Clear2o CWS100AW Water Filtration Pitcher Save 15% Off

Clear2o CWS100AW Water Filtration PitcherI mainly bought this to filter water for making coffee and tea. The difference between water filtered by this pitcher and water straight from the tap is phenomenal. I admit it, I''m a coffee and tea geek. This is exactly what I needed. Friends and family have commented on how my coffee and tea taste much better than the one they make at home.

I looked at all the competitors such as Brita, PUR and about a dozen other less known brands that have solid reviews. Unfortunately most only filter to make water taste a little better and don''t filter for other impurities. Those that do are either really expensive or not available to me, in Canada. Fortunately I found this at a major retail chain.

I drink a lot of water so my pitcher has to filter taste and impurities. On top of this, the filters better last more than just a couple of weeks. I refill this pitcher at least once a day and so far I''m still on my first filter after nearly two months of use. Great!

A few things you should know if you intend to buy this:

This pitcher connects via a hose attachment to your faucet. You will have to put a small adapter (several sizes included in the package) to your faucet. When the pitcher is connected, open the tap SLOWLY. Your pitcher is made of plastic, not high gauge steel. If you subject it to high pressure, it will most certainly leak. Still it only takes 30-60 seconds to fill which is lightning quick compared to a Brita.

We purchased this water filter because the pitcher was to fill fast and the number of impurities it took out was provably more than any other commonly available pitcher system.

The unit definitely fills faster than Brita or PUR pitchers do. However, it makes a terrible, loud, higher-pitched gear grinding sound as it does so. It''s not bad enough to wear ear protection, but you will have problems understanding someone in the room until you stop. Fortunately, it is less than a minute before it is filled.

Filtered water definitely tastes "cleaner." However, this taste is not as desirable as water filtered from the Brita pitcher would taste. Where the Brita might make water taste more like crude Dasani, Clear2O makes the water taste more like distilled water. I guess that is the price you pay for having 44+ contaminants removed (NSF verified) to 95+% efficiency (most are 99.9%+). The solid block carbon filter does a great job of making water taste plain. Unfortunately, this does highlight why an ion-exchange system such as Brita''s can make more poorly filtered water taste better. For us, we''ve finally adjusted to the "cleaner" taste.

As for function, our pitcher came with a permanent leak and small slits that cause water to go back into the pitcher after being filtered, in a way that can allow contamination from the area under the lid to drip into the reservoir. Basically, water comes in from the tap and is injected into the area to which one side of the carbon is exposed. The water passes through the solid carbon, then flows up the filter and out through the filter''s plastic canal, which meets with an open area with which the water then flows back down into the "cleaned" water area. However, the mating area where filtered water meets the pitcher (in the top handle of the filter itself) cannot fully seal. When we open the lid while filtering, visible water currents form at that area and this water drips down into clean water through small fissures. We''ve tested it with just pouring water into that general area, and the water quickly goes unfiltered into the pitcher, even with the filter seemingly blocking such access.

This was only something I tracked down once I started seeing occasional translucent floaters wafting around in the pitcher water when held up to the light. Whether the "floaters" are bacterial films, thin plastic or something else, I do not know. (I seem to guarantee their existence when refilling the pitcher when it is still half full, doing so for about a week, leaving the pitcher at room temperature.)

Clear2O appears to do a solid job of removing contaminants, but it appears to allow recontamination to a small extent. If this does not bother you for your application, this pitcher is for you.

UPDATE: The Clear2O website suggests cleaning the unit with vinegar, which would kill some bacteria. In my estimation, the floaters appear to be a harmless bacterial film that settles on the bottom of the pitcher after a while. Shaking the pitcher disturbs this film, creating the floaters noticed.

I''ve noticed cleaning the pitcher every so often with vinegar assures the floaters won''t appear.

The Clear2O pitcher offers one key advantage over the Brita pitches it''s fast! Rather than pour water into the pitcher and wait for it to pass through the filter, the Clear2O comes with a hose that you attach to your faucet that allows it to fill much quicker (I''d estimate about 30 seconds).

Installation is straightforward. You have to remove the aerator from the faucet and replace it with an adapter that comes with the pitcher. The hose (which is attached to the pitcher) then clicks onto the adapter. They provide two different screw-in adapters so it will work with pretty much any faucet. Also include the washers so you have everything needed.

