Purenex SS-1 Countertop Water Filter (Chrome) Save 13% Off

Purenex SS-1 Countertop Water Filter, Chrome
  • Replacement cartridge lasts 1 year for a family of four
  • Removes Lead, mercury, crypto, giardia, MTBE, VOC''s, THM''s
  • Removes Chlorine and Chloramines
  • Less than 0.09 a gallon
  • NSF Tested and certified

Water from this filter tastes great. Installation is simple. Replacement filters are cheap (just bought one for 30 bucks). This works much better than your standard PUR or Brita IMO. Another good feature is the separate spout. If you have a shallow sink this is a must. You can get a glass of water even if your sink is full of dirty dishes. :)

I bought this filter after the water dispenser in my refrigerator died. It looks great on my countertop and produces very fresh-tasting "polished" water from my tap, without a trace of chlorine. Coffee and orange juice from frozen concentrate made with this water taste great -I even use the water in my humidifier, which makes the air in my house feel fresher, too. Installation was fairly easy, the unit comes with several faucet adapters, as well as a large plastic wrench for removing the hood to change filters. It feels light right out of the box but once there''s residual water in it from use it''s quite stable. I thought the hose from the faucet to the filter might get in the way when swinging the faucet from side-to-side but that hasn''t been the case -it''s long enough to allow the filter to sit next to my standard-size sink with no tugging. Water flow from the filter is very good, it fills a gallon pitcher in about 30 seconds (compared to my refrigerator, which took more than a minute just to fill a large glass). The valve that diverts water from the faucet to the filter works flawlessly, but expect a little drippage from the filter spout for a few minutes after use (not a big deal). I can''t verify the claims for what chemicals the filter is actually removing from my water (other Web sites say it reduces 97% of lead, mercury, etc.), but the taste of my tap water is greatly improved.

I''ve had mine for a couple of months and the flow rate hasn''t noticeably diminished yet. I fill up a water pitcher in the morning in order to make efficient use of the filter. It looks good and doesn''t get in my way like those faucet-mounted contraptions with much lower flow rates and dinky filters that don''t last very long you see in the stores. Only having to change filters annually is very convenient. Short of buying a whole-house filter this is the filter to get.

I waited a week of using the product before submitting a review. When you see such good reviews you start to think a couple of things is it the company themselves writing these reviews or people who haven''t really review the product properly, because reading these reviews your hoping that they are trustworthy to base your next buy on. Well I can say I really like this filter. Installation was easy and you really do taste the difference. I even went as far as to not only taste the water but look at it''s clarity, I used 2 clear see through containers catch water from the tap it''s self and water from the filter and you can see the difference when holding them together to look. I am now having my family try to invest and the fact that you have up to a year use of the filter with a family of four helps me to save money, I will always check though when filter needs to be changed. Other than me checking would like to know when do you know it actually needs changing would it be a year from installation these are the only questions I would ask.

This is a good basic water purifier that is very easy to hook up and use, removes most impurities, and is reasonably priced. The connector snaps onto the faucet and the countertop unit only takes up about 4" of space.

Keurig Water Filter Replacement Starter Kit

Keurig Water Filter Replacement Starter KitI bought two of these filters. I installed one in my B70 at home and the other in my B60 in my office.

The B70 continues to work but the B60 is no longer working. The pump runs and makes noise but the machine does not take in water. I contacted Keurig who told me that the newer machines have a "more sensitive" pump and that these filters have been causing problems. Sounds like the newer machines have a weaker pump that can''t pull the water through.

Since removing the filter, the machine only sometimes works so Keurig has offered to replace it with a new machine.

They recommended I remove the filter from my B70 before it also breaks and offered me a free 24 pack of coffee to make up for the $36 I spent on these two filters (purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond)

Good cust service, no complaints there... but I don''t recommend his filter (and Keurig agrees)

I received a new Keurig for my birthday and I love it. I bought the filter separately after worrying about the minerals in my water. The first time I used it was a disaster. The machine only gave me half cup of coffee, made horrible noises and kept shutting off. I was afraid the machine was ruined but it worked fine without the filter. I decided to give it one more try before calling Keurig. I felt that it hadn''t been seated down right in the water reservoir so I installed the bottom part of the filter assembly in the empty tank first. It snapped in much better than trying to push the whole thing on at once. I tested it and water ran through great. I then carefully snapped the top half (with filter) into the bottom part of the assembly and crossed my fingers. Tested it again and to my delight the water ran through beautifully. Then tried again with coffee and had a great cup of coffee. I also soaked my filter for 30 minutes instead of 5minutes so it was thoroughly saturated. A little trouble but worth it. Hope this helps.

I love my Keurig brewer and thought the taste of my coffee brewed in it was fine, but after my first cup after installing the filter attachment the difference was amazing! This is a must have if you have a brewer that fits this attachment, it makes your Keurig experience even better! Easy to install and replace the filters!

This filter works as described. There is one unfortunate draw back with its use The filter housing blocks the blue light in the reservoir, making it more difficult to see the water level.

I bought a Keurig unit a week ago, and it came with a bonus "gift" of the water filter accessory. Initially, it seemed an odd fit in the water container portion of the unit, but I was able to place it there. The next morning, when I turned on the unit, it would not stay on. Every time I turned it on, it would turn off again within a few seconds. The water wouldn''t heat and the unit wouldn''t stay on. I removed the water filter accessory and have had no problems since. I don''t know what the connection is, but the unit wasn''t happy when the water filter accessory was attached. I use water from a Brita filter pitcher so I don''t really need the Keurig filter. Seemed like a good idea at the time....

