Sprite Chrome Original Hand Held Shower Filter

Sprite Chrome Original Hand Held Shower FilterAm I the only one to receive a defective shower head? The clasp to hold head does not fit and the shower head is always very loosely suspended. Because of that it can fall easily. Last night it fell and broke. The shower head is now irreparable. I am disappointed that the item that I received does not appear to be the same quality as what others have received and reviewed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

This Sprite shower head has lots of advantages:

Easy to install, with understandable directions.

No more chlorine smell and feel to the skin.

Good pressure.

Excellent for use during shower clean-up, since you can move it around.

Did I mention that it was dead easy to put in?

Shower filter works great, no leaks & makes our long hair soft! Very happy with it & received it quickly.

The chrome finish is attractive, the adjustable showerhead settings are what you would expect from any other brand, the filtration does not affect the water pressure (my water pressure improved, but I don''t know if that would be the same for everybody), AND you get filtered shower water! It''s a no-brainer.

The installation was easy. I set aside a whole afternoon, thinking it would be a nightmare to do the install.... It took 10 minutes. I totally recommend this, it''s a great product.

I bought 2 of these last November (this is February) and both were installed and put into use. We were happy with them until last night when my flatmate, during her shower (when the device was in its holder on the wall) fell and hit her on the head. The chrome holder had broken, and examination of the broken piece showed that it was made of plastic! As I say, but for the lump on my friend''s head, it was fine.... (these were bought from Amazon, where I buy practically everything else, but this breakage appeared to be a manufacturing defect.)

Item showed up just as described and went right into our RO system.

One suggestion tho you (SHOPZEUS) may want to ask Costco not to include how much YOU paid for the item on the packing slip that came in the box. That way your customers will not know that you''ve marked up the item almost 100%

Watts Premier is a premium RO filtration system. Its the maintenance that can become costly. Check other places, you will find that they cannot match the price for high quality replacement filters. I have used these filters for several years and I am extremely satisfied.

Seems like it will work fine. It was a good price, less then manufactures site, and I will buy again, thanks,

  • 6 ft. extra reach hose
  • Euro-styled hand held design with 10 different shower massage settings offer pulse, spray, and water saving options
  • The complete Thera Shower system includes: Handheld Shower massager, 3 Aromatherapy Cartridges, 1 Water Filtration Cartridge, Showerhead mounting bracket, 6 ft Extra-Reach Hose, and Easy to Follow Instructions

In my opinion, this is the best shower head I have ever used. I bought one when they first came out but eventually the plastic hook broke because of continuous use. I just bought another one. We have city water with a high chlorine content which had a tendency to dry out my skin and hair. It would also burn my eyes while showering. The filters in the Thera Shower head removes a great portion of the chlorine so my hair remains soft & shiny and my skin remains soft without having to use moisturizers. I like removing the shower head and using it to make cleaning the shower and bath faster and easier. It also came in handy a few years ago when I had hip surgery and had to use a shower stool to bathe. The shower head has a very long hose which made it easier to bathe and wash my hair while using the shower stool. I strongly recommend this product for anyone with sensitive skin and anyone with special bathing needs due to disabilities.

I luv this shower head... I is very powerful for the price with 6 settings !!! I have purchased more expensive shower heads & they had a weak water flow & less settings, some also broke very easily. So i keep coming back to this brand as I have moved to a new home & also i got one for my mom because of the quality & reliability even the hose is a lot longer than the other models, finally i always thought it was very cool to have the filter & aroma therapy beads in the handle... The Therma=Spa is a great buy & I recommend it to anyone who needs to replace a showerhead or just wants more settings & the flexibilty of a hand held shower head. The install is very easy I can''t say enough about this product but I will end this review with the word thoroughly satisfied.

Good for the money. Filters the water and has the off setting that I have been looking for. The hose is long enough to clean the whole shower as well. Not really fond of the aromatherapy cartridges (easily removable) but I bought for the filter and off switch.

I have owned this shower head for a couple of years now. I''ve always loved handheld showerheads so when I found this one for so cheap with aromatherapy I had to try it. It is REALLY EASY to install, I was able to put it up and take a shower before my husband got home from work. I love the filtered water, it makes the shower seem so much more refreshing whether or not you use the aromatherapy cartriges. The aroma therapy is mild and not overwhelming, which I really enjoy most of the time, sometimes I wish it were a bit stronger(even fresh out of the package).

I only have 2 complaints:

1. The dial area that adjusts the showerhead has popped up and caused the showerhead to leak

2. The plastic piece that screws into the pipe broke after about 6 months (Which really wasn''t a big deal they sell identical parts at homedepot for $5)

Overall this is a great product for a great price and I would recommend to anyone that they should buy it! I am thinking about buying 2 more so I can replace the worn out one and put one in the other bathroom.

Philips Saeco HD8327/47 Poemia Top Espresso Machine Save 1% Off

Philips Saeco HD8327/47 Poemia Top Espresso Machine, Stainless SteelI am a steam espresso machine user who was forced to shop around when the quality of the product diminished in recent years. Our biggest reason for replacing a machine is it quits frothing milk, despite vinegar or cleaning or steaming through the wand after finishing with the milk frothing. I learned since starting the latte/cappacino process that I perhaps didn''t run enough steam through it when finished, but the steam machines have limited capacity before water and steam run out unless you refill. I rarely had time for that.

I tried a pump espresso machine a couple years ago and didn''t care for the taste--the coffee was too weak and I didn''t like how it steamed milk. So recently I tried a Saeco Via Venezia which was okay--the coffee tasted bitter, though I tried a different grind and it was some better. But for the money I felt it wasn''t worth it, so returned it after a week of trying.

Having second thoughts about going back to the steam machine, I noticed this machine is cheaper and read that the internal components are the same as some of the Saeco models. So I tried this and it''s working for us. The housing is cheaper but I don''t care. It''s smaller than some which works for my space. And one can tell by how it pumps espresso it is as good as the more expensive ones (including the Via Venezia I tried).

A con for me is the steaming wand. I don''t like it as well as the Via Venezia black plastic one because we like more foam and air in our milk. The factory wand is good enough, but I decided to buy a black plastic turbo frother (same as comes on Via Venezia) to see if it would fit the tube. It does and gets the milk exactly like we want it (more foam). Disadvantage is it hangs even lower so you can''t fit a pitcher under it. I am elevating my machine (or you could rotate it and have the pitcher come up at the edge of the counter). For me it''s worth it and I had to elevate my steam machine for the same reason. This steam tube doesn''t articulate up and down, just side to side, but for me it''s not an issue.

So, I tried Ascaso Basic and don''t care for it--maybe I didn''t use it correctly? I tried Saeco Via Venezia and it''s fine--works the same as this but has frothing wand on the left side, water tank isn''t too accessible (but is bigger), and has more stainless steel. I think its portafilter is chrome plated brass (heavier, "better"). It''s wider and harder to move around/takes up more space.

This Saeco Poemia is narrower, lighter, plastic housing plated with stainless so looks nice but is "cheaper." The internal components are the same but the portafilter is, I guess, stainless (lighter weight). However, I do not see a difference and like what this puts out just fine. It is as good at least as the Via Venezia''s output. The top lid that covers the water container easily bounces off if you touch it but goes back on quickly (instead of being hinged). And the front drip tray comes off easily IF you bump it, but again goes back easily. To me, these factors are just things to learn about using it, not disadvantages, because I like the lighter weight and size of it!

