DeLonghi 14 Cup Programmable Front Access Drip Coffee Maker

DeLonghi 14 Cup Programmable Front Access Drip Coffee MakerThe least of my worries (I thought) were whether or not the coffee maker carafe would pour well. This carafe ruins the fact that the coffee maker makes great coffee. When you try to pour, either coffee into your cup or water into the maker, it spills ontop the counter. I pour slow, fast, and any possible way you can pour and it still runs down the carafe and spills onto the counter. I have no idea how it does this, but it does. I have never had a pot do this before. A $10 Mr. Coffee pot has never done this, but this $100 dollar one does. It drives me nuts. I would give this five stars if the carafe poured correctly, but I can''t because it ruins all the good things about this pot.

Works beautiful and the coffee is just perfect every time. I have had other drip coffee makers, but this one is so easy to use and clean. I like that the water and coffee tubs are easy to fill and I can put this under my cabinets and on my countertop. Looks beautiful too!

Just received this coffeemaker and I couldn''t be happier with it. I have had Bunn coffeemakers for many years and in April replaced my 10 year old Bunn with a new one. Well, the new Bunn was terrible. Very cheaply made, was sketchy when it did decide to work and the carafe leaked like crazy, no matter how careful I tried to be while pouring from it. I finally decided to search for a replacement and came across this model from Delonghi. On top of having many options that the Bunn didn''t (larger carafe, programmable, auto pause when you pull the carafe out while brewing) it just makes a great cup of coffee! And fast! And the fact that you swing the door out to put water and coffee in so you don''t have to pull it out from under the counter makes it even easier and more convenient to use. I''m really happy with it!

Carafe drips all over no matter how you try to pour. Clock only works in military time. I would not recommend.

$100 piece of junk. Thought I was buying a better quality maker due to price. NOT!!!

The carafe design must be flawed, as it is impossible to pour a simple cup of coffee without spilling coffee around the countertop. We called and complained, they sent us a new one and the same problem. It must be a design flaw with the carafe. I would recommend not purchasing this coffee maker.

Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner It works hard to remove built-up soap scum

Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner It works hard to remove built-up soap scum, food stains and discoloration from iron and other water impuritiesI had read some reviews on this before getting and thought it might do better than an at home remedy to get rid of some bad scum and hard water marks in our previously owned dishwasher. It did a decent job but I still had to run a few cycles through with vinegar and bleach to get stains out. For convience and basic upkeep people would probably like this just to run through their dishwasher once or twice a year, but bleach would probably work just as well.

Installed it around April, works great. No leaks. Water tastes great. Filter is very easy to replace. Flow is good.

Diverted did stop to spring back after a while, but it does not bother me too much. It does not cause any leaks and does not cause any inconvenience. In fact, I like it that it stays in "filter" position even after I turn the water off: if I want to switch it to tap water, I just push the pin in.

Highly recommended.

The replacement was easily accomplished. The water quality does for some reason taste a little better than the original filter that came with the unit, but this could all be in my head. The quality of water is still better than ordinary tap, and with a small fridge we cannot sacrifice space with a large filter pitcher. Was looking at filtering systems but being in a rental options are limited. Sticking with this faucet attachment filter for the time being.

EcoloBlue 28 Atmospheric Water Generator

EcoloBlue 28 Atmospheric Water Generator
  • Produces up to 7 Gallons of Pure Drinking Water per day from the air.
  • 5 Filters (Carbon + Reverse Osmosis) + 2 UV lights
  • Internal Stainless Steel 3 Gallon Storage tank
  • Provides Cold Water down to 40 F , Hot Water up to 199 F
  • No more plastic Bottles - Convenient

I recommend purchasing these machines straight from the manufacturer, he''ll give you all the info you need and it is less expensive. Just google "precipitation water generators". The man is brilliant and is inventing simply amazing things, such as these water generators.

I searched for years to figure out how to filter out all the chemicals, metals, bacteria, prescription medications, ect. that is contaminating the municipal drinking water. This is it. The filtration process in this unit alone is probably enough to filter out most everything from the city drinking water, but even better; since the water you''ll be drinking comes from the humidity, none of that junk is there to begin with.