The hose clicks on tightly with a positive locking mechanism to prevent leaks or having the hose blow off from the water pressure. But, this introduces a problem since you have to remove the aerator, the faucet flow rate may increase, potentially increasing water use (many aeriators also function as a flow restrictor to conserve water). Now, the adapter includes an aeriator so there is some flow restriction but, on my faucet, the flow rate went up since my old aeriator had a lower flow rate.

Plus, the adapter is not what you''d call sleek-looking. It extends about 1.5 inches from the end of the faucet and is chrome colored. No, it''s not horrible looking, but if you''re particular about how your faucet looks you may not be happy with this.

A better approach would be to have a diverter valve that you screw into the faucet. But, that would raise the cost.

My other quibble is that the hose is rather short. Depending on your faucet and sink style, you may have to contort a bit to get everything hooked up.

The filters are rated for more gallons than the Brita filters. But, unlike the Brita filters which you can get faily cheap in bulk at warehouse clubs, these filters are not widly avaialble, which keeps the price up.

Bottom line if you get annoyed at the slow speed of filtering water in a Brita pitcher, this is well worth a look. There are some downsides, however, making this an average value (probably 3.5 stars is more accurate, but I''ll round down to 3).

I was interested in buying this product also because of the Consumer Reports recommendation, but thanks to other Amazon reviewers, I was concerned about the lack of NSF Certification. I called Applica/Clear 2O & was informed that they''re no longer producing filters for this product, so they didn''t renew their certification. In other words, when existing stock runs out, there will be no more replacement filters available.

First, If you happen to check some of my recent reviews you may see a bunch of 5 star reviews. Believe me I''m hyper critical of items I buy, BUT "I research these items to death" and luckily most of the time I get the best one...at least for me. So now to the review.

I have been using Pur Filter Pitchers for years. Water always tasted great from Pur, BUT they ALWAYS clogged BADLY after minimal use. My latest Pur Pitcher after about 5 weeks of use would take almost 3 hours for the water to finally fully filter thru..that''s nuts! This time I checked Consumer Reports..and found this Clear2o rated #2 by a point or 2 next to a $100-ish pitcher. Pur and Brita were at least 30-40 points DOWN from THIS Clear2o. Turns out Consumer Reports seems to have gotten this one right. WOW, after about 60 seconds..you have great tasting water totally filtered and ready to use, I think NINE cups!. As the Clear2o uses pressure from your faucet..even at the end of the filter''s life span you can still expect a full pitcher of filtered water in 60 seconds or less. Compare THAT to 3 or more hours on a Pur. The filter has an indicator of green, orange, and red, so you will KNOW when it''s time to change the filer, no more guessing!

Consumer reports also says the Clear2o filters yearly cost are about 1/2 of Pur...not sure about Brita. The Clear2o most importantly supposedly is a BETTER filter than Pur and Brita as to what it will filter out. So you get super fast filtering that is superior to Brita and Pur and it will never slow down till you replace the filter.

My only criticism is the tube that attaches to he faucet is a bit short and not so soft as others mentioned. My first time attaching it, the pitcher tipped over, actually twice. But after a couple tries you get used to how to connect the tube...and I have to say it''s actually fun to fill this thing! :) One other thing that you may or may not like..the spout on the Clear2o is rather wide..so water comes out FAST. Once you know this, it''s fine..but you have to be a little more careful when pouring from this pitcher if you don''t want to overfill your glass..etc.

All in all I am REALLY impressed with this Filtering system. Worst part is trying to FIND it in stores. I finally found mine in a Walmart..was about $11 on sale..a 3 pac of filters were $25 there.

This company Applica? Seems to be involved with some huge companies such as Black and Decker so I feel rather confident they will be around a long time, and hopefully the filters, pitchers, will be easier to find locally..even on Amazon.

I think you are going to LOVE this thing!!

Cuno Replacement Cartridges B Series Cuno Model B3 Filter Cart. .2 Mic

Cuno Replacement Cartridges B Series Cuno Model B3 Filter Cart. .2 MicI am using the 3M Cuno M2P Dual Cartridge setup, with two B3 filters. They work in parallel so as to provide greater flow, as opposed to a single unit. I am using this in a vacation home located on an island with a cistern, which is against the manufactures recommendations. It is intended for Marine and RV applications and is not recommended for Residential Use, so I am breaking the rules.

