GE GXPLO3D Water Filtration Pitcher

GE GXPLO3D Water Filtration PitcherThe best pitcher filters available, far superior to Brita''s product; unfortunately the GE pitchers are too small with poorly designed tops and very uncomfortable handles. On the other hand the filters fit our old Brita pitchers and since they last about twice as long as Brita''s filters it worked out.

Honeywell QuietClean Tower Air Purifier with Permanent Filter Save 30% Off

Honeywell QuietClean Tower Air Purifier with Permanent Filter, HFD-110I reviewed dozens of air purifiers in the search for the best, low-price one with a HEPA filter that did not use Ionizing technology (which appears to be especially risky for people with asthma). I purchased the Honeywell HFD-110 Quietclean Tower thinking I had found the perfect match...

...that is until the package arrived and the fine print on the box said that this was a "HEPA-Type" filter (ie. NOT a HEPA filter, which means not certified to the high standard of a HEPA filter). When you look at the filter up close it looks nothing like the HEPA filters I have seen (not dense at all, quite the opposite).

To make matters worse the HFD-110 IS an Ionizing air purifier (and you cannot turn this feature off), contrary to the Manufacturer''s Description which would have you believe otherwise, "Compared to ionic air purifiers, the filter from the HFD-110 captures 12 times more pollutants..."

Look, I think this would otherwise be a decent Ionizing, Generic-Filter Air Purifier if it was presented honestly in the manufacturer''s description.

Considering that I was COMPLETELY MISLEAD into buying exactly what I did not want, I will think twice before ever buying a Honeywell product again!

My bf and I bought this air filter specifically for the fact we both have asthma and wanted a nice air filter that not only cleaned the air, but would not create ozone. No where in the reviews did it say that it was an ionizer so we bought it. We had it on for one night, it did a great job cleaning the air and was quiet but when I went to go break down the packaging, I noticed teeny tiny print on the bottom of the box that said: warning: includes ionizer that produces ozone. do not use if you have asthma.

We were both quite upset that we didn''t see this warning on Amazon before we bought it. Had to return it! False advertising!

This is an excellent air purifier. It can also be used as a fan, which I use it to sleep at night. It is very quiet except on high setting. But what fan isn''t noisy on the high setting? I cleaned the filter by running water through it under the sink. It had a collected a nice bit of dust that would have otherwise entered my lungs.

We bought this machine because we have a cat and my boyfriend is allergic to cats. Our place is small-medium sized apartment in a highrise so this machine is kinda perfect for us. THough we have 2 main rooms, living and bedroom. it works great in both rooms but once in a while we have to move the machine from room to room, but maybe also because of the floor plan layout of the apartment.

This thing is big!..like about almost 3'' tall i think. My boyfriend''s allergies now got much better than before we bought it, he said. its easy to operate and move around ( theres a grip handle on top so you can grap, lift and move it around.)The filter is easy to clean-vacuum cleaning, it seems as though the filter cleaning time indicator button doesnt work.. but its easy to check, just pull the filter up and look.

Overall, I think this product is a 4. Not bad, works great for the price, but if you can pay more than $150, I believe there s a more expensive but better one out there.

I have had this air purifier for a few months now and find it to be useful and very quiet even on its highest setting. Much quieter than my old Bionnaire which it replaced. I mainly went with this model because you don''t have to buy filters for it. On my Bionnaire, I could not longer find filters for it or they were ridiculously expensive. You end up paying for the unit over and over and over again with the replacement filters. I love my Honeywell!

Fiskars 5962 Rain Barrel DiverterPro Kit Save 18% Off

Fiskars 5962 Rain Barrel DiverterPro Kit, BlackI did a lot of research before buying a diverter, and am still happy with this one. It does what it''s supposed to do divert rain from the downspout to a rain barrel until the barrel is full, then automatically send everything down the spout. Installation was rather easy and the quality seems fine for what it is. I like the fact that you can hook up a barrel on either side or both! I hid my barrel around the corner so it''s on the back side of my garage and out of sight, and used less than half the supplied hose. Here are a few improvements I would recommend, however:

The ports on either side of the unit for connecting hoses are split down the middle. I assume this is to increase flexibility, making it easier to attach the included hose. However, this also means that it leaks a bit. One layer of waterproof tape around the outside took care of this. Changing the design to use a barbed fitting would make more sense.

I used this with the 2x3" downspout converter kit. The top is fine. The downspout fits inside the adapter. On the bottom, however, the same fitment causes it to leak at that junction. A little forethought and some silicone sealant during installation took care of this (used silicone for all connections). Again, design could be easily changed so that the adapter fits inside the downspout on the bottom, preventing leaks.

During light rains, the diverter doesn''t send as much water to the barrel as I had hoped. In theory, ALL the water should be diverted during a light rain. However, the removable screen/diverter just fits loosely in the housing and some water leaks through. Design could be improved to make a tighter seal, possibly using a gasket, while still being able to remove for cleaning.

Why black? I would guess that 95% of downspouts are white. I would have been willing to spend a little more for white plastic from the manufacturer than live with black or have to paint it myself.

All in all, though, a great unit and certainly worth 4 stars. I''m just nit picking here so others will know exactly what to expect when they buy one.

I only have a few days and one rain storm to go by but I have an issue with the design of this unit. Many folks have 2X3 downspouts for which Fiskars has provided adapters. Unfortunately, they are not engineered to fit inside of the downspout as it runs below the unit. The unit actually is installed on the outside of the bottom downspout. This virtually guarantees leakage as the water that is not diverted to the rain barrel moves along the sides of the Fiskars unit and comes out in rivlets all along the connection. A call to Fiskars confirmed the design flaw with a suggestion to add caulk. Initial call to customer service was rude, indicating that none of them leaked. Engineering only agreed to notify design of the issue. Too bad as the unit has promise. If it need caulk they should say so and provide it.

