Cuisine Clean - Fruit and Vegetable Washer Save 24% Off

Cuisine Clean - Fruit and Vegetable Washer - oZoneWow, what a disappointment! The product comes fully assembled except for a small mesh bag with charcoal dust in it that needs to be insalled in the lid. Not only did I get the charcoal all over my hands but the thing keeps falling out of the lid as I run the unit! But this isn''t the worst part. Over the holidays I had a friend over that is a chemist and I was showing her the unit. To her, the odor that was coming out of the unit just wasn''t quite right. She asked if it was okay for her to take into work today and she just called to tell me that the unit was emitting 1,200 times the amount of ozone that is allowed by UL and OSHA!! I may not get the wording right here but I guess the allowable limit is around 50ppb (parts per billion) and according to her equipment this unit pumped out about 62ppm (parts per million) on a consistent basis. Do the math and that is over 1,200 times the allowable limit set by UL and OSHA!! How does a unit like this get carried by reputable retailers? According to my friend, the bag of charcoal on top is there for a reason, that is to break down any excess ozone as it escapes the lid. When you visit the company website they ask you to change this every 10 uses...at a cost of $4.95/baggie. Now there''s an extra cost I never knew about when I bought the unit! Unfortunately, this bag of charcoal doesn''t seem to be do anything...or at least not enough to get these emissions down to the right level. Mind you, once the process is done and you lift the lid, the stench of this ozone gas is so overpowering I have to always back away first...is this safe for me? What if I had children? Will it effect my pets? What really has me upset now is that I went back to the website to check out the safety procedure to follow and when you go into the MSDS section they have a lab report prepared for DEL and Air Liquide. How do these test results relate to my CuisineClean? I guess I should have looked closer before purchasing but I got mesmerized by the claims and missed some of these smaller details. Oh yeah, and one more thing, fill it with apples as per their instructions and it is unbelievable what you get out...they may be clean but they are cut and bruised all over. I can''t see how this would make them last any longer?!

I returned this product because using it scared my family and I. I started juicing 6 months ago and was concerned about the safety of the fruits and vegetables I was using. So I was excited when I saw this product. But just as another reviewer said, this product put off a horrible smell in my home which caused me grave concern. It also slashed up my fruit and vegetables if the unit was filled to the top. I had to only put stuff in half way up in the unit in order for it not to damage the fruit. I called Vesture to inquire about the smell coming from the Cuisine Clean. The only response he could give me was that he also owned a unit, it did have a strong odor coming from it, but he "liked" the smell!!! He also stated that I could continue to use it by placing it outside, which would also solve the charcoal issue because then I wouldn''t have to use the filter/charcoal. This seemed absurd to me since I live in a cold climate, plus it would be a bother to transport this thing back and forth, inside to outside. So after reading the reviews on Amazon (which I should have done BEFORE my purchase) I decided to return this product before time ran out on me. I had to pay to ship it back, plus pay a 15% restocking fee but at least I got some of my money back and I wasn''t stuck with this lemon. The seller was very gracious during the return but it was an expensive lesson to be reminded to check the reviews before I purchase anything and even more importantly, believe the reviews if there are more negative reviews than positive. The idea behind this product is a good one but they have a long way to go to convince me that it is a safe product to operate in my home. It may kill germs on fruits and vegetables but what it is spewing into your home''s air may be worse than those germs. I think I''ll wait until they perfect this type of product before I commit to purchasing anything like it again and stay with hand washing. A friend told me that I could get the same sanitizing results by washing my fruits and vegetables using the following: place them in a solution of 1/2 to 1 teaspoon bleach to 1 gallon of water for a minute, then rinse them thoroughly.

We purchased a unit a couple years ago and it just died...looks like a broken or shredded belt/pulley and the unit no longer spins. I''ve visited to Vesture site and tried to email their customer service and emails sent to 3 different addresses have bounced back so we are just tossing this junk in the trash.

I''m sure since it is outside the 1 year warranty getting a replacement unit for this obvious design flaw is not going to happen. Seems like another item that barely outlives its warranty period before dying...this is becoming the norm with many products.

We did not even get a chance to wear this unit out. While it was working it seemed to clean things without any problems but you really are "trusting" it is cleaning..how can you tell if fruit/veges are actually clean...I agree with the one reviewer...the odor released does stink and I was wondering if ozone spewing into our house air is safe even with a filter.

