We''ve been using Brita pitcher for years, but we knew we wanted a whole house filter for three main reasons: (1) drinking water any time from the tap and not have to wait for the Brita to refill, (2) remove chlorine from shower and bath water, and (3) remove the sediments and "crud" from our water. Ultimately it was point 3 that pushed us over the edge when city water kept clogging up your kitchen faucet and it got too tedious to get under the sink and fix the faucet one more time.

We knew we didn''t want a water softener: we wanted to get the crud out of our water, not add more stuff in. What we wanted was a filter: get the chlorine taste out and the crud out.

We did a lot of research, and considered some of the expensive brands like the LifeSource water filter. But in addition to the cost, none of the independent research I found online indicated that they were anything but hocus pocus. Plus, I think we''re talking about $2k or $3k for the filter. After looking into it, it really sounded like marketing hoo-haa with no science behind it, so we dug deeper.

We opted for this one and have been very satisfied.

Ultimately, though, this product is just the filter container that you hook up to the water system. The filter cartridge is a separate product and determines what you will filter out of your water.

We went with the latter, and it''s been great. We have to change the filter cartridge every 6 to 12 months, but at $50/pop, that''s acceptable.

The Aqua-Pure system is inexpensive. It was originally made by a company called Cuno which got bought by 3M. We''ve been very pleased with 3M products in the past, so we had confidence of the brand. And so far, it''s been everything we hoped for. The water tastes great, and there''s no chlorine smell, and no more clogging up of our faucets.

The filter system is fairly small, so we just had it installed on the side of the house, in a convenient location to swap out filter cartridges. If you live in a cold climate, I would recommend putting it indoors to protect it from the weather. We are in California, so the side of the house is fine.

The real expense is the installation that really needs to be done by a plumber. Depending how much new copper pipe you''ll need (based on where you are installing it with respect to your water supply), it could run from a couple of hundred dollars in installation to over a thousand. Still, totally worth it. We are very glad we did it.

IMUSA GAU-18200 Elecric Espresso / Cappuccino Maker Save 13% Off

I ordered this to replace a Bialetti stove-top maker. I have had it a couple of months and it is great. I saw some reviews about some machines within this price category being flimsy and unreliable. The Imusa is terrific. Easy to clean (Bialetti was awful!), and makes up to a quad in under 5 minutes. It is lightweight, but sturdy; and makes thick rich foam, even with skim milk. I am a former chef and have had some fancy machines that cost thousands of dollars in my kitchens, Imusa gets it done for me at home. I even went back and ordered a second as a gift.

Adding on to this review: If you haven''t been using your old espresso/cappuccino maker because it isn''t easy, or a pain to clean up, then this is the machine for you.

I''m going to start out stating I am no barista.

But I love coffee and simply don''t like paying $4+ a cup and inconveniencing myself in the morning making an out-of-the-way, time-consuming stop during my commute.

That said, this is my first espresso machine. As with many things I don''t know if I''ll ever use again, I purchase the absolute cheapest low-end model, and if I like it, I research and splurge (or ask Santa.) I feel I really lucked out with this machine since it cost half of other machines I was looking at, and it works. I followed the directions (and a youtube) and with some trial and error (actually only the first try was really bad) I am able to make espresso mocha''s in the morning for my wife and I.

I''ve gotten so good at it that I can make two cups with ~2 shots each, a squirt of chocolate syrup each, about 10oz steamed milk, and clean it all up in under 10 minutes.

Notes and experiences about this machine:

-When you first receive the machine, fill and drain the machine numerous times with hot water (by filling and turning the entire machine upside down.) Mine had a bunch of metallic flakes inside the steam chamber left over from manufacturing. These could definately clog the machine or worse, end up in your espresso.

-Use mildly fine grounds and tamp softly. I wasn''t getting any crema until I used a burr grinder on a medium-fine setting. This machine has NO control over the brew group pressure, so the only way to control extraction is with the grounds and tamping pressure. I was using too fine of grounds for the first week or two and was getting weak extraction. If tamped too hard the grounds overheat and the extraction is bitter. Ideally each shot should take 20 seconds.

-The control dial has a "dead zone" where steam continues to come out, but the boiler is off. It is between OFF and LOW STEAM settings. This allows you to safely release pressure in the boiler chamber when you''re finished. Never leave the machine sit with pressure in it. The instructions don''t mention anything about this ''hidden'' setting, but you will find it and use it every time you use the machine for one reason or another.

