KRUPS FLF2J4 Cordless Electric Kettle Save 22% Off

KRUPS FLF2J4 Cordless Electric Kettle, BlackThe kettle''s appearance is nice. It has high power and boils fast. Due to design of the lid the water is tightly covered so there is less evaporation.

Here are the problems.

1) The stainless floor becomes spotted and uneven really fast (faster than with my previous Braun kettle).

2) On my first unit power switch was malfunctioning. It took me 2-3-4 attempts before I could start it. I replaced the kettle with a new one and had the very same problems.

The bottom line.

If you decide to buy, don''t do it online. Buy at some place where you can easily replace the kettle if the first (second, third etc.) one is defective.

I decided to return this kettle and buy Braun for the same price.

Update 08/08/2008

After half a year I decided to give it another try and bought a new black Krups Kettle from Bad Bath And Beyond again. I hoped that they produced a new batch with the known defect fixed. Nothing has improved. The third kettle is also defective in exactly the same way power switch doesn''t work properly and turns the kettle off several seconds after turning on.

I love the features of this kettle. However, after 10 months of use, it began to leak around the seam just where the bottom of the handle joins the body of the kettle. Disappointing.

My husband thinks that small appliances are a waste of counterspace and money. I don''t always disagree, but we make press pot coffee twice a day and heating up the water on the stove took 15+ minutes and there was always floating sediment in the bottom of our kettle...sounds appetizing! I researched this kettle and liked the description that the water boiled quickly and turned off automatically....I also wanted it to retain heat and be able to be taken off of the heating source for serving. My husband (and I) really like this pot. We use it not only for coffee (full pot to boiling takes just under 5 minutes) but to boil water for pasta and other cooking. It saves me time and I don''t want to be in the kitchen all night....this is one small appliance that we do not want to be without. The only change I would make is that the handle seems a bit large for the average hand so it is not as comfortable to hold and I still have sediment...which is probably a problem with my water. At least now I can get into the pot to clean through the large opening. No weird smells here and we have been using daily for 6 months.

There are good/bad sides to anything, and here''s an attempt at an unbiased review of both:

Note: We purchased this at Bed Bath & Beyond using the discount. We had to exchange it due to the on/off switch not working, and the second kettle still works fine after 2 years. I liked it so much I got one for my mother in law as a gift. Hers is also working fine after 1 year. Personally, I''m switching to a stainless steel kettle b/c I don''t like having a plastic-lined kettle, and also the wattage is a bit too high for our kitchen (1750W is on the high end for electric kettles; some are 1500 or 1200W).

The Pros:

-item works well, have had no problems or leaks, etc.

-the high voltage heats water in just a couple minutes. i boiled 5 cups of water in 3 mins, 20 seconds. usually i boil only 2 cups at a time which is even quicker.

-not too loud as far as electric kettles go, sort of a low rumbling.

-easy to clean on the outside, dark color conceals splatters and dust

-the little switch on top lights up while it''s boiling

-there''s a trigger under the handle to open the lid. sometimes i open it to put the water in the kettle this way since the lid can be a pain (see below)

The Cons:

-for us, the high voltage has been a con, as it trips the breaker when we use our micro (which is 1100W) and the kettle (1750W) at the same time. fyi, our house is only 8 years old.

-we had trouble with the first model''s on/off switch. it wouldn''t stay on long enough to heat the water. (our 2nd kettle did not have this problem)

-the lid (on both that we tried) is a bit troublesome. you have to rotate it a bit back and forth (between "close" and "lock") to click it in place.

-the interior is the same as the exterior, a heavy-duty plastic material. the base is a silver metal, probly Stainless Steel. I am no longer comfortable boiling water in plastic for human consumption. The steel can get brownish from water deposits and needs to be cleaned (some stores sell drop-in tablets for that)--also normal.

Hope this review was helpful. I wrote it b/c I appreciate the reviews others have written! God bless, CB

I just purchased this product after alot of research of other similar

electric kettles.I followed the directions about boiling twice and I did

not detect any plastic taste or smell like other reviewers. The water boils fast, shuts off like it is supposed to, pours without steam burning

my hand and feels light even when full. I don''t really need all that water

but I like having that feature. It''s also very easy to clean. I love it!!

