Watts Premier 501026 Zero Waste Reverse Osmosis Retrofit Kit

Watts Premier 501026 Zero Waste Reverse Osmosis Retrofit Kit
  • Turn your existing RO in to a 100 percent efficient treatment system
  • Increase the production of your current RO to fill the tank faster
  • Conserves water
  • Certified to ensure high quality

I live in Japan.So I bought this with RO-PURE STAGE4(RO-4) for Fukushima''s accident.

At first It didn''t contain diagram for RO-4,only for old RO system.I must requested correct diagram by e-mail and had to wait 10 days for answer.

Next,I installed zero-waste but it decrease TDS about 40-60%.supplied water''s TDS was 77-125PPM and pure?water''s TDS was 30-55PPM(led alarm on RO faucet keep blue flashing(means OK),so,I know that We can''t know the membrane efficiency from led alarm).

WATTS''s mail said "Everything appears connected properly." and couldn''t identify the reason.

I requested advise for Japanese RO professional,he said zero-waste is wired system for riskiness''about drain error.Back pressure from hot water supply may brake water prresure balance at membrane. So I gave up zero waste and make drain as free running, then TDS decrease to 4PPM soon.

Finally,zero-waste work only as booster pump.and I doubt WATTS''s assessment for this system. They checked TDS?

Anyway You''d get booster pump instead of zero-waste.If You insist zero-waste,get TDS meter and check carefully for your health.

Once the system is installed it works well. The diagram that comes with the system does not apply to all Watts RO systems. Additional diagrams were not available online from Watts. I emailed their service department, told them what RO system I had, and they responded that the zero waste system I bought would not work with my Watts RO system.

Thankfully a phone call to the technical department resulted in a new diagram with some modifications and we were able to complete installation. The transformer that came with the system was faulty. But, with the proof of the purchase of a new transformer from Radio Shack, Amazon credited our account for $30 which was fair.

I have been using Premier RO systems for 12 years. Some work better than others. One of the systems I purchased was the Watts Zero Waste RO system. I purchased it when I discovered how much water my 5 stage RO system used. This system was a poor value as it was only three stage and the pump died after a year or so. Recently, my septic filled up due to marshy conditions caused by snow melt. So we disconnected our five stage system and had it drain into five gallon buckets. We were alarmed and amazed how much waste water it yielded. So we decided to try again with the zero waste, this time buying a retrofit for our dozen year old five stage system. The retrofit seems to be better quality than our original zero waste. Installation is a bit complex, but not hard. Water quality does not seem different after installation. The pump goes off when the tank fills. Overall, I am satisfied by this product. Hopefully it will last longer than the first one.

Not supposed to be working with WP4-V but I hooked it up anyway and it works! So I am giving it 5 stars since otherwise I was going to trash that WP4-V unit.

Vanish drop ins automatic toilet bowl cleaner

Vanish drop ins automatic toilet bowl cleaner, blue - 1.7 oz/pack 12 eaThis product lasts much longer than chlorox drop-ins.

I''ve found it to also to be slightly better than the cheaper 2000 flushes:

The blue will last for several weeks with several flushes per day. Compare to chlorex that seemed to only last a week. You will still have to clean your toilets with these once in a while, but they help increase the time between cleanings. I''ve also found that if you have a toilet that is flushed less than once a month the toilet can still develop mold.

These turned out to be "Scrubbing Bubbles" brand when I opened the discrete cardboard box. Not exactly what was advertised, but they''re still blue and get the job done. They do turn your toilet water very, very blue. I''ve found my guests'' questions are easily deflected by simply saying I forgot to flush, and I have a medical condition. The toilet has never been cleaner.

It is great because they are unavailable in my food store and we like them in the commode. Such a lovely blue, reminds me of the Cayman beach.

This is great when it actually works for about two weeks with only 5-7 flushes a day. It seems to dissolve incredibly quickly. I keep using it though because none of the other tabs I''ve used actually keeps the water blue and deodorizes as stated.

We have hard well water full of various minerals that turn our toilets green and leave behind stains that only scrubbing with pumice removes. Keeping these tablets in them helps tremendously.

