Clear2o 1 Pitcher Filter

Clear2o 1 Pitcher FilterI use this on a boat which has a traditional steel faucet. The adapter to plug the hose in with comes with several sizing''s to make this possible. One worked. The pitcher fills quickly and the water is great. We can''t use this in our kitchen which has a big non-traditional faucet head, but otherwise this is easily the best pitcher on the market.

It is worlds faster than any drip pitcher (I have Brita and PUR) and it filters contaminants as well as any consumer grade filter I''ve researched.

I finally found an excellent water replacement filter cartridge that lasts and provides good flow. We''ve a lot a clay where sediment we live and the other filters clog way too easy. The pleated paper ones work best, but the 20 micron rating has held up the best for me. I had 8 people in the house for a total of 4 weeks over the holidays, and I''m on the same filter for 2 months and it''s still going strong. So far, I''m a happy customer.

Honeywell QuietCare 3.0 Gallon Moist Humidifier Save 6% Off

Honeywell QuietCare 3.0 Gallon Moist Humidifier, HCM-635Maybe it''s just that I''ve had allergies and the constant presence of air cleaners all my life, but to me this product emits a perfectly acceptable level of white noise. It capably humidifies my small condo from a central location, helping my hubby''s eczema and my sinuses. Also helps with little annoyances, like staticky hair. I do fear my area''s hard water is prematurely aging the filter, but if I go through more filters, so be it, I think it''s a reasonable price to pay for the comfort the humidifier brings.

If you were looking for a quiet humidifier, this is a falsely advertised and disappointing product. Even after letting it run for 30-60 minutes, this humidifier was too loud, even closing the doors couldn''t mask the loud, grinding, and machine-like sounds of this "humidifier". buyer beware!

H2o Labs Convenient Easy-Fill Model 200 Water Distiller

H2o Labs Convenient Easy-Fill Model 200 Water DistillerI am writing on behalf of my wife Uthrania Seila. We have used this distiller for roughly a week with no complaints or problems to report. My wife is just delighted with it, probably because of the simplicity of operating the machine, and loves its attractive design on her counter.

The coil cooling fan is, like any fan, audible but not irritatingly loud. We doubt anyone can find a distiller of equal quality for the same price.

had it about a week now works Good

pros: easy to set up and use.

better tasting then tap

cons: water picks up the taste of the plastic bin its held in.

not sure why theirs a extra pin hole on the top of collection jug.

you might well say it cost you $0.49 a gallon. when you do the math of the whole ordeal i got robbed.

Most of the water filters you would buy at your local hardware store are rated at 500 gallons when operating at a flowrate of 0.75 GPM, but this one is 2,500 gallons! So this one lasts longer and therefore you do not have to replace it as often. I use this to filter the tap city water for my edible plants; the humans and pets drink spring water. The plants drink so much water, that I can not give them spring water but I really wish I could. Remember plants, like us, are mostly water. This Matrikx +1 filter will remove the chlorine which would sterilize my wonderful organic potting soil and compost. It does not remove radiation or prescription drugs though.

Floatron Natural Pool Cleaner Algae-free No chemicals Save 17% Off

Floatron Natural Pool Cleaner Algae-free No chemicalsI have used this Floatron for over ten years in a twelve-foot aboveground pool in South New Jersey and am very satisfied with its performance. I just left it floating all the time, and it kept the water free of algae and turbidity to the point that I used chlorine only once in Spring after removing the winter tarp, and once more in late Fall before putting the pool cover back on and disconnecting the pump. In all those years, I had to replace the copper electrode twice, at $50.00 or so each time, but I guess chemical treatment would have cost more in money and maintenance time.

The only slight cons are that when my children were younger and practically lived in that pool during the swimming season, their blond hair seemed occasionally to get a slightly greenish tint, and some white T-shirts showed the same coloration, but it was slight and never bothered us. Also, the rubber bumper strip around the Floatron''s circumference came loose and split, and I had to caulk it back into its groove.