BestAir D88 Duracraft / Honeywell Replacement Wick Filter Save 54% Off

BestAir D88 Duracraft / Honeywell Replacement Wick FilterI bought my Honeywell humidifier a few years ago, and though it works great, all the local stores (Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) have stopped carrying the replacement filter. Such a pain! Thank goodness it was available here and at a cheaper price.

I bought the filter to use in a Honeywell humidifier. It has an aluminum outside core which helps it stand up in the humidifier. It performs as well as could be expected.

Honeywell Quick Steam Warm Moisture Humidifier

Honeywell Quick Steam Warm Moisture Humidifier, HWM-330Clearly a lot of people have had problems with this unit. When mine failed after about 6 weeks of use, I dug into it to see what was up. It ends up that the overheat protection on this thing isn''t real great. The first layer of overheat protection is provided by a sensor integrated into the heating element. I can''t tell exactly, but it seems from the element manufacturer''s literature (....) that the device sends a cut off signal between 250 and 300 C, per the chart on page 4. However, Honeywell used an NEC-Schott SF214E thermal cutoff as a backup device. This fails permanently if it''s heated to 214 C. In other words, the backup, "sacrifice the machine and not the house it''s in" device fails before the normal operation re-settable thermal cutoff. As a result, the device will probably stop working the first time it runs dry. Don''t buy it.

Of four units that were sent, three failed after one or two nights'' use. Don''t bother.

Unfortunately, my experience was the same as most other reviewers. I only got two months use out of the unit before it stopped working completely: no mist, lights or power. Honeywell makes wonderful humidifiers, but this model is a complete dud.

I have a couple of tips for other unfortunate souls who are about to return this horrible humidifier. A rep from KAZ told me to send the unit in to their Return Department and they would replace it at no cost (although I have to pay for the shipping to KAZ). If you''re returning one of these units, be sure to tell the rep to do the following: waive the $10 warranty fee, and send a different model of humidifier as a replacement. The rep I spoke to had no problem with either of these requests. Now, I''ll just have to wait and see if they follow-thru on a good replacement.

I have a newer model, 3 gallon, HMWM-331. After going through 3 other brands with very poor results this season, this one is a winner! Very quiet (no gurgling); it will not disturb an infant or a light sleeper, as opposed to the Bionaire and others, efficient and easy to clean. So far, no mineral build-up, even though our water is quite hard. It uses disposable mineral absorption pads. The only inconvenience is filling the tankit doesn''t sit flat and you need to support at an angle. but that is really minor, given the quiet efficient operation and attractive design. Low price too. This is the best we''ve ever had. The phone support is also good. Kaz works for many brands and they are quite responsive, even though many of the brands aren''t very good. I definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a very quiet warm mist unit for a mid-size room.

Want Honeywell Quick Steam Warm Moisture Humidifier Discount?

I bought a new Honeywell Quicksteam (HWM-330) several months ago from a local store, to help keep our bedroom at a comfortable humidity. The humidifier worked well enough, but less than a week after we had been using it, the unit wouldn''t turn on again the morning after we used it.

We suspected the problem was that the unit burned out after having used up its water supply during the night. To their credit, Honeywell sent us a brand new unit after we sent the broken one back to them. But once again, the new unit died after running out of water overnight, less than a week after we had received our second unit.

It would be one thing if they had advertised the unit as NOT having an auto shut-off feature. In that case, we never would have purchased it; however, we''ve had two units die after less than two weeks of CUMULATIVE use, and for the same reason. As such, I strongly recommend AGAINST purchasing this humidifier.

Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System Save 54% Off

Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System, Silver - Powered by KeurigAs many others here, I have evolved from a Keurig system. So for those thinking about buying a Keurig, please fully read all the reviews you can. If it wasnt for me being the only coffee drinker in the house, I wouldnt require a single cup brewing system. So for those looking into buying Keurig brewing system, consider the Cuisinart. It is licensed to be manufactured by Keurig, bu appears to be much better quality. I had my first Keurig go out with within 6 months. Then my second stopped functioning properly after less than 45-days. Same issue as another review, the Keurig Platinum began brewing small, random sized amounts of coffee and would also get confused on how much to brew and when to stop. Found out once it was returned to the store, the unit was recalled (for defective water pumps). Which also meant ALL the stores in town were ALL sold out...as they were all returned to the vendor.