Body Glove WI-BG3000R Water Filtration Cartridge Save 21% Off

Body Glove WI-BG3000R Water Filtration Cartridge
  • 0.50 GPM flow rate
  • Replace every 350 gallons or 1-year
  • Provides filtration protection against off-taste and odor
  • Reduces lead, VOCs, TTHMs, and MTBE
  • Features a recyclable cartridge and an electronic filter change timer

I bought this to replace my Everpure H-300 filter. The Body Glove filter is almost double the cost of the Everpure. So why waste your money? I bought it for two reasons. First, it is almost three inches shorter than the Everpure. It fits under my sink. The Everpure barely fit. Clearance was so tight I had to use a screwdriver to detach the valve from the wall every time I replaced it. The last time I removed it the copper pipes bent and flooded the area under the sink. I had to call the plumber. That cost much more than one of these Body Glove filters. The second reason is water flow. The Everpure is slow. It takes a long time to fill a glass of water or a coffee pot. Do you have one? Have you ever been bored watching it fill the coffee pot, only to leave and come back to the sound of overflowing water? The Body Glove is fast and fills a glass in seconds. If you have guests for dinner and need to fill glasses and a water pitcher, you''ll appreciate it. I appreciate it just for filling a single glass--big difference, less frustration.

If clearance and water flow are not issues, then save money and buy the Everpure. Otherwise the Body Glove is a great filter.

Crane Ee-8064 Crane Germ Defense Humidifier Save 20% Off

Crane Ee-8064 Crane Germ Defense Humidifier - Digital, WhiteThis is my 6th small humidifier. This time I was determined to find an ultrasonic model that featured an automatic shutoff, a rotating mist outlet & digital controls. While they are such practical features, you''d be surprised to learn how hard that combo is to find! I came across this one from Crane a big name in plumbing fixtures. As I hadn''t heard of them making humidifiers before, I was leery. You know how it can backfire when you buy something that isn''t a mainstream name or model? That won''t be the case with this machine.

I am totally & pleasantly surprised. It arrived on time, well-packed & was intuitive to get started. It''s SO quiet! The reason that I chose this one over a quite comparable Holmes or Honeywell is because it includes an ionizer a feature that one would normally need to purchase a separate air purifier to have. It also offers BOTH cool & warm mist. While I don''t expect to use the warm mist (cats,) it''s good to know that it''s there. This is by far the QUIETEST humidifier of the six that I have had!

Unless you''re independently wealthy & can afford to run it with distilled water, you will need the optional demineralization filter to avoid the white powder deposit left by hard water. So just go ahead & buy one.

This machine is a real winner in every way. And oh, btw, did I mention that is QUIET????????

This is my third small humidifier and my first ultrasonic one. The other two were evaporation style once using disposable filters and the other using a permanent filter which water was circulated over. The second is in the trash bin, didn''t last two years. The first is a Vornado and works ok but is loud and requires replacing the filters every year.

Now onto the Crane. Based on the great reviews I read about the Crane humidifiers, I was looking for the drop shape one, but could not find it anywhere locally. My local Frys had this one so I picked it up. It humidifies really well, there are three settings, the highest pumps a lot of moisture in the air. So much so that it will dampen the carpet and other objects around if the fan in the room is not on. I usually keep it on low or the second setting and keep the ceiling fan on low. I also like the adjustable nozzle on the top. It has two rotating sections that can be aimed independently, so you can aim it in two directions. The warm mist feature is not necessary steam, it warms the water prior to misting it. You can feel the warmth a few inches over the nozzle, but it''s cool after that. I usually use the warm feature and the ionizer all the time.

What I don''t care much for is the tank design. It must be flipped over to fill and there is no handle or any easy way to old it while flipped. Also, the handle on the top is not centered, so when holding the full tank it tilts forward a bit. When setting back in the unit, you need to level the tank before it will slide completely in. it''s not the biggest deal, just a minor annoyance.

I''m also not a big fan of the buttons on the front. They are completely flat and sense the heat from your finger. If your hands are cold or damp from just handling the tank, sometimes the buttons don''t register a press. Since they are completely flat, I can''t find the buttons by feel while trying to make adjustments in the dark. The display is also way too bright at night, I have a piece of index card taped up to cover it.

Overall I like the humidifier and does a wonderful job of humidifying, but the design could be improved a bit.

This Crane humidifier with touch controls works pretty well.

The Pros are:

Quite good humidity output that allows you to control how fast you change the humidity in your room. Also has timer so you can have it shut off after several hours, which is good if you don''t want it running all day or night.

