Rejuvenate Cabinet and Furniture Restorer and Protectant

Rejuvenate Cabinet and Furniture Restorer and ProtectantI used the floor Restorer on the high traffic area of my wood floors and was happy with the result so I decided to try the Canbinet Restorer as well. First, this product yeilds a HIGH Gloss shine. If yu do not want a high gloss shine or your current surface is not high gloss and you are not adept at applying this evenly do not use it. I don''t mean to imply it is difficult to use because it is not, just that it may not be for everyone. Second, this product is labeled as a "Cabinet and Furniture" restorer. I used it on my stained (as opposed to painted) wood kitchen cabinets and it worked fabulously. I also used in on tops of certain wood furniture that had become scuffed. However, similar to the woman below I would not recommend using this on a kitchen or dining room table or any surface where you expect to have to clean it with chemical cleaners as it is not meant for that. It will come off/change if exposed to that. That being said my wood floors and wood cabinets stay looking great by cleaning with water or my wood floor water based cleaner or (on the cabinets) furniture polish. I''d recommend it if they are old before replacing or re-finishing try it... what have you got to lose?

I was out of options for my solid surface counter tops, so I tried Rejuvenate. It did the best job of anything I tried, there was a beautiful, high gloss and it holds up for weeks with just wiping with wet, soapy sponge. Even a mild bleach solution didn''t seem to ruin it. Anything with ammonia such as glass cleaner will kill it instantly however -cleaning the window above the counter you could see exactly where overspray hit the countertop. The only way to fix it was to give it a light sanding with a scrubby and re-apply. The real down side for me? I''m hooked on the shine, now I have to keep buying the stuff for when it wears off.

There are a lot of glowing reviews for this product, but read the caveats carefully. It might be all right for an old Formica countertop since those are practically indestructible and you can use a variety of products to remove the Rejuvenate later.

I made the mistake of using Rejuvenate Cabinet and Furniture Restorer on all my kitchen cabinets and moved on to the bedroom furniture without even knowing what''s in the product.

The cabinets and furniture looked shiny and pretty only as long as the product was wet. Once dry, there was no noticeable change or improvement in the appearance of the wood. Even days later the surfaces feel sticky and gummy, even a little gritty. If anything the wood seems drier than it did before using Rejuvenate. If I can''t find another product to get this OFF my furniture it''s going to be a real pain trying to remove the dust and dirt that will be virtually "glued on" the surfaces.

It might be alright as a temporary fix for something you are either planning to throw away or refinish anyway, but don''t use this on anything you want to use and keep as is. A little Old English Furniture Polish: Lemon Oil 8 OZ would be a much better option for your wood and just as easy to apply.

If you value your furniture steer clear of this!

I applied the product to my sealed cherry dining room table as instructed. Whenever I place a hot or cold item on the table (it is a dining room table, after all), even with placemats or other protectants, the finish turns a cloudy white that can only be removed with vigorous scrubbing with a wet cloth so as not to scratch the surface underneath. I am now looking for a way to remove the dull, spotty finish without having to spend hours scrubbing away. I do not recommend this product.

we were planning on using polyurethane to apply a gloss look to the cabinets. I saw the infomercial and noticed that the sell it at Home Depot, so I figure the $12 dollars was worth the try before all the work with the polyurethane. It took 2 hours to apply to a medium size kitchen (2 applications). The results were awesome! I tested a small area first and was so impressed, I jumped right in to complete the rest. I am now working on all the bathrooms. enjoy! Oh for reference, the cabinets were 3yrs old but very dull looking.

Hydro Life G 2625 Water Filter for HL 170

Hydro Life G 2625 Water Filter for HL 170 - Threaded
  • Installs easily under a kitchen or bathroom sink
  • Greatly reduces bacteria
  • Has a working pressure of 20-125 psi

This item is Hydro Life #HL-170 TF. The photo shown of this product is incorrect: it is a #3 and has threaded ends and no tube. Fortunately it is what I needed for my rig. It seems to work well at making drinking water taste good and it says it "significantly reduces" many contaminants that a carbon filter doesn''t. However, I cannot find any specific data. I even emailed Hydro Life but they never responded.

If you are near a Camping World and in their Presidents Club, it is $5 cheaper less any sales tax. It is about $8 cheaper at online RV suppliers but they charge $16 for ground freight. So if you are a Prime member, this is the best deal.

Filters good but it decreased my water pressure drastically. I bought this because the RV park I am staying in uses well water.

