No noticeable loss in water pressure while taking a shower, my hair feels much softer after each and every shower. Have used the shower for months now. Skin is less dry. Shower water feels soft and luxurious. Flow rate is actually 2.0 GPM, not the 1.75 GPM advertised on the Sprite website. Easy to install, no tools needed. Does not pivot up too high, I''m 6''1 and it posed no problem for me though. Good value, comes with filter inside the shower head. Sprite has the best shower head filters. I was even using filtered water for my humidifiers and, STILL, the filters were turning YELLOW in less than a month. I should have used them from the beginning, but I thought that by using filtered water everything should be fine...WRONG! Spend the extra few bucks and save yourself from Mold in your air and bad smells, it is truly worth it.

These little things do a great job of keeping bacteria, etc from growing in my humidifier. I have been using my humidifier daily for 8 months, and these have really cut down on the number of times that I have to clean the tank. I usually buy them at my retail giant store for much less, but they don''t seem to carry them during the summer. I was willing to pay a little more this time just because I''ve gotten used to the convenience.

Aqua-Pure AP802 Water Filter System Save 50% Off

Aqua-Pure AP802 Water Filter System, Whole House, 45 gpm
  • High-capacity whole-house water filter provides flow rate of up to 45 gallons per minute (170.3 liters per minute)
  • Reduces particulate, rust, and the taste and odor of chlorine, helps improve the quality of cloudy, colored, or musty water
  • Pressure-relief button makes water filter change-outs simple
  • All Aqua-Pure AP802 filter parts are manufactured from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials
  • Provides filtered water at less cost than bottled water

We''ve been using Brita pitcher for years, but we knew we wanted a whole house filter for three main reasons: (1) drinking water any time from the tap and not have to wait for the Brita to refill, (2) remove chlorine from shower and bath water, and (3) remove the sediments and "crud" from our water. Ultimately it was point 3 that pushed us over the edge when city water kept clogging up your kitchen faucet and it got too tedious to get under the sink and fix the faucet one more time.

We knew we didn''t want a water softener: we wanted to get the crud out of our water, not add more stuff in. What we wanted was a filter: get the chlorine taste out and the crud out.

We did a lot of research, and considered some of the expensive brands like the LifeSource water filter. But in addition to the cost, none of the independent research I found online indicated that they were anything but hocus pocus. Plus, I think we''re talking about $2k or $3k for the filter. After looking into it, it really sounded like marketing hoo-haa with no science behind it, so we dug deeper.

We opted for this one and have been very satisfied.

Ultimately, though, this product is just the filter container that you hook up to the water system. The filter cartridge is a separate product and determines what you will filter out of your water.

This Aqua-Pure system lets you choose between

particulate-only removal ( Aqua-Pure AP810-2 (AP802-1.5-C) Replacement Cartridge, 5 Micron Rating Water Filter )

particulate and chlorine removal: Aqua-Pure AP817-2 Water Filter Replacement Cartridge, 25 Micron Rating .

We went with the latter, and it''s been great. We have to change the filter cartridge every 6 to 12 months, but at $50/pop, that''s acceptable.

The Aqua-Pure system is inexpensive. It was originally made by a company called Cuno which got bought by 3M. We''ve been very pleased with 3M products in the past, so we had confidence of the brand. And so far, it''s been everything we hoped for. The water tastes great, and there''s no chlorine smell, and no more clogging up of our faucets.

The filter system is fairly small, so we just had it installed on the side of the house, in a convenient location to swap out filter cartridges. If you live in a cold climate, I would recommend putting it indoors to protect it from the weather. We are in California, so the side of the house is fine.

The real expense is the installation that really needs to be done by a plumber. Depending how much new copper pipe you''ll need (based on where you are installing it with respect to your water supply), it could run from a couple of hundred dollars in installation to over a thousand. Still, totally worth it. We are very glad we did it.

still has a bit of chlorine taste but still well worth the effort of buying and installing. much better than a brita also

iSpring 3-Stage Undercounter Water Filter System- Sediment-Carbon - Whole House

I installed it in the basement below the kitchen sink. Do to the large amount of water that will be spilt when changing the filters, I highly recommend putting any water filter in a location that can get very wet or flooded. Or have a tub under it at all time do to leaks that happens with water filters do to cheap plastic parts. Speaking of which, I have tried several time to stop leaks from the two soft plastic 90 deg fitting. This is the kind of thing I do for a living so rest assure I tried every trick I had to stop the leaks. The fix will be the replacement fitting I ordered.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FN80A4/ref=oh_details_o01_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The metal bracket that you can see that holds all together is very flimsy. When you bump the unit the bracket flexes and bobbles around. This should be about 3 times thicker steel to be allowed on the market. The 1/4" hose provided is a very short peace of scrap hose. I needed to buy more hose along with copper pipe and fitting and a brass bushing...about $50 more. Then do some cutting and soldering of pipes to supply water.

