2 Black Berkey Replacement Filters & 2 PF-2 Fluoride Filters

2 Black Berkey Replacement Filters & 2 PF-2 Fluoride FiltersI have used Berkey filters for some time, and been very satisfied, but these replacement filters are not the quality that I had come to expect from Berkey. They are glued together at the bottom with the glue showing, and they came unglued after just a couple of weeks of usage, making them virtually useless. In previous replacement filters, the water dripped through slowly and in these they went through very fast, meaning that they really aren''t doing a very good filtering job. Either Berkey has compromised their formerly high standards, or these are incredibly cheap knock-offs, and I don''t trust thme to filter the water to any degree of the standard that they claim.

The filters arrived in a timely manner, and were well-packaged to prevent damage. The invoice even included a pleasant hand-written note.

So far, the filters are operating up to specifications. Although they''re a little pricey, they save a bundle in the long run as compared with buying bottled water. In addition, this filter system operates without plumbing or electricity, so it can also be used in emergency situations.

It`s kinda weird reviewing a water filter replacement cartridge, because there`s not a whole lot to say. Been using the Berkey filter for 10 years and am very happy with it. Everyone needs a gravity water filter. When the grid goes down, you won`t need electricity for this thing to work. At any rate, one of the reviewers mentioned the silicon glue at the bottom of the black filter was visible and the carbon filter was actually coming apart from the base, hence the water was just pouring through unfiltered. This happened to me as well, from a pair I ordered a couple years ago. The Berkey company had a statement about this on their websitethere was a batch that was constructed with bad glue. They apologized and sent out new filters to everyone who had purchased a bad pair within that time frame. It was a drag not to have filters for a couple of weeks, but worth it in the end.

Great filter. Great company.

My son who is in college need a good clean source of drinking water, and we all know they''re always in a budget. So 3 years ago, (during his freshman years), I got him the Berkey water filtration system. He loved it, not only he have to walk all day long to his campus but he does a lot of soccer, martial arts and just plain running around. So he needs lot and lots of drinking water, those bottled water doesn''t work for him, they''re expensive and none environmental friendly, that''s why all he need was a good sports water bottle and made his own drinking water. The water came out so clean and taste good that even his friend comes and ask water from him. Now that it''s been a good couple of years, he told me to get the filter replaced, so, I searched around and found the best deal from Amazon.com. I would highly recommend the water system for college bound kids or use it when you travel. We have a "whole house" filtration system, so it''s not necessary for us to use it at home, but for those who doesn''t I would definitely recommend Berkey.

I know the manufacturer says they don''t remove the minerals, but I don''t think these filters remove anything other than $$ from your wallet. After boiling the supposedly "filtered" water through these so-called filters one is left with the worrying question... "what is all this crud that''s left after the water has evaporated?" Try boiling with spring or RO water and the pan remains clean no highly questionable crusty crud''s left behind. As for the so-called PF-2''s fluoride filters which loosely hang of the black filter threads like a Biafran in Fatty Arbuckles pants the lab tests from 3M were terrifying. Municipal supply of the sample sent averages 0.30 0.60ppm FLUORIDE. 3M Lab Result: 0.36 ppm of FLUORIDE remained in the sample of the "filtered" water that was submitted.

Melitta 46893 12-Cup Coffee Maker Save 45% Off

Melitta 46893 12-Cup Coffee MakerIf you are reading these reviews on coffee makers you, like me, are amazed at how nearly every maker has very mixed reviews. Why can''t a good standard coffee maker be made? My first drip coffee maker lasted 15 years, my second about 8 years but after reading many of the reviews, it appears it''s now common for makers to only last 2-3 years! I do like to grind my own beans and my previous coffee maker was a Melitta but it was mediocre in grinding and started to leak at the end of its 8 years. I decided this medium priced coffee maker without a coffee grinder was a good compromise on price and functionality. I have been using it for a month now and have been very impressed. The cone filters do give a better brew but only if you get coffee that is medium fine ground, many commercial coffees are coarse ground.

Melitta also makes some coffee and I have found their Vienna Roast to be particularly good. I do believe that the setting on the machine allowing you to make stronger or weaker brews does work. It basically does a slower cycle if you want stronger coffee but again make sure you have medium fine ground coffee to make this work for you. For those of you who are fanatics about hot coffee, it stays plenty hot on the warmer, I had to actually change my setting to a cooler setting. My only criticism is the basket handle must be up when you insert it into the maker. Once you hear the basket snap then you fold down the handle. It took me several days to figure out why I was having difficulty with the basket. I would have given 5 stars had this feature worked better, but not a problem once you understand how to insert it correctly.

