Reverse Osmosis Water Storage Tank 14 Gallon

I moved my tank and the five stage RO system to the garage and ran the tubing up into the attic (insulated) and down a wall to the back of the sink. We gained back a whole double door under counter space that we so badly needed. I now have a huge supply of pure water 4ppm TDS and NO NOISE. The RO waste goes into the water softener system with a Zero waste recovery system. This tank is priced right, shipped well in good packaging for very little, wasn''t available on Prime for this particular unit. It was very simple to install and had good hardware provided. Another teriffic Amazon Vendor and purchase without leaving my computer desk.

Most RO systems come with a dinky 2.5 gal tank (remember its about 40 percent air inside to pressureize the output to your faucet thats why there is a scraeder valve on the side to increase or decrease the air pressure)

With the 14 gallon tank, its best to first do a complete filter change (see my reviews for complete filter kits) if you want to add a UV sterilizer now is the time to do it. With the uv light kit and clean filters and you have flushed out your system to a clean status thats when you want to swap tanks (use 2 wraps of teflon thread tape on the threads to make sure it does not leak.

Unlike most system tanks, the entry exit port is on the bottom BE absolutely certain that you route your hose through the cutouts in the stand BEFORE you connect the tank (you may need a longer pipe to the tank than before buy 1/4" tubing (pvc) at the hardware store for this. Now you have to wait for the tank to fill. Even though the waste line is running fast, there is only a trickle going into the tank. It will take hours (possibly 10 hours depending on your ro system) to fill and stop with the 14 gallons. My advise is that you start out with the tank upside down with extra tubing and make sure when it shuts off filling there are no leaks. Now flip the tank over and neatly coil the tubing under it inside the base unit. Be sure everyting is dry!

This is a clean and neat tank but you will need to find space for it and its base. I installed a valve to the tank (none come with it and you have to flush the whole 14 gallons if there is a leak problem to depressurize it or else instal a valve off the tank by 6 inches hide the valve under the stand. I also put a T with another valve that goes to a hose bib to 1/4" pvc tubing adapter. Because my pressure washer uses VERY LITTLE water, I have it setup to feed from the adapter on the RO system and use the 3ppm ultrapure water to wash my car with 5 gallons and no dryoff since there are no deposits in the water to leave spots.

High pressure / low volume is how pressure washers clean. If you see the truck mounted cleaning systems they have a 2 chamber deionized water production system that removes all minerals from the wash water the best part is not having to dry off your car. Even after washing the car with RO water you get great results just like the dealerships have, except it is installed in your house. I found a kit of parts I needed that was twenty bucks at the hardware store used it to connect everything up and valve off the tank when not in use.

Just for reference a good RO system will output 3ppm mineral content in total dissolved solids. The street water can be 250-500 ppm. Distilled water is 1ppm typically. Soft water is usually ion EXCHANGE where calcium ions are swapped for sodium ions which So you are washing your car with high pressure and using almost distilled quality water. The other use it gets is filling my dog''s 1 gallon water dish. My dog has a strong preference for r.o. water quality because our city water here is terrible. She also likes to drink from the stream of RO water at the end of the 25 foot tube (I put a 1/4 turn ball valve on the adapter so I could shut off the RO flow either at the tank or at the end of the tubing which terminates in a male hose valve)

With 14 gallons of pre-made RO water waiting to be used you can fill gallon jugs with ease, fill the dog''s gallon drinking dish, and still have water left over for the refrigerator ice maker or use the majority of the 14 gallons to wash the car the RO system will take about 6 hours to regenerate and then shutoff if it is "ok" to begin with (clean filters, no damage to the ro membrane etc). RO membranes, if fed clean water with tripple filtering to begin with, will usually last 5+ years by then you buy a new system!

But keep your 14 gallon take you can always t off it and add the 2.5 gallon tank that comes standard for 16.5 gallons of stored, clean, sterile water.