Breville BES820XL Die-Cast 15-Bar Programmable Espresso Machine

Breville BES820XL Die-Cast 15-Bar Programmable Espresso MachineLOVE this machine! I do not claim to be an espresso junkie or aficionado, but I am addicted to lattes and my morning habit was getting to be expensive so we bought this machine for Christmas. It''s AWESOME! One of my main criteria, besides great espresso, was a frothing wand that would really do the job, and this one does. It texturizes the milk beautifully and creates delicious, creamy froth for my lattes and cappuccinos. We''re still working to get the right grind and tamp combination, but I love that you can also use pods in the machine, which is fantastic for decaf! We drink regular espresso in the morning or afternoon, but every once in a while I want a cappuccino at night but it''s not worth keeping the decaf beans or emptying my grinder to replace with decaf so we keep decaf pods on hand for those rare evening cravings. Perfectly convenient! You have to be willing to experiment to get the right tamp/grind combination or your espresso won''t taste too yummy, but if you have some patience and try various combinations it really pays off. And I love the hot water wand heats very quickly and great for hot tea! Super easy to use, pretty easy to clean and maintain, and entirely worth the cost!

Notable stuff:

heats up quickly

advertises that the top of the machine serves as a warming station for your espresso cups, but it doesn''t get nearly warm enough to actually warm the cups (warm by filling with hot water from the hot water dispenser instead)

does not require the use of distilled or filtered water (in fact, the instructions say NOT to use distilled water) just use tap water and decalcify with vinegar occasionally

the drip tray is nice and large-was able to make 6 lattes, including rinsing in between each one, and drip tray still wasn''t full

water reserve is very large and holds plenty of water

"programmable" just means that you can program how large your single shot is and how large your double shot is so that once it''s programmed, you just have to push a button to make a shot of espresso eliminates the guess work that results in inconsistent shots

the pod attachment only works for single shots, as far as I can tell there are no double pods on the market and even if there were, I don''t think they would fit in the pod attachment

This is a review about the quality of the espresso the machine makes, and not about

the short or long term reliability of the machine, since I have only had it for about a month.

I bought coffee beans from a starbuck coffee shop and asked the barista to grind the beans for an espresso maker. Decided not to buy a grinder (since reviews on grinders seem to indicate nothing but trouble). The first results I got were disappointing. No matter how well I packed the 2 shot coffee filter, or how much coffee I packed into it, the pressure on the indicator dial never reached even the beginning of the "optimum" range.

Then I decide to ask the barista if they had a finer espresso grind. They said their finest was # "2". With that grind, I filled the 2 shot filter with coffee to the top of the filter, and packed the grinds as hard as I could. Started the machine. The needle started to rise, reached the optimum range, went all the way up the optimum range and beyond it before finally stopping when the machine stopped pouring coffee! I also noticed that the amount of coffee poured was somewhat less than 2 shots of coffee. Removing the filter holder from the machine, it was clear that the filter had water, that had not pressed through the coffee, mixed in with the spent grinds.

The next cup of espresso I made, I did not pack the coffee as hard, or fill as high. I left about an 1/8" between the coffee and the filter rim . That did it. After starting up the scale the needle stopped 3/4 up the optimum level scale, and the coffee it made looked like 2 full shots and, when I removed the filter holder the coffee filter was mostly dry! The espresso had a nice layer of crema, added a little Milk, lots of foam...perfect!

What did it for me was 1) the right grind, 2) the right packing pressure, 3) the right amount of coffee.

I hope this helps some fellow home baristas!

Forgive me if the tone of this review is a little grouchy, but I''ve gone without my morning latte for 3 weeks now, with two more to go, and that''s just the way it''s going to have to be.

I got my first Breville machine, a caffe roma, about a year and a half ago, and was very happy. It was a big upgrade from My Gran Gaggia in terms of design, quality and taste and I wrote a glowing review at the time of my purchase on Epinions. Unfortunately, it died about 4 months ago, and since they were no longer making the Roma, Breville replaced it with the BES820XL. I was really enjoying my 820 big step up from the Roma and I appreciated that Breville was willing to stand behind its product in that way. There was a little bit of a wait for the new machine, but not much. The 820 was a much more sophisticated machine and it took a little bit more Unfortunately, the 820 started to fail after about two months the water was leaking from the spout, and the coffee stopped pressurizing properly.

Again, I called Breville, and again they told me they''d upgrade the machine because the 820 was being discontinued and replaced by the 830. Unfortunately, The 830 was on backorder. At first I was told the delay would be three weeks; then I called back and was told it would be two weeks; and finally I was told 5 weeks! I made what I thought was a very reasonable request to Breville, which is that they upgrade me to the next model (same as the 830 except with a grinder) and I''d pay the difference between the two. Request denied, with no explanation as to why.