So after my frustration at researching coffee makers I am very happy with this one. Rest assured that I will update this review if I find the coffee maker doesn''t hold up over time... happy brewing!

UPDATE: I''m updating the review just to reinforce its pros and add another. After 4 months, it''s working like a champ(as expected). I''d like to add another pro: Sometimes when I pour the coffee too quickly, the coffee overcomes the spout and coffee drips along the carafe''s wall on to the table especially when the carafe is full. I always have to be careful not to pour it too quickly. However the spout on this carafe is made such that it prevents over-spill. I love it.

Original review:

I usually brew my coffee with Bialetti 6800 Moka Express 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker with whole coffee beans ground by Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder, Black. However, when we have guests, we need a regular coffee maker: I can''t brew enough coffee with Moka Express without running it 2-4 times and that just simply takes too long.

We used to have a braun coffee maker with served us well. When it started leaking, we had to look for an alternative. I was not too impressed with any of the cuisinarts and finally trimmed my selection down to this and Zojirushi coffee makers. While trying to decide, Woot.com had a Wolfgang Puck coffee maker on sale and I pulled the trigger. I shouldn''t have. When it arrived, I was let down by cheap-feeling plastics and "metals". The carafe had to be inserted with pressure and just right position to avoid spills. I had to send it back.

Then, this coffee maker price dropped to $50 and I had to try it. Am I ever glad that I did! Here are pros and cons:

PROS:

1. Makes a great cup of coffee. It''s not as good as Moka Express, but I''ve never found a drip coffee maker that even comes close. This one comes closer than any I''ve tasted. I only tried "Bold" mode, but you can also use "Regular" and "Robust" for lighter and darkest flavors respectively.

2. Coffee temperature is hot. I haven''t actually measured it, but it''s hotter than my braun and other cuisinarts I''ve tried. This adds to the taste of the coffee.

3. Carafe goes into the coffee maker without any fuss very smooth. Many coffee makers now use one of those round ball-like contact point between the carafe and the coffee maker. The problem with many of them is that the contact is awkward most of the time. This one fits smoothly.

4. Looks great on the counter. My finicky wife is satisfied with the looks that''s all I can ask. She says the plastic on the Wolfgang Puck was very cheap looking while this one looks descent. She''s the expert.

CONS:

1. This is slightly taller than other coffee makers. As other reviewers have mentioned, you may have to pull it out of under the cabinet in order to pour water into the bin.

2. There is no auto-shutoff. Not much of a problem for me.

3. When set at "Bold" setting, it does take longer to brew than I''m used to. "Robust" would certainly take even longer.

I would highly recommend this coffee maker just for the taste of the coffee. Other pros are bonus. :)

Buy Melitta 46893 12-Cup Coffee Maker Now

The reason for the title is due to this product being shown inaccurately on Amazon. The photo shows a stainless thermal carafe when indeed this is not the product being sold here. The thermal model is a 10-cup coffee maker while this is the 12-cup glass model. The seller was nice and made amends for the misleading page and my review of the product is in no way reflective of this incident. While true that the description does not state "thermal", I had looked at the other Melitta thermal 10-cup one and had selected this one because it was a 12-cup model. I think the coffee makers may be the same except for the carafe, the thermal being fewer cups because of the thickness of the carafe.

The product is attractive and the controls being above the carafe ensures they will not get soaked in the event of a spill, which can happen with other makers where the controls are in front of the hot plate. The Braun machine I am replacing (broken carafe) was like this. I will be using the Braun as a comparison in this review.

The controls on the Melitta are simple: A large round button for turning the maker on and off with a red LED in the center to indicate status. A similar button to the left of the display selects the brew strength of Regular, Bold, or Robust, which is displayed in small text at the bottom of the blue-backlit display. There seems to be a noticeable difference in Regular and Bold. I have not tried Robust. Near the brew select button is a small button for the hot plate temperature for LO, MED, or HI. Unlike some people who sue fast food chains for making hot coffee, I like my coffee hot so I set this to "HI". The downside is that since I make only enough coffee for a single serving and forget to turn off the unit, it scorches the small amount that might be remaining in the carafe. This is because the hot plate remains on for two hours and is not adjustable. My older Braun unit (about 10 years now) has an adjustable hot plate timer from zero (instant off) to four hours in 1-minute increments. I don''t see why any programmable coffee maker today would not have this feature. The other small buttons are to set the clock and the auto-brew time. A small LED lights up to indicate that auto-brew is enabled.