Some of that old Floatron''s photocells look discolored now, as if water had leaked into or around them, and last summer I had to use chlorine a couple of times to keep the water clear. I guess therefore that this Floatron has reached the end of its lifespan, and I am replacing it with a new one, but the old one has served us well and fully earned its retirement.

Live in Albuquerque, NM. Have a 15 x 30 feet inground vinyl-lined pool that came w/ the house 10 years ago when we moved in. Sick of chemicals and trying to get the right balance and kill the algae I saw starting to grow. The Floatron (though I didn''t get it from Amazon) came with a 3-month guarantee, so I thought I''d try it through the summer months. It was wonderful. Water feels so good and you don''t smell chemicals. A friend locally said my pool is the only one she will swim in. Only need a trace amount of chlorine to burn off and some baking soda to up the pH from time to time. I recommended this to our neighbor with a gunite pool and a friend w/ an above-ground pool. Both still use it. The friend w/ the above-ground pool said she could never get her water to clear despite the Baquacil (sp?)type products. The Floatron cleared her pool. My husband was skeptical until we gave it a try. We have saved so much money, and I don''t know why this product hasn''t taken pool stores out of business with all their chemicals. The copper ions emitted take care of algae, bacteria, etc. It is so easy to open and close our pool. The copper core lasts us 2 years. A new one just screws in and doesn''t cost a whole lot. e-mail me if you have questions at

Ive had the Floatron in the pool for the last 4 weeks and there is absolutely no sign of algae. The water is crystal clear.

I use 1 3" chlorine tab is the skimmer per week, though Im not sure if its necessary. FYI the pool is above ground 4 x 24.

I''ve had my Floatron for just this season. It''s done a fantastic job. I just let it float all the time. [I do clean (scrape the residue off) the inner core every other week, to make sure the Floatron is operating at full strength. Even so, I know I will *at least* get into next season before I need to replace the core.]

I have an 18''x36'' in-ground pool with steps. I also have four large outdoor dogs that use the pool steps to cool off, although they don''t go beyond the steps (I don''t have the heart to block them from the pool given the mid-to-high 90s temps and high humidity in the summers here.)

Last year, I had to use a lot of chlorine (6-8 3" tablets a week) and clean the pool at least twice a week, and I still had to clear out algae at least every other week.

This year, I''ve had no algae even though I''m using a lot less chlorine (2-4 3" tablets a week) and only clean the pool once a week. Chlorine and baking soda are all I''ve needed. The water is also much easier on the eyes and much more enjoyable to swim in.

I haven''t had problems with any green/staining, but, come to think of it, my friends don''t have blond hair, so that could still be a problem for some.

Overall, I highly recommend this product; it''s definitely worth the cost. It allows you to avoid the cost of dealing with algae, in terms of both chemicals and frustration.

Bought this through Amazon a few months ago. It''s not a toy, don''t know why it''s classified as such. My in-ground pool maintenance was pretty time consuming, running to the pool store and backwashing the filter twice a month and skimming and sweeping, and was costing about $80 a month between the chems and the electric bill. Two days after my Floatron arrived, my pool filter broke. Great, no filter, no pump, no circulation. I thought I was in for the battle of the century with the pool. So I decided to put the Floatron in the pool and see how it does (following instructions, of course). I never expected this little gadget to work so well. I''m in South Florida, and algae had been an occasionally recurring problem. But now, even though I have no circulation and no filter operating, the pool water is clear and it''s actually easier and MUCH cheaper to maintain with Floatron. I have shocked it once in 3 months (instead of weekly), used half the chlorine tabs I used to, no electric used for the pool for all this time, and the water is nicer than it ever was, feels like swimming in rainwater. I estimate it has almost paid for itself in 3 months. Five minutes once a week to clean the Floatron element is easy. So far, I''m very happy.

Toddy T2N Cold Brew System Save 18% Off

Toddy T2N Cold Brew SystemThis thing makes the most wonderful coffee. I am an admitted coffee snob but was suffering from the acid in the coffee I drank. It all ended with this set up. It makes great coffee that is so darn much easier on your system.

