Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ

I use this stuff for almost everything. Cleaning sinks, bathtubs, toilets, calphalon pans, stainless steel pans, my grill, stainless steel anything, silverware, the kitchen sink, and best of all is the glass in our shower. I have tried EVERYTHING to get the hard water spots off of our shower glass, but CLR and Lime Away didn''t do the job. I found this and BAM! With minimal scrubbing I was able to make my shower glass crystal clear. I''ve gotten so many hooked on this stuff and they keep telling me new uses for it.

UPDATE: (January 19th 2011) This stuff is still amazing, but be aware that this is an acid and can eat through things if left on too long or not cleaned. ALSO, this is an abrasive! DO NOT USE IT ON CHEAP CHROME PLATING as I used this on a cheap shower trinket to get the soap off of and the chrome began to crack, flake and the metal rusted (this goes back to it being a strong acid). ALSO, I''m a man who is not a big fan and do not condone the use of men using "Moisturizer". Using this stuff on bare hands can dry the hands out as it cleans them a bit too well. I tend to protect my delicate.. I mean manly hands with nitrile gloves. ALSO, do not leave the chemical on stainless too long. It will blotch it white if left on TOO long. My guess is that it eats at ferrous metals or possibly the chromium content.

We had a red stain in the kitchen sink. I went to Home Depot and grabbed this stuff because it was $1.79. I take it home and use it on the sink, it got the stain out. The next day I decided to use it on the tub. Keep in mind that the tub was from the 1920''s and it looked like it, it was gray in color. So I put a little BKF on the tub and started scrubbing. That''s when I got irritated with it because the gray on the tub turned to slime and started to come off and reveal the white of the porcelain. I hate cleaning the tub and usually put as minimal effort into cleaning it. But I knew that the tub would look awesome totally white again. I probably cleaned off scum from at least 40 years of tenants prior to us. This product rocks.

Here is a tip. I use it on my ceramic tile in the entire bathroom. The tip is to use a green scrubby pad and lightly wet it. Put the BKF on the pad and put it all over the tile. It will be slightly sudsy. Leave it on and let it dry till it looks like chalk all over your tile. Take a dry terrycloth towel and wipe it off. Your tile will look like a mirror!

Its funny how through creative marketing products that actually work like this one get lost. People end up buying less effective products because they smell nice. Then the younger generations get a hold of products like BKF and think its the greatest thing since sliced bred, only to find out that our grandparents have been using it for decades.

I live in Seattle WA. Since our waters are different from State to State, I thought I should mention that. I moved into this new house 5 years ago, and since then shower glass doors became dull and dim due to hard water stain. As we all know, cleaning the hard water stain from shower glass door is almost impossible! Like many, I have tried many, many cleaners: CLR, Lime-Away, Windex, Oxyclean, etc... 5. Scrub in a circular motion, then side to side and up and down.

7. REPEAT the process (1-6) next 4 days.

Step 7 is important. You will not see the radical difference right away. I saw the difference in two days. But after four days, the shower glass door looks brand new. It is worth it!

OMG This stuff is great! I have some super expensive cookware and you can''t just clean it with anything. The manufacturer suggested to use white vinegar to remove spots and other such discolorations to keep it looking new. The vinegar didn''t work at all. I used BKF and what a difference it made. All I had to do was sprinkle a little on a moist surface, use a paper towel and work in circular motions forming a paste. After about 30 seconds I rinsed it off and it was like new! Every piece I have used it on now looks like new. I will always use BKF on my pots.

WHY would the slowest quietest speed be the most effective?

If I understood it correctly, it is because it causes the air

moving through the filter to "linger" (or move much slower) through

the carbon filter area (the most critical aspect of the entire machine,

is the carbon or charcoal as this works in gas masks in chemical warfare

even).... so it seemed to explain the SLOWER the air moved through the

machine the more absorption of pollutants by the charcoal/carbon whatever.

Why use the HIGHER SPEEDS THEN? As I understood it, they recommended

the higher (louder) speed settings when you need move a lot of air from

the room through the filter quickly, like a smoke filled room, or when you

first set it up in a really dusty or "chemically" room... so while it''s

moving faster through the filter and getting less effective absorption, it''s

still functional as the need in those situations is to get at "all the air in

the room asap"... and then, they recommend, you turn it down to the slowest

(and it so happens super quiet) setting.

anyway, i think that''s what i read and have been using the machine accordingly.

Again, i do not own this particular Tube model but i''m very interested in getting

one though for a smaller loft area.