IN SUMMARY: We are 4 oz./cup steam espresso users who couldn''t get enough punch in our coffees with some pump machines, but don''t care to resort to nonpressurized portafilters that require tamping and talent to "dial in a shot." That''s over the top for us, so I got a pressurized portafilter and fill it with less than 2 scoops, tamp it lightly (very) with the included scoop/tamp, and brew. We end up with maybe 3 or 3.5 ounces per coffee cup and can steam plenty of milk for each of us. I use a 12 oz. pitcher for my cup but might need the space of the 20 oz. for my husband''s larger coffee cup.

The advantage to these pump machines is they have tanks of water, so no more sweating about limited steam production or time. The advantage to this Poemia is the reliable Saeco boiler and components. If you find the frothed milk isn''t "frothed" enough (playing with it by raising it closer to the surface of the milk then back lower increases froth quantity), you can nab a turbo frother for Saeco/Gaggia (Saeco/Gaggia Pannarello (1230)Product No.: SA227431350) for about $10 to $20. Even if you buy that, this machine is cheaper than ones that cost a hundred+ more.

NOTE: It is important to release the water from the steam wand first, then froth milk, or you get water in it that dilutes it. Just steam into an empty container for a few seconds to vent the water. Also, if you steam milk first, then brew coffee, be sure to run steam a few seconds until the steam light is out. This is called temperature surfing and lowers the boiler''s temperature to brew temp so it''s just right. Always run steam through the steam wand after finished steaming milk, until water runs out, to refill the boiler, because steaming empties it. (Read section 4.5 of the owner''s manual about refilling the boiler.) These steps just take a few seconds, once you learn them, and keeps the boiler from being drained and damaged.

This is a great espresso machine on a budget. I previously got a De''Longhi BAR32 Retro and returned it after a week of struggling to get good espresso trying any kind of tamping and grounding techniques. The Poemia is so much better. The key is that the portafilter is pressurized and there is no need to tamp the coffee grounds precisely. There is a valve that automatically opens when the pressure is optimal for brewing. The espresso comes out with great crema. I was able to even make the so called ''long espresso'' (running the machine until I get 5-6 ounces instead of 2-3) while still keeping great taste and crema.

The user manual contains an error in the description how to prepare the machine for first use or after a prolonged period of non use. It says to lock only the portafilter without the coffee grounds basket and run the machine until it is out of water. This of course will not seal the filter and the hot water will spray out of the filter. The coffee grounds basket has to be inside the portafilter.

Lets hope this thing will last, I will update the review if something happens.

UPDATE 9/19/2012.

I got a used Saeco (or Starbucks) non pressurized portafilter from eBay. It turned out I like it more this way. I no longer use the original pressurized filter. Either way the espresso I''m getting is still better that the one from the De''Longhi BAR32 I tried and returned.

We have owned numberous espresso machines including Starbucks Barista (Seaco), a couple of DeLonghi''s, and a couple of Cuisinart EM-100''s.

This is a much smaller unit than either the Barista or the Cuisinart. It''s much more like a DeLongi as it has a small water reservoir and has a faux stainless finish plastic case.

It uses a lighter weight Saeco pressurized portafilter than the Starbucks Barista. Unfortunately, their is practically no crema. Our backup Philip Senseo makes better crema.

Disappointed for the price, but will keep it for a vacation home unit to make cheap lattes as the foamer wand works well.

This is my first Espresso Machine. My wife and I decided to go with the Poemia after watching and reading countless reviews, this was clearly the best option for the entry level machine, considering our budget.

We got home, did the first use cycle and prepared. We were able to froth our first pitcher with no issues or complications thanks to the Panarello steam wand and we pulled our first shot, which turned out to be pretty easy and good. We didn''t even add sugar to that first cappuccino as it was really good by itself. Since the Panarello does all the frothing work for you, when using the right sized pitcher, the clearance from the wand to the counter shouldn''t be a problem.

We pulled a couple of more drinks for the family and everybody seemed to enjoy it very much.

My only complain might be that the passive cup-warmer doesn''t get hot enough until after a couple of uses, but this was expected and is really not a major problem at all. As other reviewers note, the dip tray does have a loose connection from the rest of the machine, but the bright side is this makes it easy to take off and clean.

This turned out to be a great purchase and a whole lot of fun.

Want Philips Saeco HD8327/47 Poemia Top Espresso Machine Discount?

After my cheaper espresso machine broke down, I decided to upgrade to a better one. I did my research and liked the reviews for the Saeco, and that it has the same internal parts as the more expensive units. So, I''ve been using it for a few days now (I will update the review if need be).

The machine looks good and it was well packaged. The instructions are OK, but not intuitive plus they''re translated from another language. If you''ve used one of these before, it''s the same procedures, so don''t fret.

First, the on/off switch hides in the back of the unit, which is a totally inconvenient place. It took me a minute to find it, because I put the unit against my kitchen wall on the counter and I was looking at it to find out how it turns on after I plugged it in! Now, I have to move the unit forward and back every time I have to flip the switch. This could be a deal breaker if combined with the other flaws.

Is this machine supposed to stay on for hours? I don''t think so, because the machine preps the water to high temp & builds steam ready for use. Do you want to have a machine ready all the time? What would this do to the parts inside if it''s all the time? I don''t know. Placing the switch to the back of the unit might make someone think that "flip it and forget about it"....

Second, I found that it''s best to wait a bit more after the green light comes on before you switch to making your coffee. The temp/pressure are better thus. Also, before you steam your milk, run it for a few seconds as the first stuff that comes out is water only and this will definitely dilute your milk. So, collect this water in something and throw it out. The frothing is decent, after a little practice, but I''m still concerned (because I tested it) with water not steam being put into the milk. Maybe the machine needs an extra moment after the green light comes on for steaming so it gets really hot to vaporize the water and deliver only steam.

The coffee pod/container/base have to be cleaned after each use. There''s extra watered coffee dripping out after you''ve done getting your espresso, especially if you also use the steamer. I mean, you don''t have to, but there will be watery stuff in the base that collects it. It''s easy to pull the base off and give it a rinse.

The steam-froth part moves from side to side, not up-down, and it has a very low clearance, which makes it more difficult to use many milk containers for steaming milk. I steam very small quantity in a small cup so it''s OK for me but if you want to steam more milk for lattes you have to find another way. Because it does not swing out enough (or slightly up) it''s not convenient to slide the milk container underneath for steaming. Really bad design here.

Another miss is that the top cover over the water and tamper isn''t hinged. So, you have to remove it and place it somewhere, and when you put it back, it goes only one way as it''s not even on all sides. Cheaper coffee makers have hinged top covers. Flip it, get the tamper, close it. Easy, but not this one. Not a biggie, but at this price, I expected a better design here too.

The most important thing though is that this machine makes great espresso/cappuccino, assuming you use good water and good coffee, so this machine does well for what it''s supposed to. I can tell the difference in the taste and appearance. The temperature matters in coffee making so it must be perfect. This one has it right. I''m using the same brand (Lavazza) with this machine as with the one that just broke and I can tell the difference in the taste. The coffee looks better too as there''s a nice crema in the cup.

Overall, a good machine (thus far, after a few days using it) with design flaws.

Update: I eventually returned this unit. The design flaws got to me....from the switch, to the steamer, to getting the coffee basket properly seated.