It is not without its minor flaws, however. It is a bit more expensive to make coffee this way. Clean up is a bit difficult. The rim of the plastic upper part could be an inch taller.

I am going to tell how I approached each of those problems, it seems to work well for me.

In using the full pound of coffee and 72 ounces of water called for (It soaks for 12 hours per instructions) the top container is filled to the very brim...water and grounds are easily spilled over the top when pressing the grounds down (again per instructions) to assure uniform wetness.

I now use about 75% of a pound of coffee and 90% of the water called for. I place a #4 basket filter over the round Toddy filter to make for a better flow at the end of the process. I leave it all for about 30 hours and it is at least as strong as that obtained by following the instructions provided. Remember...this is not an exact science! I get more cups of coffee per pound this way and also have much easier clean up and less mess in the making. With the coffee and water mixture about an inch below the top of the container, one simply does not make the spills normally encountered.

When done, I let the concentrate run into the carafe per instructions, but then press the outsides of the grounds and then the center to get all the concentrate out...I do this twice. A surprising amount of extra concentrate is saved in this fashion. I then remove the carafe, place a plastic bag over the top of upper unit and invert it into the bag. The round filter is right at the top and I can easily pick it out.

In the sink I have placed a very large bowl (I use a stainless one) and rinse the parts that need it into the bowl. The grounds do not get away or get down my drain. When done I can just toss the bowl of water and grounds rinsed from the filter, etc. into my back yard and the clean up is basically complete.

I have been using the Toddy for more than 2 years and here are some tips and tricks.

1. You don''t have to use 16 oz of coffee to make great tasting cold brew. Fresh dark roast beans do make a difference. I tried pre-ground from a bag and it was so-so, pre-ground from a can had no taste at all.

2. Anything less than 12 oz will cause the lower glass container to overflow when you drain the upper plastic "brew" container.

3. Simply put in 12 to 16 oz of ground coffee like this:

a. 2 cups water before you put in any coffee

b. 6 8 oz ground coffee

c. 3 cups water slowly all around the ground coffee

d. 6 8 oz ground coffee

e. fill slowly to the top making sure to cover all of the grounds.

4. No mater how much coffee you use, anything between 12 and 16 oz, you will almost always have to tap on the top of the grounds with a spoon. This cause the water to rise and soak the dry spots in the grounds. It is helpful to do your tapping before you fill the Toddy to the top. DO NOT STIR the grounds this will clog the filter. You can slowly lower a spoon into the grounds, with the flat of the spoon, and slowly pull up, but do not stir.

5. You can put in a regular industrial size coffee filter along with the regular Toddy sponge like filter to ease clean up, but it does create more compostable waste. Regular coffee filters are too small.

6. I used to reuse the grounds immediately, by putting the coffee solution in another container and then adding water to the already wet grounds, with the plug in of course. Then I waited 12 more hours and doubled my yield. I no longer do this because it made too much coffee and it just sat in the fridge for too long.

7. Let your coffee "steep" cold, of course, for more than 12 hours, say 14, 16, 18 hours, and the caffeine and oil content will increase for a more flavorful cup. After a couple of years, I started going for 24 hours and it makes it even more flavorful.

8. After cleaning up, wet the sponge filter and store it in a plastic food safe bag in the fridge.

9. Tell your family members what the filter is so that they don''t throw it away thinking that it is a molding chunk of cheese ;0)

Now you can taste that smell!

Let me explain: I can''t call myself a coffee addict, but I really enjoy a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I''m a little let down when I walk into a cafe, smell the rich aroma, then taste a cup of coffee that''s either weak, bitter or just too strong. The smell doesn''t match the taste, and that''s a bummer.

With the Toddy system however, even though I don''t get the rich smell of fresh-brewed coffee in the morning, I do get a taste that reminds me of that smell, and that''s far more important. Better still, my girlfriend can make her coffee weaker than mine by simply adding less concentrate. Cups of coffee tailored specifically to your taste!

I''ve tried espresso makers, french press, auto drip and even (dare I say it) instant coffee, and french press is the only type that comes close to the rich flavor. But that said, as I get older (early thirties) acid content becomes a bigger issue for me, and the relatively low acid content in a cup from the Toddy system is more and more appealing.

