2 Refill Water Filters for GE Coffee Makers

2 Refill Water Filters for GE Coffee MakersIf you have used these filters before then you know just how much hard water build-up can accumulate on them. If you haven''t used them before, then just take my word, you really don''t want all that mineral deposit in your coffee. Using these filters really does make my coffee taste so much better, and the price is very reasonable for the length of time I can continue to use these filters. I seriously recommend using these filters.

We ordered these and the charcoal was leaking out. I contacted GE to see if they could still be used, and they said "Absolutely not." The pod itself was broken and I would get charcoal in my coffee. (Yum?)

Price is a little high, shipping was fast just insufficient packaging. Refund was quick as well.

I would have liked for them to offer us a replacement as I would have given them a second try. Who knows maybe my parcel guy went all Ace Ventura on his packages that day? But it was never offered.

Bottom Line: If you get these, and there is black dust all over it DO NOT USE. Return it for full refund.

Clorox ReadyErase Erasing All Purpose Brush Save 17% Off

Clorox ReadyErase Erasing All Purpose BrushI got this brush to use it to clean my sneakers. Its not designed for doing that I am aware. I just wanted to note the brush part works just fine but the sponge part did not make it through its first use. So beware you will be buying a lot of replacements for that part if your going to use the sponge quite a bit. I am sure the brush works well for cleaning of any kind but not the sponge.

The Cameo stainless cleaner was easy to use and did a great job removing "tarnish" from my flatware. We have very hard water and the stains on my knives were just awful. I was unable to find this product or anything similar locally and was very pleased with this product.

Cameo has no competition in the Stainless Cleaning department. We use this product to keep our stainless kitchen sink looking like brand new. Procedurally we use 400 600 grit wet or dry sandpaper to remove scratches, sanding in the same direction as the factory sander. After rinsing we apply the Cameo cleaner to the wet sink and polish. Our sink is 10 years old and looks like it was installed last month.

Dew Cap Replacement (2pk)

Dew Cap ReplacementI bought these, tested them on 5 gallon jugs and found they are not water tight. Though not advertised as water tight, I assumed so since they would typically be used on drinking water containers (i.e., "emergency water stash"). Since they are not water tight, then they aren''t air tight and should not be used for long term potable water storage without the use of disinfectants (i.e., chlorine).

I purchased these so I could refill bottles that come with the spill-proof lids. Once empty, I removed the spill-proof lid, and snapped these on. Now I can get self-serve refills instead of paying for the much more expensive bottle exchange program. The lids fit very snugly for me and will pay for themselves the first trip to the store.

I ordered 5 of these items (there are two caps per unit), and I''m very pleased. They fit perfectly snug on standard 3/5 gallon bottles (like the ones I''d get from the supermarket or water delivery). They are easy to remove, and can be reused over and over again (I use it to fill up water bottles from a home filter).

This is a great way to store a small emergency stash of water for example. All in all, I highly recommend these caps, and they are a good deal (with very reasonable shipping costs).

These caps fit very well, and I even tried to get the carboy to leak. This is a simple purchase, around $5, but I also received a hand written letter from the owner thanking me for my purchase. If I should ever need anything this company sells I won''t shop further. To the owners, "You are very welcome". Shipping was quick and no complaints.

Want Dew Cap Replacement (2pk) Discount?

If you''ve lost a cap (as I did) for a five gallon water jug, these work fine. They aren''t anything special and if your full jug happens to tip over on the way home, it is likely that they will pop off. This has only happened to me once, and they are fine most of the time, but 5gal of water isn''t the most fun to clean from the back of a car. Just secure them or drive super careful so they don''t fall over and they work fine for the price.

L.B. Evans Darren

L.B. Evans Darren Men''s SlippersI picked these out and just got them out of the box. The memory foam insoles are VERY comfortable. It feels strange at first walking on them, but after that initial step, my foot fell in love. These are pretty great. I can wear them inside or outside and still feel like I''m walking on a pillow. I also like that they don''t have a furry inside so I can wear them in any season.

My one complaint is that they don''t run in half sizes. I''m a 9 in normal shoes and these feel kind of loose, so i would have gotten a half size smaller, but an 8 is definitely too small. It''s ok though. This is designed as a slipper first and a shoe second, but I''m going to wear it as both anyway.

I would like to point out that I am a 26 year old male, I''m not in a nursing home, and I don''t mind wearing these in public. My fiancee even agrees that these are actually pretty stylish and comparable to some more popular name brand moccasins out there.

Slippers looked good and fit well. My only problem was a tag attacked to the inside of the slipper between the arch and the heel. The tag constantly rubbed the bottom of my foot making the slipper uncomfortable to wear. The tag was so securely attached that it was extremely difficult to remove. I did finally remove the tag which left a small tare in the liner.

These slippers were a gift for my boyfriend, who absolutely loves them. The hard sole allows him to wear them outside, and the memory foam makes them very comfortable.

