Viking 12-Cup Coffee Maker Save 36% Off

Viking 12-Cup Coffee MakerJust to start, I''m extremely cynical and I don''t subscribe to the idea that just because it''s expensive makes it the best. I must admit, this is the best cup of coffee I have ever made. I just received this coffee maker (via Zappos,) as Amazon isn''t shipping direct yet. I''ve been drinking my coffee virtually the same way for 25 years, so my test this morning contained the same coffee, measurements, and ingredients I have always used. I went through the steps as directed by Viking, and the end result was a hotter, deeper, zero-bitter cup of amazing coffee.

*Side Note: Even though this coffee maker comes with a filter, always use filtered water. We have HIGH mineral content water, so this is something we have always used anyway. Viking states, that not doing so with this kind of water, will void the warranty. The coffee maker will tell you when it''s time to "de-calcify" (this may or may not occur when using filtered water).

There WILL be a bit of a time-consuming (roughly 30-40 minutes) initial process you WILL need to invest in so don''t intend on having that first cup if you are pressed for time. There is an initial "priming" (using roughly 2 cups of water), then a "first 10-cup brew" of just water only (for cleaning purposes). After that, you''re ready for clock set-up, auto programming, and finally time to brew! I used the reusable filter that comes with it instead of the usual non-bleached disposable filters, and I have nothing negative to say about it.

As far as our usual process, we use our favorite whole-bean coffee and grind it in a burr grinder at the finest setting.

Is it worth $300.00? If the flavor, temperature, and dependability of the machine all hold up, it will be a resounding yes. I will update this review over time to let you know for sure.

SIX-WEEK UPDATE: Still impressed, no regrets! Overflowed once (my fault) I filled the water tank over the fill line when I selected the 12-cup serving. If I had one criticism, it would be how slowly it pours when opened to the "o" mark. I''m assuming Viking made it an intentional feature in order to keep the remaining coffee hot which it does. Obviously, one can take the lid completely off to remedy that.

**FLASHING "dcl": So it finally said it was time to decalcify. Easy process, but allow yourself ~20 minutes to do this. The only thing that wasn''t covered in my instruction book was how to get the "dcl" to quit flashing after the process was done. It''s not automatically detected YOU NEED TO PRESS THE "ON" BUTTON, THEN HOLD DOWN THE "BREW" BUTTON (NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY) FOR A FEW SECONDS TO CLEAR IT. Hopefully newer packaged instructions will show this. Still no regrets! **Don''t forget to replace the filter in the reservoir.**

You''d expect a bit more for $300 carafe leaks everywhere when you pour the coffee. Who the heck tested this product at Viking??? Do not buy looks pretty But doesn''t pour correctly!!!!

That was my original review. After speaking to Viking I learned that I had to keep it on the open (o) position and not between the locked and open, while pouring, as their directions state. Works GREAT no more leaks and it''s such a great looking coffee machine! They just need to correct their directions.

The only good thing that I can say about this machine is that is brews a hot pot of coffee. Other than that, it has been a huge disapointment. While the carafe is wrapped in a stainless strip, the balance of the unit is made of the sort of plastic and in a similar design as a $30-$60 machine. At half the price this machine would be over-valued

Some features that have been particularly irksome:

1.) The filter is ill-fitting and surely cannot actually filter as the water easily by-passes the filer

2.) The machine is noisy it emits a pulsing / grinding noise every 10 seconds while brewing

3.) The carafe does not fit well under the spring-loaded brewing area

4.) The electronics (at least on the machine I''ve purchased) are fickle and every morning I have to run through a combination of unplug, plug back in, hit program, specify number of cups, on-off, etc to try to get the thing to go to work.

This coffee maker may have the Viking name plate but do not expect it to be anything close to the quality of your Viking stove or fridge.

We started looking for a reliable, high-quality coffee maker after our Krups XP2070 failed us (will not power on) after two years, and our Krups KM7000 grind-n-brew after 13 months (leaked, shipped in for repair, then jammed). We were willing to spend a little more money for a higher quality, reliable coffee maker this time around.

There seems to be a gap in the market between the lower-end (Cuisinart, Krups, etc) and the high end (>$700), then we stumbled on this Viking 12 cup coffee maker. We know of the Viking brand, but had never owned a Viking product so we weren''t sure if their quality matched their price.

We took the plunge and ordered and received our Viking coffee maker about two weeks ago, so this is an initial impressions review. When it quits working we''ll update this review with our post-mortem thoughts (which we hope won''t be for a long time).

Initial impressions are very good. It looks nice and feels high quality the fit and finish matches our expectations for the Viking brand. The front and carafe are stainless steel, and the sides are a high-quality metallic looking plastic. Initial priming was quick and easy. We like the side loading water canister and coffee filter since our old coffee makers were filled from the top and we had to pull them out from under our kitchen cabinet everyday to fill them. It''s not loud, but you will hear a couple of water pump sounds during its brew cycle. The carafe doesn''t spill, which surprised us because all of the Krups glass carafes we''ve owned, invariably spilled (almost by design..grr) it''s amazing how nice a non-spilling carafe is! :) The carafe is insulated and keeps coffee steaming hot for hours -it''s still drinkable warm in mid-afternoon.

The water is hot and the brew is good. Yum. It took about 4 days to dial in the correct coffee strength (tip: use the # of cups to control the amount of coffee you make, not the amount of water you add to the water canister. )

The only improvement we can think of is a chime at the end of the brew cycle to let us know the coffee is ready.

It''s not feature packed, but after our previous experiences we were looking for less features in exchange for good product design, quality and reliability. Overall we are very happy with our new Viking coffee maker and at this point enthusiastically recommend it.