Now, as much as I like the system I do have a couple of gripes. First, I wish the brewing process was a little more intuitive since it''s time consuming and messy. I brewed my coffee almost a week ago, and I''m still finding grounds hidden here and there. Hence, I wish the brew portion into which the grounds go had a lid.

Second, though it''s easy to figure out through trial and error, a chart in the manual with more detail info on ratios, coffee types and strengths would be helpful. For example, I used Eight O''Clock coffee (I know, it''s not designer coffee, but it tastes pretty good) which isn''t quite as full-flavored a roast as some other coffees. Hence, I find I need to add more concentrate to water. I''m curious what the concentrate will be like when I use a stronger/different roast.

Nonetheless, I gave the Toddy system 5 out of 5 because when it''s all said and done, a brewer is about the cup of coffee it produces, and hands down this is the best cup of coffee I''ve ever made at home.

I have been making iced coffee the cold brew way for a few months with two jars and a strainer. Since I consume so much, I thought I would give the famed Toddy system a try surely so many people couldn''t be wrong. Boy, am I sorely disappointed! I open the package and all you get is a cheap plastic pitcher and a glass carafe. $30 for this is way overpriced! Even so, the price would be fine if it did anything different or better than my makeshift system but it is actually worse, way worse!!! Here are my reasons:

1) The cheap plastic brew container has NO COVER and a FLIMSY STAND. I am going to leave an open, wobbly container full of coffee concentrate on my countertop for 12 hours, does this sound like a good idea? Does it sound sanitary? Unless your house is like a museum, probably not. By contrast my $2 jars have lids imagine that.

2) The filters are so sensitive you cannot stir the grounds and water together to fully soak the grounds. What genius designed this filter? They expect you to go through a delicate dance where you add a few grounds, slowly pour the water in a circular pattern, add some more grounds, slowly add some more water, etc. All so the filter doesn''t CLOG. Who has time for this!? By contrast, when I put water and coffee grounds into my $2 jar, I drop it in and stir with a spoon imagine that! My $1 strainer and 10 cent regular coffee filter removes all the grounds/residue and leaves me with pure concentrate.

3) You have to keep buying their filters and they aren''t cheap! Nowhere had I seen that you had to keep buying their filters they cost $2 each and you can only use them 10 times! And you most likely will end up ordering them over the internet, where you will have to pay shipping. They might end up costing $4 each! Why wouldn''t I just keep using my $1 strainer and 10 cent coffee filters, which works just fine and are easier to get!?

4) Their filters require a lot of care. Every time you use them you have to go through some ridiculous process of storing them in a zip lock bag in the fridge. Again, who the heck has time for this?! My $1 strainer takes 5 seconds to rinse and then I stick it on the drying rack and the 10 cent filter I just throw out!

All in all I am very disappointed with the Toddy system. Not only is it way overpriced, but it is worse than a $5 makeshift alternative. I am using the carafe because I might as well and the brew container is now used in my son''s bath...

I hope this helps people to see the light about this product.

This makes, quite simply, the best coffee you''ve had in your life. Make it any way you want--hot, cold, espresso strength, American strength. I started with expensive coffees but am now quite happily using Folger''s Special Roast. The cold-brew process makes delicious coffee even with the cheap stuff. I have become something of a cold-brew-coffee snob: I only drink toddy coffee at home, and when I''m out and forced to drink regular hot-brewed coffee, I cringe and can never finish a whole cup. This is literally a life-changing brewing method. The plastic handle they now include, while not absolutley necessary, is a nice bonus. ONE IMPORTANT THING: don''t follow the instructions included as far as the technique for making the coffee, namely, 2 cups then 5 cups then 2 cups water added in stages. Instead, do 3 cups 3 cups 3 cups. When I used the 2-5-2 method, the thing would get clogged every single time, which is a real problem when you''re dealing with a large quantity of coffee concentrate. Using the 3-3-3 method, I haven''t had a clog or a slow "bleed" once; coffee comes pouring out as if from a firehose once I pull the stopper. I also ensure no dry grounds by, about an hour after initial setup, scraping coffee up from around the edge of the brewer into a pile in the middle, leaving behind a ring of already-dampened grounds at the sides; then I add another 1/2-1 cup of water, pouring it on the pile in the middle so that the grounds level out again and the brewer is really _full_. I''ve found the Holy Grail of coffee makers and I won''t look back my life long.

