The pros:

if you prefer a paper filter (and we do) it can be hard to place it in basket such that it doesn''t fall over and make a mess with grounds all over the place and coffee not right (and basket full of messy leaking liquid)

the stop drip feature seems to work worse than most (ours doesn''t seem to stop anything)

machine is heavy hard to slide around the counter

produces a lot of steam so you really can''t have it right under a counter

We loved our old Cuisinart with thermal carafe (a style not made anymore) but this machine seems to make better, hotter coffee that stays hotter longer. When the filter flops over though (which is does sometimes despite what I think is careful positioning) it makes a terrible mess. We never had this problem with our old machine.

All in all a decent machine with a few flaws.

All I want is a good cup of coffee. When our Braun coffeemaker stopped working I went on-line to Amazon to look for a new machine with a thermal carafe. I read far too many reviews and every product seemed to have more negative reviews than I like to see. Common complaints were: coffee not hot enough, coffee maker and/or carafe spills too easily, and machine stopped working. So I had to go to a real store several stores in fact and see these coffeemakers for myself. I ended up with this Calphalon HE100CMT coffee maker, which at the time I bought it had only one Amazon review.

Inspecting the display models, I found that the construction of this Calphalon was noticeably better than the other coffee makers in its price range. Instead of plastic made to look like metal this has a real metal shell (which I''ll admit shows fingerprints readily). The hinged covers for the brewing basket and water reservoir seemed more rugged and of a higher quality than the other units on the shelves. So I brought the Calphalon home.

I think coffee maker engineers have quite a challenge making thermal carafes that keep coffee hot. My wife, who would prefer a glass carafe on a hot plate, finds the coffee temperature from the Calphalon''s thermal carafe acceptable only because I pre-warm the carafe and her coffee mug with hot water. Compared to our simple old Braun thermal carafe, this Calphalon carafe has a spring-loaded button in its lid to keep heat in once the carafe is removed from the coffee maker, and gaskets on the screw-on lid. I''m not sure this makes much real difference in the temperature but this design very nearly made me return the Calphalon to the store.

Of the first three full pots of coffee I made, two created countertop spills that rivaled that of the Exxon Valdez. After the first disaster I made sure I had the carafe top screwed on correctly, the coffee cone positioned just so, and the entire coffee maker leveled on our not very level counter. I still experienced a second disaster and as Calphalon advertises this coffee maker brews a lot of coffee in a hurry so there was quite a flood. To the reviewer who called this design "pathetic" if I''d seen your review I wouldn''t have bought this product. However, I did buy the machine and I was not ready to admit to my wife that I''d made a mistake. After experimenting I''ve convinced myself that the lid button when new is a little sticky and that making sure it moves freely will avoid flooding. This has worked uneventfully for the past few days and we''ve enjoyed our coffee.

This Calphalon is a big coffeemaker. It has a removable water reservoir, and I think that''s why it''s half again as big as my old Braun with its built-in water tank. And one more observation: the Calphalon''s "auto pause and serve valve" should be called "slows down dripping somewhat when you remove the carafe". I think I would give this machine 3 1/2 stars if I could but I''ll round up and give it four stars.

Our Calphalon coffee maker expired today, less than a year after we bought it. After it made this morning''s coffee we detected an electrical odor and it appears that the heating element burned out. (I opened it up to conduct a post-mortem.) I see that other reviewers have reported this problem.

My wife''s reaction when I told her that the machine had died was "oh good." She was tired of wrestling with the screw-on carafe lid, having to wipe up spills whenever we poured coffee from the carafe, and the "auto pause" feature never quite working. I leapt onto Amazon and ordered a new machine from a different manufacturer.

I''ll take away two stars from the Calaphon due to its early demise and leave it with two stars since it did make pretty good coffee for almost a year.

Have you ever read the reviews on ANY coffee maker? Check them out on any brand and you''ll find the same complaints. Most of these are user error. Let''s start with the biggie, coffee leaks all over the countertop when brewing. Older coffee makers shot the water over the grounds in the filter with a single stream of water. New units transfer the water with something resembling a shower head. If you put a paper filter in the unit and it isn''t perfectly placed, the heated water will fold the paper filter over and water will leak everywhere. You don''t need to concern yourself with this problem on this unit as it comes with a gold, metal filter. Don''t use paper filters. Besides that, the gold filter saves you money.