When I first started using the product it seem to take long to brew. Within two weeks the product failed completely. Because it was used, regarless of how little, it could not be returned to AMazon. They did not care.

A call to Viking met with rude people; however, one person promised a complete new coffe maker, but it would take 6-weeks. I agreed to wait. Surprise, surprise a partial unit arrived in two weeks. When I opened the box, it was clear this unit had been used:Viking did not even try to clean it or to buff out the scratches and dents before sending it me. Someone else had returned a damaged unit. And it just was sent to me. Follow-on calls to Viking are all met with not my problem call this number (I now have 7 different 800 for Viking in the and out of the US). Finally after hours on the phone, I got someone to listen. Send many detailed pictures which got me a third unit that did not work.

Unless you have money to toss away, do not purchase this unit.

Mr. Coffee JWX9 5-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Save 38% Off

Mr. Coffee JWX9 5-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black with Stainless Steel CarafeI''ve used my Mr. Coffee JWX9 5-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker daily for the last month. It brews good coffee at the right temperature for me, and the "five-cup" capacity is just right to fill my 20 oz travel mug as I head out for work. The basket is easy to load/unload (I use flat-bottom paper filters) and the stainless steel carafe is both durable and easy to clean. I''ve noticed no unpleasant tastes but I brew only with Brita-filtered cold water and custom-ground coffee from Starbucks. I also run white vinegar through every six weeks or so to keep everything clean.

It''s hard to find fault with a $25 kitchen appliance that does its job day-in and day-out. But I will anyway. First of all, coffee seems to burn faster in the stainless steel carafe than it did in the glass carafe from my previous 4-Cup Mr. Coffee. I don''t recommend leaving coffee on the burner for longer than 15-20 minutes after brewing. Trouble is, as other reviwers pointed out, coffee gets cold in the carafe pretty quickly when it''s removed from the heat. It''s also a bit tricky to pour water into the reservoir depending upon how the unit is situated on your counter. I''ve missed a couple of times and had to cleanup with a towel. And while you can tell that brewing has stopped by listening (the brew cycle is kinda loud), a "finished" indicator light would be nice especially for consumers who are hearing impaired.

I recommend this appliance and would buy another one.

When I saw this I immediately purchased it because I thought it would be a perfect size and unbreakable. Our last glass pot in our last coffeemaker was shattered. My husband''s main problems with this are that the reservoir has such a small opening that pouring water into it is awkward, and the coffee burns in the carafe if left in there after brewing. It seems like you have to immediately pour the coffee into your cup and turn it off or you get burned coffee in the pot. This was a problem because when it was programmed to make coffee in the morning, my husband felt like he had to run and get the coffee poured into his thermos or he would have nasty tasting coffee for the day. No leisurely cup of coffee in the morning! The stainless steel is a good idea but it just doesn''t work the way you think it would. We returned it.

First, a little background. My old Mr. Coffee maker died after many years of excellent service. It was the thermo-carafe type. I usually make coffee in the morning, drink a few cups and that''s it. I went thermal because with granite counter tops...there''s no forgiveness with glass. The slightest tap and...shatter!

This maker seemed as close as I could get to my old one and I was looking for a slightly smaller unit. Be forewarned...this coffee maker is VERY small. There is no "standard" for how many ounces there are in a "cup" of coffee. You''ll read it could be anywhere from 4.2 to 6 oz. (You can''t equate coffee cup with measuring cup.) The bottom line is this carafe holds 24 oz of liquid, that''s 4.8 oz per coffee "cup." If you use a mug, as I do, you''ll get two fills out of a pot. I would say this is a good coffee maker for a once-a-day use by one individual or for a private office. It''s won''t do if you entertain a lot or have multiple coffee drinkers in your household. The quality of the coffee is fine and I''ve never let the heating element on long enough to see if it overheats the coffee. (This carafe is not insulated.) The digital display is also hard to see, but I never use it as clock or time my coffee to brew.

I hate this coffee pot. Don''t buy it! I bought it thinking the stainless steel carafe would keep my coffee hot. Well, I got more than I bargained for! After it brews, you hear this weird boiling noise which means the coffee is not only hot but it is burning. I can''t keep the carafe on the burner for more than a few minutes. So now I only make enough for one cup at a time. I am definitely taking this back.

Got this at Target for $21. I''ve been using it for about a week and have had no problems. I was really surprised to read all the negative reviews. I got this small coffee maker to replace my Keurig K-cup machine since k-cups keep getting more and more expensive. I love the progammable feature, in fact that makes it more convenient than the Keurig in my opinion since the coffee is already hot and ready to drink when I walk downstairs in the morning. I haven''t had any problems with burning or leaking.

Great buy if you ask me!!

Cleancaf Cleaner and Descaler for Home Coffee and Espresso EquipmentJust my TWO CENTS:

Expensive to use? Bitter taste after usage? Not Recommended by OEM''s? Use lemon juice? Maybe it''s just me, but I really don''t get it!