We''re just going back to hand washing...it served us well for years and hand washing never wears out and is cheap....;-)

Like my review title..good while it lasted..

Peace...

Cons:

Flimsy construction

Produces a noticeable ozone smell (ozone is toxic)

Leaks water

Takes longer than I thought (about 20 minutes) to complete the recommended cleaning cycle for produce like spinach, apples and strawberries

Pros:

That ozone smell gives me confidence it''s working ;)

A single (thoroughly miserable) bout of food poisoning that hospitalized me was enough to sell me on this product. I continue to use this it in spite of its cons, because it seems to be the only product of its type available and I have access to a well ventilated area where it can run away from my family. I''ve seen other reviews that mention damage to produce, but I haven''t experienced that. Overall, I wish that another company would manufacture a higher quality product with a better seal and better ozone deactivation.

We bought this unit because we were moving to central Africa with our 5 month old baby. The idea of bleaching food that I am feeding to my child seemed crazy. We have had the product for 5 months and have had no problems with it. I have not noticed the "overpowering" smell that others have complained about. There is a mild ozone smell, but nothing worse than after a good lightening storm. Perhaps we have a more open kitchen and the smell can dissipate more. But this product has made me feel much more secure in making homemade baby food for our little one.

HWF80 Holmes Humidifier Replacement Filter

HWF80 Holmes Humidifier Replacement Filter w/Brita Pitcher FilterI purchased a Holmes humidifier at Bed, Bath & Beyond 11 years ago, and it still works today. They no longer sell this model and no longer carry replacement parts, but they were impressed and surprised to hear that it''s still going strong after 11 years. I''ve taken it apart to clean the blade, the interior, the metal parts and the wiring, so the cover doesn''t close like it used to (3 screws instead of 4) but it still works well. If you live in a big city, you''ll notice that the filter and the entire humidifier will get dirty much faster. In a small city not so much.

This item would not install correctly. The design is not compatible with the 9010 filter used in Kenmore 106 series (and others) refrigerators. In fact, installing this filter may damage the filter housing (filter water shutoff valve). It cost me over $100 to fix my unit because of this design difference!! BEWARE!

SoleusAir Energy Star 45 Pint Dehumidifier Save 34% Off

SoleusAir Energy Star 45 Pint Dehumidifier, #DP1-45-03I purchased from menards for 149.99 on sale a few days ago to replace an old reliable noisy westinghouse. This unit is very quiet in comparison and does an excellent job of removing water. I called customer service 2 times on just simple questions and both times I actually was able to talk to a real person within a mater of minutes. Customer service was extremely helpful and actually was from the USA. Great service! The owners manual is very short, simple and well done. I am very pleased and I have done a lot of research on other units. This unit is excellent.

I purchased this item on 5/1/2011.

I shopped around from best buy, home depot,PC richards and Loews.

I saw different brands and prices and Im not one to buy the first thing I see.

My Old dehumidifier lasted 10 yrs so decided to get a new and improved energy saver for my basement

becuase thats where I use it.

I have a temp and digital humidity unit in the basement that tells me the levels of the basement.

I bought this unit becuase it had and looked like a well made product and price.

Well, Im really happy with this unit. Alot more quiet alot less noise compared to my old one and it works great.

I will say this unit if you want 50% percent humidity you can punch 50% but Your humidity level will be real low

wherever you have it in the house.

I like my basement at 50% humidity so the level set on the unit is 70%.

Day in and day out my basement stays at 50% percent.

I read the other negative comments but I think these people just didnt know how to use the unit or whatever.

Also from the negative comments I can relate when you want to press the desired humidity level Like 50% level

But as soon as you enter 50% the numbers will change.

The unit will not display the number of the desired humidity level you enter.

So for me to get 50% humidity level I have to set the unit at 70%.

With a humidity guage you can figure sooner or later what range you want desired.

Not for nothing but this unit really works for me, Im happy with it and recommend it.

You can buy a digital humidity guage at any garden store, radioshack,or hardware store.

Its like a temperature guage but displays the percentage of humidity and very cheap $$$.

My older unit was a rotating knob that had no numbers, nothing just some scale going from low to high.

The only way to achieve 50% percent was to rotate the knob until my digital humidity show 50% humidity after the unit

working over night etc.

