Revere 7-Ounce Copper and Stainless-Steel Cleaner Save 35% Off

Revere 7-Ounce Copper and Stainless-Steel CleanerI read online to buy this to help remove scuffs from stainless steel. It didnt work.. It made everything around it shiny so I guess its good for polishing but wont help with scuffs or scrapes. I then had to polish the entire refrigerator so it matched.. But the fridge is nice and shiny now.. Scuffs and all

My Revere pots and pans are over 50 years old. They still look good enough to display, thanks to Revere copper and Stainless-Steel Cleaner. I also have some expensive stainless steel pots, and this cleaner keeps them looking like new too.

Surround Air XJ-3800 Large Intelligent Air Purifier Save 37% Off

Surround Air XJ-3800 Intelli-Pro Air Purifier with Photocatalytic Filter HEPA/Carbon Filter and Germicidal UV LampA little research pays off! This was my first air purifier purchase. Originally, I was going to buy an ionic one. But, I was amazed once I started researching how little I knew!

In case you''re in the same boat, Here''s the criteria I ultimately set, ratings for this model on the criteria, and my experience with it:

CRITERIA #1: Must noticably reduce our allergies, clear smoke and odors: 5+ Stars!

Have had it two months with a smoker, a hairy dog, and allergy season in full bloom. Reduced allergies and no breathing problems at home since we got it. Noticable quick removal of odors and smoke!

(NOTE: More power than I even intended. You may be able to get a cheaper model if you don''t want all this one has:

A) Electrostatic/Ionicattracts pollutants from a wide area, but not odors and allergens

B) Carbon clears smoke, odors and pollutants but not germs and allergens

C) HEPA traps even the smallest of allergens, but nothing else

D) UV destroys bacteria and germs, but not allergens, pollution or smoke cheaper models offer only HEPA and UV filters.)

Best Added Feature: The sensor lights that let you know the status of your air quality and then watching them go off when it''s corrected the problem.

CRITERIA #2: Low/No ozone model! 5+ stars.

I found that the old sharper image-type ionic-only models (many still on the market at reduced prices) only clean pollutants, but not odors and allergens. Worse, they generate ozone at a level that can exacberate asthma problems. The electrostatic filter combined with the ionic one in this model eliminate that problem. Look for one that has this!

CRITERIA #3: High area coverage: 4.5 stars.

I found an obscure site that lists air purifiers and their coverage areas and particle levels. This one seems to cover about 1,200 sq. ft. or more than double what is listed. But, even with what was listed, proved to be the best ranked in comparison with price levels.

CRITERIA #4: Low Noise: 4-stars.

We keep it in the living room mostly on auto. On low and medium, it''s very quiet. On automatic mostly very quiet, unless it''s under attack from something like cooking or opening the door frequently. On high, it makes a noticable "white noise". But, it''s OK good for falling asleep and not so loud you can''t hear the TV. Wouldn''t put it on "high" regularly though.

CRITERIA #5: Price/Value including maintenance: 4.5 stars

My budget was $200. I went over that slightly. But, the filters on this one are so much cheaper than the models I compared it to that the extra $40 should more than pay out.

BOTTOM LINE: I chose this one based on research, but I highly recommend it for quality and value! If you want to cleaner, fresher air and reduced home allergies without intrusive noise at the price, I''m not sure you can do better.

Given that there weren''t many reviews out when I bought this purifier, I figured I''d take a minute and give a brief review of it after having used it for a few weeks.

Out of the box:

It''s a very lightweight machine that has a very elegant/professional look to it. The "Flow, Timer, and Power" buttons feel a little like cheap plastic, but it''s really not a big deal, nor does it diminish the look of the purifier.

In Action:

When I first started it up, I heard a little bit of "static" noise coming from the ionizer, as it was possibly collecting the dust that was in the packaging that it was shipped in. Within a minute, that noise was gone, and it has been operating very smoothly and quietly for the last few weeks. I live in a house with central air, and the air quality is pretty good, but since I have bad allergies, I wanted to get a purifier. To be honest, I''m not sure if I can tell the difference, if any, it has made in improving the air quality in my room, but I always keep it on (Auto setting) and it gives me comfort to know and "see" (the indicator) that my air is clean. Interestingly, the sensor in this purifier that determines the air quality and revs up its engines as soon as the air quality becomes worse is quite sensitive. It even knows that the air quality has changed/worsened (ever so slightly) whenever I peel an orange! this also happens if you spray some cologne while you''re in the room. Just a few minutes ago, I opened my window to my backyard and noticed the machine''s air quality indicator shoot to its highest setting, signifying that the air needs to be rapidly cleaned. It was right! I know that there is a ton of pollen outside today, and that''s what came into my room. My Intelli-Pro picked it up quickly and adjusted appropriately.

One small thing I don''t like about the Intelli-Pro is its always-on blue light, which tells you that the UV light is working. I don''t like sleeping with a night light, and even if you do, this light might be too bright to sleep with. For now I just angle the purifier away from my bed and that solves the issue. I may eventually want to put a small piece of tape over it but obviously that would ruin its beauty.

I have not yet looked into how difficult it will be to clean the different filters, but there are decent instructions in the manual provided and I don''t anticipate it taking more than 15-20 mins.

Overall, I''m very impressed with the different air-purifying technologies that this company has incorporated into quiet, yet powerful Intelli-Pro air purifier (look into the product details/description for the specifications). I would definitely recommend this other consumers in the market for a reasonably priced, high-quality air purifier. I''m sure you will like it!

It''s bigger than it looks in the pictures: Stands about thigh-high. This put me off at first...but then I plugged it in.

First impression: It''s not doing anything.

After two days: I want to have it''s babies.

I have allergies...miserable miserable allergies, and I just moved back to maryland during the worst allergy season I''ve seen in years.

To a house with three smokers. And Two Dogs. And Two Cats. This house has clutter (re: dust) and mold and four plants in the livingroom and old carpets. It has old furniture and crummy filters but it DOES have ceiling fans!

This house is allergy hell.

and this purifier?...Ah...I swear I can breathe again. It cleans up the air (auto setting rocks!) of the entire 500 sq/ft first floor from *awful* to *clear* in roughly 20 minutes, and if it''s running constantly, it never gets intolerable. In fact, it barely ever gets to worse than "do you smell something?" for more than a minute or two, even if there has been cooking and smoking and the dogs were in the rain.