ALL these problems are typical with most systems on the market. All we can do is deal with it and make it better/usable. Otherwise you will need to get a high end commercial or marine grade system. Then again they probably have quirks of there own too.

Kleen Green Naturally - 128 oz Concentrated Formula

Kleen Green Naturally - 128 oz Concentrated FormulaI had been dealing with invisible biting bugs for the past year. We tried borax, diatomacious earth, steam cleaning, and various chemicals by an exterminator without any long term success (the chemicals only gave me relief for a week before the biting started again). Two exterminator companies made various visits and took different samples but were not able to find anything, which led me to believe I had some type of microscopic mites. They mostly targeted me but occasionally bit my husband as well. The only thing that gave me relief was insect repellant, like OFF! (I liked California Baby Bug Spray, which is non-toxic, because I was breastfeeding at the time). Dermatologists confirmed the bug bites but said they didn''t seem like scabies. I wasn''t getting any sleep at night from the biting, and my lower arms and legs were covered with scabs and scars. It got so bad that we moved and got rid of all of our clothing, furniture, and most of our belongings. The few things we saved, I washed/cleaned with enzyme cleaner. It was a costly and time-consuming move, but I had to make sure it was all gone. After a couple of months of relief, we visited my aunt for the holidays. Unfortunately I had previously stayed with her, during our infestation, and it turns out that we got bites at her house and brought them back to our new place (although she denies she has an infestation... maybe they only target me?).

The bites seem to happen in certain areas while using the computer, on the couch, on the floor of the baby room, around the coffee table, and in our bed. Previously at our other place, we weren''t very diligent about our bug cleaning regimen. As a result, the bugs got everywhere. This time, we are diligently washing all our clothes in the enzyme cleaner, spraying down the carpet as well as computer desk/chair/keyboard/mouse and, whenever we got bites in bed, washed all our bedding in the cleaner and sprayed down the bed and pillows. The mattress, box spring, and pillows all had bedbug-proof covers so the spraying should kill anything on the surface. We also spray down cars (seats, carpet, mats, seat belts, etc), since we were getting bites there too. Since it''s non-toxic and safe, I also rub them over my arms and legs if I feel a bite. I am confident that because of our precautions and diligent daily efforts, we have a chance against the bugs.

One great thing about Kleen Green is that it comes with a helpful pamphlet with instructions on how to get rid of different bug problems (scabies, pubic lice, fleas, mites, bed bugs, fleas, and how to use for pets). It will tell you the amount of cleaner to use, how often to use it, and the methods of application. This pamphlet was very helpful!

This 128 oz enzyme cleaner is great because, with all the spraying I must do, it lasts a lot longer than Kleen Free (which is a bit more expensive for the 128 oz when you include the shipping charges). I was going through a 32 oz bottle a week (even was skimping out on the washing, which caused bugs to stay on the clothes). I have a Bissell Little Green Machine, which I put the cleaner in instead of the regular solution. It allows me to spray continuously (and saving my trigger finger) especially great for really soaking the carpet so that they little buggers have nowhere to hide! Kleen Green is a lot less soapy (than Kleen Free), which is GREAT if you''re applying it on your skin. Also, Kleen Green has less of a smell (although both are way better than Biokleen''s Bac-Out).

The free sprayer bottles are hit or miss. I''ve had some that didn''t consistently spray the last 1/3 of the bottle, and some that were really good. When it is good, the adjustable spray creates a fine mist and sprays with less effort than a regular spray bottle. It is also bigger than the spray bottle I got at Walmart and has ounce measurements on the side for good reference. One caution about the bottle is that it has some sharp points on the bottom part of the sprayer that will poke holes on your thumb unless you hold the bottle with both hands.

