cakes at 14.

The Jura needs to be cleaned every 180 cycles.

The Krups needs to be cleaned every 360 cycles. Big plus here!

The Jura takes about 44 minutes on the cleaning cycle.

The Krups take about 22 minutes on the cleaning cycle.

Both have an energy saving mode that is programable.

Both can be changed from ML to Oz for fluid measurement.

Both Krups and Jura come with a 2 year or 6000 cup warranty.

My likes about the Krups are slightly stronger coffee than the Jura.

Less frequent cleaning demands with the Krups.

Krups comes with its own Stainless milk container so you can fill it and put back in fridge when not using. The Jura you must purchase the milk container for 8-100 dollars.

Krups has a drip tray float to remind you when it needs cleaning out.

The Krups costumer service department was very quick and responsive when I called them. Oh yeah and they were all American so I could understand them.

The Krups has a better look for a home than does the Jura in my opinion.

I like being able to see how full the bean container is on the Krups without looking down in it unlike the Jura.

My dislikes abouth the Krups are no removable bean container. So when you want to change coffee beans to another brand you must cycle them through where as the Jura you can remove the bean container and empty it out.

Cannot use preground coffee as an option where as you can on the Jura.

The Krups nozzle does not raise as high as I would like to accommodate taller cups but can if you slide the drip tray out first.

So bottom line would I recommend the Krups Espresseria machine??? Yes I defiantly would!!!

UPDATE:

Ok so I have been using it for some time now and love it more than ever!! My wife too!! When just making a good old fashioned coffee the creama is so rich and yummy. I love it. I am still experimenting with all the minor adjustments you can make to custom tailor it but so far I like the grind set on very fine for a very robust flavor but not bitter at all. I am also loving the included milk container for the milk froth. It is very nice to be able to just fill it, use it, then put back in the fridge when done. Jura makes you pay extra for there milk container so nice job Krups!! Well just wanted to give an update as to how things are going here. Thanks

We''re a 2-3 cup a day coffee household. This doesn''t include all of the weekly trips to the coffee shop while at work for more specialized drinks. Prior to getting this espresso maker we simply brewed flavored coffee at home with cheap and disposable coffee makers. We were of course overjoyed to welcome the Krups EA8250001 Espresseria Full Automatic Espresso and coffee Machine into our kitchen. Here are my thoughts;

Pros

+ All in one unit. Stores, grinds, brews and disposes of your coffee. No outside water lines needed.

+ Stainless Steel milk frothing bottle provided. Very nice!

+ Auto clean/rinse cycle. Only needs complete cleaning once every 360 cycles!

+ Modern and sleek black look. Also, very compact in size for an espresso machine.

+ Easy to use digital interface and quick set up.

+ Water proof service guide stored inside a side slot of the machine.

+ Steamer nozzle also dispenses hot water for tea/hot chocolate drinkers.

+ Extremely quick brew time. Less than 2 minutes.

+ Energy efficient and has an auto-off timer.

+ Made in France (not Taiwan or China like many products today).

+ 2 year or 6,000 cup warrantee.

+ Machine alerts you on all cleaning/replacement functions.

+ Tool provided for easy installation of the unit''s water filter. Especially useful if you have larger hands.

Cons

Incredibly expensive.

Milk frothing bottle and attachments are a bit cumbersome to use and clean.

Water filters are $18-20 each and need to be replaced every two months.

Unable to use flavored or pre-ground coffee. There''s no bypass chamber to change beans. Once your coffee is in the machine it''s in there until you use it.

Frother is rather rigid and has limited flexibility. It''s also difficult to use on a countertop, especially with larger mugs. You need to have it on the counter edge to even get a larger cup out.

Can be rather noisey, especially early in the morning. Water tank can rattle quite a bit when brewing the coffee.

Clock display doesn''t stay on when you''re not using the machine.

Water dispenser tray platform is a bit small and while the coffee nozzles do raise, it''s not really enough for larger coffee mugs.

Some crucial pieces of the machine are plastic (coffee nozzles, parts of the frother etc.). I would prefer them to be metal as the plastic feels like it could crack from the heat.

The Krups EA8250001 Espresseria Full Automatic Espresso and coffee Machine is something most people would never buy but would love to receive it as a gift. I''m sure there are many of these machines on wedding registries from couples with crossed fingers. For the price this machine should definitely be considered an investment. Spending this much on an espresso machine is difficult to justify. However, if you can afford the purchase price it definitely does what it''s supposed to. I can absolutely say that I''m the envy of all my coffee drinking coworkers and friends. I know our household will get many years of use out of it.

This could seriously be the best thing I have ever purchased. It is expensive, but man, it is great to wake up and push 3 different buttons a total of 5 different times and have an excellent cup of cappuccino. It could not be easier. Set up is a breeze. The machine tells you when you need water or a new filter. You can see the coffee beans. There is no mess to clean up. When it is time to empty the spent grounds (about every 10-15 cups) a message comes on, you pull out a side drawer, dump it in the trash, empty and rinse the water tray and ... voila.

We bought this assuming that it would not replace our regular drip coffee maker. But we completely stopped using the coffee maker and instead have cappuccino or cafe creme every day. The automatic cappuccino foamer is really quite clever and easy to clean. We have found that you need milk fat to make a decent foam so use whole milk or add a little 1/2 n 1/2 to whatever reduced fat milk you use and it will make a good foam. It takes a few experiments to see how long you need to let the steam run to get the right amount of milk foam to mix with the strong espresso. We have finally landed on 15 seconds. The machine always comes back to whatever setting you used last, so once you get a setting you like you can pretty much just push a few buttons and your coffee is ready in less than 2 minutes from the time you power up the machine.