I dont know how these other brands of de-humidiers work but I recommened getting a digital Humidity unit..

The only negative point I found was in the instruction manual they DO NOT tell you where to find the

air filter to clean when its dirty!

The Air filter is behind the front vents of the unit.

Just remove the bottom half where the water is collected, the bucket you need to dump when the water is full.

If you take your fingers and just underneath the front vents you can pull down the airfilter that looks like any other airconditioner filter.

Thats it. clean and let dry and slide it back in its slot!

Buy SoleusAir Energy Star 45 Pint Dehumidifier Now

I purchased this device a couple of days ago at Menards, and so far am very pleased with it.

It is quiet. I have it in the basement and can''t hear it running from upstairs.

It really pulls out the moisture. I have to empty it 2-3 times a day as I''ve not tried hooking up a hose drain to it yet. There is no problem in pulling out the drain bucket to empty it or putting it back into place.

I''ve read the complaints about the humidity readings fluctuating. I''ve not compared the dehumidifiers humidity level reading with another device to see how it compares. However, I think some people have a misconception about how the humidity level setting works. And...what I''m about to describe is just my theory as I''ve not seen it documented anywhere. You initially push the + or buttons to adjust the humidity level setting, but shortly thereafter, the reading will change from where you had it set. This new reading is the actual current humidity level in the room where the dehumidifier is placed. It will go lower as the humidity is drawn out of the room.

My only complaint so far is that the dehumidifier is made in China, according to the box. But...when I looked at GE models @ Wal-mart, they were also made in China...plus the GE box was printed in both English and Spanish.

Only time will tell how this dehumidifier holds up. I''ll provide an update if I have any problems

Update on 6/13/2011 This dehumidifier is still doing a good job of removing moisture from the air. The problem is, it never completely shuts off. Once it reaches the targeted humidity level, the fan will continue to run. The dehumidifier I owned before would shut off completely until the humidity level rose above the set level. I find it hard to believe this unit is Energy Star compliant with this drawback.

Update on 6/18/2011 I hooked a drain hose up to the unit two days ago. That all works fine, no leaks, no problems. Today, I noticed for the first time, that the unit had shut off (reached the set humidity point). It then later started up again....so, I retract my previous statement that the unit never shuts off. I''m a happy camper and recommend this unit.

I''ve had the dehumidifier running for a week now. It has some nice features, like a dial showing the existing room humidity and the ability to set a target humidity. It has a 45 pint tank, which must be removed and emptied when full. That''s all fine, but when I tried to connect a garden hose to run the water away to a drain, I discovered a design flaw. The threaded hose connection inside the dehumifier is butted up against the interior wall of the machine, so it''s almost impossible to get one''s fingers or most wrenches or pliers around the coupling ring of the hose to screw it on. Only about 1/2 of the hose connection of the dehumidifier is accessible. By laying the dehumidifier on its side, using small pliers, and turning the hose ring about 1/16 turn (or less) at a time, I was finally able to make the connection. I''m therefore downgrading my otherwise favorable review. I cannot believe that the person who designed this device ever tried to actually connect a hose to it.

We bought one of these three days ago to replace a 70 pint unit I''ve had for about four years. That one was a ComfortAire I bought from Amazon. They had the best price and the unit was made here in Michigan. That one still runs, but the humidistat isn''t even close to accurate. We call it the "747" because when it runs, it sounds like a jet taking off. I''ll sell it cheap to somebody. Anyway, we bought this Soleus. Quiet. Easy to empty. Convenient. This one is in my work shop. We liked it so well we went back to the store and bought a 70 pint for the basement. The same compliments apply to the larger unit. Ignore Consumer Reports ratings; this is a good one. If you read their reviews, the unit they rate #1 had one of the three they tested not even work, and they still rated it #1? Yeah, right.

Zero Water ZR-017 2 Pack Replacement Filter

Zero Water ZR-017 2 Pack Replacement Filter
  • Zero Water Filter
  • Meets the FDA definition for purified bottled water
  • Activated carbon infused micron cloth
  • Multi-layer system using activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy
  • Comprehensive ION EXCHANGE array

I''ve used these for 3 years now. And each filter lasted at least 3-4 months.

Zero Water is now selling a different version (If only I could get the straight ones like these).. they are tapered at the bottom. They last about 1 month.