My original one star review is below. Since then, out of pure stubbornness, I''ve made this device work properly. I went to a local downspout/rain gutter manufacturer and purchased 3" square downspout. It''s used for commercial applications, not residential, I''m told, and isn''t available at any home improvement stores, not here anyway. With a little reshaping of the receiving end of the 3" downspout, the bottom end of the Fiskars diverter can be made to fit snugly inside the tubing, which means that your rainwater will stay contained and not leak out all around the edges. Of course, this means that you''re also committed to using 3" downspouting from the end of the Fiskars to the end of your run, and the stuff is not cheap, but it works the way it should if the Fiskars had been designed properly in the first place. It works great, in fact. If you can''t find 3" downspouting in your area, of if you''re not willing to spend that much money, or to cut, bend and reshape metal, then my one star review below stands.

One star review: "It is a great idea. Just horribly executed. Almost impossible to fit a 2x3" downspout into the top, tho it can be done with much bending and twisting of the downspout end, encouraging leaves and debris to get caught there. But the brain trust in the Fiskar''s design department decided to make the outlet adapter identical with the inlet, to save money no doubt. Instead of fitting inside the downspout as it should, the outlet adapter fits over the outside of the downspout, guaranteeing that it will leak. Especially after having to mangle the downspout to make it fit here, too. Caulk? Won''t last a season. Might as well leave off the diverter and just run the downspout to the top of the rain barrel and let the water run out of the top of the barrel. Same difference in the end. So after cutting my downspout and trying unsuccessfully to figure out any way of making this work as it should, now I have to return it AND replace my downspout. Thanks a lot, Fiskars. Useless."

I am a commercial plumber by trade and living in TX, water restrictions are coming down. There will be two avenues for water collection and use. Rain water and Condensate water from the AC. My AC makes 8 gallons a day. I looked far and wide for the best cost VS function on units like this and this wins hands down. Simple and easy to install. Easy to clean out. Alot of the others need removed to clean. This one has an access door and a removeable screen so in winter you can just remove that part and it is a straight run down spout again. To address a few of the "issues" people have had. If you have 3 inch gutters, silicon in the top and bottom adapter and screw it tight before install. It won''t leak. Silicon in the leader to the adapter and screw with self tappers on 4 sides. It won''t leak. One thing I did find is that the diverter/ screen piece did not fit in tight enough to get the maximum collection rate I desired. NO BIG DEAL. I took a self tapping screw and from the inside, thru the clean out cover, I pushed down on the screen/diverter piece and then ran the large head self tapping screw thru the back and directly above the top bar of the screen. This locked it down into the inside channel. The diverter is plastic so it sealed the screw. Now I get full collection as fast as the water will go down the drain tube. But still a wee bit of room to drain the diverter over a period of 2 minutes when the rain stops. Being this diverter has two outlets, one on either side, running both tubes to a barrel on each side will collect much more water then having barrels linked in series. people complained of the color? get a can of krylon plastic''s paint. My leaders are hunter green and you can''t even tell I have a diverter there now. I was amazed at just how water these will collect. I set up two barrels as a test run and they filled up in under 5 minutes with a Texas time summer cloud burst. These are well worth the money and function great at a fraction of the cost of more expensive models.

I recently purchased the rainbarrel kit for a single downspout. The kit works very well and came in a timely fashion. The installation looked very simple, though I had it installed during my gutter renovation. You will need a hacksaw or something to cut your existing gutters, so that would be the only challenge with this kit. The trap is very easy to clean and catches most debris. If you have some form of gutter guards, you really won''t need to clean out the trap but once a year at most.

My only complaint with this kit is the color. The black color would really stand out if this was in a focal point, and the fact that they do not offer other color selections limits where I would use this product. For me, it was installed in the back of the house, so it is not noticeable. I think they would have done much better to have made the diveter white so as to match alot more exterior trim/gutter colors.

After removing old filter and putting this one in the water developed a horrible strong chemical taste. Tap water tasted better. Also noticed that during initial installation while I was running 1 gallon of water through it, per installation directions, no bubbles seeped out of the water line... almost as if this filter had already been drained of air prior to being used... or maybe had already been used? this was totally unlike all other filters i put into my frige which always drains the air out of them during initial installation when your running a gallon of water through them to clean them out. But then again this is filtered water like no other filter ever... one that actually adds chemical odors and horrible taste instead of removing them....$32 in the trash and this is my first amazon review ever... i am being a nice guy and warning the public.

I too have an issue with this filter. First off it is not exactly the same end as the original kenmore 46-9010 that I am replacing. I thought though that since it is advertised many places as compatible it would work. It states you MUST soak the filter in water 15 min before using. I had never seen that on any filter but did it anyway. When inserting the filter and twisting it into place there was no sound of water or pressure opening the valve. I ran 2-3 gallons of water through it and I also had no air pockets. I removed the filter and it has no water in the filter. The water is not running through it. It is just bypassing it as though there is no filter in it. I put the old kenmore back in and the pressure and water sound went through it. I then tried another new SGF-W01 and it does as the first. I do not think these filters are filtering ANY water at all. The difference in the ends must be the problem. I guess it''s like the old saying, you get what you pay for. I wasted $50 on two of these filters. I will be going and paying the higher price for a 46-9010 that really works.