DeLonghi DCF2210TTC 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Drip Coffee Maker Save 29% Off

DeLonghi DCF2210TTC 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, BlackI replaced our old basic coffee machine because after 10 years, the carafe began to leak when you pour. Unfortunately, the new one leaks more! Coffee brews slowly (I like stronger coffee so I use the aroma button) and it could be hotter but really no complaints with the coffee once you get some in your cup. I have tried aligning the arrows, opening the lid a little more, opening a little less. but the carafe just leaks when you pour into your coffee cup unless you completely remove the lid. Pass on this one unless you have alot of patience and don''t mind wiping the counter after you pour.

I read a lot of reviews on this coffee maker before purchasing. Many of them complain about a skimpy pour that when tilted more causes a spill. Here is the trick. Line up the arrow with the spillway. Grasp the lid and pull up. This opens a larger space to pour out of and voila a near perfect pour.

I do like this thermal coffee maker for the price. My last one was a Cuisinart, however, I could not afford that model this time around. I always use the Aroma setting. It takes a bit longer but makes a better cup. The thermal carafe does not keep the coffee hot long enough in my opinion. I like to pour a cup throughout the morning and by the last cup I have warm coffee not hot. All-in-all the brew is good for the price.

Buy DeLonghi DCF2210TTC 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Drip Coffee Maker Now

I have had this Coffee maker for about a month now and really like the way it performs. The coffee brews slowly with the aroma button on and it comes out strong (be sure to set the timer about 20 mins before you get up and you will be fine.) It fits well under my counter and I do not have to slide it out to fill each time which is a nice feature. This would be a five star coffee maker if it did not take so long to fill your cup. With the arrows aligned on the carafe it just pours out slowly. If you try to rush it by tipping the carafe too much it dribbles all over the counter. The only thing you can do is to take the lid off and pour. The thermal carafe does keep the coffee hot 2-3 hours after brewing and warm most of the day. Overall I like this coffee maker and if it would only pour out faster it would be perfect.

Two major flaws with this coffee maker;

1. Screw top only allows coffee to trickle out. You must remove top entirely in order to pour coffee like a normal coffee maker. Didn''t the designers ever test this thing??

2. Stainless steel thermos does not keep coffee hot for very long. Metal radiates heat very well!! (Duh!) My old Braun coffee maker, with a glass thermos, would keep coffee hot for a couple of hours, just like a glass thermos bottle.

Want DeLonghi DCF2210TTC 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Drip Coffee Maker Discount?

I bought this coffee maker prior to any written reviews because I was replacing a DeLonghi DCM485, which was absolutely great, thinking this would be an appropriate replacement. The new unit makes ''reasonably'' good coffee. I played with the settings, but still cannot replicate the coffee from the DCM485 model. The coffee is still decent, but unfortunately, the carafe is completely useless. You cannot pour from the carafe, with the top on, without spilling and taking a painfully long time. As another reviewer asked, did they ever test this? I''m a DeLonghi fan, but after just one month, I''m looking for a replacement and this unit will be donated to charity for someone with more patience and a lot of paper towels.

Farberware Percolators Save 31% Off

Farberware FCP412 12-Cup Percolator, Stainless SteelI''ve happilly enjoyed Farberware''s larger 20-cup electric percolator that is still brewing some wonderful coffee after 10 years. All I had to replace was the electric cord, which petered out after 3 years.

I''ve had this model for a few months and think that it will also last a long, long time (don''t know about the cord, though). This machine looks terrifically retro, is easy to clean and keeps the coffee consistenly hot for hours. After tasting coffee here, you won''t go back to your old drip machine.

My advice to you is:

1. Don''t overfill the basket with grinds, because it''s very easy to make a STRONG cup of coffee with this. We like strong coffee, so this is a good thing.

2. Clean it w/soap & water as soon as you are finished with it to protect the pot. I also clean it out with Dip-It every 6 weeks or so to remove the coffee stains from the inside and make it shiny and new-looking.

3. At most supermarkts you can buy little paper disc filters that sit in the bottom of the jar and keep the smaller grinds from falling into the water. It also filters out alleged carcinogens that are not removed by traditional percolators or coffee presses.

I would actually give this 4.5 stars, because sadly, these newer models are now made in China rather than the Farberware factory in the Bronx.

had one for over ten years, loved it. now they''re made in china and i''ve had to buy 2 in the last year. i''m an aircraft mechanic and the thermostat has failed. it''s a 5 dollar part and farberware refuses to sell the part or even identify the part number for it. if the coffemaker is within 18 months of the datecode on the bottom they''ll replace it. what a waste of time and effort!! if i had the part i could fix it in ten minutes. farberwares'' customer service reps on the phone are the worst. you can get the thermostat for the larger models probably because of the higher cost. if this were an aircraft, there would be an emergency bulletin sent out to replace the part with one that is more reliable. farberware has really dropped the ball on quality and service. if this were one of my products i would be embarrassed to sell it. i would recall the entire lot until it was fixed. if you google fcp412 you''ll find dozens of complaints.