In addition, even overnight, the water does not filter through I''ve had to hold the tank up and make sure there''s no air bubbles caught in the filter.

Big thumbs down used to be a great product. Now I''m looking for the old type filters (the ones that look like these in the picture) and simultaneously alternatives for filtering water.

When they changed the style of the filter the resultant water flow has decreased. It can now take hours for the water to drain through the filter. We are using the filters in a ZeroWater Bottle filtration system that is supposed to replace 5 gallon bottles. I will be looking for another type of filtration system. I have decided that filtered water that sits in plastic isn''t very good for me anyway, and since this has become frustrating it is time to switch.

I''ve had zero technology for over 10 years on our counter over the years has changed canisters and shape of filters but never lost its worth with us we keep coming back for more and will never get rid of it.

Love these ... will keep getting them for our pitcher. They last longer than other filters so far and works very well.

CQE-FM-00500

CQE-FM-00500Assuming that the filter cartridge works as advertised, I rate this a superior product (with caveats).

I have used other name brand faucet filters such as Culligan and PUR, and they were okay, but this one seems to have a more sturdy build, especially for the price. In addition, the flow rate is much better. With the others, it took over two minutes to fill a one-gallon jug; with this, about 35 seconds.

It also pivots out of the way with ease, whereas the others have an annoying friction, probably due to o-ring seals.

Yet, the CrystalQuest doesn''t leak (after four months'' use). It remains to be seen whether or not it will develop leaks; the others did after about a year of use. I suspect this one is less susceptible to leaks, due to its flow rate, which indicates much less back pressure.

Caveats: although the filter is highly rated, it does seem I get more of a chlorine taste than I did with my previous buys. And also, when I bought it, the filter cartridges were rated for a year/2000 gallons (much better than the others, typically 3 months/200 gallons), yet my warranty says void if the cartridge is used for more than six months.

Huh? Shouldn''t the system be warranted for as long as the cartridge?

Anyway, for the price, I rate it better than the others I have used, and the price is right. The replacement cartridges are also more reasonablypriced than the bigger name brands.

It was very easy to install and includes a quick switch between filtered water and regular tap water. Initially, the water tasted very much like chlorine or a chemical. They ask you to run it for 5 seconds each time you use it before using it. After a week or so either I got used to the weird taste or the weird taste mostly disappeared. However, we''ve now had it for a few weeks and someone in our household noticed that after filling a water bottle with water from the tap, when they reopened the full water bottle it smelled a little like chlorine. We will probably keep the filter for now, but eventually we will probably replace it with something else, even though the something else will probably have a lower number of gallons filter life.

Gteat filter. Bought it in white. Installed in minutes. Comes with two faucet thread adapters. Tastes as good if not beter than water from my brita pitcher and much more conveinent. Removes many more contaminents that competing brands and filter is supposed to last six months.

Review update 2/27/2011: The on/off flow control valve broke off today so I am reducing my rating. Its a shame because it was a nice unit un till this.

Purenex FT-1 Countertop Water Filter System Save 12% Off

Purenex FT-1 Countertop Water Filter System
  • Reduces Chlorine taste & odors and improves taste
  • Features 1 Micron Solid carbon block Filter Cartridge
  • Easy to install and use - Inexpensive and Convenient
  • Great tasting more healthy water
  • Convenient - quality water right at your tap.

Just wanted to note a correction to the lengthy review previously posted 2/13/08 by Waterboy, which stated that this Bestfilters Countertop model was the same as the Paragon mdl 2900ct. This is not the case. I do not know if there is any difference in the filtering abilities of either (likely not) but I do know that this Bestfilters unit has a metal spout mounted on the side, instead of the built-in upper plastic spout of the Paragon, and comes w/a KX Industries-made "KX Matrikx PB1" filter cartridge inside -not one made by Paragon, and takes industry standard 10" sized replacement filters.

With carbon block filters such as these of the same size/construction, no brand make is better than another''s. The only way to improve your filtration (other than getting a reverse osmosis system) is to increase the amount of filter media the water passes through. So either add an additional filter unit in-line, or get a unit that takes a larger carbon filter. Or to lesser extent, slow down the flow of water passing through the filter, for more filter media contact time.