Medelco 12 Cup Millennium Style Carafe Save 16% Off

Medelco 12 Cup Millennium Style Carafe, BlackWe broke our carafe on our old Gevalia C-60A coffee maker. It''s not a common model, and we almost bought a new coffee maker because of the hassle of finding a replacement. However, took a gamble and bought this carafe, though our model wasn''t listed as working with this carafe and it fits!!

You''ll need to use the short lid adapter, included in package. The fit was still a little tight, though workable my husband got creative though, and shaved a millimeter off the top of the plastic lid with an exacto knife. Now it fits in place perfectly! Giving all 5 stars to product, though, since the company didn''t advertise it as fitting our coffee maker and isn''t responsible for our shenanigans with sharp pointy objects.

Its dimensions are as follows: Height with Tall Lid: 6.63", Height with Short Lid: 6.01", Diameter of Pot: 5.98", Diamater of Base of Pot: 4". Check the product fit list on Medelco''s website if you''re not sure if your coffee pot will work with this model (can''t post due to review guidelines, but it''s easy to find via Google).

Fits my Hamilton Beach Michael Graves coffee maker fine, but I wish the original carafe was still available. It is easier to clean, though, so that''s a huge plus.

We purchased this model since it was the only replacement carafe for our Kitchen Selectives coffee maker. It works very well in that capacity. My complaints are these:

1. The lid does not snap on easily and will fall off as you''re pouring if it is not.

2. The cup markers on the side are incorrect. Twelve is about 3/4 the way up the pot, but you have to nearly fill it to make twelve cups.

3. The design of the lid and handle allows steam/hot air from the pot to escape near the handle. If you''re pouring, it will burn your fingers. I''ve learned how to hold it so that doesn''t happen, but it isn''t how one would naturally grasp a coffee pot.

The product itself is okay, but it does NOT fit the Gevalia CM500 coffee pot as stated. This replacement carafe comes up in Amazon when you search for a replacement for the Gevalia CM500. Also the provided link to the actual Medelco website states that the Medelco Model GL312 should fit the Gevalia CM500 but it does not. It is too tall even when using the short lid. The product itself seems fine, I am only writing this to prevent anyone else from ordering this for their Gevalia maker.

KitchenAid 12-Cup Glass Carafe Coffee Maker Save 20% Off

KitchenAid 12-Cup Glass Carafe Coffee MakerWe bought this KitchenAid coffee maker to replace our beloved Cuisinart one that we''d had for about 4 years. I was hesitant to switch brands but we''ve always had good luck with KitchenAid and so far, this coffee maker doesn''t disappoint. I really like the removable water reservoir for cleaning purposes. It''s generally easy to set for morning brewing (though admittedly, it took me a few tries to get it right I did find the Cuisinart easier to set initially). I like the "bold" brewing feature. And I like the blue lit display.

All in all this has proven to be a reliable, attractive, and overall solid coffee maker that I would recommend to others.