Now, my buddy convinced me to get the Cuisinart. I have owned many Cuisinart kitchen utensils, but never anything electric. So I was skeptical to say the least. But at the same time I had to replace my last 2 Keurigs. So why not.

Now, 2 months later, a whole lot of coffee (125 servings +) and it is working great! I can only hope that Cuisinart has a more reliable vendor for there water pumps than Keurig. As that seems to be the big issue with all Keurig machines.

The Good:

-Power Switch is on the side of the machine (compared to the back of the machine on Keurigs)

-Water Tank Size

-Replaceable Charcoal Water filter

-FREE, reusable Keurig coffee filter

-Quiet

-Reliable (so far)....what a concept

-More cup size options

-"Rinse" button

-Pre-set water temps

-Auto On/Off

-Read-Out display clearly states "Not Ready" and "Ready"

-"Hot Water" button will dispense a full cup of hot water (which ever size you have selected will be dispensed in hot water)

The Bad:

-Power Switch is on the side of the machine....PUT IT ON THE FRONT ALREADY!

-Large footprint

-"Low Water Level" flashing blue LEDs are annoying. Its a clear water tank, I can see its low/empty

-Bottom catch/drip tray doesnt stay in place very well

-If you place a K-Cup inside the unit before its "Ready" (see above in The Good), it will not recognize the K-Cup once it is ready to brew. So you must lift and close the access lid one more time to allow it to brew. Not very time saving.

-"Hot Water" button will dispense a full cup of hot water; so if your machine is used primarily for coffee, you will have random loose chunks of old coffee grounds floating around in your cup of hot water since its inevitable to NOT get coffee grounds on the unit.

-Parts are not necessarily dishwasher safe. So I suggest hand washing periodically.

I will try to remember to give a 6-month review on the quality.

*****FOLLOW UP*****

08/01/2010 (175+ K-Cups)

Sadly, this follow-up is not what I had hoped. But, maybe it needs to be de-scaled/cleaned? Anyway, here is the new "problem"....(tsk tsk tsk)

The Setup: The machine, after brewing a cup will "prime" the system by sucking in what I would consider about 1/2 of the water necessary to brew a cup into the system itself. I would think this is done to heat the water inside the system, so the water temperature stays at a more consistent/constant temperature. This makes sense considering the machine has pre-set water temp setting and it must be quite difficult to keep the water exiting the system at a constant temperature.

The Fail: After brewing only one cup, the system triggers the prime function and sucks in how ever many ounces it needs. But, it doesnt suck in any water. The machine makes all the appropriate noises, but the water level inside the tank stays the same and it wont stop! This function normally takes about 3-5 seconds to complete. 10+ seconds later, it still has not achieved anything (poor little water pump)! That will be the number one killer of a water pump is dry-cycling. Argh!!!

So the solution so far is to shut off the unit, turn it back on and viola! It works! Now every time the unit does not have enough water inside, it will always prime itself by pumping in the appropriate amount of water. So this causes the water pump to work 2-3x more than most coffee pots. Maybe its over working the pump?

*Clean/De-Scale the unit: This is recommended every month or so. I have chosen NOT to do it since I use bottled (distilled) water 100% of the time along with the little charcoal filter that comes with it. I dont want to go waste 3 bottles of water cleaning out a system that should be perfectly clean anyway! I would assume the clean/de-scale is meant for people who have good tasting tap water (which we do not have in Las Vegas).

Maybe the charcoal filter is "clogged" and not allowing water to seep through as quickly? Who knows...

Ill update if anything else goes wrong!

*****FOLLOW UP*****

8/28/10

Problem continues as posted above. I have de-scaled the system, but it didn''t help. The entire system was perfectly clean and de-scaling did not dislodge anything. Ive come to now realize this isn''t really a problem as much as it is an inconvenience. You must cycle the system off/on to make it work. I let it sit a few night ago for about 3 minutes, and it never remedied itself. =0(

11/27/10 (Unit #2)

Finally had to replace it! The machine has gradually become slower, noisier and overall horribly inefficient. The machine would take forever to heat up, multiple attempts to suck water into the machine from the reservoir and then began dispensing water back into the reservoir and not brewing coffee. Last 5 days before the machine was finally returned for a new unit, brewing coffee was painful and time consuming. Took 3-4 cycles to brew a single 12oz cup. Got it replaced and got a new one last night. Amazingly, this machine really got worn out fast. The new one its a whole lot quieter, faster and some simple things like the on/off switch works a lot easier and other issues.