Bona Pro Series Wm700051188 Stone

Bona Pro Series Wm700051188 Stone, Tile and Laminate Cleaner Ready To Use, 32-Ounce SprayWe''ve used Bona on our kitchen''s Pergo floor for several years and are pleased with its performance. To apply the cleaner we either use a dry Swiffer pad or a soft cloth. I prefer cleaning the floor the old fashioned way, on my knees and with a soft cloth turned often. After being cleaned the floor has a nice, soft sheen.

I''ve also used the Bona on my ceramic tile bathroom floor on occasion. It makes the tile sparkle without making it slippery.

The Bona formula is non toxic but can cause stomach irritation. I haven''t personally tried drinking any Bona, so I will take the manufacturer''s word about the stomach irritation.

The price for the cleaner on Amazon from this vendor is as good or better than any local seller''s in Spudland.

Works great on laminate floors. Leaves my floors super clean, shiny & streak free. Also love that it''s pet safe.

Black & Decker DCM600B 5-Cup Coffeemaker Save 11% Off

Black & Decker DCM600B 5-Cup Coffeemaker, BlackThis Black and Decker 5 cup coffee maker is one of the best I have used. With a clean, uncluttered design, it compliments my kitchen, without taking up a lot of counter space. Simple switch on operation, ease of cleaning, and drip free pouring, helps to make this coffee maker very easy to use, and maintain. The coffee is hot, and the warmer plate keeps it hot. The capacity is for five cups (6 ounces), but since I use a larger mug, I get three servings to a pot. I would highly recommend this product.

In a world where everything seems to be a complex computer controlled wonder, bluetooth this, facebook that, timer whatsits, and e/i-whatevers, this machine stands out. Why? Because its a $17 coffee maker, it does nothing special other than make coffee. Guess what, it makes coffee.

Seriously, the most complex thing about its interface it the switch lights up when its on. It couldn''t get any simpler, your favorite coffee grinds plus water, wait 5 minutes, and blammo coffee, and it costs less than $20. I would call this thing the greatest piece of technology ever, but that''s unnecessary and ridiculous, for its a coffee maker, and all it does is make coffee.

To be fair, the plastic feels cheap, but I''m not taking this thing with me to the moon. I just expect it to make coffee and not try to kill me, which it does.

Do you need coffee from the comfort of wherever you are? Don''t want to spend $40 for bells and whistles you''re never going to use? You can''t go wrong with this gem, for it is a coffee maker, and it makes coffee.

I am very impressed with this little coffee maker. I''m a self-proclaimed coffee snob who usually presses coffee in the morning. I wanted something quicker and only for a few cups. This coffee maker totally fits the bill. I have a small spot on the counter that it fits into perfectly. The lid even opens and does not interfere with the cabinets like a 12-cup maker might. I make 2 or 3 cups in the morning and it tastes great. I cleaned it upon purchasing and ran a few batches of plain water through it. The coffee coming out tastes great. I attribute it to the water head that evenly spreads water over the grounds. Its not like some units that have one spout for water, this has multiple openings.

For $15 to $20 you can''t go wrong.

Prior to owning this coffee machine I had a 4 cup Mr Coffee. Needless to say a disaster. The pot broke twice, the replacements wound up costing more than the whole machine. This B & D coffee maker brews better coffee in less time. Also its cup measurements are more realistic. I mean who uses an actual coffe cup? It''s a mug world.

I''ll have to disagree with the other reviewers on this one. I find that this is a great coffee maker for the price. I paid $16 at Target (sorry Amazon!) and it''s a great value. Although it looks like someone shrunk my previous coffee maker!

Some comments to help you decide if this one is for you:

* The basket is high enough to let me put any of my coffee mugs under it, a little under 3 cups of water fills my large starbucks mug. You won''t fit a tall travel mug in there, but that''s fine by me.

* The coffee comes out at 160 degrees Fahrenheit, so you''ll get a good hot cup of coffee.

* It has a hot plate, which I think is a waste. This coffee maker is perfect for making a mug at a time. I''d rather brew a second cup then keep a cup warm in the carafe. I absolutely hate the taste of burnt coffee that you get very quickly when you leave it on the hot plate. Although, it does act as a cup warmer while the coffee is brewing, so I may change my mind on this.

* You can see the water level in the reservoir if you''re not using a measuring cup or the carafe to measure the water.

* The carafe has water level markings that show the "extra" water you need to use to account for the water that is absorbed by the coffee grounds.

Keurig B155 Commercial Brewing System

Keurig B155 Commercial Brewing System with Bonus K-Cup Portion Trial PackMy brewer lasted for three uses. After three uses it no longer pumps any water. I called customer service, because I spent extra money on a commercial brewer, I can only get it fixed through a technician who has a prohibitive call queue. I have called back a total a five times, and each time I am told that a technician will call me back. This has yet to happen over the last month that I have been trying to fix this. Had I bought a cheaper one from Walmart, this issue would have been resolved already. Do not buy this brewer. If it breaks, expect zero customer service from Keurig and to be out whatever money you have paid for it.

I''ve had several Keurig brewers in the past and wore each of them out with heavy use. This one is the best one I''ve ever had! The coffee tastes better to me. I''m not sure why. It''s a tiny bit bigger than the other models, but I think it''s attractive.

In the mornings my machine is a coffee brewer. Then I brew up some tea so I can pour it over ice and I drink iced tea all afternoon. In the evenings I might have hot tea or hot chocolate or more coffee. The best thing is the variety of flavors that are available. You never have to be bored having the same one. I usually start out with Tully''s Breakfast blend or maybe their House blend, then after my taste buds wake up, I switch to Italian, which can''t be beat! Then there is a Pomegrante tea that makes everything smell great. Sometimes I mix several flavors of tea together just for fun.

