I replaced my Graco programmable humidifier with this model based on some word of mouth reviews. I will say this, the machine looks pretty sleek, a lot better than the big white Graco. Unfortunately, looks is all that this thing has going for it.

The humidity control is a wheel that only lets you set in 10 degree increments, and then only from 30% to 60%. There is no display showing what the current humidity is, so you don''t really know how well it is working. The permanent filter is the same as the disposable filter used by every other humidifier, only it is in a plastic case and can be washed. The tank opening is small, which makes filling from a gallon jug of distilled water (best way to preserve the filter) a bit challenging.

But all of that can be tolerated, except for the fact that the machine simply didn''t produce enough humidity. I let it run nearly continuously for a week and it never hit the 40% level that I had set to trigger a shut off. It didn''t use nearly as much water as I would have thought given how long it was in operation. Finally, after a week, I used a hygrometer to test the actual humidity in the room...26%. 26% after a week of running? Nothing appears to be mechanically wrong with the machine. The fan works, the filter in the proper place, etc. It just simply doesn''t have the output I would expect from a machine at this price.

It looks cool, but I will go back to the ugly Graco and a comfortable bedroom at between 40% and 50% humidity.

I have had this device for over a year and it has worked well. Cleaning the filter is not as easy as they say. I don''t see the device working much longer mainly because of filter buildup. Lime away does not even get this thing clean.

I bought two of these from Costco and have been extremely happy with them. I get shocked badly all winter, but these little jewels eliminated that problem. Also, the relatively smaller water tank makes them very user friendly for older, less agile people. I bought a larger one for a small lady friend of mine and she was having a terrible time carrying the larger water tank to the unit. I gave her one of these and it fit the bill perfectly. This is simple to use and reduces the electric bill because when air is more moist it feels warmer than it actually is. I have one in my bedroom that I run all night so that I don''t have those problematic dry sinus problems that accompany winter heat in the house. I also have one in the kitchen (the other end of the house from the bedroom), so that eliminates the shock factor in that end of the house. Great little product at an affordable price.

It''s too bad there is no replacement filter for it to buy. Bionaire says it''s permanent, cleanable filter but after 2 months of use there is lime buildup and practically impossible to clean the filter.

Without clean filter and no where to buy replacement filter, it''s simply useless now.

Although, go to a hrdwr. store and by a little tube of ''food-grade'' lubricant for the O-rings before reading the instructions and pulling out the old filter ;) I''ve replaced these filters six times and now head the recommendation to apply a little silicone so the o-rings don''t dry and the new filter twists on easier.

GE changes their products and forces its customers to buy an entire new system every few years; I really hate that. I have this filter set saved in my Amazon wish list so that I can go back to reorder. Just got my 2nd set. It took me about 2 minutes to remove the old filters and install the new ones. They work quite well.

I purchased this as a replacement to a dead Krups, which no longer sells or supports fryers. So I''m not new to fryers. Before my purchase I did quite a bit of research before I settled on this one. I needed a large fryer for things like fish and chicken.

I''ve had it about 3 weeks and put it through it''s paces. I made Fish & Chips, Corn Dogs, Chili Rellenos, Fried Chicken. Fried Oysters, Fried Zucchini, Fried Mushrooms, Potato Chips, Fried Cheese Sticks and even Fried Twinkies.

The only semi-down side is that I have to add more oil then Waring suggests. I added an extra 64 once bottle. It only raised the level about one inch. So plenty of room. After that is was great. I use peanut oil to fry. The unit heats up to 375 in about 15 minutes. It held the temperature very well. Everything I made came out great!I did not use the two small baskets, The only reason for those would be to fry two different things at the same time. I was able to use my dead fryer and some cheese cloths to filter the oil into.

The Fried Twinkies had a good fry but are really carnival novelty food. Not something I would make again...in case you were wondering. :)

Nicely constructed. Heats up very fast. I was torn on whether to buy a small, medium, or large fryer. This does take a lot of oil. If you want to keep fishy type of oil separate from other frying oils, it is kind of a hassle being so large. Or you could by one small and this large. The large basket is great for big portions. The temperature dropped only slightly when frying chicken. So far so good!