For the coffee traditionalist AND for those who long for the taste and smell of home!

This little perc has been a presence in our family for thirty or forty years. After I left home several decades ago, I evolved into a coffee press/Peet''s fanatic myself, but when I brought my parents to live with me, the little Farberware Perc came with them, and I quickly reverted back to that fresh perked taste and smell. The coffee makes up fast and goes fast, so you never have that old perked coffee smell in your house or that syrupy brown gunk to deal with, and these chubby little Farberware droids last forever. Fortunately my folks decided they liked Maxwell House Colombian better than the Master Blend, and we brew several pots of this delicious liquid a day.

Warning: do not compare this coffee experience to your Peet''s or Zabar''s cafe presse instead think of diners and grandma''s house!

Want Farberware Percolators Discount?

This is a wonderful little perk. I''ve had it for almost a month and used it every day, sometimes twice a day.

Speed of coffee prep: A+ (doesn''t really take longer than a drip machine)

Speed of perking: A+

Temperature and Temperature maintenance: A+

Ease of cleaning: A+

(Day-to-day cleaning: rinses out easily with very little elbow grease, and you should also buy some percolator cleaner you can find it at most grocery stores hidden amongst the dishwasher stuff. You use this stuff about once a week or approx. every 5-10 uses to clean any stains or grounds buildup. I use about a TBS. of powder and one perk cycle, rinse powder residue, and voila, it''s perfectly clean cleans the "slots" without scrubbing)

Design: B+

(the manufacturer''s label piece on the front started coming off immediately, but since this has absolutely nothing to do with the perk''s function, I''m too lazy to return it).

If you have never used a perk before, or have used a different kind, you may need to experiment a bit with how finely or coarsely you grind your beans, and your preferred ratio of water to coffee beans. But when you find that right balance to suit your taste buds, well, you''ll never want to go back to a drip coffee maker!

Note #1: This is a 2-4 cup perk. This means 2-4 SMALL cups of coffee. If you''re like me, your coffee cup is more like a 12-16 oz. cup. I fill with water to the 3 or 4 cup (max) line, and I only get about 1 1/2 cups of coffee out of this. I think the 4-cup max means 4 6-oz or 8-oz cups of java. So if you want more than 2 decent-sized cups of joe without having to make another pot, I''d suggest buying the larger version of this perk. This size is perfect for a limited coffee drinker, or someone who''s single. It''s small (and kind of cute).

Note #2: I do wish they''d start making these with an auto shut off option. Some folks don''t want an auto shut off, but some of us would. The perk does lower the temperature to a keep-hot setting, but if you leave this baby plugged in all day, you may arrive home to the smell of burnt coffee. Depending on how much coffee is left in it, the coffee will eventually reduce/evaporate even on the keep-hot setting. I made this mistake once, and so I''ve learned to always unplug the percolator after I pour my cuppa joe.

March 2011 UPDATE

Nearly 4 years later, this little baby still works great. I''ve washed daily with soap and water and maintained it with Dip-It cleaner every 2 weeks or so, and it''s still in great shape and making great coffee.

Super Iron Out IO65N Rust Stain Remover

Super Iron Out IO65N Rust Stain RemoverOur water here in Broaddus, Texas is full of iron and calcium, so I was thrilled when I found Iron Out online. I use it to remove iron stains from my white towels and tops and, also, to keep the stains out of my toilets. It is absolutely effortless to use and works great.

I had previously used Iron Out purchased from Home Depot, but HD stopped selling it, so I tried every other product and method suggested on the internet to clean the white toilet bowls, but to no avail. The most distasteful method was emptying the toilet bowl and scrubbing the cleanser Zap by hand. I had not realized how effectively Iron Out had removed the iron stains compared to other products. I was so pleased to find Iron Out was available through Amazon. An overnight soak with Iron Out followed by a quick scrub removed all the iron buildup from the previous 4 months.

A friend told me about Iron Out when I was complaining about the red clay dirt ground into my sons'' baseball pants. I''d tried Spray & Wash and all the other sprays and sticks with mixed results. I found Iron Out at Walmart and I''m so glad I tried it.

We have a little iron in our well water, which leaves a reddish ring in the toilet bowl. Iron Out removed all of it with an overnight soak. I added some to the laundry when I was washing baseball pants, and every hint of grass stains, ground in dirt and glove oil was completely removed. This product has saved me untold hours of time rubbing and soaking other products into the stains.

I''d like to caution you to only use Iron Out on bleach-safe clothing. It will ruin anything dark colored!

I''ve been using this for a long time. Aside from doing a great job on clothes that have rust stains, this does a great job on toilets and sinks, calcium deposits, cleaning glass and crystal. My only advice is to use rubber gloves when handling because you know anything that works great on stains is going to be rough on skin.

McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy-Duty Steam Cleaner Save 21% Off

McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy-Duty Steam CleanerAfter some research and contemplation, I bought this unit to clean and disinfect bathrooms and other household stuff. By in large, most of the observations from the reviews here have been consistent with what I''ve seen.