If you have an invisible biting bug problem, you definitely need to get this. And you do really need to get this much. I''ve read some people estimate it might take 6 months to get rid of it. Thankfully, with a lot of prayer and six of these containers, our bites have been reduced to just one or twice a day. Yes, it is expensive but you also don''t want to skimp out, especially in the washing machine, which probably requires about 3-4 oz for each load (make sure to dissolve the solution in the water *before* adding duvets or thick items). You need to hit it hard when it starts so that it doesn''t spread until it''s everywhere. And I would also suggest that you don''t take any luggage and go sleep over at anyone''s house until you get this problem under control. And if you have leftovers, hooray!!! It''s also a great cleaner for the house, unscented and non-toxic, important if you have little ones running around licking everything!

We had a problem with "invisible" bugs and it seemed like we were all scratching and wondering if we had a tiny ant problem. Whether it was that or mites, I purchased the Kleen Green and used it in every wash load and used it as directed in the spray bottle. Sprayed everywhere and I believe we have things under control now. Also vacuum often. I purchased another concentrate and continue to put it when washing laundry.

Buy Kleen Green Naturally - 128 oz Concentrated Formula Now

This product is excellent for killing body lice, head lice, fleas. I had an infesattion in my apartment of all 3 of these pests. I carried a spray bottle of the solution with me where ever I went. This gave me releif if something was biting me or if I just felt itchy. I used pesticide also on the carpet, but still sprayed them everday with kleen green. I spray before I vacuum because they tend to start jumping and biting while I''m vacuuming. Spraying before I vacuum prevents this and then I spray again after vacuuming. Vacuuming often gets rid of a lot of the eggs. I made a vat of the solution to soak clothes in overnight and sometimes for 2 days. While Kleen Green kills the live parasites, it does not kill the eggs which can remain dormant for a long time. And because the dryers in my building do not get hot enough, I still found that I would have newly hatched incects in my clothes and so I threw them all away. I buy packages of T shirts and underpants and wear new ones every day and I go clearance sections of online and land stores. I do next day shipping from online stores if necessary. I also use LiceLogic head lice shampoo. Very effective and nontoxic to people. I threw out my mattresses and couch which were brand new, but quickly became infested because the pestss were in the carpet. My car was infested and was a continual source of reinfestment for me, so I stopped driving it and finally sold it to someone who buys cars, but I told them about the problem. I didn''t get much for it, but the thought of driving it gave me nightmares.I now sleep on an air mattress on top of a table that they cant nest in. They will reproduce in anything made of cloth or paper so I eliminated any thing that was infested and covered in clear plastic bags anything that could become infested. They try to nest in the flocking on the air bed so I spray the surface of the bed everyday and cover it with plastic sheets before going to bed.I hope this helps.

After months of endless nights without sleep and the worst bird mite infestation in the world I think relief is around the corner. It is a ongoing process to rid my life of these horrible bugs and this product is the only thing that seems to be working. I would recommend to anyone going through the same problem. I wish someone had told me about the product months ago.

Aladdin 10-01450-003 Mix-It Cold Tumbler

Aladdin 10-01450-003 Mix-It Cold Tumbler, 20-OunceDoes what I expected from reading the description. Heavier duty than expected. Easy to remove straw-mixer pieces for cleaning. Onlt thing I would change is to make it vacuum sealed so drinks stay cold longer, and modify the cover so that it''s not so thin (a little hard to get a good grip to unscrew it). Nice for making your own smoothies and frappes to take on the road. Good sized.

This thing is actually pretty cool and casts some decent light. It extends your faucet''s length by about 2 inches. It really does change with the water temp, and even better, helps cast some light on the dishes. It''s actually convenient. Not sure about durability, but the install was easy with no leaks. We picked this style over the others because the LED lens protrudes a little from the silver shaft, which seems to give the illusion of casting more light. Nice! Now sometimes I''ll do a few dishes in the dark why?because I can! Fun! Happy! ;oD

I gave this item 2 stars for 3 reasons:

~Apparently this item is powered by water pressure. I have a well and we don''t have a lot of pressure, so it barely lights up.

~It is supposed to be temperature-sensitive as follows: Blue=Cold, Green=Warm, Red=Hot, Flashing Red=Steaming Hot. In actuality, green=cold & blue=warm and the red is sporadic.

