Big Berkey Water Filter-2 Black Berkey Filters and Water View Spigot

Big Berkey Water Filter-2 Black Berkey Filters and Water View Spigot
  • 2 Black Berkey purification elements- 2 hole plugs--1 water view spigot
  • 8.5" in diameter- 20" tall--7 lbs.
  • 2 gallon water storage capacity
  • Filters up to 3.5 gallons per hour
  • Recommended For up to 8 people

I have always been a water drinker but I usually drink hot water. Cold water just never seemed palpable to me; I never knew why. I think I''ve figured it out. Hot water somehow masked the mineral and chemical taste of the water. Since having my Berkey drinking water has taken on new meaning. I LOVE the taste. No need to heat my water anymore! I highly recommend getting the spigot with the glass vile attached. It takes the guess work out of how much water to add to the Berkey each night.

I had a problem with the two Black Berkey filters. They would not filter out the red dye. I contacted them and presto they sent two replacement filters THAT DAY, they did not wait for me to send the defective filters before they sent the replacements. They even issued a call tag to pick up the bad filters at their expense. Customer service was on TOP of every communication.

The hardest part in the process is determining which Berkey Water filter outfit will work best for you. The prices from advertiser to advertiser is not that big of a difference for price evaluation. Then order from these folks, IF the price is higher here it is worth it in customer support.

Old Friend Women''s 441154 Slip-On

Womens Clog SlipperI got these as a gift 4, maybe 5 years ago and they''re still going strong! Not as fluffy as they used to be, but still hella comfortable and in good shape. I''m buying a pair of Old Friends for my boyfriend; I don''t think he''s ever owned a decent pair of slippers. Well, neither had I, until I got these! They''re easy to slip in and out of, very durable and warm.

I bought these in March and have used lightly over the Spring and Summer. These are very comfortable and have good arch support. I enjoy the fleecey lining and the rubber sole. Exactly what I wanted... except the sewing around the edge of the sole and the lip of the shoe is starting to unravel already, after light use. I am sad, given that these were not cheap shoes, and surprised as the reviews indicated a quality product. I might have to look for new slippers again already this winter...

This is my second pair of Old Friend Clogs and I wore the first pair out. The back seems shorter and the slipper is more like a slide than a clog :(

I ordered this shoe to replace the same shoe that I had bought and loved to the point of wearing out a couple of years ago. This recent shoe was redesigned to be more of a slide than a moccasin. It slid off my foot and slapped my heal with every step. I was quite disappointed and returned the shoe. I have replaced it with another brand.

My wife is on her second pair of these slippers. She says they fit well and are warm and cozy. they have a real sheepskin lining. Problem is, they do not last long. She wore the first pair out in around a year and we did get an adjustment on the price from Amazon. We ordered a new pair thinking the first pair was defective but now that pair is wearing out prematurily. The stitching is coming out and the heel on one slipper is wearing down. I don''t think we will order these again.

All Purpose Cleaner Spray+Wipe 32 Ounces Save 1% Off

All Purpose Cleaner Spray+Wipe 32 OuncesAfter trying numerous natural cleaners, you begin to realize that many are all-purpose, but some just won''t do every task. If you run out of one cleaner, you can''t always use another to do the same task. With one bottle of Bi-O-Kleen, you can literally clean everything in your house. This product will even clean mirrors to a streak-free shine. You can use it in the kitchen, bathroom, on walls, for carpet cleaning, to remove laundry stains, clean stainless steel and chrome, shine up plant leaves and even clean toys, RVs, Cars and Boats.

Ingredients: Surfactants, wetting agents and degreaser from coconut, grapefruit seed and pulp extracts, cold pressed Valencia orange oil, linear sulfonate and filtered spring water.

This is a very safe cleaner and I feel good about using it on the floors and counters. I''m always worried about cleaners being used around my cats, but with this one, I don''t have to worry because there are no harsh fumes. I used to have to lock the cats out of the room I was cleaning, but now they happily sit at the open door, watching me work.

Added Bonuses:

Guilt-Free Cleaning Won''t harm rivers, streams, plants or wildlife.

Safety Factor Won''t harm vinyl, stainless steel, painted surfaces, chrome or porcelain.