I''ve been using an old aluminum dutch oven on the stovetop for frying for years. I got tired of overheating, smoke, and grease spattering everywhere. I considered both the F250 and F280 models, and decided on the 280 after reading a few other reviews. I tried the F280 today, and was ecstatically pleased! It heated up in about 8 to 10 minutes as it was supposed to. I feel that you should add about 1 or two cups more oil above the max line as even a few pieces of food doesn''t get covered by the oil when filled to the max line. There''s plenty of room for that much more oil. The thermostatic control is pretty good and thermal recovery is quick. The on-board timer is really handy too. It is just a simple alert timer that you set in minutes, and it counts down and beeps at you when it hits zero. I just finished 15 pounds of fried chicken, and there were no problems, and all batches came out equally done. I''ve wanted a deep fryer for a long time, and this model really fits my requirements. The vented lid keeps the mess of frying under control really well. I only gave it 4 stars because the beep needs to be louder, and the printed instructions did not even mention the timer''s existence. It was stupid easy to figure out, but the manual should have mentioned it.

For the past 8-9 years I have been renting a RugDoctor carpet cleaner from Home Depot two to three times a year. Our carpets were brand new when we bought our house 20 years ago which was three kids and two dogs ago. I would love to rip and replace our carpets but not spending that kind of money right now.

My situation is unique in that I did not have to pay anything for my Hoover Quick & Light because our bank Visa had an awards program. The awards website just said Hoover Steam Vac and I saw several good reviews online. Once we actually received the unit I did a new search for reviews of the Quick & Light and was dissapointed that the majority were not good. I actually took it down to my local Hoover store to see if I could trade up for something better. No go.

So I figured I was stuck with another crappy device that would underperform and waste time. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I first used the Hoover. It did just as good as job as the RugDoctor. Matter of fact I think that the power brushes do a much better job than the RugDoctors I was renting. The good news is that it is light and takes a small amount of water to operate. Which is good when your pet gets sick or you just want to do one room over the weekend. The bad news is that it takes a small amount of water to operate which also means there is a lot of stopping, adding more clean water and dumping the dirty water.

I think it is a very good unit for someone that wants to able to clean up after a pet or just stay on top of one room at a time. It is light and easy enough to use that my parents (in their 80''s) could use it. All in all a good unit and I would say good value for the $129 price range.

I have had 2 Bissel carpet cleaners, and while they do an ok job of cleaning, I am very disappointed with the fact that the spray system on both of them died very early and I am forced to manually disperse the solution. I wanted to buy yet another carpet cleaner so that I wouldn''t have to do this anymore and was determined not to get another Bissell because of this.

So with all the hype about "steam cleaning" from other products that you see on TV, I decided to go with the Hoover "SteamVac". Sadly, I did not purchase it on Amazon, because I could have returned it, but instead I got it with credit card points, and can therefore not return it.

For starters, there is NO STEAM whatsoever from this unit. As far as I can tell, it doesn''t even have any kind of heating unit at all, relying instead upon the hot tap water that you supply. Now I don''t know if Steam is the magical power that TV suggests, but if you''re going to call your product the "SteamVac", it should use steam!!!

Next, this unit has some of the cheapest quality construction of any device I have ever seen that was worth more than 5 or 10 dollars. While I do prefer having two chambers, one for clean water and one for dirty water as opposed to Bissell''s "bladder chamber" design, that''s about the only positive feature this unit has. The "overflow protection" consists of a wide blue plastic cylinder that is supposed to "float" up and seal off the chamber whenever there is too much water in it. Unfortunately, it only takes a slight bump when the unit is empty to make it pop up due to the vacuum that it requires you to continuously shut the unit off, wait for the motor to stop, let it drop, then turn it back on. Now the handle release lock, instead of having some kind of smooth gear release mechanism like any other kind of vacuum or carpet cleaner, instead has this super cheap plastic simple "catch" that is mounted 6-7" off of the ground, that half the time when you release it causes the overflow cylinder to pop up, causing you to repeat the procedure.