A single B3 setup is rated at 3.5GPM and a 15,000 gallon life expectancy. In a dual configuration they are rated at 16GPM which is a four fold increase flow capacity, and of course double the life at 30,000 Gallons. 3M also offers the smaller B2 cartridge rated at 2.5GPM and 7500 Gallons.

I have my house plumbed to supply all but toilets and outside faucets from this filter setup. I''m considering dropping the washing machine from that and supplying it with only cold primary sediment filtered water since the climate is very warm. This would remove some load on the filters, possibly as much as 3000 to 5000 gallons per year.

I am also using a GE Whole House Filter Housing with an FXWTC sediment filter upstream of the B3''s in hopes of further reducing the burden. This filter also has Carbon for odor and taste. I might change to a spiral wound filter for fear that carbon particles from the FXWTC are plugging the B3''s. I will dissect one to examine it for particles.

In conclusion I don''t feel I am getting the life expectancy I had hoped and they are expensive to replace. Though they do need replacing sooner that expected I will continue to use it, it''s just too valuable not to. I''m budgeting about $250 per 9 months of use. I can probably stretch this to a full year if as I indicated above I bypass the washing machine.

Or have a tub under it at all time do to leaks that happens with water filters do to cheap plastic parts. Speaking of which, I have tried several time to stop leaks from the two soft plastic 90 deg fitting. This is the kind of thing I do for a living so rest assure I tried every trick I had to stop the leaks. The fix will be the replacement fitting I ordered.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FN80A4/ref=oh_details_o01_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The metal bracket that you can see that holds all together is very flimsy. When you bump the unit the bracket flexes and bobbles around. This should be about 3 times thicker steel to be allowed on the market. The 1/4" hose provided is a very short peace of scrap hose. I needed to buy more hose along with copper pipe and fitting and a brass bushing...about $50 more. Then do some cutting and soldering of pipes to supply water.

ALL these problems are typical with most systems on the market. All we can do is deal with it and make it better/usable. Otherwise you will need to get a high end commercial or marine grade system. Then again they probably have quirks of there own too.

Honeywell QuietClean Tower Air Purifier with Permanent Filter Save 30% Off

Honeywell QuietClean Tower Air Purifier with Permanent Filter, HFD-110I reviewed dozens of air purifiers in the search for the best, low-price one with a HEPA filter that did not use Ionizing technology (which appears to be especially risky for people with asthma). I purchased the Honeywell HFD-110 Quietclean Tower thinking I had found the perfect match...

...that is until the package arrived and the fine print on the box said that this was a "HEPA-Type" filter (ie. NOT a HEPA filter, which means not certified to the high standard of a HEPA filter). When you look at the filter up close it looks nothing like the HEPA filters I have seen (not dense at all, quite the opposite).

To make matters worse the HFD-110 IS an Ionizing air purifier (and you cannot turn this feature off), contrary to the Manufacturer''s Description which would have you believe otherwise, "Compared to ionic air purifiers, the filter from the HFD-110 captures 12 times more pollutants..."

Look, I think this would otherwise be a decent Ionizing, Generic-Filter Air Purifier if it was presented honestly in the manufacturer''s description.

Considering that I was COMPLETELY MISLEAD into buying exactly what I did not want, I will think twice before ever buying a Honeywell product again!

My bf and I bought this air filter specifically for the fact we both have asthma and wanted a nice air filter that not only cleaned the air, but would not create ozone. No where in the reviews did it say that it was an ionizer so we bought it. We had it on for one night, it did a great job cleaning the air and was quiet but when I went to go break down the packaging, I noticed teeny tiny print on the bottom of the box that said: warning: includes ionizer that produces ozone. do not use if you have asthma.

We were both quite upset that we didn''t see this warning on Amazon before we bought it. Had to return it! False advertising!

This is an excellent air purifier. It can also be used as a fan, which I use it to sleep at night. It is very quiet except on high setting. But what fan isn''t noisy on the high setting? I cleaned the filter by running water through it under the sink. It had a collected a nice bit of dust that would have otherwise entered my lungs.

We bought this machine because we have a cat and my boyfriend is allergic to cats. Our place is small-medium sized apartment in a highrise so this machine is kinda perfect for us. THough we have 2 main rooms, living and bedroom. it works great in both rooms but once in a while we have to move the machine from room to room, but maybe also because of the floor plan layout of the apartment.