It pays to experiment with beans also. We use a mix of 1/2 decaf cafe Britt which is nice and dark and adds an earthy flavor, and 1/2 regular caf Lavazza Super Crema because that seemed to be a consensus good espresso bean. The Lavazza is a medium roast. So now we have the coffee we like, and cappuccinos better than any we can get in a restaurant or coffee shop (always way way too much milk). I am confident we would never use a manual machine. My hats off to people who do. If you are like me and want a great espresso, cappuccino or cafe noisette every day, you will love this machine

So, I''ve had this machine for about a month now, and I''ll echo much of what others have said: it makes an awesome cup of espresso (especially if you''ve got good quality espresso roasted beans, but that goes without saying). The fully automatic nature of the machine makes it a dream to easily get a good cup of coffee, and I''m fiendishly excited that I can reduce my outlays to Starbucks.

The one "complaint" that I had about the machine was that the auto milk attachment didn''t get hot enough (i.e. it got up to around 110 degrees F), so I started nuking my coffee to get it to a good "americanized" coffee temperature. But, I found a solution: when you hit the steam button and the milks starts pouring into your cup, pinch the plastic tube so that it sputters--this will allow more steam to get into the mix, thereby heating up the milk more. The result? Milk that gets to about 140 degrees F!! Perfect stuff. Also, BTW--I''ve successfully used almond milk from the start, so if you want to go healthy and tasty, then you have a good non-dairy, non-soy option. Cheers and enjoy!

This is the best super automatic espresso machine out there based on my own, super-nerdy formula: "(rich flavor * ease of use) / cost." Dorky, yes, but you''re talking to someone who came up with decisionking.com and previously has used a one-touch Tassimo machine in USA, one-touch Philips machine in Spain, and a few other cheap espresso machines including the manual kind. I am a resident of Spain and a US citizen, so I appreciate a good european style "cafe con leche."

The advantages of this Krups machine are that: 1) it''s the most compact machine, 2) it''s very simple to operate 3) it has the lowest cost of the different super automatic brands (as of 10-26-2011), 4) and it can use oily beans unlike the other different brands of machines. 5) Also, it runs the longest between cleaning cycles (360 cycles) compared to the other brands. The resulting coffee is, of course, rich and smooth and full of flavor. That being said, it is important to note that coffee flavor seems to be more related to the quality/freshness of coffee beans used rather than the machine itself.

The disadvantages of this Krups machine are its high cost (relative to my cheap coffee machines before) and no bypass doser. But both of these disadvantages are minimal especially when you compare the Krups cost to the other super automatic espresso machines. On the other hand, a bypass doser is important for that quick decaf, one would want to make for late night after dinner.

Bottom line is: I''d give this device 4.5 stars since it does not have the bypass doser. But if you want an easy to use, minimal maintenance, one-touch espresso machine, that is compact and costs the least of the super automatics then I think this Krups is the machine you want to invest in.

Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Brushed MetalI have a perfectly good Cuisinart DCC-1200, but after spotting the 2000 at a local store I couldn''t stop fiddling with the floor model. Well, my wife was lurking as I was fiddling and with my birthday coming up and my affinity for coffee she thought she''d found the perfect gift. Boy was she was right!

Now let''s be honest, carafe-less designs have been around forever Farberware''s stainless steel coffee pots are staples in offices and at parties they just haven''t been this much fun. I''m not going to repeat everything that''s already been written, but suffice to say the 2000 is a unique coffee maker. Does it make coffee better than my 1200 did? No, not really. But it does keep it hot longer, without the bitter, burnt taste that would often accompany the coffee from my 1200 when left on the warming plate for over 30 minutes. I normally have two cups every morning (not the puny 5-ounce "cups" that every coffee maker seems to think is the norm for whatever reason), but I''ve found myself having about three (maybe not a good thing?) since getting the 2000 because that third cup, about 1-1/2 hours later still tastes great. That wasn''t happening with the 1200. Sometimes I''d try the third cup, but the burnt carafe taste made it unfortunate.

One of the complaints I''m reading here is that you need a separate container to fill the 2000. I can''t be the only owner that owns a Pyrex 2-cup (or more) measuring cup can I? I just fill it up once, twice gasp! three times and pour it in while watching the water level on the side. Honestly, it''s not that hard. Cleaning is no different from any model with a carafe. But instead of washing the outer carafe you remove the inner "carafe" to rinse it out or give it a thorough cleaning. That''s the only difference. The coffee gauge is kind of silly and inaccurate and I rarely ever look at it, but it adds to the allure of the 2000.

I''ll be keeping my 1200 at the ready for my sister to use when she comes over to make her dreadful flavored coffees so they don''t contaminate my new toy. But until the next great design advance comes along to which I can''t say "no," I''ll be enjoying the 2000 to the fullest. It''s neat, it''s fun and it makes great coffee.