Unless you''re using your machine commercially to make hundreds of shots per week, you''re wasting your money, not to mention killing your machine by decalcifying constantly. I have nearly 6,000 shots (!) on my one year-old Saeco Incanto Sirius machine and I just finished my FIRST 3-package Cleancaf box. In all this time, the machine has only prompted me to decalcify ONCE. It bases this on a water pH test you perform at the time of new machine commissioning and the coresponding water hardness setting of the machine resulting from the set-up test. I ignore the prompt and just decalc every THREE months or so (i.e, like the package instructions recommend, LOL!) I''ve never noticed a decrease in water flow (during coffee or steam/hot water wand usage), nor has there been any decrease in coffee temperature. FWIW, I fill the machine reservoir (I have spare reservoir that I use for decalcifying only) all the way up with warm water and one packet of Cleancaf...it has a two-litre capacity. Then I rinse with TWO reservoirs full of clean warm water. It DOES take a while....the machine is next to the sink, so I aim the wand at the drain, let the thing go and walk away to do other things. I NEVER have an issue with taste after cleaning and I am anal about coffee taste, freshness and machine cleanliness. FWIW, the machine uses the Aqua Prima in-reservoir micropore and charcoal filter, and I use supermarket-brand spring water (loaded with mineral and micro-organisms, LOL) in the one-gallon jug (lots of them, with the amt. of espresso I brew, LOL!).

For those of you thinking of using a non-authorized acidic solution (lemon juice, vinegar, etc.) for decalcifying, think again. SAECO USA as well as Whole Latte Love (authorized SAECO sales/service) will tell you to use SAECO Dezcal (it''s also made by Urnex)or Urnex Cleancaf ONLY for decalcification. They''re non-toxic, bio-degradeable, chelation-process cleaners (Dezcal is weak sulfonic acid, Cleancaf is classified "non-hazardous" per their respective MSDS hazardous sheets). If you use lemon juice or white vinegar you will very likely cause water circuit damage and VOID your warrantee. Don''t believe me, call the manufacturer and ask yourself...it''s in the owner''s manual as well. BTW, most Starbucks Barrista espresso machines are OEM''ed by SAECO in Bologna, Italia.

My machine has been in to the local factory authorized repair center (broken grinder...fixed FOC under the OEM warrantee), and they remarked on how spotless the machine was, inside, outside, in the brew circuit and in the hot water circuit...especially considering the amount of shots I make!

SAECO, WLL and the local warrantee station (The Repair Shack) also recommend Urnex Cafiza (I use the Tablets, you can also buy it in powder form) to keep the COFFEE circuit as spotless as the HOT WATER circuit. You can see it work as it "peels" the layers of stuck-on coffee residue that even constant rinsing on my part (remember, I am anal, LOL!) does not remove and flushes it out. That, my friends, DEFINITELY results in me being able to fully appreciate my Lavazza Super Crema-based espresso, caffe lungo (caffe crema) and capuccino with NO bitterness caused by a dirty machine! If you''re going to spend the money on an expensive machine, and use expensive coffee, you might as well get great tasting caffe, right?

My vote: HIGHLY Recommended. Just use it sparingly and enjoy your coffee!

I love Urnex. Love love love. I first used the product line while working as a professional coffee slinger, aka barista. We cleaned our drip urns and espresso machines with it nightly. I never thought of using it for home machines, favoring the time-tested vinegar technique. Now that I''ve used this product on my home machine, I will never go back.

Our coffee maker is about 18 months old. It''s a Cuisinart all-in-one model, with the burr grinder. The carafe is difficult to clean, and was pretty mucky by the time I used the Urnex. One rinse through, and it was shining like a beacon. The "Wow Factor" is amazing. But can I tell you about how much better the entire coffee maker works? Urnex frees huge amounts of deposits from the inner workings of your machine. The gunk that comes out through your maker... It''s incredible. We noticed immediately that the coffee maker worked faster and produced tastier coffee.

You only need to use this product in your machine every 6 months or so. It is worth every penny of investment and it is crazy easy to use. Do yourself a favor if you really like coffee. Clean your coffee maker.

I bought this a while back because I saw it in Warehouse Deals for a really silly price and thought I''d give it a show. I live in Kyle, TX where the water is so awful and full of calcium that in less than one year my coffee maker was taking FOREVER to brew a pot and by the time it finished about 1/8 of the water had evaporated. I normally use CLR which does the trick but it''s pricey and then takes about 4-5 runs of clean water to finally stop smelling like CLR. I finally used this today and WOW WOW WOW! I mixed the powder with water as directed (it turns a really light blue). I then ran it through the coffee maker and the water that came out was GROSS!! This stuff cleans out EVERYTHING from the inside that even CLR didn''t. I''m in the process of doing the 2 rinses and I cannot be happier with how much cleaner the machine is and how much better it even sounds! AWESOME PRODUCT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

SteamFast SF-292 Multi-Purpose Floor Mop and Handheld Steam Cleaner Save 54% Off

SteamFast SF-292 Multi-Purpose Floor Mop and Handheld Steam CleanerWe were about ready to return ours until we figured out that the lower the steam setting (even lower than the instructions), the less water is left on the floor or item (when used on items other than the floor) and the Steamfast''s cleaning ability is not lessened by the lower setting. Also, if you are going to use it on both tile floors and wood floors in the same cleaning session and do not want to change pads, use it on the wood floors first at its lowest setting and then clean the tile second on medium. If you use the medium setting first, too much water will be left on whatever you use it afterward when you subsequently turn it down to low. Also, we have found that if you let the mop heat up on very low for a longer period of time, i.e., about a minute or so before using it, less water will be left on the floor. What would be great would be a setting that first heated up the mop with no steam.

However, it works very well getting our floors "squeaky clean;" and the floors seem to stay clean much longer. We are keeping it.

Now...what''s with this complaint about weak handles from some other reviewers! The handle is made from thick tubular aluminum and is screwed into a deep socket of reinforced ABS plastic. You''d have to drive over it with a Mack Truck even to bend it...and I''d be more concerned about damage to the truck.

