Rubbermaid 20-Ounce Filtration Personal Bottle -BlueI bought this bottle so that I could stop buying cases of water. There were so many empty bottles of water in my car it looked like I had a problem. I really wanted something that would allow me to have filtered water anywhere. I read the reviews on the Bobble and the Brita filtered bottles, but many complained about noise and leaking. I found this in my grocery store and when I couldn''t find a lot of reviews online I decided to take a chance on it. I''m glad I did.

Love this water bottle. I waited to write this review until I took it to work with me as I believed that to be a true test of the filter. The tap water where I work is disgusting and tastes like copper soaked in chlorine. This water bottle turns the nasty water at work into bottled water taste.

In addition:

-The screw on cap that is attached to the finger loop keeps the mouthpiece sanitary without having to keep track of a little plastic cap

-soft, squeezable, but durable feeling plastic that is also BPA free

-sounds like a squeezable water bottleit''s not silent, but I haven''t noticed any weird ''wooshing'' or hissing that reviews have commented about other filtered bottles.

-No leaking whatsoever!

-Clicker wheel on the bottom of the filter helps you keep track of when to change it

This bottle is going to save me so much money and waste. I can''t wait to take it camping in Julythere''s tap water for drinking at the campground and this will save us from lugging bottled water to the campsite.

I bought the two-bottle and extra filter set as a starter; we wanted to test this design. The decision to start with this product was based on comments on this Web site as well as others. After using it for two weeks taking it to school, shopping, and sailing with us, I decided to purchase two more because this product design and performance met our needs and fit into our life style.

We love the design:

1). The two cap system is easy to work with-you don''t unscrew the filter when you want to unscrew the drinking cap or refill the bottle;

2). The filter is easy to prime and to replace;

3). The bottle does not leak even when tilted upside down: you can suck out the water or squeeze the bottle; either way works well;

4). The plastic is durable and can be squeezed without damage or puckering;

5). It fits into our vehicle''s cup holders (Hyundai and Ford SUV);

6). You can refill the bottle easily; the mouth is wide enough and the strap holds on to both the drinking cap and the filter section; it doesn''t fall off the bottle at all!

7). Durable plastic works well on the boat.

We love the quality (taste of water) it provides:

1). The water tastes great: no chemical smells or taste-and we refilled using harbor/marina taps as well as public parks, office and school drinking fountains, and our home tap.

2). No particles penetrate the filter.

I bought this bottle just because it was only $10 and I was curious to see how well filter bottles work. I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it, as tap water in my area isn''t exactly great for drinking, and this bottle made tons of difference! It greatly improves the taste of the tap water, and it has encouraged me to drink more as I no longer have to pop open a bottle of water every time I want a drink. I can just refill straight from the tap, and I''m sure in the end I will be saving a lot of money. The top does not leak (unlike other types of filter bottles), and the stream of water is always strong with minimal effort (again, unlike others). And, at $10, it''s not that big of an investment. Filters last a couple months, and a 2 pack of replacements is also $10. Definitely worth a try.

After looking at the CamelBak and Brita filter bottles I decided to get this one because of all the positive reviews. I am glad to say I have not been let down. Here are some of the pros and cons of this bottle.

Pros:

-Water tastes good (It''s no Poland Spring, but it''s good)

-The bottle is easy to use once you get used to it

-Dishwasher safe

-The lid is wide enough to easily fit ice cubes into the bottle

-Wide drinking mouth, easy to get a good swig of water when you''re thirsty

-No leakage whatsoever

-There''s a feature to hold cap down so it doesn''t smack you in the face while drinking (it doesn''t say this anywhere on the packaging, but you can pull on the finger-loop when the cap is unscrewed and there is a little nub that holds the cap down)

-Filter is easy to set up (only takes ~30 seconds) and lasts about 2 months

-There''s a filter timer on bottom (Very simple design, you just click it onto the month you need to replace the filter)

Cons:

-There''s a puff of air that comes out right before the water. This takes some getting used to. I have found that it''s easier to sort of pour the water into your mouth instead of closing your lips over the bottle.

-The bottle has a somewhat small capacity and if you fill it all the way it spills over when you put the top on (because of the space the filter takes up)

-There''s a screw cap over the drinking nozzle so you have to unscrew it every time you want a drink. I think a snap cap would have been better but if you''re sitting at a desk you can just leave it open or lightly screwed. I think the screw cap helps to stop leakage from happening.

Overall it''s a great bottle and I would definitely recommend it.

Nice wide opening for ice. Fills easily. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it can be hard to drink out of due I assume to the filter (or maybe a combination of the ice and the filter). Found I have to ether squeeze or suck pretty hard to get the water out.