Fun novelty item, but not especially useful for us to keep our 3-year-old from being scalded when washing her hands.

Also, within a couple weeks the plastic threads were stripped and the faucet sprayed water all over my wall.

I would recommend this item as it is inexpensive and fun, but again, not very useful.

BISSELL Deluxe Microfiber Replacement Pads Save 55% Off

BISSELL Deluxe Microfiber Replacement Pads, 2-PackI have Bissell Steam Mop model 1867-7. These pads are a different color than the original pads, but they also seem thicker. They came in Bissell packaging with the model numbers clearly stated (31N1 and 1867 Series), and they fit perfectly.

After almost two years of use, my microfiber pads were worn out and had holes in them. I ordered this set because it is supposed to be identical to my original set. I did not receive the pads pictured. Instead, I received a white set. They seem to be the same quality as the green and made identically, just a different color. It isn''t a problem as they work just as well and it''s a mop pad so I''m not concerned about the color.

Qvc just wanted to make their money off of you but couldn''t care less if you (the customer) ever found the replacement filters. I finally had to call the "Barrier Corp." in Chicago Il. where I found a very nice man who explained that he got a million calls a day from angry customers who can''t find the filters! Austin Air Healthmate Jr. Air Purifier

Austin Air Healthmate Jr. Air Purifier - SandstoneThis is a no frills HEPA air filter in terms of its aesthetic: it''s an efficiently designed rectangle, and though it''s not snazzy on the outside, it''s not offensive or obtrusive either.

It sits in my home office, and does its thing quite well: cleansing the air, and overall improving the living conditions in a space in which I spend entirely too much time.

I ordered this unit because I had begun to develop dust allergies in my mid-thirties and was having trouble focusing and getting work done. I noticed an improvement in the way I was feeling shortly after the unit was put into operation.

The unit, though not cheap, is a particularly reliable model and is extremely cost-effective to operate over time. As any one who has done the research can tell you, the true expense with HEPA filters is not necessarily the up-front purchase cost, but the cost of replacement filters over the course of the years. Austin''s design is one they stand behind with a 5 year warranty, and a filter rated at needing replacement once every 5 years... yes, you read that right. All you need do in order to achieve this longevity is to vacuum the pre-filter every few months. This is accomplished by running a bristled vacuum wand over the outer surface grating. It''s simple. It really is: set a reminder in your calendar to run the vacuum over it and you''re safe.

The unit doesn''t take up a lot of room, though it does produce a fair bit of sound in 2 of its 3 settings. The base setting is actually pretty quiet, but the middle and upper settings are noisy the trade off is that at these settings it moves A LOT of air, which is what you want if you''re trying to quick cleanse a room. To give you an idea of what I''m trying to say, while you likely wouldn''t have a hard time sleeping with setting 1, you might with setting 2, and you DEFINITELY would with setting 3. Of course, everyone''s mileage varies and I''m using words to describe an audible volume, which is not the same as hearing it yourself. As I said earlier: it''s in my office, not my bedroom, so I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with its performance.

If you''re looking for a bedroom model, you might look into an Alen A350 HEPA Air Purifier (wall mountable and quieter.)

We Live in a small apt. with no exhaust fans and because of wood stoves are unable to open windows in the winter months. This unit helps with the air quality and makes the place much more livable. It even helps with odors. The size is good and even on high speed it isn''t really annoying. We had a good experience with sales and delivery too.

This purifier (Austin Healthmate Jr.) seems to be a very good purchase for the money. Although it is not cheap, we are using it in a loft and it seems to be doing a great job with the air not only in the loft but also in the living room which is below the open-air loft.

I purchased a SS GE Profile refrig/freezer in 2002. The refrig was super quiet, except when the IM-4 icemaker cycled. The IM-4 could be heard from the next room. After having a new floor installed, the contractors must have damaged something in the rear of the icemaker (pump). I replaced with the new IM-6. After checking my connections and looking for puddles, I had to continue to look inside the freezer to see if it was working. The IM-6 is so quiet, I could not hear the cycling. The only sound that was heard was the ice dropping into the empty bucket. Finally a quiet ice maker for my quiet refrigerator! Good job GE.

I purchased the GE Icemaker IM-6 to install in my frig that had never been equiped with one. It seems the icemaker is packaged with instructions and extra parts so that it fits EVERY refrigerator GE ever made. It was not hard finding the simple two page instructions for my model. But being a guy, it was real hard to throw out all those extra parts not needed LOL.