We did not want to go to a water softener system, as we dislike the water produced by such systems, so as our water is cleaned by simple Brita type pitcher filters of simple iron and mineral sediment for drinking, we decided to try this whole house filter. It works beautifully. No noticeable reduction in water pressure, which we run at 40/60 thru a 1" line, reduced to 3/4" after the filter, then smaller distribution lines throughout our home. But, replacement was needed quicker than hoped on the first 2 we purchased, so we installed (2) cheap 50/5 and 25/01 Big Blue Type filters before it to hopefully prolong the filter life. We''ll see. But the quality of water is excellent, and just as important for us, we have noticed no meaningful reduction in water pressure . . . that is until the filter begins to clog up. Bought the 3-housing setup from amazon. Sediment, iron reduction, and carbon filters bought elsewhere only because amazon did not offer all 3 kinds. The 3-housing system comes pre-assembled which saves time and hassle. I supplemented the two mounting holes on the bracket with an angle bracket, one end mounted under one of the center filter attach screws and the other end attached to my floor joist. The whole 3-filter setup is a bit heavy and since the two supplied mounting holes are off-center of the center of gravity, the assembly tends to swing one way a bit when everything is installed and filled with water. Overall the system is great, very stout construction and my water is now clear of iron.

Review on the bottle:

1. This bottle is absolutely beautiful and I''ve gotten compliments from basically everyone I know.

2. I was a little disappointed to find that the trees and birds are actually painted onto an etched glass bottle, because for some reason I thought that the design was somehow normal glass that did not get etched. I''m unsure about how easily the paint scratches off since I am extremely careful with it because I''d rather not see the paint chip off.

3. The fact that it is a glass bottle leaves my water tasting like actual water, minus the plastic and metal taste from other bottles.

4. It is a very heavy bottle when filled up. Be warned.

Review on the cap:

1. The moment I received this bottle, I performed a leak test by putting water in it and shaking it up. Water does leak out of the cap if you shake really hard because it seeps through the turning/locking function of the cap. I didn''t return the bottle, though, because who really shakes a bottle up that much. For all intents and purposes, when you flip the bottle upside down, water does not come out. Don''t walk around with the bottle on its side, though, because the sloshing of the water back and forth when walking will cause it to leak. It''s better to keep the bottle upright.

2. The design of the cap really does change the way you drink water. I no longer unattractively engulf my water like a person lost in the desert would. You can certainly try, which I have, but you kind of just get water in your nose.

3. I was really uncertain about the turn-locking function of the cap. It works, but it is also kind of difficult to work with. For one, you unscrew the cap to refill it by turning the entire cap counter clockwise. You also open the locking function of the cap to reveal the hole to drink water by turning the upper portion of the cap to the right. Many times, I end up taking the entire cap off when I try to release the hole that lets water out. It''s kind of annoying. Also, when you turn the cap back to close the hole, you might end up over-tightening your bottle thereby making the actual removal of the cap to fill up or wash the bottle very difficult. It''s a good cap, but I wish it weren''t so difficult sometimes.

4. On something completely unrelated, I know it is my own fault for flooding my backpack . . . Make sure to check that the opening on the bottle is shut before you put it in your bag. It''s less obvious since the cap is always on the bottle, and I''ve ruined a few things because of this water bottle. It might be smart to leak-proof your bag when you first get this bottle. :)

Overall, my superficiality has led me to keep this bottle. I know that there are other glass water bottles out there, but I knew that if I purchased one of the other ones, deep down I would still want this Rive bottle because of how pretty it is.

I dig this bottle. The design is my favorite out of the Savoy collection. I receive compliments on it all the time from people passing by my workspace.

Sorry, but I just got this bottle and I''m sorely disappointed.

I thought that the protective cover would be all over the entire exterior, but it''s not.

Only the tiny gray piece on the very top and bottom are either rubber or plastic.

The entire rest of the bottle is just frosted glass! This means that if you dropped it the wrong way,

it would shatter in the middle!

Also, IT LEAKS!!! I thought maybe I hadn''t closed it tight enough but I tried it several different

times closing it as hard as I could and the darn thing still leaks!