*****FOLLOW UP*****

03/05/2011 (Unit #3)

The water pump again took a crap on me. The unit and pump had once again slowly gotten noisier and slower. This time (the past few weeks) the unit took about 10 seconds of wait time to simply begin brewing. Just as a reminder. I am the only person using the unit. The unit runs about 1.15 servings a day on average. Pretty crappy reliability. But...more "free" coffee and a new Keurig "Make Your Own" filter. Im up to 3 now!

This unit replaces a Keurig mini that I now us for travel. It makes a flavorful, hot cup of coffee. I have been a Keurig fan for three years. I purchased this machine in Feb. 2010 from BB&B. Like other readers, I have had a few pump problems when there seemed to be an air lock in the pump and water would not flow into the heating chamber. The instruction booklet tells you to turn it off and unplug the unit, then restart. I have found that when I refill the water tank I just need to make sure it is properly seated and tap it to make sure the water is getting into the hose that pumps it into the heating chamber. I also use the hot water feature the first "brew" after refilling the tank to make sure the pump is pulling water. (The easiest solution to the pump "problem" is to not take the water chamber off of the base and just refill it with a pitcher as needed.) I did some online research and found that this pump problem was suppose to have been fixed since I purchased my machine. I might have returned this machine for the newer "fixed" model if the BB&B where I purchased it had not closed. I love the coffee from this machine and have had no further pump issues since employing the solutions noted above.

Buy Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System Now

I have both Keurig and Cuisinart K cup machines...

About me... I am an embedded systems design engineer and know about control systems and such.

Food processing products should only use parts ( components ) in the water / control systems internal to the coffee maker that are "fit for purpose" as designed to be use with WATER.. as a coffee maker uses water.

I have opened several of my failed Keurig and Cusinart K cup machines and found that they are using an AUTOMOTIVE Market Pneumatic Solenoid Valve made in China.. part number SH-V0829...Google this number if you want to check and see this. It is designed for auto seat cushon inflation and has a built in LEAK RATE of 1CC/Min at 4 PSI for air compresser unloading used in seat cushon inflation systems. It is NOT WATER PROOF and DRIPS inside the coffee makers in the transformer and the air pump near the bottom getting the electric motor wet and make it smoke.. My coffee maker was way too young to smoke .. hahha just a joke..

The folk that make this coffee maker IN CHINA think most folk are too stupid to find out about their use of cheep and unfit for purpose components inside their coffee maker. I have attached a DOOR and Hinge on the back of one of my coffee makers that I keep repaired personally.. and buy the replacement control solenoids on ebay to keep my coffee maker working.... THIS SUCKS..... I was ripped off...

I did not pay for a rusty solenoid that leaks water inside my $250.00 coffee machine. When I call Keurig... they do talk some but avoid the topic of this solenoid.. just reading a standard reply statement... When I talk to Cuisinart.. they have nothing to say but want my $10 for shipping a replacement unit... also with the same defective solenoid inside of the same type and part number...

I want to like my coffee maker.... but I do not like being treated like a fool ...

My old Mr Coffee has very nice insides... good design.. and lasted a long time... I am wanting to see Mr Coffee make a K cup that I would like... Cuisinart and Keurig are only about making money .. and not delivering INTERNAL quality of their product with this machine.. They come from the SAME China factory...and they are made using non water proof no O ring air only pneumatic solenoid valves... The part numbers are on the side of the solenoid if you care to open up your machine and look... Do not have it plugged in if you do.. safety first..

I hope you like having RUSTY water in your hot water for making tea and coffee.... the solenoid does rust internally as it is only for air usage...not made for water exposure...

I have photos and also plan to use this experince in a control system class I teach at a University as an example of poor ethics in business manufacturing...

I need not say how MAD I am over this discovery .....and the lack of interest from the folks that make this product..

Barnum and Bailey.. a sucker is born every minute... that must be their motto..

