Newman''s Own Organic K-Cup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers

Green Mountain Coffee Newman''s Special Decaf, K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, Certified Organic, 24-CountWe''ve tried many different kcups but find that Newman''s Own-Decaf is our favorite. It is very smooth and great tasting.

consistently good, coffee is definite without being strong or hard on the stomach. As important the K-cup does not bust in the Kuerg like Timothy''s does! I usually make 16oz out of one K-cup

I''m really surprised that it''s just as good as the regular caffinated coffee I''ve been drinking for years. Being organic and water processed is what sold me..and I can tell the difference between the Newman''s and other regular decaf. Newman''s is the best, at least for me anyway. It may be slightly milder in strength than the Starbucks but it didn''t take me long to get used to it. It''s still a great flavor, less acid for sure and no caffeine. I''m a satisfied customer!

My physician has suggested that I try to use more decaf and less regular coffee. Indeed, I have experimented with a number of decaf products over the past several months. Some are good, some aren''t. Some have a nice coffee taste; others are pretty bland.

I have tried some of Newman''s Own K-cup flavors and have generally found the whole line pretty satisfying. This decaf is no exception. It has a nice coffee taste (it is labeled "extra bold). It isa organic, to the extent that that has value for the person wishing to try a cup out. For me, though, the key thing is that it has a good coffee taste and I like starting the day off with a decent cup.

So, if you''d like to trey out a decaf, this isn''t a bad starting point.

I think you have to compare it with other decaf brews, and I sometimes drink Folger''s Lively Colombian Decaf; both are very good. I think this one stands out for a smooth flavor with no aftertaste.

Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ

Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZI use this stuff for almost everything. Cleaning sinks, bathtubs, toilets, calphalon pans, stainless steel pans, my grill, stainless steel anything, silverware, the kitchen sink, and best of all is the glass in our shower. I have tried EVERYTHING to get the hard water spots off of our shower glass, but CLR and Lime Away didn''t do the job. I found this and BAM! With minimal scrubbing I was able to make my shower glass crystal clear. I''ve gotten so many hooked on this stuff and they keep telling me new uses for it.

UPDATE: (January 19th 2011) This stuff is still amazing, but be aware that this is an acid and can eat through things if left on too long or not cleaned. ALSO, this is an abrasive! DO NOT USE IT ON CHEAP CHROME PLATING as I used this on a cheap shower trinket to get the soap off of and the chrome began to crack, flake and the metal rusted (this goes back to it being a strong acid). ALSO, I''m a man who is not a big fan and do not condone the use of men using "Moisturizer". Using this stuff on bare hands can dry the hands out as it cleans them a bit too well. I tend to protect my delicate.. I mean manly hands with nitrile gloves. ALSO, do not leave the chemical on stainless too long. It will blotch it white if left on TOO long. My guess is that it eats at ferrous metals or possibly the chromium content.

We had a red stain in the kitchen sink. I went to Home Depot and grabbed this stuff because it was $1.79. I take it home and use it on the sink, it got the stain out. The next day I decided to use it on the tub. Keep in mind that the tub was from the 1920''s and it looked like it, it was gray in color. So I put a little BKF on the tub and started scrubbing. That''s when I got irritated with it because the gray on the tub turned to slime and started to come off and reveal the white of the porcelain. I hate cleaning the tub and usually put as minimal effort into cleaning it. But I knew that the tub would look awesome totally white again. I probably cleaned off scum from at least 40 years of tenants prior to us. This product rocks.

Here is a tip. I use it on my ceramic tile in the entire bathroom. The tip is to use a green scrubby pad and lightly wet it. Put the BKF on the pad and put it all over the tile. It will be slightly sudsy. Leave it on and let it dry till it looks like chalk all over your tile. Take a dry terrycloth towel and wipe it off. Your tile will look like a mirror!

Its funny how through creative marketing products that actually work like this one get lost. People end up buying less effective products because they smell nice. Then the younger generations get a hold of products like BKF and think its the greatest thing since sliced bred, only to find out that our grandparents have been using it for decades.

I live in Seattle WA. Since our waters are different from State to State, I thought I should mention that. I moved into this new house 5 years ago, and since then shower glass doors became dull and dim due to hard water stain. As we all know, cleaning the hard water stain from shower glass door is almost impossible! Like many, I have tried many, many cleaners: CLR, Lime-Away, Windex, Oxyclean, etc... But they did not remove hard water stains. Until I tried Bar Keepers Friend (BKF). Since it was less than two dollars, I thought I would give it a try. And wow!!! It works!! My shower glass door is clean and looks new! My wife was shocked!!!

But here is how you do it (steps 1-6 should take about 10-15mins):

1. Get a window scrubber that will clean tough stains (not sponges). I found one in Home Depot.

2. Wet the shower glass door with water.

3. Apply BKF directly to a wet glass scrubber.

4. Then apply it to shower glass door.

5. Scrub in a circular motion, then side to side and up and down.

6. Rinse the shower glass door thoroughly.

7. REPEAT the process (1-6) next 4 days.

Step 7 is important. You will not see the radical difference right away. I saw the difference in two days. But after four days, the shower glass door looks brand new. It is worth it!

BKF = less than $2.00

Scrubber = $4.00

A Joy of seeing the incredibly clean shower glass door = priceless

Well, OK, you can''t take a bath in it or use it on delicate surfaces like finished wood and nonstick cookware, but for just about any hard nonporous material, it''s the cleaner to reach for.

It''s the Fountain of Youth for your stainless steel cookware, removing rainbow heat marks and mineral discoloration with minimal elbow grease. Used with a lighter touch, it makes your heirloom Corning Ware original Pyroceram cookware sparkle like the day Mom bought it. Ditto for Pyrex and Anchor Hocking glass ovenware, as well as stoneware slow cookers. I use it to clean those little specks off the window in the oven door after a self-cleaning cycle. The window''s as clear as the day they delivered the stove.

If you''re a fan of unlined copper bowls for beating egg whites, you already know about tarnish. A couple minutes with some Bar Keeper''s Friend, and that copper bowl is ready for another batch of meringue or Belgian waffles.

OMG This stuff is great! I have some super expensive cookware and you can''t just clean it with anything. The manufacturer suggested to use white vinegar to remove spots and other such discolorations to keep it looking new. The vinegar didn''t work at all. I used BKF and what a difference it made. All I had to do was sprinkle a little on a moist surface, use a paper towel and work in circular motions forming a paste. After about 30 seconds I rinsed it off and it was like new! Every piece I have used it on now looks like new. I will always use BKF on my pots.