The actual install was one of the simplest projects I''ve ever tackled. Was a little apprehensive when it took about 24hrs before it started producing cubes. But after that every hour on the hour... ice cubes drop.

I like this icemaker very much. Quiet operation and plenty of ice to keep up with my four adult users. Sure beats filling ice trays by hand. Thanks GE.

My ice machine stopped working in our GE GSS25TSWCSS side by side refrigerator. Our fridge/freezer was only 4 years old, but that about the lifetime of an ice maker. The green light was blinking on the ice maker. Everything i read online suggested that if the water inlet tube was frozen, then to replace the water valve at the back of the fridge. If there was no ice in the inlet tube then it was the ice maker and just to replace the unit. GE sell them for $148.75 plus shipping. This product included the WR30X10093 ice maker part for $81.00. Part arrived promptly. Removed 1 screw eased out the old ice maker, disconnected the plug and re-installed the new ice maker. Switched on and it immediately started making ice. Awesome. I saved about $60 on the part and no labor or call out charge.

Easy to install and works great. Having a tech come out would have been almost $300 but I purchased for 20% of this cost and installed myself in about 10-15 minutes. Nice thing about this purchase was the fact that not only did it come with the ice-maker, it came with pretty much every part that i might potentially have issues with down the road. (If you purchase different parts from a parts store, it would have been over $200.

Great buy and suggest ordering if you have issues with your ice-maker.

Easy to install. Made the first ice in less than one hour. The instructions were a little scary due to the fact that the book (yes it''s that big) of instructions covers all GE models this kit installs on. The kit includes parts for all of the other models. It took around an hour to install.

1. 20 minutes for read the instructions and separate the parts I needed for my refrigerator.

2. 20 minutes to install the Ice maker.

3. 20 minutes to install the water feed line.

No kidding, just an hour screw divers, pliers, and a 1/2" wrench.

KRUPS XP5280 Pump Espresso Machine Save 54% Off

KRUPS XP5280 Pump Espresso Machine with KRUPS Precise Tamp Technology and Stainless Steel Housing, SilverI have used Krups espresso machines for over 25 years. This is my third Krups and it is stunningly superior to the previous models I used. (The last one lasted 18 years and was still in usable condition when I upgraded to the XP5280.) The taste of the espresso made by the XP5280 is vastly superior to that produced by the previous Krups model I owned, and to the espresso made by other brands of machine that my friends own. The coffee also arrives in the cup with a wonderfully thick crema. The taste is, I''m guessing, a result of the way the machine carefully controls the water temperature and way the pump and the head work together to control rate of flow of hot water through the coffee grains, in combination with the effectiveness of the auto-tamping mechanism. The auto-tamping is a great feature. (With my prior machine I was lazy about tamping and somewhat deterred from doing it properly by the way the pump seemed to be ''laboring'' when I over-tamped.) The auto-tamp gets the tamping just right. The milk-frother is a huge improvement over the one on the earlier model. It makes more than enough froth. (I had to get a bigger frothing jug to accommodate the froth.) It is also much easier to clean.

I see that other reviewers have had problems with the plastic latches on the frother breaking. I agree that they do look a bit fragile, so I am being careful with them. The unlatching process requires a bit of practice: you have to make sure the latch-locking ring is pulled all the way down before trying to pull the frother off the plastic thing at the end of the pipe.

[Update, July 14, 2012: Krups has taken note! A re-designed frother was released a few days ago, part number MS-623107, and it''s is a huge improvement. There are no fragile latches. It is secured by a twisting action. The kit ($11.99) includes the frother and a replacement plastic connector, to which the frother connects, that you screw onto the steam pipe. If your original frother has broken Krups will, I hope, send you the kit for free. My original frother hasn''t broken yet; but I bought a new kit just in case.]

[Further update, January 11, 2013: One of the latches on the original frother just snapped off as I was using it. It was rather alarming as the frother detached suddenly and steam exploded out of the naked pipe in a scary manner. I can see why Krups re-designed this. I attached the replacement twist-on frother and it is much easier to put on and take off, and much less likely to break and cause injury. If the machine you receive is older stock, with the old-style frother that has with three claws, immediately call Krups and insist that they send you a free replacement.]