I bought his unit because it has a metal, thermal carafe. Glass carafes break. Units with glass carafes have plate type heaters to keep the coffee warm. This causes the water in the coffee to evaporate rendering the coffee horrible in a short period of time. With the thermal carafe the coffee is kept warm for hours and you can take the carafe to the dinner table or desk in your office. The next common complaint is about the tops on all the thermal carafes. In order for the coffee to remain warm in the thermal carafe, the lid must fit securely. People are not careful in putting the lid on the carafe and strip the threads on the lid. When the threads become stripped, the lid will leak. When you screw on the lid, make sure that it screws on evenly. You won''t have any problems.

This unit brews 10 cups in about 2 minutes. It''s smokin'' fast. It also has several brewing modes, bold, 1-4 cups and a combination of both bold and 1-4 cups. When you set the timer for auto brewing, the mode you have set does not show in the display.

The unit looks great on the countertop and it''s smokin'' fast. Take my tips into consideration and you will enjoy some great coffee.

UPDATE: The coffee maker simply quit working after approximately one month. I returned it.

The mechanism that is meant to seal off the pot to keep it hot does not work propoerly and coffee spills all over the counter and floor when it brews. This happened 4 out of the first 10 times I used the machine, plan to take it back immediately. As mentioned in a previous review the lid also leaks when pouring. For a fairly expensive coffee maker, this is pathetic, doesn''t even do the basics correctly. Please do not buy this product.

I was a bit skeptical as I really liked (mostly) our old Cuisinart thermal 12-cup maker (owned two) but one day it just stopped turning on every time probably fro an overflow of coffee earlier. My wife works at Macy''s and got this one with her discount. Wasn''t sure . at first...I now like it a lot!

I will echo what another poster said... most complaints on this maker are user inflicted. It does require some thought and effort. Unlike the Cuisinart which was stupid simple to use.

Pros...

Great tasting hot coffee, Very fast, Looks good, Removable Water tank, gold-tone filter.

Cons...

More daily maintenance, only 10-cup, instructions not clear. Stupid time setting no skipping fast forward etc.

Mid-pour does not not work at all.

Here are my trial and error pointers when using this particular coffee maker...

First, make sure you clean the thermal carafe out every time, to avoid forgetting and making another pot. That makes a total mess. I did this at first. Since you have an removable reservoir you may forget there is liquid already in the carafe. I did.

Second, There are three arrows on the lid.. use them! The unlabeled arrow is he "brew" arrow... the other labeled ones are "pour" and "lock". Take the time to set the proper arrow. Also be very careful when you initially screw the cap on. Line the threads up.

Third, rinse out the carbon filter in tank before you put in reservoir to get rid of a lot excess carbon. I have RO filtered water so after it wears out (3 months)I''ll probably not use their carbon filter system.

In all I like it! It has more daily maintenance time than the Cuisinart, makes much better coffee. I think if you are OK with the daily maintenance to keep this run running smooth its a great good looking choice. I does make coffee faster which is nice and the carafe opening is large enough and shallow enough that you can really clean the carafe unlike the Cuisinart which got really black really quick over time.

We are keeping the Cuisinart thermal carafe as a backup as it does a better job maintaining the temperature over many hours.. for parties etc. This one keeps coffee hot but for not the same amount of hours.

4 stars just because it isn''t perfect... I''m sure no coffee maker is "perfect". They all have pluses and minuses.

I Could not figure out why every time i turned on the wall mount 5 gallon it would stink..a strange burning smell..i thought perhaps it was electrical..something in the motor...but no, its the black rubbery edges of the filter..they gas out a putrid smell..the previous reviewer was right..its the rubber on the filter that stinks and it does not quit gassing out..bought a new filter and its the same smell..the second reviewer is wrong..he said it shouldn''t be used indoors,,hogwash....this small canister 5 gal vac is designed to be used indoors...thats the beauty of it...small and easy to move.

I use this filter with all my dry vacuuming. I use it with a filter bag for drywall and orbital sander dust. Otherwise, it would clog more easily than I have patience for. If it gets clogged when vacuuming coarser material, you can just take it out and knock/scrape the debris off. When I use only the foam sleeve, fine dust gets blown into the air and settles on the stuff in my garage.

Product descriptions on amazon.com can be a bit sparse sometimes, but it was fairly easy to find the filter I wanted because the product number matches the one on the ShopVac website. It would have given me some peace of mind if either amazon.com or ShopVac identified this filter as "Type AA", which one would assume was the model number based on its prominence on the packaging.

The filter is an excellent filter, but it stinks with a very bad strong smell. If you plan on getting this one for your vacuum cleaner to use outside, then I would say rock and roll. The price is right, it is a hard to find filter and it does a good job in being a filter, but keep in mind, it stinks to high heaven.

I consider this a great product.

