Camco 40631 EVO Premium RV Water Filter Save 30% Off

Camco 40631 EVO Premium RV Water Filter
  • Includes filter housing, one extension hose and one replaceable premium spun polypropylene filter cartridge
  • Filter lasts one camping season
  • 5 micron barrier and granulated active carbon reduces bad taste, odors, sediments, bacteria, chlorine and much more
  • Filter is replaceable
  • CSA low lead content certified and complies with California''s AB1953 and Vermont Act 193 Low Lead Laws

I bought the RV water filter (CAMCO 40631) and followed the directions for installing it. My husband was out of town at the time, and I didn''t want to wait.

So, of course, the very first thing I do is over-torque one of the connections and I broke it.

I called CAMCO customer service, and explained what I had done, and asked who I needed to talk to so I could buy the parts I needed. The lady on the other end asked me a few questions, and then told me she will be sending the parts to me.

It was easy, simple, and I had a wonderful conversation with the rep, and the best part was I didn''t have to struggle through a accent or language barrier.

Camco you just earned a lifetime customer!

Fittings are course tolerance and require some effort to stop leakage. The unit seems fairly durable. Be sure to flush before use as there is a lot of loose carbon in the included filter.

Watts Premier 501026 Zero Waste Reverse Osmosis Retrofit Kit

Watts Premier 501026 Zero Waste Reverse Osmosis Retrofit Kit
  • Turn your existing RO in to a 100 percent efficient treatment system
  • Increase the production of your current RO to fill the tank faster
  • Conserves water
  • Certified to ensure high quality

I live in Japan.So I bought this with RO-PURE STAGE4(RO-4) for Fukushima''s accident.

At first It didn''t contain diagram for RO-4,only for old RO system.I must requested correct diagram by e-mail and had to wait 10 days for answer.

Next,I installed zero-waste but it decrease TDS about 40-60%.supplied water''s TDS was 77-125PPM and pure?water''s TDS was 30-55PPM(led alarm on RO faucet keep blue flashing(means OK),so,I know that We can''t know the membrane efficiency from led alarm).

WATTS''s mail said "Everything appears connected properly." and couldn''t identify the reason.

I requested advise for Japanese RO professional,he said zero-waste is wired system for riskiness''about drain error.Back pressure from hot water supply may brake water prresure balance at membrane. So I gave up zero waste and make drain as free running, then TDS decrease to 4PPM soon.

Finally,zero-waste work only as booster pump.and I doubt WATTS''s assessment for this system. They checked TDS?

Anyway You''d get booster pump instead of zero-waste.If You insist zero-waste,get TDS meter and check carefully for your health.

Once the system is installed it works well. The diagram that comes with the system does not apply to all Watts RO systems. Additional diagrams were not available online from Watts. I emailed their service department, told them what RO system I had, and they responded that the zero waste system I bought would not work with my Watts RO system.

Thankfully a phone call to the technical department resulted in a new diagram with some modifications and we were able to complete installation. The transformer that came with the system was faulty. But, with the proof of the purchase of a new transformer from Radio Shack, Amazon credited our account for $30 which was fair.

I have been using Premier RO systems for 12 years. Some work better than others. One of the systems I purchased was the Watts Zero Waste RO system. I purchased it when I discovered how much water my 5 stage RO system used. This system was a poor value as it was only three stage and the pump died after a year or so. Recently, my septic filled up due to marshy conditions caused by snow melt. So we disconnected our five stage system and had it drain into five gallon buckets. We were alarmed and amazed how much waste water it yielded. So we decided to try again with the zero waste, this time buying a retrofit for our dozen year old five stage system. The retrofit seems to be better quality than our original zero waste. Installation is a bit complex, but not hard. Water quality does not seem different after installation. The pump goes off when the tank fills. Overall, I am satisfied by this product. Hopefully it will last longer than the first one.

Not supposed to be working with WP4-V but I hooked it up anyway and it works! So I am giving it 5 stars since otherwise I was going to trash that WP4-V unit.

Haier WDNSC145 Convertible Freestanding Full-Size/Tabletop Water Dispenser

Haier WDNSC145 Convertible Freestanding Full-Size/Tabletop Water DispenserThis is my first Haier product. I''ve had this for a couple weeks and it has been working great. When you first turn the cold water switch on, it takes about 10-15 mins to get cold, but if you leave it on it''s cold all the time. Same with the hot water, it takes about 5 minutes or so to heat up.