PROS:

1. Steam lasts a very long time. The manual says it can hold up to 48oz of water from which to generate 2 hrs of steam. This appears to be right if you''re holding the nozzle open constantly. In reality, its longer because you have to steam-wipe-steam-wipe repeatedly, letting the machine rest during "wipes". I can get a good 3 hrs of cleaning done on one full tank of water. Also keeping you from holding open the nozzle is that you have to give it time to "recharge" since it appears that it does not generate steam as fast as you use it.

2. It works on what it claims: most "organic" build-ups like soap scum, toothpaste, dirt, etc. Cleans darkened grout nicely. Doesn''t damage the finish on fixtures. I was expecting a little too much on the calcium deposits from hard water... steam just wasn''t effective.

3. Nice supply of attachments (brushes) although its unclear what types of surfaces these brushes can be safely used on. In particular, I refer to the smaller round brushes. For example, my guess is that the brass brushes are not meant for highly polished finishes.

4. Good enough to clean hard to reach crevices like sliding door tracks (shower doors or patio doors), faucet details, etc.

5. Works well on car wheels. Brake dust is very fine and a pain to clean by hand. Not to mention that the chemicals are often not meant to touch the brake disc surface (I have yet to figure out how splashing water from a hose can be directed only to the wheel and not the brakes within).

6. Steam is the only option for cleaning chemically-prohibited surfaces (I never knew chemical cleaners were not recommended in microwaves!).

CONS:

1. Its loud! Not the machine, but the steam as it comes out of the nozzle. I strongly recommend hearing protection while you use it when indoors. My ears were ringing for about an hour after my first session.

2. Steaming takes time. If you''re not opposed to using chemicals, often I find that bleach works as good, if not better, than steam. Compared to 5-10 mins steaming a polished chrome bath fixture to get it sparkling, it took 30 secs using your household bath cleaner with bleach.

3. Steam just doesn''t work efficiently on mineral build-up. Chemicals are far more time-efficient. Hard water stains and deposits require lots of time and lots of elbow-grease (scrubbing). And even then, I''m not convinced it was cleaner than using chemicals (i.e., judging from the "gleam" off the surface).

4. The steam pressure is not very high. It isn''t very low either, but definnitely not high enough to "blow" debris away more than an inch or two from where the steam jet hits. The best approach seems to loosen with steam then wash away with water or wipe away with sponge. Hence, I don''t recommend using this for something like cleaning a car engine where neither wash nor wipe are feasible. (I guess you could steam long enough so that the condensed water from the steam was enough to wash away the gunk on its own, but that would take forever.)

5. It needs time to build up steam pressure while you work. The light is supposed to turn off when it is ready. While in use, the light will come on when the pressure reaches some threshold. Continued use beyond that point without letting it rest means you work with less pressure. When the tank is full of "condensed" water, the light comes on more frequently. As the water is depleted and more volume in the tank can accommodate vapor steam, the light comes on less often.

6. The width of the brushes simply do not permit reaching into 90 degree crevices or those really tight spaces. This is minor, however, but a flat or low-profile brush attachment would have been nice. A medium bristle toothbrush is a nice companion in my cleaning adventures...

Overall, pretty happy with this unit. To be efficient, I''ve found using a combined balance of chemicals and steam is best. It definitely reduces the amount of chemicals I need to use. For hard-to-reach or delicate surface areas, steam wins outright (with the mentioned toothbrush).

I am cleaning things that used to be such a drag! I have panelled doors, and some doors with louvres (that are painted). The dust collects in the nooks and crannies. Well, a few blasts from this machine, and a swipe with a cloth, and dirt is gone. I used the floor scrubber on the bathroom floor, and it works great! I use old diaper rags instead of the one terry cloth they provided. Any rag will do. The floor scubber has these heavy duty clips that grab the rag so you can steam and go as you please.

As for the toilet? Well, we have little boys that come over and do their thing all over the place. The steam gets in the cracks of the toilet, and you should see all the gunk that came out.

I am not sure if it disinfects, so I just put some disinfectant on the towel that I wiping up with.

As for the soap scum? Yes, it is hard the first time you use it, but the next time it goes much easier. Slick as glass, and it does stay cleaner longer.

Plastic foliage? Done in a snap!

I have steamed base boards, walls, most of my spring cleaning is done, and I''ve only had it a few days. It also works great on miniblinds!

I''ve even cleaned the black stuff off the brick of the fireplace!

Grease and grime on your kitchen cabinets? Gone!

Vegetable bins in the fridge? Glass shelves. Done in a snap! Be careful though, if the shelves are cold, you may crack them with the hot steam. I take my shelves out and let them sit for awhile.

The glass door of the oven looks great!

I am going to try to peel off wallpaper with it next.

The only con is the constant fill up of the "little mouse", that''s what we''ve begun calling it. The steam lasts maybe about twenty minutes, then you have to turn it off for five, then fill, then wait five more minutes. No big deal for me, I can use the breaks.

All in all, an excellent purchase.