The higher the humidity level in your area, the quicker and more efficiently it will make water.

It took a while to get the new appliance smell out of the drinking water but after that, the water coming from it was, without a doubt, the cleanest tasting drinking water I''ve ever tasted. My friend told me it was like drinking snow and I know it''s even better than that.

However, I speak of the unit in past tense because currently I am not using it. Unfortunately, I let mine sit for quite some time and mold grew in the collection tank. The unit cycles the water to keep it purified, but when there is enough mold growing it just can''t be filtered well enough and it mold gets in your glass.

For this reason, I had originally planned to rate this appliance with four stars. But to downplay such an amazing piece of equipment because of my own neglect is arrogantly ignorant. So my suggestion: Use it and follow the recommended cleaning instructions.

If I could make one improvement to this machine it would be to have an option to keep the unit on but be able to turn off the water production.

I bought this incredible machine a couple of years ago. Yes, it produces incredibly pure, great drinking water, filtering out ALL contaminants, including fluoride and chlorine.

BUT, I have become very frustrated with this machine every time I have changed the filters, it leaks. Even though I have become quite good at changing filters and making sure they are very tightly connected, I still get leaks. It has happened over and over. I fix one leak, and another crops up.

The latest hassle is another leak that has occurred when I replaced the bottom tank. This time, I cannot figure out where the leak is coming from. It is not from the bottom tank, or from the front filters. It is coming from somewhere inside, and to find it, I will have to start taking apart the machine. Well, actually I will not be taking apart the machine, because I''ve pretty much had it. If I find this leak, I know another will occur in the near future.

I believe the bottom tank actually did not have to be replaced (which ecoloblue replaced for free), but in phone conversations with technical support, it seemed that the problem I was having at the time was due to a clog somewhere in the bottom tank. And that is part of the problem all they can do is give advice based on phone conversations. No one is there to actually fix the machine. And you can''t send it in for repairs because it is huge and heavy. So you are stuck fixing it yourself.

In my humble opinion, this machine was not thoroughly tested for long periods of time before going to market. OK, there''s a chance that I am the only one having these problems, but I highly doubt it. Anyway, I have given up on this machine, and will now use some other filtration system, such as Berkey, or even delivery of water. I think this machine needs a complete overhaul and redesign to make it feasible for people to use it in their homes.

The support people are very nice and patient, but there has been an element of frustration there, I think partly stemming from the complete lack of a good manual that goes with this machine, resulting in my complete ignorance in how the machine actually works. I was told when I got the machine that the manual that came with it was going to be updated that was at least a couple years ago, and there still is not an updated manual. So you basically have to figure out how to connect the filters yourself. The current manual does have some explanations, but most of the manual is not usable.

Because of these very frustrating problems, I would caution anyone considering it about my experience, and do not recommend this product to anyone until they can iron out the kinks. If I didn''t have these leaking/clog problems, I would have given this machine 5 stars.

I''ve had my machine nearly a year now and can say it exceeded my expectations. It provides low maintenance free clean drinking water just as it says, and there is no problem creating 7 gallons of drinking water a day if you use that much. With that written, the only downside of this machine is Ecoloblue''s manual and lack of sound instructions for maintenance. They seem to make it far too complex then it is.

Ecoloblue simply needs to put up YouTube videos on how to assemble their filters, replacement and general issues. If they did that it would make their customers'' lives a whole lot easier. There''s a one month cleaning schedule and three month filter replacement schedule (as well as a 6 month filter and 2 year replacement for other types of filters).

The filters are inexpensive. One more note is Ecoloblue is really a good company for helping its customers deal with their questions. Someone will walk you through the process on the phone, and others will offer to come to your house if you''re within a reasonable distance from their headquarters. They''re customer service is really good and you can rely on this company, they''re not all about money but care about the unique and revolutionary quality of their product to change the world.

We just returned from a visit with my husband''s sisters. They had recently purchased this machine and we were SO impressed with the sweet, pure, great-tasting water it produces and I am VERY picky about the taste of water. We had planned to install a whole-house reverse osmosis system, but I think we will purchase one of these instead. The best water I have ever tasted!