One problem i''ve noticed (minus the one star) is that when you have both hot and cold water switches on, both the hot water and cold water compete for ready access. This is not a big deal, so I usually just leave one switch on a time (usually cold since it gets the majority usage).

As far as heating and cooling quality, when it''s hot, it''s SUPER hot. When it gets cold, it''s cold enough to condensate your glass, but not ice cold still refreshing!

UPDATE: Here''s something else I wanted to add. Unlike other water coolers, this one does not run constantly cold or hot. If you have the cold switch on, it will keep recooling the water in cycles (you''ll see the cold water light go on every 20-30 mins or after use). Same with hot water. If you have the switch on, it will reheat the water in cycles (every 20-30 mins or after use). Another minor annoyance (-.5 stars), but again, it''s tolerable.

Updated rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

I was attracted to this unit because it includes separate power switches to turn off the hot and/or cold water when you want to. I like hot water on the red tap, and room temperature water on the blue tap, and it''s actually very hard to find that combination of features.

Unfortunately, the water that comes out tastes like burnt plastic. I called manufacturer, who suggested soaking the inside of the unit with solution of baking soda (1 Tbsp), vinegar (1 Tbsp), and water (1 Gal), but this did not fix the problem.

One other note: Having tried out a few water dispenser units recently, I can say without a doubt that this one has the most annoying child safety device on the hot water tap. As a result, the hot water tap is awkward to use.

Manufacturer offered to send a replacement but it would take three weeks to arrive. Since we had already waited two weeks for delivery of the original unit, I decided to return the product for a refund instead.

The Amazon.com return page said I would have to pay return shipping, but I called Amazon and they sent me a free return shipping label.

In sum: the product quality was lousy but the customer service from the manufacturer was pretty good and from Amazon was outstanding.

I bought this unit when I was moved to the bungalows at my school and wanted a way to have hot water for instant coffee and cold water for the many days when our room a/c is broken. For the three months that I''ve had it so far, it''s been great. I like the fact that I can turn the power off on the unit for evenings or weekends (just adds good peace of mind), and switch it on in the mornings for quick hot water and refreshing cold water throughout the day. I use 3-gallon home delivery bottles that I take to and from school without problem and these, combined with the countertop nature of this dispenser, make this just too convenient for me NOT to have!

We''ve only had the dispenser for about a month now, so I don''t know how valuable my opinion really is. Nevertheless, no problems thus far. The design is slightly confusing, not in respect to putting the base together, that was pretty straightforward, took only 15-20 minutes. But the base is made out of thin plastic panels, on which you place the 25-30 pound water filter machine, and then on top of that goes the 5 gallon jug of water. Honestly, I''m amazed the whole thing hasn''t collapsed. But there it is, with no visible signs of the dispenser falling over anytime soon. There was a bizarre, chlorine like odor in the kitchen the fist week we turned the machine on, but no one''s gotten sick from the water. -UPDATE: the dispenser lasted from 2007 to 2012. That''s five years without one problem with it. Not a bad deal for the price.

We recently discontinued our bottled water service at work to save some money. So the four employees that are in the office on a daily basis chipped in to buy our own unit (and refill our 5-gal jug at home). I did a lot of reviewing on Amazon and other sites. This unit stood out as the best deal. After some easy assembly and start-up, we are all extremely pleased with it (one month later). It''s great having on/off switches for both hot and cold water. We can turn the unit off on the weekends to save power. We did have a slight leak in the cold water spigot. But after popping the lever with it''s own spring action, it re-seated and has worked fine since. Something to keep an eye on. Very happy overall.