If anyone else has any other cleaning hints for this machine, please post them. I''m sure there are lots that I''m missing.

I am allergic to everything, especially dust. For this reason, I have no carpet only hardwood floors, or tiles in the kitchen and bath. I saw an infomertial for some Euro-steamer thing, where they touted how well the "steamer" cleans hardwood and tile floors with water and no chemicals. I figured I''d buy through Amazon for quicker shipping. However, most of the reviews explained that the unit was cheap, and that it would break in just a few uses. Other people burned themselves. One reviewer suggested this McCulloch steamer.

I bought the McCulloch MC-1272 in December 2005, to clean all the floors in my apartment. I''ve used it every 2-3 weeks since. In general, using this steamer is a little more inconvenient than a vacuum because you really don''t want to bang it around or tug on the hose.

Here are the negativesit doesn''t have a handle, which makes moving it from one room to the next a bit of a pain. But I guess that''s because they don''t want you walking around, carrying a tank of super-scalding pressurized water. Nuff said. Also, the device ships with one cloth that''s used for the floor-cleaning attachment. It wears pretty fast, so if you''re getting the steamer primarily to clean floors, I highly recommend you order some extras right away. They are machine washable. Also, I recommend you get a six or eight inch funnel from your hardware store, for filling the tank. If you try to use the spout of a pitcher, you will spill water everywhere but that''s mopped up pretty easily once the beast is fired up.

Here are the positivesfill it up, turn it on, in about 10 minutes you''re steamin'' away. The hose is quite durable, and despite the warning stickers everywhere, none of the surfaces on the attachments have gotten so hot that they could have burnt me. This was a subject of many complaints with the EuroSteam thing. Also, none of the attachments has sprung leaks, or melted another common complaint with cheaper steamers. With a gallon of water, this steamer pushed steam for about 45 minutes, which was ample time for all the floors in my apartment. I figured I''d plug in some of the wire-brushes and attack all the mildew in the shower while waiting for it to empty. The jury''s still out on the shower; I think a few squirts of Tilex do a better job on grout. But for cleaning hard surface floors, I have found nothing better than this steamer.

The bottom lineif you''re thinking of getting a steamer, here''s what you should consider: this model steamer is the low-end of the "good" quality devices. Anything cheaper will be a waste of money, and will only be good for a few uses before it breaks, melts, or springs a leak and burns you. If you have the cash and can spend more, do so you DO get what you pay for. There are more expensive models with fancy features, and greater capacity. However, if you''re like me and trying to get the most bang for the least possible buck, this machine is where innexpensive and quality meet. It has been reliable for me, for the past 5 months.

My dad had one of those Euro Steamer''s, and was looking fondly at that "other" handheld they put on TV all the time. Problem is they are junk. What are you going to do with about 5 minutes of steam anyway!? His birthday was coming up, so I got him this one. I have to say it was even more impressive than the description. Not only do they have all the attachments of the handheld (and perhaps more), they are well made attachments not the cheap, plastic, ill-fitting, junk you get with the handheld.

For instance, the extensions, heavy gauge hard plastic with double o-ring seals where they connect. They fit together solid, and would be hard to break, even if you stepped on them by accident. My dads Euro Steamer broke the tip off it when he turned in a doorway. This stuff is definitely not that fragile. The connectors to the steam hose and the steam gun are just as well made, if not better. They combine metal fittings with rugged plastic parts, and solid sealing o-rings.

About those attachments, they include a concentrator with a round brush on the head, and six different brushes to choose from. Some are nylon of various sizes, and one is a brass brush for the tough surfaces. They have a corner brush, a window cleaner with steam squeegee, an attachment for the extension pieces that steam-mops floors, and a round scrubber attachment. It also came with a 16 ounce measuring cup and a funnel for filling. Outside of the attachments, there is one mounting handle to attach to the unit. It attaches to the body with an included, machine screw. They even include a foot long, toolbox quality, Phillips head screwdriver with the package, to put in the single assembly screw, nice touch!

What about steam you ask? Well I laugh my head off at seeing those oilcan looking things on TV put out that thick steam in the commercial. You have to let those things get heated up fully, and that big plume you see on the demo lasts about a minute at most. I wouldn''t be surprised if they connected a hidden steam hose to demo those junky things. Not so, with the McCullock, with a full tank you get close to an hour worth of solid, cleaning steam. The gun is the most fun to use, be careful not to get your face too close to the work, because the steam blowback is hot! The glass tool really did work on the shower glass. I''ve not tried them all, but since it''s the steam that does the real work. The attachments all pass on solid construction alone.

One of the main reasons we got a steamer, is because you can clean and kill germs without chemicals. Our pet poodle Sandy is a bit too curious when licking up spills, so using chemical cleaners can be dangerous around him. Moreover, antibiotic cleaners are under fire by health officials for their potential of creating super-bugs. If just one of the bacteria survives the antibiotic cleaner, it will be antibiotic resistant! It can return as a bacteria colony that no longer is affected by the cleanser! Steam cleaning is just as anti-septic, and it doesn''t create resistant strains of germs!