This is really a great coffee maker. The negative reviews all seem to be fixated on the fact that you have to pour water into the reservoir, and the unit doesn''t come with a container for this purpose!! Is Cuisinart the Devil? Should I call my lawyer and file a class action suit? What is wrong with people today? Is is really that difficult to procure a plastic pitcher of some sort, fill it with water and then transfer that water into the coffee maker? I think not, and I do it one or two time a day myself without covering my kitchen counters with water. If you are not able to pour water from a pitcher into the reservoir of a coffee machine, I really do not think that you should be trusted with a hot cup of coffee either.

The coffee tastes great, never burnt. It is easy to program and clean and does not take up a whole lot of room. It also comes with one of those re-usable, permanent gold filters which many companies sell separately for about $20. My girlfriend can operate this thing easily, and she has a hard time figuring out the remote control for the TV. If she can program this unit, so can you. As to the other negative comments I have read which describe a powerless, malfunctioning unit, I have had no problems whatsoever with mine. Hope this review was useful, thanks for reading it.

Buy Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Now

We just purchased this coffee maker. Very unique design in that it uses no carafe but a tank inside the coffee maker to store the brewed coffee. You then press a lever to dispense the coffee. My wife has a habit of breaking the glass carafes and so this should avoid this problem in the future. The plastic tank holds the brew basket as well as the coffee and both are removable for cleaning. Full featured with LCD clock, auto start, and adjustable warming time. The most expensive coffee maker we have ever bought but it is well built and most importantly it makes great coffee.

UPDATE

Have to downgrade my rating to 1 star. While it made great coffee, the coffee maker kept failing. After going through 2 units we gave up and bought a Cuisinart DCC 1200 (with a carafe). We''ve had it almost two years and so far so good.

Cuisinart has known problem with this coffee maker. The lid builds up condensation and when you open it, it runs down the back and eventually your timer/brewing mechanism will go out. Multiple reviews have had the same problem. Granted, when I called Cuisinart, they are willing to replace it. (Immediately reached a customer service rep on a Sunday afternoon). But I have to pay the shipping out and include a $10 check for return shipping, and in the meantime, I am a month without a coffee maker.

Oh... and by the way, the customer service rep was immediately aware of the problem, so it is a known problem to Cuisinart as well. When I asked the customer service rep if I could replace this machine with a different machine since it is a known defect, she said no, you can only replace like machine for like machine. I guess your only hope is they will discontinue the product.

If you are unfortunate like me and only read this review after you have already purchased the product, my suggestion would be to open the lid just a small amount to hopefully prevent the condensation from running down the back and keeping it in the grinds basket. Then after the condensation has run off, open in the remainder of the way to remove the grinds or add water.

It''s quick, quiet, clean, and looks good too.

Filling it up is EZ, especially if you have a sprayer hose thingy on your sink. Otherwise YES you will need another container (preferrably one with a spout) unless you''re very adept & not clumsy. If you pour around the top sloppily it WILL get the counter wet, as others have noticed. The tank that holds the finished coffee does come out & you could use this as well but I think it would be kinda awkward, haven''t tried it.

It does come with one water filter that supposedly is good for 2 months. Or just put your own filtered water in there & skip the filters all together.

The timer & clock is easily setup. It brews quietly with little gurgling and finishes with a few low non-obnoxious beeps. It''s weird how quickly it sets up, I find myself standing there a few seconds afterwards trying to figure out what I forgot to do because it''s that zippy of a process.

There are no swinging baskets to fiddle with the top lifts straight up to give you access to the water area, the inner "pot" that holds the brewed coffee, and the two baskets for grounds. The larger square one is for using paper filters this one must stay in the machine. The smaller gold filter fits in this one if you go paperless.

Coffee stays HOT but not stupidly dangerously hot like gas station coffee. The last cup is as good as the first I''ve grabbed some 3 hours after brewing & tho cooling at that point (heater is on for 2 hours) the coffee tasted fine not bitter or burned or evaporated down at all. As often as I''m up getting the last murky cup (roomie makes the pot at 5:30am) this makes me VERY happy. We use generic & Kroger brand coffees too, nothing gourmet except very rarely. I can''t wait to put some REAL coffee in this to see how it does. Well actually I did today I forgot about that! Decaff southern pecan. It had a distinctive chocolate flavor that I''ve never experienced before, bonus!

I''d been reviewing & compairing coffee pots for a few months now looking for a number of features: extra cups (12), carafe-less or no-spill thermos, timer/clock. As a bonus this coffee maker is sexy. I like the stainless shiny plate that you put your cup on (and it never gets a drop on it) and the brushed stainless sides that wipe up instantly with a damp washrag especially if it''s hot. The finger marks just evaporate as you wipe. And it doesn''t steam up the underside of the cabinets or walls either.

Serving is a breeze, just put your cup under & press the lever. Viola! For very tall cups the grill lifts out easily giving you an extra inch. For jumbo cups (like tall travel mugs) yeah you gonna have to pour in another cup & then dump into YOUR cup.

My only "EH!?" is the gold filter. The one that comes with it just feels a little flimsy to me, I have another one from an old pot I use instead. It''s probably fine but I''m just used to the weight of the one I''ve got.

EDIT 8/30/06 STILL loving this coffee pot!!!!!

We make an average of 3 pots a day, sometimes 4. Still going strong, no problems at all. I run 2 cups of vinegar thru the system (top the rest off with water) to clean and then another pot of clear water to rinse. This keeps everything sparkling.