Breville, perhaps this sort of customer service policy makes sense for other products but sorry, not for coffee. I think that given the situation, there should have been a little less policy and a little more concern about making your customer happy. The good news is that you make a very good product for the money and you''re constantly working to improve them; the bad news is that your products are still a work in progress. Wouldn''t it make a little more sense to go the extra yard to keep your customers happy?? We''re talking coffee here.

I have had this machine for about 4 weeks and love it. It''s easy to learn, is made of high quality parts, and looks beautiful on the counter. Be careful with grind fineness, as we had some problems when coffee ground at Starbucks with their machine on "espresso" setting. Once you find the right grind consistency, the results are delicious and consistent. The steamer wand works extremely well and is easy to maneuver with the 360 degree swivel arm. This is a great espresso maker for the coffee/espresso lover.

This is a great espresso machine. Easy to use, AFTER you read the instructions. Cleaning is simple, the indicator on the spill tray lets you know when it''s full with "Empty Me!" I use the hot water function to warm up the cups and to make tea. I have never used a cappuccino milk steamer before, but this one is extremely simple to get a good milk froth. The mug warmer on the top of the machine works well, but only if you plan of having multiple uses as it takes a while to get the heat up to the mugs. The pressure gauge on the front gives you a good indication how well you are grinding the coffee, and tamping. I normally have the pressure gauge in the lower optimal range and it tastes very good. It does take practice to create the perfect method, so be patient. The water tank holds enough water to serve many people without refilling.

I also purchased a knock box, which I think completes the set. Removing the grounds from the filter can be frustrating without this specially made knock box. I bought the: RSVP Espresso Knockout Box and it works very well at a good price RSVP Espresso Knockout Box.

This is the old metal version of the panel. I have soft water and the metal corrodes or gets all junked up. The plastic version (from Home Depot etc) seems to last longer.

This humidifier panel is the perfect fit for my home furnace. At this low price you can afford to replace it every year. Excellent item.

Doulton SS Water Filter with 2 7'' Super Sterasyl Ceramic Filtersit''s a nice filter. as good as the more expensive ones with ''black'' filter elements.

It''s really fast ...as drip filters can be. on a two person house you only have to fill the top once every other day.

Only things i''d improve: the small faucet. it''s not practical, looks cheap.

And the price. Why those things are so expensive in the US?!

dimensions are 19" high, 8" diameter.

the model is GSS2, more specs (go to douton usa dor com)

UPDATE:

i''ve been on a trip for a little more then a month after i ordered the filter. After returning, I used the filter for 2-3 weeks and it started leaking.

The seller here simple ignored all my contacts. The manufacturer replied the first email just to say that they are not affiliated with any reseller.

the plastic in the spigot simply ripped away from the side-way force of turning the lever. the plastic had bubbles in it. really awful workmanship.

i''m now giving up on contacting the seller or manufacturer and am going to buy a replacement spigot.

Avoid. Pay a little more for another brand.

A GOOD UPDATE now:

found the perfect replacement faucet for this.and after the good one, A BAD UPDATE:

they wrote me an email asking to improve the rating here in exchange for a new faucet..... That''s low. Very low.

There are more expensive out there, I have a friend that has one of them. They cannot do any better than this one for what I want. Living in hurricane territory having the ability to have a good water filtering device is of most importance.

Aprilaire #4331 Distribution Tray Save 43% Off

Aprilaire #4331 Distribution Traythis product was listed as an aprilaire replacement part. when I recieved it the water distribution tray had a rubber or fiber gluded in strip with the bumps on it for water distribution.

the original had the bumps as part of the plastic strip. I emailed seller and they replied very timely stating it was aprilaire part but had no information on the strip.

When I had my furnace cleaned I asked my serviceman about this. He said he noticed this on recent units he installed. He believes they are like this because some people when cleaning the strip rub off the bumps thinking they were part of the dirt build up. This is what I had done hence ordering a new strip. The fiber strip is much more visible. I hope it will last so water can be distributed better.

I don''t know what all to write here, but this evenly distributes water in my whole house humidifier. I replace it every 2-3 years or as the situation demands.

KRUPSKT720D50 10 Cup Thermal Filter Coffee Maker Save 17% Off

KRUPSKT720D50 10 Cup Thermal Filter Coffee Maker with Stainless Steel Housing, SilverWe just purchased the Krups KT720D50 coffeemaker to replace a Zojirushi coffeemaker we have used for several years. After less than a week, the verdict is that the Krups makes a mighty fine cup of coffee both the "aroma" and the "classic" settings deliver a rich and flavorful cup of coffee; and the stainless steel carafe keeps it hot. An added plus is the glass lined carafe which gives you the best of both worlds no metallic taste infusing into the coffee and all the stay-hot benefits of a stainless steel carafe. The only negative is the water-filling system there is a small opening on top which could be a bit larger, or the entire water reservoir comes out. The latter is great for cleaning but impractical for filling. I also wish Krups had included a floating ball in the reservoir to make it easier to line up the water level with the number of cups being made. The brewing process also takes a little longer than with some other coffeemakers, but it is well worth the wait. This is a mighty fine coffeemaker.