-Tamping the grounds is important. At first I used my fingers. Then a spoon. Finally I got a tamper. All of them were effective but a tamper makes me feel like a pro and its definately the fastest/easiest. 50mm is a good fit. Not perfect, but good enough; in reality its probably a 51mm or 52mm.

-Don''t use the rubber guard for the frothing wand. It''s hard to clean. Not just hard, impossible. Also, if not removed and cleaned after every use, it will for sure trap bacteria; it obviously needs to be removed to clean your frothing wand, which you want to clean while its hot so stuff doesn''t cake on it, defeating the entire purpose of protecting you from burns since you need to deal with the hot wand, anyway. Just throw this thing away.

-Clean it while its HOT. I rinse and wipe everything right after a session. The steam wand, grounds cup and locking cup, the collection cup and the waste tray all rinse clean with no soap when they''re hot. The steam wand takes about 10-15 seconds of wiping to get milk residue off; everything else takes a few seconds.

Especially for the money, this is a great little espresso machine! I''ve never had an electric espresso machine before. I have several manual espresso makers but no way to easily froth hot milk so I ordered this one. I received it yesterday and made a wonderful latte last night for the first time in my life! It''s easy to use, looks cool and has a small footprint so it''s great in a small space. (It did not say anywhere to remove the soft black plastic ''cover'' on the steaming rod but I did...I don''t want ANY plastic of any kind near my food, especially steaming hot plastic. I''m assuming you remove it else there''s no way to clean the rod...) It''s a perfect ''treat yourself'' gift to yourself when you know you deserve it!

The metal water basin contains lead. I recently purchased this espresso maker and at first really liked it as it does the job, and I made delicious decaf lattes with it. The plastic on the outside is number 5 which is considered generally safe, but I was unsure about the metal used on the inside. I recently bought some lead test kits and decided to test the metal on the inside of the opening where you pour the water in. I highly doubted that it would be positive, because who would put lead in a machine that makes beverages especially that part that holds the water you drink?!!! But, because I am pregnant, I decided to check it just in case. Anyhow the test turned red which means it has a dangerous level of LEAD! I am so angry that they have this product on the market. Royal Berkey Water Filter System With 2 Black Berkey Filters Save 5% Off

My Royal is used at a deer camp, which way off in the woods and does not have a city water supply. We have a well, but the water does not get used enough for the water to get cycled out. So instead of bringing a lot of bottled water with the family, we hook the Berkey up, and filter the water from either the well or a near-by creek.

For a group of 4 people, the Royal Berkey does a great job. If you have more then say 6+ people, you "might" want to consider upgrading to the Imperial Berkey.

Be sure to purge the filters before you use them. If you just pour the water into the holding the tank, the flow might be reduced to as if you purged the filters before installing them.

I like how the Royal Berkey does not stand 3 feet off the counter top. Being 5 feet 9 inches tall, I can walk up to the Berkey, lift the reservoir lid and easily see how much water is in it.

I love my Berkey and their customer service is fantastic. Lovely people. But in the 10 months I''ve had it, we''ve gone through 3 sets of filters. The first set we thought maybe it was our fault, so we bought more. that set we discovered that the glue sealing the candle into the base was defective. customer service confirmed that that happens sometimes and sent us another set for free. The water started tasting bad again a few days ago and now is undrinkable, seems worse than our yucky tap water. I checked to see and one of the candles is totally free of the base. Water simply pours through instead of going through the candle.

I also have a problem with the fluoride filter, because it is so difficult to clean the system with it on. You have to carefully lift the top canister out so that you don''t accidentally knock the fluoride filter and possibly break the connecting part. then you have to carefully unscrew the fluoride filters while someone else holds the canister because you can''t lay it down on the side without breaking the connecting parts. All the fluoride gravity filters I''ve seen are the same design. I used good quality ceramic candles for years and didn''t find them difficult to handle, but these black filters are harder to maintain and the piggyback fluoride filter is more than I can manage alone. I''d keep using it in spite of the inconvenience if the filters were just reliable, but now I give up.