I also used it on my stainless steel sink, it removed scratches a roommate made by cutting something on the corner (instead of using a cutting board). And the sink has a wonderful shine to it. I haven''t gone much farther than the kitchen but I will venture in other areas of the home and outside. (This stuff is supposed to remove rust, I believe it will!)

CRL A-Maz Water Stain Remover - 14 Oz Container

CRL A-Maz Water Stain Remover - 14 Oz ContainerWhat follows is a story of hard-water deposit hell.

My wife and I recently rented a house in south Texas for a couple of months. The local water piped into the house was drawn from wells and was classic "hard" water. By the second month the clear glass shower door and walls were completely filmed over with hard water deposits. Not a problem I thought, and set about one morning to clean the shower glass. First I tried Windex, only to discover that it had no effect at all. Next I tried Lime-Away with a no-scratch pad, this too after several applications did little to remove the hard water deposits. Next I bought a lemon based glass cleaner at the local hardware store, no effect on the deposits.

At this point I had invested several hours laboring inside the shower trying to remove hard water deposits. Frustrated, I researched the web and user reviews on Amazon which said good things about CRL A-Maz Water Stain Remover''s ability to remove stubborn water stains, so, what the heck nothing has worked so far, I ordered a jar of CRL.

When the CRL package arrived and I read the directions that all that was required was to wipe CRL onto the hard water stains, wait a few minutes then wipe the glass clean, and that no rubber gloves were required I thought I had wasted more money because I refused to believe a paste that looked like silver polish and a light pad (supplied with the product)was going to cut through the mineral deposits on the glass in this shower. I was delighted to discover that I was dead wrong!

It took me about three applications(total of about an hour''s effort) and I used half the jar (big shower with three clear glass panels), but CRL cut through the mineral deposits and the the shower glass was restored to like new clean. I was elated with the performance of CRL and would recommend it to anyone facing a serious problem of hard water deposits.

Amazon offers CRL through ShowerDoorDirect who shipped the product promptly and asked for feedback on their service after the sale.

Finally, once again the information offered in Amazon product reviews served me well.

This product worked as well or better than anything else we have tried. We are on well water with high levels of silica. We have a water filter and softener but this does not remove silica. CLR A-maz works pretty well and we think that after two or three scrubbings all the stains will be gone. Also, this works very well on silver.

This product cleaned very bad hard water etching from my glass shower doors. It''s not caustic or smelly. It does require firm rubbing pressure. It also got chalky residue off the shower tile. It comes pre-mixed with a scrubber sponge included. I love it when a product actually does what it says it will.

I have worked construction for 41+ years and I have tried all of the tips, tricks and home remedies to clean water stains and film off of glass shower doors. Nothing worked.

I have often found that the silliest sounding remedies often work the best so I went so far as to try Bounce dryer sheets (which left the shower doors smelling sprintime fresh but did nothing for cleaning them) to WD-40 (which merely masks the water stains by saturating them with oil and results in you busting your butt in the shower because you were dumb enough to spray water displacement oil -the "WD" actually stands for "water displacement" --in an area that is designed to allow water to drain from it!!! Duh!!!).

This item is the ONLY thing that I have ever found that quickly and easily removes heavy water stains and spots from glass shower doors!!! All of the other suggestions you may read about -i.e. dryer sheets, WD-40, cleansers, CLR, etc. -are worthless.

THIS PRODUCT IS THE REAL DEAL !!!

I got this product from amazon yesterday. I did not have too much hope since my shower glass door has so much water stain for the past 14 years. I tried other products and nothing was working. I noticed many people have 5 stars rating and only 1 have a 1 star rating. I checked the 1 star rating comment and other people''s reply to it. I follow the comment to use the sponge comes from the product. It works. My glass door is shinning again. Of course, it does not change the door to complete clean. I may say it removes 90% of the stain in 10 minutes. I will try another time to remove all of them.

These CS-52 replacement filters work fine and are a good value; there''s no reason to pay full retail. The only oddity with this purchase is that the filter normally "snaps" into place to let you know it is installed correctly this one did not. It''s the correct model number and it still works fine (no problem with leaks) but I was a little frustrated when I could not get it to snap into place like previous filters.

PUR 2 Stage Water Pitcher Replacement Filter Save 16% Off

PUR CRF-950Z 2-Stage Water Pitcher Replacement Filter, 3-PackI''ve been using this filter for many years now and we feel good that PUR filters filter out more unhealthy stuff in the water than other brands do. However, the new design for this replacement filter doesn''t come with the red moving reminder (for you to know it''s time to change the filter) anymore. I don''t know the reason why PUR would give up such good design. Now they tell you to just change the filter after a certain time. I still think the reminder design is more accurate since it goes by how much water that''s gone through the filter, not by how many days.

I''m currently a college student living with 5 other guys and we use Brita filter at the apartment. When you cook with Brita filter, you can''t taste a thing, but when you just drink the water, it taste like tap/toilet water. It also leaves those black stuff (part of the filter) on the bottom of the container. Personally, that''s just weird and nasty, but maybe people like eating those filter-particles.

Back at home, my family use Pur water filter and I have to say, you can definitely taste the difference. I think that the water filtered by Pur taste like Fiji water. It''s awesome. Instead of buying those ridiculously-good-looking bottled Fiji water, I bought huge water containers and take water filtered from home to my school apartment and just drink it myself.

The only downside of Pur water filter is that it costs more than Brita filter. Being an Economics major, I calculated the cost of water per gallon (filtered). With each filter (Pur or Brita), it filters 40 gallons of water. Pur cost $24.99 for a 3-pack (Amazon.com), this means that it costs $.208 to filter a gallon of water (excluding the cost of water itself). Brita filter cost $15.99 for a 3-pack (Amazon.com), this means that it costs $.133 to filter a gallon of water (36% cheaper than Pur). Although it costs more, I still think it''s worth the money. I rather spend the extra $.075 per gallon of water than to drink toilet water.

I have been using the 950Z filters for the past 6 months or so with my PUR pitcher. These filters start to clog up (all of the water does not flog from the top reservoir to the bottom reservoir) after only 25-50% of the rated usage.