"ok guys and gals, here is my story, i''ve been using a black and decker space saver coffee maker mainly because of the removable water tank. the carafe drizzled coffee alll over the counter, the water tank could not be set full of water over nite in the maker because the water would leak out at the seal. and it made some incredibly weak coffee. but i trudged through because i don''t like the idea of pouring water into the most of the time tiny opening most manufacturers give you. all i can see is that i''m usually pretty messy anyway, so pictures of water all over the counter. and i didn''t and don''t want that. hence i wanted a pot that offered the fill in the sink. so back to the old maker, so i used the b&d for not quite a year and when you "sneak " a cup it drip drip drip coffee onto the hot plate, which now has caused the hot plate to rust out. i had almost gotten to the point of not wanting to make coffee... and i love me some coffee. so when i saw this coffee maker offered by kitchenaid, and saw that it was brand new design, and it had no reviews yet, i was very hesitant to purchase it. so much so that i have been several weeks trying to decide if i would risk it. i mean 80 bucks is 80 bucks. if it was 20 i might have risked it earlier. so anyway, i finally decided to throw some money at it and see if it would actually work. and guys, AWESOME. i love it. i only have to use half as much coffee beans and the coffee comes out way stronger than the b&d ever dreamed of. if this coffee maker lasts as long as it looks like it will then i will truly be one very happy coffee drinker. only time will tell. if i remember i''ll try to come back in a few months and do any update review, but so far i would have to say this is very much money well spent. maranatha"

*** ok, two week update... it is still awesome. the carafe pours without putting coffee on the countertop, which is awesome. when i sneak a cup while it is brewing there is no leakage, which is awesome, the temperature is extremely hot, i cut my coffee with milk so after getting the ingredients mixed the temperature is perfect. after brewing when you open the lid to clean out the old grounds it does have condensation go onto the lid for the water resevoir, but to me that is no big deal. the bold setting on the coffee gets the full flavor out of the beans. the removable water resevoir, as of this date shows no sign of leaking. so as of this update, two weeks out, i''m still on the "i recommend this coffee maker to everybody who drinks coffee, it is awesome" oh i see a guy gave this thing 3 stars, this is his only review, which to me sounds kind of odd, maybe he works for the competition. so if you are in the market for a new coffee maker, i highly recommend this one. oh and btw, i drink two pots of coffee every day, so my coffee pot gets well used. will update later on down the road if i remember

***** 9 MONTH UPDATE ***** still awesome, still glad i have it, and i still recommend it and confirm everything i have said up to this point. this is my last update on this unless something really wierd happens.

This is a good coffee maker with a very pleasing design. It is, however, the most water retaining coffee maker I have ever had. I love that the water tank is removable, and it''s a good thing that it is because there''s always a little puddle of water left in it that needs to be drained. The carafe is a nice weight and does not leak coffee as you pour. But it also retains liquid because the heavy black lip around the top allows liquid to seep underneath. This measns when you pour the coffee or when you rinse it out with water, there is no way the last bit will be removed. That darn seal will hold on to some every time you tilt to pour. The top of the coffee maker has two lids which can''t be opened at the same time. One lid reveals the coffee filter. The inside of this lid puddles up so much that it needs to be wiped dry if you are one who likes to set the coffee maker the night before. Otherwise it will leak down on to your dry coffee grounds. The other lid is the top of the water tank. This is the only coffee maker I''ve had that will not allow both areas to be opened at the same time for air drying purposes. Since the water tank is removable, this is not a major issue. I like KitchenAid products and this machine makes a good cup of coffee. If dealing with left over water is of no concern, I would recommend this product.

I bought this coffee pot as a temporary replacement (while I wait on a part for my Cuisinart Grind/Brew so I can go back to that one). It was the least expensive "decent" coffeepot that was available in the store for immediate purchase at BB & B. I was intrigued by the KitchenAid brand, as I know their large kitchen appliances are good (my mom has used them forever), but I had never seen a coffee pot by them. We have had several Cuisinart coffee makers over the years and they are good, but most have needed replacement after about 2-3 years. So, anyway, I got this machine home and went online to see the reviews (this was the one machine that I had NOT already read the reviews on before going to the store) and was worried after reading all the horror stories about the leaking and mess. But, hubby needed his coffee at 4:30 this morning, so I went ahead and opened it up to give it a shot. I read the manual and took it out of the box, removed the packaging stuff and set it on the counter. I washed the stuff you are supposed to and when I went to rinse the carafe, I think I stumbled on something that might be causing some of those other reviewers a problem. I filled the carafe at the sink just as if the machine were dripping coffee into the top of the carafe lid. (A medium/small drizzle of water directly onto the "bubble" top of the carafe.) It was an interesting experiment that demonstrated that if the carafe was not almost perfectly level, or the water didn''t flow almost directly straight onto the middle of the bubble top, then it ran off the sides of the carafe lid. So I wonder... if perhaps some of those folks have a countertop that is slightly less than level. I know in our first home, I had countertops that were not level. Not noticeable most of the time, but it would have probably been enough to cause this issue with this pot. Also, after paying careful attention to that, and seeing that the depressed area around the "bubble" of the lid is rather small and that the REST of the lid is completely flat I set the carafe into the coffee maker. And noticed that if you don''t have the handle oriented to the direct front of the machine (if it is turned to either side) it pushes the pot out just slightly enough that the proper angle is not achieved with the bubble top and the bottom of the brew basket.... in other words, the coffee will end up dripping off to the side of the bubble enough that it will run off the lid (because it will flow outside the little depression around the bubble). If the handle is to the front, then the coffee flows straight down onto the top of the bubble thingee and it works perfectly.