Krups KT720D50 10-cup Thermal Coffee Machine

Features I Wanted

* Automatic drip machine that only brews coffee

* Brand known for coffee makers

* Thermal carafe

* Ability to control brew cycle

* Looks nice on the kitchen counter

* Excellent value

* Makes great coffee

Features I Did Not Want

* Integrated grinder

* Programmability

* Clock

This coffee maker is everything I look for in an automatic drip coffee maker. Although Krups makes several types of appliances, they are probably best known for their coffee makers. From an engineering perspective, I prefer products that are dedicated to a single process rather than trying to combine tasks (e.g., grind and brew) because there will almost always be compromises in the design that degrade overall performance and lifetime. Other than the ability to make great tasting coffee, the only features I wanted was an automatic shut-off and a thermal carafe. I did not need programmability because I want to turn it on right after I grind the beans. I also did not want a digital clock, which is really not necessary in today''s world and just becomes another thing to set or correct. The KT720D is tall, so make sure the distance between your counter and cabinets is adequate. Making coffee is fast and very easy. Some reviewers are frustrated with the water filling process. Perhaps this is because they do not want to remove the water reservoir, which is designed to detach for easy filling.

Bottom Line: If you want a good-looking machine that simply makes fresh delicious coffee that stays piping hot, this model is a great choice and an excellent value.

We replaced a Mr. Coffee thermal carafe coffee maker that I hated with this coffee maker when Mr. Coffee died. My husband thinks the pieces are a bit flimsy like the other reviewers, but I don''t think they are any more flimsy than the Mr. Coffee parts that held up for a few years. Reviewers talked about the difficulty of filling the water, but I don''t think that is a problem. It is a little different than the ones where you pour water into a fixed area from above the coffee maker, but I like that I can remove the container, fill it at the sink and pop it back in. My husband prefers to fill the carafe and pour it in the hole in top. This wasn''t a problem at all despite what other reviewers wrote. I also like that you can easily clean every part of the inside of this coffee maker that comes in contact with coffee. I worried about my Mr. Coffee because I know there had to be gunk inside where I couldn''t clean. The coffee tastes great and brews fast, and the coffee maker looks stylish on the counter. This doesn''t have a timer, but that isn''t a problem for me. Overall, we are very happy with this coffee maker in the few days that we have had it.

This is my first Krups coffeemaker and I am very pleased with its construction, design, and functionality.

PROS:

Makes delicious coffee

Looks elegant

Easy to fill up water tank reservoir

Easy to operate

Stainless steel thermal jug has excellent thermal insulation properties

CONS:

Brushed stainless steel attracts fingerprints

Thermal jug is opaque (e.g. difficult to readily ascertain remaining amount of coffee)

DESIGN:

This is a very tall coffeemaker (15" height), so make sure you have enough room underneath your cabinets. It features a swooping curved design with tasteful black plastic and swaths of brushed stainless steel. Unfortunately, the brushed stainless steel does attract fingerprints!

The water reservoir has clear demarcations on the side so that users will easily be able to see how much water they''ve added to the tank. The water reservoir is easy to fill; either the entire tank can be detached with the single press of a button on the front face or water can be added via the intake hole at the top.

OPERATION:

Press one of two buttons and you have coffee in 10 minutes. I think the "Aroma" setting gave a slightly stronger taste, but it wasn''t significantly stronger. The stainless steel thermal jug was excellent at keeping my coffee warm. After brewing coffee in the morning, I came back 7 hours later and it was still hot (the machine was unplugged from the wall socket). The tradeoff and downside of this thermal jug is that it''s not easy to ascertain the remaining coffee level thanks to the opacity.

CONCLUSION: A nicely built and easy to operate coffee maker that looks elegant. Perfect for any kitchen. Lives up to the Krups name.

Want KRUPSKT720D50 10 Cup Thermal Filter Coffee Maker Discount?

Earlier this year I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect coffee maker. Krups KT720D50 10 Cup Thermal Filter Coffee Maker, Black/Stainless Steel comes pretty close.

For one thing, it is a very nice looking addition to the counter. If something has to be there, why not have it look nice, right? On top of my wish list for a perfect coffee maker is a thermal carafe. That is what frustrated me in my search for the perfect coffee maker. The only one I could find was the same model as the one I already owned. It did indeed hold twelve cups, but it was mysteriously temperamental and I would sometimes find that coffee that had leaked all over my counter. I was always careful to check that the carafe was seated properly under the drip, but it was almost as if the thing knew when I had no time for its fussiness. When I had a houseful of guests for instance....