This thing is big!..like about almost 3'' tall i think. My boyfriend''s allergies now got much better than before we bought it, he said. its easy to operate and move around ( theres a grip handle on top so you can grap, lift and move it around.)The filter is easy to clean-vacuum cleaning, it seems as though the filter cleaning time indicator button doesnt work.. but its easy to check, just pull the filter up and look.

Overall, I think this product is a 4. Not bad, works great for the price, but if you can pay more than $150, I believe there s a more expensive but better one out there.

I have had this air purifier for a few months now and find it to be useful and very quiet even on its highest setting. Much quieter than my old Bionnaire which it replaced. I mainly went with this model because you don''t have to buy filters for it. On my Bionnaire, I could not longer find filters for it or they were ridiculously expensive. You end up paying for the unit over and over and over again with the replacement filters. I love my Honeywell!

There is not much on a humidifier that would cause it to break. Bad circuit or the solenoid...this fixed it right up. Our problem was that the solenoid was stuck open and water was constantly running through it and not just when the heating unit was running like it should have. Our water bill was very high because of the broken solenoid.

Koolscapes Crystal Flo

Koolscapes Crystal FloI received the item on time however it was used. When the FEDEX driver gave me the package I saw the box looked worn and previously opened. That was not a problem for me. I opened the package and saw the unit was used because it had traces of dried alge on it. I decided to keep the item because I needed to remove alge bloom in my pond and my previous UV unit stopped working. I also noticed the fountain head is cracked and water is leaking on the side. I decided to keep the unit anyway but please, please, please, if you are selling used equipment make mention of it in the listing.

We have went through several pumps in past few years and this one seems pretty good for the money. It has a continious flow and has not clogged up with Alge yet (which has been a problem in the past). Not to mention that the fountain head actually workes well in my small Koi poind.

Don''t believe the naysayer reviews here. This is a great product that works when you don''t want to use a bleach based product on mildew. I live in a convergence zone in the Great NW where if you stand still long enough, you will find moss growing on your north (east, south, and west) sides, so you need a mildew remover as a matter of course.

I have an ''85 camry that has to be parked outside. One fall I didn''t drive it for a few weeks and when I finally got around to it, I found that there was mold growing all over the interior carpet, seats, etc. A treatment with Amazing Stainaway killed all the mold and restored the interior of the car to its non mildewed state, and I''m still using the car today.

It is also useful for use on my house siding when I get a green moss/mold on the surface. I''ve given a bottle to my son to use in his basement when a wall leak soaked his rugs.

One caution the mist from the sprayer is very irritating so use in a well ventilated place or take other precautions. Bottom line, use bleach based products in the tub and showers, but use this one most everywhere else.

Delonghi BCO264B Cafe Nero Combo Coffee and Espresso Maker Save 52% Off

Delonghi BCO264B Cafe Nero Combo Coffee and Espresso MakerI am an avid coffee drinker, somewhere between 2-4 pots a day. My husband bought this 3-in-1 coffee maker for me for the Christmas of 2004. It has a digital clock/timer, flavor strength switch and makes pretty good coffee. It worked great for a while.

However, after about a year and a half the coffee maker side stopped working, without any warning. I went to get a cup of coffee and the hotplate was cold. After emptying it, cleaning it out and setting it up again, I turned it back on to make another pot.

The hotplate didn''t even get warm, and the brewer didn''t even make a noise or pull a single drop into the carafe. Even though the espresso and steamer side still works wonders, for the price of this 3-in-1, you would think it would work a bit longer than it has.

I had originally purchased the Krups version of their fanciest dual machine and it arrived non-functional with a display and buttons that were a little too "Star Trek" for me anyway...in fact, they didn''t function at all. The Delonghi Caffe Nero (so far) has been very straighforward, easy to use, and produces good coffee and espresso. The quality of the coffee is moderate-high and I''m impressed with its strength selection system (a simple knob) and the mechanism by which it brews. No bells or whistles to confuse me. I did think initially that the permanent filter might be difficult to clean but not so far. However, the heat resistant coffee pot has an interesting design and a strange top which snaps on somewhat awkwardly and appears vulnerable to breaking but otherwise I have not found any major flaws with this machine as of yet.

Good coffee, good espresso, easy to use, easy to program for the next day. We''ll see...