It''s my favorite piece of kitchen equipment to say the least. I FINALLY have a tidy area around the coffee pot with no drips or sloshed coffee. HURRAH!!!!!

Honeywell #V400 1.5GAL Mist Impeller Save 11% Off

Honeywell #V400 1.5GAL Mist ImpellerDuring the winter, the air in our home is VERY dry so I was not turned off by reviews of this humidifier producing too much moisture. Boy was I wrong! After 3 consecutive days of overnight use, the carpet was drenched AND there was this odd white dust on everything within a 2-3 foot radius of the humidifier! I''ve used it on and off for the last few months and the results were ALWAYS the same....wet carpet and white dust. Needless to say, I am in the process of looking into humidiers that don''t drench carpet or produce white dust.

I read all the other complaints. I can honestly say that I never had any problem with this item. In fact, it was easy to use and easy for me to clean. I never had excess water in the air, on the floor, too much noise, mold, or any of the other plethora of complaints. I never had a defect in it and it worked fine from the first day that I got it. I bought it because my daughter had a horrific congestion problem and the air in my house is pretty dry. I fully expect a humidifier to send water into the air. I never had any white film and I have a whole house water softening system. I used the Vicks menthol gel on the inside to give it more of the eucalyptus scent in the air and to ease her congestion and it worked very well. I used it for a long time, stored it, and brought it out again and had no problem. In all, I really like this product. It was economically priced and easy to use. I would buy another one if I needed it.

This humidifier is horrible. I registered for it without reading the reviews and I actually got it. Anyhow, my daughter got a stuffy nose and the pediatrican recommended using the humidifier, so I drug it out of the closet (should have kept it there). The first couple of nights I used it I would notice the water build up on the top of the humidifier and then I noticed that it dripped onto her dresser. I went out an bought a vinyl placemat. Then about a week later I noticed that the carpet was wet. I thought that maybe it just dripped off the dresser, but that wasn''t the case. The carpet was wet beyond the dresser. I read the instructions and it basically said that if is does that then it needs to be cleaned. So, I cleaned it again and again. I never had such a product that needed to be cleaned so often in order for it to work properly. The filters are also very hard to find. I did finally find them at CVS. This is another product that if you decide to go against the reviews and try it for yourself, you better SAVE THE RECEIPT!

I wish I had the option for 0 stars. This humidifier SOAKS the carpet. I have to use a shower curtain liner to protect my floor, and a towel to soak up all the water. Needless to say, this is very inconvienient. Plus, it makes the room smell funny, and it leaves a white dust over everything. Only this was not warned on the package, only in the manual. I''ve had it less than a month and it is already making a loud racket. After spending $30, we have to buy something else.

Want Honeywell #V400 1.5GAL Mist Impeller Discount?

Our climate is normally humid, and we have had to put a towel underneath, it to protect any furniture. I would do this anyways, even if it didn''t spit out water. The rooms in our house run medium to a large open space. We have not had the problem others have mentioned, of it pooling on the floor. Nor have we seen any of the white dust other reviews mention, either.

I have, however, received the benefit, or rather, my children have, of this humidifier. Last year, my child had a bad cough. I had this brand humidifier and ran it 24/7. The pediatrician said it was good thing I had, otherwise, the cough could have become something more serious.

This year, I have two in school. I have had the occasional need to run it, when one of them starts sniffling. There have been many times, they are fine the very next morning.

The humidifier is not silent running, however, as someone else mentioned, the sound of it running does not bother my children, and it does lull them to sleep.

I also set one up in our living room, this past Christmas, because we had a live tree. I could tell a difference from doing that this year, and not having done that in previous years. Either we just lucked up on a really good tree, or the humidifier made a big difference.

We''ve been using this brand for at least two years and other than the occasional pooling around the opening, we have not had any major problems.

The phone number to re-order filters is on the back of the filter itself (the top of the frame, you may need to hold it under the light to read it). Also, I spoke to the manager of the parmacy we got the humidifiers from, and the manager keeps the filters in stock for us. If I don''t feel like going in person to the store, I order them online.

I have tried other brand humidifiers and not had as good a result in using them, as we have this brand and model. The others just did not raise the level of humidity to where it needed to be.

I give this one a four, because of the fact, yes it does spit water out around the opening. But it has not been a major problem for us.

Drano Max Gel, Clog Remover, 80-OunceOur sinks and bathtubs get clogged often with hair. This does the job every time, with one application. Really great product.

It dissolves things like hair.

But don''t try it in standing kitchen sink water, it won''t cut through food. The only thing that happened was it sat all night stinking up my house. Then I had to manually remove the clog by removing the pipes and cleaning them out, the whole time thinking about the stinky chemicals I was being exposed to.

My drain was clogged, so I went to Walgreens and bought this product. I poured some of it in my drain, it is no longer clogged. I am satisfied.

Want Drano Max Gel, Clog Remover Discount?

Bathtub took 2 hrs to drain, caused most likely by trapped hair. I dragged out what I could reach with needlenose pliers, then with that flexible plastic strip with hooks. But most of the clog was too far down to snag. Nothing I tried worked neither a plunger or baking soda and vinegar or compressed air, and I would have had to dissemble the drain to get a snake down it. I had given up and almost decided to pay the whacking cost of a plumber when I thought to try Drano. It worked like a charm and cleared the clog in less than half an hour. This is an excellent product and did not damage the pipes or the bathtub. Try it before calling a plumber.

