Excellent wrench. Expensive, but worth it for a tool that will never break. Also its made in USA.The long handle made changing filter very easy compared with wrench that came with my filter (before I broke that plastic wrench).Inside diameter is just under six inches. For filters with 4.5 x 10 inch cartridges, A.K.A. HD950 or Big Blue.
My housing is GE but all brands use standard sizes, this wrench should fit all HD950 housings.
I know it is confusing to try and match filter parts, I hope this info saves you some trouble.

I can not say enough about this product. When used with the premist soil release spray, it will clean any stain I have ever had. I have two cats and one dog, but cleaning stains is never a worry. I have been using "Capture Dry carpet cleaner" for years on my rental property and was getting pretty good results. Just spent and hour applying and working in "Capture" to some really bad spots which lightened them by 40%. Decided to try a can of "409 carpet foam cleaner". It took less than 10 min to apply and work in the same spots ... and at a fraction of the cost.Wow ... I was shocked at the great results ... and it was so easy to apply.
In Summary: Capture is far more expensive compared to 409 carpet foam, takes a lot of effort to work into the carpet and does not work as well.

The results of this product are directly correlated to the amount of intellect and elbow-grease that the user puts into the job. Given other reviews we have read some seem to expect to just be able to dust the stain with the powder, count to three, run a vacuum over it, and have the stain magically vanish.Instead, set aside time to do the job right. Get the pretreatment mist (Capture Soil Release Pre Mist 24oz) and spray it liberally on the stain, let it soak, even use a brush to work it in a bit, and do it again if a bad stain. THEN use the powder and a brush to work it in a bit, and then GIVE IT TIME to work... maybe an hour or so... and then vacuum it up. We had one stain (copier toner spilled on a berber rug) that we let sit overnight and this stuff worked!
Bad stains might require a couple goes at it, but I can tell you that even red wine on a white carpet was no match for this stuff.
Seriously. The smarter and more aggressive your effort, the better your results will be. If you are willing to give it a good try, we recommend this stuff highly.

I have previously used the Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner to clean the inevitable stains associated with cats and potty training little boys from my Berber carpet. A friend has that cleaner, so I borrowed it on several occasions before finally deciding to get one of my own. Just before I was ready to buy, Good Housekeeping ran a review on the Hoover SteamVac so I looked it up on Amazon. I read the reviews and decided to take my chances with it.I am amazed at the difference in the two machines. The Bissell used to shear off fibers from the carpet and leave a nasty trail of what looks like hairballs behind as I worked. The clean and dirty tanks are in the same unit which is clever, but almost impossible to clean.
The Hoover has two tanks one for clean hot water with a compartment for the cleaning solution, and one for the dirty water. Both water tanks hold a gallon. I had no problems loading the clean tank or removing the dirty tank. No dripping of dirty water, no puddles on the rug or the kitchen floor when changing tanks.
Like I said before, I''ve cleaned my entire house several times with the Bissell machine, but I was amazed at the almost muddy water that came out of the carpet. It was as if I''d never cleaned the floors before. The dirty tank is easy to rinse out and reattach. The trick is to "recline" the machine so the clean tank is laying on the ground attached to the handle. Unsnap the clips and the dirty tank comes right off with no problem at all. Clean it out, snap the lid back on and clip it back into place and then you can stand the handle back up and deal with the clean tank.
The suction on this machine is amazing. It used to take hours and hours for the carpet to dry when I used the Bissell. I''d have to turn the fans on high and let them go overnight to have dry carpets in the morning. Two hours after cleaning the carpet (2 cleaning/rinse passes plus a rinsing only pass) and the floors were nearly dry.
I tested the Hoover on my kitchen tile. I hate ceramic tile. I will never have it in another house, but I''m stuck with it for now. I usually use the Vapor Clean II steam/pressure cleaner on the tile, but decided to give the Hoover a try since it came with the cleaning solution for the job. I wouldn''t want to use it every time I clean the kitchen floor, but for a quick cleaning before company comes it''ll do the trick. Again, I did not have any puddle problems. If you release the trigger just before you finish your pull stroke you won''t have any puddling to speak of. The Hoover does a great job sucking up the water on the tile and even gets the water from the grout. It doesn''t do a great job on grout because that''s not what it''s designed to do. I''ll stick to my VaporClean and the special brush I have for that.
I''m also happy with the amount of cleaner used. The Bissell goes through cleaning solution at a much faster rate than the Hoover does. I like that, since leaving soap on the fibers is just going to make the floor get dirty faster.
The only things I''m not thrilled with:
The cleaning solution dispenser is integrated with the clean water tank. I wish it came with a spout or something attached so that pouring out leftover solution wasn''t so messy. I know I could leave the solution in there between uses, but I have already had to pour out leftover carpet solution to switch to the hard surface cleaner then I had to put the hard surface cleaner back in the bottle to switch back for more carpet work. Some sort of retractable spout or a reversable plug with a spout attached would be great.
The hose attachment is kind of flimsy. I''ve had the whole hose assembly fall off several times as I was changing tanks. It''s not a huge deal, but it''s annoying to the point that I''m considering taking that part off and storing it separately until I need to use the hand tools.