This is the easiest and fastest way I''ve found to make coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. I love it!

Edited to say that the coffee fills from the left side of the tray. I have put a tiny bowl to the right of where the cup goes so I don''t put my cup in the wrong place. Several times I put the coffee cup too far to the right, only to come back a few minutes later and find that the coffee missed the cup.

I read through the reviews on this product that were available (11 at the time), and despite the 1 real negative review of a clearly defective machine and an error made in an attempt to contact customer service, I decided to give this model a try. I am very pleased that I did. Had I not ignored that 1 negative review, I''d be missing out on a very nice coffee making machine. I wanted a commercial grade unit knowing it would be for home use as I consume more coffee than the average coffee drinker per day. I''m not sure if the commercial grading of the OfficePro models are worthy of such a distinction as only time will tell. Until then, here are some quick points you may be interested in.

The positive feedback points:

Large water reservoir so you do not have to fill as often (90 oz)

Allows you to set and change the brewing temperature

Quiet brew technology used (Another OfficePro model was dubbed too loud)

Programmable with auto shut-off feature after 2 hours

The LCD touchpad screen displays the water level (very nice feature since the styling of the unit is colored in platinum and black)

The minor feature issue points:

Of the 4 brew sizes, the one that is missing is 12oz. Perhaps replacing the 4oz brew size with a 12 would have been a good idea. (K-cups are a little more expensie than buying a pound of coffee. Some like to brew 2, 4oz into a single cup but I would never waste another k-cup this way. To get my 12 or 14oz of coffee in one cup, I brew an 8, then slightly raise the lid and close to immediately brew another 4oz, getting the most of 1 k-cup)

The drip tray, which is removeable for travel mugs, sits really low so some splashing occurs when brewed coffee pours. (The daily cup being placed is not going to be a travel mug. I suspect that most users would also not be placing travel mugs under so perhaps the drip tray could be raised to sit an inch or two higher)

Because of the minor feature issue points mentioned, I couldn''t rate this unit with 5 stars but definitely worthy of receiving a very positive review.

Thus far, this machine is well made, does everything as advertised and makes a hot brewed cup of coffee.

The lesson to be learned; don''t let 1 negative review from over a year ago of a possible defective unit affect your buying decision.

I got hooked on K-cups at a customer''s plant where I was working. The coffee was so fresh and great tasting the I was compelled to buy this unit for my home. It has not failed my expectations. It has worked flawlessly since I first plugged it in. The touch screen is a conversation piece when guests are in the kitchen because it rolls through various views of coffee beans, roasting, and the k-cup brewing cycle. When you put a new k-cup into the holder it shows the screen to select your brew size, then all you have to do is select the size and hit the ''brew'' button and you''ve got a superior cup of coffee.

Even the kids love brewing up a cup of hot cocoa. And, if you don''t like coffee or cocoa, try the chai latte (spiced black tea). There are k-cups available that will please anyone.

Want Keurig B155 Commercial Brewing System Discount?

I use coffee makers in three different locations and really want to find a single cup coffee maker that will provide long life and durability.

I have owned 6 Keurig and 4 Cuisinart K-Cup Coffee makers, and I have had poor experience and aggravating maintenance problems with most of them. I still own two Keurig Platinum B-70 machines that keep on plugging, and I''m still using one of the Cuisinart machines, that, I guess I''m just waiting for it to develop problems.

I recently bought this B-155 machine, hoping that the commercial designation means better durability and longer life. I love the convenience of the K-cup machines and the wide variety of coffee (and other beverages) available for them.

First some things about the B155 I really like . . .

90 ounce water tank makes a lot of coffee between re-fillings

Coffeee temperature adjustable up to 198 degrees hotter coffee than other machines. (that stop at 192 degrees)

Seems to be more well made than the less expensive Keurig and other manufacturers machines.

It is a very good looking machine that goes well in a kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

The color screen with pictures and readouts is nice, but totally unnecessary in a coffee maker, for heaven''s sake!

Makes excellent coffee!

And the only thing I''ve found that I don''t like (so far) is the fact that a 10 ounce cup is the largest size the maker will provide. My earlier machines made a 12 ounce cup size. However, I''ve learned to punch the 6 ounce size twice to make the size cup that I favor.

I really like this coffee maker and hope it will provide the long term use that I''m looking for! So far, very happy!

Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Klean Kanteen 12 -Ounce Classic, Poly Sport Cap 2.0 Stainless Steel Water BottleLast month I bought a 40oz Klean Kanteen bottle and a 33oz Sigg bottle. In the end I prefer the Klean Kanteen.

Both bottles are very light and look good. The Sigg is lighter, but not so much to really matter. Sigg wins easily in the looks department with different artwork to choose from and the bottle I have has a nice textured powder coat finish compared to the KK basic look and smooth surface.

Sigg uses an epoxy to protect your water from the aluminum and tells you not to use the bottle for long term storage. Could be a bit worrisome not knowing what''s in the epoxy and the possibility of aluminum contamination. I have not noticed a metallic taste from either bottle drinking straight unfiltered tap water. I prefer the stainless steel of the KK just because it''s probably on the safer side.

The bottles are both lightweight and made of thin metal. I haven''t dented either but I have been very careful with them. Both feel like they would dent quite easily. I have not scratched either bottle and the paint on both looks like new after daily use from work to the gym.