It''s good to have a unit that takes a non-proprietary filter, as it gives you options of where and what to buy re replacement filters. Learned when my old PUR countertop unit''s repl filters were discontinued. This Bestfilters model accepts a standard 10" cartridge; I am not sure if the Paragon does or not.

ps. the other model non-replaceable filter "maintenance-free" countertop units made by Paragon do Not have as good a filter as the ones noted above, and Paragon CS told me they were designed to remove only chlorine for taste/odor reduction.

I just moved from WA state to San Jose, CA and was disgusted by the taste and smell of the city water here. It may meet regs for safety, but who cares if nobody can stand to drink it? In desperation, I went to buy a small faucet Brita unit and it barely touched the stink and taste, so I knew I needed something with more carbon contact time and capacity. All the hardware stores wanted to sell the big undersink units and I''m not about to install that in a rental, so a countertop was what I needed. None of the stores I went to had them, so Amazon to the rescue.

This BestFilters unit is the cure for BAD water and the flow rate is really good. Supposed to last for 2500 gallons but I dont believe it. Maybe with normal water, but this San Jose stuff should trash it in half that time. Even so, still a good deal compared to the small toy filters for the faucet. This one installs in minutes and bam!, instant bottled water taste/quality. Highly recommended.

Great filter, great price, and a low cost of ownership...

Though I want to be forward with my biases. I am convinced water filters and bottled water for health reasons are unnecessary for cityfolk... what comes to your house if you get city water is very likely to be fine... in fact.. great; compared to what the rest of the world drinks, and especially compared to what people used to drink.

It may smell or taste funny, but not because its bad for you. Tests are conducted at the water treatment facility constantly, and they send you, and the powers that be, a water quality report regularly. Learn to read it. You will see that from the source, the municipal water standards are better than a) bottled water must be, and b) what most filters actually filter out.

That said... bottled water is usually just tap water... and filtered only for flavor, and maybe a little sodium added. Sometimes your really unlucky, and its well water (or gravity fed spring water) or artesian well water (lower water table under pressure.. less organic toxins, and more inorganic ones)... measured via the inferior FDA standards for water, and then only if its brought over state lines. Remember the FDA are the people that think less than 2% bug guts and rat poop in food is just fine.

I trust my unfiltered tap water over bottled water.

Most filters? They are one of two things... aesthetic filters that remove the most common substances that cause bad flavors, odor, and color (water pitchers, disposable filters, whole house filters, faucet mounts), possibly leaving all kinds of stuff you don''t want in your mouth, or something like ultraviolet sterilization that leaves all the bad non-living substances but kills germs, or ceramics that are little better than aesthetic filters, or reverse osmosis filters that create a mineral free water which replaces those minerals with whatever it touches, like the container its in, or the carbon dioxide in the air... becoming acidic.. dissolving more potentially nasty stuff...

I trust my unfiltered tap over a bad filter.

Oh... long story short; You get this filter, and you live in the city, and you got this water thing licked. Its going to taste good, and that 1 micron filter will give you all the peace of mind you need. Even if your water was as scary as you fear, this filter would take care of it. Lead, chlorine, copper, cryptosporidium, volatile organic chemicals, plastic softeners, all out. You get a replacement filter every six months for $30 and you''ll be just fine. You''ll spend less on this superior housing and filter than you will on anything else out there now... even the junk that doesn''t work is more expensive.

This filter is great. Its manufactured by Paragon and is often rebranded..

Look closely, and you''ll see that this is the same model as the chrome filter that sells from Gaiam for $100, and the same as the chrome model that sells from Amazon from this store (Bestfilters) for $88... they both use the exact same filter cartridge inside.

The extra $30-50 is for chrome colored plastic and maybe a brand. My suggestion is to save your money. Go with the white plastic. If you don''t, you are probably a sucker, and would better enjoy a $350 filter that does the same thing as this one. May I suggest Multipure, or any other filter from a multilevel marketing company?

Buy this and you are getting a good deal.

What about quality? Don''t take my word for it... check the reviews on this model (the 2900) and the Chrome model (the 3200). On every site I could find the average review is 4.5 to 5 stars. I definitely give it that as well. It does what its supposed to.

Secondly, many companies put their reputations on the line when they rebrand and put their name on these filters. The quality is there. This filter isn''t going to break in six months and flood your counter like... the Aquasana countertop filter reportedly does... constantly.