  • A diverter valve near the aerator switches between filtered and unfiltered water.
  • More contact time means better filtration.
  • Designed in a attractive Beige housing, Filters 30,000 gallons

I have been using Crystal Quest water filters for about 8 years now.

This specific model can filter 30,000 gallons so will probably last 5 years at a rate of 10 gall per person per day.

You can''t beat the price with ANY other water filter or replacement cartridge on the market. There''s no need to replace this filter every month or so as it will last well over a year. Thanks to these filters, we drink a LOT of healthy, pure, great-tasting water for only pennies a day. I use this filtered water for cooking, making beverages, watering houseplants, etc. Try these filters; you won''t be disappointed.

Better filter design as well just two in/out ports. No water enters the enclosed filter once capped, so there''s no mildew growth under the cap unlike other water filter brands that have this issue.

The Electrolux EWF2CBPA Pure Advantage Refrigerator Water Filter was a breeze to order on Amazon and it showed up on time as promised.

Once the filter was recieved my 14 year old son then installed it when it came in using the refrigerators water filter installation instructions. Be sure to follow the WATER FILTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR MODEL OF REFRIDGERATOR! I have found instructions for refrigerators online prior to installing any water filters (I have 4 refrigerators I maintain).

In my experience "as a minimum" you should ALWAYS be sure to turn off the refrigerators built in automatic ice maker before removing the water filter, then I run several glasses of water through the refrigerators water dispenser. I do this using a large sized clean/clear water glass, and then run the water from the refrigerator dispenser until the water in the glass is coming out of the refrigerator dispenser clean and clear. Beware after several glasses filled with water that sometimes the water may look a little cloudy from air bubbles coming out of the refrigerator water dispenser, if this occurs let the filled water glass stand for a minute or so and in my experience it has always cleared up. I typically run no more than one gallon of water through the filter after it has been changed.

Note: I have always witnessed the second and third glasses of water the dirtiest out of my refrigerators water dispenser after changing the water filter. The black color is the Carbon Particulate off the filter (THIS IS NORMAL). Also note that if you forget to turn off the ice maker and do not dispense water correctly, what may happen is the automatic icemaker can cycle (make ice) and the blackish colored filter residue (Carbon particulate) will end up in your refrigerators ice dispenser. If this occurs you shouldn''t panic, run a few glasses of water from the refrigerator water dispenser to be sure the water is clear/clean. I would personally then dump out the ice for a couple of days or longer, just until the ice comes out clear/clean again (no blackish colored carbon residue from the filter).

If you have any questions of why Carbon is used in a water filter I found this on Wikipedia at the following web addressWater filter reviewed web address:

We ordered this filter, along with another, and are completely satisfied with the same quality we have gotten locally. The local company has gone away and we did not know where to find filters. We were pleasantly surprised to find them at Amazon; where we''ve order books and movies and now filters. Thank you, Amazon for offering the filters on your website.

I have tried many different filters at many different prices for our home water softener system. This filter provides the absolute best "bang for the buck". A 5 micron filter is really ideal for optimum filtration (lower than 5 micron filters don''t seem to last as long and higher micron filters don''t seem to perform as well) this filter takes out the "bad stuff" (sediment/iron/whatever) and lasts around the 3 month lifespan a decent filter should. A great value here.

The RO-Pure filter (and consequently the replacement filter pack) is fantastic. See the (currently) 100% 5 star reviews on Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System for more details. The 5 stars goes equally to the replacement filter set.

That said, I agree with the other reviewers that the price here (currently ranging from $71.35 w/free shipping, or $76.98 w/Prime eligibility) is not a good deal. Yes, you can order directly from Watts for about $65 plus $10 shipping (making it pretty much a wash, and I''d rather go with Amazon in that case), but I''ll point out that if you''re a Costco member (where you most likely purchased this unit in the first place), this 5 piece replacement filter set ordered online from them is only $50, with free shipping. So, you can guess where I order this from. Once more, however, just because the price isn''t great here does not mean that this product deserves anything less than a full 5 stars. This system is one of the best investments I''ve made in a long time, and these filters are super simple to swap out.

This is a great product from Watts replaces the old cartridge type that you need a wrench to open and replace the filter media. Easy to replace just a quarter turn to unlock and replace it with a new one in minutes. This kit is good for a year as per watts instructions, 2 first stage sediment filters (1 every 6 months) 2 second stage carbon filter (1 every 6 months) and a fourth stage carbon filter every year. The 3rd stage membrane filter is not included and needs to be changed every 2-5 years depending on water conditions. Yes its true you can buy it from costco for $49.99 plus tax as I did...but this is still a great product!

Clover B7A Hot and Cold Water Dispenser Save 18% Off

Clover B7A Hot and Cold Water Dispenser With Adjustable Cold Water ThermostatI purchased this unit for the convenience of dispensed hot & cold water. I based my decision on researching reviews both here and on other sites.

The product was purchased almost a month ago, I did not get around to installing it until recently as I was waiting for the bottle on the old cooler to empty. But people kept installing new bottles and I didn''t get the chance until a couple of days ago.

The item was received undamaged and in factory packaging. What I did not like was the absence of factory manuals. No problem, I downloaded the appropriate one from the factory website.

So far the product has given good service. The hot water dispensed is adequately hot and the cold water adequately cold. There is no sign of plastic tasting water, unlike other company''s coolers in investigated reviews.