Hoover C3820 SteamVac Spotter / Carpet Cleaner Save 50% Off

Hoover C3820 SteamVac Spotter / Carpet CleanerYou will be amazed (and perhaps disgusted) to find out just how dirty your carpets really are after using this unit (even after vacuuming with a "high-end" vacuum cleaner). It REALLY pulls out the dirt. But make no mistake: this is no "miracle worker". If your carpets are soiled with pet stains, you will want to pre-treat stain areas by spraying (and thereafter scrubbng with a scrub sponge) the stained areas with the cleaning solution prior to using the unit. Also, after 3 or 4 months, most pet stains will reappear. This is not a negative reflection on the Hoover cleaner, but more a reflection on the realities (and limitations) of carpets, carpet cleaners, and pet stains. I am not aware of any other carpet cleaner (commercial or non-commercial) that can do any better than this unit, and believe me, I have looked. Further, the performance of the unit will depend on your willingness to clean out pet fur and/or other debris from the filters. As said, it is not a miracle cleaner you have to give it some help by cleaning out the filters so that it can perform at its best. To my knowledge, there is no "miracle carpet cleaner" that ovbiates the need to peform essential basic maintenance on the unit.

This product also wins accolades for not leaking cleaning solution from the primary tank or the recovery tank. It''s a very "tight unit", liquid-wise.

If you want clean carpets, and don''t want to drop $1000 or more on a true "commercial" cleaner, this is the way to go.

After 20 hours of use I am quite pleased with the Hoover c3820 Steamvac carpet cleaner. The c3820 does a good job cleaning my acres of carpets whether I use special detergent, Simple Green, or vinegar. I also like it for spot jobs. The Hoover picks up virtually all of the water so carpets dry quickly. This model is mostly plastic so I wouldn''t want to go any cheaper in the Hoover lineup. I go slowly so I need to empty dirty water and refill the unit once or twice when doing an average-sized room. Calling this "commercial" may be because it''s quick for spot jobs, but it is not quick for big jobs since the tanks are only 1 gallon. The seal on the lid of the dirty water tank can be a problem the unit won''t suck up water unless there is a good seal on the tank lid. I gave up fighting it and now never take off the dirty tank lid. I pour out the dirty water through the slit on top. The unit does not come with a stair cleaning attachment. When I feel strong I do lift the unit and use it on stairs it''s similar to lifting and using a full-size vacuum cleaner on stairs.

Buy Hoover C3820 SteamVac Spotter / Carpet Cleaner Now

Machine worked flawlessly for first six months with little parts cleaning maintenance. Then, after about 6-8 months, the suction died. I took it apart, cleaning and looking for obstructions, finding none. With recovery tank removed, the suction is powerful coming directly from vacuum engine port. Once recovery tank was replaced, all gaskets inspected, nozzle cleaned and lid on securely, there was still scant suction. This is a design problem that needs to be fixed. Thank goodness I bought from COSTCO with the always return policy with a full refund. I''ll try a different model or manufacturer for this as next step. Bottom line: If you can get from COSTCO and replace as necessary not minding the hassle factor, it''s a good choice. If purchased anywhere else, try another model or manufacturer

Bodum Ceylon 51-Ounce Ice Tea Maker with Filter

Bodum Ceylon 51-Ounce Ice Tea Maker with FilterThis pitcher does what it says, but after using it for a few months I have to wonder if this pitcher is special enough to warrant the price. The ''pull in-pull out'' compartment that holds tea bags or lemons is nice. But the plastic is so thin after a few uses it starts to warp out of shape. If youre not supposed to pour hot water in the pitcher, what is the point of using it? I really like the slim-ness of the pitcher overall (fits in the fridge well), and I don''t mind its small capacity, but its overall fragile build leaves me wishing the manufacturers would have just created something more sturdy. I''d say someone is better off just brewing tea in a regular tupperware pitcher for half the price.

i bought this teamaker because i interpreted the description to mean that it somehow brewed iced tea more easily than the usual boil-the-water-cool-it-off method. i found that the overnight in cold water method recommended makes really uninteresting tea. i started using the traditional boiling water method.

since i bought this two years ago, i have had none of the problems more recent users have mentioned. the plastic on my model seems quite sturdy, so i suspect even bodum has succumbed to cheap manufacturing in the interim.

as a convenient pitcher to cool and store iced tea in, its nice. and removing the tea leaves after brewing is simple with the insert--no need to juggle two containers and a seive. but it certainly isn''t a clever, easier way to make iced tea.