We have also tried the clothes steamer. That also works very well once you figure out how much steam to use without leaving water drips on the fabric. Disconnecting and using it as a hand steamer for various tasks (accessories included) is not the easiest task, due to how well the handle is attached; so some improvement could be made for this feature.

Also, if the water reservoir needs to be refilled during one session, the process is quite awkward in that the the fill receptacle is near the bottom of the reservoir making it necessary to lay the mop down on its side if you want to refill it to its capacity. However, the mop will clean about 1200 to 1400 square feet of flooring on one filling at its low setting.

The mechanism for putting on the the supplied pads is also awkward and difficult to use. Get the Bissel "slip-on" pads. They work much better.

When we were deciding whether or not to return the Steamfast, we borrowed the Euro-Pro Shark Pocket Steam Mop ($119.00 at Target) and a better Hahn ($99.00 from Amazon) from two of our neighbors to see if either did a better job. The Hahn was very slightly better at not leaving water on the wood floor, and just as good, but no better at cleaning. It did not clean tile and grout nearly as well as the Steamfast. The Pocket Mop did not clean as well, period; and sometimes left even more water on the floor. Neither has the versatility of the Steamfast.

The Steamfast is not a perfect product. Neither are any of the others in this genre; but with a few minor improvements, it could blow the others away; and at $74, it can perform many jobs besides cleaning floors very well. We are looking forward to using the other features and attachments.

Update:

My apologies for extolling the handle. Ours broke too, but in the middle sliding part. Steamfast is correcting the problem and quickly sent us a replacement part, which was unnecessary as the handle is easily repairable with a short sheet metal screw.

I still rate the product a full four stars and perhaps a little more for its performance.

It''s easy to assemble. However, the pole/handle has the option to lengthen or shorten and mine was stuck. I almost sent it back, because when I pulled on it, it seemed like it was going to break. Eventually, it came out, though. Just be aware that it should get longer if you need it to.

I did the kitchen floor last night. I wasn''t "amazed" by the amount of dirt it picked up. It didn''t pick up years of mud and grime, or change the color of my floor or anything! In fact, I will probably re-use the cloth provided once more before I wash it. But the floors really feel clean today, so I''m happy with the results. AndNO SOAP or CHEMICALS!

I''m interested to see how the handheld steamer works on showers and corners and the like. I chose this steamer over all others because it DID include both the floor mop and the handheld option, so I hope I made the right decision!

The overall "FEEL" of the product is definitely reminiscent of infomercial quality... it just doesn''t feel like a Bissel or other household name would. But I''m willing to give it 30 days to prove itself to me. I''ll update this as I''ve used it more!

UPDATE: I used it over the weekend on medium-high to steam clean the glass shower door and frame in the house I just purchased. I cannot tell you how many years of mildew and mold and funk this thing blasted away from the frame of this door! I spent probably 2 hours cleaning the shower that day because I couldn''t believe how much of that stuff was built up in there. So it definitely earned it''s place in our house for that reason.

The clothes steamer attachment, which also houses the squeegee attachment, seem to leak down my arm while I am trying to work, which is pretty annoying. And to do the shower job, I went through probably 15 paper towels (too icky for a regular towel) and 1 hand towel for wiping up the wetness.

Bottom lineIt''s not the greatest product in the world, but I''ve found some very valid uses for this. No other brand right now offers the hand steamer/mop combo, and I think it is worth the money to have both options available and only one small product to store.

Update #2: It no longer works and is being thrown out with the garbage this week. I had it for about a year and a half. Don''t waste your money!!! I''m shopping a more reputable brand, and if I have to get a separate hand steamer from the mop, I guess that''s just what I have to do!

This is the best product that I ever bought. The mop is wonderful and works extremely well. The pads could be thicker so I went out and bought a thick hand towel and cut it to fit. Now it''s perfect. I also love the hand steamer. I use it in the bathroom around the toliet and when my kids spilled sticky stuff in the fridge and didn''t wipe it up (of course!) I used the hand steamer and it came right off in two seconds! A must have if you have children!!

This is the best product I have ever purchased! The steamfast was ready to go right out of the box, no tools needed, just a few twists and clicks and you''re off. I have some serious back injuries that prevent me from doing any deep cleaning. The steamfast has changed all that. First of all it is very light, no need to push down or scrub like you would using a swiffer or mop. Second it is easy to fill and operate. I first cleaned my wood laminate floors. I put it between low and medium, mopped following the grain pattern and the floors dried quickly and looked beautiful. If you have streaks when dry just use a lower setting. This is good enough for me and my family. The steamfast has a swivel head which gets under kitchen cabinets, furniture and behind the toilet. Next I steamed my oriental rug and chaise lounge, they looked beautiful. I changed from the mop head to the jet nozzel and cleaned the shower. I leave the handle on so I don''t have to stoop or bend to reach the edges or the bottom of tub then just rinse with the shower head. For the next big job I used the jet nozzel and the hard utility brush (not the wire one) and cleaned my vinyl siding! Two of my neighbors saw me doing this and both were amazed at how well it worked and plan on purchasing a steamfast. For vinyl siding first spray with a garden hose, then steam brush the house on high, spray again with the garden hose and the bugs and gunk are gone. Move on to the next section and when finished it looks brand new. I was a bit worried that when I lifted it above my head that the steam/water would run down my arm but it doesn''t. I used it on my bathroom and kitchen counters, stove and sinks with no chemicals! Today I will steam/squeegee my windows. I actually look forward to cleaning now. I did find the mopping pad to be too thin as some other owners had mentioned. I cut a folded dish towel using the enclosed pad as a pattern and use all 3 pads together when mopping. I also found when mopping that the mop head flips up on the backward stroke. I leant it to my sister who found this problem very frustrating. I simply taped a round weight on the top/front of the mop head which works perfectly. After several months of use the pole slips while mopping which is frustrating. I may purchase a replacement pole because this tool kicks #$$ !Eureka 169B Quick Up Vacuum,

First I used it hand-held with the jet nozzle to clean the toilet. WOW! That was easy. I then proceeded to the faucet and it''s mirror to get rid of toothpaste, shaving cream and all the other junk that gets splashed around the toilet sink.......The sqeegie attachment made cleaning the mirror tooooo easy! The chrome sink faucet had a super polished look when I was done.