I still love this machine. I don''t consider the drips that come from laying the handle down to be a problem. It''s how the unit was designed. It''s certainly not a return-worthy concern. I am capable of placing a towel on the floor to wipe up the drips from that, and it''s never more than a few drips. And it''s clean water, so who cares?
It still works great for me with no problems at all since I got it in 2007. I quit buying the detergent that goes with it and only use vinegar in the detergent tank now with no problems.
As far as the performance on carpet, it''s still great. I shampooed the white carpet at my grandparents'' house recently and they were mortified by how much black water came out of the machine. They''ve had their home professionally shampooed within the last year, too. Their carpet came clean and looked fantastic when I left.
I haven''t used it on my carpet upstairs lately because I don''t allow food up there, so there''s not much need for more than regular vacuuming. I do use this machine more frequently on my kitchen tile than I thought I would, and I''m still happy with it. It gets the job done quickly, and the floor is dry when I''m done. It''s loud, but not so loud that I don''t want to use it.
Maybe they''ve changed things with the model since 2007, but my unit is still going strong. There may be better tools for the job out there, but until this one breaks I''m happy with what I''ve got. I''m not crazy, just satisfied. I''m not sure why that''s so difficult to believe.
Of all the reviews i have read, the one that i felt had any true meaningful information was a gentleman that was an engineer that said that the plastic on the tank was too brittle. Armed with this information, i did go to my local Hoover store to see what they had in stock. I was ready to purchase another spinscub or to have mine repaired.
I purchased the All-terrain steamvac after talking to the rep. She did not dispute that the tanks plastic is more brittle and should be able to withstand a little more abuse, however, she also said that all of the people that have come into the store to have the tanks replaced, have abused it in some way. The plastic is not made for EXTREMELY hot water, so if your tap water is extremely hot, then fill the tank with some cooler water. the hotter temp. will crack the tank. She said her hot water heater is set so high that when you run only hot water it is too hot to touch. and she mixes her water with cold to get the temp. right. The other scenerio she explained is people dropping the tank when it is full of water. In all the years i can''t remember ever dropping the tank so i wasn''t concerned about that. And the last scenerio she explained that one woman had her teenager using the machine and had shoved the tank into place and it cracked somehow.
i tried replacing the tank myself in the store and it seemed pretty simple. so i bought it.
i have only had it for a few days but have already cleaned with it. and i love it.something must be wrong with the other reviewer''s machine because i filled mine with 16oz. of cleaner and have cleaned my formal living room, formal dining, family room, guest room, stairs and basement , probably close to 1500sq. ft. and still have over half of the solution in it.
The new design is much better than the spinscrub. The hose for the hand attachments attaches in the front so it won''t crack at the base like in the older models. I like that the cleaning solution is in a separate container so when you run out of clean water or the clean water gets cold, you can just refill the water side without having to waste cleaning solution or needing to measure out solution every time you need to fill the tank.
The rinse button is nice when you''ve sprayed down a stain in the carpet and it gets too soapy, then just flip the button and it only dispenses water.
The people I talked to at the hoover store say that most of the repairs with the valves involve the solution that is used. Oxy-clean eats at the rubber and then they don''t seal properly. Never put oxy-clean into the tank. It is fine to use the spray oxy on the carpet but not the powder stuff.
i have to say that it cleans great. My dog barfed some green stuff on my carpet a week ago and since i haven''t had anything to clean it up with, it has just sat in the carpet. Well the stain is gone and it sat in the carpet for a week!
The dirty water tank is always coming up with dirt and stuff. The dirt stains in my carpet from my dogs/kids are gone and the carpet looks great. I am very happy with it. I will buy the extended 3yr warrenty on the machine. For 50bucks it will protect my investment in case i change my mind about it in a few months!
But I recommend for anyone go to your local shop. I read a lot of the reviews with women bitching about the tank not fitting into the bathroom sink or the cord not being long enough. Personally, I don''t want a small tank that fits in my sink. I have too much carpet to clean and the smaller the tank, the more I have to refill it. We''ve all had those days when nothing is going our way. Just relax. Get a grip! It''s just a steam cleaner and our country is at war!!! Hope this was helpful!