I got this machine to help with the go green effort around the globe. it has exceeded my expectations. It makes water from the atmosphere! from the humidity. Only plug it in and it makes water. cold and hot. you don''t need to hook it up to a water line or anything. so you can virtually put it anywhere. And i have stopped buying containers with waters. So, I''m saving the earth and some money!

I would recommend this product to anyone!

  • Compact unit mounts on wall in virtually any cabinet
  • Powerful 1300-watt for quicker recovery

I was told that this unit was far superior to the Insinkerator that I was replacing after 10 years of great service. Not true.

The delivery of the water is uneven, you never know when it will dispense. When it builds up steam in the unit, it just starts dripping to relieve the pressure. There must be a better way, as I didn''t have to put up with the dripping with my Insinkerator. I can''t wait to replace it and it would be gone now, if I hadn''t paid so much for it. It just feels flimsy, sorry it''s not that hot.

I owned a Franke Little Butler. It is the same as this unit. There are about a half dozen suppliers of this identical unit all branded differently, but it has the same guts inside. For $140 bucks you can''t go wrong. Mine lasted about 5 years. I could spend $85 to replace the immersion heating element inside the stainless steel tank, but its so easy to disconnect the two hoses, unplug the power, lift up the unit off the wall-mount bracket and be done with it. It should take 1/2 hour. They are cheaply made, so buy two and put one in the garage for 5 years from now. They''ll probably double in price; where are you going to get that kind of return for your money? Certainly not at Wells Fargo or Bank of America. Oh, the dripping and steaming another reviewer experienced means they had the thermostat set too high. NOTE: If you are going to go away for a while, unplug this unit...the tank is open to the atmosphere and 190 degree water will evaporate over time. The unit does have a thermostat so it will keep cycling on and off till all the water is gone and your immersion heating element burns out. Another reviewer experienced waiting a long time for the water to come out and low temperatures. This unit fills the tank from the bottom up. Hot water rises above cold water. When the tank is finally full, the overflow rises up the center tube and out of the sink fixture; if it takes a long time, that means it has been some time since it was last dispensed from and/or the thermostat is set high. Use a thermometer in a glass of dispensed water to check the temperature and adjust the temperature setting for 190 degrees.

Long Island Homeowner gave a lot of good feedback. I have tried a couple and this is the best that I have had. The unit can produce over 4 cups of very hot water in one run, I haven''t tried the upper limit but that is good enough for most needs. It also has a very fast recovery so you can get more hot water very quickly.

There is some sensitivity to routing of the hot hose to the faucet. If the hose droops down from the unit before going up you will get a little cool water and a sputter/burst of air before getting hot. Be sure to mount the unit level, if you don''t the steam won''t vent properly and you can get sputtering. Construction is average but everything is thin walled so I don''t expect infinite life. Then again, as noted the replacement process is SIMPLE so it really isn''t much of an issue.

This is a replacement for the same item I purchased 4 years ago. You can''t find the replacement heating element so you have to buy a whole new unit. This one ''boils over'' and has air bubbles in the line if the temp is set to the highest setting. The old one didn''t ''bubble'' over. Not really in love with the fact that I have to spend $240 every 4 years for the convenience of instant hot water, but once you commit to the connection type, you can''t easily change vendors.

Sebo 9570AM Automatic Upright Vacuum Automatic Height Protects Floor From Damage Save 32% Off

Sebo 9570AM Automatic Upright Vacuum Automatic Height Protects Floor From DamageI bought this vacuum about a year ago and I love it. I had an Oreck before and I never realized how horrible it was until I got a vacuum that really works. This vacuum picks up everything. We have a dog and two kids and my carpets and hardwood floors are spotless. This vacuum is heavier than the Oreck, but it is worth it. I couldn''t change the bag in my Oreck because there was so much dust, the bag changing on this vacuum is much neater. It is worth the money!

I bought this vacuum in September 2005. I can''t wait to buy another for upstairs! I''ve probably owned 10 vacuums in the past 20 years and this is absolutely the best vacuum I''ve ever owned. It cleans my carpets, hardfloors and stairs equally well. No dust flying around, no dirt shooting around the hard floors and no mess changing the bag. I simply love it. It was worth every cent.