I thought I did enough research before buying this machine but apparently not enough. I was disappointed in 1. the design ( looks rather cheap) and 2. the performance. So much about being flexible about having an espresso! If you really enjoy good coffee you need to invest more, unfortunately.

On the outside, this is a beautiful machine. Unfortunately, the mechanics don''t match. 6 months after my wife and I purchased it, the hinge on the back cover broke. I contacted Delonghi to see if it was covered under the warranty. Of course it was not and I had to purchase a new one. Then, after having it for just over a year, the coffee maker quit completely. I had to take it to one of their authorized repair facilities to get it fixed. I have been without the coffee maker for 1 month now and they still don''t know when they will get the parts from Delonghi. I do not drink coffee and my wife drinks maybe 1/2 cup a day. My wife owned a Mr. Coffee that lasted more than 10 years. You would think that with the price of this machine it would have lasted much longer. My recommendation to you is to save your money and buy a Mr. Coffee!

Although their coffeemakers do an excellent job of making coffee, DeLonghi WILL USE ANY EXCUSE NOT TO HONOR THE WARRANTY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG! Here''s my experience: When I ordered my coffeemaker from DeLonghi, it was "backordered" and took over a month to ship. A little over 10 months after I received it, the coffeemaker broke! (The heater coil went out and

it would no longer make coffee.) Since it had been over a year since I ORDERED it, they said the one-year warranty was expired, despite the fact I had proof I had received it less than a year before (I still had the shipping confirmation). I explained this numerous times. For a couple of months, the various people I talked to kept telling me they would "look into it", but they never called back. Finally, when it actually WAS over a year since I had received the coffeemaker, when I called to check on the status of my warranty claim, they said, "Your warranty has expired. You''ve had this coffeemaker over one year. There is nothing we can do." I highly recommend you find a coffeemaker from a manufacturer that stands behind their product! I have a Cuisinart now, and it is WONDERFUL!

BISSELL 32-Oz. 2X Ultra-Concentrated Pet Stain and Odor Formula 74R7 Portable MachineWe have only used this concentrated solution with our Bissell Spotbot Pet. Since the formula container for the Spotbot has markings on the side that tell how much formula to add, and we didn''t know a non-concentrated formula had ever been available, we were using twice as much (or more) formula as was needed. This meant we ran out of formula quite quickly! I just finally read the back of the bottle (duh!) and found that you''re supposed to add two capfuls to the container and fill with hot water up to the formula line. Oops!

So, if you use the concentrated formula, be sure you read the instructions first! While the formula works well, it has a very strong (though pleasant) odor, which might give a sensitive person an allergic reaction. I''d recommend using this product with the windows open for your first time in case that happens to you.

Not sure if the 2x concentrate has Scotchguard like the non-concentrated, but carpet stays clean after numerous vacuuming. Used to cost 11.99 at Amazon for this 32 oz. bottle. Can buy the non-concentrated 128 oz. bottle at Walmart for 19.99.

Very good product but Target has the 32 oz. bottle for $9.99 and you don''t have to pay shipping. I have 3 cats, one of which is old and has bad kidneys, and having the Pet SpotBot and cleaner are a lifesaver. So easy to use, esp. for small spots.

This seemed to remove dog urine smell, and works just as well as the non-concentrated formula.

This is a new "2x" concentrate of the Bissell pet stain formula. It works as it should, which is excellent! You won''t find a better product combination for cleaning pet stains than a Bissell Spotbot fueled by Bissell Pet Stain formula.

That said, the 2x cencentrate costs the same as THREE bottles of the old formula. This is an outrageous increase in price.

Jiffy Steamer Liquid Cleaner (3 Pack) Save 9% Off

Jiffy Steamer Liquid CleanerI have the Jiffy Travel Steamer, the Esteam machine. I had quite a bit of buildup on the bottom of the steamer. I tried vinegar/water over night. It loosened up some of it, but not much at all. I then bought some of this stuff. I checked after one hour and shook the steamer around with the solution inside to see if any of the calcium has come loose, but nothing. I then looked again after 2 hours. I finally started to see the calcium floating in the solution. They recommend emptying it after 2 hours, but I let it sit over night. If I emptied it after 2 hours, I would still have a lot of calcium buildup on the bottom. So leaving it sit overnight is a good idea. I uploaded before and after pictures of the steamer so you can see my results. I would have given it 5 stars, but it didn''t get rid of it all, but about 90% of it which is fine with me. I think I will use distilled water in the future so as not to get this calcium buildup any more, at least when I use it at home. Buying a gallon of distilled water every now and then will be quite a bit cheaper than buying this solution every few months. Besides, I mostly use it at home anyway and When I do travel, I will just use tap water and try and dry it best I can afterwards. So if you have the buildup, I can honestly say that it does work!