Forget about throwing into a bag or something. I did that and it leaked all over some important papers.

Unless you keep it totally upright, it will leak all over everything.

I purchased this heater to replace a Lasko ceramic heater which I have no complaints. The room I use it in has many windows and is over my garage that it not heated. Unfortunately this is my bedroom and it gets drafty and requires supplemental heat. The living pure heater heats evenly and I can use it at a lower temp than the Lasko. I enjoy the added benefit of the humidifier & purifier. It has made it easier to breathe and I dont need the ionic breeze and a humidifier that had to use. I use it about 6-8 hrs at night and I do need to refill the water tank daily. The timer feature is nice too. I dont know if my electric bill will be less but I am using 2 less products and dont use this as many hours as the previous heater.

I ordered this heater thinking that it would work great. Is it just okay. It does work and it gently warms the room. There is no fan, no air blowing out of it. Just passive heat. When you order it, what you get isn''t a model 8756, but rather model 9000; so I wish Amazon would update the item description. I don''t know whether a fan actually exists inside the unit, or whether mine is broken. I looked inside and cannot see any fan inside.

What is important for this heater to work, at least for me, is the humidifier. Water vapor carries the heat so the small amount of humidity helps spread the heat throughout the room. If you don''t use water, then it doesn''t feel like the room gets warm at all.

It is overpriced. If the heater was around $120 or so, that would be a good price. But for over $300 it is too expensive for what it delivers. If I could return the heater for a full refund without having to pay for shipping, I would.

I bought a Vornado heater that seems to work a bit better. Although it doesn''t have the UV air purifier or humidifier, it actually blows warm air, which in essence is what everyone basically wants to feel.

Bought Three:

1. First one opened, then Power switch is broken

2. Open 2nd one, the top lid is broken where it is attached via screws. Plus the Side Door is not attached, popped out.

3. 3rd One, one of the four wheels is broken. Also the side door also popped out.

It was a bit difficult, but I managed to pop back in the side doors for both.

Thinking that I bought it new, I should not have a problem getting help from Woot (where I bought as brand new items). However, Woot said that they don''t have any in stock to replace the purchase, and I have to call the manufacture.

I called the Manufacture, they told me that I have to ship them back (which is fine). However, I have to pay for the ship cost to ship to them, and also pay the shipping cost for them to send the 3 heaters back to me. Now, I just bought them brand new, and received them as broken items, I am really upset that I now have to put out additional $$$ to have them replaced (for all I know, the replacement might be just as broken one way or another).

If this is an indication of their confident in their product, I will never buy another item made by Living Pure.

Expobar Office Control Espresso Machine

I have owned this machine for three years and have never regretted it. Ok, I regretted it a little when I had to get it repaired once, but it is a straightforward and simple machine, with a double boiler so you don''t have to switch temperatures between making espresso and steaming milk.

I''ve owned this machine for over a year now and it has been a workhorse. There are days that I pull 3 triple shots (using a triple basket and bottomless portafilter) a day just for me. Then there are days where I have company over and can quickly make lattes, mochas, and americanos for my guests in very little time. I use this with a Nuova Simonelli MDX grinder (flat burr). I''ve owned cheap machines in the past with single boilers and pressurized portafilter baskets, but this thing blows them away. If you are looking for an e61 HX machine on a budget, look no further.

My routine is this:

pull 4-5 ounces of water as a flush, but also to heat my two 2.5 ounce shot glasses.

dry the portafilter (i use a triple basket)

grind 18-21 grams of coffee into portafilter, distribute (north, south, east, west), tamp ~ 30 lbs

insert portafilter and pull 2.5-3 oz shot, stopping the pull when "blonding" starts, around 35 40 seconds (22-30 for a double shot).