If you don''t have municipal water... then you should be getting your well, or canteen, or cistern, or whatever the heck you have tested regularly. Consult a professional (not Amazon reviews) for your special needs... you probably don''t have a countertop to set this filter on anyway... :)

One more bias... I am a bartender. I have nothing to do with the water filter industry, despite my glowing review of this one product. I''ve spent all this time learning about water because I was very nearly fooled by a waterfiltercomparisons web site that pretends to be unbiased, but is actually run by the president of a water filter company... complete with fake ''consumers digest" award... (I challenge you to subscribe to consumer''s digest. go ahead. try.) It made me angry.

I spent a day on the national science foundation website reading about water filters and looking through their database of certifications (and picking the best of the best), and even went so far as to track down and interrogate a Paragon engineer about their filters. I actually read my municipal water report, and spent the time researching it long enough to understand what it said. I watched a half hour tv program about water, its bottling history (a scam 100 years ago), where it comes from, and how its treated. I read New York Times editorials about why we should be drinking tap water... and on and on...

I did all that so I wouldn''t be scammed. I''ve written all of this so you won''t be scammed either.

This is an amazing product that is easy to install and works so well you''ll wonder why you ever bothered to schlep bottled water into you house in the past. The water from this filter tastes clean and fresh. The price is excellent for all it does. It''s easy to wonder if the original marketer Sears is trying to downplay its availability because it works better than most of their much more expensive models.

The one serious flaw is that earlier models have a plastic tube that connects the faust to the unit, and the plastic breaks, splits or shears off easily. I got two broken ones in the mail and had to return them for exchange. But newer models seem to have a connector made of metal that is much more durable. Be sure to get that style.

Product is simple to install, only takes a couple of minutes. Water comes out clean with no odor and a great taste.

Pros:

-Unit can be used with many 10 inch water filters, not just one particular brand.

-Simple to use.

-No leakage between filter attachment and faucet.

Cons:

-Water comes out of the spout for a couple seconds after faucet is turned off.

-No indicator for filter replacement.

So far, I am happy with my purchase.

Neoperl Faucet Aerator Water saving Dual Threaded/ Aerated Stream 1.5 gpm Save 57% Off

Neoperl Faucet Aerator Water saving Dual Threaded/ Aerated Stream 1.5 gpm -WaterSenseI''m an environmentalist. I recycle and strive to reduce my impact on the nature. I live in apartment building so water is part of the maintenance bill.

I have bought this item primarily to conserve water. It had replaced my 2.0 GPH aerator. The best thing about it, is that my mother (whom I didn''t tell anything about the swap) did not notice anything! So, in short this is perfect for bathroom faucets saves water / money / and acts the same as 2.0 GPH aerators.

Oh, and I should mention that it is VERY easy to install with just appropriate sized pliers (to unscrew the old aerator).

I''m planning on buying about three more units for my friends.

I purchased a couple of these at my local Home Depot for $3.69 each (SKU: 705-654, UPC: 008359100860). I installed the filters in all the bathrooms in my house and the kitchen faucet and had no problems with any of the ones installed in the bathrooms but the one installed in the kitchen faucet had really low water pressure and delayed release of water once the handle was turned on. I removed the filter from the kitchen faucet and pressure returned to normal.

Its a good product for the bathrooms but depending on the water pressure and faucet model that you have in your kitchen it might not be so good for your kitchen faucet, you might want to try a filter that is 2.0 gpm for the kitchen or leave the one that your faucet came with on the faucet (which is probably a 2.5 gpm filter).

Pros

-----------

It worked wonderfully in all of my bathroom faucets with no problems.

It helps control the flow of water so it comes out more smoothly from the faucet instead of wildly and spraying everywhere

Saves water

Low Price

Easy to install

Comes with both inner and outer threads so it works in all faucets and is simple to install

Cons

-----------

Didnt work well in my kitchen faucet, it had low water pressure and it took a about 2 seconds for the water to start flowing with the filter on in the kitchen faucet once the handle was turned on.

Suggestion

-----------

Only buy it for your bathroom faucets, and if you want to save money on shipping you might want to check out your local Home Depot instead of buying it online. I purchased 4 of them from my local Home Depot for $3.69 each from the plumbing department. I suggest using a 2.0gmp filter or leaving the stock filter on your kitchen faucet, 1.5gpm doesnt cut it for the kitchen.