I absolutely love this steamer! Unlike the smaller hand held steamers this one holds enough water to steam for almost an hour! And it packs a punch! I can''t stop steaming! I''ve steamed my cupboards, refridgerator, oven, microwave, floor boards, carpet, silk plants, tile floor, showers, tubs and more! I haven''t been disappointed once! Also, cleaning without harsh chemicals is such a blessing because of my sensitive skin! Light weight, quick and easy to use! Love IT!!

Eva-Dry E-333 Mini-Dehumidifier

Eva-Dry E-333 Mini-Dehumidifier - 2 PackTHis is a great device to have in a motor home or boat cabin....you can charge it over and over and it lets you know in a glance if it needs a charge. It sucks up humidity like a sponge!

I bought two of these for fireproof/waterproof safes that we have. I read somewhere that an airtight safe (like one that is fire/water proof) can trap humidity and cause metal items to rust and other items (even paper) to mold. Seems like cheap insurance and they claim to last for 5 years!

My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to tell what color those crystals are exactly..... No biggie, though just set a regular schedule to plug them in and don''t worry about it!

I love the concept of these items. I have them hanging in 2 small closets that always had a musty smell. They have been there now for several days, but the musty smell has not completely gone away. I seem to notice somewhat of a difference, and hope that after several more days the odor will be gone for good. Not sure how many days it takes to get rid of the odor. One closet has less of a musty smell than the other, so I think they do work, but do take longer than I expected to get rid of the initial odor. If the odor is completely removed then I recommend, but as of right now it is just too soon since some of the odor is still present. I will give it another week or so before I come to a conclusion. I am hopeful that they will help since I have been buying damp rid, and to have to replace damp rid it does get expensive, so if these work they will save me some money. Like I said I love the concept, but perhaps they have not been in the closet long enough yet. I hope this helps someone else who is interested in pruchasing these products. I have had them in my closet now for a week or so. One closet the smell is almost gone, and the other closet may take a few extra days since it does still smell musty. I am now ready to edit my review since I have had the product long enough to charge it by plugging it into the wall. In my opinion it really does not work that well, and I am disappointed. I purchased two of these, and initially was hopful that they were working, but the closets still have that musty smell, and they are very small guest closets in my foyer area. I could not recommend these to anyone.

Hydro Logic Stealth RO 200 Customized Reverse Osmosis filter

Hydro Logic Stealth RO 200 Customized Reverse Osmosis filterI have a hydroponic greenhouse, and unfortunately the water supply has too much calcium and so tap water was not good enough for hydroponic systems. Basically, the calcium combines with the plant foods and comes out of solution, throwing your chemicals out of balance. I started by setting up one of the typical under counter RO units in the greenhouse. This worked for a while, but as the plants started needing more water as the summer months came in, I found that the small RO system could not produce enough water.

I purchased this Hydro Logic Stealth unit, and have been extremely happy with it. It produces water with an electrical conductivity reading of 0.0, which is what you want for hydroponics. Next, I found that it had no trouble producing enough water for my 20X30 greenhouse running at full capacity. I also found that the amount of waste water generated was acceptable.

One suggestion . . . to get maximum benefit from this unit, dont try and hook it to a pressure tank. I have mine hooked to large plastic tanks, and connected to a float valve to turn the unit off when the tank if full. This allows you to really maximize the amount of RO water the unit produces.

I am delighted with this unit and would recommend it to anyone interested in hydroponic gardening.

(By the way, I grow Tomatoes, Lettuce, Peppers and Cucumbers)

Excellent product for the price! It arrived in the time stated and undamaged. It makes about 5 gallons per hour running at 50 psi. PPM of 8. Im getting a 4 to 1 waste ratio. The paperwork included claimed it was a 3 to 1 ratio but no big deal. It did come with a eco Waste reducer to change it to a 2 to 1 which im not using.

It came with all tubing needed to setup and start making RO water in less than min. The water line in came with a garden hose adapter but if you want to plum it in to your house you will need to set that up yourself which is actually simple if you havent done it before. You will also need an adapter for the waste line to tie in to existing plumbing if you choose.

I run this unit outside to a drum with a float valve, the unit comes with a auto shutoff that works great in combo with a float valve.

This thing rocks! I combined this RO filter with a auto shut-off valve and love it. I can keep it hooked up and on all the time going to my reservoir. Whenever it needs filling, it does it automatically. This filter works great, I would recommend to anyone looking for a RO filter.

Philips Saeco RI9822/47 Talea Giro Plus Automatic Espresso Machine Save 42% Off

Philips Saeco RI9822/47 Talea Giro Plus Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver and TitaniumDefinitely worth 5 stars overall in my estimation having done lots of research and knowing its limitations before the purchase. Quality of the espresso produced surpasses almost all coffee shops including Charbucks and others by far. An expert barrista may be able to produce slightly better quality, but even their results are not consistent.