I would recommend getting a different steam tip. I found both a 3-hole and a 4-hole tip from another site, Chris''s Coffee. The 3-hole is a nice improvement where I can go from about 60-seconds to steam ~ 8 oz of milk, down to about 35 seconds. The 4-hole tip is even quicker, though it takes much more practice to get latte art quality microfoam. Using the 4-hole tip, I can steam 8 oz of milk in around 20 seconds and the steam power is amazing. The problem with the original single-hole tip, is that it restricts the steam too much in my opinion. It makes it easy to make great foam, but it takes too long.

Overall, this is a great machine. It is built like a tank and the programmable buttons are a nice feature. I really like the auto backflush clean cycle that it has. Eventually, I''ll probably have to send it to a shop to get descaled, but that is the case with an HX machine, from what I''ve read. Anytime you are repeatedly heating water, it''s going to require a descale at some point. I have a whole-home water softener and RO water at the tap, but I still use the included filter / softener in the water tank to cut down on the scale.

I have owned this machine for 8 years and for 6 it was working. Overall this is a good machine. It is not a easy machine to repair with its enclosed design. It is very good for what it was designed for: fitting a small area and keeping the cups warm for use. Its greatest feature for our family and office use has been ease of use and the ''quad'' espressos. The largest issues are fluctuations in heat at the group head resulting in variations in quality of the brew. (The ''heat'' eventually will fry the nice push button controls.) Getting repairs are expensive and hard to get in some areas.

Learn as much as you can about the machine and how it operates and clean and flush it regularly (the manual and paperwork it comes with is worthless). Replace the cheap plastic water container (the least they could have done was include a stainless container over the plastic) with a direct plumbing line and filter will save a lot of grief. The container will run out of water more often than you think, so check and fill often. The grind is very important in this machine, too fine and you''ll have a long day of cleaning it for their is a second area behind ''the group'' that will retain the powdered nectar and clog a secondary screen. If unaware, you will be buying new pumps and relays and such.

The baseline question to ask is the convenience and ease of use for this time (5-6 years) worth 1200 dollars to you? If it is, Is the 700 dollar repair also worth continuing down the road with the unit (you will grow to either love or hate) at that 6 year mark? If this is your office machine, it probably is, but if it is for home use, you may want to consider the above.

They do seem to help with collection of minerals from the water you use. But, you still have to pay attention to the scale build up on the heating element. Do not let it build up, as it is really hard to remove it. Use white vinegar as least once a week to clean or soak the heating surface.

I also found that as it comes with two pads together; that was blocking the water from flowing into the heating area, so I just separated them and use one pad at a time.

I used to go through a box of these every 2 months. If you soak the pads in vinegar over night, you can reuse the pads instead of throwing them out.

Great Product! If you do not have a home water softener, or the desire to buy distilled water at 2 gallons per day, you NEED these Mineral Absorption pads. I''ve run my unit 24/7 with the exception of cleaning and refilling all winter. With the pads, the cleaning is easy, very little mineral deposit inside the base. With an old pad or without one at all, what a mess thick crusty hard water deposits built up everywhere inside the base!

However, I do think somewhere in the information about this product it should be said that these are the 3 1/4" pads.

Lime-A-Way Toilet Bowl Cleaner 12 pack of the 16 oz bottles

I have two old American Standard toilets (one from the 1950''s and the othe from the 1960''s have 1 1/2 baths). We have considerable mineral deposits in our water here in Virginia. My main bath toilet was not flushing properly (water flush would come right up to the top of the rim) because of all the accumulated lime deposits. It had never been cleaned for lime in all the years I had lived in the house (since the 70''s). I went on the internet and found this product. I drained the bowl and poured in enought of this (straight with no mixing) so the complete bottom of the bowl was covered and left stand overnight. I flushed the next morning and some of the lime had been dissolved. I next did the same application the next night with CLR. It got a little better. Did the Lime-A-Way for two more nights. Guess whet it dissolved completely all the lime. And for the first time I can see the porcelain in the bottom of the bowl. Now the toilet flushes perfectly. The plumber said that I was not getting enought water flow to flush the toilet. What a product. I had so much deposits that it took four applications to remove-the deposits had completely covered the bottom of the bowl and clogged the water inlet. But, it is worth it. I also used it on my other toilet in the 1/2 bath and left that overnight also, and it cleaned that out in the same manner. What a wonderful product!!! I wouod highly recommend this product. I bought it from Amazon as none of the stores here carried it. Now both toilets work perfectly.