Even if it only lasted 6 months before it totally broke down, it would be worth the price to pay every six months to get another one.

I am in love.

OK, In order for you to develop some since of discernment with me, let me give you a flavor of my personality and background: By profession, I am a technical writer in the engineering field which is not really saying much... everyone knows engineers can''t communicate very well and stink at writing; but give us a problem and will solve it for you three different ways and confuse you trying to explain each one.

When I look at reviews to buy a product, I don''t read all the 4 and 5 star reviews because I''m thinking most people are too proud to admit they bought something that doesn''t work... you feel better about your $200 purchase when you tell everyone else, "It''s wonderful!" No, what I do is click the sort button to show me the 1 and 2 star reviews because I want to hear what the unhappy buyers have to say. For this product, the 1 and 2 star reviews represent about 15 percent of the total number of reviews, and 78% represent 4 and 5 star reviews. Apparently, not a bad product according to customer reviews.

In the bad reviews I read things like,

"...it gives off a foul burning plastic smell when you first turn it on...", or

"...the ''AUTO'' mode doesn''t do anything when I shake a bunch of dust in front of the intake vents...", or

"...the ''clean metal grid'' and ''replace filter'' lights come on much faster than hoped or advertised", or

"...I am a senior citizen and I broke the metal wires trying to clean them...".

And then there were those who warned that you''d be sorry if you bought the item because all the positive reviews fail to tell you certain things which are important about this horrible product (in their opinion)!

I just about decided not to buy the XJ-3800 Intelli-Pro based on what I was reading, but in all fairness I scoured through the 4 and 5 star reviews. I wanted to see if there were enough people giving intelligently informed opinions rather than just stating that they loved it and that it has a bunch of bells and whistles that seem to indicate that it''s working. After much reading, I allowed the positive reviews to help me overcome my skepticism and purchased the unit.

My unit arrived in less than a week. Upon unpacking the unit, I remembered that almost everyone expressed a little bit of surprise with the size of it. With me, I''m thinking, if this unit is going to take care of a 20 by 30 room (600 sq. ft.) and be able to do so quietly and efficiently, it''s going to have to be larger than your typical bookshelf speaker; otherwise it''s just not going to be efficient or fast enough at cleaning up the air when contaminants are introduced (smoking, odors, pollen, mold, etc). Now engineering physics tell you that you can do the same job with a smaller sized unit, but then you have to have a faster fan speed to move the same volume of air. Faster fan speed would translate into more fan noise, so I guess the trade off here was to go a little larger in size and opt for quieter operation. I''m good with that.

For the operating display, the unit has a power button, and an airflow control switch which can be set to AUTO, QUIET, LOW, MED, and HI speed. The AUTO mode allows the unit''s sensors to determine the necessary fan speed based on the quality of the air in the room. The sensors are suppose to throttle the fan speed up and down accordingly as needed to clean up the air. The display also has a 4-light indicator labeled, "Clean Air Monitor" which is interpreted as follows: 1 light on no pollution detected; 2 lights some pollution detected; 3 lights moderate pollution detected; 4 lights severe pollution detected. Next there is a UV/Negative Ion indicator lamp which just simply tells you the UV lamp is working. This UV indicator light is suppose to cycle faintly between dim and bright. Many people have complained that the light is an eye sore and cover it with black tape if it is being used in the bedroom where they sleep. Personally, I found it no more obtrusive than a very dim night light or the LEDs on your cable or satellite DVR. The light oscillations were very faint such that you really don''t notice it unless you intensely stare at it. Next it has sensor lights for ODOR detection, DUST detection, and ALLERGEN detection pretty straight forward. It also has a Power ON timer, which can be set to 1 Hr, 2 Hrs, or 8 Hrs. I think I would have rather seen 2, 8, and 12 hour timer choices for my needs. And finally, there are indicator lights that tell you when to clean the metal grid filter and when to replace the HEPA filter. No doubt this is a thoroughly designed unit if everything works properly.

I have had the unit now for about 2 weeks, and the following are my impressions after using the air purifier during this short amount of time:

First, the instructions clearly say to place the unit in a large room initially where you can create outside fresh air exchange by opening windows and doors assuming the outside air is relatively clean. You are to operate the unit for several hours in that room before using it in its intended space. I suppose this is to help alleviate any potential smells from the unit while it is new and freshly unpacked. But the interesting thing is that the unit I received did not seem to have any objectionable odors during initial operation, even when I bent down and sniffed the purified air exhaust in the back of the unit. Well that''s all good, but why are other buyers saying different? My presumption is that probably 5% of the units sold have a problem due to quality control, in assembling or packaging resulting in unusual off-gassing. Asking for a new replacement unit immediately if this occurs would solve that problem and that is where Amazon shines.

During initial operation in "AUTO" mode, I began to worry that this unit was more of a conversation piece rather than an air cleaner because of all the pretty lights, buttons and futuristic looks. I worried that the unit was doing nothing more than acting like a small air blower. So I decided to get out our 12 year old vacuum cleaner and started vacuuming in the area near the purifier. Within less than a minute, the "DUST" light came on, the clean air monitor indicator moved to 4 lights (indicating severe pollution detected) and the fan speed immediately shifted into "HI". The fan noise was not objectionable; in fact not even near as loud as a normal oscillating house fan running at a moderately high speed. With bright sunlight light coming in thru the large living room window, I could see particulate dust matter floating around in the area where I had just run the vacuum. Within about 5 to 8 minutes, the particulate matter had cleared and the unit began to cycle back down to "MED", then "LOW", and then the "QUIET" fan speed. At that point I was thinking, hmm, nice!"

I had remembered reading one fella''s review who wrote that when he expelled some personal gas near the purifier, he laughed when the "ODOR" light came on. I thought, funny, but naaaah. So I went to take a shower while the unit was in its initial operation for several hours. When I got out, I decided to take my roll-on deodorant and apply it to my underarms while near the purifier. Sure enough, the "ODOR" light comes on (I assume from the deodorant `cuz I''m not gettin'' back in the shower, lol), the fan speed ramped up, and stayed this way after I had left the room and gotten dressed. When I came back 15 minutes later, the odor light was still on but I ignored it and left the room again. Came back about 2 or 3 minutes later as I was leaving the house and the "ODOR" light was now off and the fan speed was back to "QUIET".