I previously returned a Jura-Capresso 13423 Impressa S9 One Touch Automatic Coffee-and-Espresso Center, Platinum because it produced inferior espresso and frothed milk with gigantic lukewarm bubbles. I would not have returned it (even at that price) if it had performed as well as the Talea. (THANK YOU AMAZON for a great return policy.) In fairness to the Jura, maybe it was faulty at the finest setting the grounds looked very coarse coarser than I would use for French-Press coffee.

The Talea cost 1/3 the price, produces far superior espresso, and very acceptable frothed milk BUT it is made of plastic and not stainless which might be a more important disadvantage for some. The ceramic grinder is quieter, producing very noticeably finer espresso-sized grounds at the factory middle setting (experimentation proved this setting to be the best) than the Jura set to the finest grind. Consequently the coffee is much stronger than the single scoop of coffee would suggest (as compared with the Jura''s 2 smaller scoops).

Within 80 seconds after switching it on, it completes a warm-up procedure which includes passing some 2oz of hot water (I use it to pre-heat my cup) through the two dispensing nozzles and is ready to brew coffee. The relatively small size of the spent coffee-puck bin, dregs tray, 8oz bean hopper, and 57oz water reservoir can be annoying when you are making numerous coffees, but I see the positive here "The Nasties" do not build up. Rinsing the puck-bin and dregs tray under warm water each time I refill the water container takes much less than one minute usually only once per day. The steam wand also needs wiping down and flushing with steam after each use to prevent "The Nasties" and I pull off the stainless part and wash it and wipe the internal pipe after each session of multiple frothings.

I choese not to use the expensive water filters because my soft tap-water will require few descalings. Weekly rinsing of the easily removed brew-group (the plastic guts of the machine) is easily accomplished without using expensive chemicals. At the same time I soap and rinse the water reservoir, puck bin, and dregs-tray. Lubrication of moving parts of the brew-group (using the food-safe lubricant provided) is suggested after 500 brewing cycles. Every 2 months should do it for my usage.

A ½oz ristretto is too strong for me if more than "1 bean" (7gm of coffee grounds) coffee strength is selected. When making a long coffee (6oz of coffee in an 8oz cup) "1 bean" is fairly strong, "2 beans" is strong, and "3 beans" (10.5gm of coffee grounds) is too strong and I like strong coffee. The "Saeco Brewing System" is easily adjusted to produce espressos with lots of crema or long coffees with little crema and greatly improved taste. This is not the sales gimmick I had suspected it to be. Froth is of a fairly good quality easily matching most store-bought coffees, but a good barrista can always produce far superior frothed milk on a high-powered semi-automatic machine.

When I ran out of my regular, every-day coffee (Lavazza Super Crema) I used a local high-quality medium-roast coffee which was quite oily (must have been rather old tasted below par) but the ceramic grinder handled these with ease. Though I would never use them (their taste is so inferior to my palate) dark roasts always tend to be oily and are best-avoided in super-automatics where cleaning the grinder becomes a major issue. Medium and light roasts work best with all super-automatics. The by-pass doser is excellent for decaf. coffee and the single-origin beans I use occasionally, though I have to use my separate burr grinder for them. Even though I am making more coffee drinks per day because it is so quick and easy, I am using less coffee. Wasted/stewed coffee is effectively eliminated.

This machine will accommodate mugs of 5½" (6¼" if drip tray is removed). Even my Nissan Travel mugs can be filled directly from the machine using the double brew feature (2 quick presses of the brew button gives 2 complete, consecutive brew cycles) for 2 x 6½oz = 13oz of coffee again from fairly strong (1 bean/14gm coffee) through too strong (3 beans/21gm coffee).

I use several different styles and sizes of cup (for ristrettos, espressos, long coffees, lattes, macchiatos, and cappuccinos) so I PREFER the simple selection process this machine offers to that of the more-programmable and more-expensive Talea Touch model. For me it would be a pain to have to enter programming mode because the available 3 selections does not cover the range of drinks, sizes, and strengths I make. AND I only have to make 2 adjustments each time (size, strength) before pressing the brew button compared to 1 button on the Talea Touch.

The one big question I have about this machine (and all other "super-automatics") is long term reliability. They all have plastic "brew-groups" the working parts which do the tamping, brewing, and ejection of spent coffee pucks, and these may be this type of machine''s weakest link BUT replacement brew-groups are available for $60. I quickly discovered that this was the culprit when the warning light came on when everything was OK (bean hopper and water reservoir full, puck-bin and dregs tray empty). During the weekly maintenance I now vacuum the machine all around the (removed) brew-group supports, and gently waggle the brew-group as I re-insert it to ensure that it is correctly and fully seated. No longer a problem and the weekly maintenance takes less than 5-minutes.

My 5 Stars would be less if a stainless body and larger capacities were more important to me. So far I am delighted with both the ease of use and quality of product. Though better coffees may be possible, this barrista (and most others) cannot produce them consistently.