We switched to the ceramic candles and were very happy with them for a month until our source water got contaminated. There was no apparent change to either bacteria or the bitter taste (chemical contamination?). The filtered water got a rotten smell after 24 hours at room temperature and gave me diarrhea before that. I went back to bottled water, but got chemical sensitivities from it. (I''m very sensitive get headaches, dizziness, gallbladder pains from drinking water from plastic bottles.) I then tried putting that water through the filter, and it looks like it''s going to work for the 2 brands that don''t have much plastic or chalky taste to begin with. I couldn''t tell a difference in GV spring water that smelled and tasted more plasticky.

I''m sure I''ve read that these original Berkfield ceramic filters are used by aid agencies in Africa, but I''m no longer sure I believe it.

We used to use a Brita filter, which was better than nothing but the replacement filters are expensive, the amount of water they will effectively filter is fairly low, and for the number of us, it wasn''t adequate. When I found the Berkey Light filter online, I was intrigued and ordered it. WE HAVE NEVER REGRETTED IT FOR A MOMENT. The water tastes wonderful, the drip rate is good as long as I don''t let the black filters go dry, the bottles stay clean (we filter tap water, but are prepared to use less favorable water if needed), and the fact that the minerals are still present, minus the heavy metals and all the cysts, chlorine, etc that are filtered out, pleases me, as it keeps the water tasting good. I need to replace filters now, as I have really pushed them past their filter limit and they have slowed down. I have recommended this product numerous times, and will continue to do so. It''s too bad some folks have been unhappy with theirs, but perhaps this system just didn''t fit their lifestyle or expectations. I love that if things get crazy in this country, that I will still be able to get clean water with this filter. I have taken the unit apart several times to clean it and such, and have had no problems. Yes, it''s a bit difficult to snap them back together, but I place the base on the floor and use my body weight to get the top back on right. Once they''re together right, they are secure. I plugged the hole in the clean-water resevoir with a clean cotton ball to keep the little flying bugs out, and it allows the air to escape as the water displaces it while the base fills. I add water daily to the top, as we love to drink and cook with clean, healthy water. Think about whether this kind of filter is what you need before you spend this kind of money, but personally, I''d do it again in a heartbeat. Great product! We love it. You can''t take an under-the-sink filter with you if you have to move very quickly, and in an emergency situation where municipal water systems fail (such as local or national disaster situations or the possibly-coming-soon-to-your-neighborhood catastrophy scenarios that accompany severe civil unrest come on, folks, open your eyes and look at where this country is headed!), I will be utterly grateful to have a reliable method of obtaining clean water even when only dirty water might be available.

I ordered this in hopes that it will at least help with the problem we have in this area with well water that has a sulphur taste and smell (YUCK)!. Today there is only a slight smell and taste so I can''t tell yet just how much this Berkey will help when we have those days when the smell is horrible (fills the kitchen) and the taste is something you only taste once and never again. If you smell the sulphur, you learn quickly NOT to taste it!

But as I said, today there is only a slight sulphur smell to our well water. I got my Berkey assembled with absolutely no problem and have no problem with leakage around the spigot. The instructions didn''t really spell out the correct placement of the washers on the spigot, but the instruction booklet did under the "Leaking Spigot" section. The white beveled washer goes on the outside with the beveled side facing the chamber. I''m 66 years old (almost :), and I am small, yet hand tightening it as instructed in the booklet worked like a charm.

The water is GREAT! No sulphur smell and no sulphur taste. I researched this sulphur problem on Berkey''s website and it was stated that (perhaps) not all of the sulphur smell or taste will be taken care but most of it should be. Again, today the sulphur is only slight, but it took care of it completely. The water tastes great and I''m very pleased! I will test this out further when we have one of those days when we have a heavy sulphur content and try to report back.

We are VERY rural and my husband has extreme health problems (cancer) and I don''t want to be running back and forth (55 60 mile round trip) to the store for water. I have high hopes so far that this is our answer. My husband and I moved here two years ago and we had the existing well re-dug and for quite some time we had wonderful water, but no longer. Between the gas and the cost of water, if this Berkey keeps working the way it seems like it is going too, we''ll save quite a bit.

If this Berkey doesn''t do a great job on the days when the sulphur is horrible, I will just start purifying the water on the good days and put the water up. Anyway, I''m more than satisfied with this product!

Edited: This company is far beyond great! I had called them about some missing washers and a nut from a view window I had ordered from another company here on Amazon who would not take care of their mistake and send the missing parts. This company (Royal Berkey) said they had them and even though I didn''t order this view window from them that they would send me the washers and nut FREE of charge. They actually took it upon themselves to make up for another companies sloppiness! Never have I seen a company care so much for the individual (not just their customers) that they would, at their expense, make up for another companies mistakes. Wow, just wow! Wish I could give this company a 10 star rating!