CRYSTAL QUEST® Undersink Replaceable Single Multi ULTRA Water Filter System Save 4% Off

CRYSTAL QUEST® Undersink Replaceable Single Multi ULTRA Water Filter SystemWe had 3 different faucet mount water filters. The Pur and Dupont were poor for different and various reasons. Ultimately, I found the faucet mount Crystal Quest model which was much more economical and worked better as well. The problem with faucet mount filters is that they are bulky and in the way. Since we liked the Crystal Quest model, we ordered their under counter model (W12) that has a water dispenser using the water sprayer (useless) sink hole. I did have it installed by a plumber when we had some other work done. That was about 2 months ago. It has been trouble free. The water tastes better. The unit seems to be made of high quality materials. The sink mounted dispenser is great. We like this filter a lot.

Before I ordered this product,I got as much advice from crystal Quest distribitor about the hook up.I told them what I had as far as existing plumbing under the sink, and they told me to use the T valve hook up.

When I went to hook up,I realized, the T valve would only supply water to the filter, but

not to the main faucet.I called back, and the first person didn''t understand quite what my problem was.The second person, after talking and explaining to him my problem said; yes,You''ll need additional fittings to make it work,as the manufacturer sends general fittings that work with some common, but not all hook ups.

I went to the hardware store, armed with a picture of my hook up,and what was in the kit.It cost me a little extra, but they gave me what I needed. The connections in the kit were not quality as far as the threading goes, and had to use extra plumbers tape to stop the leaking.I finally got everything in good shape, and if the filter does it''s job,it should be a convenient system

After removing old filter and putting this one in the water developed a horrible strong chemical taste. Tap water tasted better. Also noticed that during initial installation while I was running 1 gallon of water through it, per installation directions, no bubbles seeped out of the water line... almost as if this filter had already been drained of air prior to being used... or maybe had already been used? this was totally unlike all other filters i put into my frige which always drains the air out of them during initial installation when your running a gallon of water through them to clean them out. But then again this is filtered water like no other filter ever... one that actually adds chemical odors and horrible taste instead of removing them....$32 in the trash and this is my first amazon review ever... i am being a nice guy and warning the public.

I too have an issue with this filter. First off it is not exactly the same end as the original kenmore 46-9010 that I am replacing. I thought though that since it is advertised many places as compatible it would work. It states you MUST soak the filter in water 15 min before using. I had never seen that on any filter but did it anyway. When inserting the filter and twisting it into place there was no sound of water or pressure opening the valve. I ran 2-3 gallons of water through it and I also had no air pockets. I removed the filter and it has no water in the filter. The water is not running through it. It is just bypassing it as though there is no filter in it. I put the old kenmore back in and the pressure and water sound went through it. I then tried another new SGF-W01 and it does as the first. I do not think these filters are filtering ANY water at all. The difference in the ends must be the problem. I guess it''s like the old saying, you get what you pay for. I wasted $50 on two of these filters. I will be going and paying the higher price for a 46-9010 that really works.

Frigidaire FRA126CT1 12-000 Btu Window Air Conditioner Save 17% Off

Frigidaire FRA126CT1 12-000 Btu Window Air Conditioner W / Temp Remote
  • 12-000 BTU cooling capacity with variable speed fan
  • Cools room sizes up to 640 sq. ft.
  • 8-way air direction control
  • Clean air ionizer; Anti-bacterial mesh filter type- tilt-out filter access
  • Electronic controls with temperature sensing remote

The 12,000 BTU unit is a bad choice for most people. The smaller 10,000 BTU unit is 33% less in cost and typically much more reliable. The bigger 15,000 BTU unit is not that much more than the 12,000 unit.

So why would you pay so much extra above the price of the smaller 10K unit, yet stop short of going all out for the 15,000 BTU unit? Only one reason window height. Beyond 12,000 BTU the case gets much larger, which means it won''t fit in some window styles.

Price not important? Measure your window, and if it fits get the bigger 15K unit.

Price important? Then why would you pay so much more for this one over the 10K unit?

I''ve bought and run this size, but only in special cases where I was restricted by window size and had a really large room to cool.

Also to consider... here''s the review I gave on another model that is relevant to this one:

------------------

Between family and rent houses I put all types and sizes to the test every year in the scorching Texas sun. Here''s my experience:

If you want a solid window air conditioner, it really boils down to two choices: Frigidaire and LG. The current "sweet spot" on reliability/price/economy is the 10,000 BTU unit regardless of make/manufacturer.

Recently they''ve been making 12,000 & 15,000 BTU 110V (normal plug) units.

-The 12000 BTU truly is 20% stronger, but you pay 50% more here on Amazon.

-The 15000 BTU is a snowball tossing beast, but it''s in a larger case that may not fit your window (height-wise) and doesn''t have a long history on the market so we don''t know how it will do long-term

LG Pros The 10,000 BTU LG is my "workhorse". Best value. Run them till they fail in 4 to 7 years, then swap `em out for another.

1) Better warranty (but really, who cares when it breaks because you''re sitting there sweating)

2) Typically last an additional 2-3 years over other brands

3) An LG rarely just stops running it will degrade slowly over a season

4) They are more tolerant of neglect (e.g. dirty filters... can''t rely on tenant to care for your stuff)

5) Better withstands being placed in harsher environments (direct sunlight, restricted airflow)

6) Lower "lemon" rate

Frigidaire Pros For family I prefer to run 12,000 & 15,000 BTU Frigidaires. They are a little nicer, and I consider it worth it even though they always break sooner. (Value and reliability aren''t as important, but I do have to compensate by keeping a new boxed spare around because they always fail at the most inopportune moments. Most people can''t do this.)

1) A little nicer looking

2) Better features

3) Quieter

4) Slightly easier installation

5) Circuit surge/drain on startup seems significantly less (think lights flickering when compressor comes on)

Other parting thoughts:

1) A thing to know about newer units: To obtain the higher EER (efficiency) ratings, they use finer design on heat exchanger fins. For the non-experts, this means smaller little spaces that get jammed up with dirt/mold/whatever resulting in a clogged/filthy/poorly operating unit much-much faster than your parents'' old units. Appliance repair stores can service your window unit every year (clean it of filth) that will extend life by at least 2 years and sometimes much more. Of course this costs anywhere from $50 up, and the units are cheap, so it''s your call whether to service or toss it.

2) The 10,000 BTU Frigidaire here on Amazon is a good buy w/Amazon Prime shipping. For other higher BTU models, as of this writing you''ll be paying more but also know that right now with the national heatwave most box stores are sold out so you may not have a choice.

3) Something this heavy is a risky ship (versus store pickup). It might be shipped wrong-side-up, or dropped, or whatever. It''s a risk you''ll run so do so knowingly. (I seem to have pretty good luck w/Amazon shipped items.) The risk is offset, however, by advantages of buying from Amazon (store would take forever, you''d have to load it and bring it home, have to have a vehicle large enough to carry it, etc.)

4) Clean. Your. Filter. Every. Week. It will keep your little ice machine healthy.

5) Different stores have different models from the same maker. If they are made in the same year, it doesn''t seem to make a difference.

6) Tempted to go cheap like a Haier? Don''t.

7) Tempted to buy a 6,000 or 8,000 BTU model? Don''t. Get the stronger unit. It will cool down the room faster. It will not need to work as hard as a weaker unit and last longer. It is built with some stronger/better key components.

Good luck and happy cooling.

New unit was very noisy. Rather than return it, it was easier to it take to a local warranty repair center. I kept Amazon in the loop just in case, and they were gracious in offering to exchange the unit if I chose not to have it repaired.

The repair center diagnosed the noise as a bad bearing in the fan motor. The blower motor was replaced, and the unit is OK now. The motor being bad right out of the box suggests that these units go through no testing at the factory, and quality control is low.

After the repair, the overall noise level is about average which is OK with me. Most of the sound is the air movement swish of the blower. There is very little compressor sound when it is running, and a light "clunk" when the compressor turns off.