This looked like it would be a fairly suitable replacement, despite the fact that it doesn''t hold quite as much coffee as I wanted to make each morning. For us, 12 cups is perfect, as it means we each get 2 large mugs full and a little left over..With ten cups, I have to pour skimpy servings if we have guests. Since my primary concern however was a thermal carafe that would allow the machine to shut off immediately after brewing, and keep the coffe both hot and tasty, this seemed like a good compromise. It does all of those things. I agree that it is a little bit on the fiddly side, when it comes to the reservoir. I can''t just pop it in easily every time, but that is a good trade off to have a reservoir that comes out. I think that is worth having to jiggle it around now and then. Often, trying to fill a coffee maker that lives under the counter can be frustrating.

This Krups KT720D50 10 Cup Thermal Filter Coffee Maker, looks good, and makes good coffee. It keeps it warm and tasty, since there is no need to keep it on a warmer where coffee can begin to taste burnt or bitter. If it held more, it would be perfect for my needs.

BISSELL Flip-!t Select Hard Floor Cleaner Save 18% Off

BISSELL Flip-!t Select Hard Floor Cleaner with Heat, 7340Whether I used a regular mop and bucket, my swiffer wet jet, or my hoover steam vac, I always ended up with a haze on my hardwood floors that I would clean off with a wipe or furniture polish. This is the first machine that leaves my floor shiny and without a haze. It is worth it just for that!!! I also like the job it does on my lineoleum. The first couple of times I used it on what I thought were clean floors because I had recently mopped them, I was surprised at how dirty the water was. After using this as my primary means to clean my floors (two maybe three times a week depending on traffic and what is going on in my household) I notice that my floors not only look cleaner, but also feel much cleaner on the few occassions when I am not wearing house slippers. This is so much better than the regular mopping.

I have read other reviews on the flip-it regarding water being left on the floor; when that does happen, I just go back over that section so that it will be taken care of. For the most part I don''t care about a little water on the floor because I would have so much more if I had the mop and bucket or used my steam vac. I am sold!

I was torn between the Hoover and Bissell models each seemed to have good and bad points. So I got both, with the idea that I''d return the one that was less capable to do the job. What I found was that both have different pluses, and ended up keeping them both.

The Spinscrub has the advantage in cleaning power. The spinning brushes do a better job on getting tile floors clean, especially rough surface tile. It''s also more sturdily built feels more solid (although that sometimes does not translate into longevity). It''s the one I use for large tile expanses, such as in the kitchen and basement. But, the 15 inch width is a drawback in tighter spaces, such as bathrooms.

The Flip-it excels in maneuverability perfect for getting around obstacles (such as the toilet). Although it lacks spinning brushes, it has the advantage of a cloth pad which does a great job on smooth surfaces. The heat also helps out, especially with sticky messes. It doesn''t turn the water to steam, but clearly kicks up the temp (I believe the spec''s say 25 degrees).

I found the best way to use it is to start with the cloth pad attached. That helps even out the water distribution and also helps capture crumbs, pet hair, etc. After one pass with the cloth attached, remove it and put in the scrubby pad. That helps get the floor 99% dry (smooth surfaces) or 90% dry (rough surfaces).

The cloth pad really shines (no pun intended) when it comes to hardwood or laminate floors. Does a far better job than the Hoover in cleaning and water suction. I don''t use the Hoover at all anymore on smooth floors regardless of the size of the room. It may take a bit longer with the Flip-it due to its smaller size, but the end result is much better.

Both are about equal when it comes to disassembly and cleaning a few parts to take out and clean, but nothing major. Cleaning the unit after using it is very important to keep the crud out of the seals to prevent leaks and clogs. Both have a washable filter, and both require that you dry the filter before using it again (tip get an extra filter so you''re never without a dry, clean filter).

I tend to favor the smell of the Bissell cleaning solution, but the Hoover stuff is pretty good both have a nice "fresh" smell. Both brands clean equally well, and are priced about the same. Lowes carries the Bissell brand; Walmart carries Hoover (at least in my area).

Bissell tends to be a nicer company when it comes to support. They offer replacement parts and supplies on their website at reasonable prices, and answer emails if you have questions. Hoover is not as responsive, and their direct-purchase prices are rather high.

One nit with the Bissell is that the cord is rather stiff wish it was more flexible. Also, the water cups (both clean and dirty) are smaller on the Bissell, so you need to fill-up and dump out more often than with the Hoover.

Regardless of which one you get, get one! You''ll be amazed at the amount of dirt that wet mopping leaves behind. Once you start using one, you''ll never pick up a mop again.