The hose is very thin and narrow and doesn''t sit very well on the machine, and you can''t simply take it off and start using it, you have to remove a cover and manually plug it in to the dirty water basin, and you have to connect the solution line to the side of the unit via this dongle which just hangs there loose whenever it isn''t being used. There is not a single piece of this unit which does not seem to be extremely cheap and likely to break.

After you get past the lack of quality and you start to use the machine, it is terrible. I will say this for it, the solution dispenser works very well, but after you''ve got it down on the carpet, even when the overflow protector isn''t stopping your suction completely, it just doesn''t seem to ever pick up the water all of the way. I spent ½ hour cleaning a 3x3'' spot and left it to dry, and the next day it''s still wet, and after several days the carpet is noticeably darker there. I tried it again and the same result. I tried it again and then vacuumed with my Bissell and then it was fine.

I think this may be the first scathing review I have ever left for any product, but this unit is absolutely terrible, I will never look to Hoover ever again, and I advise you not to either!

I have dogs and they track but mostly I really needed to clean my carpet get it back to what it looked like before my old cleaner had broke down. Well this one doesnt clean at all. I could go over and over the same spot and it is still dirty. I am very disappointed. I did take a spray bottle of cleaner and spray the carpet first and for some reason that worked but dosent that defeat the purpose of a carpet cleaner, shouldnt the brushes be doing the same thing I use the same cleaning agents. Anyways I dont like the cleaner and if I could I would return it to Hoover with a big DISAPPROVAL.

I just got the Hoover Quick and light carpet cleaner a few weeks ago but right away put it too the test. The carpet near my front door gets a lot of traffic and it shows, after using this Hoover carpet cleaner I was pleased to see it did a decent job returning my carpet to how it once looked. The machine comes with a sample bottle of carpet cleaner so I used it. You load the upper tank with a cap of soap and then top it off with the hottest tap water you can get. The tank lifts out making it easy to fill just like the waste water tank, once full the sensor shuts the vacuum flow telling you it''s time to empty the waste water tank. Both tanks are on the small size so be ready to stop refill and go again. I was pleased finding the carpet was damp not wet after cleaning, most of the water returns to the waste tank speeding up drying time. One big plus to this machine is the handheld brush, you can clean a lot more than just carpet and it does a great job too! I think this is the smallest model made by Hoover making it perfect for apartments or smaller homes, if you just need to do spot cleaning such as cleaning up after pets this might be just what you need.

It is a decent carpet cleaner. Our carpet is about 5 years old now and we have a very rambunctious 4 year old daughter. We have owned this for about a year now. It does the job, getting rid of the stains left by the kid and the fat stinky 120 lb dog. It has an extra wand on it for cleaning in tight areas or say the couch the dog lays on after rolling around in his own feces. Hey, if the stain is gone and I don''t smell it, that is a good carpet cleaner to me.

I had read a review by Paul here who claimed that the product didn''t work. I assumed his review was hyperbole. Turns out Paul was right. It just plain doesn''t work.

We ran this humidifier in our baby''s nursery for 16 hours straight (refilling so the tank was never empty). In 16 hours, the humidity went from 33% to 34% !?!? It just plain doesn''t work.

Now, I should also state some obvious stuff. We used the product in what should have been an appropriate environment. The room is very small 9''x9'' and the door was closed to eliminate loss of humidity. Also, my experience can not be explained away as a single faulty unit. I had ordered two (another for the master bedroom), so we retested with a second model with identical results. Both produced a visible mist immediately above the unit, so they were ''working''.

This product has great features in theory. I was excited by the nano silver technology which in theory should make for a clean and low maintenance experience.

I returned this product and purchased a well known brand. While it didn''t have all the flashy features of this Germ Guardian, it just plain works. I installed it 10 minutes ago and the room humidity has climbed more than 5%.

Bottom line. This product doesn''t work. If you plan to purchase it despite these warnings, make sure you keep your receipt for the return.