There is no sign of leakage but the installed bottle does have a consistent habit of constantly bubbling as if the water has not settled. The amount of water dispensed from each spigot is a little weak. Not quite the dispensing strength of the older unit.

A side effect of this new dispenser is that everyone is now using it much more often than the old one. After two days the bottle is already more than half drained. This is going to impact future bottle deliveries. Maybe the usage will go down once the novelty has worn off.

The unit is also Energy Star rated, I do not purchase appliances unless they have this rating.

For anyone in the market for an economical hot/cold water dispenser I would recommend this model.

UPDATE (05/04/12)

Was in contact with the manufacturer regarding an item not specified in detail in the service manual.

My question to the company was "Is there an approved cleaning technique for this unit?"

I know how to clean water coolers but the service manual specifically warned against using other liquids other than bottled water. This would inhibit the standard cleaning techniques I know/use.

The prompt answer back from the company:

This is what we recommend:

1. 1 cap of bleach to ½ gal of warm water.

2. Pour a little in the tank and wipe down.

3. Soak the faucets and baffle in the solution.

4. Run a little of the solution through the entire system

5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, 2 gal at least.

I was relieved to see that the recommended technique is in line with known cleaning procedures for water coolers. But this is straight from the horse''s mouth.

Health protocol advises that this should be done approximately every two months.

I just thought that current and potential owners would like to know.

I needed a dispenser to replace my 4 year old GE unit. These Big Box units, which sell for a little over a hundred bucks, seem to last about 3-5 years with constant use. When I did my research of the current brands sold by the Big Box stores, I wasn''t thrilled with the reviews. None of them seemed to be particularly positive. So I continued to look for other alternatives, willing to pay a little more if I could find a unit that got better ratings. That''s when I found the Clover dispenser. The ratings were good and I was willing to spend a little more for it.

The unit itself is a standard water dispenser, with one hot and one cold spigot. Setup was easy: just clean the exterior, plug it in, and insert a bottle. (I''ve read that some other brands require more extensive cleaning, so the fast setup was nice.) One small negative is that the bottles seem to require a little more effort to insert onto the inner post than my previous units but that''s not a deal breaker. Water flow is very good for the cold side, faster than my previous units. The hot side seems about the same as previous units. One feature that this doesn''t have is an adjustable temperature feature, so if you want that, this isn''t the unit for you.

So far, so good. We''ll see if this outlasts the 3-5 years that previous units lasted.

UPDATE:

Have had the unit for about 8 months now. Still working well, although the flow from the hot water dispenser has slowed down. I suspect that it''s due to scale build-up in the unit. So, I went back to the (rather sparse) manual to find instructions on how to descale the unit...and all it says is to descale the unit (no actual instructions). I went to the company''s web site...and nothing. I emailed the company and was told to "follow the instructions for the descaling liquid." Huh??? After emailing them back, I got a response to "use any descaling product for coffee makers." When I asked for more explicit instructions (since a water dispenser is NOT a coffee maker), I got nothing. I''ve had other water dispensers, and they each had their own particular descaling instructions. As far as I''m concerned, that''s pretty poor customer service. So I''m reducing my rating to 3 stars.

Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System

Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System with Variable Brewing SystePros: it looks nice, it is good for brewing tea water is hot

Cons: unresponsive service; not supportive of customer, inability to repair machine, seller must have certified trained repair person, inconsistent amount of water, selected cup size irrelevant, selected brewing strength irrelevant

"I bought this from a local VT dealer. For the first couple of weeks the coffee was great strong as we like it. But then, quality completely changed and I had trouble with the brewing of the coffee thereafter. My local dealer wasn''t "trained by Bosch" to service and it took me from 2008 to 2011 to get a qualified service person to look at the machine. Bosch Customer Service sent new parts ahead for service and when they were replaced there was NO improvement. The serviceman deemed the coffee ''good'', but admitted he didn''t like or drink coffee! When I said that it seemed that the water wasn''t remaining on the pod long enough he didn''t know anything about it or the brewing process.

My son has a different built-in coffee maker, which is very good, and when mine was new, the coffee from it was comparable to his. But it didn''t remain good and there is nothing we can do to improve it. We''ve tried all kinds of beans to no avail. We have filtered water, apart from the Bosch filter.

Repeated calls to Bosch have told me that there is nothing further that they can do. I feel that a replacement is due to us at the very least...for an expensive coffee machine. My $9.99 coffee maker does a better job."

Looks good in our remodeled kitchen, and certainly brews a decent cup of coffee. However, whether for reasons of quality or use, it just doesn''t hold up well. Ours hit about the 2 year mark and just got very finicky: doesn''t grind, gives error message saying internal trays are missing when they''re not (and by the way, do you have any idea how annoying it is for a coffee maker to give you an error message? An erronious one?), and similiar problems. Local dealer doesn''t have properly trained personnel to repair, manufacturer customer service just notes that its out of warranty and probably not worth repairing. If it''s not worth repairing after 2 years, then it wasn''t worth buying in the first place. It''s like an electronic gadget that just won''t work anymore. Only this thing sits in my kitchen...mocking me.

Avoid at all costs...