This 12,000 BTU unit is the same physical size as the 8,000 BTU Frigidaire unit I am replacing. For what it''s worth, the blower in the 8,000 BTU unit lasted two seasons. That might explain why Frigidaire has only a one-year warranty (which is really one season) on that part of the unit. Perhaps Frigidaire is trying to take over Haier''s role as the industry purveyor of cheap appliances.

I later found out that LG has a five-year warranty on everything -no need to buy an extended warranty. Frigidaire has five years only on the compressor, one year on everything else. The repair guy at the warranty repair center said he has seen only two LG units in the five years he has been there.

Having gone through multiple window units, I''ll offer the advice that, in order to get the high EER ratings, these things (all brands) use delicate fins on the heat exchangers the design and spacing of which easily accumulate micro dust particles in spite of the filter. The moisture on the fins along with the dust encourages the growth of mold if the fins are not meticulously cleaned. But the delicate nature of the fins along with the presence of the electronic controls means you can''t do like the old days where you took the thing out of the chassis and washed it out at the local car wash. Cleaning the fins now requires something like using a strong shop vac and a tooth brush to carefully comb fins clean at the end of each season.

In other words: It might have a high EER when you get it new, but it doesn''t stay that way for long. It''s too bad the EER is only for brand new in the lab, and no thought is given to the EER over a typical lifespan of the product.

I needed to replace a 10 year old 12,000 BTU Kenmore AC and thoroughly researched my options before zeroing in on this Frigidaire. The clincher was the unique remote control -it has a key feature that no other AC''s have, including other Frigidaires.

Thermostat & Automatic Climate Control Built Into The Remote

Let''s be clear -most modern AC''s come with a remote that turns the temperature up or down, but that''s NOT all this Frigidaire''s remote does. It actually controls the climate via it''s own thermostat and direct communication with the AC itself. The remote also has a digital readout that displays the actual room temperature at the remote itself. This is significant, because most AC''s have a thermostat in the AC housing. But this Frigidaire has a thermostat built right into the remote control, which means the AC will cycle on and off based on the temperature at the remote, instead of at the AC unit. I hated how my old Kenmore would click off the compressor because the thermostat thought the room was cool enough, yet where I was sitting, was still hot and muggy. Now, with this new Frigidaire, the compressor keeps running based on the temperature on the remote''s digital readout. Every few minutes the remote sends a signal to the AC unit, telling it what the temperature is; and the compressor adjusts, based on that readout, keeping the room a constant, consistent temperature. This feature alone sets this AC apart, head and shoulders above the rest. And after just a few days of using it, there''s no way I''d ever want an AC without this feature from here on.

More About the Remote

Other than the awesome feature mentioned above, the remote can turn the AC on or off, set the temperature, timer on, timer off, sleep mode, auto fan and energy saver. It''s also a cute little thing that feels good in my hand. It''s about the size of a small cell phone and the rubberized buttons are well laid out and easy to use, even for those with poor eyesight and dexterity, like me.

Eco-Friendly

The power surge my old Kenmore caused would literally make the lights dim whenever the compressor kicked in. On really hot days, that sudden power drain would often trip the circuit in my fuse box, knocking the power out. But this new Frigidaire is so energy efficient, that I barely hear the compressor kick in, and the lights dim for just a fraction of a second. So the power drain compared to my old Kenmore is almost nonexistent. I feel confident that when we go through another round of brown-outs here in California, my Frigidaire will keep running even when Edison throttles down everyone''s kilowatt usage. Even better, the Electric Company is giving me a rebate for upgrading to a new "green" AC; how COOL is THAT?!

Cooling Powerhouse

There aren''t too many 12,000 BTU air conditioners out there; any higher in BTU, and you can''t use a standard 3-prong wall outlet. So I was happy to find this 12,000 BTU replacement. This Frigidaire cools my 650 square foot room without a problem. Actually, I have yet to run it higher than Low speed, and at that setting, it''s been cooling off the whole room quite quickly, and keeping it at a constant temperature. I know it''s early in the season, but it''s already gotten hot and muggy here in Southern California, so I''ve had plenty of opportunity to put this new AC through its paces already. But thus far, I''m quite confident this Frigidaire can more than handle the sweltering heats that are coming.

Clean Air

I have a couple different air purifiers, but it''s cool that this AC also has a built-in ionizer. With all the air it blows around the room, it''s good to know that I can turn the ionizer on with the push of a button, and minimize the dust flying around. For those of us with respiratory problems, this is a HUGE Bonus!

Installation

If I could find an AC that does all this one can, plus install itself, then it would be the perfect AC! Short of that fantasy, this AC was well worth the setup. I had help with it, and 2 hours later -voila -we were enjoying the reward of cooler air. The unit itself was a little lighter than the Kenmore I was replacing, but let''s face it, it''s difficult to balance a big, heavy, square object on a windowsill. We got the job done though, with no real headaches or problems. The side louvers were easy to attach, and the screws, brackets and weather stripping were all self-explanatory.

QUIET!

Some other reviews had me concerned about the noise level of this particular unit, but I have to say, this Frigidaire is about as quiet as an AC gets. I have a smaller 5,000 BTU AC in the bedroom, and it''s much louder than this 12,000 BTU. My old Kenmore was waaaaaaay louder than this, even when it was brand spanking new.

Bottom Line -Frigidaire really hasn''t done themselves any favors by describing and marketing this AC so poorly. They should be punching up what''s special about this remote (the built-in thermostat,) how it interacts with the AC, and why that unique feature matters to consumers. It''s truly one of a kind and that feature alone squashes the competition in my book. This AC is so much better than it appears, at first glance. Thankfully, I was very thorough in my research, both online and in store, and I doubt you''ll find a better AC for the money than this Frigidaire. I fully expect this AC to work flawlessly for years to come; and because I''ll have it for many years, I''m glad I took the time to make the right choice.

I have a large room (about 600SF) with 10-1/2 foot ceilings in NYC. Two ceiling fans help move the air around. So the last two days have been 95F or thereabouts here in NYC, I''ve run the unit on low fan at 65F setting, and the room is chilly. At high speed the fan is kind of noisy, but at low speed you barely hear it, just some white noise in the background.

Turning it on full blast in a hot room, it takes a couple hours to really cool the room off, but maintaining a cool room, no problem.

Installation was easy enough to figure out, took all of 10 minutes.

So far am very happy with the purchase. Did the purchase via Amazon, a smooth, seamless process.

I use this window ac unit as a thru the wall cooler. It cooled three adjacent rooms during the hottest days of this past summer. I really appreciate the remote control, after several years using old fashioned manual controls. An unexpected benefit was the low noise. The unit is just a few feet from my TV and does not interfere with sound.

BISSELL CleanView Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Save 20% Off

BISSELL CleanView Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum, Black, 95P1We tested *most* of the top-selling vacuums on Amazon, in side-by-side tests. First, two observations:

(1) Dyson is not the "best" vacuum ever made, but they do have the best marketing. If you''re looking for the "best" vacuum, let''s reframe the question a little bit perhaps what''s the best vacuum under $500 or under $1000? If you''re looking for the "best", be prepared to spend a minimum of $2,000-$3,000 for a commercial upright or whole-house system.

(2) About rating sytems only side-by-side comparisons make sense to us. I have a neighbor who has a Ferrari, and complains all the time about expensive tune-ups. He would give his Ferrari 3 stars on a bad day, 4 stars on a good day. My dad really likes his Hyundai, and would give it 5 stars. Does that make Hyundai better than Ferrari? We believe only in comparing apples to apples.