Unit assembled easily. All you do is screw in two cartridges and stack it together. If you get the white fluoride filters to add on, they are a little clunky. I no longer buy gallons of water every week, our family takes this unit camping, and if were out of power and clean water after a hurricane or storm, we aren''t out of clean water! Hamilton Beach 40886 Stainless Steel Electric Cordless Kettle

I am surprised to see this model is still being sold. I bought this in Canada ealier this year, and it worked only a few months before the base switch stopped working. Because I was now in the states, its was a minor hassle to get a warranty replacement through Hamilton Beach, but one was obtained and cost me $8 in misc shipping costs. That one worked only a few months longer, then died the same way as its predecessor. Fool me twice, shame on me, huh? There seems to be a fundamental engineering flaw with the base switch on the model. Hamilton Beach should take it off the market and re-think the switch. I really wanted this kettle to work for me, loved everything else about it.

This kettle is no longer working after only 3 months of use. The auto-off takes far too long to switch off and the kettle leaks terribly. The kettle gets too hot. Stick to a good plastic electric kettle.

Be Careful Issue #1: the carafe is stainless steel. It has no insulation. It gets very, very hot.

Be Careful issue #2: the switch at the base of the carafe is vulnerable and flimsy-looking.

That''s it. Everything else about this is terrific. The carafe is stainless steel inside and out, and the water level gauge uses a siphon so it''s not in direct contact with the boiling water. And, even the lid is stainless steel. If you''re concerned about plastic outgassing during heating, or just the plasticky taste, this is a great choice. Capacity is great too.

Now, as to Be Careful Issue #1, we had a smaller electric kettle with a plastic carafe. It got hot too! Maybe not as hot as this one, but it was certainly nothing we''d leave within reach of our kids. Furthermore, even if the outside of a hypothetical kettle carafe was cool to the touch, it would still be filled with boiling-hot water. So the heat issue is mostly a moot point. As to Be Careful Issue #2, the switch ... well, it may be a weak spot more from an industrial design standpoint than a practical one. We haven''t snapped it off yet. But, we are pretty careful about being gentle when we press it down. Don''t flick it around like a light switch and you''ll probably be okay.

I''ve had this kettle for 1 year. Only used once a week during summer, but several times a day fall through spring.

Not too many features to consider when buying a kettle, but this one has them covered at an attractive price ($28.00). This kettle is Stainless Steel, has a visible water level window (back lit while kettle is on), boil dry protection (auto shut off), concealed element, cordless, and it pours very well.

The kettle has 5 level indicators; Min, 1.0L, 8 cup, 10 cup, and Max 1.7L. The level indicators correspond roughly to the following ounces: Min=32, 1.0 L=34, 8 cup=42, 10 cup=50, and Max 1.7L=56. I timed how long for each of these levels to reach boiling (auto shut off). I used the auto shut off as the time end because deciding when it is boiling by looking or listening to the water is way too subjective. Depending on your idea of what boiling water looks like, your times could be more than a minute less than these.

All tests started with 70 degree water:

It did take time to work and once it did it did a great job and now it is back to not working at all again. I don''t know why nothing to our knowledge has changed. I would say save your money. Unless you can put it directly on the copper pipes in several areas causing problems it was just to large for us too. It did not fit ours. We have an older home and the copper pipes are smaller then this will fit on properly.

I should have added that it is located on one of our plastic pipes and on one copper pipe. However it should still gather the metals or limescale etc., that it is suppose to??

I attached this unit to my 3/4" copper pipe that is feeding my kitchen; it fit perfectly, but that''s where the perfection ended. Ordered this to replace a 2 year old version of the same model. Excellent coffeemaker. In addition to good coffee the unit is unique in that one can fill the water reservoir and coffee basket without having to pull the unit out from under an upper cabinet. Nearly all other coffeemakers have such large lids that it is impossible to open the water reservoir while the unit is under a cabinet. With this unit the coffee basket rotates out from the coffeemaker bringing the basket closer for filling both coffee and water.

We love the design and will purchase another one after this wears out.

It works , the problem so far is the plastic they used to view how much water is in the unit, it isn''t clear plastic but rather opaque and the water level is difficult to see.