I have owned this machine for only a month. In that time I have not used any of my numerous other coffee-makers. It is producing 5 to 15 good quality coffees per day without fuss or waste. Any change and I shall revisit this review.

I have had my saeco talea Giro for about two years now. It had to be serviced once during this time. The machine is a bit touchy and you really have to get to know how it works before you can judge it. First of all you have to keep it cleaned and de-scaled to keep it in good working order. If you have no time for this then do not buy it. Lights will come on before you start to brew to let you know you have to clean out the coffee grounds or empty the water well. This can be annoying if you are ready to have an espresso and you have to stop and clean things out. It will not work unless this is done first. So what I do after I brew is take the time and clean and empty grounds so the next time it is ready to go. With that said, I absolutely love making my latte it is of the highest quality that you would find at Starbucks or any other great coffee house. I even take it with me on vacation, if I can. I think for the money though, it should be made of stainless steel and not plastic on the outside. Also the drip tray should be make more sturdy to hold a large cup and not break off like mine did. If you have any problems with this machine after warranty you have to ship it off to a dealer that fixes these machines. That can me troublesome and you have to do without your espresso machine for weeks. I did give this a high rating because of the excellent quality of espresso and lattes. In the end that is why I bought the machine.

I''ve had this machine almost a year and have used it at least once a day with no problems. It''s my first expresso machine so it''s really my testing machine. It makes great expresso and it''s very quick and easy but as previous reviewer said, it''s a bit touchy and I found the initial learning curve annoying.

Pros: I can make multiple cups easily.

It has the ability to select shot size, strength of expresso and the amount of water dispensed with the shot.

It has a pre-ground coffee bypass feature which I love for late night decaf and trying different brands for different family members tastes.

Because it warms quickly I can have a latte before work in the morning.

As semi automatic its convenient, consistent and makes great lattes.

No more costly Starbucks!

Cons :You have to stay on top of the maintenance and prep.

Lights will come on if the grounds aren''t emptied and water tank filled.

It takes up a good bit of counter space.

It''s plastic and the drip tray does not support a large coffee cup filled with milk for steaming. I have to prop it with another cup.

I gave it 4 stars because, as a semi automatic, it produces wonderfully consistent expresso and lattes, is very easy to use and it''s fast. As a starter machine it''s great and when I move on up I''ll know what I want in my next machine.

This machine was a wedding gift from our uncle that he purchased on Amazon. So far we are very pleased with the coffee it makes. The espressos have a lovely crema every time, and the milk steamer practically works on its own, you can just place your milk container on the drip tray and let it do its work, you will always get really smooth foam. My husband calls this machine idiot proof, once you have set the dials to your preferred settings, you simply place your cup and push a button for a great espresso every time. One thing we should mention, however, is we did read the manual carefully and realized if you want optimum results on the long-term it''s important to follow their suggestions regarding cleaning and maintenance of the machine. All in all we really love the machine and hope it maintains it''s great performance for a long time.

UPDATE: We have had this machine now for more than two months and it continues to brew perfect coffee day after day with no problems whatsoever. We brew on average 6 to 8 cups of coffee each day with this machine. The more we use it, the more we love it. Cleaning and maintenance is very easy. Again, if you follow the regular cleaning and maintenance cycles for this unit you should have no problems with it. We have a local Saeco distributor close to us and were happy to find that regardless that we purchased the unit from Amazon, they were happy to advise on best coffee types and other information specific to this model along with replacement parts, descaler liquid and water filters for this unit when required. This is a very simple unit to use. It looks amazing we always get comments from guests about what an amazing coffee machine we have and it continues to work perfectly day after day. If I could say, if you have the extra money, the upgrade to the digital display model Philips Saeco RI9828/47 Talea Touch Plus Automatic Espresso Machine would be a nice touch for the extra hundred dollars.

I purchased this machine after 12 years with the Athena from Starbucks. Granted the Athena was not automatic and would really have enjoyed an automatic machine. This one was pretty bad. I have only had this one for two weeks. I did have to get used to the warm up procedure every morning when I turned it on. It dispensed one shot of water through the espresso spout and another shot of water through the milk frother. It just konked out on me today. I used the machine with the bean grinder for espresso shots for my husband and the coffee bypass one for decaffinated grounds for myself. It had a tendency to trigger the warming up light. Today the water light kept coming on after I dispensed my one shot of espresso. The water tank was half full. I filled the water tank and shut it back. I was finding myself slamming the door to get the machine to register that I had done what it had asked. Frequently I had to pull the main espresso part out and slam it back in with all the doors to get it to register. I feel like I''m doing the same thing I had to do with an old copier in the office. Not a good sign for a high end machine. Well today after two weeks it just gave out. I tried turning the machine on and off. I took the water tank out filled it up with water, slammed it back in its spot and the dredges drawer and still it wouldnt turn off the maintenance light and the water light came off. I turned the water light off and still no espresso, I could still get water from the frother but no espresso.

I''ve had it, sending it back. Its not like it was a $50 machine. Maybe I should be expecting performance from a $2000 machine?