The KK bottle has the cap threading formed into the neck of the bottle while the Sigg uses a metal ring insert in the top of the bottle to thread the cap onto. Some people have complained that the Sigg''s threaded insert is sharp, but I have not had this problem. The KK is more comfortable to drink from though. Also the wide mouth of the bottle makes it easy to put ice cubes in, which you can''t do with the Sigg unless you have very small ice cubes.

I have the loop cap on both bottles. The Sigg I really have to twist the cap on tight so it doesn''t leak. The KK cap seals quite easily and has never leaked. The KK also uses a thicker thread size and is easier to screw the cap onto because of this.

Some people are complaining about sweating. On a hot day with the bottles filled with ice cubes both will sweat, but plastic bottles will also.

If I was going to spend that much money on a water bottle again, I would go with Klean Kanteen without a second thought. The only advantage of the Siggs is the exterior design.

Update Dec 09: Over a year of use now and I have stopped using the Sigg due to their older bottles do in fact have BPA. Something they said it didn''t have, so I won''t buy another bottle from them again since it appears they were lying before. They will replace the older bottles, but you have to pay shipping.

I have 2 Klean Kanteens and both have held up well. Some minor scratches and dents, but still look quite good.

I purchased one of these for myself after researching the problems with polycarbonate bottles. At the same time I bought SIGG bottles for my kids because they had cool designs on them. Both brands of bottles are great and much safer than the polycarbonates. I like the Klean Kanteen much better than the SIGG for the simple reason that I can put standard ice cubes in it. I have yet to find an ice cube tray that is easy to use that will fit the smaller mouth of the SIGG.

With the Klean Kanteen I get clean water and no taste of metal or plastic or anything other than water. I fill this 27 ounce bottle 3 times during the day to make sure I get enough water. I like the sports cap, because I don''t have to take off a cap and lay it down somewhere. I originally bought the bottle with a poly loop cap, but when I am teaching there is never a germ-free spot to set that lid down. So I bought a sport cap, and it is very easy to drink from.

If you buy the 27 ounce Klean Kanteen and like your water cold, I recommend a Built NY 20 oz bottle tote to use with it. The metal becomes VERY cold with ice in the water and with the bottle tote, it stays cold and your hands don''t!

Buy Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle Now

I first bought a Klean Kanteen in 2005. It was all it was cracked up to be. Sturdy, but light, water did not pick up a metal taste, it was easy to clean, and never leaked.

In early 2010, I decided to spring for a second bottle -smaller this time, and with a nice painted color finish (not available when I got my first KK in 2005). Immediately upon receiving it, I could tell something was different. It felt thinner -cheaper. Sure enough, I could squeeze the neck of the bottle and "squish" in the sides. I tried this with my original bottle. No way! It wasn''t budging. I added water and, wow! The water had a terrible metallic taste. I never had this with the original bottle. I washed them both and filled them both from the same water source at the same time. Yup -metallic taste from the 2010 bottle. No taste from the 2005 bottle. I started to wonder if the materials were the same, so I grabbed a small but powerful refrigerator magnet and tried to stick it to the side of each bottle. Remember, Klean Kanteen claims that the bottles are made of "304 stainless steel which has a low nickel content." (To be exact, 304 Stainless has between 8% and 11% nickel.)

Anyway, anyone with any knowledge of metallurgy knows that a magnet should not stick to 304 stainless steel. And, as expected the magnet does not stick at all to the circa 2005 bottle. But the 2010 bottle, even with the paint on it? The magnetic latched right on, even with the the bottle was turned upside down!

So, this and the metallic taste and the cheap construction leads me to believe that Klean Kanteen is NOT using the materials (304 stainless steel) they claim to use in these bottles. This is a serious accusation and not one I take lightly. But it is a serious concern. KK stakes their claim on providing high quality stainless steel. If they are using another material, they are deceivcing the public by not disclosing this fact.

After reading recent information about Sigg not sharing info about chemicals used to line the interior of their bottle, we opted to switch to Kleen Kanteen for the stainless steel. There are pros & cons:

1) obvious pro the materials are known to be safe

2) the bottles sweat where as the Sigg did not sweat at all

3) the mouth of the bottle is large enough for ice cubes but makes it a bit more difficult to drink out of -kind of like drinking out of a 1qt gatorade bottle --sometimes a little bit dribbles out.

4) My 18month old loves his bottle because its the same color (stainless steel) as his dad''s. We got him the sport top instead of the sippy top and he manages just fine.

5) the slim shape fits nicely in most cup holders and water bottle carriers

I purchased two of these bottles in May of 2008 with the stainless steel caps. We were very pleased with them and in August I purchased another. Although the third bottle was more than 20% less than when I made the first order, the quality of the bottle has degraded by at least 50%.

It was immediately obvious upon opening the package that this was a much cheaper steel. It is thin, light-colored and rough. The inside of the older version is polished and smooth while this one is dull and hard to clean. My husband convinced me it was still good or else I would have returned it on the spot.

We''ve had it now for 4 months, compared with the 7 months of the first two. All get the same general treatment and this last one is MUCH worse off. The plastic on the top of the cap is cut up and gouged and cuts into your hand every time you have to open it. More importantly, the steel is dented all over and is beginning to rust. There are dents along the bottom edge as well which make the bottle wobbly and unstable. This has not been through any use to cause such damage. The older bottles, with the thicker, higher quality steel, are holding up nicely and look as new as the day we bought them.

I feel duped by a company that drew me in with a nice quality product and then lowered their standards. I will never buy anything from Klean Kanteen again. The $5 decrease in cost does not make up for the fact that I am throwing this bottle away 4 months after purchasing it.