Buy Bodum Ceylon 51-Ounce Ice Tea Maker with Filter Now

I owned this for several years (many of which was spent in storage) until I gave this away to a friend. This is probably decent for a light tea drinker, but given the amount of tea I drink on a daily basis (8-10 cups per day), it just did not work for me. Also, the holes in the "so-called-strainer" are too big I got a lot of sediment when I brewed loose leaf tea. I''ve since moved on to a stainless steel mesh strainer which produces much better results. In fact, what I''ve been using for years, I bought right here at Amazon. It''s the "Bodum Teabowl". It''s quite a bit more expensive (when I bought it 3 years ago it was $59.99 now its $99.95) but I''ve used this thing every day since, and all it needs to stay looking new is a good cleaning from time to time. But, if you''re a casual tea drinker that doesn''t care about extra sediment in your tea, this is a decent low cost choice.

Does what it claims to, elegantly, but small leaf particles get through the filter. Takes time for tea to brew.

Works really really well ... would not recommend it with loose tea, tough, as the small leaves can go through the holes unless you like to choke on them :-) Great with bags ... or larger leaved teas.

Omnipure Q5633 Replacement Filter Cartridge

Omnipure Q5633 Replacement Filter CartridgeThis Carbon Filter is the most appropriate I have found, as a prefilter, upstream of an RO Filter. Since an RO filter is very delicate, it is indispensible for the input to the RO to be free from large particles as possible. Otherwise the RO would be unnecessarily overloaded, and would work at a much lower efficiency than it normally can. For those who are adept at working with mechanical systems, it is possible to purchase individual parts, and put them together. This way one can install a system that suits the specific potable water quality, locally. A lot of unnecessary parts could also be saved. Many other prefilters that target a specific contaminent could also be added, as well as an afterfilter to purify even the output of the RO. In terms of a prefilter, I have found this type, quite sufficient. The 12" type is specially more desirable, since it has mor capacity, in other words it lasts longer. According to product specification at the manufacturer''s site, I found this brand more suitable than others. Of course, that depends on how much one is willing to apportion for this system, and what qualiry of potable water one is after. The lower micron rating is a finer filter, and outputs cleaner water and therefore more expensive. However, to take advantage of the RO filter the most, it is much better to provide as a pure water as possible at the inlet.

DII Kitchen Millenium Microfiber Kitchen Towel

DII Kitchen Millenium Microfiber Kitchen Towel, Windsor Blue, Set of 6I use these for hand and dish towels in the kitchen. The color is beautiful, and they are very soft and absorbent. Just what I wanted.

These towels are very nice quality. They absorb a lot and dry out quickly. They have been washed several times and I haven''t noticed any running although I do seperate colors. In the dryer, some items want to stick to them, but overall, I really like these towels.

Buy DII Kitchen Millenium Microfiber Kitchen Towel Now

My wife purchased these and is writing the review. She hoped these would be similar to her old DII MICROFIBER towels, purchased at Amazon last year and no longer available. Those previously-purchased DII towels, as well as some recently-purchased DII plain cotton towels carried a "DII For The Home" label. This set of towels being reviewed has a cheaply-printed "no-brand" label on the towel and nowhere does the packaging say "DII Home Essentials" (as they are advertised) or indicate any relationship to the popular DII line/company. Instead they are made by "Kitchen Millenium" and, when washed, each edge rolls toward the body of the towel and also shrinks up and down the whole length of that border. So, once washed, they are unsightly and a nightmare to use because you cannot flatten them out (remember your old rag-bag items). I wish I had read the other "1" review because I agree completely. (The DII microfiber towels I bought at Amazon last year lie flat out of the dryer every time.) Very disappointing. Oh, and they are not 16" x 24" but, brand new out of the package, 15.5 x 23.25" This is the second Amazon purchase in the last 2 months that has been advertised as a name-branded item and arrived as a substitution with a non-branded knock-off item.

After a lifetime of buying terrycloth towels for drying my hands and smooth cotton towels for drying my dishes, I decided to give these microfiber towels a try and I couldn''t be more pleased. They''re nice and soft so they''re great as hand towels and they''re so absorbent that one swipe is all it takes to dry a dish. I''m even using one for wiping off my counter top and stainless steel sink so no more dish rags and sponges cluttering up the area around my sink. All of my old kitchen towels, nice looking as some of them were, have now been relegated to the rag bag :-)

I have washed these towels several times. They still bleed red dye when I wet them and wring out by hand. They have bled all over my other towels, even though I washed them several times by themselves in cold water and white vinegar. More trouble than they are worth.