Euroflex Monster Steam-Jet-II 1200w Disinfecting Floor Steam Cleaner Save 22% Off

Euroflex Monster Steam-Jet-II 1200w Disinfecting Floor Steam Cleaner With Carpet Glide and 2 UPGRADED Microfiber PadsAfter reading all the reviews I settled on the monster steam mop. After reading the directions I went to work. Steam appeared to be shooting from all directions around the mop head giving the appearance that this thing was working. But the bottom of the mop was just warm, all the steam coming from the sides looks great but did little to heat the mop pad. I was dissapointed and tried all the different pads, even pre wetting them to see if that helped. Nothing did and I thought I had a regular mop on my hands. I let it cool down and inspected the bottom. The steam was directed to the sides of the head via a couple of small channels. Not effective at all. I then saw three small screws holding a plastic cover on the bottom. Removed the screws and plastic cover, plugged it in and WOW, a real steamer. Tons of steam directed at the bottom of the head and actually got hot enough to disinfect. Give it a try. And your''e welcome.

I recived my Monster EZ2 on Saturday and I''ve used it to clean my downstairs since it''s all tiled.

First off, I think my expectations of just how WELL a steamer was going to clean were NOT realistic. That being said. It is VERY easy to use and it DOES clean!

Bad:

* It is VERY hard to push forward. I have had to use my foot at times to help push it forward. It is a strain!

* The pad WILL bunch up when pushing forward if you have not placed the pad far enough forward for the steamer to ''glide'' on the pad.

* I have a 13'' x 24'' living room & it takes at least 2 fill ups to clean the entire floor. That is not so bad for me since I''m a stay-at-home mom, but for others that are working, that can be time consuming.

* It takes two pads to clean my living room/hall area (again, not that large of an issue for me since I do not work out of the home).

* The major annoyance for ME is that small cup that include for you to use to fill the steamer with. EVERY time I have used it, some of the water will drip and dribble down the side of the steamer. The hole to the boiler is as big as the spout on the boiler. I have tried to use a funnel, but with how the handle is joined to the bottom of the steamer, my funnel was to large to sit properly so I could make use of it.

* There is no no/off switch. You plug in the steamer and instantly it goes to heating the water in the boiler. Moving the handle backward releases the steam from boiler into the jets on the bottom. Pushing the steamer back into the upright-storage position shuts the steam off, but keeps the boiler HOT.

* The screw top on the boiler is a bit tricky. It''s a good SAFE cap, but you MUST constantly push DOWN on it for it to unscrew or screw back on. Just annoying more then anything. Safety first I suppose. hehe

* There is a LONG wait (I feel) for the unit to cool down enough to put MORE water in. Supposedly you can place the unit in the upright position, wait 10 minutes and place more water in. I did just that, and steam was forcing out from the boiler as I unscrewed the cap!!! I''d UNPLUG the steamer and wait until it was COMPLETLEY cool before refilling it!

* Filling the steamer AFTER you have used all the water is VERY difficult!! The boiler its self is still VERY hot even after waiting the prescribed amount of time. The only way I now fill the boiler is to unplug and wait 20ish minutes!! That is a lenghy amount of time for someone who might work full time and not have the minutes to wait for a steamer when they need to clean up a mess!

* The steamer did NOT clean the dirt stained grout of my front entry way and bathroom. The tiles and grout are ''cleaned'' but the grout is still dirt stained and dirty looking.

Good:

* This steamer is amazingly light-weight!!! Literally can lift it with one hand, even filled!

* The steam jets on the bottom are very good at getting dirty areas of the floor clean with just letting the steamer sit 10-15 seconds on it!! AMAZING!!

* I can clean my VERY LARGE living room with only having to fill the steamer twice!

* Heating the steamer takes only a few minutes after plugged in.

* The indicator lights are VERY clear and VERY accurate:

~Green (the second light) is to indicate that the water has heated to steaming levels and ready.

~Yellow (the first light) is to indicate that you have water in the boiler. When the light goes off, no more water.

* The screw on boiler cap to fill the steamer is a push down as you turn. I''m VERY glad for this since when I went to refill the boiler to keep cleaning there evidently was enough water left in the bottom to form steam and it seeped out as I unscrewed the cap to add MORE water (I did wait the length of time as stated in the owners manuel) and a GUSH of water escaped when I finally got the cap off. Thankfully the push down cap allowed enough of the pressure and steam to release before I got the cap fully off, so I was not harmed!

* I can plug in the steamer, let it take the few moments it needs to heat up and start cleaning my floor! I keep water IN the steamer so it''s ready to go! I LIKE that it''s so light weight it''s soo dang easy to use for every day cleaning. It''s ready before I''m done sweeping! AWESOME

* The steam temp stays at a steady 203 degrees!! That''s NOT the steam BOOST on the front. So when it gets HOT....it gets HOT!

Conclusion:

I read SEVERAL reviews on here about other products. This one did have a good rating. The steam is VERY high (I think). It cleans what I need cleaning. Easy to use. VERY light weight. I LOVE that it came with two cleaning pads (since I use both when cleaning the whole of main floor). It''s VERY hard to push forward if you don''t get enough of the pad for the steamer to glide on. I haven''t yet used pad for steaming carpets, but I will be trying it out this weekend and will update then!

All in all it''s a handy steamer. Now that I have personal experiance with steamers I''m going to be looking at getting one that I can use on my walls and other items in my house with!!

Would I buy this steamer again? Now having experiance with one, I would go with a steamer that is more versatile that will do more. The heat of the steam is excellent and the light weight of the over all steamer is wonderful. It''s a nice every day use steamer. In the future I''ll be purchasing a more heavy duty cleaner.

Still a nice steamer for the price and worth what I paid for it! The biggest draw back is when pushing it forward on the floor.