I was shocked when I saw that the new filter we bought from store didn''t had red indicator. We thought we bought inferior 2-stage instead of 3-stage. After hours of searching, we realized that our previous filter was CR 950 which is now discontinued by P&G and the new filter is CR 950Z which doesn''t have red indicator any longer. Both were 2-stage filters. The phone# for PUR is 1-800-PUR-LINE. According to 70+ reviews from frustrated customers on Amazon, P&G decided to remove red indicator because it was "inaccurate". However my guess is that they might want to simply reduce the cost. Other reviews suggest that 950Z isn''t certified for lead any longer (although package do says it does) however from NSF website it looks like PUR they never made broader claims. From same NSF website, however, it looks like 950z is certified for zinc reduction while 950 is not. Those who are opting for 950 instead of 950z should keep this in mind. There was another type called 950L which supposedly was the best of the best in line of the PUR filters (although 950 was labeled as "Ultimate" probably purely for marketing reason). I''m not able to find absolutely anyone selling 950L right now.

In any case, 950Z looks downgrade. My guess is that PUR is more and more leaning towards reducing prices to beat Brita and in the process compromise the quality. They will definitely snatch more consumers from Brita who usually asks for reasonable quality at lowest prices than the best quality at twice the price. So I tried to see if there is anything better on the market than these two brands that serves needs of more demanding consumers. One of the filters I found was 10-stage filter from New Wave Enviro. But this looks like fad because it is not certified by NSF (which is lot difficult than EPA) and it works off of faucet at same speed which can never be as good. Market is full of other bogus filter many of claiming to make "live water" and "hexagonal crystals". What a BS!

After hours of search and reading reviews, one excellent filter I found was from Crystal Quest. They have this 6-stage Filter Cartridge ULTRA RC-10 and its not only certified by NSF but they have even put their test results online (http://www.crystalquest.com/test1.htm)! Brita and PUR haven''t had courage for this yet. Also from the diversity of Crystal Quests''s offerings it looked to me that these guys are "water filtering" experts and knows their stuff. Some reviews on Yahoo Answer suggested that Brita/PUR have commodity filters design to satisfy average middle-class market but if you are willing to shell out more money and want best in the class then Crystal Quest is probably a way to go. One other thing that attracts me to them is they have "mini-coolers". I hate pitchers and I hate filling them up every now and then. I hate even more waiting for it to fill water. It''s just a mess when guests are in the town. The mini-coolers that can hold enough water for 2-3 days and nicely sits on the kitchen top is the best solution.

Want PUR 2 Stage Water Pitcher Replacement Filter Discount?

I purchased the "new model" Pur 2-stage filter without the U-shaped usage indicator. I was very interested in the "change" in design and how it affected usage. I use the Pur water pitcher in a very unusual manner that is NOT typical of most users. Firstly, I use a Premium 10-Stage water filter manufactured by Enviro-Products as a pre-filter for my little Pur 2-stage water pitcher! I only water run through the little Pur Water Pitcher because I think that the final product that I get tastes a little better that than when I don''t use it. It''s very subjective, but that''s how I feel!

I have run the old Pur Filters with the U-indicator on a daily basis for as long as a year without replacement. Obviously, I would not recommend this for anyone, but understand that it ONLY sees pure pre-purified water. After purchasing the "newly designed" Pur 2-stage filter I noticed that after approximately 60-days, water flow was being significantly reduced to a point where it was alarming to me. I couldn''t be a matter of the filter media being clogged because it ONLY sees perfectly clean water.

We''ll out comes my little Dremel cutting tool, and I carefully remove the top dome in a effort to determine the source of the problem. Low and behold the whole top section of the filter is crammed with a product that appears to be Cellulose fibers similar to what you would find in a single stage filtered cigarette. Anyway, Pur is using this cellulose type product as a "roughing filter" or strainer before the water reaches the lower filter media. The fiber, whatever it is, has swollen to the point where it will no longer past ANY WATER. How about that, a couple of months of use and the water filter is useless!

I further checked on the technical attributes of Cellulose fibers and discovered that they have a strong affinity for water and that they swell up when exposed to water and then shrink when allowed to dry out. I find it particularly interesting that Pur would choose to use a cellulose type filter as a roughing filter (and clogging agent) in front of the other media within their device while full well knowing that it would eventually choke off the water supply to the filter in a relatively short period of time and render it useless!

The only thing that''s left for you to do with your clogged filter is to go out and purchase another one that will also clog in a short period of time. I really feel sorry for the "poor Pur" people and all the new replacement filters that they keep selling to uninformed consumers. ie. "suckers"

Shameful, really shameful. Yes, I''ll place them on the "Wall of Shame".

One Star!

I''ve made modifications to my Pure 2-stage filter, but that''s another story!

The first thing I did was Google: Environmental Working Group, and checked out years of data on what is in my tap water. I was shocked and dismayed at how polluted it was with heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, and more. This was when I decided that the most important thing in life is good health, and without it, frankly, you can''t enjoy anything else in life, and when it''s gone, it''s gone for good.

A lot of those heavy metals and chemicals do damage to your body, and some accumulate over years, never leaving your body, causing harm throughout your life. It''s important to never consume them in the first place.

Hence, my search began for what the heck is the best way to filter water? I found three main methods: carbon filtration (this product), distillation, and military style reverse osmosis.

Distillation seemed like something right out of high-school chemistry. It''s easy and simple to do. What you need to remember though, is that distillation will in fact get rid of many things, like heavy metals and some organic compounds, that have boiling point temperatures above that of water; however, there''s a heck of a lot of compounds that have BP''s below water and will never be filtered out with distillation. That was the first strike against distillation. The other issue is that important trace elements (like Zn, Cu, Mg) will also get left behind. Distilled water then becomes "dead" water (mineral-less water). This "dead" water is so pure, that the H20 molecules have nothing to react with but the CO2 in the air around it. This causes the pH of the water to drop. This aciditity, coupled with low intake of bone-densifying minerals (water being the main source), causes bone loss, especially in women, to be accelerated to an extreme rate. Even taking vitamin/mineral pills will only slightly slow the damage. Hence, avoid distillation (not to mention the GREAT potential for distillation machines to be bacterial breeding grounds).

Military style reverse osmosis seemed like the next best thing. It will not only get rid of heavy metals like distillation, but will get rid of EVERYTHING (including radioactivity, if you get the high end models). Again, the "dead" water scenario creeps in to even a greater extent because reverse osmosis water can literally eat away at copper pipes in no time (you''ll find that a public water utility company found out the wrong way once). Imagine what it does in the long run with your body!? Another problem with reverse osmosis is the GREAT amount of waste water you''ll be generating (READ: lots of money lost). Even if you get a "waste-less" system, which send the "bad" water back through your piping ot be used to clean your clothes and dishes, well, that''s not much better is it? You''ll be bathing in concentrated arsenic water. But hey, at least you''ll save a few bucks.