Now just to give you a little heads up, neither my wife or I are smokers, and we don''t have any inside pets, but we do live in an area of the country where outdoor mold spores and pollen counts can rise moderately high at times. Our home is only about 12 years old, and we mostly use a propane ventless space heater to heat our lower basement office areas in the winter. This is where I spend most of my days and where I want to use the purifier.

Well after initial operation, the instructions say to unplug the unit from the wall in order to reset the sensor data memory and move it to the space of intended use for normal operation. I did this. After plugging the unit back in and powering up, the unit shifted into "MED" speed and the clean air monitor lights went to Defcon 2, lol. I guess it was finding that my office space had contaminated air. As an interesting contrast on the odor detector, my wife decided to do her fingernails one evening in the room next to my office. The chemical was that strong smell of acetone fingernail polish remover, which permeated the whole downstairs. I closed my office door and looked over at the XJ-3800 Intelli-Pro and it had already ramped up to the next to highest fan speed, with 4 lights showing on the Clean Air Monitor, and the ODOR light was on. It took the unit about 10 minutes to clean up the air in my 15 by 15 office with the door closed. When I again opened my office door, the unit ramped up again to clean the rest of the air in the basement area. It finished that area in another 30 minutes.

I have to say that I am pleased with this unit and would buy it again with the short experience I have with it. I am not sure what kind of life I''ll get out of the UV lamp, HEPA filter, or "wires" that will eventually need to be cleaned, but the instructions give you step by step procedures with pictures so I am not too worried. Now what about all the other good folks out there who have not had a positive experience? Well the discernment that I believe is needed here would include the following:

* Do you have a highly contaminated interior area that includes, frequent smoking, indoor pets, damp and musty basement areas, older construction homes (20 plus years), carpet or upholstered furniture that has not been replaced in more than 10 years, wood burning fire places where ashes and soot can become airborne, inadequate outdoor air exchange rates (ASHRAE codes recommend a complete fresh air exchange through mechanical ventilation every 3 hours, minimum)? All of these can create an interior space that will require an air purifier to work harder and longer, and shorten the life of the filtering system.

* If your home is naturally ventilated from open windows, screen doors, loose door and window seals, etc. then your home will experience 3 to 5 air changes per hour or more. If you have high mold spore and pollen counts outdoors, high humidity levels, high industrial or transportation pollution nearby, and windy conditions, this can be bad for the inside of your home and can shorten the life of your purifier''s filters.

* Some people (and I really should say most people) don''t like to read instructions. They unpack a product, plug it in, and then throw their hands up in the air when it doesn''t work the way they had hoped. A good manufacturer includes helpful instructions to make sure you have a successful experience with their product. They know that if the unit works properly, you will tell your friends and you will buy another. Therefore, they go to great lengths to tell you how to get the best operating experience out of their product. Read the instructions before turning the unit on. I think this may be the downfall to some, not all, who experience disappointment with this unit.

* And finally, some of these units probably are lemons out of the box. Based on the reviews, and taking exception for operator error, I am guessing the lemon rate may be as high as 5 percent. That''s probably 4 percent too high. But even with this high of a faulty rate, Amazon will be your ace in the hold to insure your satisfaction.

Therefore, I have given this product a 5 star review and would recommend all to buy it from an Amazon sponsored dealer in order to protect your purchase.

Wow, this machine is amazing. I actually picked it up at a second hand store for $15.00 dollars. It only needed a new $36.00 HEPA filter. I have two dogs and it took the dander smell right out of the air. I can also walk up to this machine and fart, the machine will detect the odor and the Ordor light will turn on. Too Funny!!

Pur Plus FM-3000 Vertical Faucet Filter

Pur Plus FM-3000 Vertical Faucet Filter
  • Vertical-faucet water filtration system
  • Made from carbon and special agent that removes lead; improves water taste, odor, and color
  • Diminishes contaminants cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, mercury, asbestos, turbidity, sediment, and leus up to 98 percent
  • ASM filter-life indicator notifies users to change filter; filters should be changed every 150 gallons
  • Weighs 1 pound; fits most standard spouts

I''d give this 3 1/2 stars if I could.

When you first attach the PUR filter, it works beautifully. Water comes out fast, and comes out clean. But fairly soon, and well before the filter is supposedly used up, the filter cuts down on the flow as it gets more and more clogged. After a while it can take 30 seconds to fill up a glass of water. Ours also has a leakage problem that is exacerbated the more clogged the filter is (the leak comes from the plastic covering that tells you how used up the filter is)...Don''t know if ours is defective or if this is typical.

We have since bought a PUR pitcher filtration system, and that seems to be more convenient to use because you don''t have to sit there like a ... waiting for your glass to fill up.

PUR is superior to BRITA filters, by the way, because they also filter giardia and cryptosporidium, two bacteria that can cause intestinal illnesses. This is especially important if you live in areas with iffy water systems (i.e. St. Petersburg, Russia, which is full of giardia/Mexico) or if you have a weak immune system.

The PUR filters work out to about 25 cents per gallon of filtered water. It costs more to filter dirtier water and less to filter cleaner water.

When you finally throw out the used filter, try cracking it open and having a look at all the nasty gunk that you didn''t put into your body. It''s definitely worth the price, don''t you think?

Buy Pur Plus FM-3000 Vertical Faucet Filter Now

The PUR filter itself does an excellent job of filtering water.

The dramatic drop in chlorine, alone, makes the filter (only) worthwhile.

The problem is with the design of this filtration system.

For a day or two, the system works nicely. Then, the water pressure drops to a trickle. It can take over a minute to fill a glass with

water. This is unacceptable.

Time to find a new water filter.

This is an excellent and convenient filter system. It does a great job. I have used this for over a year through two filters and have not noticed the slow water flow other report. The water tastes great, and breaking the old filter open when it is replaced reminds you why you have one. This is far far less expensive that bottle water. I''m not as much of a tree-hugger as some might like, but I have no problem with "conservative spending habits."

A very good cleaner for vinyl siding; easy to use and really cuts into the dirt. First time using I''d buy a second bottle to ensure you get the whole job done as you''ll go through it pretty quickly. But if you''ve ever used it before on whatever your cleaning, a bottle per the square footage on the instructions should be good enough.

Lasko Natural Cascade Humidifier

Lasko Natural Cascade HumidifierI have had several Holmes humidifiers and Lasko humidifiers since getting rid of the last of the old permanent console Sears belt humidifiers that clogged and put mineral dust into the air.

The Laskos just run and run season after season (clean them out at the end of each season) and replace the paper cascade with a metal Honeywell cascade once and forget it. Do not attempt to clean the aluminum cascade (or just replace the polymer cascades every year they''re really not filters, per se).