I must be a sucker... THAT SUCKS

I have been using a Keurig Platinum Machine for about a year now and had to replace it 2 times. Once for both hot and cold water draining out of the bottom of the unit and the second for making expresso size cups when I asked for the 11.25 oz. cup. I returned the Keurig and got this Brand New Cuisinart about 3 weeks ago. It works great, the water container is larger and the max cup size is 12oz. I get great cups of coffee and the machine works beautifully. I use regular tap water with the charcoal filters and the coffee taste is super. So far this machine is the best I have had and I think Cuisinart makes a superior product every time. You can make your own Kcups since Cuisinart has included one in the side of the machine for your delight at no extra cost.

Want Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System Discount?

I purchased the Cuisinart after going through 3 Keurig B70s and a Brevelle since Christmas, (all three were defective with pump problems and very LOUD.) The Brevelle 700 worked okay but had these really annoying flashing lights that flashed all the time "Open Head". The arrow lights were extremely bright and bothersome.

So far the Cuisinart SS700 works really well. Very little noise and the pump works just fine. I like the larger water tank and nothing flashes at me!

Brita On Tap Filtration System

Brita On Tap Filtration System-1 ctWe have had this filter on the tap at our office for 5 years. We have replaced the filter (top part)maybe 10 times; it has an indicator light that turns red when it is time to change.

It is a much better option than filling the Brita pitcher. No more going to the fridge and finding that the last person who poured a glass of water out of the pitcher didn''t fill it again!

I got the wrong product, ended up keeping it though.. Mounted fine to the sink. Worked OK for about 9 months now. The only thing I don''t like is that the green/red "filter change indicator" does not work. I know for fact this defect present on all of the filtration systems of that kind.

You will be lucky indeed if this product lasts a year before either it starts leaking or the aereater breaks off. I made a big mistake when I thought I would save money by buying a multi pack of replacement filters. I''ve ended up purchasing two additional faucet mounts just to use up the filters. On the positive side, Customer Service is very cooperative about sending replacement parts when it breaks in less than a year.

  • First U.S. made fixed-action shower head introduced to the American market in over 20 years
  • High Power Shower Spray
  • Perfect for use with shower filters

I bought this shower head because I was disgusted with the crud building up on our old shower head. I wanted something with no plastic and low flow, but I also wanted a powerful shower. This was relatively inexpensive, beautiful, and well-made. It took about the same amount of time to install as it does to change the nozzle on a hose (save for the time spent getting a wrench from the toolbox to remove the previous showerhead). I''m ordering a second one immediately for our other shower.

I now own two if these shower heads, and love them. I went searching for this product because I''m on a well system with less than desirable water pressure. I literally purchased no less than 7 different shower heads looking for one that actually delivered on the pressure promise. This one really improved the pressure without the harsh "spikey" like needle feel often found in similar lower cost big box store heads. This head is also solid metal, and would clearly last forever. If you''re searching for a shower head to increase water pressure, you found it. Now just buy it, and stop beating your head against the wall in frustration every time you take a shower :)

For people who live in homes with low water pressure, this product solves the problem. Using this shower head, you''ll never again complain about low water pressure while taking a shower. However, you cannot adjust the intensity of the water as there is no adjustment on the spray head. Because of this lacking feature, I actually found it painful to take a shower as the water coming from the spray head felt like sharp pins. But, then, I have friends who have also purchased this same shower head, and they love the feel of the water coming from it.

not powerful enough, not much of a spread in spray, might be good for a kids shower

that would be it. I returned for Refund.

"Waste" output line output is best served by collecting in a rain barrel for future plant use/watering." The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the input line (from garden hose to white input line is NOT a swivel fitting and some planning/thought is needed to prevent lines from damage when connecting).

Saeco Xelsis SS Automatic Espresso Machine, Stainless Steel Save 21% Off

Saeco Xelsis SS Automatic Espresso Machine, Stainless SteelI have (now you can say had!!) the Saeco Primea Touch Plus. I mainly make cappucinos. With the Primea, I had issues with the milk temperature (too cold) and no milk foam. Also, the cleanup was a pain.