So, the only other option was carbon filtration. And hence the long search for the best carbon filter began. I searched virtually every single possible company that is out there (big and small names). I can say without qualms that in terms of the number of different pollutants that can be removed, and certification for the removal of such pollutents, Multipure is the king. It gets rid of the gunk, leaving the important trace minerals. The only downside is the price. But consider it as a preventative health saving investment. I bought this item, and don''t regret it one bit. Clean, pure tasting water. Peace of mind. And no, I''m not a spokesperson for this company, just a happy customer.

Installation of this item isn''t the easiest (I''m no plumber), but about 1.5 hours and 2 sweatdrops later I got it done myself. One item broke during installation, but multipure sent a replacement part quickly with no questions asked (after paying that much that''s the least you''d expect)!

Oh, and one last thing. I got this same exact model, except with the capacity monitor (MP880EL). Now, the reason I got it is because they claim that by getting this model, the life of your filter will essentially double. I found this to be a bit odd once I did get it installed. Contacted the company and never got a satisfactory response.

Think about it this way. All you''re doing, is installing an electronic device that measure how much water has been passed through the filter. If the filter life is rated at X gallons, then how is a measuring device going to cause the filter to be able to last 2X gallons? It makes no sense! Perhaps it''s just a marketing ploy to get you to buy something that probably cost them no more than $10. If I were you, I''d just get this cheaper model, and be conservative and change the filter as per the instructed X gallons. You''ll note, however, in their certificates, that their removal percentage of contaminants is rated at much more than X gallons, hence you''d theoretically be safe at using it for 2X gallons and achieve the same filtration percentage.

Disclaimer: Don''t follow my advice, I know nothing. Do your own research before buying anything.

The filter was relatively easy to install. I really like the fact that the canister is stainless steel. We had been using an Amway plastic canister filter that started leaking because I think it got too hot and warped from being under the sink and near the dishwasher. The only negative I can think of is the plastic fittings going in and coming out are 1/4 inch instead of 3/8 inch. Apparently they just changed to 1/4 inch, I''m not sure why. The dispenser/spout seems better than what you would buy at a hardware store. But if you ever change it out, you will have to adapt a 1/4" to the standard 3/8" that most dispensers have. This seems to be a good product. Water tastes great and it will be easy to change out the filter.

Sprite Showers SL2-CM-R Slim Line Shower Filter Water Filtration

Sprite Showers SL2-CM-R Slim Line Shower Filter Water FiltrationWe have purchased two of these in less than 14 months. They do a great job--until they break. The first one lasted about 9 months or so and the second one broke this past week about 3-4 months after it was purchased. Both of them broke the same way. It sounded like something popped when the water was turned on and they started spraying water from the unit.

I bought this filter about a year ago. It was easy to install and I dind''t notice any decrease in water pressure. I''m sure it makes the water cleaner, etc., as it''s supposed to. However, when it was time to replace the filter cartridge inside (every six months), I had a heck of a time opening it up. It took me a long time and a lot of trying. I finally got it unscrewed and put in the cartridge. Now it''s time for another replacement, and I can''t for the life of me get this thing open! I don''t know what the deal is. I tried everything and I am giving up. I''m throwing it away. I have an extra filter if anyone wants to make me an offer. LOL.

I have had several of these and they work well, are easy to install and don''t leak. However, they sell replacement filters for them, but good luck ever trying to unscrew them to replace the filter. I''ve tried boiling, using WD40, multiple wrenches, nothing works. The surface is so smooth that there isn''t any way to get a good grasp on it to turn it with any force. They need to put a tiny slot that you can get a wrench or other tool through to get leverage to turn it. They are about $18 a piece, the filters are $10 at the big hardware stores. Luckily, I only have to replace them every 6 months.

The product was easy to install, but not easy to remove the filter when it is time for replacement. It appears to filter water well, but you pretty use it like a disposable product, in which case, it becomes quite expensive. I would not recommend the product unless the manufacturer comes out with a new model that is more user friendly.

I have always been completely sold on the Clear2o water pitcher having tried all other faucet/pitcher water filters. The only problem I had with the Clear2o was the filling part...the hose from pitcher was too short and made the attaching to faucet awkward. But then they came out with the hose extender and the pitcher is perfect!!! The hose is long enough to fill your coffee pot (IF the appliance sits fairly close to your sink like mine does) and refill the pitcher afterwards without unhooking. You can have a sink full of dishes and still refill pitcher, use the water from it, and refill again without having to clear out your sink. I use filtered water for ALL cooking, making tea, coffee, etc. I even give my pets filtered water twice daily because our city water is so bad here. The filters last a lot longer than anyone can imagine, and they are not that expensive as compared to oter products. With this hose extender the Clear2o is a win-win situation if you are wanting/needing a water filter pitcher.

This extender is indispensable and should be standard on the Clear2o water purification pitcher. It could use 3 or 4 more inches itself, but I love it.

After seeing several reviews of the Clear2O water filter system that commented about the hose on the pitcher being too short, I decided to order the inexpensive hose extender. The extender is about 2 feet long and definitely overcomes the problems sited in the other reviews. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that the attachment mechanism is not quite as smooth operating as I would like. But the extender is inexpensive and completely effective.

Oreck Steam-It® Steam Wand Save 23% Off

Oreck Steam-It® Steam WandThough I appreciate the two previous reviewers giving so much detail, I truly believe they exaggerate the difficulties of using this product.

Overall, this is a "great" product. You will pay a little more because it is an Oreck, but quality construction, reliability, and the fact Oreck stands behind their products make the extra few dollars worth it.

My reason for purchasing a steam cleaner was to clean stone and tile floors, "especially" the grout. Frankly, this unit does such an amazing job with this, if it did nothing else well, I would still be happy. I will no longer have to waste time and money on "very" expensive grout cleaners and sealers that do not work. Trust me, the Oreck get''s grout and tile as clean as the day you had them installed. I have used it on shower glass, the marble in the shower, and a stovetop with great success. My hardwood floors look great, and like my stone and tile, I will never have to buy expensive floor cleaners again.