BTW You cannot fill these in the sink, they are too tall; you must use the faucet in the bath tub or shower. The flow there is much faster and you can fill it up faster there, anyway!

I used to be able to get both Lasko and Holmes at Wal-Mart, but they seem to only carry the Holmes now. That does increase filter/wick sales since you are supposed to (and HAVE TO because they no longer wick water properly with mineral build up) replace that every month on the Holmes units.

On the other hand I pitched one Holmes whose wick clogged in 1 month and am keeping another in the bedroom as a back-up to the primary living room Lasko when it cannot maintain proper humidity during the coldest weather. The wicks constantly clog with minerals and quit working and the water valves on the containers never seem to open properly. (I have now re-engineered the valve openers so they always work, but why should the customer have to do this?)

I am tired of replacing Holmes filters or having the unit fail to operate and metal Honeywell filters will not "wick" water to keep this type working. I have even added spacers to solve the Holmes valve failure problem, but they have to be centered perfectly or the valves cock to the side and still fail to open!

Winter 2008 ADDENDUM:

After 4 years of operation I finally had to replace the metal cascade.

We also have noticed that these units do a pretty good job of cleaning the dust and cat hair out of the air (we have 3 cats). It does this in two ways, first, the filter catches most of the cat hair and can be backflushed every 2-3 months, secondly, the dust gets knocked down with the waterfall cascade and collected in the bottom of the container where there is a foam filter to prevent these particles from being recycled back to the pump. Wash out the bottom every couple of months and you have a pretty good air filter.

NOTE,: As an engineer, I modified the distribution tray on mine with larger holes so more water goes through the cascade and less is dumped over the overflow dam. Also put an orifice in the visual flow indicator to divert more back to the distribution tray.

ADDENDUM #2: Just had the motor die on another humidifier and just purchased a Lasko 1120. Small, compact, unobtrusive in the living room, lowest initial price and just RUN forever! This may be my last humidifier I''ll ever have to purchase!

Winter 2009/10 ADDENDUM: The motor finally died in my last Lasko unit. I removed the dead motor/pump and installed an aquarium pump for the waterfall and a small fan from Rite-Aid Pharmacy, that fits perfectly into the cone and it is running like a champ.

Our humidity is running around 45% at 10 to 20 degrees and we can breathe again without waking up with a sore throat, dry eyes and dried out nose in the AM!!Lasko® Natural Cascade Humidifier

This is my third humidifier in as many months. I tried an expensive ultrasonic with a filter but it still produced a grotesque amount of white dust. I then tried a warm mist unit but the humidistat did not work at all and the boiling chamber quickly became caked with mineral deposits that were hard to remove.

The Lasko unit is well designed and built reasonably well for the money. White dust does not seem to be a problem and the circulation of the water seems to prevent bacteria growth. It does require cleaning but they all do.

I have not used it long term, but it seems be a great product in the two weeks I have used it. The replacement filters are reasonably priced and available directly from the company (there is a sticker with their toll free number next to the refill cap which was thoughtful).

I sent an email to the company with a question and they responded promptly.

I am giving the unit five stars because it is amazingly hard to find a humidifier that even approaches acceptability. I was looking for a humidifier that does not produce white dust, has a functioning humidistat, and is not a germ factory. This unit seems to meet the criteria.

HAVE USED THIS FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. AND IT IS GREAT !! THE MAIN REASON I LOVE IT, IS THAT UNLIKE OTHERS I HAVE TRIED IN THE PAST, THERE IS NO WHITE DUST COLLECTING ON MY FURNITURE, OR TV SCREEN, I ALSO USE A SHARPER IMAGE AIR CLEANER, AND WITH THE OTHERS, IT WOULD HAVE A BUNCH OF THE WHITE DUST COLLECT ALL OVER IT TOO.

IF ANYONE KNOWS HUMIDIFIERS, THE WHITE DUST YOU GET FROM USING THEM MAKES YOU JUST WANT TO TOSS THEM OUT THE DOOR. AND WITH THE LASKO, THERE IS NONE.

IT IS A GREAT UNIT.

Read Best Reviews of Lasko Natural Cascade Humidifier Here

At 1st glance this would appear to be a great humidifier based on features alone, but after 1+ month of use, I''m frankly starting to wonder why I gave it 2 stars a moment ago. We have an older, conventional tabletop unit we''re bringing out of the closet as soon as this one quits, which likely won''t be long now.

The water reservoir is too tall to refill in the sink, & at a couple of gallons is heavy enough to make it awkward flipping it over to place back on the base -you want to carry it upside down because the cap leaks. Because it won''t fit under the sink''s faucet, cleaning it with bleach water & rinsing several times (as recommended once a week) is a major chore.

The filters are supposed to be anti-microbial -they''re not. Water drips on the filters from the top, which is supposed to prevent parts of the filter from drying out like it does when filters sit in the water -the whole outside of the filter dries out instead so you don''t get much if any airflow. Cleaning the filters once a week is recommended, and necessary, but after soaking them in vinegar & water, they are very hard to get back in place... The main unit lifts off the base, and you have to lay it, dripping water, on its side to place the filters which, when wet, are too short! But that''s OK as you have to clean the mineral scum off the inside of the unit anyway.

Construction is extremely cheap and flimsy, plus mineral deposits form at all the seams making it look nasty. The waterfall window is just for looks, and gets scummed up with minerals. I expect the tubing will get clogged before the winter season is over also. The humidistat, which is supposed to turn the unit off at a set humidity level, worked the first 3 or 4 days & apparently quit. Because it sits on a separate, flimsy base, you have to be very careful to place it somewhere it won''t get bumped. And for some reason we have never figured out, 3 times it has flooded the surrounding 4 foot area with water.

Soleus Air DP1-70-03 Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier Save 44% Off

Soleus Air DP1-70-03, 70 Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier, WhiteMy basement runs about 80% humidity all year round and stays about a constant 62 as well.I have had this unit running for a month and it has done everything I have asked of it.The basement is 1200 square foot and this dehumidifier has lowered the humidity to 55% which is where I have it set.I have it hosed to a drain and it is fairly loud on the high setting. The only negative I would note is the bucket seems a little flimsy if you are opting not to hose it to a drain.Actually it is the handle of the bucket that is suspect.Overall very happy with this product.