This is a great toilet cleaner. There was a stain in the toilet when I moved into my new apartment. I used two different toilet cleaners, but none of them worked. I though I would just have to live with the stain, that is, until I tried Lime-A-Way. Not only did the stain completely come up, but Lime A-way destroyed all sorts of other dirt hidden under the toilet rim that the other cleaners had missed.

This cleaner is great. I used to use Clorox Toilet Cleaner with Bleach, but this is a superior product. I have hard water that often leaves rust and lime deposits. This cleaner takes care of the job. I cannot find it in local stores, but it is readily available online. One word of caution it is very powerful. Make sure that the window is open or that you are cleaning in a well-ventilated space.

Sinkware 5049 Stainless-Steel Kitchen-Sink Strainer

Looked great on arrival, but was completely rusted through and useless in 6 months. Stainless steel? I doubt it very much.

It seemed to be a perfect solution to our sinks open drain. It was also very affordable. After two months of having it, it is now starting to deteriorate. Things stick in the screen and do not rinse out easily, some things I have not been able to get out at all. The edges of the metal lip are already showing decay and it also has things that will not come off easily. It has turned out to be more work than I would have ever guessed. Well, more work if you don''t like rotting food stuck on it.

However, if you are looking for a temporary and VERY affordable fix. This is perfect. I just wish the temporary fix would have lasted a little longer.

We bought this system on the advice of our plumber. Originally we had meant to install an RO system. The plumber, however, clued us in that all RO systems waste 3 8 gallons of water a day as they continually filter, and what doesn''t get used, dumps back into the waste water line. Euroflex Monster Floor Steam Cleaner Blue EZ1

My new Monster Floor Cleaner was delivered just 9 months ago. It has been used once a week to clean 500 sq ft of textured ceramic tile floor laid on concrete slab since. It did a very good job cleaning. I used distilled water exclusively and purchased additional pads. It frequently required repairs during those 35-40 uses and I longer consider it repairable. Here is what went wrong:

The jets in the front of the Cleaner seem like a great idea but cause more trouble than they are worth. They blow straight out so nothing is loosened. Instead, loose dirt is blown around out of control. The jet trigger is in the handle and opens the steam valve via a wire that gets off track and jammed from time to time. The jets tend to clog when the cleaner bangs into things. One could simply forget about keeping the jets running, but the control wire is the reason the handle breaks. The two sections of the handle are joined by a plastic connector that passes the trigger wire and isn''t as robust as it should be. Mine broke twice. I carefully repaired it once and gave up when it broke again six months later.

The flaw I consider a show stopper is the floor steam valve. It turns the steam off when the handle is raised and controls the amount of steam. Mine was a little temperamental at the start but then worked dependably for several months. A few months ago it began sticking again, getting worse and worse. Steam flow is through plastic tubing which softens and kinks. Between the valve and the tubing it finally became impossible to finish the floor before the steam cut out.

I love cleaning the floor with steam. The Monster isn''t tough enough for my floor though. It isn''t quite hot enough for tile laid on a concrete slab. The handle is weak. The valves and tubing are not robust and not dependably over time. The steam control and the jets seem nice but lend additional weaknesses to the design.