  • Culligan WBA mounts whole house water filter housings securely to the wall.
  • Eight screws are included with the Culligan WBA mounting bracket. The screws are 5/16" x 1-1/2".
  • The Pentek WB-SS or Culligan WBA mounting bracket can be used with No.10 Big Blue or No.20 Big Blue whole house housings.
  • The Culligan WBA bracket is made of zinc coated steel.

This is a very strong steel bracket. It comes with all the needed hardware (bolts) to mount your Culligan HD-950A water filter. My only complaint is that this bracket should come with the water filter (minus one star). The water filter is too large to use without support. Some people will place an object underneath the filter to hold it up. The only problem with that is when you change the water filter, you are putting undesirable pressure and stress on your water line and fittings as you unscrew the bottom. That''s why you need this bracket if you own a Culligan HD-950A water filter. It may also work with similar sized water filters as well.

  • The GE GXRTDR Inline Refrigerator Water Filter reduces chlorine taste and odor to deliver clean, delicious water to your refrigerator and icemaker
  • The GE GXRTDR inline water filter has been tested and certified to NSF / ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of Chlorine and Class V Particulates

  • The GE GXRTDR refrigerator filter life is up to 6 months or 2500 gallons depending on water usage and water quality

My wife bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter because the GXRTQR filter was no longer available and the box said it would work as a replacement. As far as I can tell, it will only work if your old tubing is 1/4 in. Mine is 1/2 in. There were adapter fittings for the GXRTQR so I never had any problem with replacing it. I tried to do an install, thinking that the stub of a tube inside the fitting would marry, but it was too short, so I had to put the old filter back on. I have to either replace the tubes on fridge & at the faucet, or find another filter.

Buy GE GXRTDR In-Line Refrigerator/Icemaker Filter Now

I bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter as a replacement to the GXRTQR filter. What a huge mistake! The old filter had a very secure connection. The new GXRTDR has a "quick-connect" style connector. (Ideally, you cut the tube and just stick it in the connector, and it automatically locks in-place. The connector is a little like a "Chinese Finger Trap" where you stick your fingers in a woven bamboo cylinder and your fingers won''t come out until you compress the weave.) Anyway, I''ve used quick-connectors at my work for many years and never had a problem, but I had never used this brand. I pulled the fridge out of its niche and followed the directions. I cut out my old filter hardware and installed the new filter. I let the water run to clear the initial carbon particles, and then I checked for leakage and the connectors seemed to be sealed. I put the refrigerator back in the niche and sometime that night, it sprung a leak at the internal o-ring seal. My kitchen is on the second floor, so the water leaked through the floor soaking the drywall ceiling in the bedroom below. It was a huge expensive, time-wasting mess.

Like the above poster I got this filter to replace my previous GXRTQR inline filter.

My only complaint is that the outlet port for the water tubing was a pain in the neck to get to go up flush against the area it is supposed to. which resulted in water spurting everywhere. however once I got that in it worked fine.

After years of buying those expensive GE filter cartridges $35 to $50, that the manufacturer hooks you into purchasing when they sell you their refrigerator, I put the blank plug that comes with the refrigerator in and installed this easy to install filter on the supply line in the rear of the refrigerator. Works great, and saves lots of money. I will definitely purchase more of these in the future. When initially installed the first gallon of water comes out black from the charcoal but once its flushed, it is a great filtration system.

Cuisinart DCC-1200PRC 12-Cup Replacement Glass Carafe Save 39% Off

Cuisinart DCC-1200PRC 12-Cup Replacement Glass Carafe, BlackI received an e-mail from Amazon asking me to review this carafe, which I had purchased about two weeks ago. OK, I''ll write a review. Here we go: In a world where carafes often go unnoticed, many carafes and carafe-like kitchen accessories struggled to rise above the masses; to gain recognition; to find some way to be different. This carafe, all by itself, did just that. Bravely staying put in the coffee maker while near-boiling coffee dripped in, resolutely holding this coffee for up to several hours so that the Joe wouldn''t just flow freely across the kitchen counter top, this carafe decided to make a difference. Sometimes our world seems to be coming apart at the seams, but you can count on this carafe to hold your coffee together in one place. Coming soon to a theater near you. (I''m here all week; try the roast beef).