Different Models Reviewed:

==========

BISSELL CLEANVIEW HELIX:

The Bissell Helix Cleanview is a step up from the previous Helix models (such as the Power Helix this model is updated, just a few more amenities), but the suction performs the same. The suction is quite impressive at first, maybe 90-95% as strong as the Dyson.

The difference is, the "Helix" sorts out the large debris, but the small debris still ends up in the filter and WILL eventually clog it. Not a big deal replace the filter (they run about $7 for 2-packs here on Amazon), and I suggest taking apart the canister and rinsing it out, or running it through the dishwasher (top shelf, cold or luke-warm water, air dry, not heat dry).

The stair/pet attachment is almost identical to other models. The styling and handling is updated and great. Easy assembly. We really had no complaints.

The problem is, if your budget for a vacuum is $100, this may not be the best bang for your buck. Don''t get me wrong this is a great vacuum, especially if you''re a dedicated Bissell fan. However, over the past 2 weeks I''ve seen the Amazon price fluctuate from $89 to $116 (with free shipping)... and for that price, you can get Dyson-quality suction with the Eureka Airspeed or Hoover WindTunnel. Read on...

==========

DYSON:

The least expensive Dyson is the (Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Upright) currently selling on Amazon for $299. If you absolutely need a Dyson to impress the neighbors, this is the best bang for your buck.

However, after testing over a dozen different models, we discovered you don''t have to spend $300 to get a top-of-the-line vacuum, that there are several brands offering models right around $100 that perform just as well. Does the Dyson live up to its marketing claims? YES it does in our opinion, fantastic quality and lossless suction.

But here''s an interesting experiment look for Dyson on craigslist from just about any major city. You''ll find dozens of people with buyer''s remorse, who paid full price for a Dyson, realized that much less expensive models perform just as well, and are trying to sell their barely used Dysons in an attempt to recoup their investment. (We checked this morning, and found about 30 such listings in our city).

==========

HOOVER WINDTUNNEL:

These are fantastic vacuums, nearly on par with the Dyson, and currently the #1 selling upright vacuum on Amazon. They have near-lossless suction, lots of attachments, & bagless. We would put them as almost exactly on par with the Bissell Helix, but currently the (Hoover WindTunnel) is only $99 on Amazon.

The auto-rewind cord is a commonly reported malfunction (the one we tested started to lose its spring after about 20 minutes, like an old set of window shades) and both the brush & belts tend to fail early as well. But all vacuums have drawbacks and design quirks. A huge perk is that the WindTunnel has a rinsable filter. Based on bang-for-your-buck, this is our top recommendation along with the Eureka Airspeed. You can''t go wrong with it.

==========

EUREKA AIRSPEED:

There are several different Airspeed models Amazon currently sells the (Eureka AirSpeed Gold) for $110. There are three different models at Walmart ranging from $98 to $135, with slightly different features bagged vs. bagless, see-through brushroll, etc.

In our tests, all of these models performed on par with the Dyson. The Airspeed had slightly better sustained suction than the Hoover WindTunnel, with only a few drawbacks (HEPA filter requires frequent changing). Nonetheless, this is our top recommendation, along with the Hoover WindTunnel. For right around $100, these two models can hold their own against just about any other vacuum in the under $1,000 price point.

==========

SHARK:

Shark has done a major turnaround in recent years, with extremely respectable upright vacuums with impressive suction. The 2 popular models are the (Navigator Upright) currently selling for $150 on Amazon, and the (Shark Navigator Lift-Away) for $199.

Basically these are great vacuums, almost as good as the Hoover WindTunnel or Eureka Airspeed. However the price point is higher for basically the same performance, so you''re really paying for the amenities, like the lift-away feature. The lift-away is very cool, but unless you absolutely need it, we still recommend going with the under $100 Eureka or Hoover.

If you''re looking at the Liftaway because you like the idea of having a canister vac, consider buying a separate canister vac (you''ll still end up saving money, *if* you have the storage space). Or consider getting a nice lightweight shop vac with a long hose (we like the Ridgid 4 Gallon Portable Shop Vac, which is $91 on Amazon but only $50 at Home Depot. If you don''t have the space for two devices, the Liftaway is a terrific option.

==========

ORECK:

The Oreck 8 lb. Upright is a fantastic vacuum, out of the box there''s nothing under $1,000 with better suction. Currently the price is $167 on Amazon, which is a fantastic price point (retail is about $350). The Oreck is known for their strong motors that last forever and ever.

However, it is not a lossless suction (you must keep it clean, change the bag, etc., to keep the performance up), and there are no attachments whatsoever no hose, no stair brush, etc. A great buy if you just need an upright vacuum with no amenities.

==========

DIRT DEVIL:

We tested several models (Breeze, Easy Clean, Dynamite) they are all basically the same, just different price points depending on size of canister, number of attachments, and size of motor (10 amp vs 12 amp).

All performed basically the same mediocre suction, easy clogging, poor design (many right-angle turns for pet hair &/or debris to clog up). We frequently see these on sale at Target and other retailers for under $30 or $40. Our recommendation: If you''re looking for an inexpensive dorm vacuum for very occasional/light use (like office use), these are fine but don''t pay more than $40. These are entry level vacuums.

Hope this helps thanks for reading!

I got this vacuum to replace an older Dirt Devil model and to place upstairs so I don''t have to lug the vacuum on the lower floor to the top floor all the time. I use this vacuum on a combination of laminate wood flooring, tile and fairly dense carpeting. This review compares the Bissell against a Dirt Devil Breeze Bagless Upright Vacuum (that died) and a Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner (that I have been using for several years).

I found the Bissell easy to assemble, and it was packed very well. I like the cord length of the Bissell. At 27 feet, it provides a good range of coverage. For comparison, the Dirt Devil''s cord is 25 feet long and the Dyson''s cord is 35 feet. The Bissell is about as maneuverable as its counterparts, featuring the standard "2 wheels in the back" design. Weight-wise, the DC17 is 20.79 pounds. The Bissell is 19.5 pounds. The Dirt Devil is 12.0 pounds.

The Bissell''s dirt container is easy to empty. I find it much easier to empty than the Dyson''s removable canister design. Suction is good for a vacuum at this price point. The Bissell picks up the stuff you see and the stuff you don''t, but the suction power lessens when the filter gets clogged. I think the Dyson has better overall suction but the Bissell has better suction than the Dirt Devil.

The HEPA filter prevents allergens from flowing back into your environment, a feature lacking on the Dirt Devil. The Bissell has dual edge cleaning and 5 adjustable height settings. Again, for comparison, the Dirt Devil doesn''t have height adjustment and the Dyson auto-adjusts. I didn''t have an issue with the height adjustment on the Bissell.

My gripe with this and many vacuums these days is they don''t have an automatic retractable cord. I had a Dirt Devil years ago that had this feature and I loved it. Also, there is no light, and once you use a vacuum with a forward facing lamp you will always want this feature.

Overall the Bissell was a great choice for my environment. I leave this one upstairs and the Dyson downstairs, which turned out to be a real time-saver. The Bissell has done a great job so far, and I have used the attachments for various purposes too. The cleaning path is wide and I like how the attachments store on the back. I would say this vacuum is a winner if you''re in the market.

This is a 4.5 star review rounded up to 5 for Amazon purposes.