For me personally, it is the best vacuum cleaner. As owner of vacuums that last 2-3 years, let me tell you that this vacuum will last 10-20 years. It is so reliable that it is used in places such as Buckingham palace. Great durability, reliability, and value. I educated myself about vacuums and also cost of bags, HEPA filters. Sebo vacuum bags cost as much as Hoover bags. Attachment on this vacuum works really well. Sebo has a lot of authorized dealers that will help you and advice you if needed. Hepa filter on average needs change about once a year. Stay away from Dyson Get vacuum that really sucks--dust! My carpet looks brand new. It lifted the pile and it just look different. Love vacuuming and I am not clean freak.

I really do not have a lot of experience with my new Sebo, I just bought it yesterday. It was more than I wanted to spend but I have had such bad luck with vacuum cleaners over the years that I needed something reliable.

I went to an actual vacuum cleaner store and got the run down. I had first considered the Dyson and the salesman recommended it. I wanted something bagless, upright and would suck. After awhile he started talking about the Sebo, gave a little "pet hair" demo and I was impressed. Even though the Sebo actually has less sucking power than the Dyson it out-vacuumed it. And I liked the design of the Sebo. It is simple and sleek. When I look at the Dyson I wonder if it is supposed to launch me into space or vacuum my floors. All that plastic is a big drawback for me as well.

Like I said, I have had the worse luck with vacuum cleaners. The last one I had was a Hoover that we picked up from Home Depot for $99 on sale. No wonder, they were trying to get rid of them. Silly thing looked like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars. And even with the Sebo, the salesperson offered me the red model. Told him I did not want it because it reminded me of the disastrous Dirt Devil we once had.

As I mentioned in the beginning, I have only had the Sebo since yesterday. I may be hauling it back in a week and tell them I want something else. But it has received some great reviews AND it is made in Germany in a "green" factory. I like that.

I vacuumed the entire house yesterday, stairs and all. Carpets, linoleum, fake wood, tile and it handled it all. One of the things that most impressed me was when you get near the dust bunnies and pet hair on a hard surface it does not blow them away. I always hated when I would be running around the house trying to suck up the clumps that always stayed in front of me. Great exercise but very frustrating.

My carpets are a disaster, they will be replaced in the near future. But after going over them with the Sebo they actually felt better. What else can I say.

Want Sebo 9570AM Automatic Upright Vacuum Automatic Height Protects Floor From Damage Discount?

I bought this vacuum used on eBay after having researched it and realizing the sticker price was out of my price range. I have two dogs with long hair that shed like crazy, and a Norwegian Forest Cat (long, long poofy hair) and the pet hair in our house was so insurmountable that I have literally shed tears over it.

Our old vacuum was a Hoover Windtunnel with "pet hair attachement"...what a joke. During shedding seasons we literally had to rake our carpet with the One Sweep rubber broom before vacuuming, and even then after one room the Hoover would start burning and we''d have to get out the screwdrivers and start what we called "surgery" to get the pet hair off the agitator, which took about 30 minutes. I can''t believe I lived my life like that. Also, I have pretty severe dust and pet hair allergies, so the process of vacuum "surgery" would result in bronchial inflamation, itchy skin, watery eyes and a runny nose. It was such a horrible ordeal that we didn''t vacuum often, and then we would avoid having guests in our house.

We got our Sebo X4 a month ago, and it has changed my life. We don''t have to rake the carpet, and when the agitator gets too much pet hair on it a little light tells you to clean it, and GET THISyou just push a button, a door pops open, and the whole agitator pops out!!! Then you can pull of the pet hair in 15 seconds, pop it back in, and you''re on your way. My allergies are not irritated when I vacuum, and we''ve vacuumed our hairy 1600 square foot house probably eight times now and we haven''t had to change the bag. It folds down so that I can vacuum under our bed with it, and it works on wood floors! You can actually vacuum your wood floors with this upright and it doesn''t blow the dirt and hair away. Best vacuum ever ever ever.

Anyone with a pet hair problem should get this vacuumyour quality of life will improve dramatically, and you can wear black again! Amazing!