This is an excellent example of soaking the consumer. You can buy an entire coffee maker for the price of this carafe, but once you''ve committed to the Cuisinart coffee maker, you''ve got to buy their replacement carafe only because nothing else will fit. And it''s not terribly well made (fairly thin glass), which is why the original one broke so easily.

But it does make good coffee. Just be careful washing the carafe.

Buy Cuisinart DCC-1200PRC 12-Cup Replacement Glass Carafe Now

I have had my Cuisinart coffeemaker for 3-4 years now, and I''m currently on my fifth (!!!) replacement carafe. The carafe is fine. Its handle is sturdy, the carafe has never dribbled, and can hold max capacity of 12 cups of coffee. I use it about twice a day.

My only complaint is that the glass wall of the carafe is thin. My first, second, and third carafes were chipped or broken by falls. However, this latest one was very flimsy: after many months of handwashing (I never put it in the dishwasher), I accidentally tapped the side of the carafe on the granite counter next to the sink, and it _shattered_ into many small pieces. My fifth carafe now is 5 months strong.

Yes, it''s upsetting that the replacement carafes are so expensive. But the coffeemaker itself is excellent, and I won''t change getting replacement carafes (unless there is a generic out there that''s cheaper and sturdier). This makes me think of inkjet printers: they''re so cheap, but the ink is so expensive. The Cuisinart coffeemaker is inexpensive and EXCELLENT, but unfortunately the carafes are expensive.

Having already replaced my DCC 1200PRC twice a friend advised to shop for the generic version which is available at about half the price! Although I love my Cuisinart coffee maker, replacing the pot had become way too expensive. I am very happy with the model that I found at Total Vac.

Holmes UH311 Replacement Filter

Holmes UH311 Replacement FilterWhen these filters became virtually unavailable a few years back I tried soaking the old one one I had in vinegar every time I did a major cleaning of the humidifier, on the theory that the vinegar will reinvigorate the filter by dissolving the minerals which have been captured by the filter. It seems to work we have had no white dust problems with the filters so treated, and have so cleaned that one filter several dozen times now.

The products were received earlier than promised.

Great customer service, too. They worked to ensure they had a happy customer.

This filter works well for about 9 months in my house. I would have given 5 stars if price was more reasonable like competitors other than Moen that are half the cost.

I got the original filter with the water filter system and it worked great for more than the 6 months anticipated. The replacement filter worked fine for about 2 months, then I started seeing small white flakes floating in the water. I ran water through the filter to see if I could flush whatever it was out, but the flakes were still there. Pretty scary. I haven''t bought another replacement filter for the system because I don''t want to waste another fifty bucks.

3M Filtrete Water Station Save 7% Off

3M Filtrete Water Station
  • Includes docking station and lid, one Filtrete Fast Flow Filter, four - 16.9-Ounce (500mL) water bottles
  • Filters from tap directly into four, reusable bottles in seconds
  • Bottles are BPA-free and dishwasher safe
  • Save up to 3,000 bottles of water per year
  • Also includes leak-proof caps for bottles

The 3M Filtrete Water Station is a good product idea with some positive aspects. But the product''s poor design will inevitably show its flaws after long term use. I advise anybody considering this product to buy an alternative.

This is clearly marketed towards families who drink a lot of bottled water. The product website repeatedly lists how using the water station is better than drinking bottled water. But they should have taken some time to compare this product to other water filtration systems on the market instead.

The bottom line: use a home filter or purchase an alternative filter system from ZeroWater, Mavea, PUR or Brita, and buy your own bottles to fill. I like the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle but see-through plastic bottles are also available.