We purchased the All Terrain about six months ago. The instructions are very well written and assembly was easy. I fired it up for the first time and it cleaned the carpets beautifully. I thought we had a real winner. After that initial use the problems began to creep up. Starting with the second use, the clean water tank began leaking around the seal at a fairly significant rate. I probably should have returned the unit, but I didn''t, and now regret it because it is now totally out of commission. The brushes are connected to the unit via a drive shaft that is less than 1/4" thick plastic. On our cleaner this shaft sheered off and is stuck in the unit. Only at this point did I do any serious research about the All Terrain on the Internet and realized that these two issues are very common with these units and apparently dealing with Hoover for repair can be a nightmare. This is a great steam-vac. It does a great job, easy to use, and the other reviewiers have covered the high points pretty well.On the other hand, the thing that is driving me nuts is trying to buy replacement parts. All I need are the two clips that hold the receiver tank on the unit''s base. My girlfriend managed to break them and now the receiver unit doesn''t seal as well and the unit doesn''t clean as well either due to lack of suction, minor leakage, etc.
I''ve tried Hoover. I''ve tried the other stores that sell them. You can''t just buy parts for the damn thing. So people should just know if something breaks and it is out of warranty, you may just be buying a new unit as opposed to buying a few dollars worth of plastic.
With that one caveat, it is a great cleaner. Just don''t break anything and don''t let anyone else break anything.

I owned a Bissell steam cleaner for two years,& only got fives uses out of it. After that huge dissapointment, I researched Hoover steam cleaners & based on my results, I ended up buying one . I love this machine.I''ve had my steam cleaner for almost two months now, and it does a great job cleaning the carpets, I use it every other week. I have five dogs & two cats, and the carpets look great. It does an amazing job getting all the dirt out of the carpets. I was also surprised by how quickly the carpets dried. A half an hour was the fastest drying time, I used really hot water(not boiling).
It also did a nice job on the bare floors. After the water was sucked up,the floors were totally dry.....impressive.
Cleaning this steam cleaner is a breeze. The simplicity of it all just makes me appreciate this machine even more.
The brushes pop out making it easier to get out all the carpet fibers ect. The front snaps on & off making it easier to maintain. The double canisters are also a good idea.
I''ve used the hose once with the spin attachment, & that really didn''t impress me much. And wow, could Hoover make it any heavier. I have to wear gloves while using it because I started to get calluses.
With all said and done,I think there are so many good qualities that I''m willing to over look a few flaws.
I''m glad I bought this,it''s expensive but worth it. I''ve always heard "Hoover" was the best, and now I''m experiencing it for myself.