Our BISSELL CleanView Vacuum is sitting in a corner opposite me like a stout, imposing Grand Dame viewing her subjects. This is a vacuum in the old school vein: big, tall, stately, serious. The modern additions, like a HEPA media filter and the bag-less canisters that you can just pop out and empty, do not change the essential fact that this is a family vacuum, made to take punishment and roll right over any obstacles.

The breakdown:

ASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE: Extremely easy. Cleaning is also a snap; we washed out the compartments and allowed them to air dry. Absolutely fine for those not mechanically minded.

PERFORMANCE: Excellent suction power, working equally well on both our carpet and our kitchen bare floor. You know that burnt smell a lot of vacuums give off when cleaning especially dirty areas? There was none of that. The cord is not retractable, like on the BISSELL Rewind PowerHelix, but that vacuum is slightly pricier. The wheel caught on our carpet one of the times we used the CleanView, but that hasn''t happened again. Overall, worlds above our old DirtDevil.

ATTACHMENTS: This is where we dock half a star. The upholstery tool brush bristles are quite hard, and could damage delicate fabrics. They really should be a bit softer, or at least you should have the option to choose a hard or soft brush. Our couch has a thin, fragile cover and we can''t really use the attachment on it. Bummer. If you have hardy thick upholstery to deal with then there is no problem.

This vacuum is an extremely good buy for how well it functions. Is it worth $15 more to get the BISELL Rewind? Most in my family prefer the Rewind to this CleanView, I think largely because of the retractable cord, as the two machines are otherwise very alike. BISSELL is our favorite vacuum by brand and this CleanView earns:

GRADE: A-

The Bissell Cleanview Bagless Vacuum cleaner provides good values for the price. Some of the key features I like are its powerful suction, easy to remove / empty dirt cup, HEPA filter, washer-able internal filter and long power-cord.

The unit is pretty easy to assemble. All we need is to screw the top handle on the vacuum body, attach the vacuum hose and accessories on the vacuum unit. It does a very good job by sucking up a lot of dirt when I tested it on my carpeted and hard wood floors. This would probably be the most important considering factor for purchasing a vacuum cleaner and this unit does it quite well with its 12 Amp motor.

A few areas which I believe could be better :

the power brush attachment is flat in design and does not have an angle adjustment which makes it a bit harder to use in some areas

this unit does not have a lamp attachment for vacuuming in low-lighted areas

no automatic cord rewind feature

This product would be a good choice for those who are budget conscious and want an unit which does a good powerful cleaning job.

Purchased this Bissell Model 95P1 on sale (get this less than $60.00 BRAND NEW!) at ''Frys'' and after my first use, I was amazed at what it picked up! Granted, due to the lack of a a vacuum cleaner for well in excess of a year (and gawd knows how long it''d been since this carpeting had been vacuumed before then!) I expected loads and loads of dirt, dust, and lint (we live in a major city). I was more outraged at what was in it, though lol! The dirt cup did fill fast, as I''d expected (the first room I vacuumed was appreoximately 13 by 15 feet) so I thoroughly cleaned the unit and its (washable) filters after that use. Then, on to the living room (approximately 13 by 20 feet) and a small hallway once again, the dirt cup nearly filled up, so I emptied the dirt cup, re-cleaned the unit and its filters again. In two days, I repeated the process again, this time in all the above carpeted areas and while the dirt cup didn''t quite reach the ''full'' mark after all was finished, I once again emptied the dirt cup, cleaned the unit and its filters, just to be sure suction remained top-notch (actually, cleaning the filters there are four washable ones is so simple, accessible, and easy takes less than ten minutes to do this!). I repeated these cleanings the next week in addition to using the onboard tools (the ''TurboBrush'' tool is unbeatable!) for baseboards, slat blinds, heat registers, air-conditioning gratings, upolstered furniture, matresses, and hard-surfaced floors (baths, dining area, and kitchen) and the dirt cup still wasn''t quite on the ''full'' mark, but I at lease emptied it (didn''t clean filters this time around). I did check the non-washable HEPA ''Media'' filter each time, and it appears to be clean and flowing. I was tempted to purchase a Dyson at nearly 10 times what this unit cost me, but glad I didn''t now. I''ve read many reviews on Bissell''s (and Dyson''s) models and most say in tests, Bissell beats the Dyson for suction and cleaing I guess Dyson just does a better job of convincing the purchaser to part with those extra dollars while recognizing no real gain in performance and durability maybe Bissell should hire a guy with a Brit accent lol! All in all, I couldn''t be more pleased with this machine and I certainly recommend it to all seeking the best value for the money over any other on the market today and this is something I seldom do.

  • Reduces chlorine taste and odor, sand, silt, sediment and rust
  • Equipped with end of life monitor to ensure continuous high quality water
  • Portable
  • Fits on to small areas on the counter top
  • Meets all plumbing codes

Heard good things about the regular Watts water filter, so I decided to move up and get the one with the alarm. Unfortunately, the first unit I received had a small hole at the base of the spout, and a small stream of water sprayed out all over. I returned it and got a new one from Amazon 2 days later that so far, works fine. Could taste the difference in the water once installed (which was so easy I could figure it out without the instructions), and quite satisfied so far. Won''t be able to report on how that alarm works for a while, but it starts at 4000, and turns off when using regular tap water and on again when using the filtered water.

Included were the diverting valve, filter wrench and batteries, but only came with one faucet adapter that worked with an outside thread and not for an inside thread. I called the company since Amazon doesn''t provide parts and was told an adapter with an inside thread is not included for this model. Therefore I went to Lowe''s and picked up an faucet adapter that worked for $2, so no big deal. However, I do feel I really shouldn''t have to pay for a part that should be included in every water filter you connect directly to the faucet (might have rated it a 5 if not for that).

Buy Watts 520008 Counter-Top Drinking Water Filter Now

This product is sold by Amazon itself. When I tried to contact the seller (Amazon) through my account there was no option to do so. Only option available was to return the whole product. I am really surprised at the lack of responsibility and professionalism.

In my case the product''s sink connector which allows the flow of water to go to the filter or to divert to the faucet never worked automatically (returning to its default = non filtered water, once the water was shut) rather we have to do it manually. The package also came lacking the manual for the digital counter/alarm (if there is one at all), the included manual only explained how to set the filter and connect the hose to the faucet no mention on how to use the buttons or warranty.

Other than that it works fine, but I would still want Amazon to replace the faulty part. If someone has an idea how to contact them please let me know.

Thanks.

The kit has plastic parts and if you go to Menards or Home Depot you can get Watts standard fittings and connectors to do it yourself that are not plastic, they will also carry the plastic water line as well.

It is easy to install and the water tastes great.

On another note: The second filter and attachment I purchase leaked but Amazson made it easy to get a replacement and the second one was there in a couple of days. They are easy to work with on returns. Good customer service.

My son likes his filter system as well.

The water filter installs bayonet-style with an easy, quarter-turn twist. The mounting device that the filter attaches to has what appears to be a built-in valve piece which also turns a quarter-turn when installing the filter. Make sure when inserting the new filter that the inlet and outlet nipples on the filter properly insert all the way up into the two, round holes in the valve device (the mounting device) before turning the filter, otherwise the built-in valve may get turned part way thus preventing proper installation. When everything is lined up properly the new filter goes in with minimal effort. If you encounter significant resistance when making the quarter-turn, stop and check the valve piece and make sure that it is turned fully counter-clockwise (as you are looking at the two holes that the nipples go in to). Then insert the filter again and turn. It really is very simple when you do it right (which I didn''t do the first time)! This is my second RC-EZ-4 (the replacement filter #). I believe it does an awesome job filtering my lousy tasting tap water and makes our drinking water from the fridge taste great! I love it!