Nobody has noticed the decreased water flow from the faucet, which is good! Used this in my kitchen as the 2.2 gpm aerator seemed like overkill. It was. Why doesn''t everyone use low flow aerators?

The stream is just right for use in our master bath. The higher pressure streams do a good job of cleaning off toothbrushes, razors, and other sink items.

It is not easy to drink from the faucet any more. I solve that by cupping my hand under the faucet and drinking from my hand.

Cuts the water bill so fast you recover the money in the first month. I bought 6 more.

So I''ve been using it for a few months now and WOW has this cut water consumption.

I live off a cistern, a/k/a a big water tank so I have to be careful and wait for rain. This is just the best water saving device I have ever used. Nice clean flow and it''s amazing how much water I was wasting.

If you pay for water this will cut your bill, if you are conserving water this is the ticket.

Now if they only made one for the toilet.

Santevia Water Filtration System

Santevia Water Filtration System - Counter Top Model, 1 UnitI LOVE this water filter. We didn''t order it from Amazon because I just discovered they ship and sell it. Now that I know I will be ordering the replacement filters. Occasionally I have to drink regular tap water and I am shocked at how different and gross it tastes. Our system has never leaked as another review indicated. Nothing has cracked either. It was survived 2 moves one across the country. I couldn''t live without Santevia water!

I wanted a filter that did not depend on electricity and would not be as wasteful as my ro system. This system does exactly what it claims on the company website. That being said, if you are looking for a wide spectrum water filter that aggressively removes all contaminants... or is useable with anything but tap water-you will have to look elsewhere.

My one complaint... like numerous others I have seen complaining about the spout leaking; so does my unit (very minor leak but very annoying). I suspect the trouble is with the relatively thin and cheap quality washers that are included with the Santevia for the water tap fitting on the container wall. The silicone washers that seal between the upper and lower containers at the ceramic filter are very thick, high and high grade. I suspect that if the Santevia people would have not cheaped out on these tap washers that there would be no leak problems at all. I plan to go and buy my own to remedy the problem.

I did not buy this from Amazon because, at the time, I didn''t realize they sold it. I bought my Santevia Counter Top model approximately seven months ago. I love it. The water tastes fresh and clean and you can actually see the difference in the water quality when you look at the top tank versus the bottom one. I have not had any problems with leakage or such. The only reason I gave this system 4 stars is because Santevia still has not come out with a filter to remove fluoride. But the missing star is strictly for the filter. Other than that, I am more than pleased with my purchase. Cleaning the pre-filter is a snap. It takes all of about a minute. I use this water for drinking, cooking, tea making, soups, smoothies, coffee, etc. I had never really seen crystal clear water until this system. I would definitely recommend.

I did not buy my unit from Amazon but I wanted to comment on how much we love the water this product produces. We have nasty tasting tap water and I bought the Santevia model that fits into a water cooler. I can''t vouch for the countertop leakage since I didn''t get that model, thus I give 5 stars. The water that you get is crystal clear and tastes amazing. You can even see the slight cloudiness in the top tank before filtration and the clear, sparkling water in the lower tank after filtration. You won''t believe the nasty stuff that remains in the top tank I have to clean the prefilter AND top tank pretty often. But that''s OK I would rather clean it out than drink it! I also use the water for baking and boiling pasta and vegetables. I just went with a cheap water cooler for my unit from Home Depo for $100 bucks. I think it was worth it. I feel bad that some people have noticed leakage from the countertops. My husband likes this filter so much he wanted to buy a countertop for the people at his work....maybe he will decide on another water cooler model.

Since I last reviewed this product we did go ahead and purchase a countertop model for the employees at my husband''s work. There have been no leaks and everyone absolutely LOVES it! I will say that I once called the company with some questions and they were very helpful to assist me so I think if you do have a leak, they will fix it. In addition, the new prefilter works way faster than the old model and the water tastes just as great.

I''m sure there are less frustrating ways to get fresh tasting water. You can''t fill the top container full if there''s not enough room in the bottom container or it leaks everywhere. I bought it for my massage therapy clinic and there was no mention on the website that it takes FOUR HOURS to filter the water, so I was forever filling it up and if I filled the top container too full yet another leak. It might be fine for a family of 2-4 if you don''t want to drink very much water in a day. All the replacement parts are expensive and when you get the unit home and set it up you won''t believe how cheaply made it is.