The taste of our drinking water unfiltered makes it very clearly "city water", with myriad chemical flavors. The taste after going through the filter is absolutely pure and flavorless. It fills a five gallon jug in about 28 minutes in a home with a normal PSI.

As far as upkeep: Cleaning the sediment filter is a two minute process which you shouldn''t have to do more than a few times a year. Other than that I''ve not done anything. Two years after purchasing it I''m doing my first replacement, replacing the original R/O membranes.

I installed the filter system several months ago an I REALLY like it. However, the light has been flashing red and it is time to change the filters. Problem is, if I still have any original instructions, they are misplaced now, and the filter package has no instructions. I figured I had to turn off the supply water and relieve the pressure by pressing on the air valve pin as you would a tire valve. I was able to unscrew the filter housings by hand and insert the new filters that went fine. I left the outlet open for a while to let the air escape that went fine.

I also assume and vaguely remember that one of the filters gets changed less often than the others. By observing how many of each there are, I suppose I did that correctly.

My question is this: Am I supposed to add air pressure with a pump, or, will the incoming water build up the required pressure in time?

I just installed one of these filters. The push-in connectors worked great. The only thing I needed was an adapter to connect the compression fitting to the flanged cut-off valve. I purchased this product after seeing the positive reviews it received. Unfortunately my purchase would not be one of them.

The filter is not difficult to setup at all (they even have a step-by-step instructional video on their web site if you need), it only took about 30 mins at the most. The issue came when turning the water on and losing water pressure after installation. The water line was cut so there was no excessive tubing to restrict water flow, so that wasn''t the issue. 3M Filtrete touted their product as one that would not lose water pressure, but yet this was the exact issue I had.

I went to their web site for support... no support to be found on their web site. So I sent an email explaining my situation... to this day (more than 4 weeks later) I have yet to receive a reply regarding my issue. I considered returning the item to Amazon, but allowed myself to become content with the pressure until I decide to buy a replacement.

So if you are able to install the filter with no issues, then sure it''s worth the purchase for the positive effects it can have on your water. But be advised, it may not work as advertised, so be prepared to send it back if you are not satisfied.

I have a lot of experience plumbing and since I have this experience I sadly have to use this knowledge.

It''s a simple install if the product came with the right parts. Typical filter lines are 1/4" compression on both sides. The adapter that comes with the product goes from a 3/8" tube to a 3/8" male. So now you have to figure out how to get from a 3/8" male pipe to a 1/4" compression. It took me a couple of trips to OSH and HD to get the right tube union which goes from 3/8" tube to 1/4" compression to get this right. So I skipped the adapter that came with the product altogether. btw the tube union that I needed is cheaper at OSH 3.99 vs 5.50 at HD. The other user error here was that I pushed the provide pipe into the filter and turned on the water and it was leaking all over the place. I then realized that I need to make sure that it is pushed all the way in. Once I did that, there were no leaks.

OK, I have had this humidifier for about two months now. Make sure you are aware of the requirements of a filter-free humidifier before you buy one. First of all, I couldn''t stand having a filtered humidifier. Constantly having to buy filters, they''d be out of stock at Target, unavailable for my brand at the supermarket, just too annoying, and honestly, they''re several bucks every time. I am suprised by all the negative reviews. We bought 1 for my oldest daughter last year (end 2006) as she had croup and it worked just fine. A few months ago my youngest daughter had also a cold and cough at the same time as my oldest so we went back to buy a second one.

We don''t have mold issues (even though very often if it is not in use we forget to take the water out...and to take the water out is recommended)

It makes the room humid enough (windows are wet the next morning) the best thing for cold/coughing instead of dry air.

Yes it makes quit a lot of noise when it is running but it doesn''t cause a problem for my 2 girls to feel or stay in sleep.

And yes we had the first time we used also the waterproblem as we didn''t put it back right. But after that never had a problem again...

I''ve had this unit for five months and dropped the Protect cartridge in there every month on the 12th to keep it clean. Despite these efforts, it has developed a pink film along with black mold that you can smell when it operates. I''m having trouble breathing. The area that is affected is IMPOSSIBLE to get to in order to clean it even with pressurized air. My unit has also flooded on two occassions destroying everything on my dresser.

I contacted Kaz who makes the unit. They said they would replace it but I''d be out of a unit for 6-8 weeks and I''d have to pay shipping costs. They will not replace it with another unit so I''m sure the same problem will reoccur. I decided to clean the unit the best that I can (this took 2 hours) and use liquid bacteriostatic water treatment instead of the worthless Protect cartridges. I hope this works.