I owned the shark steam mop for about a year and halfand I LOVED it. When it broke, and I went to buy another one, I noticed that in many many shark reviews, users mentioned that it tended to live only about a year, which was my own experience. Considering that they aren''t cheap, I started reading reviews for a comparable or better steam mop that would live for a longer time. Over the course of a week, I browsed reviews on every single steam mop available for sale on Amazon among other sitesthe Monster seemed to do very well across the board. I have owned it now about 6 months and I am NOT happy. First let me preface this by saying that I am a single female, living in NYCMy apartment is not large, and I do not have heavy foot/animal traffic in my home. My shark replaced my traditional mop, floor cleaner fluid and bucket ENTIRELY. I am a very clean person who is rather meticulous about my home, and when there are large spills, I use a sponge/paper towels, floor cleaner, elbow grease, etci.e I use my steam mop for traditional linoleum/wood upkeep and general dirt removal NOT for large accidents or spills. I am also an aerialist weighing about 135 lbs and I haul my body weight around by my arms and legs while suspended in the airi.eI am much, much stronger than your average female. I mention this specifically because in my ll by 7 foot kitchen, the drag on this thing is RIDICULOUSI am literally dragging it back and forth, putting in a ton of effort to move it along the floor to the point where I break a sweat, my arm gets tired and my back starts to ache; in a TINY kitchen! I''d put up with the effort, no problem, if the thing cleaned well, but it DOES NOT! 1 person''s foot traffic should be no trouble to remove from floors, but after several passes in one area, the dirt does not come up much. So I end up getting out my sponge and cleaner and going down on my hands and knees to spot clean the areas that the monster simply could not combat. I NEVER had this issue with the shark. Alsoas mentioned previously, my apartment is a TINY NYC apartmentwith the shark, one tank cleaned the kitchen, hallway, living room and bedroom, often with water to spareNOT the monster.I''m lucky if the kitchen is semi done in one tank. Perhaps, since I have to make 10 passes to achieve half the result of 2 with the shark, I am using a lot more watergranted, that must be truebut considering the monster only takes 2.5 of the given water filler cup that comes with the unit ( which equals to one standard size coffee mug and a half of water), I have to let the unit cool down entirely before filling up again to do the rest of the apartment. What used to take me 15 minutes to do with the Shark, now takes me an hour with poor results to boot. Lastly, besides poor cleaning ability and heaviness, this thing, as pictured, is structured like a domeand it''s lip only juts out about a half inch in front of the domeso along the cabinets and sideboards, this thing does not even touch the perimeter at all since it''s reach is obstructed by the large dome on top. Basically, I am throwing it out after giving it a very long trial period, and resigning myself to spending about 100 dollars a year on Sharks.

Hello, if you are like me you have read all the reviews for steam mops on amazon, overstock and searched consumer reports, good house keeping rankings, etc. All I can tell you is this mop works and gets super hot. I almost bought the envirosteamer but then I remembered I never had a Eureka Vacuum cleaner that lasted longer than a year why would their mop be any different.

This mop is not heavy or hard to push. Folks that are saying that the monster s super heavy and hard to push need more iron in their diet. If you can pick up a 5lb weight you can handle this mop. The mop glides over the floor when you angle the handle and push on it. It gets super hot. As far as the handle breaking and being flimsy? The handle is fine, it is plastic that has a hard metal sleeve over the length of the plastic handle. I did not feel like the handle was going to break at any moment. If you are pushing this mop and you have a death grip on the handle I think you would likely break quite sweat trying to bend or break the handle. It''s fine, buy the green monster mop shown on this page and you will be fine. I bought this one because it did not have that bizarre ergonomic experimental shape like the red and blue EZ1 Steam Mops shown on amazon, if your mop handle was going to break it would be likely due to the curve of the handle on these two models. Get this one (The green one with the straight handle) and you should be good to go. I used it as soon as it arrived which was today. It only took a moment to put together. I let it heat up on the parking pad for three minutes after I put the 2 cups of water in as directed. I did use distilled water because I have no plans to ever clean the boiler on this thing. Do read the instructions line up the little arrows and you will be fine. It works just like as seen in the picture. I had steam billowing out of this little monster in less than three minutes.

I also used the cleaning solution that came with it and I did not care for the smell too much but after seeing how this thing actually gets super hot you really don''t need it. My floors dried quickly and they looked clean. This is my first steam mop and I am keeping it. I decided I wanted a mop that got the hottest so my floors would dry quick, and that mission has been accomplished.

In my opinion I think the video of the envirosteamer shows what a cheap piece of crap Eureka makes, I have had Eureka Vacuums and they have been true barkers....

I will report back once I try out the carpet glide.

I checked out the shark mop in Walmart and it looked cheap, I am not sure if it works good but I am throwing my support behind monster. If you want clean floors that look and smell clean I would buy the monster steam mop. As a shopping tip do check amazon well since this mop is priced differently by different vendors on amazon.

the only thing im upset about is that i bought this on QVC for $105 abnd here it sells for so much less with free shipping

but After all the things I have purchased recently, this is the best. I have always disliked mopping floors. This is so easy to use and does a great job. I no longer feel like I am pushing dirty water around but really getting the dirt up. And the floors look great also. With a 9 month old kid crawling on them, I really want them clean. Wish I had found this years ago. This may be what I get my sisters an d mother for Christmas. Anything that makes life easier so i guess it is even worth the $105 i paid! but if you can get it for this than it is Truly a no-brainer

Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Plus 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Save 55% Off

Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Plus 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Hot Water System, Black/StainlessSince we don''t usually need a full pot of coffee except on weekends -I typically just grab a Starbucks "Via" instant coffee on the way to work in the morning (a pretty remarkable innovation, by the way) -I was attracted to the hot water dispenser on this coffee maker. I like it particularly because of its 58-ounce capacity -meaning that you don''t have to keep refilling it if you''re just using it once each morning to fill a car mug. My wife prefers tea to coffee, and she loves being able to get a cup of really hot water whenever she likes. (We fill it with spring water, and the results are superb.) I haven''t had any problem with the "add water" light, as another reviewer apparently did. I was concerned about squandering energy by keeping a reservoir of water constantly hot, but it doesn''t. It keeps only about 13 ounces of water at serving temperature; the rest of the reservoir is unheated. It doesn''t take all that much energy to keep 13 ounces of water hot. And if you know you won''t be wanting hot water for a while, you can just turn it off with the on/off button. I had expected it to heat water instantly through some kind of coil system -much like an under-sink unit does -but not so. As a result, if the unit hasn''t been on, there''s about a 3-minute wait for the water to reach the right temperature. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish the hot water dispenser were programmable in the way the coffee maker is, but it isn''t. You have to start it manually. (No you can''t use an outlet timer because the unit has an electronic on/off switch.) I also wish the hot water dispenser had a temperature adjustment (the coffee maker does); the water it dispenses is so hot that I have to wait for several minutes before I can drink any beverage I make with it. Finally, some Cuisinart coffee makers have a strength adjustment but this doesn''t. But these are minor quibbles; it''s still a great appliance. The coffee maker itself works as well as an automatic drip coffee maker can -always a function of trial-and-error at the beginning (what kind and how much coffee you use). It uses a cone filter (#4) -which in my humble opinion always delivers better coffee than the flat filters used in so many other coffee makers -including a lot of Cuisinart models -and the water is sprayed onto the coffee by a showerhead array in the reservoir lid. (Tip for review "Me2": Pour water into the coffee maker by putting the lip of the carafe on the rear LEFT corner and pour it in that way. It''s a lot easier and you won''t spill any.)

I looked at a LOT of different coffee makers before deciding on this model. Buying a coffee maker has to be one of the hardest things to buy. The problems come in because everyone has a different take on what coffee is supposed to taste like and unfortunately many of them are dead wrong. The most important thing for anyone that really enjoys coffee the way it is supposed to be made is that the water heats up to a sufficient temperature (greater than 190 degrees). This allows for the best flavor to be extracted from the coffee ground without that bitter taste that you get when the temperature is too low. Since most people don''t know that you don''t find that information in most reviews. I found that information in the good reviews for this product and it had an overall rating of 4.5 at the time that I purchased it but I was a bit concerned with some of the bad reviews. They pointed to things like the carafe leaking, the hot water dispenser side leaking or not functioning correctly, bad tasting water, etc. Well, I''m happy to report that I have not seen any of these problems.

Pros

1) Hot water dispenser heats water to 185 degrees. This is perfect for anything you might want to use it for.

2) The coffee maker side heats the water to about 200 degrees. This is GREAT for making a really good cup of coffee.

3) The coffee temperature allows the coffee too stay warm even after I add half & half.

4) The lid on the carafe is NOT hinged which means that it doesn''t flop around when you''re pouring and it doesn''t have a flimsy hinge to break.

5) The hot water dispenser side is HUGE, much larger than it looks in the pictures. That is why I''ve uploaded some pictures with mugs sitting on it and my tape measure showing the actual size. It fits both very wide and very tall mugs.

6) The auto-off setting is adjustable from 1-4 hours. This is great for my mom who likes to brew a pot and drink it all morning.

7) The indicator lights on the hot water side that let you know when the water is ready and when you need to add water are great.

8) Indicator light lets you know when it is time to clean the unit.

Cons

1) I''m not really sure how much safer the safety lock is on the hot water side. Anyone that can reach the lever can EASILY slide that safety lock to the left.

2) This is a small nitpick but pointing out small things like this show how much I really like this coffee maker. In order to set the clock you switch the switch to Clock and then hold down the HR button until the time starts blinking. What else am I going to do while I have the switch set to Clock? Why do I have to hold down that button too? The only reason this actually bugs me is because if you hold it down a split second too long it will begin to change the hour. So if you only wanted to change the minute it can be annoying.

3) This is only a con at first. The first time you pour water into the coffee side the angle of where you have to pour it makes you feel like you''re going to spill it. Not to worry though. The design of the carafe and the fact that the flipped up lid will catch the water if you go to far make it really easy. Just don''t hesitate and you''ll find that it is as easy as pie to pour the water in.

Finally, this thing makes a GREAT TASTING cup of coffee. I can''t believe I finally have a drip coffee maker that I enjoy using. Prior to this any time I wanted a good cup of coffee I would break out my French Press.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. I''ll be glad to check it out and get back to you.

This machine was to make both the coffee hound and the tea lover in our family happy in the morning. Only one of us is happy.. No complaints at all with the coffee maker..

The hot water dispenser has a strong bad taste that I cant get rid of with repeated vinegar or the 1 cup of lemon juice suggested by the customer service representative.. She had heard my story many times before..

The taste is similar to drinking out of a garden hose. The customer rep assured me that the insides are stainless steel and not plastic. I think there may be some quality control issues...

Even if I could get the bad taste out, the dispenser will only release 16 oz of water for the 32 oz you must put into it. This leaves 16 oz to sit until the next day to be reheated when you add 16 oz of new water.

You must always put in 32 oz to get out 16 oz. If you put in any amount less than 32 oz, the "add water" light will come on after only 6 oz drawn out..The machine will not let you take more than this out--even thought there is plenty more inside of it.

Consequently the new water put in always mixes with the old water that is both stale and bad tasting. Who wants day old water that has the taste diminished further by reheating?

I see this as a big design flaw that requires you to take the entire machine to the sink, pull the very ergonomically incorrect and difficult plug out of the bottom and manually drain it... The manual tells you to do this if the water has been in the dispenser a week or more...

There always will be water in the dispenser a week or more.. yuck..

I say back to the drawing board with this item..

Not what I expected from Cuisinart...

My last old Cuisinart bit the dust so I was in the market for a new one. I had also been in the market for a water kettle but really did not like the idea of having one more appliance on my counter top. When I checked out the Cuisinart web site to see what was new I was blown away by the idea of this coffee maker that also dispensed hot water!! I was so excited about it I had it sent overnight.

I have only had it for a day but oh what a wonderful cup of coffee I had this morning and right now I am loving the convenience of having hot water available for my tea drinking!

Pros: Everything!! In perfect working order and I was able to follow the manufacture''s instructions on hot water without any problems at all! Best cup of coffee I have had even counting my old Cuisinart!