Non-Flammable unlike other orange cleaners

Neutral PH

No Animal Testing

I love that I can use this on mirrors! It won''t cause you any respiratory problems like other glass cleaners can and I think it cleans glass perfectly.

~The Rebecca Review

I have been trying "greener" products for a few years, but I haven''t been to terribly successful. This All Purpose Spray and Wipe Cleaner delivers! It cleans everything without leaving a residue and it doesn''t have a strong scent (a big complaint I''ve had with a lot of the products I''ve tried). My husband and my kids even noticed what a fantastic job it does. Finally, a product that works as promised and that I can feel good about using!

this is a great natural cleaner that doesn''t affect my chemical sensitivities. no fumes and works well!

OK the cleaner itself, I give 5 starts. It is indeed all that and a bag of chips so to speak.

However, I''m sensitive to salicylates and something in this gives me awful respiratory reactions when I spray it. "Chemically sensitive" does not mean that every non-toxic, natural thing is OK (I''m allergic to aspirin, so aloe is a problem, etc.)

That isn''t the fault of the cleaner; the 3 stars is because if you''re having it shipped, buying the spray is silly. Much better to buy the 32 oz concentrate. Then you can mix it in a spray bottle at home, and you can use it in different strengths for different tasks.

OR, if you''re like me, buying the concentrate and not the spray means you can dilute it in a dish and dip the rag in -no spraying means no inhaling. Since it bugs me I wouldn''t want it in the air around my pets or baby.

BISSELL Steam Shot Hard-Surface Cleaner Save 24% Off

BISSELL Steam Shot Hard-Surface Cleaner, 39N7AI''ve had good luck with Bissell products, so, given conflicting reviews for other devices an insufficient reviews for the Steam Shot, I purchased one.

OK--it''s true. Infomercials for such products are deceptive. Using chemical cleaners is a great deal faster and "easier" than this. Tortoise vs. the hare: This trudges very slowly compared to traditional cleaning. It requires patience.

My concerns with chemical cleaners include the residues left over that attract dirt and dust again, the unpleasantness of using and then worrying about chemicals, and, the concerns about using them near foodstuffs, utensils, prep and cooking surfaces, and, pots and pans.

The advantage of the Steam Shot (and, likely other similar "electric kettle" hand held colleague devices) is, that once a surface or item is clean, it really "is" clean. I don''t have any fear or qualms even about using this on kitchen utensils, bread makers, microwaves, and, oven windows. It''s also very good at cleaning kitchen cabinet fronts and vertical surfaces such as the outside of the dishwasher, trash compactor, and the fridge. One thing this is extraordinary at is getting at dirt between a metal (or porcelain) surface (say, a sink or stove) and counter tops (Formica, etc.). It''s amazing at "rooting" out such dirt! This is also true of the "line" between back splashes and counter tops. I think that "touch-up" cleaning later on will be faster and easier....

Candle wax on the brick of the hearth? (Or a wall?--I''ll need now to patch-paint!) The wax is tedious to remove in any case, yet, this is the best solution I''ve found--the unit definitely will melt wax so that it''s easier to remove--absolutely!

As for waiting on the steam, I''m simply busy with scrubbing with a cloth or noting where to clean next--this is not a big problem for me; it seems that, as time goes on, heating up again is pretty fast. I''ve heard the item''s boiling water while heating up. Although it''s not always so hot, the steam can become really hot--I certainly believe it becomes hot enough to kill pathogens! It may certainly burn fingers, also, so precautions are smart. Despite what other reviewers think, my Steam Shot becomes very hot: It works! I''m not absolutely certain, but the "kettle" inside appears to be comprised of metal. The plastic of the unit and of the accessories appears to be high quality, also.

(When finished with the Steam Shot--allow it to cool sufficiently, then, slowly open the knob until it''s removed (steam may slowly vent while opening). Then, before dumping the water, turn the unit slowly on its side over your sink and dump the water out--away from you--hopefully, the water won''t "jet" out into your sink really quickly or explosively. (If so, this indicates that the water still is super-heated and dangerous (after all, it was both heated and pressurized): You don''t want it ever to "jet" out at you or anyone else. Let the unit cool sufficiently longer next time!)