For me this has worked perfectly for months now, keeping the air in the room with my guitar at just the right humidity. I bought mine elsewhere but have had others and this one works just fine if you know what you are doing and take precautions. Not for every one, but for most, the red / orange is not mold but iron in your water. For most but not all, the white powder is lime in your water. This is a fact of life for many areas of the country and why people use water filters and water softeners. If you are in a problem area, use a Brita pitcher to filter the water you fill it with. I have tried it with our softened water with no problems but we recently got rid of the softener and will soon be switching to truly filtered water for the entire house. Until then I use a filtered water pitcher. All humidifiers have this problem. Even Consumers gave none more then an average rating for this problem. Baking soda, light bleach mixture, special cleaner, or just let it completely dry out once in a while and you, as I am, will probably be happy with the unit. Mine is still running clear and clean. For the money, this one ca''t be beaten.

As so many others have stated, this product is a complete waste of money, and, I believe, a health hazard. If I could give it "0" stars I would. Despite my best efforts to use filtered water, a ProTec cartridge, and disinfect all reachable parts on a weekly basis with vinegar and/or bleach, mold has grown in the motor housing that is impossible to reach in order to properly sanitize this product. After contacting Kaz, I was told the same thing as so many others (I was hoping maybe they had changed their policy), that I would have to send the item back on my own dime, just to receive the same piece of junk as a replacement. Then, once I received the new one, I should "empty all the water from the tank and base (daily). Then run the unit without any water in it for at least 1 hour to dry the fan housing. If you do not want to run the unit without any water I would just remove the fan housing and unscrew the bottom cover and lay the fan housing on its side so it can air dry." Yeah, like I have the time to do that every day with two small children and one on the way. So this humidifier will probably end up in the trash, a waste of $45 + tax.

FYI, in the last couple of weeks I have purchased a Crane humidifier which doesn''t require a filter either (unless you have hard water), for less money, and so far I haven''t had any issues with it. It does its job perfectly! From now on, I will not be purchasing any more Vicks/Kaz products due to their complete lack of concern that they have sold a health hazard and aren''t taking any responsibility to rectify the situation.

I am sorry to be the minority with a negative review, but this purifier did not stack up. We bought an Idylis from a big box store and I used a Dylos DC1100 Pro air quality monitor laser particle/air quality meter (purchased here on Amazon also) to test and compare. In the same room (approximately 300 sq ft.) I ran both (separately) on high and low. The Idylis would show a positive affect on the large and small particles in the air on low and a significant impact on high. The Mammoth barely had an impact when on high, and no impact on low. The low was also as loud as the Idylis was on medium, but then again the Idylis was a large unit, so a larger fan (needs to spin slower to move the same amount of air). Both units had UV turned on. I also turned on the "ionizer" function of the Mammoth, but none of our family could tell a difference.

I will state that while this was listed as a 6 stage unit, it also came with the optional ozone plate (the 7th filtration stage). But we did not install it for our testing. I think I am already outside of my window to return this, but if not, then it is going back.

I won''t attempt to compare this machine to the other brands out there, but I CAN attest to the fact that Flavia is darn good coffee.

My office has the great big Flavia machine that automatically disposes of the used packs, and is plumbed for water. Right beside that machine we have a coffee maker that is only brewed with Starbucks. For the past three years, the Flavia machine is ALWAYS more popular. It''s just fun to use also.

For anyone considering the middle of the line SB100 machine, keep in mind that it does NOT handle multiple-pack brews. That means no creamy toppings.

This machine comes with the Drinks Medley for $20 extra. I couldn''t find the contents of that Medley anywhere, so here it is:

The Flavia does have one BIG downside (hence 4 stars) there are very few places that carry the brew packs. Worse, most of the on-line stores can only sell to certain states per their agreement with Flavia. So, you may very well be forced to buy your refills from Flavia.net. A ''rail'' of 20 coffee or tea packs runs about $8.50-9.50. The creamy topping is 25 cents a pack. Add shipping and tax, and that creamy cappuccino with sprinkles costs over a buck for a 7oz cup. The going rate at E-bay is 40 cents a pack before shipping. Once Amazon starts selling Flavia coffees, this machine will get 5 stars.

UPDATE:

I''ve made about a dozen cups of coffee with this machine. The adjustable height of the dispenser is really handy; if you lower till it touches the rim of your cup, there will be no splashing. You really should dab a paper towel underneath the dispenser after you use it (especially if you just used creamy topping or choco). I can see how the machine can get yucky if you don''t do this. The machine IS surprisingly noisy, but only for about 15 seconds per cup. Flavia makes great brew packs they do not leak when you remove the used ones. Of course, if you squeeze a used coffee pack, it will leak.