So I decided to attach the fabric attachment. I put the settingon low and took the wrinkles off a dress shirt in a few minutes. EASY!

The next day I put the mop attachment and handle on and cleaned the kitchen floor.

The floors were clean and odorless.

Once you understand how to use the setting for the job at hand everything goes without a hitch. This is the best investment ive made in a long time.

Now the only hing I have to look for is how long it last''s and if that goes well I will be one very happy steamfast user.

UPDATE!!! Used it on bathroom tile and got rid of al the black mildew and and black gunk that grows in between the tiles. I found this so much more effective than using scrubbing bubbles or tolex because it actually removed the black gunk. I have never seen the grout so white and clean.

Doulton SS Water Filter with 2 7'' Super Sterasyl Ceramic Filtersit''s a nice filter. as good as the more expensive ones with ''black'' filter elements.

It''s really fast ...as drip filters can be. on a two person house you only have to fill the top once every other day.

Only things i''d improve: the small faucet. it''s not practical, looks cheap.

And the price. Why those things are so expensive in the US?!

dimensions are 19" high, 8" diameter.

the model is GSS2, more specs (go to douton usa dor com)

UPDATE:

i''ve been on a trip for a little more then a month after i ordered the filter. After returning, I used the filter for 2-3 weeks and it started leaking.

The seller here simple ignored all my contacts. The manufacturer replied the first email just to say that they are not affiliated with any reseller.

the plastic in the spigot simply ripped away from the side-way force of turning the lever. the plastic had bubbles in it. really awful workmanship.

i''m now giving up on contacting the seller or manufacturer and am going to buy a replacement spigot.

Avoid. Pay a little more for another brand.

A GOOD UPDATE now:

found the perfect replacement faucet for this.and after the good one, A BAD UPDATE:

they wrote me an email asking to improve the rating here in exchange for a new faucet..... That''s low. Very low.

There are more expensive out there, I have a friend that has one of them. They cannot do any better than this one for what I want. Living in hurricane territory having the ability to have a good water filtering device is of most importance.

Austin Air Healthmate Air Purifers

Austin Air Healthmate PlusI am very sensitive to chemicals. I give the HealthMate Plus credit for saving my life. With it in my home I can handle odors and chemicals from other apartments and the outside.

Mine has been thru neighbors painting, and remodeling. I did have a break down with it and the warranty was honored. They even put an emergency tag on the repair so it was repaired faster.

The newer ones are so much more quieter than the old ones. When I got mine back from the factory I was constantly putting my hand on it to see if it was running. It was just so quiet.

This is one of the first items that I recommend for a chemically sensitive person to buy.

When the box arrived all I had to do was lift the box off and plug it in. It was so well packed I was impressed.

The unit works well but has some design flaws that could be added such as: a variable speed control to adjust the speed (sound) beyond just the three choices, the outlet could be adjustable so you could direct the flow of the air wiout moving the unit, the strength of the casing could be stronger so that if somene accidentially sits on it that would not be a problem (got kids?), and the manufacturing company could bother to answer their emails and cold write you back (which they don''t) with a confirmation so that you *know* they have received your warranty registration online. I would buy the unit again and wanted another unit, but since the company did not answer back my emails when I had questions about an other use for an additional one I did not bother to buy the second one. So far I don''t feel the manufacturer cares much about their customers and hope there will be no problems when I have to deal with them in the future.

The Austin Air Healthmate Plus employs a certified HEPA filter which can remove 99.97 percent of particles larger than 0.3 microns. Since mold spores are larger than 0.3 microns, the Austin Air Healthmate filters can remove almost all mold spores inside rooms. The Austin Air Healthmate Plus contains nearly 15 pounds of activated carbon, which can remove aflatoxin, trichothecene and ochratoxin mold toxin gases, zeolites which can adsorb aflatoxins and hydrogen sulfide and Potassium Iodide which helps eliminate objectionable odors, such as formaldehyde.

I recommend a 30 day trial of the Austin Air Healthmate Plus for anyone who suspects indoor mold toxins are adversely affecting them. It is rated to provide two air exchanges per hour in 1500 square feet of average height rooms. I think the Austin Air Heathmate Plus would be very helpful for many mold toxic patients, since it could help create a "clean room," especially in patient bedrooms or offices, where they presumably spend about eight hours daily.

Many employees working in mold contaminated offices or schools are afraid to leave their toxic workplaces during this high unemployment job market. The Austin Air Healthmate Plus could help reduce the toxicity of their workplace, while they attempt to persuade their employers to correct the indoor mold contamination.

Since zeolites can adsorb hydrogen sulfide gas, I believe the Austin Air Healthmate Plus might help protect homeowners from hydrogen sulfide outgassed from Chinese drywall, while the Chinese drywall is removed or sealed.

If you are chemically sensitive, this may be the best air purifier for you, since it does not add anything to the air. It is housed in a sturdy low maintainence metal housing which does not outgas any plastic residues.