I also practiced (can''t believe I am even typing this) pouring from the carafe over the sink with just water as I was washing/rinsing the carafe. There was not one single drip. No matter how fast or slowly I poured. So I don''t understand the problem others are having. Maybe after some use the carafe seal will become damaged or something, but for now, I couldn''t ask for anything more!

I ran the original water only cycle to rinse/clean the machine for first time use. Then set it up for a pot of coffee. Hubby turned it on this morning in the wee hours (like 5 a.m.) and then after making his cup, poured the rest into the thermal carafe (from our Cuisinart) so it would stay warm for me, since I wasn''t going to be up until closer to 8:00 a.m. He didn''t leave it on the warmer at all... just straight into the carafe. I poured my first cup around 8:45 a.m. this morning and it was still hot. :)) And tasted pretty good... I will have to tweak it a little, but that is the amount of grounds to use, not an issue with the coffee pot itself. Anyone who says it isn''t hot, must have a different machine that what was inside our box.

As for dripping/leaks from the carafe... I guess only time will tell. But I had NO water or coffee anywhere except in the carafe where it belongs.

So, make sure your counter is level, and make sure you orient the carafe into the machine with the handle in the front (not to the sides) and I don''t think you should have any problems. I think it works great! And was certainly worth the $68 I paid for it (after the BB&B 20% off coupon).

I''ve read all the comments here and think some people may have missed the point: It Brews Great Coffee! Much better than any other maker I''ve found (except maybe for a worn out Krups I found at a vacation rental unit at the beach). Yes, it has a wide carafe so if you pour too fast the coffee comes out in a wider stream than the cup can catch. Yes, the condensation that occurs on the bottom of the lid means that when you lift the lid to put in a new filter you get some water dribbled onto the top at the back. Yes, it drips slow on the "BOLD" setting, because that allows the water to pick up more flavor out of the grounds as it passes through. Yes, it leaves some water in the bottom of the reservoir. I''ve always assumed that is probably because it has a charcoal filter at the bottom in a little well, and it needs to stay moist. But since the reservoir is removable, if you don''t like this then pour it out. This KitchenAid brews really great coffee! So my advice is: pour slower; wipe up the condensation; don''t worry about the water at the bottom, and be more patient while you wait for the Bold coffee to brew. I turn it on then go out to get the paper off the driveway. It will be done when I get back. I have had one of these machines for more than a year, and I''m now buying another one for my second home because while I''m here I miss not having really great coffee. The maker that I have here now doesn''t drip, pour funny, or leave water in the bottom, but neither does it make the kind of coffee I''ve become accustomed to with my KitchenAid. Did I mention it brews really great coffee?

Hayward PSV3SM 3-Way External Thread Diverter Valve Save 22% Off

Hayward PSV3SM 3-Way External Thread Diverter Valve, CPVC MaterialI already owned one, so when my Pool Man reinstalled my 2" lines, he moved

my 1st Hayward Valve over to my Inputs, (Drain & Filter) to better control

the flow mix to my Pump.. I had also ordered a New Hayward Heater..

so when my pool man just piped my Filter Output to the Heater..