Overall, everything about the machine exceeds what I had expected and I recommend this top-of-the-home-line model without reservation.

Some small observations (I hope Krups Product Development team will note these):

(a) The instruction manual could be improved. For example:

When periodically doing a full cleaning of the brewing head, and removing the plastic part with the nozzles, the manual says "replace the black plastic part and turn to the right until the two arrows line up", whereas it should really say "replace the black plastic part, making sure that it is positioned with the arrow on it close to the arrow on the metal part, and turn clockwise until the two arrows line up". (If you replace it in poor lighting conditions, getting the arrows about 180 degrees apart, it will get badly stuck and extremely hard to pull out without damaging the plastic.)

The "Problems" table in the manual says that all three button-lights flashing means that the steam knob is in the steam position. What it should stay is "Either the steam knob has been left in the steam position (or is maybe just a little bit off the "O" position), or the water tank is empty."

(b) With respect to the comment above, about the steam knob, the "feel" of the knob as you get to the "O" position is a little odd: it feels as through you might be straining something when you apply enough turning force to actually get it all the way to the "O". I''d prefer a much more solid stop sensation.

(c) It would have been nice if the steam knob had been designed with a "hold" position, at which the steam is shut off but the machine remains in steam mode (i.e., does not go into the cool-down cycle to prepare for coffee-making). If you need to pause steam making (e.g., to cope with overspilling froth or to change over to frothing a second jug of milk) you have no choice but to turn the steam off, wait while the cool-down cycle finishes, press the steam button again, and wait until the machine reaches steam temperature again -all a needless waste of time, water, and electricity.

(d) The turning force you need to apply to turn the brewing-head handle as it is auto-tamping (note: I am not trying to turn it too far), is quite a lot relative to the weight of the machine. If you put the machine on a very smooth surface or on a plastic drip mat, the machine will tend to rotate as you operate the handle (particularly when the water tank has very little water in it) unless you place a steadying hand on the top of the machine. The machine would have felt a lot steadier if Krups had put some weights in the base.

However, these are small points that just have to be noted and do not diminish the pleasure of using this excellent machine.

A frother-cleaning tip: after using the frother (whether or not you plan to remove it to give it a proper cleaning), with the machine in the ready-to-make-coffee state (= left three lamps lit, steam lamp not lit), put a cup or jug under the frother and turn the steam knob a little way for a few seconds. This will cause hot water to squirt through the steam outlet, clearing any milk residue from the steam channel of the frother. This prevents the frother becoming clogged by dried milk residue.

Being fairly new to Espresso machines I researched reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, and decided on a Krups XP5280. Too bad, no review ever mentioned the fact that, and this was confirmed to me by Krups Customer Service, you need to wait at least 15 minutes between successive cups of espresso, even longer if you used the steam wand! If you don''t wait this long the water is diverted to the drip tray instead of the filter holder. WHAT!! Before this was confirmed by Krups itself I could only think I had a defective unit. Upon hearing that this is "normal", I promptly returned it to the seller, of course at my own expense. I didn''t like that the machine couldn''t be used under cabinets that don''t give you enough space to fully pull out the reservoir which needs to be pulled out upwards. But I did like the Krups automatic tamping, the set amount (programmable) amount of espresso delivered, and the puck ejector in the filter holder. I only wished someone had mentioned in a review the problem with needing to wait so long between successive cups using the Krups XP5280, it would have saved me the wasted time, and cost, to return it to the seller! If you only need to make one cup, or are willing to wait 15+ minutes between cups, then perhaps the Krups XP5280 is for you. It was not for me.

I purchased this machine at the recommendation of a knowledgeable salesperson at a local cooking store called Great News (Pacific Beach). I really liked the programmable feature, after returning a different model that did not have the preset for espresso pour duration. I also like the "precise tamp" feature as it saves a step and works well. I find that by using a Cuisinart Conical Burr grinder to freshly grind the beans(I use illy beans exclusively), and by following the directions for proper priming(1st use), cleaning, and operation the resulting espresso and latte drinks are excellent. It consistently turns out great tasting espresso with generous amounts of "crema", and steams milk well(I recommend getting an instant read thermometer for steamed milk which indicates proper heating temerature between 150 and 170 degrees mine is from a company called CDN). One minor issue is the steam nozzle. Mine did break after about 4 months one of the clips that hold the nozzle to the steam wand broke I called the company and they sent me a new one. Pluses when used properly this machine turns out great and repeatable results for both espresso and steamed milk. Minus Steam wand nozzle must be handled with care and cleaned often. By the way folks make sure you read the directions on how to disassemble and clean the nozzle if you don''t it gets pretty disgusting inside.