The Bunn BXB is an excellent coffee maker, but requires a different understanding of brewing coffee.Instead of super heating the water immediately before spraying it over the grounds, this coffee maker has a stainless steel tank that stores hot water at around 200 degree fahrenheit. This enables the coffee maker to spray hot rather than super heated water over the grounds, eliminating the scorched taste and power surges associated with fast heating. Fresh water poured into the reservoir at the top flows into the bottom of the storage tank pushing hot water out the top onto the waiting coffee grounds making a hot pot of coffee in under three minutes. The storage tank takes about 15 minutes to heat the first time and will hold almost two carafes worth of water.
My last Bunn lasted 15 years and failed due to a design flaw, which has been fixed in this model. Other coffee brewers were lucky to last 5 years.
My old Bunn coffee maker had the hot water tank in direct contact with the water reservoir in the top of the maker. This contact caused the water reservoir to disintegrate and leak whenever fresh water was poured into the coffee maker.
In the new model, this contact point is removed, separating the hot water tank from the water reservoir by about 1/2 inch. In addition, the reservoir now has a valve that doesn''t release the water into the hot water tank until the cover on the reservoir is closed. No more spilled water if you''re not fast enough with the carafe or forget the carafe needs to be in position before pouring in fresh water. This new feature also means no need to use and store the separate measuring/fill container.
My only problem with this design is the lack of insulation around the hot water tank. Because the water stays constantly hot, the coffee maker is a heat source that must be guarded against and is warm enough to be uncomfortable although not hot enough to burn. This lack of insulation also results in heat/energy being lost that could be conserved. (I use this excess heat to pre-warm canned catfood for my pride of cats by placing the catfood on top of the coffee maker. It heats the canned catfood just enough without overheating.)
Because this coffee maker is constantly plugged in, it may not be useable in some businesses that have rules about leaving appliances plugged in overnight to prevent fires. It is, however, an excellent coffee maker where coffee/hot water is needed 24/7.
Other than that, a great coffee maker that I''ll buy again -in 15 to 20 years.

Standard grocery-store filters are shorter than the type that works best in this machine, but you can get by with the grocery-store variety. It just makes a little more mess in the grinds-basket.
You have to wait 15 minutes for the machine to heat the tank of water before you can turn on the drip coffee function. This is pain if you don''t use it for more than one pot of coffee, but not really much more wait time than a standard brewer -it just requires you come back after 15 minutes and click it on.

I purchased a new BXB Bunn coffeemaker approximately 4 weeks ago. I purchased a Bunn because of the quality and great coffee flavor. I noticed immediately the coffee tasted weak, no matter how many grounds I added. I thought maybe it was just me but after having a few people over they too remarked at how weak the coffee was. I just made a phone call to Bunn customer service and they were wonderful. I was asked to remove the basket and check for a sprayhead. Sprayhead, what sprayhead? All I had was a threaded screw with a nut, no sprayhaed. Needless to say my coffeemaker was missing this most important part. That would be the reason my coffee was weak. The water was merely dripping through the coffee grounds and spilling into the pot instead of spraying the grounds. I''m going to be sent two sprayheads for free! I have read other customer reviews and there are numerous people who are complaining of weak coffee as well. I would have to say that they too are probably missing the sprayhead. Not sure how these coffee makers can leave the factory without them but I guess it does happen. A simple call to Bunn customer service and they''ll set you up with the missing part. I''m looking forward to a good cup of coffee once the sprayhead arrives. I read a lot of reviews before I purchased my coffee maker from Amazon. I am glad I did. It''s a funny thing to me, but often simpler is better. There is no water filter to mess with and have to change out. There is no grinder attached. It is simply a coffee maker that makes good coffee. Before I bought this machine, I called Bunn''s customer service to ask some questions. The gal I talked to was so helpful--her help alone sold me on the machine!This is what I learned:
1) Use only Bunn coffee filters. They have higher sides and will keep the grounds from ending up in the coffee. You can buy them online at Amazon, the Bunn Gourmet website, or at Walmart in the store if you need them today. We make really strong coffee, so I have to put more grounds in the basket. The filters are really important.
2) The regular sprayhead does make the coffee go through really fast. If you call Bunn''s customer service and tell them what model you have, they will send you a slower sprayhead for free. No charge. The customer service gal asked me which model I was going to buy and sent the sprayhead even before I had placed my order on Amazon! The slower sprayhead is also helpful if you have hard water, I believe she said- The slower sprayhead is helpful for us because it takes longer for the water to go through the grounds, which makes the coffee stronger and it keeps the water from overflowing the full basket of grounds it has to go through.
3) Use filtered water from your sink or fridge in the coffee maker.
4) Bunn makers make a 5 oz. cup of coffee so adjust your ratios according to how strong you like your coffee. (My old Krups was a 4 oz. cup)
Because we like such strong coffee, we can only make about 8 5-oz. cups at a time because I can''t fit any more grounds in. But, I don''t mind. That''s as much as our Krups 10 cup made and the coffee is great and hot!
Bunn has the right idea--I think. They simplified things. Less things to break and just what is needed to do the job right!