Got this unit for a great price from stacks and stacks! Great delivery time, well packaged for shipping. Unit works great so far, noise is not too bad, but it is a 70 pint, going to be louder than smaller units, as expected. I am running this in my utility room of an otherwise finished basement, so I am usually not in the same room with it trying to watch TV or listen to music.

I always seem to over-research things like this before buying, glad I did this time, perfectly happy with this unit and would definitely recommend the product and the seller!

I bought the dehumidifier about a month ago, and have been using it in my incredibly humid bedroom. It removes a LOT of moisture in the air up there. The space is about 400 sq feet, and there is no more condensation on any of the windows, not even the ones all the way across the room from it.

I don''t recommend running it at night though, as it will dehumidify YOU! It''s also a bit noisy and blows cold air. But it has really helped a LOT in keeping mold at bay, especially, which is something we worry about here in the Pacific NW.

It is very easy to empty, and on average probably removes at least two gallons of air from the room a DAY.

The Soleus Air DP1-70 arrived in perfect condition via UPS. Packaging was intelligently designed and protected the unit well.

My old unit was all metal but now this is all plastic. However, everything fit well and it was up and operating in just a few minutes.

The controls are intuitive, smartly layed out with easy to read large digital numbers. Everything is easy to use and understand. The noise is relatively modest in "full thrust" mode and you can also control the fan speed to reduce noise even further. It makes a rushing air noise that is not objectionable at all nor does the sound carry into adjacent rooms.

The Soleus is truly impressive in its ability to remove moisture from the air rapidly. I checked the units humidity setting accuracy to a reference humidistat. The Soleus was almost spot on.

The unit is energy star rated, has automatic restart, and will shut off if water container is full. It is also cosmetically pleasing to look at. It has a retractable handle on top and casters to move it about easily. Other reviewers have stated it is reliable over time. I hope to enjoy it for years. Very smartly designed unit and I recommend it.

To start, overall I am happy with this purchase.

Now for some clarifications and critiques.

It is a 70 pint per day. That is 8.75 Gallons/day. The bucket is at most 3 gallons, probably closer to 2 gallons.

It is only capable of doing 70 pints/day if the conditions are correct, i.e. temperature is ~68°F.

It doesn''t say anywhere how big of a room it can really manage.

The humidity readout is in 5% increments.

Details about my basement:

It is unheated and therefore close to 60°F

It is ~1600 square feet.

Performance after 1 month:

When I turned it on, it read that we had an 80% humidity. After running 24/7 (drain hose hooked up) for a month we are now at 60% humidity. It has not shut off yet(we have it set to shut off at 50%).

1L Grease Drain Opener

1L Grease Drain Opener
  • "INSTANT POWER" HAIR AND GREASE DRAIN OPENER
  • 1 liter.
  • Formulated to create heat to melt grease from clogged kitchen sinks and drains.
  • Dissolves hair from clogged bathroom sinks, showers and tubs.
  • Safe for all pipes and septic systems.

Purchased this at Home Depot (CLARIFICATION purchased INSIDE A BRICK AND MORTAR STORE much cheaper than this on-line price) for the WORST clogged bathtub (caused by a tenant)EVER. When I moved back in, the tub drained terribly slow and only got worse.

I tried everything but calling a plumber who wanted over $200.

Blew money on worthless canned air that shoved the clog further into the drain, purchased many plungers none worked and neither did the boiled water/vinegar/baking soda "natural" idea. Drano, from past experience, never works so I saved my money by refusing to purchase the junk.

Instant Hair and Grease CLEARED MY BATHTUB DRAIN IMMEDIATELY. I let the water drain and helped it go down with a plunger. Once the standing water was gone and there was at least an inch or so of no water in the pipe, I poured in some Instant Hair and Grease.

My dishwasher stopped draining and I cleared what I could around the drain holes at the bottom of the dishwasher. I let an EMPTY dishwasher run for a bit and then poured in a VERY SMALL AMOUNT and closed the door to let the unit cycle though. BINGO my dishwasher drains free now. In a two year period, I used this product 3 times on my dishwasher with no problems. It probably isn''t recommended for it, but it works and it hasn''t affected my 1999 Whirlpool dishwasher except to allow it to drain quickly.

NOTE: Home Depot carries it in 2 sizes. Buy the larger size and save money.

UPDATE January 2013. A contractor dumped several buckets of dirty mop water into my bathroom sink. The bottom of the buckets had a thick layer of brick dust and drywall dust from where they tore out a wall and tore down an old oil burning brick chimney. They also ripped all the drywall off all 4 walls and insulated the walls and re-drywalled. I think they dumped something else down there also because the plunger pulled up dirt or something like dirt. The sink was CLOGGED nothing went down. Repeat plunging of the sink forced up a ton of dirt and sludge and when enough water was removed I used the recommended amount of drain cleaner. It did not work despite my not using the sink for 24 hours to let it work. So I plunged the sink again to force down the water (wearing safety goggles/gloves) and then I waited a week (did not use the sink) until enough water had evaporated or drained from inside the pipes then I poured quite a bit of this drain cleaner much more than it says to on the directions because this was my 2nd attempt using the product. After pouring quite a bit down the drain I left the stuff to work for over 24 hours. Result the sink drains perfectly now.

Buy 1L Grease Drain Opener Now

I didn''t buy this online because of the shipping charges; I got it at a local Home Depot. It is the only chemical drain cleaning product that has ever worked for me. I used it in three bathroom drains (two sinks and one tub) in which I''d repeatedly (over the course of years) used Liquid-Plumr and Drano with no real results. These drains were all slow, but not completely clogged. I poured the recommended amount of Instant Power Hair & Grease Drain Opener into each drain and left them overnight. In the morning, I poured about a quart of boiling water down each drain, and now they all drain perfectly. We were so used to the drains being slow that we are amazed at how well they drain now.

The way the product worked on one drain in particular illustrates how great the product is. When I poured the boiling water in, it didn''t drain immediately -it backed up into the sink. Then there was a big GLUG (the clog being washed away), and all the water drained away. This is one of those products that actually works as advertised. It also has a money-back guarantee; so if you buy it in a brick and mortar store, it would be easy to return if it doesn''t work (but I''ll bet you won''t have to do that).

Had an extremely slow draining tub so I bought this stuff at Home Depot and gave it a shot. Poured it in and let sit over night and the next morning I flushed it with a gallon of boiling water. The clog is gone and the tub drains effortlessly.