Ok, so my original faucet for this unit had a nice button on the tip to turn the water on and off. This made its easy for kids since they do not have to reach to the end of the sink. Unfortunately that original unit broke so I had to find a replacement. The ones at Home Depot look suspiciously cheap plus they didnt come with any piping. Lowes had a replacemenbt for $59.00 -more that I wanted to spend. So I looked up the item number and found it here at Amazon plus free shipping.

Just hooked up the unit and sure enough its making a "deal breaking" water running sound coming from the air gap! Its driving me nuts!!! Arrrgggghhh!!!! Eager to figure out how these things work I took apart the old unit and discovered its just that -and air gap presumably to prevent waste water from entering the discharge side. The old unit had a rather small air gap chamber. This unit obviously has a big air gap chamber thus the running water sound as the unit discharges waste water to the drain. I''m going contact Watts and find out if they have a solution. Right now, I''m planning on returning this noise maker but I''ll give it a day. I say to buy a nother unit but I havent come up with a reasonable replacement...yet! Stay tuned!

This air gap faucet is relatively easy to install and setup. Works well with my RO filter system. The air gap noise is annoyingly loud while it''s filling up the tank (you can hear it from the next room) which is everytime after you turn on the faucet and 6-8 hours if you start from filling up from an empty tank. It looks like I will only keep this as a temporary solution until I can find something else quieter.

Seagull IV X-1F Drinking Water Purifier

Seagull IV X-1F Drinking Water Purifier - Residential ModelWe had friends that were missionaries and they took this purifier through lab testing of just about every kind of water they could find. They tested filter after filter, purifier after purifier and this is the only one that would actually clean up swamp water so it could be great drinking water. We have had ours for years and am now looking at getting a whole house unit. Its the best, no kidding and we are not "sales" people, just mom and dad!

My wife and I are retired and do a lot of traveling via 5th wheel which brings us to several locations with substandard water which requires buying bottled. A frind of mine that we met in South Texas recommended this system to me. Kinda expensive but so is buying gallons of water not the mention the inconvience. Actually this friend of mine sold the units and gave me two months to try it out and did not like, would refund my complete cost plus he would remove it from my RV. Well, after one week, was sold. Now I have a unit both in my RV and home kitchen sink. Again, kinda expensive, around $400 but well worth it.

After investigating all available water purifying systems, we purchased a Seagull IV in the late 1980s. The quality of this unit is first rate; it has held up wonderfully through all these years; we even took it with us when we moved. We have replaced the filter, faucet, hoses and gaskets over time, but the stainless steel unit is bullet-proof. We use this for our drinking, cooking, and pet water. News articles about contaminated water tables, supplies, etc., are a concern, of course, but we know that none of those chemicals are making their way into our bodies through our kitchen tap. While this unit is expensive, isn''t the health of your family and pets worth it? We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this unit; you will never regret its purchase.

I first discovered the Seagull line a decade ago when equipping a boat, have since had units in two houses as well, just ordering my fourth. I once bought a Sears unit just a carbon block type but the snap-on plastic hose connections scared me and I gave it away. The Seagull unit is physically solid, well engineered and the connection hoses and fittings won a complement from my plumber. The water is delicious even in the summer when we sometimes have musty smells from algae. It makes great coffee and is still good when I change the filter unit a year later. More than a filter read the specs and probably overkill for a house with municipal water, but still vastly cheaper than bottled water.

Moen 1248 Two-Handle Replacement Cartridge Save 23% Off

Moen 1248 Two-Handle Replacement Cartridge, High Flow Roman Tub For 4999 Valve
  • Fits all Moen Roman tub faucets

If you''re buying this for Moen''s roman tub faucet, get ready for some fun. The Moen roman tub faucet has an extra deep socket for this cartridge. This means that the standard cartridge puller will not be long enough. Here''s what I did:

1. First remove the handle

2. Remove the extension piece. It just pulls out

3. With a pipe wrench (with duct tape of the cleats), remove the decorator bezel

4. Remove the cartridge retainer cylinder nut. It''s plastic and is screwed out from the inside. They have a special tool for this but I just used some pliers to get it started and then it screwed out by hand.

5. The cartridge is now free and can be pulled. It''s a tight fit and a standard puller is not deep enough. I used a piece of perforated plumbers banding. Just bend the metal into a long U with a perforation at the base. Attach the screw through the bracket and into the cartridge. Use a screw driver for leverage with some perforations at the top of the U and pull up with a lot of force. With enough force, the cartridge will come out.

Install New Cartridge:

Coat the new o rings with plumbers silicone grease and jam the new cartridge into the socket. There is a notched part in the cartridge that will align with into socket. Screw the retainer piece back in and rebuild the handle in the same manner you disassembled.

Google Moen 1248 or see the insert that comes with the part for more detailed info. It''s just not quite written for a roman tub so it''s a little tough to follow.

Only 3 stars to Moen since the new cartridge smashed apart the first time I installed it. They don''t emphasize or even mention the grease. In my case it was a must. In general, the cartridge could be better built. Moen was very kind to send me a new part. Good luck finding this locally. Amazon is the best for items like this.

Sprite SL-CM Slim-Line Universal Shower Filter Save 16% Off

Sprite SL-CM Slim-Line Universal Shower Filter, Chrome
  • Shower Head Not Included
  • Low Profile Design
  • Slim Line Filter Cartridge
  • Life Rating Up To 6 Months
  • Extends Shower Head Less Than 1.5 Inch

I live in high elevations, which already causes dry skin issues for me. I got this filter because I read somewhere that chlorine evaporates in hot showers and you breathe it in, also skin and hair issues. I just thought I had terribly dry hair.

From my first use of the filter, I noticed a lack of chlorine smell during the shower, and my skin and hair were noticeably softer than they would after non-filtered showers.

The filter took less than 3 minutes to install: I had a wrench and plumbers tape ready, but all I needed was the wrench. the filter''s wall-to-unit threads come pre-taped. took of the shower head, twisted on the filter to hand tight, put the shower head back on, tightened it with the wrench, and done.

There was no noticeable change in water pressure.

This product is easy to install (31 yo female with all thumbs here)

and it appears to work just fine without any annoying side effects (no water pressure loss)

It didn''t effect the height of my shower head too much, but if you are especially tall, like 6+ feet, there may need to e adjustments. :-)

My dry itching skin greatly improved using this filter. However, when I removed the housing and tried to get the filter cartridge out to replace it, the housing wouldn''t open. I took the hfilter unit back to Lowe''s, and a person in the plumbing department could not open it either. Called Sprite and they suggested waiting a few days to relieve the filter pressure and if that didn''t work to take it back to Lowe''s and ask someone there to open it; told them I already had done those things. They were going to send me a return shipping label to mail the filer and housing back to them so they could examine it, but they never did. I went to UPS to mail it back, and it would have cost $13, so I didn''t.

I think this company is lacking in customer service It''s not clear to me that if I just happened on a defective filter or if all filters are made this way. Therefore, I am looking for a different chlorine filter manufacturer.

We have really horrible, hard well water, and on top of that, rusty pipes. In the basement we have a nice filtration system, but the water still smelled funky and turned both the shower and my hair orange! Since installing this I''ve noticed a huge difference, the water even feels cleaner! It didn''t reduce the water pressure any and isn''t bulky or ugly. I still notice a tiny bit of rust residue on the shower head but I think had I bought the more expensive sprite it would filter better. For the price and size of this one I am very happy!

Had these in our showers for a couple of months and it''s so nice to not smell chlorine or feel itchy! Just hope it isn''t a pain to change out the filter.