Sweetfilter Washing Machine Filter Lint Trap Can Double The Life of Septic Tank Systems Save 47% Off

Sweetfilter Washing Machine Filter Lint Trap Can Double The Life of Septic Tank Systems
  • Discharge water from a washing machine is laced with enough lint, hair, and non-biodegradeable fibers to carpet your living room once a year. When it drains into a utility sink, the debris clogs the drainpipes and can destroy your septic tank system.
  • Our polyester bag traps lint before it enters the drain by fastening it over the end of the washer discharge hose. Bypass valve prevents overloading and expensive damage to washer pump.
  • Our LT-1 kit has a finer mesh to trap more fibers than any other filter tested.4 X the capacity and 400 X lint removal of other traps tested.
  • One package includes 1 lint traps and locking velcro straps. To insure maximum septic tank life replace the LT-1 every 2-3 weeks.
  • 30 day money back warranty.

Ordered this filter product in hopes that it would attach better to our washing machine''s hose that drains into a stationary tub and is then pumped. We have had issues in the past with our pump getting clogged with lint and hair which leads to leaks. The product certainly traps lint but the issue was keeping the filter attached to the hose. The velcro attachments do not hold well and once they get wet they are even less effective. The picture shows an orange zip tie and white filter however we received gray velcro bands and a black cloth filter (which made it harder to see the lint when cleaning). I also found that the filter was not easy to clean, the lint just sticks too well. This means you will have to replace the filter often. We are back to using nylon socks and attach with zip ties or a strong rubberband. They are also much easier to clean and seem to last longer for us. I would not recommend this product but it may work better for you.

This thing works so good I have to clean it out every week. It traps 100% of dog hair which in turn traps 100% of dirt, therefore clogging this guy weekly. Thus: If you are looking for something to just trap large items which may clog your drain, this isn''t for you. If you are looking for something to keep all residue from your drain, this is perfect.

The Sweetfilter Washing Machine Filter/Lint trap is pretty good. It basically gets the job done, though I''m still convinced there''s a much better design out there that hasn''t been exploited yet. The velcro strap that it comes with to tighten on to the tube from your washing machine doesn''t work for beans. You need to go with a hose clamp -which you can pick up at any hardware store (in the plumbing or automotive departments) -it''s the only thing that will reliably hold your sweetfilter on. This really should standard with the shipped out product.

Ionways Isis Water IonizerThe product was delivered quickly and easy to set up. My main problem was finding a faucet to hook it up to. I have lots of faucets but they are a little fancy with pull out spouts and don''t allow for the machine to screw on to it. I had to put it up in my bedroom and hook it to a faucet up there so it is a little inconvenient. Rubbermaid 20-Ounce Filtration Personal Bottle (Blue) Save 20% Off

Rubbermaid 20-Ounce Filtration Personal Bottle -BlueI bought this bottle so that I could stop buying cases of water. There were so many empty bottles of water in my car it looked like I had a problem. I really wanted something that would allow me to have filtered water anywhere. I read the reviews on the Bobble and the Brita filtered bottles, but many complained about noise and leaking. I found this in my grocery store and when I couldn''t find a lot of reviews online I decided to take a chance on it. I''m glad I did.

Love this water bottle. I waited to write this review until I took it to work with me as I believed that to be a true test of the filter. The tap water where I work is disgusting and tastes like copper soaked in chlorine. This water bottle turns the nasty water at work into bottled water taste.

In addition:

-The screw on cap that is attached to the finger loop keeps the mouthpiece sanitary without having to keep track of a little plastic cap

-soft, squeezable, but durable feeling plastic that is also BPA free

-sounds like a squeezable water bottleit''s not silent, but I haven''t noticed any weird ''wooshing'' or hissing that reviews have commented about other filtered bottles.

-No leaking whatsoever!

-Clicker wheel on the bottom of the filter helps you keep track of when to change it

This bottle is going to save me so much money and waste. I can''t wait to take it camping in Julythere''s tap water for drinking at the campground and this will save us from lugging bottled water to the campsite.

I bought the two-bottle and extra filter set as a starter; we wanted to test this design. The decision to start with this product was based on comments on this Web site as well as others. After using it for two weeks taking it to school, shopping, and sailing with us, I decided to purchase two more because this product design and performance met our needs and fit into our life style.