The Austin Air Healthmate Plus can remove many odors which ozone shock treatments have failed to remove. It is helping remove new carpet pad odor presently and I also used it to scrub toluene paint solvent odors. I think it would be very useful in auto body paint shops, in addition to exhaust fans. Actually, I would be thrilled if Ace Hardware would deploy them at the front of their stores, by the insecticides, to remove fumes seems like you always need to hold your breath while you walk past the pesticides at the front of every Ace Hardware store.

Research published by Mayo Clinic revealed 93 percent of chronic sinusitis is caused by mold. The Healthmate Plus may be one of the most effective treatments for sinusitis.

Austin Air offers a 30 day money back guarantee. I am not returning mine and I doubt many purchasers do.

DISCLOSURE: I do not have any financial interest in the Austin Air company

I purchased two of these filters last year for my Frigidaire. After about a day the water started to taste like a dusty vacuum cleaner. I thought maybe the one filter was defective so I put the other one in and had the same result. I finally read some of the reviews here and found out that some people were having the same issue. I took the advice of one of the review writers and bought the Frigidaire brand filter at Appliance Zone online (). It cost a little more but was well worth the money, the item shipped very quickly and there is now more "vacuum" taste.

Product arrived on time. This product I will give a 3 stars rating due to a slight off taste of the filtered water. Not any thing major; but it does seem to be getting better as we use more water and ice.

It still better then the filter that came with the refrigerator when it was new....

Great price for three filters.

I will buy again.

Filter looks and fits like the OEM part that we previously used but I''ve noticed the water has a plastic aftertaste. I''m hoping after a few cycles that this will go away, if not, I''ll have to replace.

In the box, you''ll find the filter specified, and the filter is the right one it is a match for the filter that I was replacing (Frigidaire RF100). Also in the pack, you''ll find a very small packet of Silicone Lubricant to use on the rubber o-rings of the filter (don''t over-do it with the silicone, or your water will taste AWFUL). There are two o-rings associated with the filter; one at the top (this can be seen in the product image) and one that is placed in the bottom of the filter cup to form a solid seal with the filter housing. The replacement bottom o-ring is incredibly small, and is nowhere near sufficient. I assembled the filter per the directions listed on the package. Once I turned the icemaker water back on, I had water all over the inside of the fridge. I had to dig the old o-ring out of the trash and reuse it in the filter cup (after a thorough washing, of course).

I have the Frigidaire Gallery FRS26ZSH side-by-side. The issue with the ill-fitting o-ring may not be an issue for other models. Good luck with yours!

In response to other reviews I have not noticed a plastic flavor. I didn''t soak the filter, but I did run about 20 pints through the dispenser before I even tasted the water. With the old sealant ring installed, I have had no issues with water leaking.

Aqua-6 Ozone Generator Ozonator Water Air Oil Purifier 600 mg/h Save 36% Off

Aqua-6 Ozone Generator Ozonator Water Air Oil Purifier 600 mg/hThis product is not designed to run longer than 20 minutes at a time. Because of this, it really isn''t designed for Ozonating air or oil. It also doesn''t have a fan on it, so I personally wouldn''t buy it for Air purification purposes, UNLESS you are trying to kill the odor in a very small space, like a car. It says in the user manual that oil needs to be Ozonated for hours in order to actually hold any ozone, and since this machine is only designed to run at 20 minute intervals, it really isn''t practical for oil, although, technically it can be used for it.

This product is basically for purifying water. However, after reading opinions from users on this product, its very clear to me, that most of the negative reviews it received, were from people who were trying to use it for air and oil purification. Again, these people must have failed to actually read the user manual. Because all of the issues stated in the negative reviews, were addressed already inside the user manual.

This product works EXCELLENT for purifying water...if your looking for a machine to Ozonate your air, or oil.....keep shopping.

I bought this ozonator to help cure Lyme disease and it has been very helpful. Because of the O3 molecule, you have free oxygen immediately and this helps to oxygenate our cells but also the free atom is actually poisonous and kills all kinds of pathogens including funguses. Before buying it I talked with an MD who is an authority on oxygen healing at our local hospital and was told that for the purpose of drinking the ozonated water it will indeed kill pretty much everything including not only borrellia and candida but also bartonella (which is aerobic and typically grows in the presence of oxygen). It can also help to reduce herxing because it reacts with toxins and helps your body excrete them. She said ideally to pulse it-take for 3-4 days and then stop for the same period and take antioxidants to normalize functionality. Don''t keep taking it every day. It did do this reduce herx for me on a lower setting. On a higher setting drinking a full glass of water I did herx because it was killing too much at once, but it is a great combination with rife machines for curing hard to kill ''critters'' and quicker and fewer side effects than antibiotics. I am thrilled with it!

This is a great little ozonator. I am using larger ozonators in several commercial restaurants to sanitize produce and to eliminate mold, but wanted a smaller unit for my home. Easy to use and puts out sufficient levels for personal use. Couldn''t find a better value anywhere great job Amazon!

As with anything, Value is the key. I''ve been using this generator for over 3 months and it does perform well. It''s perfect for ozonating water and I just keep the setting on number "10" , which is 20 minutes on, followed by 40 minutes off. I''ll ozonate 10 glasses of water a day. At night I let the unit cycle for 20 minutes every hour into just 1 ounce of olive oil. That gives it 8 , 20 minute cycles of ozones and you wind up with lightly ozonated olive oil. If you use it right and don''t expect it to do the same as $2,000 ozone generators, it does an excellent job. It is without a doubt a very good value. Considering I have been running this generator for 20 minutes every hour (followed by 40 mins rest) everyday for months now, it''s pretty rugged for the price. Very good value.