I needed a new 3-Way.. to avoid sending powdered Chlorine into the Heater Copper Tubes all the time. This unit does the job perfectlyto bypass the heater most of the year

A Bonus,, the unit quickly unbolts, so that I can adjust everything.

I also took the Valve Lever off,& spray-painted the lower triangle surface openings 1-side Green; the other Red,, with the protuding one left White Which provides an instant indication to my Pool Services, just what the

setup is.. Since I kept my 1st Hayward filter & added a Larger Filter

.. to give me more days between backwashing the (2)Cartridges.

I also got the Threaded version (Cheaper& better to install.). since it

means I don''t permanently cement into the Valves, but use 2" pieces

to more easily fit into my system upgrades, later allow the threaded

pipes to unscrew.. My old system had many junctions cemented. Now I can more easily adjust the systems layouts as desired.

Also very fast 2 day Amazon Service.. Tho they repackaged the original

WaterSafe Water Test Kit for Lead Save 18% Off

WaterSafe Water Test Kit for LeadI''ve never personally tested water from the tap from any of the places where I lived, but there''s a first for everything so I purchased this Lead test kit to test the tap water at my current place of residence. This kit comes with a vial for the water sample, a pipette used to obtain the correct amount of water to be tested and finally the test strip which will show the results of the test. Everything comes in a sealed aluminized pouch.

This kit is only good for one test so if you mess up, the results will be invalid. The most important step when doing the water test is to only fill the vial with ONE pipette full of the water sample. I was tempted to fill the vial the easy way by putting it directly into the water stream from the faucet, fortunately for whatever reason I decided to reread the instructions which states to only use one pipette full of the water sample being tested. The test takes about 4 minutes for the results to fully appear. You basically put the test strip into the vial containing the water sample and just let it sit there undisturbed for 4 minutes. In my test the results were very clear and was negative.

As far as testing water for lead, this product seems to do a good job. If one follows the instructions correctly (ie. you don''t need to load the sample vile with very much water), this product is almost fool proof. I say almost because it can be difficult to read the difference between a positive and negative result the way the colour system works.

This is a single lead test stick. It likely cost $0.10 to make. Yet they charge $11 and -worst of all -it simply doesn''t work. They have three possible outcomes: 1) no lead; 2) lead; and 3) sorry -didn''t work. But no refund policy and no replacement.

Short story, shorter: don''t buy it.

This test is the best i found because the results are instant (well with in a few minutes). So many of the tests I looked at buying in stores were the type where you had to swab the test surface and then mail the swab to a lab, pay a $10 lab fee, and get your results weeks later. This instant test is so much easier and faster.

StoneTech RS4-1G Restore Ceramic Tile and Grout Cleaner, 1-Gallon
  • Highly concentrated acidic cleaner and etching solution which restores ceramic tile and grout
  • Professional strength, acidic formula renews your tile and grout
  • Provides coverage for up to 8,000 square feet
  • Safe and biogradable; produces no hazardous vapors
  • Can be used as an etching material for masonry and marble

I purchased this item to try and restore the grout on my floor. It was recommended by my granite installer. It really didn''t work and where it did try and work it left it spotty. And by all means don''t let it even touch any stainless steel. It leaves spots that do not come off even if you remove it immediatly. Very upsetting, especially when you just remodeled a kitchen and have a new sink and range that are stainless and are now stained from this product. They do warn you about this problem and tell you to wipe it off immediatly, just don''t let it touch any stainless.

We are preparing to sell our house, and purchased this product to clean the grout. Our tiles are white, and we thought the grout was originally a light gray. Guess what?? It''s white!

The product is easy to mix (1 part water/1 part cleaner), and we applied it to the grout with a small scrub brush. Applying it to one area at a time, we simply went back over it with a wet sponge, later followed by a quick mopping. Our tile & grout truly look brand new, and they are nearly 13 years old!!

I do recommend gloves, long pants, and long sleeves. The cleaner is acidic, and therefore it''s not a good idea to get it on your skin.