Physically, the maker is fairly trim width-wise but is pretty tall. It is nearly 2 inches taller than my Braun and while it will fit below my cabinets, you can''t open the filler doors, so it has to remain out front of the cabinets. The flip-up doors are a bad design. The coffee area cannot be opened without also opening the water reservoir door as well. You can open the water door without open the coffee door, but not the other way ''round. This makes it possible to spill some coffee grounds into the water reservoir if you''re not very careful. The filter basket has a handle that swings up and the basket can be inserted only one way and the handle must be raised or the basket will not seat properly. I''m not certain of the reasoning behind this design but it isn''t a critical thing once you''re used to it.

The carafe is well-designed. It has a piece near the pouring spout inside the carafe that makes it a bit difficult for large hands to reach inside for cleaning, but it is a small price to pay for the way it pours, which is excellent. There is never any back-pouring of the coffee which I believe is why this piece is in the carafe. The lid will attempt to fall open when the carafe is nearly empty, but I prevent this now by keeping my thumb pressed lightly against the flipper part of the lid. It would have been nice if there had been a spring or more friction in the hinge to prevent this. The water level indicator matches the indicator on the reservoir perfectly. I''m not sure if Melitta has compensated for water loss in the filter and evaporation with these measurements. I typically pour a 16.9-oz. container of bottled water that fills my travel cup almost perfectly.

I purchased the whole bean Kicking Horse "Kick Ass" coffee with this and it''s pretty good. I like the Bold setting. I have also ordered a burr grinder and will delegate my Cuisinart blade grinder to spices only. So far, this coffee maker is satisfactory for my needs. I am hoping to be able to find the thermal carafe (if indeed it is compatible. The only thing is, it seems odd that the hot plate will still be on unless manually turned off.

P.S. For some reason, the Amazon link and page for this lists "Hamilton Beach" as the manufacturer, but it is a Melitta product.

I purchased this item after returning the stainless-steel carafe version (because the SS version leaked all the water out of the tank onto my counter). I was skeptical, but presumed that the SS one was simply defective.

The glass version has worked out perfectly, and is the best drip coffee maker I have had in several years.

PROS:

Brew-strength selector-I like the "bold" setting-the coffee tastes great! No need to add extra coffee for a bolder flavor, the temp of the water automatically adjusts to create the perfect brew based on your selection.

Timer: easy to set the night before for hot coffee when you wake up

Auto-off: always a nice feature, also, unlike some others, you can turn the hot plate back on to reheat the pot. Other machines I have had will not allow repat-on without adding water to make a new pot.

Hot plate temp adjust: I live at altitude, so I really like being able to set the hot plate to "high" to actually keep the coffee HOT.

Carafe: it doesn''t leak or drip! It really doesnt! No more icky rag on the counter to catch drips.

CONS: (quite minor)

The filter basket is a bit shallow; this is the first coffee maker I''ve had that you really must fold the filter edges over . If you don''t fold them, it doesn''t fit very well.

The LCD is quite bright-doesnt'' bother me as I don''t sleep near the kitchen. Would be an issue in a dorm-room or a small apartment where the LCD is visible from sleeping areas.

Overall this is a great coffee maker with all the features you need, plus some really nice ones like the brew strength.

The price is reasonanble . Definitely beats the Mr. Coffees and Cuisinarts out there.

I''ve had this Melitta coffee maker for about 2 months. It works fine and makes great tasting coffee, that is when the included carafe isn''t broken!!!

One month ago, my mother in law broke the carafe glass when she bumped the carafe against the toaster. From speaking with her, she was clearly shocked that the glass broke, but given that I didn''t see this happen, I figured it was an accident and that she was being klutzy, nuff said. I ordered a new carafe directly through Melitta that cost $25. Also, since this is a custom non-standard carafe, this carafe is ONLY available through Melitta and you cannot purchase a replacement anywhere else. When you call Melitta, they actually don''t sell this carafe, they will give you a different phone number to call to order the part through 3rd party vendor.