Cons: Only 1 negative so far. It is awkward pouring water into the coffee maker side and I guess I will need more practice at this to keep from splashing water all over everything.

So far extremely pleased with my purchase!!

This is really a great unit. Coffee brews perfectly. As far as the water dispenser, mine works fine. It notices water levels etc. The only thing is that the water will start to smell bad (metallic) if it is left in the resevoir too long. I would say follow the instructions. It says to empty the water resevoir fully if you do not plan to run the water function for more than a week, or to store the unit. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the unit (who knew)... I drained it and refilled it, flushed a couple of times and the water is much better. No more metallic taste/smell... OK, Just an FYI...

Soleus Air DP1-70-03, 70 Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier, WhiteMy basement runs about 80% humidity all year round and stays about a constant 62 as well.I have had this unit running for a month and it has done everything I have asked of it.The basement is 1200 square foot and this dehumidifier has lowered the humidity to 55% which is where I have it set.I have it hosed to a drain and it is fairly loud on the high setting. The only negative I would note is the bucket seems a little flimsy if you are opting not to hose it to a drain.Actually it is the handle of the bucket that is suspect.Overall very happy with this product.

Got this unit for a great price from stacks and stacks! Great delivery time, well packaged for shipping. Unit works great so far, noise is not too bad, but it is a 70 pint, going to be louder than smaller units, as expected. I am running this in my utility room of an otherwise finished basement, so I am usually not in the same room with it trying to watch TV or listen to music.

I always seem to over-research things like this before buying, glad I did this time, perfectly happy with this unit and would definitely recommend the product and the seller!

I bought the dehumidifier about a month ago, and have been using it in my incredibly humid bedroom. It removes a LOT of moisture in the air up there. The space is about 400 sq feet, and there is no more condensation on any of the windows, not even the ones all the way across the room from it.

I don''t recommend running it at night though, as it will dehumidify YOU! It''s also a bit noisy and blows cold air. But it has really helped a LOT in keeping mold at bay, especially, which is something we worry about here in the Pacific NW.

It is very easy to empty, and on average probably removes at least two gallons of air from the room a DAY.

The controls are intuitive, smartly layed out with easy to read large digital numbers. Everything is easy to use and understand. The noise is relatively modest in "full thrust" mode and you can also control the fan speed to reduce noise even further. It makes a rushing air noise that is not objectionable at all nor does the sound carry into adjacent rooms.

The Soleus is truly impressive in its ability to remove moisture from the air rapidly. I checked the units humidity setting accuracy to a reference humidistat. The Soleus was almost spot on.

The unit is energy star rated, has automatic restart, and will shut off if water container is full. It is also cosmetically pleasing to look at. It has a retractable handle on top and casters to move it about easily. Other reviewers have stated it is reliable over time. I hope to enjoy it for years. Very smartly designed unit and I recommend it.

To start, overall I am happy with this purchase.

Now for some clarifications and critiques.

It is a 70 pint per day. That is 8.75 Gallons/day. The bucket is at most 3 gallons, probably closer to 2 gallons.

It is only capable of doing 70 pints/day if the conditions are correct, i.e. temperature is ~68°F.

It doesn''t say anywhere how big of a room it can really manage.

The humidity readout is in 5% increments.

Details about my basement:

It is unheated and therefore close to 60°F

It is ~1600 square feet.

Performance after 1 month:

When I turned it on, it read that we had an 80% humidity. After running 24/7 (drain hose hooked up) for a month we are now at 60% humidity. It has not shut off yet(we have it set to shut off at 50%).

Reduce Vision Water Filtration Pitcher Save 11% Off

Reduce Vision Water Filtration Pitcher, Stainless SteelThe Reduce Vision Pitcher arrived today and was supposed to replace an old, leaky plastic Brita pitcher. When I took it out of the box I was surprised how thin the stainless steel and how light-weight it was, but I kind of liked that because it meant it wouldn''t be too heavy to lift when fully filled with water.

I carefully hand-washed it first, dried it, soaked and rinsed the filter, filled the pitcher twice, poured the water out immediately each time just like I had done for years with my various Brita pitchers. I then filled it a third time "for real", and left the house for two hours. When I came back I was surprised to notice that the surface below it was soaking wet. I transferred the pitcher to a dry kitchen towel and actually watched how an ever growing puddle started forming immediately: There was an almost invisible tear a few inches to the left of the water level window and about 1 inch up from the bottom. I could feel the spot it was a small dent with tiny horizontal tears.

At first I thought Oh, we received a lemon. Let''s just return and order a new one. My husband took a closer look and we then saw that the problem is with the design (and probably also quality and workmanship it is made in you-know-where) of the pitcher. You see, the bottom is a separate part from the body of the pitcher. One cannot see this from the outside but it is visible when one looks inside the pitcher. Apparently the pitcher''s thin stainless steel material was somehow dented during transport or even manufacturing, which in turn must have created this stress tear along the line where the bottom and the body come together, causing it to leak like crazy.

I cannot recommend this pitcher because of this problem. If the body were actually one piece INCLUDING the bottom, I would still love it and just get a replacement. But the way it is designed, it is only a question of time when a leak would show on a replacement model.

I have never seen stainless steel tearing/cracking like this. The search for a better-than-plastic (Brita-compatible) pitcher continues...

Mine leaks at the bottom of the clear plastic window on the left. I should have purchased at Costco so I could return it to any store instead of having to figure out how to return via mail. I guess that''s the risk you take with buying online.

Buy Reduce Vision Water Filtration Pitcher Now

I bought this because it is the only stainless steel pitcher (in my price range) on the market as far as I know. I''ve used brita and pur pitchers in the past and had few issues with them but since I moved I''ve been trying to avoid plastic kitchenware. I don''t particularly like the idea of consuming water/food that has been sitting in plastic.