When ozonating oilive oil the stone gets clogged. Watch for that or don''t use the stone (just the hose).

I used to have really really bad RA. So bad, i was shopping for one of those riding carts because i couldn''t walk far or well. And I used to be on a lot of drugs to try and control it and the pain was still overwhelming. I started some supplments (Orenda) which absolutely rid me of the pain and got me off the RA drugs but I still felt like i needed faster recovery. A friend suggested i read: The One-Minute Cure. i started the hydrogen peroxide regimen from the book and i have to say i feel like i am really recovering to a much greater degree. Friends and family who see me remark on the fact that i am walking better and faster not like i''m crippled anymore. Anyway, the book mentions ozonating water as another way to highly oxygenate your body. Before I bought this product I read the article on Wikipedia which was mostly negative, discounting ozonated water''s ability to improve your health, but i''m here to tell you, after the first drink i was energized maybe its all in my head, and I don''t do caffeine but i imagine this is what it feels like. I am more awake than i can remember being. In fact, i drank it around 4:30 pm and could not sleep last night yes, i read other reviews that said this can happen, but i couldn''t wait to try it when it was delivered. So i drank another glass this morning after little sleep and feel awesome. Wishing you wellness & joy.

We owned an Amana refer for over 15 years until it stopped cooling in the refer and the freezer wouldn''t defrost. I checked on getting it repaired but tech said would be better off buying a new one.

So ...since we had good luck with Amana in the past we bought the one listed here.

Big mistake. The same thing that happened to our 15 year old refer hit the new one after only 2 years. Of course it is out of warranty now so I guess we have to pay 200 or more to get it fixed or buy a new fridge every 2 years. The freezer coils get covered with ice and the fridge is warm ....inexcusable for an appliance this new.

I haven''t had this long at all, so I can''t speak for longevity. I love it so far, though. I ordered it on January 20th (a Friday), and it arrived on the 25th (the following Wednesday) at 8am! The delivery company already had it unpacked and ready to go, they rolled it right into my kitchen in less than 5 minutes. After hooking up the water and power lines, everything worked flawlessly. It''s cooling both sides fine on medium settings and the ice/water maker/dispenser is great! I can barely hear it running when the compressor kicks in. For the price I am very satisfied.

I have been using this fridge for a little over two months now and it is so far keeping everything within it good and cold and/or frozen. Our prior fridge was a Frigidaire that was around 30 years old. It was making extra noises, ran almost constantly and had a few less cubic feet, but still worked. We have noticed that our electric bill took a drop after starting to use this Amana, so it is more efficient. The two plastic drawers within the Amana look a bit flimsy. I hope they do not break as they are expensive to replace. The three drawers in the Frigidaire were much more sturdily made. The bottom drawer was for meats and stayed a little colder. The Amana does not have a place especially for meats.

We had to add plumbing to the house to get water for the ice maker. Just got that done within the last few days. The ice maker is now doing its job. Every few hours we hear it dropping ice. As the instructions stated, I threw out the first several batches of ice.

I would have liked to have greater control over the spacing of the shelves. This Amana is suppose to have several cubic feet more space than the Frigidaire, but it doesn''t seem to hold any more than the Frigidaire did. Appears to me that there is a lot of space within the Amana that is not able to be used. I do like the tempered glass shelves that will stop small spills from going clear to the bottom of the fridge. The door could have used one more tray and a place to keep eggs where they could be accessed easily.

So far, I am liking this Amana. Other than the inefficient use of space and the flimsy looking drawers, it seems to be working well so far. Knock on wood. I hope it keeps up. I am giving it four stars. Will update in the future if needed.

This refrigerator, which was purchased from Amazon, was delivered by a truck, unpacked by the driver, and then wheeled into the house and placed where it was requested. The outside packing material was removed by the driver. Very good service by Amazon.

March 9, 2013.

Have been using this refrigerator for around fifteen months now and it continues to work quite well. No problems with it whatsoever. The ice maker also continues to work quite well. There are only few complaints I might make so far. One is that the glass shelves are dirt magnets. Every few weeks I find that I have to clean a shelf or two. The other is it looks to me as though the shelves could have been several inches deeper front to back. It looks as though there was enough space for that and it would have added a little more storage capacity. I would recommend a couple of wire baskets for the freezer section to keep smaller items in. They keep small items from falling out. I like the Spectrum 47970 Medium Storage Basket.

This refrigerator is great for any kitchen, especially if you want a black refrigerator, quite unique because most are white, but never the less energy efficient and up to date with today standards

BISSELL ProHeat Upright Deep Cleaner Save 25% Off

BISSELL ProHeat Upright Deep Cleaner, 25A3I upgraded from an older Bissell Little Green Machine to this unit based primarily on my experience with Bissell products. The PROheat has a number of nice features that ultimately sold me on it and after using it for a few months now I''m fairly pleased with it. I particularly like that you can choose to either have the heat on or off. I''ve heard some people say that using the heat can break down your carpets more quickly and cause the stain to get worse as it picks up new dirt that is tracked in. I don''t know if that''s not the case, but since my old Bissell unit lacked heat but did a fine job, I pretty much use this minus the heat. Even with the heat off I''m stunned at how good a job this unit does. It''s even cleaned stains that I gave up as a lost cause. Most astonishingly, I usually vacuum first before using the steamer and then vacuum again once it''s dry. I''ve discovered I actually vacuum up MORE dirt after steam cleaning than I did before. Clearly this machine is knocking loose built up dirt which means cleaner and nicer appearing carpets than ever before. I also liked the wand attachment from my old Little Green machine, especially for upholstered pieces and hard to reach spots and this thankfully has that.