I bought this item because I need a strainer that won''t reduce pressure. I gutted my shower head to get more pressure, and that worked, but it kept getting clogged with debris. This filter dropped pressure a great deal. I was hoping that the housing would have a strainer, but it doesn''t, so I cut open the cartridge and removed the filtering stuff, so I''m only using it as a strainer. I still have a pressure loss due to the geometry of the cartridge. Now, I will try to fit a screen into the housing so that I can get rid of the cartridge altogether.

Evercare Pet Hair Adhesive Roller

Evercare Pet Hair Adhesive RollerThis tape is very sticky.

I have had products with more sheets but I think the trade off is good.

Good product and good price.

More economical to buy the refills.

I don''t think I''ll ever get a full proof solution to the pet hair problem. As soon as it starts to warm up, on cue, my dog and cat immediately start shedding. But between brushing, my upholstery vacuum and this, I manage to keep it under control. It really comes in handy when I need something really quick. I use it on, everything but my carpet, and I love it. It beats every thing else I''ve ever bought.

This item is rated as being one of the best rollers available. Unfortunately, that is a sad testimony, because if this is the best, I wonder what the worse is like. I have to take off several sheets, just to get it to work the way it should. I purchased it because I have a new black pea coat that collects lint easily. I don''t own a pet. But the roller does not do a very good job with my coat. I think I would do better just buying a roll of masking tape and wrapping it around my hand, like I did with my uniforms when I was in the Navy several years ago..

They work well and i need a case of them for my long haired dog! I should buy stock. If they were a little cheaper I''d give them five stars.

Adya AC32OZ Clarity 32 Ounce Ionic Mineral Solution Save 14% Off

Adya AC32OZ Clarity 32 Ounce Ionic Mineral SolutionI initially bought 3 32oz bottles of Adya Clarity and have been doing super-shots twice a day while also drinking 32oz of Adya Clarity water mixture. What''s really great is that you only need the smallest amount of this product at a time so the bottles last a really long time.

Eating healthy and living healthy has been my deal for a while. However, my skin rashes and other personal ailments that have plagued me and my family for years only ever improved moderately from the healthy living. I assume that my healthy could have got much worse as the years went on if I didn''t take care of myself but I still was hoping for improvements from the organic foods and expensive supplements.

Anyways, since being on Adya Clarity (for about 2 months) I have noticed a huge improvement and I''m not talking energy or emotionally (although both of those things are greatly in the positive) my skin rash has almost healed up completely, which as my doctor said even with proper pharmaceutical medication would never happen. Also my skin on my face is clearing up and my physical recovery from exercise is noticeably quicker. I was basically finding it impossible to start working out again after I hurt my back as all my muscles would ache for so long from even the crappiest workout that I couldn''t stay motivated to keep training. I started again this year and my workouts have been so much easier.

I honestly didn''t have a huge amount of faith in this volcanic mineral water but so far it''s paid for itself. I''m very happy.

There will be updates to this as time goes on!

Have just edited my last review. I stopped using this product because of the scandal regarding AL (aluminum). Knowing how toxic this and other metals are for the body, I did not and do not wish to risk intake of it in any form.

I started taking Adya in Aug of 2011 and stopped when I had to get a new filter for my Wellness filter in May 2012. Like many other people, I got a bit scared off by the negative information that Mike Adams was putting out and also I got tired of cleaning the bottles that I stored the Adya treated water in and thought that the Wellness filter would be enough. Then, I got an email from Patrick, the distributor that sold me the Adya stating that, "Dr Brian Clement at the Hippocrates Institute gives excellent review on Adya Clarity." and goes on to say that, "We tested Adya Clarity at Hippocrates Health Institute, not only distributing it to a wide cross section of our guests, but to some of our medical team, including Drs. Anna Maria and Brian Clement. The volunteers consumed the supplement for several months, conducting a heavy metal and chemical blood profile before and after the test period. In addition to receiving the great benefits of the multiple minerals, each participant reduced the handful of concerns that were revealed on the first test."

"We wholeheartedly endorse Adya Clarity and consider it a superior liquid essential supplement. Hippocrates thanks Matt Bakos at Adya, Inc. for having the professionalism and courage to allow us to analyze and scrutinize this exceptional health builder."

Knowing that Hippocrates is a well respected health institute and having been plague by some irritating infirmities that had developed in the last few months,(i.e. the annoying rash that had developed above my left eye that look like a Psoriasis patch, the dark spots all over my face, especially the patch over the bridge of my nose that looks like a slide of bacteria viewed through a microscope, the perpetual outbreak on my face that never seem to subside, the discharge that is perpetually flowing out my eyes, nose and other places.) I decided to go back to Adya again.

Then I remembered what happen when I first took it. It''s amazing how easily we forget the gains when it happens and we start to live like it never plagued us before. Anyway, an annoying itch inside my right ear use to bother me off and on. I would dig into it with my nails and wax would come out and inevitably the ear would get infected for a day or so. After starting Adya my ear started to itch again and this time, to my surprise, when I dug into it, a clump of ear wax came out that practically covered the tip of my finger. It was completely in tack as if it had been lining the inside of my inner ear for years. The Adya must have started to clean out the debris that had been trapped there and also this time, the ear never got infected again. Also, my husband use to have ringing in his ears that also went away when we too Adya, his apatite opened up, both our bowels became regular, I had borrowed a diabetes kit from my x-husband because I wanted to test myself for diabetes, but when I pricked my finger, my blood was so thick that I could hardly get a large enough drop to do the test. Around that time, I had just started Adya and within a few days, my blood completely thinned out.

The body is complicated, I don''t know why my blood was that thick, it could be due to a perpetual infection from my teeth. I don''t know, but I do know that blood that is too thick is not good and Adya had the ability to normalize this problem. Now to be clear, I never had an official test done to see if my blood was too thick, so I can''t say if in actuality my blood is too thick, but I do know that after taking the Adya, I was able to do the diabetes self test with no problem at all. If I have an itch, I just rub some of the water treated with Adya on it and as soon as the water dries, the itch is gone. On top of it all, it also tastes great.

I think all the people who got frighten off from the bad rap that Adya got, should try it again. I don''t think that the Hippocrates Institute would endorse Adya if it wasn''t beneficial to health. Who knows what happened between Mike Adams and Matt Bakos, but trust yourself. See how the treatment makes you feel. I forgot to mentioned that I when I saw the testing that Dr Shiminishi did on Adya, I was amazed at how the pond cleared up like. I must admit that I had doubts that something like that could happen and was undecided whether I should purchase it or not, but when I went to sleep that night, I woke up dreaming about that pond clearing up. I''ve never dreampt about any supplement before, so I took it as a message that this was right for me. Here''s the link to the first Article from Brian Clement from the Hippocrates Institute. To be honest, I was never really into the health craze. I believed in eating healthy and working out, but I wouldn''t go beyond that. I left all the healthier activities to my wife. Then she started buying Adya Clarity and using it in our water. I didn''t think it was going to make too much of a difference until I started to notice our clearer skin, extra energy, and lack of allergy syptoms. I usually can''t spend more than 30 minutes in my own backyard in the spring and summer before I come down with terrible allergies. After using Adya Clarity, even my allergies started improving. It''s a lot more than just adding minerals to your water. It''s adding quality to your day. I highly recommend anyone to try it for at least a month, and see what benefits you get out of it. I also recommend buying your supply from Natural Health Source. They answered all of my questions and were really patient with explaining the benefits of Adya Clarity and other products I bought from them.