The clock/timer is way too slow to operate, I really dislike it.

I sent in the rebate offer and we''ll see if send the $10.

(1)The basket is falling apart after one week.

Customer service doesn''t stock the part so I used a glue gun for a temporary fix.

I purchased this unit over a year ago and after a few months it began leaking. I called customer service and they said it might be the basket, although they said there was no "wide-spread" problem. The new basket worked for several more months but then the unit began leaking all over the counter again. When I called customer service they once again denied that this was a common problem. A search of the internet looking for delonghi DCF 212T problems will show that this is a very common problem. I was told if I cut off the cord and sent it in with $15 they would send me a new unit as a "good will" gesture. I will most likely pay the $15 to get a new unit but can not believe DeLonghi would produce such an inferior product and then repeatedly deny any responsibility. Shame on Them! I have bought my last DeLonghi product.

I really like the front access for filling the water reservoir and the coffee filter. The aroma option indeed improves the flavor of the coffee, and the unit does make a better pot of brew than my old coffeemaker. But I have three complaints, and it seems they''re simple, inexpensive features that would''ve earned this machine 4 or 5 stars.

First, the water level indicator ideally needs to be backlit. As a mediocre alternative, Delonghi could''ve used clear plastic so you could actually see the water level. As is, it''s very difficult to see the level without shining a light directly on the indicator. Rather than going to the trouble, it''s slightly easier to add a step to the process & fill the carafe with the quantity of water needed & pour it in the unit (otherwise, I''d pour directly from my Brita pitcher into the unit).

Second, the clock is unlit, which makes it almost worthless unless you''re standing closer than 2 feet from the unit. My old 29.99 Mr. Coffee''s clock was far superior. Shame.

Third, also related to the clock, setting the time or the automatic start timer is very cumbersome. Besides being hard to see the clock itself, to set the time, you have to hold the time set button as it ticks off each minute until reaching your desired time. So, for example, this morning I wanted the coffee to start brewing at 6:00, but tomorrow, I want it to begin at 5:45. I have to hold the button down until it scrolls for 23 3/4 hours! Again, my cheap old Mr. Coffee was far simpler with its "hour" and "minute" buttons.

When all is said & done, I like the machine because it makes good coffee...but with these simple additional features, I''d love it.

We originally wanted the DCF212T, but the machine was too big and unattractive. The 2212T is almost identical, just more narrow and conventional. The carafe is not as nice, the top of it is completely plastic but functions just as well. It works just as advertised, we experienced no problem with the electronics or leaking as has been suggested by other consumers. It makes a superior cup of coffee and the aroma button is a great feature. If you grind your beans very fine like we do, the aroma feature ensures no spill over since it gently showers the grinds. This machine was a great value and performs excellently. We really like the front access drawer, a feature of both models. This makes the prep go much faster since water and coffee are both loaded quickly and easily in the double sided receptacle. The permanent filter and drip cup are designed well and are a welcome change from the cone cup and paper filter of our last machine. My predicament was a tiled shower floor that I could not regrout the surface beneath the tiles was draining so poorly that it stayed wet the grout would never set. The mildew thrived and I cussed. This unit was easy to assemble and has nice design features. Its smaller 6 gallon size makes using it on a regular basis a breeze. You will not break your back lugging it around. The Shop Vac has a large handle on top and pulls easily on four large swiveling casters. It comes with an effective air filter that gets the job done. Also included, is one disposable bag. This was bought as a replacement to a shop-vac that we had for years and finally quit for good. The vac was purchased for a small basement that serves as a large storm cellar. When it rains a great deal we get puddles and this vac does the job of getting rid of the wet while the size makes it convenient to dump into sump hole or tote upstairs if required.

The floor/upholstery tool is cheap-needs a fiber insert to work up imbedded material. The more expensive 6 hp units probably perform better. It would be nice if it had a locking caster to keep it from rolling down the driveway when vacuuming the cars. The cord is very short and an extension cord is required. I haven''t used it for the wet application, but suspect it works just o.k. as well.