The humidity level can be changed from 40% up to 60%. Mine seems pretty accurate, as I compared against a digital humidistat about 10 feet away and they typically run within 5% after you allow a couple of hours (I''m using it in a 500 sq ft. room).

The antimicrobial plastic polymer does seem to slow down the amount of bacteria that grows, so if the machine is cleaned once/week, it should be fine. It''s easy to clean

We fill it with water that was filtered by a good under the counter water filter, so not much white powder, even on the TV.

The Cons are:

Remembering to remove the nozzle prior to removing the tank to fill it. It usually goes flying somewhere on the floor.

It''s pretty quiet, but mine has an annoying high pitch hum from the ultrasonic transducer. It''s OK if you have the TV on or some other sound. I think to sleep with, it may not work for you. I can''t sleep with it on.

The tank is kind of a pain to fill since the handle is designed pretty poorly and is not centered so you will need two hands to handle it for sure.

As for reliability, ours is only about 2 months old, so far so good.

I hope this helps !

This entire unit seems very fragile, and this fact is probably demonstrated best by the manufacturer''s repeated instructions in the manual of "DO NOT carry Water Tank by handle when it is filled with water." Why? Presumably because the handle is so weak and fragile that it will break off. Yes, it''s THAT flimsy.

The primary reason, though, why this unit is essentially unusable is that the humidity sensor on this one I''ve received is faulty. When I plugged it in, it stated that the "present" room humidity is "40%," and once during a 5-hour run, it registered "41%." However, at the time I started it running, my HygroSet Digital Hygrometer w/ Calibrating Kit, recently calibrated, read that the actual, in-room relative humidity was 34%. Hygrometers on humidifiers are notoriously inaccurate, so I simply assumed that this one on the Crane Ee-8064 read slightly high. I was wrong....

After 5 hours of running at the highest setting, the tank was nearly emptied, and my personal hygrometer read that the RH had risen to 53%. However, the readout on the humidifier itself still read 40%. Completely dysfunctional.

If you want a unit to run wide-open in a room to get it humidified quickly, this might be a fair choice, but, based on this experience, I don''t trust this unit''s sensor. It''s not one I''d trust to leave on overnight or to let run if I were to leave the room, for it can''t possibly self-regulate if the sensor can''t detect a 19-point change in relative humidity. I''d pass on this one.

I ordered this Humidifier for my daughters bedroom but will be returning it. First I had to send it back to Crane to get the chiming sound mechanism removed because every time we used our tv remote (not even in the same room) it would make the unit chime! lol NOT good for a sleeping 10 month old! But that was fixable and had to ship it back and received back 2 weeks later. Then I set it all up in her room again and went in the room in the middle of the night when she woke up and omg... the smell was HORRIBLE!!! I''ve never experienced this with any warm mist humidifier before... I contacted Crane and they said that was normal for a new unit... all I needed to do was clean out the base and water tank with a vinegar solution and that should do the trick. I did that... 3 times and still no luck. I called them back and they advised that was just how it was for the warm mist setting.. and that if I would just run it on the cool mist I would not experience the smell. I''m sorry but I do not want to use the cool mist setting... I bought this because of the warm mist option and I expect there not to be a smell. She told me that it was because I was using in a small room with door shut and I advised her I was actually running it in our living room which is pretty large (we live in a 1200 sq ft apt) and the smell was still there. I ran it for a week in our living room hoping the smell would go away and no! My fiancée and everyone who comes over can not stand the smell... I would not recommend this product. I will be returning and ordering an Aeroswiss (this is what we use for our bedroom and is amazing!). Such a hassle.

Metro Vacuum HRS83BA 4.0-Horsepower Garage Wall Mount High Capacity Vacuum/Blower Save 31% Off

Metro Vacuum HRS83BA 4.0-Horsepower Garage Wall Mount High Capacity Vacuum/Blower
  • All steel construction; Made in USA
  • Jumbo car vac with 4.0 peak HP, twin-fan, industrial quality motor, produces 95-Inch of water lift, 120-Volt, 11.25 amps, 1,350-Watt
  • 24-Feet flexible hose (four 6-Feet sections)
  • High capacity, central vacuum system for the entire garage
  • Includes wall mount bracket, upholstery tool, crevice tool, dust brush, powerizer air maximizer, Magic-Air inflator nozzle, 4-Piece detailing tool kit, swivel wall and floor brush and two 20-Inch extensions

The vacuum cleaner arrived with no real instructions, just a sheet of paper with a drawing showing the parts, which was confusing. My model didn''t have some of the parts shown on the drawing, and it had others that weren''t there. Have so far used the vacuum for cleaning the car and it''s very good. Have yet to try the leaf blowing option. The unit itself wheels around like a small canon. Hoses have good suction, even when fully extended. I would recommend it, but wish it came with proper instructions for both vacuuming and blowing.