ProTec Humidifier Tank Cleaning Cartridge Save 24% Off

ProTec PC-1 Humidifier Tank Cleaning CartridgeI''m a medical professional and Mom of 3 kids. I researched this product extensively before using it. I thought I would share what I found: A clinical study was conducted in 2006, which showed this product was extremely effective at killing germs and mold in humidifiers (Journal of Water and Health, vol 4.2, 2006). Also, it''s shown to be very safe and 100% natural (based on natural silver technology...the active ingredient in the cartridge is actually used in many drinking water filters found at the "big box" stores.) One point to mention: it doesn''t remove minerals. If you get stains in your humidifier from iron in your water you''ll need a demineralization product for that (or use filtered or distilled water). I use it and highly recommend it.

After paying well over a hundred dollars for a humidifier, I got so tired of the sloppy job of cleaning slime out of it that I was almost ready to throw the thing away. After replacing its $15.00 filters (every 3 months) that seem to do about nothing, it didn''t seem worth the cost and effort to keep it operating. The unit''s instructions advised me not to use any additives but just clean the thing about every filling and keep replacing those filters as directed. So, since I was going to throw the thing out anyway, I tried one of these cartridges.

It worked. It''s been about a month, and the slime is starting to come back, but that''s supposed to be the effective life of the cartridge. The humidifier survives. I still have to clean it, but the task is now infrequent and easier.

So, it does what it''s supposed to do; does it for as long as it''s supposed to do it; hasn''t harmed the over-priced humidifier; and is good for the environment as long as it keeps this humidifier out of a landfill.

The cartridge costs about $5 and last only 20 days before the filter and the cartridge starting reek. However, I found that Holmes Bacteriastat cost

about $7 and could last for a season and it also extended the life of the filter.

My suggestion is to buy the Bacteriastat.

At the end of the winter season when most of us use a humidifier, we must face the daunting task of cleaning the humidifier before storing it (until next winter).

If you have been conscientious about using a water anti-bacterial additive once a week, then the end of the season cleaning job will not be "too" bad. If not, well, this chore will be more demanding and time-consuming.

This is the first year I have used this product. It is a plastic cage that holds chemicals which promise to keep your humidifier clean. You simply put this thing in your humidifier water tank and the miracle happens. The manufacturer recommends replacing it every month or so. I bought two for our 4 month humidifier/winter season. That seems adequate.

This item looks like something we used to put in our dishwasher to keep the water from spotting... although I am sure the chemicals inside this thing are different.

Anyway, you want to know if it works and is it worth the price.

Yes it works. My humidifier IS cleaner than what it would be without it. Is it worth the price? That depends on the value you put on your time and how hard you are willing to work at the end of the humidifier season to the task of cleaning your humidifier before storing it. I think this "ProTec" product will make the job of cleaning your humidifier very fast and easy. Is that worth $10? That is up to you. What makes this a good investment is knowing your humidifier is being KEPT clean during the months you are using it.

Would I buy this "ProTec PC cleaning cartridge" next year? Yes, I would.

Brita On Tap Faucet Water Filter System (Chrome) Save 2% Off

Brita On Tap Faucet Water Filter System, Chrome
  • Reduces chlorine (taste and odor) and lead* (*Substances reduced may not be in all users? water.)
  • Attaches easily to faucets
  • Features spray and stream
  • Electronic filter replacement indicator
  • Filters should be replaced after approximately 100 gallons of filtered water or about every 4 months

I have been through several Pur faucet mounts.. Each of them cracked and blew up. While Pur was good about replacing them, I was tired of the hassle and switched to the Brita faucet mount. They were pathetic as well. They kept getting detached from the faucet because they used these cheap plastic couplings.

With that said, I am happy to report that this new model uses a metal coupling. We''ve had it up and running for the past week and it incredibly solid with no sign of leakage. Most importantly, it looks like it''s going to stay on.

I feel is that everything we''ve used up on until now has been a beta test. This one new release feels like they ironed out the kinks. I will post an update if I find out otherwise.

UPDATE: 12/20/2011

We''re in our 3rd month and this is still working fine. No blow-ups or leaks.

UPDATE 1/4/2012

Ugggh. I''m sorry to report that it cracked and sprung a leak last week. The good news is that Brita is sending over a replacement PLUS, I have viable theory on how to prevent it. Even though the faucet connector is metal, the internal components are still plastic. The unit seems to be designed to withstand a certain level of pressure. My recommendation (which I will follow) is to minimize the pressure by going easy on how far turn the faucet when you''re in filter mode.

UPDATE 5/29/2012

Since the most recent update, this unit has been replaced 3x...all for the same reason. It starts leaking after about 3 months. We appreciate that Brita honors their 1 year warranty by sending us new units, but it''s getting annoying. Of course, I know their driver behind the willingness is they sell a lot of filters. But sheesh. Brita feel free to contact me. We love your product and what it''s designed to do. But you''ve got kinks you need to work out and I''m happy to provide direct feedback to improve the reliability of your system. Please give me a manager at Brita I can contact via the comments for this this review.

I see a lot of reviewers are having trouble with the base popping off. I sure know what they''re talking about, but I''ve been using Brita tap filters for at least 10 years and never have this trouble anymore if I follow these rules. And I don''t use the metal connector, I use the plastic one without any trouble. (I think the metal one will wear the threads on my faucet, so I avoid it.) Also, I''m using the other model of Brita tap filter, which has a spray setting. This one is thicker at the base for some reason. I''m not sure what kind of lever this one has for switching between filtered and non-filtered water, but I think these tips will still apply.

1. When you install the base onto the faucet, hold the base in a very level position. As you turn the ring to screw it on, you should feel no resistance at all. If you do, then you''re not holding the base in the correct position. It has to be perfectly lined up.

2. Install the base with the filter as far back on the left side as possible, so that it rests against the left side of your sink''s spigot. This will prevent it from moving around when you move the lever to switch into filter mode.

3. Use care when switching the settings. When you switch into filter mode make sure the water is off! Do not switch while the water is running. This causes too much sudden pressure on the filter base.

4. When you switch from one setting to the other, steady the base with one hand while switching with the other, and do so in such a way that the base doesn''t twist or torque at all.

5. Watch for any hint of leaking around the connection area, and when it looks the slightest bit less than tight, it''s time for a little maintenance. Remove the filter base and clean the screen inside (it gets clogged periodically and this is what causes pressure build up. If you''re using the adapter, before replacing the base, be sure to sure to check that it is still screwed in tight. Also be sure the little washer on it is in place.