The two micro-fiber cloths provided could definitely be larger, not sure what Oreck was thinking there. However, the cleaner is designed to use any micro-fiber cloth, so you can replace them anytime you like without having to buy them from Oreck. The clip system with the smaller cloths can be a bit of a challenge, but not so bad once you get the hang of it. Again, you can buy larger cloths at the local Walmart if they bother you that much.

When fully filled with water, the unit can be heavy for some if trying to do a job above the head, or at the shoulders, (yes you can put it above your head without it leaking). However, the easy solution is don''t fill it all the way when doing these type of jobs.

PROS:

Great construction. Large tank, and comes to steam quick.

No expensive cleaners. No chemicals.

Cleans tile and grout making it look like new. Hardwood floors shine!

CONS:

Supplied cloths small, and don''t work "great" with clips.

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Oreck fan. I think that they make quality products that do what they say they do. However, I can''t say that this product measures up. They are on the right track but have several details to work out yet. I already own a Shark steam mop but find the handle to be a little short (I am tall) and it doesn''t hold enough water to do my whole kitchen area with one fill. I was quite excited to hear that Oreck had a steam mop. I went to the Oreck store and got a demo. I commented then that the ''pad'' was loose and coming off while he mopped, and that the head of the mop was being uncooperative during the carpet refresh demo. He made excuses for all so I bought the steam mop. The mop holds about a gallon of water, and has a very tall handle and a long cord. All good things. The quality and construction are excellent. However, the first thing you notice is that it weighs more than your vaccuum. The pad is actually a piece of cotton duck fabric about a foot square with a strip of terry cloth like fabric down the center. Picture a baby diaper from 20 years ago. You lay that on the floor and use those yellow tabs in the picture to pinch the loose ends of the cloth under the yellow tab. I began to mop and noticed right away that the steam production is fast and strong, good, but the mop is very very hard to push. It is heavy and awkward to move and now I know why the salesman spent so much time showing me the shoulder movement I should use to push the mop back and fowards. The forward motion caused everything I picked up with the mop to be pushed into a line of bits and fuzz on the floor so I tried to turn the mop and capture the fuzzy stuff. Immediately the pad came unclipped. I repositioned the pad and tried again. Again the pad came off. I tried to mop around the bathroom toilet, pulling it longways along the side of the toilet, the pad came off. Each time I pulled the mop towards myself, the head of the mop leaves the floor, tilting on its back edge and drags back to me. When I push forward, it flattens out again. The mop handle stores all the water and electronics and weighs close to 10 lbs, the mop head on the other hand is a lightweight hollow piece of plastic. The design of the head is bad because it can''t compete with the weight of that handle and because it is like a box, not a flat pad holder. I could not mop under the water shut off valves behind the toilet because the head is too tall and boxxy, nor under the kitchen cupboard kickspace nor under the door backstops along the molding, all because of the height of the head. Each of these places had to be done separately without the steam mop. Lots of rework that day and lots of frustration. It has a snap on piece for the head that lets it glide on carpet so I tried that as well. Like what I saw in the store demo, each stroke out was great, each stroke back found the head flipping up on its back and bouncing back or dragging back towards me. I really can''t imagine that the tester of this product actually tried mopping or steaming with it before it was release to market. And yes, I tried bending down lower, changing my angle, going faster, slower, none of it helped. It has 2 rocker switches on the handle covered by a rubbery plastic box. One controls power, the other steam. After leaving the mop for several hours, I came back to find that the power\preheat switch light was out, but that the mop was hot. The switch wasnt fully off, just looked like it. Because of the rubbery box around the switches, it is hard to tell if a switch is completely clicked in one direction or the other and obviously the led on the switch isn''t so sure either. Thats a fire hazard in my book. I have boxed this Oreck back up, first thing I have ever returned to Oreck, but it is going back and when they come out with a new improved model, I will give that a try. For now, I really don''t think this design is ready for public consumption, too many engineering issues to work out.

The good:

Great construction, holds nearly a gallon of water, produces really good steam really fast, long cord.

The bad:

The water weighs far to much, handle pushes down so hard it makes the head flip up on every backstroke

The power switches are difficult

It is too heavy and awkward to be used as a window washer or steam cleaner as shown in the commercials. Imagine hoisting your heavy full size vacuum up to your windows or stove to clean with it.

The pad is useless because nothing sticks to it, it just collects anything it finds and leaves it at the end of your stroke, it needs to be more like the shark pad, thick, soft and absorbant.

The design of the yellow pad pinchers is rediculous, they don''t keep the pad in place if you turn the mop head even a little the pad comes off immediately. They are similar to a chip clip and are trying to hold a wet cotton cloth under pressure while moving. Not happening.

The head to too tall, can''t mop under anything normal, and it is too light to stay positioned on the floor when fighting with the weight of the handle.

I''ve had this product a few days and used it on the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor, the bathroom sinks, the shower stall, the toilet, and a plastic step stool in the kitchen. So far, so good. I read all the negative comments and was sort of afraid to try this product. However, with a 30-day return policy, I figured I might as well give it a try.

The Steam-It holds a good amount of water, produces the appropriate amount of steam, and is not too heavy when lifting the item above your head.

It could use a longer and lighter cord. (This heavy cord makes me wonder how much electricity this mop really uses--must be a lot!) This item needs more pads included. When cleaning dirty surfaces, or expecting to do more than one item or room a day, two pads will not last any amount of time. I bought some microfiber cloths at another retailer to have enough for my cleaning projects. They worked okay, but I''d rather have more pads. The pads also shrink significantly, even when washed according to the directions. This makes the pads hard to clip onto the mop head.

When I cleaned the shower track in the bathroom, (as did a previous poster), I found the Steam-It effectively loosened the grime and all I had to do was wipe it away. I think the other poster was disappointed that the dirt didn''t disappear without wiping. That is not what a steam mop will do. The same applies with a kitchen floor. I am not sure what "line of dirt" people are getting. Do they sweep or vacuum the floor prior to steam mopping? That should take care of most dirt particles and "fuzzies" on the floor. Steam mopping should occur after that.

Cleaning the interior of the shower stall doors was a challenge. This is a small space so getting the angle of the steam mop inside the shower took some time. I still wasn''t happy with the angles I ended up getting, but I will give it another try.

Oreck should make a smaller, hand-held complementary product that is more portable for countertop use and use where the steam mop won''t fit.

Like I said, I''m only a few days and a few projects in so far...but, so far, so good. Yes, there are improvements that need to be made, but it''s an okay product for now.