While this pitcher is not entirely plastic-free, the majority of it is. There are two plastic "windows" showing the water level (I wish these were glass...) and the handle, filter and lid are entirely made of plastic.

What''s really nice is that the filter is shaped like brita and pur filters so I can buy those filter brand to replace the one that came with this pitcher.

This is quite large, it holds 10 cups of water (compared to a standard pur pitcher that holds 7 cups) but I think it still looks nice on my counter. It is about the width of a gallon of milk and fits perfectly in my fridge door. There is a stainless steel grate just inside the spout so you can use this to serve beverages with ice in them if you remove the plastic filter holder (which is very easy to do!)

So far I am pleased with my pitcher. I wanted to get away from plastic containers and this mostly does the trick. My only concern is that there still seems to be a lot of plastic on it the top part and the part that shows how full it is, but I couldn''t find a better alternative and it''s mostly steel. My other comment is that the steel feels a bit flimsy. This doesn''t seem to be an issu so far though. Wate tastes great. Overall am glad I bought it.

After seeing a few documenteries on the safety of water and plastic containers I decided to get rid of all plastic food and water containers in the house. It takes very little research to understand that plastic in not good for you and something must be done. And just because a product is labeled "BPA free" isn''t good enough for me, because that BPA is replaced with something else which is probably not good eats either.

After replacing all food containers, baby bottles, and water containers with glass and corningware, I kept checking online for glass water filter pitchers, and they just weren''t there. I found many many blogs from other people doing the same thing, but no luck. Finally, just a couple weeks ago, I found an article about the first ever stainless steel water filter pitcher at some product convention. Immediately I went to trusty ol'' Amazon, and there it was, "Add to Cart".

I''ve had the Reduce Vision water pitcher for a week now, and am deffinitely impressed. It came early, love that super saver shipping that gets there in two days. It was well packaged. I washed it, soaked the filter, filled and dumped twice, used it, tasted just fine(with the fresh Cascades water we get here in NYC, might inherently taste a little different in Texas or D.C., been there, yuck!) then threw away the old Britta.

PROS:

~light weight

~easy to clean

~nearly no plastic(until they make a stainless steel or glass filter we can''t escape plastic 100%)

~water tastes great

CONS:

~it sweats like a dehumidifier when it is taken out of the refrigerator

~holds about 8 1/2 cups of water, not the advertised 10, which is a minor complaint. The pitcher holds 10, but at about 81/2 the water stops flowing through the filter.

All in all a great product. I gave it 4 stars just because it''s not 100% plastic free, but it''s a great start!

Came home to flooded house, like many others I have learned. The filter has a failure point at the bottom seam around the filter bottom. Insinkerator simply pawned me off to 3M who they say is the manufacturer. While I could not say for certain that we replaced the filter exactly at the 3 month interval recommended, I know we did replace within a reasonable period. I am one of many I have now learned who have had thousands of dollars of damage caused by this filter leaking. So be ware of the potential risk which could be very costly. 3M tried to blame it on how old the filter was from its manufacturing date rather than how long I actually had it installed. I wish I would have known about this risk up front as I would have never bought this system! Insinkerator needs to be much more transparent about these known problems and also do the right thing to help customers who have to suffer from this poorly manufactured product filter. The filter was even analyzed at an independent lab who determined it failed prematurely. You would think Insinkerator would be heavily involved in getting 3M to correct this problem as its their brand that is on the product

I was ignored and finally emailed QVC customer service, to find that QVC was just as bad and tragic as The Barrier company. No one cared. Qvc just wanted to make their money off of you but couldn''t care less if you (the customer) ever found the replacement filters. I finally had to call the "Barrier Corp." in Chicago Il. where I found a very nice man who explained that he got a million calls a day from angry customers who can''t find the filters! I have owned this for over a year. Yes it does require some strength to use and the cloth head does get wet (it''s steam right) but I prefer it over a wring mop or sponge mop. I am impressed with how dirty the cloth head is after it is used and I like the idea of cleaning without chemicals. My sister has a similar steam mop but with a rectangular head instead of the triangular head which she says makes it harder to get in between some things.

I have had this for over a year and my only problem was it hurt my hand keeping the handle depressed. I solved it by using a thick rubber band. Once I start it up, I let the rubber band keep the handle depressed and when I need to take a break, I slide it away. I usually go through two pads, the first one can get dirty. From time to time, I use another floor cleaner with a scrubber and soap but most of the time I am just thrilled to use this steam cleaner. Everything feels so clean afterwards. I just love how clean it feels with barefeet and it couldn''t be easier. I am about to replace the filter. Perhaps I should have replaced it already but I really wasn''t sure what to look for to indicate when it should be replaced. Maybe I missed that in the instructions.

BUNN ST Velocity Brew 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Home Coffee Brewer Save 32% Off

BUNN ST Velocity Brew 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Home Coffee BrewerCoffee is my beverage of choice. Drink it constantly. I''m not a compulsive gourmand, but over the years I''ve gained enough knowledge to be sophisticated and demanding of a decent drink.

Coffee pots have a simple mission, really. To properly heat and immerse the grounds in water so that what goes into the carafe is hot and flavorful. There are a lot of other nuances about the beans, the grind, the water; but that''s not the pot''s problem. In our self imposed spaz world of multitask, no-time-to-do-anything-intelligently, insanity we need clocks and timers on everything to ensure we can snatch at a premade cup of joe on our way to the car.

The Bunn home system answer to these issues is that they promise a 3 minute brewed pot, on demand, of nice hot coffee. Who needs timers. It''s that quick.

Welllll.

You have to understand that Bunn''s are preload immersion heaters. When you first unbox the pot, before you ever turn the pot on, you will need to fill the coffee maker with water ( good idea to keep an old carafe around to measure your water input ''cause Bunn''s don''t have water levels to see how much water is in the tank ). Once you''ve filled the reservoir you can turn the pot on. Then you have to wait 15 minutes to preheat the reservoir. I don''t know how you feel about having a constant running appliance on your table top while no ones home. I unplug all my kitchen appliances when I''m not using them. So if you want home brew with an unplugged Bunn you have to do the preload ritual every time you plug it back in.