One wouldn''t think that the purchase of a coffee maker would be so difficult. It was. This Bunn coffee maker was a compromise. I wanted a coffee maker that would last a long time, brew an excellent cup of coffee, and be easy to maintain.The Bunn scores big on brewing an excellent cup of coffee. You can get a slower flow nozzle direct from Bunn at no charge, which might improve some coffees. With premium coffee, I don''t really notice an improvement.
The reviews almost all mention the longevity of these units, and I have a friend who was in the commercial side of the coffee business and had great things to say about the quality of Bunn. I''m satisfied that I will get close to 10 years of life out of this coffee maker, which is great.
Maintenance and ease of use: meh. I really, really wish this unit had an auto shut-off. Although it is very easy to see that the unit is on, I have company over frequently who seem unable to turn off the coffee maker in the morning. Grrr. Also, having to use the de-liming tool is a bit of an inconvenience that I didn''t encounter on any of my other units, where I could simply use a diluted vinegar solution for cleaning. Overall, not nearly as big a deal as no auto shut-off.
I definitely would have given this coffee maker 5 stars if it had an auto shut-off. I still think is a worthy investment and recommend it to my friends.

For several years, we''ve used Delta handheld shower with Aquasana water filter Then, a few months ago, the Delta broke and it was time for a replacement. We did a thorough research on Amazon and decided to purchase this Waterpik. The design looked good and the handle was very light. Regrettably, there was too much cheap plastic all around. So why the three stars? First, the harsh smell of the new rubber shower hose. How can I enjoy a nice, peaceful shower when I am enveloped in a toxic cloud? After 4 weeks of daily use, the Waterpik hose still smells awful. I replaced the hose with a 72" stainless steel shower hose from local "BDF hardware" (got it?) store. (Item #44053, $19.95) Second, since Day One, the shower head has been leaking. I changed the water setting, but to no avail. As the water flows, you can hear the constant drip.. drip.. drip into the shower floor. This is yet another example of a cheaply made, low-quality foreign product. Waterpik decided to slash U.S. jobs and build the product in China. They got what they paid for. In the future, I will seriously reconsider when purchasing another Waterpik product.5/30/09 Update:
Well, it''s been 9 months since we purchased this Waterpik Handheld Shower. At 5 months, the showerhead got clogged. Switching to another setting didn''t help: half of the (filtered) water was streaming down to the shower floor. We then replaced Waterpik showerhead with an identical model, under warranty. Now, that replacement is beginning to clog. In Ukraine we have a saying: "We are not so -richto buy -cheapitems!" Well, we got what we paid for.