Rebuilt Rainbow Hardwood Floor Canister Bagless SE Vacuum Cleaner

Rebuilt Rainbow Hardwood Floor Canister Bagless SE Vacuum CleanerI purchased a new Rainbow from Great Vacs and when I received it, it was package like it was just thrown in the box. I paid for a new unit and the unit I got looked like it has been used. It was a bit banged up and no manual or instruction came with it. I have left 2 messages with Great Vacs with a couple of questions, but no responds. Poor customer service & not a new unit. Consider your order with Great Vacs carefully.Rainbow Hardwood Floor Canister Bagless SE Vacuum Cleaner

The product wasn''t exactly as I hoped. I''ve owned a Rainbow for over twenty years... but instead of replacing worn part, I considered buying a refurbished one on line. I didn''t realize it was only to be used on hardwood floors! Who buys a vacum if you don''t have carpet? So I was disappointed to find it was only for hardwood floors as my home is entirely carpeted. It also has a srange sound when turned off. I love a Rainbow not only because of it''s supreme cleaning power (alot of vacums do this) but none leave the home smelling so fresh. It truly cleans and sanitizes the air as well..... the main reason i love the Rainbow. It also came with a tiny bowl.... my previous Rainbow had a much larger bowl. So for a few reasons I''m not entirely happy with my purchase. I would like to know if the seller would make a motorized foot for carpet available at a reasonable price.

I had my Rainbow for years and it finally bit the dust. I chose this "rebuilt" Rainbow for the price and because I now have only hard floors. I was very excited when it arrived. When I used it the second time, one of the clips that holds the motor unit to the water tank broke off. Upon closer examination, I found that it had been GLUED back on from a previous break. I didn''t think about being "rebuilt" as put together with glue. I thought it meant a rebuilt/reconditioned motor. I will be more wary in the future...

We bought exactly the same "Rainbow" as we had for 20 years. We had another vacuum with a bag for a couple years and did not like it; this is why we wanted "Rainbow" back.

When you see all dirt in the water in canister you feel that your house is clean, plus when you add a few drops of "Rain Forest" or other fragrance to the canister you feel freshness in your house.

We are very satisfied with the product and will recommend to everybody

Beckett Corporation Pond Pump Kit Save 18% Off

Beckett Corporation Pond Pump Kit with Prefilter and Nozzles, 400 GPHUp to this last Beckett purchase I was a great fan of their products, I have three ponds, all three have has Beckett pumps running 24/7 four over six years without problems. I guess that this unit was an exception but two weeks? The filter did not appears clogged and I could not see and debris. The unit runs and the impeller turns, just does not pump any water.

It was just what I wanted and more. I needed to replace my old pond pump and none of the local stores had what I wanted. With the extra fountain features this one is great!

I have several ponds for 12 yrs. now and have had Beckett pumps that lasted for yrs.. This is simply a piece of junk. The foam filters just "sit" on top of the intake tube. There isn''t anyway to lock them in place so mine float right off. I have to hold them in place w/a large flat rock sitting on top to hold them down. Then there is the 400gph. That is a very questionable figure as it doesn''t pump as much as my 300gph does and is all but powerless. I wouldn''t recommend this to anyone. I have had it for a few months so I don''t know how long it will last but I don''t believe long as it seems to pump less and less. If it dies over winter my fish will die. I might just head off trouble and quickly replace it before winter gets here.POS................

Gruene Clean System Steam Mop & Hand Held Steamer Save 27% Off

Gruene Clean System Steam Mop & Hand Held Steamer w/ AttachmentsSo far so good! We had a slight issue at first with it not generating steam, but a call to the customer support number got us straightened out within minutes. Note to buyers: it takes a few minutes (not a few seconds) for water to saturate the filter on the initial use. Customer support recommended taking a squeeze bottle filled with water (we used a dollar store ketchup bottle) and forcing water into the filter. This got us steam within seconds and it''s been gangbusters ever since.

It cleans just as well as a mop with cleaning solutions in less time (if you figure in the time it takes to fill up bucket, mix chemicals, etc.), with less mess (leaves surfaces slightly damp vs. wet), and less cleanup afterward (no chemicals to dump/rinse just throw the cloth pad in the laundry). That''s another thing the clamp that holds the cloth pad on allows you to use any kind of cloth, so you''re not stuck buying replacement pads; you can use old towels or rags. With 3 cats running around like maniacs, it''s great to not have to use cleaning solutions on the floors.

Our only lasting complaint is that the rack that holds the accessories doesn''t fit snugly onto the body of the machine and falls off if you bump it. Until we can figure out how to wedge it a little more tightly we''re just leaving the rack off while in use.

I would definitely recommend!

After spending time over several weeks reading reviews on Steam Mops, it''s clear that the manufacturers need to do some work. There were so many poor reviews in every product line, it was hard to find any product that didn''t have scathing reviews. I found this one on other sites with good reviews so thought I would give it try.

If my son had not accidentally thrown the box away, I would have returned it.

Pros It does clean well. The steam is hot. It leaves the floor wet but dries quickly.

But what you have to fight to get there is not worth it.

Cons: Almost everything

You have to hold the handle down for the steam to come out I rigged it with a strong rubber band as it tired my hands out.

The cord is just not long enough and there is not a cord clasp to keep it out of your way as you are cleaning. The bottom cord holder is so far down on the handle that when you try to wrap the cord around it, you hit the body of the machine.

The plug is weighted heavily so the slightest movement and out it comes I tried pushing the prongs apart but that didn''t help so now I plug it into a power strip isn''t that fun?