As to making the coffee. The STX is a 10 cup carafe styled maker. Some of the complaints made by others demonstrate their unfamiliarity with the concept. Under high heat coffee deteriorates in 15 minutes ( remember the ole lead pencil flavored burned coffee? yum yum. ) For better tasting and relatively sustained heat it is best that you make smaller batches and use a carafe. You sacrafice the convenience of not having to make more for the happiness of good brew. ( Another trick anybody who ever used a thermos should know is that you should preheat the thermos by putting warm tap water in it for a minute before brewing. Putting hot coffee in a cold thermos is duhh. )

Coffee of your choice goes into the hopper. The box comes with 20 Bunn paper filters for starts. Place your empty warmed, and sealed thermos carafe under the hopper. Open the water port on the top of the Bunn. Use an old coffee pot carafe to put the desired amount of fresh cold water into the top of the pot. There is a ground in the pot that will not allow brewing to occur until you close the water port on top of the Bunn. Remember you have a preheated reservoir. As soon as you close the port water smacks your grounds and the carafe starts to fill.

Is it worth it? Are you getting that much better of a cup of coffee the Bunn way? I can''t answer that for you. I just got the pot yesterday and I''ve had two pots out of it so far. You can certainly infer that this isn''t the Holy Grail of coffee pots. ( But what is. )

If you play by the pre-immersion rules you can get a really fast pot of coffee. It does a pretty good job of keeping your coffee reasonably hot. I have yet to find a home system that got you a cup that stayed hot to the last swig: the Bunn came close, but no cigar.

How does the coffee taste? It''s very good. But the Bunn filters are very heavy and they tend to homogeonize the begeeppers out of what you''re drinking. By that I mean the output has a very bright flavor and nose that is very pleasing to the front of your mouth. But some of the back of the palate strong notes get stripped away from the coffee. I''m going to have to go get a reuseable basket and see what sort of results that will allow.

I''ll probably update this later with some matured impressions.

This is an excellent system. But it''s one in a busy field.

Addendum:

It''s been a few days since I''ve started using the Bunn. I did get a gold reusable basket filter, and as far as I''m concerned it is a large improvement over the Bunn paper filter. The Bunn method does tend to make a very smooth cup of coffee; but the basket filter let a little more sediment into the cup and gives you some back of the palate flavoring.

Also I tend to use a heaping tablespoon of grounds per cup. Too much for the Bunn. Three cups on this system with my usual mix and Im getting a wicked buzz from coffee I haven''t experienced in decades (lol). For 8 cups 6 tablespoons is plenty.

I''m sticking with the 4 stars. This is a well thought out system. But the output is an acquired taste. I''m not swept off my feet by the Bunn.

We''ve had the Bunn STX coffee maker for a couple of months now. It replaced out 10 year old Bunn BT-10 that develop a leak.

Pluses:

Design. It''s gorgeous! Looks like something Jonathan Ivee of Apple would design. Form follows function here (always a good thing) but form is fantastic!

Good hot coffee fast. Less than 5 minutes for a carafe full of perfect coffee. Can''t beat that.

Customer service. As good as it gets.

Minuses:

The carafe. You cannot pour out all the coffee in the carafe without taking the lid off. Towards the end of the carafe, coffee will start to come out of the hole in the lid. And the rubber seal in the top of the lid was not well thought out. It comes out easily. I washed the lid in the dishwasher (top rack) and it must''ve come out. I didn''t notice it till later. I emailed Bunn customer service and they sent me two of them for free. I love their customer service. With the old BT-10, the deliming tool was a steel spring-type contraption. Ours got rusty and Bunn customer service sent us a new one free of charge.

So, would I buy it again? Yes. I only wish the carafe was more like our old BT-10.

I was one of the first customers of this STX brewer. Full disclosure: Bunn awarded me this Bunn as a result of me winning their video contest earlier this summer. I have used Bunn brewers for about 10 years. This particular thermal model is solidly built compared to their last model which was all plastic, and would kind of bend at the slightest pressure if any were given on the top of the machine. Not so with this one. The quality can even be seen in the grounds basket not your usual thin plastic basket. This one is very sturdy thick plastic, surrounded by stainless steel. The coffee produced is the usual Bunn quality great. I''ve used this brewer every day and it consistently gives me the same quality pot of coffee. An even better value when purchased via stores like Amazon where the price is better than what can be had in your regular retail stores.

I REALLY like this coffee maker but I wish I could give it a rating of 4.5 because a 5 implies it''s perfect and well, there are a couple of things I would change if given the chance.

First, and most importantly,it makes great coffee! It''s piping hot when I pour my first cup and it tastes worlds better than the coffee I was getting from my 1 year old Mr. Coffee. The unit looks and feels solid and the set up is easy. In about 15 minutes or so we were ready to brew our first pot.

It''s fast, the second you close the lid it, the stream of coffee starts and the pot is done in 3-4 minutes. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee much warmer than my old glass carafe ever did, although it isn''t perfect.

OkSpeaking of imperfections, here''s the few things I would improve if I could:

I''m used to setting up my coffee pot the night before and having it ready when I wake up, this unit does not have that feature. It brews fast, so I didn''t think it would be a big deal however I now have to get up and in my "morning fog" prepare the coffee and "warm up" the carafe...This in reality probably adds as much time to the process as it takes to brew the whole pot. Most of the time is spent warming the carafe (waiting for the water to get hot out of the tap seems to take forever in my place at 5am) so I might try experimenting with setting up as much as possible the night before and then just warming up the carafe or seeing how long it stays warm if I don''t pre-warm it. Anyway, a delay feature would be added if I were Queen.