I decided to try the Xelsis and I am glad that I did. So far I have had the machine for about two weeks and it is a winner. The milk comes out hot and the foam is perfect (looks like micro-foam done by a wand). It is easy to maintain and has worked flawless. The only negative is that the drip tray is kind of small but is it very quick and easy to empty. If you are looking for a quick and easy cappucino this machine is for you.

...........Ed

I bought this machine as an upgrade to my Talea Touch Plus. And I have to say I think Philips ownership is starting to show. First, we got one that had all kinds of odd problems. The "Error E05" when I went to prime the pump was frustrating, but eventually unplugging the unit, plugging it in, and restarting it got around the issue. The front of the unit (which unlatches and swings out to reach the brew group) NEVER stayed completely closed and would go slightly out of alignment with the rest of the unit.

So we exchanged it.

The new unit has the same door issue (tho less promient).

The unit never reports to add coffee beans when it''s empty. Fine we can pop the lid open and look, but that''s hardly working as advertised.

We also have a problem where the milk frother will occasionally just sputter and not dispense steamed milk. Cleaning the frother only seems to have limited success.

And when I call to ask questions from Philips (formerly Saeco USA)? If the tech in question doesn''t know the answer, you get the generic response of; "Take it back for service unless you bought it recently and then just have the retailer exchange it".

Really Philips?

Overall the machine does a really good job. But for me to give it a 5-star rating it''d have to do an *outstanding* job for the money I paid. And it simply is not outstanding vs. the money spent.

Sodastream 1l Carbonating Bottles- BlackAs of yet, there are no alternative bottles to fit SodaStream machines, so you pay top dollar for these. However, they work great and last a long time. Each has a rubber gasket in the cap which helps keep the carbonation in.

My only complaint is that the plastic tends to absorb the taste of any soda syrups you may use, so you may want to keep the bottles that you use for making pure sparkling water separate from those that you use to make flavored soda. You could easily differentiate between the two by purchasing different colors of plastic (black, white, green, orange, gray) or metal (stainless) for each purpose.

I like to keep these bottle clean...So, once I make a bottle of soda, I pour the soda into an airtight plastic jug or container...and immediately flush out the carbonating bottle and let it air dry. As the instructions say...Do NOT clean these in a dishwasher..no matter how low the heat setting is. And, again per the instructions, NEVER carbonate anything but water...Anything else (soda mix, crystal lite, ice tea) will cause the bottle to back-flush on you while you are carbonating...possibly causing the bottle to burst or leak or fail or spray like a fire hose...I decided to "test" the instructions in this regard and learned the hard way

These extra bottles come in handy. I love my SodaStream and use it all the time. My only wish is that the bottles were dishwasher safe. I tried running them through without with the high temp wash or heat dry and they still melted. Also, I wouldn''t purchase the flavored mixes unless you are a fan of generic/store brand colas and such.

Great sturdy bottles and they arrived very quickly. Am please with the purchase and even happier to no longer lug home the multiple cans of seltzer we bought week after week for years.

Some of these negative reviews surprise me. For the people having trouble with them melting...the warning NOT to put them in hot water or a dishwasher is in at least 3 places on the starter pack, on the packaging of the extra bottles, and printed on the bottle itself. I think it''s unfair to give a low review b/c it''s not dishwasher safe especially since there are dishwasher safe bottles available for a few more dollars. There are also .5L bottles available for the people that said 1L is too much or goes flat.

We have a total of 4 bottles and they get used every day (I love seltzer water!). They show no wear and tear. Even the printing on the bottle is still 100% intact.

If you are having trouble with the taste or scent of soda staying in the bottle, try soaking them in baking soda. When I''m done with a bottle I mix about a teaspoon of baking soda with a cup of lukewarm water then pour it into the bottle and fill it all the way up. Shake or swirl and let it sit. I usually leave it at least an hour but I''ve never tested how long it takes to smell clean. But it works every time. My mom used to do this for stinky baby bottles!!

Had this filter when it developed a tiny crack near the filter life window. Within a month it had hairline cracks all over filter case. More water leaked out of the case than went through the filter.

The actual filtering action was effective but the enclosure (which costs at least as much as the filter itself) promptly developed cracks at the filter cover and faucet fitting. This happened in two separate occassions, so we''ve decided to give up on this product.

Can''t recommend it.