The medley kit comes with a travel cup, yet the cup is too tall for the machine as pictured. You need to remove the overflow tray to make it fit. The travel cup holds 14 ounces (two brew packs worth) comfortably.

If you are going to be buying disposable cups for this machine, I recommend getting 8 ounce and possibly 16 ounce cups. This way, you can keep the volume setting on the machine at 7 ounces, using one or two coffee packs, respectively. If you use your own coffee cups, you''re going to have to constantly be changing the volume setting for different cups. We bought cheap styrofoam cups from our local warehouse store and keep a stack (with lids) nearby.

I almost bought a Tassimo, but glad I read the reviews, which is what caused me to look into this unit instead. I read all it''s reviews and couldnt find anyone who had a bad experience with it. ONE NOTE...... the TRAVEL MUG that comes included in the MEADLY PACK DOES FIT. You have to read the instruction manual which most people dont. It specifically says on PAGE 9, and I quote " THE DRIP TRAY CAN ALSO BE REMOVED TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR TRAVEL MUG". Reading ALL of the isntruction booklet is highly recommended.

Anyway, the best part of this machine is that it accepts any size mug or cup by way of it''s sliding head adjustment. It slides down covering your container opening, so there is absolutely no splash out as the beverage is dispensed directly into your container.

I love the removable water reservoir, which will holds 32 oz of water...or about (6) 7oz cups of your favorite brew.

You can use or not use the optional water filter. Your choice.

The BEST part of this unit is it''s simplicity. Slide your selected beverage packet into the holder, close the lid, push a button and PRESTO, in 30 seconds you have a wonderful fresh brewed drink, then open the head and dispose of the empty packet. I can go from making a cup of Columbian Coffee, to Lemon Calm tea and then make a cup of Hot Chocolate Cappuccino and not have to "clean" out anything. There is no way to transfer flavors from one brew to the next. No drippy pods to fool with, no filters to trap flavors, no splash back, no post beverage dripping.

The Flavia Fusion is actually better than their SB100. Like the others said, you cant brew the two packets which makes their Cappuccinos and other "speciality" drinks, like Chai Latte, Milky Way Chococcino. Pumpkin Pie Latte, Irish Cream Mochaccino, Milky Way Latte and a fabulous Chococcino.

The unit is smaller than the Tassimo and some others, but you''ll still need some counter space. But, It''s well worth it.

The Maximum drink volume the packet can make is up to 7 oz.....which to some may look small. I''ve found that I can immediately "re-use" the same packet for a second brew cycle to double the volume of the coffee and tea drinks.

Flavia has 30 different beverages available, and some can be used together to create speciality drinks. They are also in the process of creating more products. Flavia is a division of Mars Inc.....the same people who make Milky Ways, Smickers, M&M''s and other confections. I wonder if they''ll come up with a Snickers Latte??? in the future.

As my Title says, I''m so happy I bought this unit. It''s a tea, coffee, hot chocolate, latte, espresso cappuccino machine all rolled into one, WITH NO MESSY CLEAN UP of the unit or your counter inbetween drinks. Just pop a new packet in and you''re good to go.

I hope Amazon.com will look into selling the drink packets.

For someone who likes variety, and doesnt want to have a half dozen machines laying around......take a hard look at the Flavia Fusion. You wont be disappointed.

They will sell to individuals, but the minimum order is a "case" (which is 100 packets of Coffee, 72 packets of Cocoa or 140 packets of Tea)...but the good news is they do offer a VARIETY CASE, which allows you to mix and match flavors to make a case of Coffee''s or a case of Teas.

I know a case sound like a lot, but once you get hooked on Flavia''s ease of use, you''ll find you''ll have that late evening cup of cocoa, decaf coffee or tea, or a second cup of Java in the morning. Prices per case start around $34.50 for the Coffee''s and $36.60 up to 58.50 for the teas. The cocoa is going for $29.95 a case. So, between Flavia''s web site and this vendor, and ebay, you should have no problems finding replacement packets.

Flavia machine still going strong. I use it at least 2-3 times a day. Have already had to re-order packets, like the Chai Tea, Cocoa, Froth packet and Breakfast Blend coffee. BFCOFFEE.COM is the best place for prices anywhere....even better than Flavia''s own site. I''m sipping a cup of Columbia coffee right now. Americans dont usually like a "strong" cup of coffee, so after the unit brews the packet the first time, I just re-push the light and let it brew again in the same mug. It comes out just the right strength for me. I would buy this unit again, without a second thought. It''s that good.