Buy Bosch : TKN68E75UC Benvenuto Built-In Coffee System Now

If you like really strong expresso, this machine does not deliver. Even at the extra strong and small espresso settings, the coffee is quite strong but does not have that special espresso flavor. The water and expelled coffee container are too small and after 6 or 7 morning coffees, tray and grounds must be emptied. The directions say NOT to use extra dark coffee beans (which you only find out when reading the instructions after unpacking the machine) but then coffee would taste even less like espresso. Also, installed machine must be ventilated, which is another instruction discovered after unpacking. The Miele is quite a bit more expensive but having tasted the espresso at a friend''s house and found it to be excellent, wonder if I should not have paid the extra bucks.

After being installed and working for 2 days, the machine stopped working. Bosch customer service was excellent and scheduled a repairman out in a few days. Machine needed a new pump which had to be ordered. After the new pump was installed, still did not work so had to order a new brew box. Working fine now, but 2 main parts defective after 2 days, not good.

Just don''t like the fact that you have to constantly add water and empty the tray. A built in water line is ideal but you will spend an extra $1000.00 for the Miele. Not sure that money is worth it. Holmes HWF62 Humidifier Filter Save 52% Off

Holmes HWF62 Humidifier FilterThe wick based humidifiers, noise notwithstanding, are far superior to their ultrasonic counterparts due to the effectiveness and precision in controlling true relative humidity. I use vinegar, a cup to enough water to immerse the filter in a bucket not much wider than the filter diameter. The vinegar does away with the brown mineral deposits, and makes it as good and efficient as when new. Never let the water in the tank run out, and these filters, with weekly vinegar treatment, will last up to two months each. When the plastic housing begins to wear out, it is also about time you changed the filter. Folks who gave this product a low rating based on extraneous factors to do with the noise of the main unit should know better. These reviews are about the filter and not the main unit! Also, despite the antimocrobial properties, some mold formation is inevitable in humid environments, so I clean the main unit every few months with basic G, a shaklee product that destroys any mildew or mold residual in the unit, this includes the grille and the fan components.

The filters work fine but once the humidifier itself gets dirty/dusty, it is almost impossible to clean perfectly and therefore the filter indicator always considers that the filter needs to be changed even though it is new.

Buy Holmes HWF62 Humidifier Filter Now

The plastic housing for the replacement filter disintergrates when washed. When the filter dries, it becomes very hard. This is ineffective as the dial on the humidifier registers that this new replacement needs changing and this filter needs constant changing. The new extra replacement filters (2) that were purchased 6 weeks ago have almost doubled in price since that purchase. The humidifier should be sold with multiple filters and now becomes a bad investment. We do not recommend this purchase.

No fault of the filter. Its does its job.. But when you store your humidifier, the filter is usually useless to use again once it dries. It gets out of shape and discolors. Still, I like the filter option and when I purchase through Amazon, I normally buy two as the humidifier does not function without it because the vapors are drawn through the filter.

Holmes HM5305-UC Warm Mist Humidifier Save 40% Off

Holmes HM5305-UC Warm Mist HumidifierI believe this item has received unfairly low ratings from other purchasers. Perhaps these reviews are from purchasers who have never owned a humidifier before, or who didn''t bother to read the directions. I have owned three different humidifiers over the years, and this one has been overall the best.

I would agree the tank shape could stand some redesign. Like most humidifiers, you turn the tank upside down to refill, thus the top of the tank is best designed to conform to the shape of a tub or sink, so that it stays upright on its own while filling. This one does not do that, but it is still possible to prop it against the end of the tub to refill.

As for the other comments that have been made, of course it makes a gurgling noise. Water is dripping down into the base in order to be converted to steam. I have had the unfortunate experience of owning a humidifier that sounded like an 18-wheeler driving through my house--and believe me, this one is QUIET.

The only knocking noises I''ve heard were when the tank emptied while I was asleep and I didn''t shut it off, AND I hadn''t cleaned it in a very long time.

And of course the heating element is going to be hot right after you turn it off, and yes it could char a piece of wood if it came in contact with the heating element. The instructions CLEARLY STATE you must allow the heating element to cool before cleaning or refilling. I cannot imagine why someone would set something wet down on a wood table, or how the heating element came into contact with wood of one reviewer, as the heating element has a surrounding plastic framework that makes it difficult if not impossible to place anything directly against the heating element. Perhaps the user modified this plastic housing in some way.

Also, the tank cap has a mechanism that, together with the humidifier base, controls the amount of water that flows out of the tank. The only way this could malfunction and send water everywhere is if the cap was not screwed on properly (and just like a bottle of soda, if you don''t screw the cap on properly, the bottle will leak), or if it is not placed on the base securely.

I have not found the recommended cleaning to be an issue. But then, I use the recommendations as a guideline, not a requirement. How much you cleaning you have to do depends on the condition of your water and your performance expectations.

The recommended "daily" cleaning is basically to remove the base reservoir and dump out any water and accumulated sediment. I actually only do this about once a week, and I have very hard water (lots of clay sediment and calcium. I cannot drink tap water, its that bad.) The recommended "weekly" cleaning is to fill the base reservoir with vinegar and soak for 20 mins, and wipe down the heating element and surrounding housing to remove any calcium deposits. I actually only do this about every 3 months. Sometimes I actually have to chisel off the calcium from the heating element! And with all this obviously poor maintenance, I have noticed no diminished performance!