I got tired of lugging the house vacuum cleaner into the garage to use, and then struggling with the short hose, etc. Bought one of these, with enough extension hoses to reach 24 ft. When wall mounted in the garage, the vacuum cleaner works well; 24 ft of hose doesn''t reduce performance much at all. Suction is very strong. I''m pretty happy about being able to vacuum the two cars in the garage without ever having to move the small vacuum itself.

Lately, I''ve taken to using it around the house since it is so much more portable than the house vacuum cleaner! I should have bought one much earlier!

This product performed exactly as expected. The long hose is a series of shorter hoses that connect so you can adjust to the proper length. Suction/blowing power is sufficient for inside car cleaning and outside water blowing after wash. The canister has a set of wheels for easy movement, you don''t need the wall mount. I have not tried it for leaf blowing yet as the main purpose was for car maintenance. There is an assortment of nozzles that contribute to the product''s utility. Electrical cord is sufficiently long for most tasks.

If you own a Dyson you know what having a great vacuum is like. Well this is not a Dyson. I mean it works really well--just not a Dyson.

Now on to the blower. I was hoping I could dry my vehicles with this. You can if you have about an hour or so. You have to be like an inch away from the water to really blow any water off. It works decent around the grill and trim work but not so hot for blowing the water off your paint. Overall it is pretty nice to have in my garage just a little pricey and blower function is limited to blowing water off of small areas.

Pro Products HP41N Neutra Sul Professional Grade Oxidizer

Pro Products HP41N Neutra Sul Professional Grade OxidizerI have highly mineralized sulfur smelling water. Last year I switched from bleach to Neutra Sul. I am very pleased with the results.

The Neutra Sul is a little more expensive, but the results are much more consistent than with bleach. With the bleach I would sometimes get the sulfur odor breaking through, and would have to increase the concentration to a point where I could smell the chlorine. Breakthough odor doesn''t happen with the Neutra Sul and there''s no nasty chlorine smell or residue. It''s easy enough to monitor for excess peroxide in the water by looking for effervescence.

Love the Crown Berkey. We were going to purchase the Big Berkey, never knew it came in this size. Being from Texas, bigger is better. We are only using 3 of the 4 elements and p0lan on buying some additional back up elements from this vendor. The price was right, delivered quickly, all good. We had heard that the spigots on Berkeys are sometimes problematic, we also ordered two back up spigots, also delivered quickly (seperately). We had now trouble assembling, directions we ok. We use it at home. We had some initial slow leak from the spigot, but I just went in a finger tightened it down a little further and no more issue. Good product, quality vendor. Would recommend.

I bought this product after a trial run with the berkey go (1 quart). Have tried (and previously owned/used) Brita, Pur, and ZeroWater. The Brita was ok, but left water occasionally tasting like plastic. The Zerowater always tastes like plastic and is much more expensive and not readily available. The Pur I used for years, but in the last 3 years the filters take forever to drain, though the water tastes good. I use a LOT of water. My town has issued lead warnings, so I wanted lead removal, great taste, and quantity--in that order. the Berkey Go proved to me that the berkey black filters could take stagnant tasting (dirt tasting) municiple water and transform it into natrual spring water tasting water. I went from choking down a single glass of water at work (my testing faucet) to drinking 1 to 2 quarts of water a day! JUST water! It is almost sparkling sweet after going through the filter! That was a eye opener. I had never been a big water drinker. always had to have tea, or something flavored, to mask to subtle favors infused in the municiple water supply. Having enjoyed the water from the berkey element for a couple of months, I finally decided on the size for my home. Berkey comes in several sizes,so the size decision was the main quandry. Being such a big tea drinker, I finally decided to buy the Crown for the volume it supplies. I have indeed used it to make tea, (multiple gallons on the same day, along with gatorade, and crystal orange drink) and still am drinking water straight from the Crown''s tap because the sweet spring taste just calls to me. The reservoir holds 8 gallons and filters way faster than the Pur and even the brita, the Zerowater would be close in time. But the taste knocks them ALL out of, well, the water. ;} I am now putting a gallon of filtered water in the fridge so that I have an Ice Cold option, but I still find myself going to the Crown''s tap after working outside in the heat. I would recommend Berkey with black elements to everyone!