As the only person that drinks coffee in our home, I have used a one-cup coffee maker for over 20 years. I have tried them all, most recently the pod ones, but this one beats them all. It is so simple and quick. All you do is load a packet, hit a button, and voila, coffee that is comparable, if not better than that sold at coffee houses. In addition, the Fusion offers options to just coffee in the way of Tea, Hot Cocoa, and other "wellness" drinks.

The only drawback is that you are limited to puchasing the coffee packs from Flavia as there are no generic options available. None the less, their selection is superb and their prices are reasonable (about 40 cents per cup). I''m hooked.

I''ve been using a high-capacity flavia machine at work for many months before deciding to take my flavia experience home. There are more than 200 employees in my office, and they use the flavia machine like crazy. I myself have quite enjoyed the teas and the flavored coffee. I''m not a caffeine drinker, and happily there are some tasty flavors to choose from.

Let me cover the details that were falsely conveyed in the previous review.

1. POURING HEIGHT: The adjustable height does, in fact, accommodate a travel mug. You simply remove the drip tray, and, voila, your 16 oz. travel mug slides in with ease.

2. FLAVOR: The coffee does not taste horrible. My 200+ co-workers seem to agree with that statement, given their relentless use of the machine that, I might add, has yet to malfunction. In the end, everyone has different likes and dislikes about their coffee flavors and richness. Luckily, Flavia currently offers 16 coffee varieties, 4 tea varieties, 5 well-being (aka tea) varieties, 5 indulgence varieties (i.e. choco and chai tea,) and they also provide different mixes and flavorings. My husband is a coffee snob and he needs his coffee insanely strong. He found his desires met in the Sumatra blend. The handy strength meter on each packet has this blend at a 5+ factor. He loves it and drinks it in his travel mug every morning. The only thing that has not worked out flavor-wise for us is the creamy topping. It tastes like a very watery skim milk.

3. PACKAGING: There is no measuring. You just slide the packet in place, press the button and off to work. Using the travel mug, you''ll need to press the button twice once on the largest volume setting, and once on the smallest volume setting. It still takes less than a minute to brew. The one drawback of the packing and Flavia as a whole: you can only get the coffee/tea packets from Flavia and eBay. (Thus my four-star rating.) However, the cost savings between what you would buy at a coffee shop or even a bag at the local grocery store is felt immediately.

4. SHIPMENT: The machine''s packaging is not that cumbersome or painful to unpack. In fact, I had no trouble at all removing it from the box. After all, it is shipped for free from both Amazon and Flavia at the same price.

5. MACHINE SIZE: The machine''s dimensions are indeed accurate. Granted it was a little deeper than I had anticipated, but it still fits neatly on my counter top.

6. NOISE: The machine is slightly noisy, but, again, the brew time is ~30 seconds tops! Not to mention there are five different capacity settings, so you can have a little bit of coffee in ~15 seconds, or a lot of coffee in ~30 seconds.

7. CLEANUP: There will be splattering. You can not avoid that with any coffee maker. It is not excessive and requires light wiping probably once/week. That''s much better than having to clean a coffee pot and throw away filters with wet coffee grounds inside.

I would recommend this product to the coffee snob and caffeine hater. My husband and I are happy with it, and I love showing it to our guests everytime they come over. It''s a fun little addition to our kitchen, and I just love it.

Washing Machine Inline Water Filter

Purchased this item and right out of the bag its threads were stripped and would not fit onto the fittings. Made very cheap and not even worth the money they want. Some might be OK but I have talked with others that got the same and all of theirs were bad also. DO NOT BUY

I have read where the threads were bad; have not run into that problem. So, I''m happy with and use this filter highly recommended.

BUNN VPR-APS Pourover Airpot Coffee Brewer Save 41% Off

This coffee brewer works great, however I found the product manual was frustrating and I had to figure some things by trial and error... with several trials ending in error! The box also included a long spring thing that I still have not figured out what do do with?? Having said that, this coffee maker works great for making a lot of coffee in a quick amount of time, once you figure it out. Here is how it works (after you''ve done the initial prep/set-up which involves pre-filling the tank something you only do ONE time for the life of the machine) :

1. Turn on (actually plug it in, it has no on/off switch one of those things you have to learn the hard way)

2. Wait 20 minutes (it needs 20 minutes to get the tank water hot)

3. Put the coffee grains in the basket

4. Pour water in the top

5. Out comes coffee (almost simultaneously as you pour it in, if you are using a 24 cup air-pot... you''ll need to wait a few minutes to pour the second 12 cup pitcher included of water in, or the filter basket will over-flow, it only holds 12 cups!)