So going forward, a few weeks go by and we''re happily making coffee again. Then, this past Saturday the carafe broke again and this time I saw it happen! Basically, I sat the carafe down on the counter, it moved about one inch back and bumped the other side of counter wall with VERY minimal force. I mean, it barely touched it. In disbelief, I saw the glass crack right in front of my eyes. The glass on this carafe is extremely weak and will break at some point unless you treat it like a $5,000 Faberge egg! You know, I''ve been drinking coffee for many years and this $50 Melitta coffee maker replaced a Mr. Coffee that I used for 8 years without problem and cost $20. I never had any issues like this with that Mr. Coffee or any other coffee maker I''ve owned, just this Melitta, so nothing has changed with regard to how I handle the carafe and I''m not being careless with it.

To finish the story, I again called Melitta customer service (only available on weekdays) about my experience and they told me to take a hike. In other words, there is nothing they could do and told me to buy another carafe for $25 (which would make my investment in this product over $100!). After this conversation with Melitta customer service, I''m calling it a $75 loss and I''m going back to buy a more inexpensive Mr. Coffee with a carafe that doesn''t come with a standard shatter feature!

Replaced a whole house humidifier pad that had been in my Honeywell HE265B for about two years. This pad is easy to install but it will be made of plastic and seem a little less robust than the aluminum pad that you may be replacing. The recommendation is to change the filter twice a heating season so this may be a more cost effective alternative than its aluminum alternative HC26E1004.

Everpure VOC #1 Replacement Cartridge

Everpure VOC #1 Replacement Cartridge
  • Cartridge replacement is easy just like changing a light blub
  • Not for sale in California

We installed the Everpure ROM III reverse-osmosis system when remodelling our kitchen at the end of 2009, and it produced delicious water for about a year, which is about how long this and one of the other three rather expensive cartridges are expected to last. The most expensive cartridge (list price $360) lasts for 2-3 years... how nice, huh?

Once one year had slipped by, however, we''ve been unable to purchase this particular replacement cartridge because of some "certification" issue within California. Really NO ONE will sell this item to a California resident. We are now stuck with a $1000 R/O system that now only provides delicious water if you''re a fish!! (...assuming fish like pond water!?) I''m so frustrated with Everpure over this and must now accept that we either replace this entire system or perhaps get used to the taste of chlorine and go back to drinking plain old water with fluoride and all the other junk our city is authorized to send our way. UGH!!

Bottom line I''d say don''t buy Everpure if you live in California or Vermont. I have yet to determine an explanation as to why it apparently does not perform up to par enough for our overlords, but passes for the rest of you, nor why we were able to buy this package to begin with! double-UGH!!

Bosch Vacuum Cleaner Premium Electro Duo XXL HC BSG81380UC Save 23% Off

Bosch Vacuum Cleaner Premium Electro Duo XXL HC BSG81380UCWhen I thought it was time to replace my trusty Miele White Pearl I looked to Consumer Reports for my ''research''. This was their top-rated unit ever and it came with a HEPA filter which I really wanted. I can weep when I see the price listed here because when I bought it in 2007 it cost over $2000 (CDN). For that price and with that endorsement I was confident it was a sure bet. I was so very wrong. The design was clever but the ergonomics were poor and I simply hated everything about it. Here''s why:

* The hose did not rotate on both the handle AND the vacuum ends -which means a fair bit of time spent fussing and untwisting it. It was awkward and cumbersome in the extreme.

* The "attachments" are all part of the hand unit which seems really clever while in truth all it means is they will require a fair bit of handling to disassemble the lot of them before you can use them and then you have to ''rebuild'' them. Your hands will be all over the business ends so if you are fussy about that kind of stuff, and I am, it will bother you. Once you do get them apart, and the one you need attached, you''ll find that not one of them is very good at their intended purpose -which I suspect is a result of the compromises to functionality their questionable origami-design required. (I loved the hygienic simplicity of my Miele where I could flip open the top of the canister with a tap of my toe and all the tools were nicely laid out for easy access and use.)

* The plastic material is cheap! Within 4 months the handle had already cracked. We are very low impact livers and treat our stuff with great care -that crack occurred with light use and careful handling.

* The cheap plastic holds static! The vacuum head and hose attracts and holds everything I am trying to vacuum up and the stuff just clings. Gross. I had to interrupt vacuuming to vacuum it off but found that in order to have any success I needed to use a damp clothe to wipe it down. Once vacuuming resumed so did the accumulation.

* The release collar on the telescoping extension is crudely designed and difficult to release. I really struggled with this and had to get my husband to help me on a couple of occasions. I am an able-bodied person and this was ridiculous.