I bought this filter system mostly because of the high fluoride content in my area and also because I got tired of buying bottled water all the time. I went ahead and purchased 4 fluoride filters and attached them to the Berkey black filters. As far as taste goes, the water coming out of the berkey taste somewhat better but not a whole lot. It kinda still tastes like tap water. At least I know the most of the fluoride is filtered out plus whatever else is in the water. The only problem I''ve had so far is the spigot. About a month after I got it the spigot started to get stuck in the open position. You had to push down on it to get it to stop. I called the supplier and was told I will be getting another one soon. I also went ahead and bought a wooden stand for it because it didn''t look good sitting on the counter. And lastly, I liked the fact that in a crisis you can use almost any kind of water in the berkey (well water, rain, river, streams, ponds and lake water) and get clean & safe water to come out. I also found a site where lab testing was done on the berkey system:

I''m still waiting on the new spigot but I got the old one to work by sanding the little vertical black plunger inside the spigot. It was too thick and was sticking when sliding through the top cap. Anyway, it works now with no problems, but I would still like the new one just in case.

Dustless Technologies 16003 16 Gallon Dustless Wet Dry Vacuum with 12-Foot-by-1-1/2-Inch Hose
  • No need to change the filters when switching from a dry job to a wet job.
  • Will never blow dust.
  • Ideal on Concrete dust and drywall dust
  • Lasts 6 times longer that the competition
  • Filters are washable

I bought this unit to keep drywall dust in my basement I am finishing to a minimum, using the floor attachment to clean all the dust that was on the floor from before I got the unit, and also to attach to a Porter Cable sander. Not a bit of dust escaped the vacuum, and it worked perfectly with the Porter, allowing almost no dust at all to escape during the sanding of the walls and ceiling of an additional 1300 square feet I am finishing in my house. The suction could be a little bit better if you are wanting to use this also as a general shop vac, but for picking up small particles, and as long as you install the "optional" pre filter bag, this works as advertised.

UPDATE 8/1/12

Used the vac for another major project drywalling a new room. Still works like the day I bought it. I have gone through quite a few of the pre filter bags and they never clog or lose suction. When I empty them they typically have 30 lbs or so of drywall dust and other particles. I love this thing.

After a crew jackhammered, broke out, & replaced 31'' of my solid concrete basement wall, I had fine masonry dust on every single surface in my house. I knew I needed some type of ash vac to handle this job or the fine dust would end up going right through the filter of a typical shop vac. I was initially hesitant to spend the money but eventually decided on this vacuum. In the end it was a great decision.

The vacuum worked perfectly during 2 five hour marathon sessions of continuous operation. No loss of suction at any point and no dust! I purchased and used an optional hepa filter bag as extra insurance though I''m not sure it was necessary...at the very least it will make emptying the vac easier. The hose is high quality...much nicer than my old cheap craftsman vac hose...and the attachments are nice too. Also, I am very sensitive when it comes to my hearing. At some points I would not wear ear protection and I could still handle it so I''m pleased with the volume as well.

Yesterday I knocked out a plaster wall and replaced with drywall. I vacuumed up chunks of both materials and this thing kept going. I used to vacuum up drywall dust and get it right back through my old vac. Now that I''ve spent the money, I keep wondering why on earth anyone would buy a standard shop vac when this is available.

Note: I bought a used vac from Amazon that was described as "like new". I assumed it was going to be an unused return. When I opened the box and wood chips fell out I knew otherwise. There were scratches and marks on several of the tools as well. It worked fine so I dealt with it. A couple days later I realized the tool holder was not in the box. To amazon''s credit they credited me back the cost of the holder and I ordered it directly from the company myself. In the end I was happy with the 33% savings.

Bottom line: A great Vacuum cleaner, a little pricey but buying used may be ok.