Buy BISSELL Flip-!t Select Hard Floor Cleaner Now

I used the Bissell Flip-It Select for the first time tonight. I detest mopping, but with a combination of both linoleum and tile floors in my house, it is a must. So in looking for an alternative to mopping, I hoped for the best with this product. I was not disappointed. Vacuuming first with the dry vacuum side is an excellent alternative to sweeping the floor. After using the wet vacuum side with the heated solution/water mixture, not only was my bathroom linoleum (which had a thick build up of sticky hairspray) cleaned marvelously, but also my tile kitchen floor. The unit is lightweight and easy to use. The filter did get clogged with dirt and hair, but the sound of the motor changed when the suction stopped, so I unplugged it and cleaned the dirty wet/dry container and filter, put it back together, plugged it in, and suction was completely restored. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase after only one use. I will recommend it to friends and family alike.

This machine is so easy to use! I love the option of cleaning my tile floors with heat or no heat, depending on the grime! The mop pad works very well on my sealed hardwood while the brush worked excellent on my grout! I didn''t have to go over anything twice and my floors looked great when I was finished! The "flipping" action is also very easy as this machine is lightweight! I love not having to use a mop and bucket and its even better now that this product offers heated cleaning! Great job!

Want BISSELL Flip-!t Select Hard Floor Cleaner Discount?

I have carefully analyzed all the reviews (positive and negative) before deciding to buy this product in order that the right level of expectation may be set. My need is very simple. I have almost all hard floors in my house, either tile or hardwood. So floor keeping is a relatively low maintenance chore. I know Flip-It serves both as a dry vacuum and wet mop. Knowing that both dry and wet debris are going into the same place and I want to eliminate the messy task of cleaning out the wet gunk, so I opt to use the cleaner solely as an electric mop.

I like the idea that while it is mopping, the machine can also take care of the small amount of debris that I missed in my "pre-mopped" vacuuming. It does take some practice to get the machine to do the job right. Although I don''t have the problem of puddles of water as other have experienced, I have other issue such as the cleaning pad kept sliding out. I find the maneuvering quite exhausting due to the squeegee design. Also, my finger gets very tired from squeezing the solution release button. I don''t find the cleaning result dramatic perhaps because my floors are normally quite clean. The machine will not get to the wall edges so it won''t eliminate manual laboring. I''m also not sure if the heating feature does anything to produce a cleaner floor since the water temperature does not felt very warm. After two days of experimentation, I decided that the machine is going back to the store. For light mopping, I am going back to my Swiffer Wetjet. It is cheaper, quiet, lighter, easy to use, and best of all, no cleaning up required.

Better to put it in the water, but it floats so you might have to weigh it down with rocks. My first one lasted less than a year; the second one lasted only 5 months. The UV light connector is fragilefirst one broke, second one frequently came loose so light would stop working, resulting in a massive algae bloom before I discovered something was wrong. The main plastic housing split open where the lid screws on, rendering the unit only marginally effective. Electric cord keeps shorting out, have to reset circuit breakers several times per day. It essentially "works" but not well and not for long. I won''t be buying another one.

I purchased this item for a small 200 gallon pond. And after 6 months i really wish i didnt spend the money. It doesnt keep the water clear from algae, it reduces the pressure and the volume of water dramatically. The filter does not work as it said it does. Went back to my old flow filter and use algae stop. Clear pond.

I use 2 PF1200UV filters in a 1500 gallon fish pond. Worked great with a combination of waterfall and aerator. Took approx. 1 week to turn the water crystal clear and maintained continuously. I clean the filters every 2 weeks. Recommend to use a bypass manifold to regulate flow between filter and waterfall to get the most out of the pumps.

Best biological filter I have owned.

BISSELL Steam Mop Select, Titanium

BISSELL Steam Mop Select, Titanium, 94E9TI''ve been using this steam mop for the last month or so to clean all the floors in the house. Out the box, it''s incredibly simple to put together, just put the pieces in and you''re ready to go. It''s easy to mop as well. All you need to do is put one of the two white mops on, put water in the blue container, plug the machine in, wait 30 seconds for it to warm up, and you''re ready to go.

It does a wonderful job in cleaning any dirt and I haven''t had a problem spots that I couldn''t get out by using the steam mop. I love that it has a triangle head so that I can get into the corners really easily. The covers (that are machine washable) work really well. I do take them off about halfway through the kitchen to rinse them off in the sink so that they stay fairly clean while I''m washing.

My only complaint is that the cord is not long enough. When doing the kitchen, I have to unplug it and move to a different plug because the cord is not long enough to reach the other end of the room. But other than that, I have no complaints and I''m extremely happy with the steam mop.