The fact one reviewer said they put it in their car!!! while driving and used

the cigarette adapter, really caught my attention. If that reviewer sees this

and cares to add more, i''m VERY interested as i have Chemical Sensitivity Disorder

and it makes automobile travel a very sickening experience.

I''ve had it for years. Replacing the charcoal every number of years seems

expensive, but i think it''s well worth it as that''s what the entire thing is

of the AllerAirs are nice also... but not as radical as the carbon or charcoal which

is THE thing that removes chemicals... the prefilter and hepa filter

are for dust and particulates...

like in a gas mask. No gimmicks. Someone mentioned plastic smell, which is unusual (i hope),

especially as that''s another aspect, at least of my AllerAir Vocarb, (and i thought

ALL their units), is that it''s virtually ALL metal construction, and they specifically

Good transaction. The filter seems to always have been a little shaken up with one or two layers internally shifted. It seems that as long as the layers aren''t too out of whack, the filter is still ok.

My old RO filter (with UV) was not working right, even after replacing all the filters. So I was looking for a new RO system with good reviews and decided on 2 systems: Tap Master TMAFC Artesian Full Contact Reverse Osmosis with Alkaline by Perfect Water and iSpring 6-stage with RO Alkaline. The Tap Master had tons of great feedback, but so was iSpring (the non-alkaline model). The only reason why I ended up purchasing iSpring was the price.

DAY 1

The system came in a well packaged box and I found everything easily including some spare parts for future use, which I appreciate. Fittings and pipes were included. All I need was the tools (wrench, scissors, etc) and a Teflon sealer that I got from Home Depot. I noticed a little trace of water and I found out that iSpring did a real test for quality control so that''s a good thing.

Installation was not hard, but it took me 45-60 minutes because I had to make sure that all fittings were tight and I also labeled the in/out just for future references, steps that most people won''t do or not required to get the system up and running. The manual is clear and upon my purchase, the seller emailed me a youtube link that shows how to install it.

Once everything was installed, I ran the water for about 10-20 minutes just to flush the system. I used HM Digital TDS-EZ TDS Water Quality Tester and got 150+ PPM (parts per million) in the beginning, and got better as I continually ran the water within minutes to as low as 20 PPM. I also tested a very popular bottled water that I like, and it showed the same 20 PPM with similar taste, which is great. After about an hour or two, it seems to stay within the 15-45 PPM range.

Note on PPM:

0-50 PPM = ideal water

50-100 PPM = carbon filtered water

100-200 PPM = hard water

200-300 PPM = average tap water

300-400 PPM = high total dissolved solid (TDS)

500 PPM = US EPA''s high contaminant level

I''ve ran it for a few hours now and saw no leak and everything works great. The water quality is crisp and better yet, the Alkaline level is better than just an ordinary RO (alkaline has many benefits and will help you detoxify your body naturally).

DAY 2

Tested the water often and I get 20-40 PPM. Water came with less bubbles.

DAY 3

As of now, the PPM is constantly in the low 20s with very little bubbles. This system runs very quietly and I''ve never heard any noise from it. I will update this review if I see some degradation in quality other than normal wear/tear or scheduled filter change (which is recommended every 6 months for some, 1 year for the other). Overall, I am happy with the quality and most importantly, I have a good, clean and great tasting water again. I will not have any problem recommending this system to anyone.

It is gratifying to know that our drinking and cooking water is this pure and has the right alkaline pH from the stage six filtration...After installation, I chased leaks for three days and eventually Teflon taped the factory-assembled plastic tubing compression joint threads. If you take the initiative to Teflon tape all tubing compression fitting threads before installation, you will be much happier in the long run. Also make sure tubing ends have tapered sleeve inserts in place--the added-on alkaline filter''s tubing did not have these inserts installed, creating one more nuisance leak. Though the leaks were frustrating and indicated a need for improvement at the manufacturing/assembly level, the lower price, overall quality and clear gains of the system deserved a four-star rating. When I unpacked the unit I noticed that one of the elbow fittings was just broken off. That wasn''t a big deal since they included several extra fittings (more than the instructions said there should be) just an annoyance trying to remove a threaded fitting when there is nothing sticking out to grab onto.

After I replaced the fitting I followed the instructions and it was an easy install, but unfortunately half of the threaded fittings were leaking. Most just needed to be tightened one was on so tight it needed to be removed and add some new Teflon tape. The alkalinity filter was probably the most troublesome as far as leaking was concerned.