In case you are thinking the "chrome finish" means metal parts, it is not so. The chrome finish is on all plastic parts. It seems that it might crack or break more easily that a metal product, of course. I thought it would be made like my sink faucet, out of metal. I will treat it with care to avoid dropping or tightening the parts so much that they crack. So far it works fine, no leaks, and the plastic does mean it is light weight in the hand. I have held metal ones that do cause some fatigue from holding the weight after a while. No complaints, but I was surprised by the all plastic, so I thought I''d post a warning! I give it 4 out of 5 because it works nicely, but it doesn''t do anything outstanding or unusual. Its quality may have dropped some, but this is by far still the best multiple spray shower head available. Our original white 5 spray of many years developed a crack around the threads and liking the Waterpik, I bought this model. It leaks as you switch modes so bad that it will dump water in your face if you are too close to head. You have to center it just right not to leak. Move it all the way to each end and it will leak. Tried another one and same thing. It is going back as soon as the epoxy dries on my old one. I live 50 miles from Waterpik headquarters and am going to video the old good one and this leaky one, and the next time I''m up there, see if I can find any one who cares.Update Feb 2 2011. I actually bought this because some of the reviews say it was loud. We run loud humidifiers to combat traffic noise in our bedrooms. This sucker is QUIET. You can hear a mouse fart with this thing on.Other than that it works like it''s supposed to. We kept it as a humidifier because it works so well for that and we just use the loud ones for noise.
I read some of the other reviews and can only conclude those persons weren''t using it correctly. It does a pretty good job humidifying and it''s not possible for it to leak if you put it together correctly. It is a little on the loud side but all humidifiers make noise. This is not by far the noisiest or quietest, but bang-for-the-buck wise, it''s a good deal.

I put the water in at night, wait 3 min. for the unit to fill, then turn it on. Yes, the unit does make some bubbling sounds, but it isn''t too loud and doesn''t bother anyone in our family. I got this unit on a special deal for $12 including shipping. It worked quite well until the reset button came on. And here''s the deal -once the reset button comes on, be prepared to waste an hour (or more) getting it to come on again.To give you an idea of what I''m referring to, here are the exact user manual instructions (for what to do when the reset light comes on):
"RESET PROCEDURE
NOTE: When the water tank is empty and the water in the Heating Chamber is almost empty, the Automatic Shut off will activate. The RESET Light will illuminate and the unit will not operate again until you refill the water tank and reset the humidifier.
1. Turn the power knob to RESET.
2. Unplug the unit.
3. Remove and refill the water tank, being sure to follow the Daily Maintenance Instructions. Replace the tank onto the base.
4. Wait 15 minutes for the Automatic Shut-Off to reset.
5. After the 15 minutes, plug in the unit and turn the Power Knob, to HIGH. The RESET light should now be off (if not repeat steps 1-5). In about 10 minutes, the humidifier will begin to produce moisture.
If the reset light is still on at this point, and the unit does not begin to produce moisture within a few minutes, then repeat steps 1-5."
Even THIS much would be a pain IF it worked as described. However, what you''re actually doing is following the instructions above, watching the RESET button immediately come back on (unplugging and waiting another 15 minutes) and trying it all over again. I''ve been trying for TWO DAYS to get the reset button to shut off.
To my surprise, the instructions advise to run the washable parts through the dishwasher DAILY (!!!!). To give it a good cleaning, I left he knob on "RESET," unplugged it, took the whole thing apart, scrubbed the heating element, cleaned the entire inside of the unit, changed the water in the tank, made sure the knob was still on "RESET," plugged the unit back in and turned the knob to "HIGH." Guess what? THE RESET BUTTON IS STILL ON!!!!!!
At this point, I''ve spent 4 hours using it and thre DAYS trying to get it to work.