We love the design:

1). The two cap system is easy to work with-you don''t unscrew the filter when you want to unscrew the drinking cap or refill the bottle;

2). The filter is easy to prime and to replace;

3). The bottle does not leak even when tilted upside down: you can suck out the water or squeeze the bottle; either way works well;

4). The plastic is durable and can be squeezed without damage or puckering;

5). It fits into our vehicle''s cup holders (Hyundai and Ford SUV);

6). You can refill the bottle easily; the mouth is wide enough and the strap holds on to both the drinking cap and the filter section; it doesn''t fall off the bottle at all!

7). Durable plastic works well on the boat.

We love the quality (taste of water) it provides:

1). The water tastes great: no chemical smells or taste-and we refilled using harbor/marina taps as well as public parks, office and school drinking fountains, and our home tap.

2). No particles penetrate the filter.

I bought this bottle just because it was only $10 and I was curious to see how well filter bottles work. I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it, as tap water in my area isn''t exactly great for drinking, and this bottle made tons of difference! It greatly improves the taste of the tap water, and it has encouraged me to drink more as I no longer have to pop open a bottle of water every time I want a drink. I can just refill straight from the tap, and I''m sure in the end I will be saving a lot of money. The top does not leak (unlike other types of filter bottles), and the stream of water is always strong with minimal effort (again, unlike others). And, at $10, it''s not that big of an investment. Filters last a couple months, and a 2 pack of replacements is also $10. Definitely worth a try.

After looking at the CamelBak and Brita filter bottles I decided to get this one because of all the positive reviews. I am glad to say I have not been let down. Here are some of the pros and cons of this bottle.

Pros:

-Water tastes good (It''s no Poland Spring, but it''s good)

-The bottle is easy to use once you get used to it

-Dishwasher safe

-The lid is wide enough to easily fit ice cubes into the bottle

-Wide drinking mouth, easy to get a good swig of water when you''re thirsty

-No leakage whatsoever

-There''s a feature to hold cap down so it doesn''t smack you in the face while drinking (it doesn''t say this anywhere on the packaging, but you can pull on the finger-loop when the cap is unscrewed and there is a little nub that holds the cap down)

-Filter is easy to set up (only takes ~30 seconds) and lasts about 2 months

-There''s a filter timer on bottom (Very simple design, you just click it onto the month you need to replace the filter)

Cons:

-There''s a puff of air that comes out right before the water. This takes some getting used to. I have found that it''s easier to sort of pour the water into your mouth instead of closing your lips over the bottle.

-The bottle has a somewhat small capacity and if you fill it all the way it spills over when you put the top on (because of the space the filter takes up)

-There''s a screw cap over the drinking nozzle so you have to unscrew it every time you want a drink. I think a snap cap would have been better but if you''re sitting at a desk you can just leave it open or lightly screwed. I think the screw cap helps to stop leakage from happening.

Overall it''s a great bottle and I would definitely recommend it.

Nice wide opening for ice. Fills easily. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it can be hard to drink out of due I assume to the filter (or maybe a combination of the ice and the filter). Found I have to ether squeeze or suck pretty hard to get the water out.

SPT SF-610 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with IonizerThere are so many things wrong with this unit that I''m surprised I''ve managed to remember them all. Some other reviewers have touched base on them already, but here are the details:

* You put water and/or ice in the top of the unit; you cannot put water where the ice is and vice-versa. The area where you pour water into is about 3x2 inches in size (yes, really!), while the area for ice is about 7x3 inches. You literally need a funnel or a small plastic tube to fill the unit up with water (see below). But it gets worse...

* Easily the biggest flaw: the water/melted ice goes down a tube and literally into the casing of the unit! There is no water tank, or centralized hold for liquids. The entire bottom of the unit is the "tank", if you can even call it that.

* The two cooling packs provided contain some sort of cheap coolant liquid inside of them -they do cool quite well, but here''s the problem: they''re physically too large. The cooling packs are dropped into the bottom of the casing (where the water is), right into the water. They don''t mount inside anywhere.