My mom has the old J-200 steamer, which gradually accumulated some buildup to the point that NOTHING was coming out of the hose. The hose was getting warm, but no steam.

I scoured the internet and tried the cheapest method I saw which was to use a mix of vinegar and water. I let that sit in the steamer for at least a week, with absolutely no results.

While trying to find an authorized service dealer, I ran across one in North Hollywood who walked me through some steps that I could try, and also suggested using this branded liquid cleaner which he mentioned would probably work a lot better than vinegar since it contained acid. I put in only about 1/4th of the bottle and let it sit overnight. The next morning, after rocking the liquid inside the unit back and forth, I noticed the clear liquid had turned into a deep brown hue, with a few chunks of sediment. Flushed it out with water, re-attached the hose, and plugged it in. A few seconds later, the familiar throaty gurgle roared into life and out came a puff of thick white steam.

This stuff works, people. Well, it did for me, and now I don''t have to look like I crawled out of the dryer with my wrinkly shirts. :)

Tried baking soda, and scrubbing with no luck. Bought the steamer liquid and after heating the device, emptying it and leaving the liquid in for about 5 hours, it was good as new. I have the Jiffy Esteam handheld steamer and absolutely love it for everyday use so it was good to bring it back to full working condition. (I only received one bottle of cleaner, not a 3 pack.)

This cleaner works great to get the deposits off of the element in the steamer.

I waited a little too long the last time between treatments and the element was completely white with a pretty thick covering of deposits. I tried leaving the solution in two hours and that barely did anything. I left it over night the second time and in the morning the deposits flaked right off.

You can very lightly prod the element with a long object after it has been soaking awhile. If the deposits are stuck fast then let it sit a few more hours until it only takes a gentle prod for the white deposits to come off. You can then empty and a few good rinses should suffice to remove the residue of deposits. Note: You should not try and scrape the element clean. If you have to do this then it has not soaked long enough.

Instructions are easy to follow. I recommend it.

This is a very simple always ready (not always on) tds meter. I had an old RO system and this showed me it was only dropping the TDS by 90-100 ppm (e.g. 300 ppm in, 200 ppm-210ppm out) while the "hard" water at my parents'' house 5 miles away was 100 ppm! The result was a purchase of a new RO system with some enhanced features.

What broke was the ability to switch from IN (feedwater) to OUT (RO water) without powering off and back on. For the first month you could slide the switch from in to out and the display would change. Later that quit and it became necessary to power it off and back on.

Still at the pricepoint its a good value a good design (the probes mimic 1/4" tubing and it uses off the shelf T connectors to ensure leak free joints). Its accurate compared to my more expensive TDS meter and will now allow me to keep an eye on the RO system.

BTW new RO system has 300 ppm feedwater from the city well system (and clear filter housings so you can see all the junk being trapped in the first 2 days) it''s getting the same 300 ppm IN and yielding 15 ppm 16 ppm out which is the best i''ve seen. Most RO water systems do good at 40 out so I was impressed with 15-16 ppm.

Without the DL-1 you''d never know when to change filters etc. It''s worth buying and the power on/off is no big deal since it times out anyways. If I bought one again I''d get the DL-2 which amazon doesn''t sell now.

FYI the system I finally chose to buy was the 100 GPD Reverse Osmosis 6 Stage Permeate Pump & UV sterilizer

Great product wasnt sure if I needed to replace my filters for my RODI unit. So instead of just spending 40 bucks on filters I bought this for under 30 dollars and was reading 0 on output and 180 in input. So I saved money not buying filters that I didnt need yet and no more wondering what the water reading is

There is no reason not to give this product the highest rating. The price was right, it does exactly what it is supposed to do and it is easy to install. The meter is simple to install; I have mine mounted with clamps right onto the side of the RO gland. Simply push the button for power and select, back and forth if you wish, the input water TDS or the output water reading. The display is easy to read and it turns off by itself. I personally like to stay in the habit of manually turning off equipment when not needed. I checked it with a professional meter and the readings were identical. It is so convenient to use, allowing frequent checks that will keep the water quality up. Don''t be surprised, it is smaller than one would expect, but not a problem, its still easy to read from an arms length.