I bought this and another model (The Grout Brush Head) just to make sure that I have one that works as I didn''t want to start and then find out that the brush doesn''t work as well as I would like. Both do a very good job but I think this model does the job a little bit better. It seems to have harder bristles. But I''m not knocking the Grout Brush Head. Both work fine. It''s nice to be able to go forwards and backwards instead of sideways as that sideways motion is awkward and you can''t get good pressure. So I would recommend either one of these products. Both swivel and both work on any handle with a screw. I am so happy that I bought this as I was starting to see some darkness in some grout lines and we have a large kitchen, entry, eating area that is all tiles. It would have cost me over $500 to have the grout cleaned and I am doing it for less than $30 plus a little exercise on my part.So this review is basically like the Grout Brush Head review because both products meet my expectations.
Update: I ordered another one for a sister in law with white kitchen tile and arthritis in her back. It was a gift. When it arrived it had been mangled in the mail and although functional, it had deep scratches and scrapes. It was not in a condition to be given as a gift. I contacted the seller through amazon and she promptly send me a brand new one with her apology. I can''t ask for better service than that.I tried many grout brushes and have been disappointed many times, so I know the difference... but not this time! This brush does a great job with its super stiff bristles and it is very strong, it just lasts and lasts. Other brushes fell apart before the job was done (the blue one with the white bristles what a waste of money). About 15 years ago, I purchased a Bunn home duty coffee maker and found it to be excellent. After about 5 years of nearly daily use, it started to get a little finicky so I took it apart in an attempt to clean the hot water chamber. Turned out the sealing parts are not really made to be taken apart after 5 years of use and then go back together.In a quest for a new Bunn, I found that the VPR cost about double what the home version cost so.... 10 years later, the Bunn VPR is still going strong and has helped out at family events serving large groups of people (just what the machine is designed for!). Despite having water poured into the bottom heat plate (don''t try to pour water in without a carafe in place), it still works perfectly!
A hint to those who make coffee only on the weekends: the design of the Bunn is that it is a small hot water tank and keeps a couple gallons of water hot and ready to go at all times. This will use some electricity and I''ve taken to putting a towel over the top of mine to help insulate and lower energy usage. Additionally, being hot all the time, water will evaporate. If going more than a couple days without making coffee, it''s best to pour a pitcher of water in (with the filter basket empty and a carafe ready to catch the hot water) to top off the tank and then make a pot with coffee after it has reheated the reservoir.
If by some Act of God, my Bunn stops working, I will not hesitate to purchase another Commercial Bunn for what is essentially personal, home use. If you love coffee and can tolerate the price, this is a great choice for a coffee brewer!
If you do unscrew the sprayhead, set it in the screened inlet where you pour the water into the maker, so that you don''t inadvertently start a pot of coffee without the sprayhead in place. I did get a steal of a deal on mine new on ebay for $100.00...

I am very unhappy about the write up on this item. I did not see the notation on the bottom of the page "Please note that the decanters for this unit (Bunn 6100 and 6101 Easy Pour) are sold separately." until the order had been processed. PS. after discussing the issue on the phone with Jacques (JD) in Customer service, an adjustment was made. He noted there were 2 pictures there one with and one without decanters and the larger picture used in the display had 2 decanters. On closer inspection, I discovered they were different models. The one with the decanters has a black protective lid on the water inlet while the one with no decanters had no lid or perhaps a different design feature. Kudos to Jacques for prompt and great customer service.

KDF/GAC filters have been around a long time. They are vastly superior to other filters. I have, in addition to the under the counter water filter with a KDF/GAC cartridge, a whole house sediment filter using a 10 micron pleated filter. The sediment filter keeps material from ending up in the KDF/GAF filter and thereby extending the KDG/GAC filter''s useful life.The current KDF/GAC filter now in use was installed in 1999. It is rated at 20,000 gallons. (This filter can easily do twice that amount and still be 93% to 99% efficient depending on what substances are being removed.) At 20,000 gallons, that would mean 4,000 days at 5 gallons per day for drinking and cooking purposes. That is just short of 11 years. We don''t use 5 gallons per day for making coffee, cooking food and drinking purposes and this filter is still going strong and doing an excellent job. You may use tap water to rinse food for preparation, just don''t cook with it.
You will know when the KDF/GAC filter''s life is coming to an end when the water flow becomes weak. Even then it is still working, but time to replace the filter.