Best Water Filter by Bestfilters Under Sink Version

I bought UCT200 version of this directly from Best Filters as that version is currently not on Amazon. The reason I picked this was, it has a stainless steel case with a 0.5 micron coconut shell solid block filter. Installation was easy and the water has a good taste. I also upgraded the faucet to the brushed nickel premium faucet, which looks very nice and does not clash at all with my stainless steel faucet. The faucet was not too expensive. A similar product could cost you a couple hundred dollars on other websites. I have ordered other filters from them and have never had a problem. I actually called them due to a delay with this product due to it selling out fast and and the customer service was excellent. I gave it five stars because I do not have any complaints.

I just discovered Murphy''s Oil Soap about a month ago. I was looking for a good wood cleaner that has been tried and trusted, so I decided to give Murphy''s a try. I had a new, wood table that I built and after cleaning it with Murphy''s Oil Soap, I was very happy with the results!

Of all things, my little kitten helped me discover other uses for Murphy''s. While working through some litter box training issues, my kitten had accidently made a boo-boo on my leather dinning room chair. Murphy''s Oil Soap was the only cleaner I had available. I diluted some of Murphy''s Oil Soap in a spray bottle filled with water. I sprayed the diluted Murphy''s Oil Soap right on the leather chair, and using paper towels, cleaned it up. I reapplied it again spraying all over the chair and wiped it clean with paper towels again. WOW! to my surprise, it cleaned my leather chair perfectly! You would never in a million years guess that anything ever soiled my chair. It cleaned up all the mess and the odor was gone!

So, I thought, hum.. If Murphy''s can clean that, how will it do on my counters, stove top, refrigerator door, sinks, and such..That very same day I used it to clean my whole house and it worked like magic! Cleaned, everything, cut grease, and left a fresh, clean sent. So now, I no longer buy any other cleaner. I only use Murphy''s Oil Soap, diluted in a spray bottle for all my household cleaning!

I''ve also used Murphy''s Oil Soap diluted in a spray bottle to soak pots and pans with stuck-on, baked on food. I only had to soak it a few moments and it lifted it right off. I keep a small spray bottle next to the sink and I use it to clean the dishes off before I put them in the dish washer.

It works great for cleaning recyclable glass and plastics. I fill the bottle or jar with hot water, spray some Murphy''s inside and shake. It cleans it perfectly.

The only time I would use Murphy''s Oil Soap straight from the bottle is if I had a stain on my clothes. Put a drop, full strength on the clothes stain, rub it in and then put it through the washing machine. Other than that, always dilute it with water! Always test on the bottom edge of your fabric before you do that though.

Oh, one other really cool thing I discovered. Murphy''s Oil Soap contains citronella oil for the fragrance. Well, citronella oil is a natural bug repellent and repels ants, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks. So in my opinion only, if you use Murphy''s Oil Soap around your house, those critters just may think twice before coming inside! ;)

The only surface It''s not good for is glass because it''s a soap based product. Use vinegar for glass.

This is not really a "con", but you must make sure you dilute it to the proper ratio of cleaner to water. If you are even slightly leaning toward too much cleaner to water, it could produce a solution that might be too oily or leave behind a film. So, if you''ve tried this product in the past and you felt it was too oily for some surfaces, try mixing it again with less cleaner to your water mixture. With test and trial you''ll come up with the perfect ratio for all the surfaces you need to clean and it will clean great without leaving behind anything.

We have been using this product on our wood floors (in our current home) for over 35 years now. We use no other wood floor cleaner. We have been using Murphy Oil Soap in our homes for almost 50 years now and it was pretty much a standard in the homes of our parents.

Please keep in mind that this product IS NOT a floor wax, It is a natural oil cleaner. We have found that with its continual use that our floors maintain their original hand finished luster. The wood does not dry out nor is any of the finish on the floors ever removed, which by the way, many like products will do from time to time, depending upon the material used and the finish.

There are a couple of things to note about this product. First...never every too much of the stuff, a wee bit of this product goes a long, long way. If you do not follow the directions on the bottle and follow it precisely, i.e. adding too much cleaner to the water, then you could quite well have a mess on your hands in the form of a very oily and somewhat sticky residue. The old thought that "if a little works, then a lot should work even better," does not apply here so take warning! Second, if you have wooden cabinets, in particularly wooden cabinets with some of the newer finishes on them, you might want to test a small out of the way area first. If you use too much of this stuff, i.e. poor it on straight out of the bottle like a neighbor of ours did, then you risk ruining the finish of your wood work. This is really not the fault of the product; no, it is the fault of the user not following directions.