6. Fill as many air-pot s this way as you''d like, just as fast as you can replace filter & grounds and pour water in the top.

7. Unplug when finished

Pros:

Makes a lot of coffee (as much as you want) very fast once it is heated up.

Very easy to use once you figure it out.

Cons:

Terrible user manual

Needs 20 minutes lead time

Need to be careful if using a 24 cup Air-pot, can easily "overwhelm" the filter basket and cause a big mess (filter basket can only hold 12 cups at a time)

No on/off button

Must learn to use by trial and error

I''ve used Bunn''s for nearly 30 years. Their customer support and warranty has been impeccable. I even had the opportunity to stop by by the factory in Springfield,IL. and they refused to charge me for the parts I needed. Genuine Eureka DCF-21 Filter 68931 Save 49% Off

Great OEM factory filter that is the same as the one that comes with the vacuum when you buy the vacuum. Don''t bother to wash this filter as the user manual says you can. It will stink terribly because you can''t get all the lint and dirt out of it. I had to soak the plastic cannister parts in ammonia water to get the smell out after I washed the original filter, dried it, & vacuumed with it. YIKES! What a smell. Just toss it and get a new one every time.

This is the official filter for my vacuum. I made the (costly) mistake of buying an unofficial one at walmart and it didnt actually fit properly. This one does and works a lot more efficiently.

Two attempts to get the correct filter, genuine Eureka filter, have failed. I keep being sent the 3m Filtrate aftermarket filter. Not even the one pictured under the 3m filtrate listing. This aftermarket filter has extra feet and a piece of foam on the bottom that keep it from fitting correctly in the vacuum cleaner.

The first returns person was helpful. Tried to assure me if I ordered a sold by and fullfilled by Amazon I would receive the correct product. Vs the sold by vendor, but fullfilled by Amazon product I ordered the first time. The original order was just done by prime elligable products and the picture/ product name saying it was the correct filter. The second one I made sure was sold by and fullfilled by amazon. Recieved the same 3m filter, missing the 3m insert, but with a tiny printed tag that says eureka style, vs actually being a Eureka product. The second returns person just wants to pass the info off to technical. Didn''t seem to care this was the second time this happened.

I give up. Both are being sent back and I have to try to find the product locally.

Black & Decker 5-Cup Coffeemaker is an inexpensive & quick way to a delicious cup of coffee. The size of the pot is perfect for one person or two. So easy to use & easy clean up. Nice, clean lines. Great gift idea.

Note: when filling the water resovoir & pouring the coffee, it''s best to use the thumb tab to lift the carafe lid, otherwise the liquid tends to over flow the spout.

This appliance makes just the right amount of coffee for me with all its faults. The water guage is invisible unless you close the lid. If you close the lid how do you pour in the water? The overfill guide is two holes in the water compartment. If by accident, you overfill, you have water all over the counter. After the coffee is made, the entire appliance is dripping with condensation. The price is right but sure has lots of design problems.

This will be the THIRD one of this particular B&D model that I will be purchasing. OK, call me "insane" but I have liked the way it makes coffee and will just put up with its drawbacks which I wish B&D would fix:

(1) Without a Pause(to stop drips) it still can drip and any water/coffee that falls on the hot plate WILL corrode it over time. On my second one of this model I even covered the hot plate with foil at the outset to prevent the corrosion but over time (a year or little over) the foil corroded and, thus, the hot plate;

(2) On/Off button broke. On this second model, the On/Off button simply cracked and then fell off. I had to discard this coffeemaker due to the danger of electrical shock.

Other than that, I''ve been pleased with its size and the coffee it brews.

This is an update for my original review shown below. After having the pot several more months, I have noticed that the hot plate does get corroded from hot coffee dripping on it. Also, one other problem, which has also been mentioned by other reviewers is that pouring out the coffee can get messy it tends to drip and dribble unless you pour slowly and keep the lid raised while pouring. However, considering how much use I get out of it (at least three pots of coffee or hot water a day), I''m still happy with it and my original rating of four stars stands. If B & D can come up with a better, non-drip carafe and a hot plate that doesn''t corrode, they''d earn five stars from me.

The Black & Decker 5-cup coffeemaker is a good little basic pot for those times when you only need to make enough coffee for one or two people. I generally use a 16 oz. mug for my coffee and with this pot I get almost two mugs full. One of the other reviewers mentioned that the hot plate portion of their pot had corroded from the coffee dripping onto it. I haven''t had that problem but I''ve only had my pot for about three months. There are no bells and whistles with this machine no timers, automatic shutoff, etc. It''s just a good basic coffeemaker for people who don''t want to make a big pot of coffee when all they want is a cup or two.