This is a tiny humidifier! I bought it for my son as he suffers from bloody noses at night. We live in Arizona and it is very dry. We have the full size Germ Guardian on our side of the house and we like it but I thought the lights would bother the boys at night. So we ordered this. It puts out a small amount of steam and only lasts about 12 hours in our very dry house. But it seems to be enough for my boys. The unit does get warm and doesn''t turn itself off when empty. I thought it was a carbon block filter, but it turned out to be a carbon impregnated cellulose filter. I have water that is contaminated with a chemical and use carbon block filters to remove it so it is safe to drink. I use a Whole house Carbon Block filter as a primary filter but use this smaller filter under the kitchen sink to provide added protection. This filter will probably provide short term protection, so I decided to keep them and use them for about two weeks each and then toss them. For other applications this filter may be adequate, but not for mine. I know I could have sent them back, but needed one right away so decided to keep and use these, but have also ordered carbon block filters to use when these are used up. Please research what what filter you really need based on your own situation. I do recommend a CARBON BLOCK filter to remove any chemical contamination issues, but again do your research, and make sure you are getting what you really need. I do not fault the seller, but blame myself for not making sure for not making sure I got what I needed!

I too wanted to save some money. But, I guess in this case you get what you pay for! Never have had any trouble with my Maytag Wide-by-Side water filtration system before. Changed filter whenever the indicate light came on. First time I used this filter I had trouble immediately. As recommended I filled several glasses and discarded. Seemed fine. But, after about the 8th glass the water stream got smaller and smaller and by the end of the day nothing. We removed the filter, reinserted it and nothing! Tried another new filter same thing happened. Now I will head off to Home Depot to buy a $40 filter that hopefully will work unless this PIECE OF GARBAGE has damaged the system!

I got this kit primarily because my old water filter leaked. it was sleek in that it only had one chamber versus the three that are normally found with different filters.

One way I like to tell if my filter water is actually filtered is by taste and sight. Our water doesn''t taste bad to begin with but having a filter is good for peace of mind. As for sight a simple test ive used was taught to me by the Culligan man. if you freeze the water the ice cube should be clear. well i did this shortly after install and it wasnt too clear.

so that is why i question the quality of the filter. either way, if it doesnt taste bad and the water is generally filtered, I give it average marks.

We purchased this for the kitchen of our church. The city well that serves this area has some sulfur and iron, though it is biologically safe.The pipes are old and some days the kitchen is not used at all. We were buying drinking water and it was expensive and we would often run out. We put in this filter with a dedicated faucet and the water tastes much better. We only use if for drinking water, making tea or coffee, lemonade, etc. and cooking. We replaced the cartridge after 6 months, but the water still tasted fine.

I purchased a SS GE Profile refrig/freezer in 2002. The refrig was super quiet, except when the IM-4 icemaker cycled. The IM-4 could be heard from the next room. After having a new floor installed, the contractors must have damaged something in the rear of the icemaker (pump). I replaced with the new IM-6. After checking my connections and looking for puddles, I had to continue to look inside the freezer to see if it was working. The IM-6 is so quiet, I could not hear the cycling. The only sound that was heard was the ice dropping into the empty bucket. Finally a quiet ice maker for my quiet refrigerator! Good job GE.

I purchased the GE Icemaker IM-6 to install in my frig that had never been equiped with one. It seems the icemaker is packaged with instructions and extra parts so that it fits EVERY refrigerator GE ever made. It was not hard finding the simple two page instructions for my model. But being a guy, it was real hard to throw out all those extra parts not needed LOL.

The actual install was one of the simplest projects I''ve ever tackled. Was a little apprehensive when it took about 24hrs before it started producing cubes. But after that every hour on the hour... ice cubes drop.

My ice machine stopped working in our GE GSS25TSWCSS side by side refrigerator. Our fridge/freezer was only 4 years old, but that about the lifetime of an ice maker. The green light was blinking on the ice maker. Everything i read online suggested that if the water inlet tube was frozen, then to replace the water valve at the back of the fridge. If there was no ice in the inlet tube then it was the ice maker and just to replace the unit. GE sell them for $148.75 plus shipping. This product included the WR30X10093 ice maker part for $81.00. Part arrived promptly. Removed 1 screw eased out the old ice maker, disconnected the plug and re-installed the new ice maker. Switched on and it immediately started making ice. Awesome. I saved about $60 on the part and no labor or call out charge.