I would also make the mouth of the carafe just a tiny bit wider so your hand could slip in and out for cleaning. Also, while the carafe pours like a dream (no dribbles like Mr. Coffee left for me to clean up evey morning) a tighter seal would make the coffee stay hotter longer. This is a minor detail in my personal use, since I have a cup or 2 and I''m out the door.

Lastly, MADE IN CHINA. Just seeing this on a product now raises questions about it''s safety. I would feel so much better about the product if I saw "MADE IN USA" instead.

I''m thrilled with my new coffee pot, and as long as the unit proves reliable, this will be a purchase I won''t regret. I''ve quit stopping off for a "good" cup of coffee on my way to work, and just taking my own.

It seems that everyone who writes a review for a high-end coffee maker is either a condescending twit or an utter dipshizzle. I hope I can find a middle ground (utter twit?) to help you decide to buy the Bunn STX coffee maker.

The initial set up of this coffee maker is easy. My initial impression of the coffee maker is that it is simple, sturdy, and well made. Most of the components are stainless steel, including the funnel basket, the thermal carafe and the tank. The lid to the thermos is well-made, with clear arrows indicating the quarter-turn to tighten the lid. There are no leaks, fluid pours out quickly, and maybe a tablespoon of coffee is left in the bottom when you pour the last cup. There is only one "vacation" switch that controls the tank heater: on or off. To brew coffee you slide shut the lid of the water inlet--after the thermal carafe is replaced under the funnel, which might be contrary to your current routine.

Initially, you must prime the tank heater with water before you can make your first batch. The instructions were clear and this was easy. A pot of coffee truly takes less than three minutes to brew with the machine''s preheated water. This coffee maker is supposed to be left on so that it keeps the water in the tank at 200 degrees at all times; if you choose to turn off the pot to save electricity, it takes approximately 10 minutes to heat the water again. The machine is somewhat loud when it is actively heating cool water, but when the heater turns off you know the water is ready. A second pot of coffee can be made immediately, as long as you have emptied the thermos.

Because the machine brews so quickly, there is no need for a "pause brew" feature. Because it brews into a thermos, there is no need for a plate warmer. Because this coffee pot is intended for coffee aficionados who appreciate fresh-ground beans, there is no clock or timer. Because there''s not a bunch of gizmos to flake out, this coffee pot does one thing and does it WELL. As such, Bunn offers a three-year warranty. Me likey.

It did take a pot or two of coffee to dial in the perfect flavor. Because it brews so quickly, my first pot of coffee, even though I used 10 heaping tablespoons of medium-grind whole bean coffee for a 10-cup brew, was relatively weak. I use a Kitchenaid burr coffee mill (another five-star review I should write) and I dialed my grind approximately one-tenth finer to compensate. My next pot, ten heaping tablespoons for ten cups, was slightly too strong, so on my third pot I reduced the amount of grounds. Perrrrrrrfect.

Every step up in machinery or technique will change the way your coffee tastes. It''s amazing what the difference is between the same beans, same batch, same grind, same amount, sent through my seven-year-old Krups drip machine as this Bunn. Similarly, it was a huge difference when I upgraded from my old Braun burr mill to the Kitchenaid coffee mill. If your first pot of coffee isn''t spot-on, I suggest that you adjust your mill settings or try upgrading your beans, ''cuz the problem does not reside with this pot.

54A Countertop Stainless Steel Water Filter Save 67% Off

54A Countertop Stainless Steel Water FilterAfter purchasing the one listed as "Chrome", I couldn''t get it to not leak, so I sent it back and started looking for another one. After looking and reading about so many, this one had only one review (5*) but, I decided to take a chance anyway. I''M SO GLAD I DID!! I received it in 2 days (FREE shipping PRIME member). It was extremely easy to install (even though there were no instructions). It''s Stainless Steel construction with a solid foundation. The filter looked very substantial and the "tightening wrench" made it easy to be sure the unit was closed. Besides looking terrific...the water tastes even better! We were using the Pur filter facet system for the last year. The 54A is faster and tastes better, by far. I''m out of adjectives to describe how great this product is. It sells at Sears for a couple of bucks less, but buying it through Amazon, meant I didn''t have to leave the house, spend money on gas or (this is BIG)stand in line to get it. I hope this has been helpful to anyone searching for this type of water filtration system. You won''t be disappointed.

Positives

1. Well built

2. Quality parts

Negatives

1. No manual!

I received this water filter and there were no instructions included. No documentation whatsoever. After hooking this up the water tasted no different than the faucet water. I used a water tester to test the water and it read 261 ppm with the filtered water which was worse than the regular tap water which read 252 ppm. This is a ripoff and not worth $80. It does not filter the water. I immediately returned this back to Amazon for a refund. Still looking for a quality water filter that actually filters the tap water. Test your filtered water people. Not happy.

Honeywell 50028044-001 Replacement Inline Filter for TrueSteam Humidifiers
  • In line filter for TrueSteam humidifiers
  • Replacement part for scale and sediment filtration
  • Comes with quick connect fittings

I replaced my existing Honeywell TruSteam in line Filter after 1 year with this new one. The installation was extremely simple and the old filter had filtered the scale and sediment from the water suppy for a whole year with only a 1/4 inch of sediment in the humidifier when it was cleaned. I highly recommend this filter.

Don''t pay a technician to change your inline water filter.

This filter installs easily and quickly. No tools are necessary. Just turn the water off where the humidifier''s water line tapped into your water pipe, then remove the tube endings from the old filter, insert them into the new, and turn the water back on. It may take you longer to read the directions that come with the filter than to install the filter, and the directions are themselves straightforward and simple.

Replace the filter each heating season to help prevent sediment buildup.

I ordered this to replace the filter for my Honeywell Steam Humidifier. It looks just like the OEM version did, and works fine.

When installing to replace an old version, push in on the hose and hold the little ring that it fits into down and then pull the hose back out. It will pop right out. Just make sure you turn the water off to it, and have a little bucket handy, there is a lot of water in the hose and filter that will come out.