But there are some drawbacks and limitations. At least initially you will pick up a LOT of carpet fibers when you use the machine, which means FREQUENT cleaning of the rotating brushes and especially the multiple filters on the unit. In some instances I wound up using tweezers to get out fibers from the particularly small filter on the underside of the water tank. The one on top is easier to clean out, but particles trap almost everywhere on this machine. The water tank holds a pitifully small amount of water and/or cleaning solution which means frequent refills, and it slows down the whole cleaning process. The self contained tank is easy to empty, but if you think that will eliminate odors from dirty water guess again, it doesn''t. The tank does seem to leak or the seals don''t hold tight and so dirty water does collect in the well that the tank sits in, which ads to the nasty smells as well as adding yet another think you have to clean up. Another particularly annoying habit is the dirty water seeping out the front of the machine by the cleaning rollers when you turn off and store the machine. This is really disgusting and trust me, don''t store it on carpet or even leave it sitting there for very long as it WILL leak! When in use loose fibers tend to gather on the underside of the machine around the brush rollers so you manually have to gather it up by hand, which slows down the cleaning process. Once you''ve cleaned your carpet a few times that problem (hopefully) should minimize, although it has yet to happen for me. As a result there''s a considerable amount of maintenance you have to do to ensure your machine is operating under optimum conditions. Even so, it''s hard to argue with the results. I would probably buy this same unit again, but would also read up on other models just in case they operate more easily. Perhaps I was used to the utter simplicity of the Little Green Machine and sometimes I wish I was still using it, sad to say.

I just purchased a Bissell ProHeat today and am definitly pleased with my purchase. The carpet which was in rather poor shape has seen a clear improvement and IMHO a professional couldn''t have done a better job. The cleaner itself was simple to assemble, straight-forward to load with cleaning solution (I like the combo-tank idea!), and very easy to use.

One drawback was the limited size of the tank for holding cleaning solution, I found myself refilling it 4 times to do 3 rooms and a lazy-boy chair. Of course re-filling was at least easy to do and to be expected when buying the low-end model. Further, as with it seems all of these contraptions, the hand-held attachment would spray at far to wide an angle but thats not a unique problem to this one cleaner.

Overall, for the price, if you have a small house or apartment and are on a limited budget or just like to pinch a penny or two, I would surely recommend this Bissell.

I have been looking at carpet cleaners for a few months. Based on reviews, I wasn''t too sure I could find a good product at a decent price, since I didn''t want to break the bank. I found this item at Target, and based on my experience with Bissell vacuums, decided to give it a chance. It assembled pretty easily, and seems pretty solid. It did a very nice job on lifting dirt from an alabaster carpet and darker entry carpet, neither of which had been cleaned in nearly two years. I found the upholstery tool to work very well on higher traffic areas that didn''t respond well to the pushing the machine over it. Overall, I am quite happy with this item.

We bought this product through a retail store because it was cheaper than Amazon, but the product itself is FANTASTIC. We had had our carpet professionally cleaned, and the guy told us some of the stains would never come up. The Bissell PROheat got rid of those stains. Enough said.

As with some of the other favorable reviews, I loved my Bissell in the beginning. But, now I agree with the unfavorable reviews of awful and leacky. My opinion soon changed as soon as the warranty was up. The belt continued to slip, and I couldn''t even get one room cleaned. I spent hours on the phone with Bissell Customer Service, taking the cleaner apart fixing the belt, checking other parts, etc. And just recently, the motor pulley broke. Bissell referred me to the only Bissell repair shop in my area (20 miles away...pretty bad for the second largest city in Maryland not to have anything closer). When I called them, they said it would cost approximately $80 to repair...not worth it since the cleaner was only around $150. So, for $150, expect to get maybe a year''s worth of good service from the cleaner (if you''re lucky).

Pondmaster 2002 In Pond Skimmer and Filter SystemHave tried several DIY options and totally gave up. Came across this bargain and took advantage of it. Initially it did not work as expected. Upon reading the manual the error was corrected and has worked great since then. two thumbs up. It works. Critical factor is pump volume. Recommended 1800gph and up is on the dot.

The device is well constructed and easy to assemble. It is not clear, however, that you need at least 12" water depth to use this at all. With some minor modification (i.e. cut the basket from 6" to 4") I was able to used this in a 14" deep water feature. Would have like to know this ahead of time.

I have been using htis skimmer for about 1 1/2 years. It works well, but would prefer something that is even bigger. Cleaning the filter sometimes can be a pain. It is pretty sturdy. No cracks in mine yet. Suggest you get 2 or 3 sets of filters so you can quickly change them out and then rinse out the old one and use again. I also added a steel wire to the basket to make a handle which makes it easier to pick up with my reacher (grabber).

The Dishwasher Filtration System Cartridge 2 Pack

The Dishwasher Filtration System Cartridge 2 PackLet me start by saying these filters work great! Our glasses, ceramics and polymer utensils come out super clean and we use much less detergent. The real problem is we have VERY hard water in San Antonio. The ion exchange process in this filter is the same process as any water softener, but you can''t include the saline recharge in an under the sink filter. My first filter lasted almost two months I''m hoping the next ones last a bit longer, but I''m not holding my breath. Honestly, this filter system just has too much waste for my taste. Throwing away this large chunk of polymer every couple months is not good for my landfill; while the cartridge may or may not be recyclable in your community, the poly beads inside are definitely not. If you''re handy, you can rig up your own salinated backwash system to make them last longer.