My kitchen floor is textured vinyl with crevices everywhere. Nothing I tried got the floor clean in one pass until now. This little steam mop made my day! No more going over and over the floor to get it clean. The steam even cleaned out the crevices. And I, for one, do NOT miss the "clean fresh smell" of Pine Sol (gag!).

I have never owned a steam mop before and have always wondered whether it would be worth the money or not. I saw this and grabbed at the chance to own it. Upon arrival I open up the box and quickly put it together and this is with me being 8 months pregnant. If you have put this types of items together before you probably won''t even need to look at the instructions it is so easy. Most of my floor is tile downstairs and then I also have some wood. Up unto now I have been using the Swiffer. The steam mop comes with 2 pads and has a triangle shaped head. The water tank is see through so you can easily see how much water is left in it. I was a little concerned about the size but it did three rooms in my house easily and was not empty at the end. It is a light and easy to use model. The steam came out quickly and before long my whole floor was mopped. As with all mopping you have to sweep the floor first before you mop to get a good clean. I just used tap water and it worked fine. The reason I gave it 4 stars is for two reasons: 1. I would have liked a longer cord. It is not a bad length but an extra couple of feet would be better for getting around those corners without have to unplug. 2. You have to hold all the steam switch all the time while you are mopping to get a constant flow. The steam stops coming after a couple of seconds.

Overall this is a great product. I am not sure I will be throwing my swiffer out the door just yet as I do miss that clean smell and also having to wash the mop heads will just annoy me at times but I do plan on keeping a steam mop in my cleaning products. I am sure that it is better for the environment and also my purse. Overall I like it and if I ever need another one at some point I would consider getting it again.

Wow! I am amazed at the quality of this steam mop.

I admit to having never owned a steam mop before, though I am not sure why I never did. I have hardwood floors, and this mop did a fantastic job of cleaning them without ruining the staining. It also really good on lineoleum -it picks up kitchen grime nicely and it does not leave a residue. I am so excited to have received this product, and highly recommend it.

Overall, I think this is a nice steam mop. Definitely preferable to getting down on my hands and knees with rags!

The set up for this mop is easy. Within a few minutes of opening the box, I had it ready to use (it comes in 3 pieces and you just have to pop them together and then fill the tank with water). Next, I spent a couple of minutes looking for the on/off button, but after consulting the instructions realized that there is not one. Once it is plugged in, it takes 30 seconds to warm up and then it is ready to go.

I was a bit confused about the steam part of the mop at first and had to consult the manual again. Unless you are holding the steam trigger down, steam does not come out (it would just be a wet pad on the bottom). I was surprised to learn that in order to sanitize an area of your floor you have to have the mop on that spot for a minimum of 15 seconds with continuous steam.

Since I wanted to benefit of the steam while I was mopping, I held down the trigger the whole time which cramped up my hand. This is the main reason why I did not give this mop 5 stars because it does not have a setting to have the steam continuously on.

My floors looked great after mopping. I was most impressed by the mops ability to remove a paint scratch that was on our hardwood floors (I used the pad with built-in scrubbing strips for this).

Other things to note:

I read in the product description online that you can use normal tap water but in the users manual and on the tank it recommends you use distilled water to "prolong the life of your Steam Mop."

The mop pads are machine washable for reuse and have a nice bungie cord fastener for easy on and off.

The tank looks really small but I was able steam my entire kitchen without it running out.

The triangular shape of the mop head is nice for getting into corners.

It is light, compact and easy to store.

SPT SF-610 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler Save 17% Off

SPT SF-610 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with IonizerThere are so many things wrong with this unit that I''m surprised I''ve managed to remember them all. Some other reviewers have touched base on them already, but here are the details:

* You put water and/or ice in the top of the unit; you cannot put water where the ice is and vice-versa. The area where you pour water into is about 3x2 inches in size (yes, really!), while the area for ice is about 7x3 inches. You literally need a funnel or a small plastic tube to fill the unit up with water (see below). But it gets worse...

* Easily the biggest flaw: the water/melted ice goes down a tube and literally into the casing of the unit! There is no water tank, or centralized hold for liquids. The entire bottom of the unit is the "tank", if you can even call it that.

* The two cooling packs provided contain some sort of cheap coolant liquid inside of them -they do cool quite well, but here''s the problem: they''re physically too large. The cooling packs are dropped into the bottom of the casing (where the water is), right into the water. They don''t mount inside anywhere.

* The "door" for the cooling packs is too small for my hand (and I have small hands), which makes removing the cooling packs impossible. It took me a good 5 minutes using a pair of plastic pliers to grab a pack and remove it. The door is held shut with magnets, which is admittedly nice. But the door empties right into the water "tank", which means you might as well fill it up from the side and not the top! What were they thinking when they engineered this thing?!