Once I got all the leaks the until works great, water taste great, and it brings the TDS down from 320 to 23. I would give it 5 starts but having to take apart and redo most of the fitting that where done at the factory was a drag (may-be I got a technician that was in training or having a bad day).

The Handy Cooler appears to be well built. The fan is very quiet. You can put the unit on a desk or tabletop, and it will blow a nice stream of cool air at you.

I like the way you can rotate the air head ninety degrees, giving you greater flexibility in positioning the unit. I also like the little water bottle they give you, which holds two "recharges". Yes, they have figured out how much water you can add to keep cool without water dribbling from the unit. They figure you can go from thirty minutes to three hours on a "full" sponge, depending on your environment.

I have told the company that makes the Handy Cooler that they need to introduce a shoulder holster, so you can wear it around and use it hands-free. In the meantime, I am going to see if I can rig up some sort of shoulder sling or something that will suit this purpose.

At any rate, if you hate the heat, the Handy Cooler is the real deal -cool relief to go. HIGHLY recommended.

My only gripe, as another customer commented, is the high UPS shipping charge. A lower-cost USPS shipping option would be welcome...

And yes, I use NiMH rechargeable batteries, and they last for hours on a charge. Ahhhh...

I don''t tolerate heat well at all and when I made plans to attend an all-day outdoor event in Eastern NC a few weeks ago, I knew I had to bring something other than just a sweatband. Stumbled across this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It is terrific! It fit in my normal-sized fanny pack with an extra set of batteries and the little water bottle, along with a small still camera and a Flip video camera. By midmorning my t-shirt was soaked and I had already wrung out my headband twice, so I found a little shade and fired this guy up. It is just amazing the fan alone would be great, but the air blowing out of it is genuinely cool! Not like your car A/C blasting on max, but still unbelievable. I ran into several people throughout the day who looked and looked and finally said "what IS that?" and I explained and let them try it. I think I made a few sales. Within 20 minutes I had wrung out my headband and stashed it away for the last time that day.

If you''re going to be out and using it consistently all day, load up with new batteries in the morning and take an extra set.

I like this so much that I decided to order a replacement sponge (the one the comes with it advertised to last about a year). They come in a two-pack for $10. I thought that was a little pricey for pieces of sponge, but OK. When I saw that the shipping was an additional $12 for two lightweight slices of sponge, I wrote a nastygram to the manufacturer. They wrote back. They are embarrassed by that and are working to develop an alternative that won''t cost so much (UPS is going to charge something to deliver a box, no matter what''s in it). I work in IT in an order fulfillment/shipping operation and I know it takes a while to put a system in place, so bear with ''em they are trying to get the shipping costs down to a reasonable level. And no, I have no interest of any kind in this company! I''m usually pretty cynical but got the impression these folks are trying to get it right.

All that said, this product is worth every dime I paid, shipping included. I would buy again, and I would recommend to a friend.

I ordered this product based on various positive reviews. I was not disappointed.

When I first applied the product, I was uncertain as to whether it was really doing the job on the grout, but I did not realize how dirty our light colored grout had become. Wow, what a difference. I used the dilution ratio of 1 product to 5 water and it cleaned very well. I do have a couple of spots to redo now that I can see the difference in the colors. The spots that I need to redo are around the main cooking area and I may change the dilution ratio for those particular areas.

We have a very large kitchen/dining area and it is all tiled so it took me a good part of the day since I only did small areas at a time. I put the product on with a sponge mop and used a scrub brush and a toothbrush to get into the grout. Our tile has been down since 2005 and even with regular cleaning, I still am surprised at the good results with Aqua Mix. A little goes a very long way.

I will definitely purchase this product again when I need it.

I bought this grout cleaner and followed the directions exactly as given. After my tile floor dried, I didn''t see any difference on my grout, what a disappointment! I then bought a much cheaper product, the Totally Awesome Grout Cleaner, and it WAS awesome! Now my grout looks like new! Don''t waste your money on this one.

Good:

The PH110 is accurate and cheap. I am able to get repeatable flavor and texture when I make cheese, because I can hit all my markers.

Bad:

The PH110 requires fiddling every time I want to use it. It requires at least one calibration when I take it out of the cabinet. Then if I wait more than a couple of hours between uses, it requires another calibration. Calibration isn''t difficult, but it can get pricy because you have to buy pouches of calibration solution. I put the solution in a tupperware bowl and reuse it for a day or two.

Ugly:

A couple of times, I had to remove the batteries to reset it because it locked up during a calibration.