UPDATE: Below is my original review to which I assigned a 5 star rating. Since then, the 1 yr old mop has gone on the fritz and now has stopped working completely. I always used distilled water (as recommended by the manual), but after about 6 months or so I started experiencing issues that usually occur when you''ve used hard water -i.e., the mope would heat up, but no steam would come out. I read the manual, which very technically explained that I needed to fill up the mop with water (not plug it in), shake the mop violently, and then dump out the water out. I did this, and gray water came pouring out. I repeated the process and then the mop worked like new....until a couple months later when the same phenomenon happened I remedied it again. I emailed customer service and they never replied. Now, about 1 yr after the purchase my steam mop heats up but no steam comes out and the violent shaking of yesteryear does not work. I''m frustrated and wish I would have gone with a more recognizable brand. I borrowed my mother-in-law''s Shark and think I will get one of those. While the water chamber is about half the size of the Monster, the chamber is plastic and you can see if you are getting any funky buildup. Also, the Shark is about half the weight and allows more steam to come out.

I researched for weeks online and in stores for a steam mop, as most of my house is wood or tile. I could not be happier with my purchase. Here are the reasons why i finally chose the Euroflex Monster:

1) It was actually designed to be used on hardwood floors this was important to me b/c I didn''t want to ruin the floors in our house

2) It has 2 different steam levels, which makes it safer and more effective at cleaning tile and hardwood. i could not find any other steam mop w/ 2 different steam levels.

3) it has a good sized water chamber. i can mop the whole house on one filling if i don''t press the trigger too much to get extra steam to come out the front.

4) steam jets on the bottom AND front. i don''t remember seeing this in any other brand.

5) it heats up hotter than most steam mops to 240 degrees F. Other steam mops don''t get as hot so to actually sanitize you are supposed to hold the mop in one spot for 15 seconds, which would make mopping a house an all day event.

6) it also has an attachment for steam cleaning carpets i have not tried this yet, but liked the feature.

It has been great at cleaning well and quickly. It really does wipe away grime... even grime that''s been there for a while. The pads are machine washable and come out clean every time. Be sure to use distilled water so that you don''t get any build up in the chamber (that goes for all steam mops). My only complaint is that if you do have to refill the water chamber mid-cleaning session, you have to wait to 5 mins unscrew the cap (b/c of steam escaping when you unscrew the cap)and then another 5 mins for the mop to heat up after you put more water in the chamber.

I''d been wanting to purchase a steam mop for over a year, and I finally plunked down the money for this one. I''m very pleased with it! I was amazed at the amount of dirt that it removed from my kitchen floor, especially. That floor is textured linoleum stick-on tiles that are supposed to look like slate. Anyway, dirt tends to get trapped in the grooves, and it''s very hard to remove. I was a little worried that the high level of heat would ruin the adhesive and lift the tiles, but that hasn''t happened after several moppings. I had even scrubbed that floor on hands and knees with a magic eraser about a week before I bought my Monster, and yet there was more dirt remaining than I thought possible. Now, I can even walk around barefoot and my feet stay clean. My other floors are made of ceramic tiles, laminate, and linoleum. It has cleaned all of them equally well. I was a little leery about using the Monster on the laminate floors, but I just put it on the lowest setting and they are spotless and no worse for the wear. It should be noted though, that my laminate floors are glueless, so your mileage may vary if yours are glued together. This mop is super easy to use and what''s more, it''s fun! I''ve never had such clean floors, period. And with relatively little effort! Even my six year old had to try it out. Picking up her toys is another matter, but who wouldn''t want to try blasting a floor clean with this thing? I also like the trigger on the handle that sends out a blast of steam--it''s nice to blast around the base of the toilets, under the fridge, in corners, etc. I feel like this mop will be pretty durable too--there doesn''t seem to be a whole lot that could go wrong with it. After all, steam irons last forever (my mom still uses one she inherited from her mother, daily, because she sews) and this is basically an iron on a stick. Overall, just a great, chemical free way to get your home really clean.

The steamer does work as advertised, but it does take some scrubbing action and pressure to get everything up. Thus the second problem the handle broke. I am not that strong and the handle snapped after my 3rd use.

I love this steam mop! After watching an infomercial for another steam mop, I started researching reviews and after watching a video on how to operate this one I chose it. This one does not seem to have the problems of others. It does not leave the floor soaking wet, and it heats up quickly. It also has a very long cord.