PROS:

++ New filter design works quickly

++ Indicator system tells you when it''s time to change your filter after 3 months

++ Filters are designed so that they can be disassembled and partially recycled

++ Can fill 1 4 bottles at once, or a pitcher using the spout

++ Bottles are BPA free, & also are nice and clear so you can see your water

++ Bottles are dishwasher safe

CONS:

-No information is provided on filtration percentages or elements that are filtered; both Pur and Brita have this data on their websites and product packaging

-Station does not drain well; standing water will provide a breeding ground for bacteria

-Filter is not secured in place, so water will run around it if you over-fill it

-To avoid that problem, you must fill the well slowly because it holds little water at a time

-Bottles overfill, especially when filling fewer than 4

-Mounting bottles is clunky

-Spouts leak when you remove bottles

-Bottles close via clumsy lever arms that are hard to close and open

-That makes it easier to screw off the tops rather than drink from the tops

-Drinking from the bottle tops also spreads germs when you attach them to the spouts for refills

-Getting the water out of a specific spout requires you to lean the station all over, leading to leaks and more mess

-If you refrigerate the bottles, the station itself becomes a space waster

-If you leave the bottles attached, the water becomes stale

-The only way to prevent stale water is to disassemble and dry the components nightly

-Even after doing this, it''s almost impossible to shake all the water out of the filter itself

-Even after washing the filter many times and filtering 10+ gallons of water, there is still tons of filter sediment in the water station when I disassemble and clean it

-Replacement filters are more expensive than alternatives

-MSRP is also much higher than most alternatives

CONCLUSION

This product may work for a small number of people. Perhaps few people are as picky as I am, but I recommend you choose one of the alternatives outlined above. As for me, I have developed my own work-around to use this unit.

1. I filter my water with my Pur pitcher first.

2. I run the filtered water through the Water Station.

3. I use the filled bottles for drinking at home.

4. I disassemble the entire unit every few days to let it air out.

Happy shopping.

Last week this item wasn''t available through Amazon, so I drove to a Wal*Mart 40 miles away. It was worth the drive. I am thrilled with this product. It does everything and more than the ads say. It will fill one bottle at a time if you want and it has a spout on the side so you could fill a container to make coffee.

But just a little info., shame on this vendor for their price. I paid $37.95 for this at Wal*Mart. I know it''s hard, but if you can''t find it somewhere for that price...wait. Soon it will be all over the web.

I have been using this system for about 4 months now and about 2/3 weeks ago I started having a musty/mold type taste in my water. I replaced the filter since it was time to replace it anyway. I flushed about 3 full sets of bottles through the filter and system to make sure there was no residue left from the old filter. The first set after that seemed to be ok. After about 2 weeks though it now has a mold/mildew taste again. I tasted the water right out of the tap and that flavor is not there. After having it happen twice I will not be using this filter system again.

This filter is incredibly fast, especially compared with pitchers, faucet-mounts, and distillers. But the bottles leak more than 50% of the time in the week I used it. And more troubling: the system doesn''t seem to purify the water much. The claim that it "helps reduce sediment, chlorine taste and odor from tap water" is not exactly specific chemical information. "Helps reduce" doesn''t say much, nor are sediment and chlorine odor and taste the biggest things I want filtered out of tap water. As far as I can tell, this system reduces dirt and chlorine from water faster than letting the water sit in a glass for a couple of hours (which gets rid of chlorine and allows sediment to settle to the bottom), but not much more than that. None of the information on the box, the marketing copy, or the 3M web site specify what the filtrete water station removes from water. What percentages and what chemicals does it remove? If they don''t specify, chances are it''s still in the water.

As soon as I saw this advertised on TV, I started searching for it online and in the store. I ended up finding it at Walmart for $37 as another reviewer did. The system filters very quickly much more convenient than my Brita pitcher than I''ve been using for years. No more waiting 5 minutes to fill the pitcher! It only takes about 30 seconds to fill all four bottles and the overflow valve is handy as well. Also, no soaking filters for 15 minutes in addition to wasting a gallon of water. Just run water over the filter for a minute or two and you''re ready to go! The bottles are a little difficult to open and close but the fact that they are leak proof is worth it. Also, my 2 year old daughter can''t open them so that is a plus! However, the opening is small enough that she can drink from them without spilling. The bottles are attractive, a nice size, and good quality as well as BPA free!!

I suppose you can fill the bottles, take them off the station and put them in the fridge, or you can just put the whole thing in the fridge if you are like me and have more fridge space than counter space. My husband even likes it and that it a shocker!