6. Last but not least, never run the water faster than it can come out the filter! The filter can only filter about 3/8 inch stream of water. To run the tap any faster than this causes unnecessary water pressure.

7. One more tip for getting more life out of your cartridges. Have a water pitcher or 2, and filter a lot at once. This reduces the amount of time you run water through it to clean it before getting your drinking water, and reduces the amount of stuff for it to filter out per amount of water that goes through it.

If you follow these rules, you''ll be golden :)

I''ve used the older brita model for several years and was very happy with it. Sadly the indicator light stopped working on the base so I bought this new model. I hate it. Maybe I got a dud, but I cannot see the green light to tell me its working. AND the water pressure is horrible--about half of what the old one was. I may try a PUR. I''m so disappointed. This one is NOT an improvement. Why did they mess with a good thing?

I''ve been usuing Brita for several years and was always very happy with it. As the light stopped working on my old one, I got the new model and to say the least, am more than disappointed. First of all there is no light indicator at all that tells when the filter needs replacing. Secondly the spout for the filtered water does not come out like a stream anymore but splashes all over the place. It is impossible to fill a water bottle or thermos with it or anything with a small opening. Even holding a regular glass under it is tricky because none of the water comes actually from the center of the water flow. Instead, it splaches all over your hands and into the sink. The control knob is also a change I''m not crazy about.

I''ve got this new model at our local BJs at a price I thought was a bargain because it included two filters. I paid $30 but now realize it''s not even worth $10. My family also hates the way it works so I guess it''s "Good-bye Brita" .

Sunbeam Ultrasonic Visible Mist Humidifier

Sunbeam Ultrasonic Visible Mist HumidifierBought this last year & we only used it 3-4x, for a total of maybe 16 hours of use. It worked great & we had no complaints. Dried it & stored it according to instructions & brought it out this year. After the initial use of about 2 hours it stopped creating mist. Turn to the instruction "leaflet" that was included with it when we bought it and the only "solutions" for the humidifier not creating mist were: 1. It ran out of water; refill the tank -OR2. It''s not plugged in, or it is plugged in but isn''t turned on high enough. Thanks, but I''m not an idiot, so it was plugged in, filled with cool water & turned on HIGH and still no mist. Tried cleaning it thoroughlyeven though it wasn''t really dirty and made no difference. A vast waste of money & I will certainly check reviews before purchasing my next humidifier. Thought we could just pick up any one because we don''t use it often, but clearly I was wrong.

I mostly concur with all the points made by the brimar''s review. If you know what to expect from an ultrasonic humidifier, this one does the job adequately. However, to add or highlight a few points:

-if you set the unit on high, it will easily put out more vapor than it can disperse into the air, which will result in soaking the surfaces in front of the humidifier (not a problem unique to this humidifier).

-it lacks a humidistat. (That''s a dial like a thermostat that automatically turns off the mist output when the desired level of humidity is reached.) You can find other humidifiers in this same price range that include this feature.

-the tank is very tall, and you fill it from the bottom, so don''t be surprised if you end up having to fill it in your bathtub. (This is also a problem many current humidifier models suffer from. Most have awkwardly shaped tanks that either don''t fit under a typical bathroom sink tap and/or don''t balance when turned upside down.)

In summary, this unit has some of the same flaws seen in many current humidifiers, making it average.

Buy Sunbeam Ultrasonic Visible Mist Humidifier Now

This is a good humidifier, not great. I''ll keep this simple:

Pros:

-Large enough tank so you don''t have to refill often, once every couple days if you run it for 3-5 hours in the evening

-Very quiet, can''t hear the fan but you can hear the bubbler (ultrasonic metal disk in the bottom)

-Doesn''t require filter

Cons:

-If the water runs out, the ultrasonic disk will get VERY hot (trust me, I touched it) and mine didn''t shut off automatically -Now it only puts out half as much vapor

-Blower isn''t large enough, the bubbler puts more vapor than the fan can blow, so the water vapor will get your floor soaked if you turn it on high

-approximately $40, too much. should cost about 20-30.

Having grown accustomed to the old quality, it is very difficult to give these new Waterpiks a top rating. I have used Waterpiks for many years. There are three, ten-year-old Teledyne Waterpiks currently in use in our home. My first recommendation addresses the most common complaint I''ve read in many reviews: WATER PRESSURE. Before installing, remove both the filter and the pressure control insert with a pair of needle-nose pliers. (SEE IMAGE) They simply unscrew and lift out. This allows the shower pressure to equal the pressure in your plumbing. The filter also reduces pressure. It is nothing more than a plastic cone full of pin holes which will have to be removed and cleaned every few months anyway. And the water flow control? It is impossible for a shower massage to function properly without adequate water pressure. Going green is one thing. Going red from leftover soap is another. The pressure control has to go. Once this is done, no tools are needed for installation. The old Waterpiks had 6-foot hoses. The new ones are only 5 feet long. I contacted Waterpik customer service and they do not even offer a 6-foot hose as an accessory. The stiff hose, bent from packaging, bows out from the wall like an angry snake. If you are not careful the shower will easily come out of the holder and attack you when your back is turned. This happened twice to my wife causing pain. I thought running hot water through it for awhile would cause it to relax. Not so. The shower head rotates freely in the holder. As a result, the spray bounces off of one side of the shower stall then the other. There is nothing to keep the spray stationary in a downward direction. Many of the new custom and poured-marble showers have built-in seats across from the plumbing fixtures. A 5-foot hose will not reach. Consumers are paying more and getting less because of mandated conservation regulations. A good shower is one of the few luxuries of our daily lives. Life is too short for a lousy shower. The government obviously disagrees. We, the consumers, are forced to buy 2-Star products and then have to remanufacture them in order to it to achieve 5-Star results. Frankly, for Waterpiks top-of-the line at $39.99, I expected better. And the SM 3UC doesn''t even have the desired C option which is a concentrated center jet stream. At least now, I know what to expect. I finally removed the dry-rotted rubber washers out of an old 6-foot hose and replaced them with new rubber washers. However, the chrome fittings on the old hose would not fit in the new holder, so I had to re-install the old holder. Finally, the direction of the spray stays where I want it instead of spraying all over the stall like a wild weasel and the hose is long enough. My 3-Star rating was very generous. Waterpik has succeeded in ruining a great product. Have a nice shower.