I retired it after less than a year of owning it -it was retired right into the garbage which is what I thought it was. My cleaning lady asked if she could rescue it and was thrilled to have it -it was out of her price range and she thought she was getting something special. I assured her she was not. I ended up buying one of the new light weight Miele''s that had just came out... I love the long cord and the hose that swivels any which way I want -when I want it to -and the head is a marvel that swivels freely too and so easily it even goes flat so I can quickly scoot under the furniture! I especially appreciate that I do not have to vacuum my vacuum in order to vacuum.

Because of this debacle, I lost my faith in Consumer Reports and suspect that their criteria must be very different from the end users. Now before I buy I check out the reviews Amazon.com where I can hear from people who actually use the products. I find it''s the most reliable indicator, but even if there are raves about a product or brand there''s always going to be someone that got a dud, or had a really bad experience, which in this case was me.

I love my Bosch Premium, have had it for seven years and it has never failed me. I have two rowdy boys and a series of nannies who are not exactly gentle with household appliances, and this one has been one of the few that have survived the fishing of legos out with hangers, smashing against the walls and doors, and stepping on the head to change from ''carpet'' to ''floor.''

Huge fan!

Austin Air Jr. HealthMate Air Purifier HM200 Save $0.01 Off

Austin Air Healthmate Jr. Air Purifier - SandstoneI got the Austin Air Healthmate Junior air purifier when I moved into my new house. The previous owner was a smoker. Although I''d replaced the carpets, painted the walls, and cleaned the ducts, I still needed something to help cut down the residual smoke smell. After extensive research, I chose the Healthmate Junior.

It did the job. It''s nice and quiet on the low setting. On the high setting it''s a bit noisier, but I just set it in a corner and it''s fine. (Not right up against the wall though, because you have to leave a few inches of space around it for it to work right.) I left it running for over a year. The smoke smell is gone from the house now. Even my mother, with her super-sensitive nose, can''t smell anything when she comes to visit.

I did buy a new filter after about nine or ten months. The air coming out of the Healthmake Junior started to smell a bit acrid. I called Austin Air and asked about it, because I thought the filter should last longer. They said it depends on the quality of your air. That makes sense. They gave me a discount on the new filter because it had been such a short time.

I''m quite pleased with it. It looks nice, it''s relatively light, it''s simple to use, it''s quiet, and it works.

Allergies, along with issues from the four pets, created a significant breathing problem. Someone suggested this purchase, and I was skeptical but was in desperate need of relief. An air purifier has made all the difference in my ability to breathe. I only have one for the bedroom, but will get one in the future for the downstairs, too. The company I used to order, Best Filters, was also quite accommodating. Austin sent the wrong color, but BF corrected the problem immediately (within two hours of my email) arranging for the correct color, and then easy pick up of the other unit. I would highly recommend both!

I''m entering my fifth year on my unit and the fan motor died.

Last year it was slowing down and would only operate on the highest speed.

I keep it running all the time.

I like the air quality it produces. The noise level is great.

But don''t expect to have the motor live long enough to need a filter change after five years.

Its now a giant piece of landfill.

Summary: clean air in two rooms for $75 per year plus the cost of electricity.

This should be the comparison figure on all air filters.

I have birds and I was looking for something that helped not only with cleaning the air, but with odors. I have to say, I used to love my Honeywell and was concerned after reading some of the reviews of the other Austin Air models, but I can honestly say I LOVE THIS LITTLE GUY! It''s small and sits out of the way. On low it is not as noisey as the Honeywell was and it really gets the job done. I am very happy. The only drawback and why I hesitate on giving it 5 stars is because it pushes out cold air from the side vent, which wasn''t talked about in anyone''s reviews. It was quickly taken care of by putting a vent diverter, but for a few days I couldn''t figure out where the cold draft was coming from. And with birds, one needs to be careful with that. Well worth the money.