I''ve owned this expresso maker since July of 2011. I am on my 3rd nozzle. Since I can''t find nozzles for sale on the internet anymore, I finally decided to call the Krups warranty hotline since everything is still under warranty. First they told me that the expresso maker is warrantied for 2 years instead of the 1 year in the manual. Then they notified me that the nozzle is being redesigned. They will send me the "older style" (that is, the one I have now) to hold me over until the new one comes out in Summer 2012. Then they put me on their mailing list to get the newly designed nozzle when it comes out. The hotline person was helpful and acknowledged that there was a design problem with the existing nozzle (in so many words), so I am glad Krups is not in denial of the facts. I like the expresso maker -especially the auto tamping feature and the pre-measured pulls. So if you already own one of these, don''t despair. I recommend you call Krups and get your name on their list for the new nozzle.

5/3/12 Just received the newly redesigned nozzle from Krups. It is much heftier than the original. Still made of plastic but much, much thicker. The nozzle body is now a single piece with a stainless steel outer tube which simply presses onto the front of the nozzle; looks like it mostly for show. Gone are the 3 flimsy tabs which are prone to breakage. The new nozzle now locks onto the steam arm with a twist. Because the new nozzle attaches differently, you also have to replace the plastic base which screws onto the steam arm.

It is now 1 year since purchasing this machine. I just replaced the filter holder because of corrosion. The plastic handle started to crack and the button which locks the filter holder started sticking, preventing the holder from locking into place on the expresso maker. Now the button doesn''t pop up like when it was new. Looks like pewter underneath the chrome plating. I make 2 cups, double shots, every day. It would be nice to have a stainless steel filter holder but you would have to buy an expresso machine which costs twice as much to get that. And as I examine other machines in this price range, they all seem to be made of the same materials. So I understand the shortcuts made to sell a machine at this price point. And I like the expresso it makes.

12/19/12 I have been through 2 of the newly designed nozzles. They both have cracked from the heat and eventually leak along the centerline of the tube. Lasted about 3 months. I called the Krups customer service center again and the person said she''d never hear of this before. However, she quickly said they would send me another replacement. I think I''ll keep doing this until the 2-year warranty runs out.

I have owned this unit for 16 months. During that time I have gone through 7, count them 7 frothing wands. Three before the "new design" and 4 after. Had to wait over 2 months, for the new frothing wand, because they were out of stock at the factory. That tells me lots of people were having the same issues. Not spending one more penny on a new frothing wand. I am going to buy a "real" unit and once agsin relax with my morning latte. The customer service department acted like I was bothering them. GOODBYE KRUPS. NEVER AGAIN!

Bought this about 3 months ago and was happy with the convenience of use. Out of the box the stainless steel containers had 3 minor dents no big deal. Then a month ago, I noticed one of the four elements was defective as water was flowing out of it like a faucet while the other 3 were dripping along. Got a replacement element (actually they sent me two I guess they knew I would have problems with at least one more since they come in pairs). I was told that there was a defective batch in which the glue was coming undone. Glue? Hmmm. Well, a month ago, I notice sediment (I get my water from a creek) in the ''filtered'' water. I did the red food dye test and one of the elements clearly failed. Then I notice that in two others, the plastic base was coming unglued from the element. There was very sloppy glue work where the plastic was peeling off. And finally, I noticed that the threads on the plastic bolt and nut strips very easily. On initial installation of the elements, the threads hold nicely as you hand-tighten the nuts. But later when you unscrew them for a cleaning, and try to re-install them the plastic nuts just strip with moderate torque. On the first element, I thought it was my fault for over-torquing it. But this happened to all the elements. I work on carbon bike components so I know a thing or two about not over-torquing. This should not even be an issue especially when Berkey emphasizes re-tightening the nuts when running the red food dye test. In fact, they recommend doing the dye test "upon first use then at six month intervals". First use? So much for quality control or quality confidence. Oh well, live and learn. I''m hoping I can get a full refund after 3 months since I have lost all confidence in this filtration system. We shall see...

edit: The customer support at Berkeyfilters.com was very supportive and understanding. The defective batch of filter elements have been isolated and removed from circulation. They are accepting my return for a full refund. If/when they fix the issue with the stripping threads, then I would reconsider their product.