* The "door" for the cooling packs is too small for my hand (and I have small hands), which makes removing the cooling packs impossible. It took me a good 5 minutes using a pair of plastic pliers to grab a pack and remove it. The door is held shut with magnets, which is admittedly nice. But the door empties right into the water "tank", which means you might as well fill it up from the side and not the top! What were they thinking when they engineered this thing?!

* Water pump is a pump intended for aquariums. If you open up the back of the unit (which you have to do for water filter cleaning; see below), you can peek inside and see quite clearly printed on the pump "AQUARIUM PUMP". Most aquarium pumps I know are loud, not soft/quiet nor do they hum; and because the pump is screw-mounted to the bottom of the unit (which is plastic), I''m left thinking the entire unit must vibrate heavily when powered on. This makes you question the production quality of this item.

* Water refill line is recessed deep inside the unit due to how the plastic casing is molded; it''s impossible to read, and it''s incredibly important (see above) to not go above a certain fill line. If you go above the line, water will start to come out of the front of the unit, and the rear of the unit (bottom of where the air filter starts).

* The air/lint filter on the back is easily removable. However, to clean the water filter, you must remove 6 screws and proceed to wiggle/wobble plastic pieces until you pull the back of the unit out. Why screws? Why not some retention plastic, or a clip? Better yet, why not magnets like the ones used on the coolant door? You cannot remove it entirely, because attached to it (permanently) is a bright orange hose connected somewhere within the unit; it has no slack. You need 3-4 hands to do this job.

* The water filter itself is what looks to be nylon webbing, identical to what some people use in a clothes hamper. It''s just some cheap mesh with some Velcro on it so you can remove it semi-easily.

* Manual states you must clean the water filter every 2 weeks. Yup, you get to disassemble the unit that often. Fun for the whole family?

* Much to my amusement, the drainage spout (if you need to drain the unit) is directly behind where the AC power cord is. Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea?

Should you avoid this product? Absolutely. I''m left wishing I could give this thing negative stars; seriously, SPT should be ashamed for engineering something like this. I realize it''s somewhat inexpensive, but what you get for under a hundred US dollars isn''t even worth it.

It has everything you want of a fan timer, 3 speed, variable direction, remote control, but don''t think this will in any way reduce the temperature in the room at best you get a fan with built-in humidifier.

It comes with ice packs, but using these doesn''t make any difference either, and good luck getting them back out after using them the hole you have to drop them in is the same size as the ice pack, so once you get your hand in there and get a grip on them, you can''t get your hand back out.

Update: Died after less that two years.

Even living somewhere where it is very low humidity (usually less than 10%) it does not cool enough to make it worth the noise. The noise actually kept me up at night. Get a normal fan instead it will work better in the long run.

This lilttle fan/cooler is good. First it kinda takes you back because it resembles and old home furnace but in a modern twist. This cooler works just fine for us in our living room. Which is on the small size. Now this thing isnt gonna make you cold or do the work of a real cooler but its better than a fan and it has many settings to help you adjust it just rite. The ionizer is a great feature. Im not sure how well or how much it ionizes but there are times you can tell its working. Overall I do recommend this product to anyone who needs a little help cooling down and doesnt want to spend Air Conditioner prices. Remember this little guy is great but if youre looking for a major cooling effect this isnt the item for you.

I completely agree with the prior reviewers regarding the blatant design flaws of this ''cooler''. It''s basically a badly designed under performing room fan. If you are looking for a real swamp cooler do yourself a favor and buy another product.

Pentek 155141, RFC-BB Radial-Flow Granular Activated Carbon Cartridge

Pentek 155141, RFC-BB Radial-Flow Granular Activated Carbon Cartridge, 25 MicronI use this to filter all the water that enters our home. I change it about once a year and it''s not too dirty, so our water from the city is not too bad. It''s nice to catch some of the dust and such in the water and also run it through the carbon before it hits our water softener, hopefully extending the life of the softener as well. We also use a 1 micron carbon block filter in the fridge for our drinking water, and this pre-filter probably helps keep that working longer as well.

Full flow, couldn''t even tell there was a filter on, zero taste, and crystal clear water. Using this unit as a travel trailer filter and it works GREAT.