The Accessory kit won''t stay on if the machine is at a stand still much less in movement. Really? They couldn''t figure out to fasten a plastic carrier on?

Hard to push. I keep looking down to see if the wheels are really moving since pushing this thing is like pushing rubber across carpet. I''m going to try a microfiber cloth and see if that helps.

It runs out of water just cleaning my small kitchen.

When I pull the water tank stopper out, the whole rubber plug comes out. So I have to ever sooooo gently pull it and hold the other part down to keep that from happening.

There are a lot of tools but seriously, I''m not going to use them so it''s a waste. I did pull it out to use as a hand held model but I could not see any difference in the cleanliness of the sink so who wants to drag the thing around.

I''m using it because I paid for it and I don''t want it go to waste -but I feel foolish getting stuck with this machine.

Buy Gruene Clean System Steam Mop & Hand Held Steamer Now

I''ve read other reviews on this before I purchased mine, so I know all about how it doesnt get next to the mop-boards. I find that if I mop sideways from the mop-board then it gets closer to it than if I were to mop using the head-on approach. I love how you can shut cloths of your choice in it. Consumers like to feel like they have a choice and aren''t forced to buy the proprietary pads for the Shark and other similar cleaners. Additionally this Gruene is more effective because the steam only shoots directly out of the bottom and is not wasted by trying to shoot out the sides or front as some I was able to find during my searches.

A thing to keep in mind: If you''re looking for perfection with any item you''re thinking about choosing then you''re instantly setting yourself up for disappointment. You have to look at it objectively.

Take string mops, Libman removable head mops, Swiffer and standard sponge squeeze mops for example. They ALL leave something to be desired. Be it that they merely push the dirt around, aren''t hot enough (or not hot at all) to sanitize anything whatsoever, take too much elbow grease, use sketchy chemicals that aren''t environmentally or pet friendly, the list marches on.

So, back to the Gruene....

I figured out that for me the thicker micofiber cloths like the ones sold in the kitchen section at Walmart work best due to the fact that they''re bigger, thicker and more absorbent. They don''t seem to shove the dirt through to the other side, so when I want a clean side, I undo it and flip sides on the cloth and insert it in again. I can flip it 4 times before having to change to a new cloth.

Using it as a hand-held makes short work of sanitizing and \ or deodorizing the trash cans, toilet, doorknobs, cupboard doors, stove\oven, bathtub, refrigerator (you have to take ALL of the stuff out first), sinks....just whatever.

I will tell you absolutely without a doubt that the Gruene that it is the ONLY thing so far that I have ever found to clean Baseboard Heaters. The heaters that are insanely long with about a million metal fins that is almost impossible to clean between? :-) God help the person who invented those....I have those in every single room in my good-sized apartment. The first time I blew the heaters out with it, I put everything back together and then looked at it a few days later. I couldn''t see one speck of dust on any of the fins. It blasted out a Reeses peanut butter cup wrapper that I guess had been wedged in behind the fins since before I moved in several years ago! If you''re going to do heaters with it, make sure you have the vacuum cleaner handy to get up the dust and cobwebs as soon as possible.

I don''t really have any serious complaints. It seems very powerful and very reasonably priced considering its a 2 in 1 product compared to other items on the market. The one thing I did find is that when using it, I take the accessory holder off the back, otherwise it will fall off repeatedly.

All in all, I love it! I will be heartbroken if this product is ever discontinued.

I decided to give this steamer 5/5, not because I have any other steamers to compare it tobut because it kicks ass at what it does. I''ve cleaned showers, tile floors, kitchen counter tops, sinks, windows, vinyl plank flooring, car rims and to date there hasn''t been a task that it hasn''t done well on. This being my first steamer purchase, I was skeptical about how easy / hardcore at cleaning it could actually be. What really sold me on this particular model is the dual functionality going from a handheld cleaner to a mop; AND the benefit of being able to use my own cleaning cloths.

Want Gruene Clean System Steam Mop & Hand Held Steamer Discount?

The steam mop was too heavy and would not get next to mop boards and cabinet edges because the plastic frame that holds the fabric on keeps it too far away from all edges, you end up with a regular mop to finish what this one can''t do. The return procedure was very easy. No problems there.

Stainless Pressure Gauge 150 PSI with fitting Save 20% Off

Stainless Pressure Gauge 150 PSI with fittingI have used this unit for over a year now. It does collect water in the gauge area. There is a rubber plug on the back that can be removed to drain it and even flush it out with tap water as needed. Empty the water out and reconnect. Keeps accurate measurement of water pressure.

I have originally thought this was defective but with use found it is a big deal. Take a long time for it to collect water to even interfere with reading the gauge (over six months). The water doesn''t leak out of the unit itself, just fills the unit internally.

Good buy.

Bought three filters to save money. 1 of 3 didn''t work. Water went into the filter, but nothing came out. The other two filters fit and worked fine. Bought this to save money. It turns out I didn''t save anything. I should have bought GSWF 3 packs.

Take your chances with after market items. Hope it''s not Made In China. Oops I just looked at the box and it''s Made In China. Great! Now I hope I didn''t get poisoned by chemicals.

These water filters are the least expensive filters I have been able to find for my GE refigerator.

It is important to run water from the water dispenser after installing these filters. This will not only ensure that you have properly seated the filter during the installation, but will also clean the excess carbon particles from the water line.

If you don''t fully seat the filter no water will flow to your ice maker or water dispenser. (note: it is hard to tighten these filters, but just be persistent) I know this from experience and got lucky because no water was flowing since I had neglected to flush the line after the installation. When I flushed the line after fully seating the filter, it produced black water from the water dispenser until fully flushed. After running a couple glasses from the dispenser everything was running crystal clear. I am very happy that I didn''t end up with black ice cubes, because of my original error in not flushing the line after the install.