Buy Waterpik SM 3UC Original 5-Mode Massage Handheld Shower Now

If you''re familiar with the original Teledyne WaterPik Shower Massages that were made several years ago, you will undoubtedly be shocked when you remove this new model from it''s package and observe how comparatively cheap and chintzy it seems...despite its rather high price tag. It is constructed almost entirely out of lightweight white plastic, aside from the faux chrome head and the clear plastic spray selecting ring. The head/handle piece is approximately nine and a half inches long and attaches to your shower pipe via a five-foot hose (which is afflicted with a very unpleasant rubbery smell). After use, the handheld showerhead hangs on the wall pipe with a plastic hook. I don''t particularly like the way this hook works because it doesn''t seem to hold the head very securely unless you force it down into it, which makes it too hard to pull the showerhead out again.

The WaterPik Shower Massage can be installed very easily...IF you can get your old showerhead off. Spray choices include regular; regular with soft pulse; hard pulse; really hard pulse; and center spray. You may notice that the water pressure is a little low. This is explained in the multi-lingual instruction booklet as follows:

"Waterpik showerheads are equipped with an OptiFLOW regulator that limits the maximum water flow to 2.5 gallons per minute at 80 psi as mandated by U.S. federal law."

It goes on to describe how the OptiFLOW regulator can be removed with a pair of needle-nose pliers, but I didn''t want to do that as I do not want to break the U.S. federal shower law.

Overall, the Shower Massage is still a pretty good product, but it''s obviously not as well made as the old models.

Went through 2peerless showerheads and 4waterpik showerheads because of shoddy quality and operation and high price. this was number 5, i figured its tried and true design would make for a good product.

the plastic is cheapthe dial feels like its connected to nothing, and has no click, making changing the settings guesswork. out of the box i saw that the pivot ball was almost welded ineven with vise grips i couldn''t budge it, so then i just removed the screen and regulator and threw it on. it had no pressure with the regular spray, and the massage mode was incredibly loudlike putting plastic in a blender, it then started to leak internally after 5mins.

so in short, it was a low pressure, loud, overpriced, biggest piece of junk that i have ever seen.

spend $20 on the similar modelmaybe then its worth it.

I agree with the other reviewers that have a problem with the quality of this expensive unit. When WaterPik spun off from Teledyne in 1999 the quality went straight downhill. (The quality actually started to go down in the late 1980''s, but this might have something to do with the spin off) This unit is not worth over $40.00.

I had a few of the 5-mode units in the past and have switched over to the model #JM-351 (3-mode) which goes for $9.00. It is much lighter and easier to handle, and will clog up just as fast as the $40.00 version.

Homedics Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier for Baby with Built-In Soundspa HUM-PED1It''s been 3 month of almost continuous use and I have only one complaint... if I run the unit on full blast all the time (I have it in my 200 sq.ft. bedroom now), I eventually find it sitting in a puddle of water. I believe this is due to condensation, meaning the air in the room has become so humid that the mist condensates back into water around the unit''s base instead of staying in the air. To combat this problem, I''ve turned the mist/humidity control down to halfway. I also placed the base on a Van Ness pet food mat: Van Ness Food Mat for Dogs and Cats that I bought at a local pet supply store for under $10, and I keep a wash cloth nearby to wipe up the drips when I lift the tank to refill it. The mat keeps the puddled water from ruining anything, if it develops again, which it hasn''t so far, because the lip on the mat keeps the water on the mat. These things seem to have worked, and (knocking on wood) so far I haven''t seen another puddle. I''ll keep the mat under it though anyway.

The humidity in the room is enough now that the static issues are gone and my skin and sinuses feel way better; I''m no longer so stuffy at night or dried out. I''m going to buy another one of these (and another pet food mat) for my office.

I have a couple of Venta-Sonic VS100 ultrasonic humidifiers in my house too. Both of those units are over 7 years old now and run pretty much full time in the winter as well. One unit sits in my living room and the other is in an upstairs hallway. Both of these locations are near the largest RETURN air vents for my HVAC system so the humidified air can also circulate throughout the house.

These units also do the same thing with water pooling underneath, but only when the humidity around the unit is high enough to make it condense, or I didn''t screw on the lid to the tank properly or I didn''t place the tank on the base properly. Both of those units are on waterproof mats too. I have also turned down the humidity level controls to help prevent the condensation, but lately it''s been very dry here in Colorado so I have to run them full blast.

I highly recommend everyone running ultrasonic humidifiers use some sort of waterproof catch mat under them, and keep a wash cloth nearby too. Make sure the mat has a lip all the way around the edge to prevent any pooling water from escaping.

As has been mentioned before, water will fall back on the machine if left on the highest setting for long enough. I have an air purifier and a regular fan moving air around my room 24/7, which is what prevents the moisture from coming back on the machine. If you put a fan near it, even on the lowest setting, I feel like you get the most out of this machine.

Ive been tru tons of humidifiers cheap and expensive. This surprisingly has turned out to be one of the best. I''ve had mine over 2 years. It''s easy to fill, no nasty mesh filters to buy, no special cleaning methods... It''s just plain simple to maintain and use. An added plus is the "soundspa" it has too and auto shut off and cool blue night light. These are perfect in kids rooms, even just the soundspa if you don''t need the humidifier portion.... But even put one in our room. The light is just enough to see in dark, the sound quality is actually better than some stand alone sound spas. I will warn you based on some reviews about the wetness.... Having it on full blast is only meant for a short period of time to get humidity in a room fast. It''s not meant to leave on full blast the entire time or wherever you have it sitting will be soaked.... If you need something super powerful or one you can run in that mode for extended periods, it should be for a larger room and bigger unit. Tthis is meant for a standard bedroom size room. So remember best to place a small towel underneath, but full blast for about 5-10 minutes then turn down to a bit lower than half way. More than enough for the standard room and succeeds at doing what is what meant to do.

Want Homedics Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier for Baby Discount?

We purchased this from another retailer because we needed it immediately when our daughter was sick. We chose this because it is super easy to clean, easy to use, and a good price. We have been using it for months now, almost every night, and we really like it. It definitely keeps our daughter''s room more humid, and her happier. The little sounds that it makes are nice to lull her to sleep.

EDIT:

Now that we have been using it for a long time(over a year), we have found that it is very easy to get too moist in a small room (like our daughter''s room). We just click it on and don''t turn it up. I like the idea that we could use it in the main rooms and turn it up, as needed.