It should also be noted that this product SHOULD NOT be used on an unstained or unwaxed or unfinished wood surface. It is after all, water based and will make a mess of untreated or improperly treated wood.

It should also be noted that this is a pretty environmentally safe product; one that actually works.

Anyway, this product has kept our floors quite nice over the years and protected them from packs of undisciplined dogs, cats, children and grandchildren (my wife includes me in this rogues gallery). Actually, with the exception of a few accidental gouges here and there (my fault...I admit it), our floors look much the way the did in our current home as the day we had them installed; a bit mellower, that is true, but to be honest that is the look we had intended from the beginning.

This product is quite cost effective as a bottle, even in the size of home we have, goes a long, long way.

There you have it--a great liquid solution for cleaning wood surfaces and wooden floors.

This product can, according to some people I know, also be used to clean leather. However, I personally haven''t tried this one. If you want to try it, just clean a very inconspicuous area of the leather so that if it doesn''t satisfy you nobody will notice.

Obviously, this stuff is NOT meant to be ingested. Keep this product out of the way of children and pets.

There''s been some chatter about whether oil soap will actually damage your floors and leave a residue on them, so let me put that little rumor to rest right now. First of all, READ THE DIRECTIONS. You need to dilute this stuff before using it. By a LOT. Don''t just squirt it right from the bottle. I applied Murphy''s next to the Bona cleaner on my floors. Bona = dull matte finish. Murphy''s = clean and shiny. I had to go over the Bona section of the floor with the Murphy''s to make it shine again. I think I paid maybe $3 for my bottle at Target.

Braun FlavorSelect Patented Water Filter

I''ve enjoyed my Braun coffee maker, and this filter is one of the reasons. I have well water that already tastes great, but some grit gets into the tap water, and this filter takes care of that. As for the water filter, you might want to consider rinsing it after taking it out from the package before inserting it into the coffee maker. Also, I ran water through the coffee maker twice before making the first pot of coffee for the peace of mind. After reading all of the great reviews i thought this would be a great product. i have black granite counter tops and this is one of the worst products i have used. i actually cant think of anything that did a worse job. there is no shine. i even thought maybe i did not use it correctly and have used it several times and still no shine and counter tops look dull. i almost feel as if all of the reviews were left by loving family members of manufacturer.

First off, I find all the positive 5-star reviews on this product a little suspect. They all sound like, "Wow, what a great product! I also use the cleaner." Maybe they got some of their employees to write some reviews and made sure to mention the cleaner.

Anyhow, I bought it anyways and I''m fairly pleased. It goes on easy, has a slight lemon smell to it, and then buffs of pretty easily. My 5K worth of brazilian green granite counter tops are about a year old and they were starting to look a bit dull. Just weren''t as shinny as they used to be. This product definitely shines them up and gives them a smooth feeling, also making them easier to clean and keeping food from sticking. It''s certainly not a glossy armor all like shine, so I can see why some people with very dark counter tops might not be impressed. But overall I was satisfied with the easy application and the noticeably improved look of my granite. Unfortunately I don''t have any products to compare to.

Very important, don''t forget to seal your granite first, and don''t use the cheap stuff for this. I picked up some Miracle Sealants Superseal from home depot for about $40. Pricey, but seals really well. Liquids bead up and can''t penetrate the stone. You have to do this about once a year.

I ordered this product based on various positive reviews. I was not disappointed.

When I first applied the product, I was uncertain as to whether it was really doing the job on the grout, but I did not realize how dirty our light colored grout had become. Wow, what a difference. I used the dilution ratio of 1 product to 5 water and it cleaned very well. I do have a couple of spots to redo now that I can see the difference in the colors. The spots that I need to redo are around the main cooking area and I may change the dilution ratio for those particular areas.

We have a very large kitchen/dining area and it is all tiled so it took me a good part of the day since I only did small areas at a time. I put the product on with a sponge mop and used a scrub brush and a toothbrush to get into the grout. Our tile has been down since 2005 and even with regular cleaning, I still am surprised at the good results with Aqua Mix. A little goes a very long way.

I will definitely purchase this product again when I need it.

I bought this grout cleaner and followed the directions exactly as given. After my tile floor dried, I didn''t see any difference on my grout, what a disappointment! I then bought a much cheaper product, the Totally Awesome Grout Cleaner, and it WAS awesome! Now my grout looks like new! Don''t waste your money on this one.