Bottom line: Excellent replacement for the much more pricey GE original water filters.

I''ve used these filters for years and I like them. However, Saeco has discontinued this model. Its shaped differently but identical function. It goes by the name of Philips or Saeco Intenza and Amazon does sell them at a slightly more reasonable price as of this review.

Not sure why my last rating isn''t here???

The product itself works because we''ve used many of them BEFORE in our Saeco Incanto machine.

The 2 stars is primarily a rating of the shipping method. When I recieved this, the package it was empty!

This arrived via USPS. The QA of the item "getting" into the package envelope was severely lacking.

The seller blamed the snafu on the ''shipping''... which was either themselves, Amazon or the USPS. In addition to the blame, I hope they might take a minute to resolving mis-packaging issues like this.

Oh well... something to improve upon!

Amazon was great though... they gave me a prompt refund !!

Little bulky in the water reservoir, but small price to pay for keeping my saeco vienna plus boiler working great between descaling every 3 months or whenever boiler wamrmup time starts to fade in hot water delivery out the panarello. Filter must not be shaken or the carbon particles will fall into reservoir gentle hands are key. Still, keep your backup platic mesh cap on underneath the aqua prima just in case. Word of caution, you will lose some steam pressure. I drink black 85% of time, so I don''t care and can remove the filter when I really want strong steam. Also, something else that just may be a quirk of my machine, you will get more coffee sludge accumulating faster behind brew group. It may become a deal breaker, but boy do I hate to descale, so I am conflicted on whether to continue using the aqua prima. I may just get too annoyed cleaning the extra sludge. I will have to decide December 20th when filter swap is due.

This filter works great and I''ve never had any problems with it. It''s easy to insert in the machine and I really like the dial that

shows which month it needs replacing. I always need that reminder after three months).

I will now just do this twice a year just to be sure. but if you let yours get away from you like I did.... get this! it cleans in the pipes were you cant see the gunk building up. clean before you get swimmers rash from your clear spa.

Venta Airwasher #6001040 8.8 OZ Venta Cleaner Save 19% Off

Venta Airwasher #6001040 8.8 OZ Venta CleanerThis is a bottle of citric acid (the stuff that makes lemons sour) with a wetting agent that helps dissolve the minerals (scale, calcium carbonate) that deposit on the evaporator (the moving white plastic finned drum) of the AIRWASHER. Simply fill the bottom housing with fresh water, pour the entire contents (8 oz), turn to low setting; after 2 hours, dump out the water that now has loosened scale, wipe any remaining scale and don''t forget to get the stuff on the bottom of the fan. No smell like the vinegar I used to use. Not harsh like "lime-away" bathroom cleaners. Our local water is hard and during the summer, molds (black and red) can bloom.

This one-use cleaning solution is run-thru the Venta Airwasher periodically to clean out the deposits and gunk. The product works well. Every few seasons, one should ship their Airwasher units back to Venta for their ultrasonic cleaning service. It''s a bit pricey ($40? plus shipping one-way) but it comes back looking like new. They also replace several of the parts as part of this preventive maintenance.

As far as the folks giving this product 1-Star, they should learn how to read as the product description is quite clear. And you cannot blindly trust any of Amazon''s add''l purchase recommendations. So I give those posters 1-star for their intelligence. Kinda reminds me of a deli review I read recently from some goof who gave the place the lowest rating simply because he thought the sandwich prices were too high (he walked away w/o even trying their food).

Zuvo Water Filtration System, 100 Series Save 9% Off

Zuvo Water Filtration System, 100 SeriesI had the Zuvo water filtration set up as a final stage for my reverse osmosis system and after a month of under-the counter use, the hinge on the Zuvo exploded and water was flooding my kitchen. The Zuvo has a carbon filter and an ultra-violet oxidizer (which just adds bubbles to a tanning bed light) and doesn''t do that much for water treatment in heavily populated areas where water is high on the TDS scale. I bought this as an addition to my RO set up but the Zuvo ended up costing more than RO. my RO knocked the TDS down to 12 but the Zuvo raised it to 14 during final filtration. Not 100% sure what this adds to the water other than oxygen but it doesn''t seem to be harmful. I would not recommend this product as a stand alone purifier. I would only recommend this product if you want to add O2 to already purified water. Ultimately, I spent 150 on a 5 stage reverse osmosis system and 160 on the Zuvo. I do not feel as though the Zuvo is worthy of such a high cost given the lack of weight this thing pulls in water purifying. If I didn''t have anything to compare this to, or even compared to brita, this Zuvo is pretty nifty. However, the fact that I was able to test it in comparison to a real filtration system that was cheaper and without power cords, the slack in the Zuvo was apparent.

I rated it 2 stars instead of 1 because I was lucky enough to be home when the thing broke. Had it broken when I was at work I am sure there would be eviction papers waiting for me when I got home to my 3rd floor apartment.

Thank you for reading my review and I hope this was helpful in deciding how you want to use this appliance in your kitchen.

Last note, the hinge that broke was the plastic clamp on the top that clips the carbon filter in place. Pretty sure it was the water pressure that caused it to snap. The glass shield seems to be sturdy.

I purchased this product and had some initial issues due to how the product was handled by the retail store it was purchased from, but I called Zuvo and within a few days I had a brand new product. No complaints since installed the new product. Puts your mind a little more at ease and makes your water taste much better. It is also much easier than having to use filtration pitchers all the time. Great product!