I don''t have ''bad'' water, but don''t like the subtle chlorine flavor/smell, which this takes care of.Most other filters need to be replaced every three to six months or so; not because they are ''used up'', but because the bacteria that survives until it gets inside a carbon filter (the part that removes the chlorine, that kills the bugs) starts colonizing it.
Theoretically the copper/zinc portion protects the rest of the filter from growing the bacterial slime that forces you to throw out other kinds of filters. I can''t really attest to that, short of cutting open the filter and feeling for slimy ''ick''.
This kind of filter is a great money saver on rentals with in-sink filters and/or ice makers inline before the fridge (check your refrigerator manual most of them allow you to completely remove or to install a ''dummy'' filter, so you can use a cheaper filter inline with the input water supply). You know the tenants won''t ever change a filter, so the inline version of this will take care of the fridge for years.
After about two years of this being on the cold water side of the kitchen tap, it still tastes OK and has good flow for everything. Filling water bottles, coffee, kettle, pots, etc.
The filter somewhat reduces (but does not eliminate) the scaly build-up on things like hot water kettles and coffee makers. The kind of stuff a little vinegar knocks right out.

CONS: The water keeps running after you shut it off. This is not a malfunction, it is a design flaw. The instructions even make reference to it. Considering the cost of this item, I feel this is a major drawback. I am not impressed. This bothers me every time I use it.
NEUTRAL: 1. Water does not come out cold. It sits in the filters at room temperature, so you''d have to run it for a LONG time before it would be the same temp as the water coming out of your cold water tap. It must be refrigerated if you want it cold. This is fine. Just fill a pitcher, not a glass. 2. Water runs very slow. Filling a pitcher, or a coffee pot takes a while. 3. The reason the filter faucet runs on is because the valve in the handle turns water on and off to the inlet of the filter, not to the faucet itself. I can only assume this is done so that the filtration system itself does not need to handle any real pressure. This would make it less expensive to manufacture, but like i indicated above it also means that the water runs for 5-10 seconds after you shut it off, as water pressure bleeds off, and residual water siphons out.
HOMEOWNER TIP: If you do call a plumber to install your water filter, whether it''s this one or not, ask him to replace your shut off valves with 1/4 turn "ball valves" if they are not ball valves already. He''ll explain why it''s a good idea, and why this is a good time to do it. He''ll also think you''re an educated homeowner, which is in your favor.

I bought the Aquasana to eliminate contaminants and strange odors from our water and it''s done a fantastic job. It was relatively easy to install, took about 20 minutes. The complaints about it dripping after being shut off are valid, however, the manufacturer tells you up front that the unit will drip for about 5-10 seconds. It''s really not a big deal, we just shut it off a bit earlier, the quality of the water it puts out makes it all worth while. The water is completely flavor/odorless, exactly what I needed! Our municipal water contains a significant amount of bleach and other contaminants that can''t be removed using pitcher filters, but that the Aquasana IS rated to remove. We have just replaced our Aquasana AQ 4050 system and wished that we had done so years ago. We replaced it with a Watts Filter-Pure UF3 system which produces much better water for a better price. The Aquasana unit produced poor tasting water, came with a cheap plastic faucet that eventually stopped working, had filters that were difficult to change, had poor customer service and was very expensive to buy new filters for. Also, the pressure in the unit is reduced such that the flow is way too slow. Aquasana will sign you up with a discount if you sign on to a program where they automatically send you replacement filters every six months they are still way too expensive even after that! I realize now that we were drinking sub-standard water from the Aquasana unit for over a year, despite all the so called specifications and website comparisons that they put out. First of all the water quality is very good, the filter housing is very poor. I have changed out three housings due to leakage issues. The o-rings provided are undersized for the filter housing lids and will easily move out of position when reinstalling the covers even using o-ring lubricant. The covers are light weight poor quality plastic and threaded, the thumb tabs have broken off several of the covers. An Aquasana representative reluctantly acknowledged they have a problem with the filter housings. He stated he would replace the housing free of charge if I would enroll in an automatic filter program, I refused his offer and changed to another brand of water filter at my expense. The filters themselves are somewhat pricey it appears this is where Aquasana makes their money and I would have been willing to accept that if it were not for the poor quality filter housing. I work with industrial liquid filtration systems of all kinds and have the mechanical ability to change the media in any kind of filtration system without incident until I started dealing with the Aquasana filter housing. Save yourself time and aggravation forget the Aquasana brand and look at other products on the market.