My husband and I have 5 idoor cats and we keep two large litterboxes in the living room. Our living room is fairly large and opens up to the kitchen with vaulted ceilings. The litter boxes are placed behind a long couch next to a wall, this way they are out of view while you are lounging in the living room. Even though I cleaned the boxes daily, the litter would still get funky rather quickly whith five cats using it, and when my husband and I would sit on the couch watching a movie we would catch whifs of the boxes every now and then. And forget about sitting on the long couch behind which the boxes where placed. Another problem with the litter was all the dust it produced. We always worried that if people came over they would smell the boxes and get grossed out, not to mention we didn''t exactly enjoy smelling it either. So I started my research on air purifiers. I finally settled on this one because it seemed to be the best value for the money, you only have to replace the filters every 3-5 years and it filters gas fumes (such as paint or ammonia). We bought this unit about 1 1/2 years ago and I have to give it 5 big stars! I put the unit next to the boxes and have run it at the low setting continuously since we bought it and the air has been wonderful to breathe ever since. I run it on high when I am cleaning or changing the boxes and this really helps with the dust. So About a month ago I started to smell that litter box funk so I became worried that the unit was no longer working, but when I checked the unit I realized that I had accidentially turned it off instead of on low... so I turned it on and within 10 minutes the air was nice again. I received the biggest compliment recently. An aquantance came over yesterday and after talking for a while in the living room she said, "you know, your house smells so clean. In fact, I would never even guess that you have ANY animals, let alone 5 indoor cats and a dog. What kind of litter do you use??" So I pointed out the Healthmate Junior and told her that was my secret weapon. It made me so happy to hear that that I just knew I had to come on Amazon and share my story. I highly, highly reccomend this product to people with indoor animals. The only bad thing is that it works so well that sometimes I slack on cleaning the boxes because I don''t smell them anymore and I don''t think about it as much.

TotalPond MF13005 Pond Pump Pre-Filter Save 25% Off

TotalPond MF13005 Pond Pump Pre-FilterThe product works fine. It seems a little pricey, and I think it should have been included with the original pump purchase.

I use this filter on a three-tier fountain on the inlet side of the submerged pump. The filter comes with a small plastic inner frame that screws into the pump and fits perfectly in Total Pond item numbers DD11210, DD11330, and DD11560 available on-line at Amazon or from The Home Depot. The pre-formed black filter material is an approx 6" long by 3" wide cylinder (about the size and shape of a 1/2 used roll of toilet tissue) and has the general appearance of fabric that might be used in a large pre-filter on a heating system. The filter slips over the frame and stays in place. The filter material is designed to filter out medium or larger debris (spiders, small leaves, and twigs) that would otherwise become sucked into the pump and clog it over time. Without using a pre-filter, I used to replace pumps about every 1.5-2 years (at about $35 per pump, plus a lot of time and effort in taking the fountain apart and re-sealing it). After buying a pre-filter, I am now into my 4th year on the same pump. So, replacing the pre-filter about once a year has made a very positive difference. I use a 1 ounce chlorine pool tab in my fountain to keep the water clear and over time, the chlorine deteriorates the filter to the point where it needs replacing about once a year. Expect to pay about $12 (Amazon) to $19 (The Home Depot). You will need to have clearance for the approx 6" filter to stick out of the front of the pump. Worthwhile accessory. Buy a few at a time and put it on your garden calendar to replace annually.

I first bought an under the counter reverse osmosis water filtration system for my kitchen. After using the system for two months, I decided to get this whole house system, so I could brush my teeth in my bathroom, take a shower, and use any faucet in the house. The water quality is tremendous. It''s like using bottled water to shower or brush my teeth. My wife says her hair is much more manageable after showering with filtered water. I''m definitely happy with this product, and would recommend this product to anyone who is as health-conscious as my wife and myself.

We had a water filtration system installed many years ago that uses salt bags and calcite in our basement. Needed to constantly fill up with salt and once a year fill up with Calcite. Over the years, we got lazy and forgot about filling up the salt tank and even forgot about adding calcite. This system is wonderful. Only need to change filters possibly once a year. The water quality is wonderful. Ice maker makes good tasting clear ice cubes, no more iron taste. We have only had it a couple of months, but are very happy with it. I feel we will save money, no salt bags to buy and it doesn''t use electric. Also, takes up very little space unlike our other system.

This is a great product. I would absolutely buy it again. After installation by a plumber, the water was milky and fizzy, but it cleared up very quickly and has been nice ever since. I highly recommend it.

PUR Advantage Single Replacement Filter

PUR Advantage Single Replacement FilterFor the second time I order CR 1550 and they send me CR1450 it won''t fit in your pitcher. THis just wastes everyone''s time. Don''t waste your time here.

This is the best filter and it fits the best pitcher CRF-1550R. The pitcher is slick and fits your refrigirator easily. It has the right design! You also get the clean water very fast. The best is you always know when to replace it. Brita''s filters do not have this feature any longer. You blindly guessing about what you drink. I switched to PUR because of this. PUR worth every penny you spent.