Hands down the best filter on the market. We love love love it! We live on a well that has the egg smell from hydrogen sulfide in the water and because of that we didn''t drink our own water. We used to buy bottled water and now we love our own water! We purchased 10 heavy duty pcb free bottles and assigned certain colors to the everyone in the house and just refill them. We now drink 4 times as much water! I recommend you purchase the spout with the viewing window so you don''t have to lift the top off to see how much water you have left. Can''t say enough good!

The filter system arrived quickly, and was well packaged. All the filter elements were boxed well and inside the tank, and the tank was in perfect condition with no dents or scrapes.

I have owned the stainless steel Big Berkey for about one and a half years. I bought it with the white filters. About a year ago, I bought two of the black filters and stored them for future use.

After I read online about the black filters separating from the filters, I pulled the ones I bought and did the "red dye test". Well, the filters leaked.

Okay, so I called New Millenium Concepts to see what their warranty claims process is. Looks like the filters have a 2 year prorated warranty. Even though I did not use the filters except to check them, I will only get a 50% credit. They mention the credit is prorated like tire warranties. Well, I hope not because I took a Goodyear tire back once with an obvious manufacturing defect. Turns out the "pro-ration" was based on the manufacturers suggested RETAIL price. I could buy a new tire for LESS than the "prorated" warranty price.

Bottom line...I WILL NOT buy Berkey filters in the future! There are other manufacturers for gravity flow water filters. I will buy those since they fit the Berkey products. You should too!

And if you are looking for a completes system, there are two companies that manufacture them and they look like clones of the Berkey, but much cheaper. Buy them instead of the Berkey. I have not heard of ANY problems with their filters.

For something a critical as clean drinking water, the company should have done a total recall at no cost to their customers since they admit the products manufactured during certain lots are defective.

Keurig B 3000 SE Coffee Commercial Single Cup Office Brewing System Save 42% Off

Keurig B 3000 SE Coffee Commercial Single Cup Office Brewing SystemMy workplace received one of these a week or two ago and after some use, I have to say that I mostly like this for the below reasons:

What I like: I like that this is hooked up to the building''s water supply. There''s no filling of any reservoirs at any point in time, although occasionally the unit will need to drain or to heat its inner reservoir. This doesn''t take very long and the wait time is not that much more than the smaller Keurigs that have the reservoir that you have to fill manually. It''s a bit larger so it takes longer, but that''s about it. It''s a fast machine and despite some initial confusion over what people needed to push to get the desired result (we had no instructions left for us), it was pretty easy to learn what we needed when. There is an option to just get hot water, which is nice. You could technically get that with the other Keurigs, but it''s still nice.

What I''m ambivalent about: Rather than you having to remove the k-cup cartridge after use, the unit dumps it into a bucket with several other k-cups. You have to empty it out occasionally and the bucket will sometimes fill up with water, which I think is part of the draining process. The lazy part of me likes this, as I tend to leave k-cups in the machine sometimes, but the more fastidious part of me hates that there are several used k-cups in the machine that are sometimes sitting in an inch of water. It''s not that the machine isn''t emptied regularly, it''s just the thought of it.

There really isn''t anything I dislike about it at this point in time. The only thing I can say about it is that if something breaks, you absolutely have to take this in for repair. It''s too expensive to be trusted to anyone other than someone who is experienced with this sort of machine. If you have someone at work who knows how to fix them, then repairs wouldn''t be as bad as getting someone to fix the internal bits and bobs of your office copier or printer, but this isn''t as easy to fix or replace as the more inexpensive units.

Despite it being bigger and looking more impressive than the smaller units, this is generally not any different than your basic machine. It looks like it could put up with more abuse than its kin and it''s good for larger amounts of users, but if you have an office that has under 10 workers that would only drink about 10-15 cups a day, you could probably get away with one of the smaller machines. If you know that they''ll drink more than that a day or that you have more workers, this is probably the way to go.

Instructions included need to be a bit more explanitory when it somes to the tubbing leading from the filter and from the coffee pot. Nothing is mentioned about the adapter needed to adjust the the two lines together.