I''ve been satisfied with this filter up until now. About 3 weeks ago, it developed a crack in it. I have no idea why these PUR filters seem to crack alot, after reading several other reviews. I''ve never bumped mine or dropped it. The filters aren''t cheap to buy, but now the filter itself is cracked and i''m stuck with a couple extra filters. I may try to sell them on ebay. I won''t buy another one of these.

I''ve used this filter for years. They''ve always worked great. If you have a problem, just email them and they will send you a coupon good for a new one. I think the cracks are a new problem as I''ve never had that problem. I wrote them once asking if there was a kit to keep it from coming out both places at once and they sent me a coupon for a new one.

Homax Group Inc 2275 OOPS All-Purpose Remover And Cleaner 16 oz

Homax Group Inc 2275 OOPS All-Purpose Remover And Cleaner 16 ozThis stuff works. We had a scratch and some yellow paint on the front fender of our SUV from my wife leaving a parking lot. We had tried all kinds of things and a lot of elbow grease to get it off. It had been on for a year before someone told us to try Oops. It wiped right off with this stuff. Truly amazing product

Have used the original Oops in the past...& it worked. The new, improved, reformulated product does not work. After much saturating the dried paint & scrubbing away..ended up ordering the original formula so I can get the paint splatters off the woodwork in a timely fashion. Waste of time & money.

Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System

Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration SystemI bought this and wasn''t sure what to expect. After quite a bit of research I did know this is a smokin deal for a filter which is NSF 42 and 53 certified. (You need that.) I also checked out replacement filter costs and frequency and this unit is very reasonable.

Pros: It filters water very well. I live in LA and the tap water is horrid. Both my Husband and I like the taste.

Filters are cheap and easy to instal. Whole thing is SUPER easy to use.

Cons: The Cold and Hot tanks only fill up one glass each before they have to do their thing to make it hot or cold. I was expecting something like a tankless water heater where the water runs past the hot coils. This has tanks...

It takes what seems like a long time to filter but once you get it going and you continually add water to the top you won''t run out.

This is not a con but you should definitely read the instructions on how to treat the filter before installing and using. ;) I didn''t do it right so I just had to drain it and start over. Not that big of a deal.

Overall, I love it. Money well spent!!

I own the 2 gallon Cuisinart CleanWater System and have been using it for 3 weeks with no problems. The cold water is cold, and the hot water is HOT. Set up was minimal with the exception of soaking the filter. I have not experienced any leakage or any problems whatsoever. My family has not bought bottled water since we started using this. I really love the design and how it fits neatly in the corner of my kitchen counter tops.

The product works fine in terms of filtering and cooling water, but it''s really LOUD and even in Energy Save Mode, the fan runs almost constantly. After awhile you start to forget about it, since it''s a steady white-noise, but then it stops and you realize how nice and quiet everything just became, only for it to turn back on a few minutes later. You wouldn''t think a major concern about a water filtering system would be the noise, but I''m honestly ready to set it out for Goodwill...

It worked fine for the first three weeks. Nice clean water taste, nice cold temperature.

Then it stopped cooling the water.

I called Cuisinart, and they said, oh yes, no problem it happens all the time. The cooling unit has frozen and just needs to thaw. Unplug it and leave it off for several hour to thaw.

Hmmm, I thought it''s brand new, and I have to unplug it to work properly? Not a good sign.

Replace it with a new one? Maybe but that means pack it, pay for the shipping to return and the shipping for the replacement.

Since I unplugged it, the water has been tasting extremely like plastic. So tonight I called Cuisinart again.

They said, oh yes, no problem it happens all the time. If the water tastes like plastic, just flush the system with eight cups of pure lemon juice.

I don''t have eight cups of pure lemon juice on hand, so who knows how this will be resolved.

But a word to the wise if you do buy this lovely device, budget some measure of your time for troubleshooting.

We just received our Cuisinart water filtration system from Amazon on Friday and have been using it all weekend. The directions to set it up are easy to follow and really looks nice in our kitchen.

Like many people we wanted to go away from bottled water to help the environment and save money at the same time.

We selected the WCH-1500 to pick up the hot water feature and it immediately replaced our tea kettle which has sat on the stove for years. The temperature is perfect and instant hot water is a real plus.