* Water pump is a pump intended for aquariums. If you open up the back of the unit (which you have to do for water filter cleaning; see below), you can peek inside and see quite clearly printed on the pump "AQUARIUM PUMP". Most aquarium pumps I know are loud, not soft/quiet nor do they hum; and because the pump is screw-mounted to the bottom of the unit (which is plastic), I''m left thinking the entire unit must vibrate heavily when powered on. This makes you question the production quality of this item.

* Water refill line is recessed deep inside the unit due to how the plastic casing is molded; it''s impossible to read, and it''s incredibly important (see above) to not go above a certain fill line. If you go above the line, water will start to come out of the front of the unit, and the rear of the unit (bottom of where the air filter starts).

* The air/lint filter on the back is easily removable. However, to clean the water filter, you must remove 6 screws and proceed to wiggle/wobble plastic pieces until you pull the back of the unit out. Why screws? Why not some retention plastic, or a clip? Better yet, why not magnets like the ones used on the coolant door? You cannot remove it entirely, because attached to it (permanently) is a bright orange hose connected somewhere within the unit; it has no slack. You need 3-4 hands to do this job.

* The water filter itself is what looks to be nylon webbing, identical to what some people use in a clothes hamper. It''s just some cheap mesh with some Velcro on it so you can remove it semi-easily.

* Manual states you must clean the water filter every 2 weeks. Yup, you get to disassemble the unit that often. Fun for the whole family?

* Much to my amusement, the drainage spout (if you need to drain the unit) is directly behind where the AC power cord is. Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea?

Should you avoid this product? Absolutely. I''m left wishing I could give this thing negative stars; seriously, SPT should be ashamed for engineering something like this. I realize it''s somewhat inexpensive, but what you get for under a hundred US dollars isn''t even worth it.

It has everything you want of a fan timer, 3 speed, variable direction, remote control, but don''t think this will in any way reduce the temperature in the room at best you get a fan with built-in humidifier.

It comes with ice packs, but using these doesn''t make any difference either, and good luck getting them back out after using them the hole you have to drop them in is the same size as the ice pack, so once you get your hand in there and get a grip on them, you can''t get your hand back out.

Update: Died after less that two years.

Even living somewhere where it is very low humidity (usually less than 10%) it does not cool enough to make it worth the noise. The noise actually kept me up at night. Get a normal fan instead it will work better in the long run.

This lilttle fan/cooler is good. First it kinda takes you back because it resembles and old home furnace but in a modern twist. This cooler works just fine for us in our living room. Which is on the small size. Now this thing isnt gonna make you cold or do the work of a real cooler but its better than a fan and it has many settings to help you adjust it just rite. The ionizer is a great feature. Im not sure how well or how much it ionizes but there are times you can tell its working. Overall I do recommend this product to anyone who needs a little help cooling down and doesnt want to spend Air Conditioner prices. Remember this little guy is great but if youre looking for a major cooling effect this isnt the item for you.

I completely agree with the prior reviewers regarding the blatant design flaws of this ''cooler''. It''s basically a badly designed under performing room fan. If you are looking for a real swamp cooler do yourself a favor and buy another product.

The water filter housing seems to be of good quality, and it looked like a bargain for a transparent one. However the description is incorrect as the in/out are not 3/4", but 1/2". I had to buy two brass 1/2" to 3/4" adapters ($8-$9). No cheap PVC adapters were available.

We have a Generalaire whole-house steam humidifier in our basement, which works great to maintain the humidity in our house at about the 40% level during the heating season. (Without humidification the humidity drops to 20% or less). We have city water, but before the filter was installed the humidifier would continually clog (every couple of weeks or so) and we would also need to regularly replace the cylinder (not cheap) due to the buildup of impurities. Our heating contractor suggested installing the water filter to help with these issues, and it has really worked. We now need a new cylinder only once per heating season and the humidifier is running much more reliably.

A nice feature on this cartridge is that there is a bubble on the side that you press at the time of installation, and it gives a visual indication of when 3 months and 6 months have passed, which is helpful in signaling when the cartridge should be changed again.

We have this installed at the kitchen sink to filter water for drinking and cooking. We are very satisfied with the product and can easily tell the difference between filtered water from the kitchen tap vs. unfiltered elsewhere in the house.

The cartridge is constructed of high quality, thick plastic. Very easy to change, just a simple turn and the old one pops off and the new one can be inserted. The bubble "timer" is great!

I bought this filter for the office drinking water. Once the initial installation is completed, surely there is no easier cartridge to change out. Just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one.

With the filter system I use at home, it is much more difficult to change out the cartridge.

On the other hand, the cartridges I buy for home cost less, so there is some trade off. Cost is the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5. I recommend it.