I purchased these filters to replace much more expensive 5-micron string filters that I''ve been using. The inner diameter of the tube is larger than my old filters and I was worried at first that they would not fit into the filter housing and seal tightly enough to prevent bypass leakage around the ends. After 3-weeks however, there doesn''t seem to be any such leakage. It appears to be filtering particles from all of the water that passes through it. These filters are also slightly thicker than conventional string-wound filters. I don''t really know if they''ll last as long as my string-wound filters did (6-months) which is why I hesitate to give it a higher rating. It probably will but only time will tell.

Edit: I''ve now used one of the filters for 4-months with no problems. In fact, it seems to filter the water much better than the string 5-micron filters I was previously using. Much better water pressure too. I''ve upgraded them to 5-stars.

First off, I am absolutely pleased with the staying power this hook has had, which is mounted directly in my shower. It has been up for a few months now with no sign of losing its mount strength which is better than any suction cup product I''ve come across. That being said, the hook is rather thick which makes it workable but less than ideal for my intended purpose (hanging my squeegee, which hangs from a small round hole). The squeegee only goes part way down the hook and sticks out at a slight angle. It would work find for items on a loop like loofahs and whatnot, but I was sad that I couldn''t find any of these hooks that were narrower.

I must admit these hooks have changed my opinion of stick on utility products. I will likely use these in the future for more applications because they don''t damage the surface they are installed on (unless its weak paint or something compromised), come off cleanly in seconds and work very well.

The most notable feature these hooks have is the easy release/remove adhesive strip. I was amazed when I went to reposition (comes with extra strip in case you screw up like I did) the hook and was able to just remove the adhesive with zero problems. Each adhesive strip has a tab at the end. If you pull on this tab the adhesive strip seems to just flow away from the joint and it all comes apart cleanly. I had a couple old adhesive hooks on my bathroom door that broke due to abuse. I never tried to scrape off the adhesive strip because I figured the door would look even worse after I got done with it. I noted after installing the hooks I''m reviewing that indeed the old hooks were the same easy release command brand type. I pulled the tabs and they popped right off cleanly....... mind you this was a hook that was installed on a 50 year old dried out door and held very strongly (the plastic broke not the adhesive ultimately) for years. The older hooks were put on by the previous owner so the adhesive tab cleanly released after being installed 5 plus years.

I did carefully clean the surfaces with alcohol prior to installation.

I''ve used enough command hooks in my life, I actually follow the directions. I apply it, I let it sit, I do the whole thing. I followed those same instructions. I was hanging this on our bathroom door as a temporary hook until we could decide on a more permanent rack to put on the door. It fell down within 48 hours of me hanging the first item on it. It was a towel, a rather thin Kohls towel. Obviously I''m not satisfied. Clearly it wasn''t water-resistant enough to muscle through my steamy bathroom holding a thin towel.

Bought these to hang our washcloths on in the shower. Our shower walls are cultured marble and these stick extremely well; just like anything else 3M makes. Had them for about a year now, and with all the water and moisture they encounter daily, they look and hold as good as the day I opened the package and stuck them on. I love my Hoover carpet cleaner except that after using it 3 times the tank split apart at the bottom seam. It was very flimsy and cheaply made. Hoover customer service said I should have been more careful. I really don''t think it was anything I did. Well this replacement tank is so much better than the original. The plastic is thicker and NO SEAMS. I haven''t had any problems and no leaks at all. It fits just like the orignal tank but the design is slightly different. The tank locks into place better than the original tank. If you need a new tank because Hoover should have recalled the faulty one many of us have, then buy this tank and save some money and a lot of hassle.

I bought this because we borrowed a neighbors steam cleaner. While changing out the tanks one started to leak. My husband looked and realized that a spring had come off of the tank. Through investigation on the internet, I found out that this is a common problem with Hoovers. The replacement tank was very easy to put in place. It also is set up a little differently than the original tank. It just stinks that Hoover sells faulty products and didn''t do a recall or offer free replacements.

We have been using the Hoover carpet cleaner for years. After the first year we started having problems with the solution tank. Hoover knew a problem existed but was no help at all.I was hesitant in buying a hoover replacement tank just to have the same problem.

Like many others the tank that came with the cleaner soon wore out around the valves. The replacement looks much more solid and sturdy, but haven''t been able to use yet becasue... BE AWARE mine did not ship with the handle, which is necessary for operation. Pop the handle off your old one, or be sure to order a replacement as well.