I don''t know what users expect but you first need to understand the premise of a "Steam Mop." It creates steam and the pad picks up the dirt that the steam breaks down. The steam is the cleaning agent and the pad is ONLY designed to pick up the grime. If you are looking for a Steam Floor Cleaner, this works much better than the Shark since you can do a concentrated grout cleaning first and then mop the floor. I have used both and in my opinion, this is worth the extra $100 dollars. It IS that much better.

As far as the comments about being unable to push it or the pad falling off-I have not had either issue. I like a lot of steam which leaves the floor slightly wet however with the ceiling fan on, the floor dries in under 1 minute. A higher steam setting makes it easier to push too.

What this is NOT:

1. It is not a vacuum so the floors need to be free of loose dirt therefore you need to vacuum first

2. It is not a standard mop or spray cleaner mop. This does not use soap/chemical based cleaners which make them easier to push.

What makes this better than other steam mops:

1. ADJUSTABLE STEAM KNOB: You can control the amount of steam. The steam control knob really adjust the steam from a little to a LOT. When mopping the floor, if you put it low, you will almost see no moisture but put it high and you will see wetness on the floor when done (but it dries very fast in my opinion-faster than traditional mopping).

2. VERSATILITY: You can hold it upside down and steam clean your grout in the bath tub or shower--this is a BIG PLUS to me.

3. GROUT CLEANING: The grout attachment REALLY works. Using the Oreck Tile/Grout concentrated spray, I cleaned my floor tile grout first and then switched to the mop attachment and my floor looks EXCELLENT.

4. You can clean counters, etc... but it is NOT light when filled. You need to be strong enough to use it for those applications. It is not "ideal" for counters but it will work. A cannister type steam cleaner would be better for that.

If you are on the fence, buy it and use it. If you don''t like it, Oreck will take it back and give you 100% refund so what do you have to lose. That was the reason I tried it but now I am definitely keeping mine. I love it!!!

When my original Shark steam mop died after about 2 years, I purchased the Oreck. (I already had both one of their vacuums and the orbiter both of which I love). The Steam-It definitely does a better job on my floors than the shark did. I have a lot of ceramic tile. In the kitchen if there were any dried spills, I would need to go over them several times with the Shark and pump the handle for more steam. The Oreck does it in one pass. The steam appears to be much hotter. I also like the fact that I can use my own microfiber cloths. I have a big bag of them from Sam''s so I''ll never run out. It also holds a lot of water I only fill it halfway now which is still enough to do all my floors. I have also tried it on the granite countertops and though I won''t say it''s not awkward, it did do a nice job. As far as hard to push, I have not had any problems and I''m neither young nor particularly strong

Electrolux Ultra Silencer Deep Clean Canister Vacuum Save 40% Off

Electrolux Ultra Silencer Deep Clean Canister VacuumI was in the market for a new vacuum. I had been buying cheap 60$ eurekas, that did the job on our 650 square foot apartment. The third one broke and decided it was time to just get a "good" vacuum. My family in the past had Electrolux and never ever had problems so I did a lot of research. Dyson has great marketing but when you get down to it they''re just too expensive and for what?

I did a lot of amazon research and online research about which Electrolux to get, as there are so many. This one had all the best qualities for the price that I was willing to spend. I was twisting with anticipation for it to come and when it did I haven''t stopped using it since. It is by far THE QUIETEST vacuum EVER. A friend was watching tv while I was vacuuming and there was no need to turn up the volume in the tv. The suction is outrageous! And the attachments all seem to be exactly what I need. The replacement parts like bags and filters are a little expensive, but... You get what you pay for. I will never not have an Electrolux in the future. I couldn''t be happier.

I bought the Ultra-Silencer DeepClean Electrolux a couple of weeks ago and have used it several times. It most ways it seems fine, but the location of the control buttons is driving me crazy. I keep unknowingly pressing the button that reduces the air suction, only to find out later on that my floor isn''t getting very clean. It keeps happening.

Pros: It is really very quiet; I can very easily listen to a podcast on my iTouch while I vacuum. It''s also quite light and easy to move around. I haven''t had it long enough to rate its durability.

Cons: The three buttons to control the vacuum are located on the handle you grasp at the top of the wand, and I have so far found it impossible not to frequently hit them accidentally as I vacuum. Two of these control power to the vacuum itself and to the carpet brush, so at least if you hit those, you''ll know you did so. But the third one controls the suction power, and when I accidentally hit it, which is often, it''s not immediately obvious that I did so. The motor gets a little quieter when it switches to low power, but it''s pretty quiet even at high power, so I don''t hear the change, even if I''m not listening to music or a podcast at the time. I just notice later on that it hasn''t been sucking up dirt very well, and can then see by the display on the canister that I must have, once again, accidentally lowered the power. So I have to try to guess how much of what I just vacuumed I need to re-clean, once again being super careul to try not to hit that button yet again.

Other than that, this vaccuum seems pretty good. But I''m thinking of returning it just because of this silly, badly-located power-level button, unless I can find some way of disabling it.

PS Here''s an addendum from a couple of weeks later:

After using this vacuum a couple more times, I find that I''m accidentally hitting the control buttons on the wand much less, only a few times per vacuuming session. So this does not seem to be as big a problem as I had originally thought. I think Electrolux could improve the design by making the buttons recessed, so it wouldn''t be so easy to hit them accidentally. But overall, I think it''s a pretty good vacuum, and I plan to keep it. It''s wonderfully quiet, it cleans very well, the sturdy handle on top is easy to grab when necessary, and it just seems to work well. Now I would probably give it 4 stars, not the 2 stars I gave it originally.

Buy Electrolux Ultra Silencer Deep Clean Canister Vacuum Now

I bought the Ultra Silencer Deep Clean vacuum from Amazon because I didn''t care for the green color Ultra Silencer from Lowes wanted the silver/steel look model and found this one on Amazon. It''s an extremely quiet vacuum, with excellent cleaning ability. I like the high quality attachments and let''s face it if you buy a canister vacuum it''s because you WANT to use the attachments, so the quality of the tools is important. The bare floor tool is extra wide, so it cleans a very large area of bare floor at one time. The bags hold a surprising amount of dirt their size may seem small but they hold a very large amount of dirt before the indicator tells you to change the bag. Electrolux today isn''t the same "Electrolux" our mother''s used to buy from the door to door salesmen. Electrolux is now a part of Eureka. I guess it''s their high end models. This machine is a great example of a vacuum that''s worth the money. Everything snaps together easily, the power nozzle has a lifetime belt, and the machine will tell you when to change filters and bags. What''s not to love?