I''m not sure what the ''reboot'' requirement is, stated by one reviewer. The instructions clearly state that you should turn off the humidifier when you remove the tank for refilling, or when you are cleaning. This makes sense. Leaving it on without the heating element resting in a reservoir of water is like putting an empty pan on a hot stove burner. It will damage it. But turning it off for the few moments required for filling or cleaning is sufficient. No further effort is required. And I really don''t understand how one is personally offended by an inanimate object.

As for the size of tank, and how long it lasts, that all depends on the settings you use, and the size of your room. The 36-hour timeframe advertised by the manufacturer is at the unit''s lowest setting, as most manufacturers do. I keep mine set on low speed, with the humidity percentage at about 60%. This lasts 24 hrs. I definitely notice a humid feeling when walking into my bedroom where I keep the humidifer. My bedroom measures about 12'' x 18'', but I keep my bedroom door open always so the humidity isn''t just staying in my bedroom alone. The packaging states accurately that this humidifier is intended to serve a medium-sized room, not a whole house or very large rooms.

I really love the fact that this model does not require filters. I''ve had humidifiers that require filters, and of course you can never find the filter when you need one, and they are often very expensive. I''ve also had a humidifier that advertised no filter required, then upon reading the fine print inside the box, learned that while a humidifier was not REQUIRED, it really needed one to function properly.

I replaced my last humidifier with this one because the lat model I owned had no controls other than on/off, and pumped out so much mist it soaked everything around it, and was a cold mist model that did not keep the calcium deposits inside the reservoir--everything that got soaked by the mist ended up with calcium residue on it that was impossible to remove.

All in all, a very good model. The only thing I would like better is a domed-top model that could rest easily in the tub for refilling.

This product has gotten a LOT of negative reviews. I''m not sure why.

We bought this humidifier from a local store...the ONLY humidifier we could find in town. We needed a humidifier for our newborn, since he was getting some dry sinuses (poor little man!)

The model had obviously been returned, as it was repacked terribly and had no manual. No worry, though; the design is so simple that I figured out how to get water into it and get it working in about 3.5 minutes, even without the manual. It did drip a bit of water as I went to fill it, but is that REALLY a big deal? Maybe for some folks; not for us.

Anyway, as to the comment about "dead lifting" a gallon of water...a gallon of water weighs 8 pounds, which, let''s be honest, isn''t that much. I had to cringe when I read the "injured vet" comment; agreed, filling this tank would be very hard with one arm, but I imagine that a one armed person would buy a different model (say, one of the 30 others that Amazon offers). Could Holmes have made it better by making it top filling? Possibly, but in all honesty, this design works just fine.

Is it noisy? That depends on what you mean by "noisy". Let''s attack the question a different way: is it silent? No, it''s not. It makes (what my wife and I find to be) a nice gurgling sound, very similar to the humidifiers my mom used to use when I was little. However, I sleep better with a small amount of white noise, so those of you who are very light sleepers and/or need total silence might look at other models.

As to the comment about not producing enough moisture to get through the night...how much do you SLEEP? We fill the tank when we go to bed, and 8 hours later, it''s just about empty. That''s on the highest setting on both dials (max humidity and max fan), AND we live in a high desert area with hardly any ambient humidity to speak of. Just last night, we ran it on max fan and half humidity (our son''s sinuses are getting better) and the tank was still half full after 8 hours of sleep. I suppose if you sleep for more than 8 hours, or if you''re trying to humidify more than one room in the house, this might not be the one for you, but come on! It tells you right on the box that it''s good for A bedroom.

As far as the melting of the tanks I''ve read about...that''s terrible, but ours hasn''t done that.

I''ll give this humidifier 4 stars, not because it didn''t come with a manual, but because after calling them multiple times, Holmes still hasn''t sent me one (even though they''ve told me they will, and even given me other websites to check dedicated to replacement manuals which...surprise...don''t have the one for this model). Also, I agree that the "power down" "feature" IS stupid and, not having a manual, I thought I had broken this thing at first. However, one you know you have to do it, you just do it. it''s like turning off your PC: I bet we all thought it was silly to go to "start" and select "shut down" to turn them off...but we all do it now, don''t we?

Could it be better? Maybe, but I have no major complaints with it. You put water in, you turn it on, the room gets moist. Isn''t that what a humidifier''s supposed to do?

Just thought I''d post this, since it looks like the reviews are mostly one sided up to this point!

Thanks to my cold, dry apartment, I have chronic sinus infections. I bought this humidifier and it has been amazing the air is pleasantly un-dry and my nose is very happy! I definitely notice a positive difference now that I run this particular unit, and I can tell when it has been off all day (I only run it at night). :) It is easy to fill, easy to clean, and I kind of like the soft water sounds it makes as it ''percolates''. :) There was a lot of belly-aching about this product on other sites, but with proper use and care, it is a really worthwhile product.

I bought this humidifier a year ago. I like it because there are no filters to mess with. It''s easy to keep clean and sanitized. It takes just a few minutes to heat up and start steaming. It does make a little noise, but not enough to be bothersome at night, at least for me. Since using this humidifier, I''ve noticed my skin is not as dry in the winter and it has been really helping with my sinus infections. A year later and it still works great.

Regret buying it for my bedroom because every 60 seconds it sounds like a boiling teapot, only pours out mist like a volcano every 60 seconds, meaning it is not a steady QUIET flow...My old one lasted two winter seasons then broke...I am not very confident in the quality of Holmes Products since they seem to break every other season...