Easy to install and works great. Having a tech come out would have been almost $300 but I purchased for 20% of this cost and installed myself in about 10-15 minutes. After 3 months the filter starts to leak water from every seam (not at the gasket where the front screws off but the seams where it is put together). The manufacturer, Procter & Gamble, is evidently aware that this is a problem because when I called in last year (after owning it for 3 months) they replaced the unit as soon as I described the problem. After using the replacement for about 3 1/2 months, it started exhibiting the same problem and the leaking gets worse each month. So after spending money to get filtered water, you now need to wash the faucet mount to keep the water clean since the hole that the water comes out of no longer has the penny''s worth of plastic to keep it from running back along the housing. This one is in our office and I regret buying it. Buy the one that has the slider instead of the one with the fancy indicator light and you''ll avoid this problem.

About 6 months ago we discovered that the Pur counter top water filter that we have used for years was discontinued. We were very happy with it. So, we decided to purchase another Pur product. We purchased the Horizontal Faucet Filter. We ARE NOT happy with this one. To start with, it drips water down the back, it never tells us the filter needs changed, and it started leaking after about 3 months. About a month ago the water started tasting bad, so we thought we would change the filter (since it never tells us it needs changed), but the water continues to taste bad. The whole thing splatters and leaks like crazy. Now, my husband is an engineer and we are both college graduates...so we read and follow directions to the T on the package...but the water tastes horrible. We wish we had our old counter top filter back. But, since they don''t make that we will be changing products to a different brand. What a waste of money!!!!!!!!

My last Pur faucet mount water filter cracked and I replaced it with the same model. The sensor light didn''t function after 2 days of use. Will try Brita next time!

I initially purchased this set as a Christmas gift for a male attorney I work with who very much a tea person. He absolutely loves the entire concept from the flowering tea balls to the different medicinal benefits of each flower.

The teas are very flavorful, soothing, fun to watch and one tea ball last sometimes a couple days (we get at least three four good steeps out of one ball, more if the pot gets emptied quickly).

The teas can be purchased at Meijer for $11.99 for the same 12 ball canister that comes with the set (they''ve been on sale for $9.99). It took us close to three months of brewing this tea almost daily to finish one canister.

Tip: The lid to the pot broke, and while you can purchase the lid from the manufacture, the $4.00 lid plus the $8.00 shipping comes to almost half the cost of an entire set. I took a lid from a large Yankee candle jar, removed the plastic seal (the seal holds the scent of the candle), the lid fits perfectly and works equally as well as the original lid, possibly better as it''s heaver. (Any lid from a candle jar about that size will likely work).

The attorney and our entire office have enjoyed this tea and I too am looking forward to trying the teas iced!

The teapot is sturdier than I expected and has survived a lot of use, but I would never buy it again. Sure, clear glass is a nice medium if you want to use tea flowers like the ones that come in the set, but the glass infuser is a disaster. The tea is supposed to brew through four sets of slits in the bottom, which get clogged easily, are difficult to clean, and don''t allow enough water to flow through. The tiny slits make it hard to fill the teapot because the infuser can''t drain into the pot fast enough. To fill the teapot with tea in the infuser, I have to pour in water, wait as it slowly drains through into the pot out of the infuser, pour in more water, wait, pour in more water and wait, and then pour in the final bit of water. When I try to pour the tea, the lid and infuser fall out, so I have to hold them on or remove them. Tea leaves get wedged in the slits and have a hard time getting them back out when I wash it.

The one big upside is that it is very lightweight for a teapot this size. Plus, if you generally use tea flowers or bagged tea, this teapot will work just fine for you. It really is dishwasher safe even on the bottom rack. It will also survive rapid temperature changes, like dropping a bunch of ice into hot tea.