Airpura Industries R600 Air Purifier 18lbs of Activated Carbon removes 60 of its weight in chemicals gases Save 23% Off

Airpura Industries R600 Air Purifier 18lbs of Activated Carbon removes 60 of its weight in chemicals gasesI''d give the Airpura R600 a 4.5 star rating if I was permitted to use fractional values. At a list price of $600 the Airpura R600 competes in the premium air purifier market with competitors such as IQair, Blueair, Airgle, and a few other manufacturers. The R600 employs three filters: a prefilter than lasts ~1 year and costs ~$35 for a pack of 2, a high grade HEPA filter that lists for $170 and lasts for ~5 years, and an 18 lb activated carbon filter that lists for $200 and lasts ~2 years. At list prices, the cost of filters averages $151.50/ year, but the carbon filter is refillable which allows those willing to go through extra effort to shave a bit off the cost (18 lbs of activated carbon will run in the ballpark of $120). This makes the operating costs of the R600 pretty reasonable compared to its competition; for example, a Blueair 650E has filter costs of $300/year (if using the smokestop filters). Moreover, the included filters, except for the cheap prefilter, will not need replacing for 2 years making the initial purchase price quite reasonable; by comparison, the Blueair filters only last 6 months. The R600 is designed to be a workhorse and has few bells and whistles: it has no remote, no sensors, no automation, no way to monitor filter age, etc.; however, many users will not miss these features. Although it lacks some frills found in other products, this is a solid well-designed machine, with an all metal case and a powerful motor. It does have a continuous dial to adjust the fan speed whereas most competing products only feature 3 or 4 discrete speed settings. 3 casters allow the machine to be easily moved from room to room. At the lowest speed the unit has a noise level of 28 dB when measured at six feet; this is relatively quiet but not "whisper" quiet and it would not make a good choice for a bedroom unit for someone very sensitive to noise. Six feet seems like a large distance to measuring sound levels at; by comparison Blueair reports sound levels at 1 meter, nearly half the distance Airpura uses. Using standard laws for the damping of sound with distance, 28 dB at 6 feet would correspond to 33 dB at 1 meter. When compared to comparably sized air purifiers the R600 is among the quietest and for daytime use the low setting (or even an intermediate setting) will not be at all distracting. On the high setting the noise level is 62 dB, which is very loud, but this would be true of any air purifier putting out 440 cfm of air. Energy usage is reasonable for a unit of this size, ranging from 40 W on low to 120 W on the highest setting. If you are in the market for a high quality air purifier suitable for large rooms, the R600 will meet your needs and do so with very reasonable operating costs. I would have preferred the inclusion of some air quality sensors, even if this raised the price, but was convinced to purchase it anyway due to the excellent filtration capabilities and the low yearly filter costs.

Works great, really scrubs the air nicely. Has a nice solid hum. Needs to be on medium to really start pushing some air. Seriously fresh air.

The Airpura R600 Air Purifier was purchased to remove cigar odor from the house when I entertain. I was looking for something that would sweep the air and remove the smell. It is good looking, but very loud. I had to turn up the volume of the television in order to hear the show. The noise is quite offensive. I thought that it would be quiet, no where in the product description did it give decibel levels or mention how loud it would be. As far as removing the smell of my cigars, I think it fails miserably. The room still smells of cigars the next day, you notice it as soon as you enter the house. I have followed the directons and have the machine running 24 hours a day as stated for maximum effectiveness.

Austin Air Pre-Filter for HM-400 Save 14% Off

Austin Air Pre-Filter for HM-400, Allergy MachineThis is the best price I''ve found anywhere for what is admittedly a very expensive filter. I recommend calling Austin to make sure you are purchasing exactly what you want and need. when I did, I realized that my old filter had been the one that just filters out chemical and other odors, and now I''ve bought the one to deal with allergic particles (which also deals with odors). It works! It makes such a difference. Expensive, and loud, but my husband can now sleep at night and that is worth it.

This is a great filter. We have a Health Mate in every room. Have been having them for the past 15 years. Just change the filters and ready to go again.