Like everyone else, my mother & grandmother had an Electrolux so I thought I would try one.

Overall its a good (not great) vacuum with some design flaws that make me question if this product was ever field tested.

This vacuum was surely designed by someone who never vacuumed before.

Strengths

1). Electrolux name

2). Overall suction power.

3). Bare floor attachment

4). Lightweight, compact

5). Powerhead swivel is a nice feature, but needs more tensions. Tends to "flop" around and takes getting used to.

6). Telescoping handle.

7). Hose length

Weakness

1). Crevice attachment is a joke and should be an embarrassment to the entire company (enough said there)

2). Hose is extremely rigid plastic and does not unkink or twist easily.

3). Hose connects to canister straight up from the top. This causes the canister to not easily follow and tip over quite frequently. The hose should extend from the canister at 90 degrees for easier follow

4). Canister does not allow for carrying of attachments.

5). Power cord could be 5-10 feet longer.

6). Brush attachment is adequate at best. Not like the Electrolux attachments of old.

If your doing a big room or bare floors, I think this vacuum works great and you should buy it.

If your moving around a lot, going around corners, into different room, etc., then you might want to reconsider your purchase based on the moveability of this device.

It''s hard to enjoy the cleaning power of this vacuum while struggling with the unit. It does clean quite well as far as suction and picking up dirt and dust.

I bought this for the reduced noise feature. I should have returned it but didn''t realize all of its problems until I had used it a few months. Here are the drawbacks I have experienced:

1. The power head is noisy, even if the canister itself is not. The hose is not very flexible and is unwieldy. Once it is curled or turned another direction, you have to fight it to aim the wand. Anyone of a small build or with diminished muscle capacity would really struggle with it, whereas I just find it annoying.

2. The carpet powerhead is also not designed very well. It does have level adjustment for different pile carpet, but when you pull it backwards, or toward you, the power head tips forward at the front and goes as close to the carpet as the lowest setting anyway, thus sucking up rugs unless they are nailed down. You can compensate for this by remembering to always put pressure down to hold the rear of the power head down toward the floor to keep the front of the powerhead from dipping down; that''s a nuisance.

3. The bag full indicator light has never once come on. I checked on the bag once and found it so full it was like a brick. This had caused the unit to overheat, cut out power intermittently to the power head, and start to emit a bad stale smell.

4. It emits a bad stale smell even before the bag is full or over-full. I have used the low odor bags and that doesn''t help.

5. The manufacturer (not the original Electrolux company at all, but the Eureka vacuum company using the name as a re-brand), will only offer to have it looked at at a service center. I did. They could find nothing wrong.

6. The floor attachment bristles get full of lint and fuzz very quickly. It requires frequent cleaning off during trying to use it to clean!

7. The wand handle is poorly designed. It is a very rigid curved design that does not allow much flexibility for getting straight into small areas (and if you do, the attachments might fall off in a small crevice as you try to remove the thing from a tight spot). The ''on board'' attachments that sort of clip in under where you hold the handle like to fall off a lot.

8. Lastly, the on/off and suction adjustment buttons are very sensitive and so close to where you hold the handle of the wand that you end up turning off the vacuum by accident a lot. Ironically, the same buttons can be difficult to press just right to get the thing to turn on or change power levels.

I''m stuck with this thing until I decide to go get a Meile vacuum. I should have know that was a better choice. Spending the extra few dollars on that brand would have saved me wasting a lot on the ''Electrolux''.

Mr. Coffee GTF2-1 Basket-Style Gold Tone Permanent FilterThis makes delicious coffee. I was skeptical that I would have plasticy or metallic tasting coffee with a metal basket, but my coffee has never had such a warm woody taste since I started using the basket. cleaning is a little hard since I have to spray all the coffee out of it with the faucet hose, but it is worth the landfull space for me to spray a little bit. also keeps from filling my valuable cabinet space with a huge box of filters, and not to mention the hassle of separating them every time I want a fresh pot!

this filter is magnificent, and much better than the cheaper ones which my friends have gotten and had metallic tasting coffee.

This definitely improves the taste of the coffee. I''ve always heard that traditional filters suck up some of the flavoring oils from the coffee, but after trying this I am convinced. I have a 10-cup Mr Coffee, and it fits perfectly -almost as if this filter were made for it.

The service was good, prompt and communication was also good about the shipping. The filter works well. we were hoping for a filter that had mesh on the bottom of the filter as well as the sides. We couldn''t tell from the photo if that was the case. The filter does have a solid plastic bottom so we were a bit disappointed. The filter does fit our Mr Coffee coffee maker and that is the important piece. We are satisfied with our purchase though not delighted.

This filter came free with my new Mr. Coffee. Walmart sells coffee filters 100/$1, that''s about 500 to 1000 paper filters depending on your final cost for this filter. I''ve used a similar one before. It can last over 5 years, and it usually dies when the mesh cracks from age and repeated use.

Pros

It makes a slightly stronger brew because the filter allows more oils through and in the longer run, one saves buying paper filters. Its greener to use it, since its less paper and trash for land fills.

It has a flat plastic sealed bottom, so the coffee is forced to strain to the sides, slowing the transit of hot water through the grinds like that of a paper filter.

Cons

Cleaning. You''ll use water, time and effort rinsing this filter, after tapping out the grinds.

Less grinds. The filter is smaller than the removable cup so it has less volume as a paper filter. Using 4 measures of ground coffee cause my grinds to overflow past the plastic filter and into my coffee pot.

To clean it easier, I leave the grounds in the filter to dry out. I tap the inverted filter directly on a trash can or plate, and nearly all comes off as a lump or flakes out. You can wash off the rest. Its not any more a problem that cleaning a french press.

This is a great filter! I''ve had it for about a year, and use it at least once a day. I wash it by hand most days (which is very easy to do) and wash it in the dishwasher about once every two weeks, and it''s still in great condition. The mesh basket drips well, and yet I have never had a coffee ground in my cup since using this.

My wife bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter because the GXRTQR filter was no longer available and the box said it would work as a replacement. As far as I can tell, it will only work if your old tubing is 1/4 in. Mine is 1/2 in. There were adapter fittings for the GXRTQR so I never had any problem with replacing it. I tried to do an install, thinking that the stub of a tube inside the fitting would marry, but it was too short, so I had to put the old filter back on. I have to either replace the tubes on fridge & at the faucet, or find another filter.

I bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter as a replacement to the GXRTQR filter. What a huge mistake! The old filter had a very secure connection. The new GXRTDR has a "quick-connect" style connector. (Ideally, you cut the tube and just stick it in the connector, and it automatically locks in-place. The connector is a little like a "Chinese Finger Trap" where you stick your fingers in a woven bamboo cylinder and your fingers won''t come out until you compress the weave.) Anyway, I''ve used quick-connectors at my work for many years and never had a problem, but I had never used this brand. I pulled the fridge out of its niche and followed the directions. I cut out my old filter hardware and installed the new filter. I let the water run to clear the initial carbon particles, and then I checked for leakage and the connectors seemed to be sealed. I put the refrigerator back in the niche and sometime that night, it sprung a leak at the internal o-ring seal. My kitchen is on the second floor, so the water leaked through the floor soaking the drywall ceiling in the bedroom below. It was a huge expensive, time-wasting mess.

Like the above poster I got this filter to replace my previous GXRTQR inline filter.

My only complaint is that the outlet port for the water tubing was a pain in the neck to get to go up flush against the area it is supposed to. which resulted in water spurting everywhere. however once I got that in it worked fine.

After years of buying those expensive GE filter cartridges $35 to $50, that the manufacturer hooks you into purchasing when they sell you their refrigerator, I put the blank plug that comes with the refrigerator in and installed this easy to install filter on the supply line in the rear of the refrigerator. Works great, and saves lots of money. I will definitely purchase more of these in the future. When initially installed the first gallon of water comes out black from the charcoal but once its flushed, it is a great filtration system.

We bought this system on the advice of our plumber. Originally we had meant to install an RO system. The plumber, however, clued us in that all RO systems waste 3 8 gallons of water a day as they continually filter, and what doesn''t get used, dumps back into the waste water line. Not good for those of us who are trying to conserve water for environmental or financial reasons. This filter system is the same as the Everpure 300L but cost about $100 less. All Everpure systems can use any of their filters, so you can still use an Everpure 300L filter with the 200L system. Thank the plumber!

Toastmaster TEK17W 1.7 L Kettle Save 33% Off

Toastmaster TEK17W 1.7 L KettleThis replaced a previous electric kettle that we owned. The Toastmaster kettle has an attractive form, great safety features (like auto shut-off when the water boils or when it''s dry), and boils quickly. We compared the amount of time needed to boil a liter of water between the two kettles, and the Toastmaster was boiling while the other one was still heating up! Other kettles cost twice as much or more, but you won''t find a better value.

I bought this kettle because my sister had one and I was impressed how fast it would brew. I have used it for about a year and a half. Recently, I noticed a wet spot around the base and saw that the pot has a slow leak at the seam. My sister has encountered the same problem. They may have a 1 year warranty, but its useless if the leak occurs after that period. Its too bad, because I really liked this pot.

We love this kettle. Easy to use. Pretty quick to reach a full boil. Great for my mom who is almost blind and needs straight-forward usability. We love it; albeit, we use it so much, we need to replace it before the 2-year mark. We are still in love with this kettle.

If you only use this kettle to decorate your counter and use it infrequently, it might provide years of so-called "service". Otherwise, expect the worst. I thought I loved this kettle. Large capacity, fast, auto shut-off. Used it at least once a day for more than a year. But then yesterday, there was water everywhere. As a mechanical engineer who enjoys repairing a wide variety of devices, I was quick to disassemble this appliance and attempt some magic. What a disappointment to discover that the upper white plastic jug is pressed and crimped onto the metal base. I was shocked at how easily the two halves separated. No way to correct the leak or securely reassemble.

I''ve never used an electric kettle before until now, and I chose this one because it held more water for serving more than 2 cups (or mugs) of tea at a time; I particularly liked this because I could keep it filled with guests coming in, and it heats almost instantly. For me this was one of the most rewarding purchases I have ever made. The price is right, the white color is great, and the entire product as a whole is exceptional value. It''s lightweight, easy to clean, very attractive and sturdy at the same time, easy to lift and pour, sits perfectly on the base, and fits perfectly on my counter top! But the real joy was having my very first cup of tea from it. It boils in just under 2 minutes or less, depending on how full the kettle is. It has never spilled or dripped either just lift it and pour (not rushing the process) and you will find a very smooth flow with great ease. I would highly recommend this kettle to anyone looking to either have something convenient for guests (refills right away and boils in less time than the stove top), or just to switch off from using the stove every now and then, and relax with a one-push on/off switch that shuts off automatically when it''s done. No more running for the whistle! I can''t say enough good things about this kettle I would buy this again for myself and give it as a gift! You won''t be disappointed! :)

Amway A101, E84, E-85, E-9225 Compatible Fit Replacement Water Filter

Amway A101, E84, E-85, E-9225 Compatible Fit Replacement Water FilterWell....Amazon needs to provide more information because even though it is marketed as Amway compatible it is not the same as Amway''s.

First the filtering surface area of the filter is about ½ of the real Amway filter. Also, the filter is good for 6 months where the Amway filter is good for a year. Last, there is no documentation or any paper indentifying who makes the filter, how does it compare to Amway''s, and who assumes product liability. I was given the name of the company that makes it but there is nothing in the filter that identifies the manufacturer. For all you can tell, it could have been made in someone''s garage in China.

In all, you pay ½ the price but you get what you pay for: ½ the time, ½ the filter surface area and no company willing to assume product liability.

Won''t buy it again.

This product is O.K. as a replacement but a bit smaller than an actual Amway brand filter.

I will probably spend the little more and buy an actual Amway softener next time.

The water tastes great though. I''m just not sure it takes out all the impurities Amway claims theirs does.

Not terribly dissapointed though. As I said...it''s O.K.

I purchased this filter as a replacvement for an Amway filter. Price seemed attracted. No place in the data did it indicate it was an undersize replacement. It performs poorly.

Common sense will tell you

The beep you get is to "remind" you to replace the filter not a true test of the filter efficiency.

It is the Max Time length specified before changing, not gallons filtered.

Replace the battery and you''ll get another year of service, may or may not be efficient.

1250 or 1000 gallons is the test and an estimate usage in a year.

No Filtration Specs to compare gives me Warning.

May give you good tasting water but the reason I bought this filter is to FILTER OUT THE BAD STUFF!

doe''s it do that ?

I guess my only option is to order one to read the specs & compare the ANSI/NSF Standards.

The size is smaller than the original filter, but works well (so far).