  • 30 gallons a hour of ultra-filtered high quality

PROS: 1. The water tastes great. 2. The stem threads into the base, but is double gasketed with O rings. This means that you don''t have to tighten it down, and you can rotate it to any position and it won''t leak from the base of the stem, as long as you don''t unscrew it all the way. It also means you can point the handle in any direction you like, not just the one shown in the picture. 3. The faucet handle can be held down or flipped up and released to pour water. You don''t have to hold it if you flip it up. 4. Installation was as easy as plumbing can be. If the supplied T fitting fits what you have under your sink, then you will be fine. If it does not fit, and you do not know what to do to make it fit, CALL A PLUMBER. This is what they do, and it won''t cost you much, because it''s an easy job.

CONS: The water keeps running after you shut it off. This is not a malfunction, it is a design flaw. The instructions even make reference to it. Considering the cost of this item, I feel this is a major drawback. I am not impressed. This bothers me every time I use it.

NEUTRAL: 1. Water does not come out cold. It sits in the filters at room temperature, so you''d have to run it for a LONG time before it would be the same temp as the water coming out of your cold water tap. It must be refrigerated if you want it cold. This is fine. Just fill a pitcher, not a glass. 2. Water runs very slow. Filling a pitcher, or a coffee pot takes a while. 3. The reason the filter faucet runs on is because the valve in the handle turns water on and off to the inlet of the filter, not to the faucet itself. I can only assume this is done so that the filtration system itself does not need to handle any real pressure. This would make it less expensive to manufacture, but like i indicated above it also means that the water runs for 5-10 seconds after you shut it off, as water pressure bleeds off, and residual water siphons out.

HOMEOWNER TIP: If you do call a plumber to install your water filter, whether it''s this one or not, ask him to replace your shut off valves with 1/4 turn "ball valves" if they are not ball valves already. He''ll explain why it''s a good idea, and why this is a good time to do it. He''ll also think you''re an educated homeowner, which is in your favor.

The kit came with everything I needed to replace the sprayer house sink attachment and add this water filter. It took a couple of hours to clean out under the sink, and complete the install, but it was not difficult. The water is tasteless now, and makes much better ice cubes.

I bought the Aquasana to eliminate contaminants and strange odors from our water and it''s done a fantastic job. It was relatively easy to install, took about 20 minutes. The complaints about it dripping after being shut off are valid, however, the manufacturer tells you up front that the unit will drip for about 5-10 seconds. It''s really not a big deal, we just shut it off a bit earlier, the quality of the water it puts out makes it all worth while. The water is completely flavor/odorless, exactly what I needed! Our municipal water contains a significant amount of bleach and other contaminants that can''t be removed using pitcher filters, but that the Aquasana IS rated to remove. If you want clean and healthy water, there is no substitute.

We have just replaced our Aquasana AQ 4050 system and wished that we had done so years ago. We replaced it with a Watts Filter-Pure UF3 system which produces much better water for a better price. The Aquasana unit produced poor tasting water, came with a cheap plastic faucet that eventually stopped working, had filters that were difficult to change, had poor customer service and was very expensive to buy new filters for. Also, the pressure in the unit is reduced such that the flow is way too slow. Aquasana will sign you up with a discount if you sign on to a program where they automatically send you replacement filters every six months they are still way too expensive even after that! I realize now that we were drinking sub-standard water from the Aquasana unit for over a year, despite all the so called specifications and website comparisons that they put out. Sorry to post a negative review but I enjoyed throwing the Aquasana unit into the trash!

First of all the water quality is very good, the filter housing is very poor. I have changed out three housings due to leakage issues. The o-rings provided are undersized for the filter housing lids and will easily move out of position when reinstalling the covers even using o-ring lubricant. The covers are light weight poor quality plastic and threaded, the thumb tabs have broken off several of the covers. An Aquasana representative reluctantly acknowledged they have a problem with the filter housings. He stated he would replace the housing free of charge if I would enroll in an automatic filter program, I refused his offer and changed to another brand of water filter at my expense. The filters themselves are somewhat pricey it appears this is where Aquasana makes their money and I would have been willing to accept that if it were not for the poor quality filter housing. I work with industrial liquid filtration systems of all kinds and have the mechanical ability to change the media in any kind of filtration system without incident until I started dealing with the Aquasana filter housing. Save yourself time and aggravation forget the Aquasana brand and look at other products on the market.