Conclusion:

This is nifty, and I enjoy cleaning with it. For heavy cleaning, this requires patience, but, I believe patience is rewarded and saves money! For certain unique household cleaning needs, this fits the bill really well! I haven''t tried it, but, a dirty bar-b-q grate likely is too heavy a cleaning task for this. That always has been a pain....

I just used mine for the first time (bought it elsewhere). I used it to clean the stained grout on the kitchen floor. The dog had gotten into the trash several times, so the grout was stained dark brown from coffee grinds. This little steamer did a good job of removing most of the stain. Looking at two sections steamed and unsteamed there is an incredible difference, enough so that my floor will not be embarrassing when I am finished.

I used the grout attachment at first, but then switched to the round brush attachment because it is stiffer. Both did a good job, the round brush a little more so. You get three different colored brushes for different uses, for instance, if you want to keep one for the floor and use another on the kitchen counter or in the bathroom. I will be looking to buy more of these brushes, as I can see that they will not last indefinitely, but nothing does!

I timed my cleaning. Each session lasted about 20 minutes before I needed to refill. I unplugged first, waited about 10 seconds, and then slowly unscrewed the cap from the reservoir. There was a little hiss but no sputtering. In other words, waiting just a few seconds made it safe to open. While I refilled the measuring cup that comes with it, the unit cooled down enough that I was able to refill immediately. Put the cap back on, plug it in, wait about a minute or two, and I was good to go again for about another 20 minutes of steam. The key to the refilling process is to unplug first so you don''t get burned.

I used the window attachment to clean dog drool (easily!) off the kitchen sliding doors. There are other attachments that I haven''t tried yet, but I''m sure I''ll find uses for them. The cord is extra long and heavy duty. This is a handy little cleaner that does have its limitations because of its size. However, the size it an advantage if you just want to clean up something easily and effectively. I bought it because I didn''t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a big steamer. I wanted to test try something smaller to see if steam cleaning stands up to its good reputation. It does!

I think it''s good, but I wish it had a little more power. I like to clean the nooks and cranies in the bath and around the shower door. I don''t mind the size, I can get two bathrooms clean before the steam runs out. I think being able to shut it off until it is ready for use is a great feature. thumbs up!

Just received delivery of my new Bissell Steam Shot Hard Surface Cleaner on the exact date that Amazon scheduled. Note that, for several years, I''ve been using a Euro-Pro model that is attached to a floor canister and includes the floor attachment. I love it but lately, find that when using the handheld attachment, I''m tripping around the cord, hose, or canister so decided to look for a handheld model. I purchased a Haan a few months ago but sent it back because it just didn''t measure up to my old Euro-Pro. After more research, I purchased the Bissell and I''m SO pleased with it. It was well packaged and the instructions are clear and simple. I didn''t think you could go wrong with a Bissell.

This little guy is ready in 3 minutes, and needs just about 5 minutes to cool down if you need to refill it. And I was amazed at how long it lasted without running out of steam.

I wanted to do a test run. During the course of 30 minutes, I cleaned my kitchen countertops, sink, glass-top stove, glass tabletop, bathroom sink and vanity, and various small items, like the holders for our Sonicare toothbrushes. It gets into cracks and crevices and blows the dirt away (just wipe wherever it falls). I was just trying it out and didn''t plan on any elaborate cleaning job. When I emptied the canister, I couldn''t believe how much water remained!

I was concerned because it didn''t have a control to leave the unit on but the power button is so well designed that it is no problem at all. I got into the rhythm of steaming with my left hand and wiping with my right hand, wherever feasible.

As an old hand at steam cleaning, may I offer a few tips.

1. Follow the instructions that are shipped with any steam unit.

2. Allow the unit to get hot. (The Bissell takes only 3 minutes.)

3. Steam small sections at a time and wipe immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel.

You can clean almost anything -from bathrooms and kitchens to lamp shades and silk plants as well as BBQ grills and autos. Like any cleaning solution, you do have to wipe but the result feels so clean. No residue!

I''d highly recommend this unit.

I purchased this Bissell Steam Shot Hard Surface Cleaner, for jobs like cleaning our kitchen grout, and along baseboards, and of course the sliding shower door tracks. Boy it does the job. I also got it for my husbands little garage frig. but have not used it there yet. It gets hot so fast, and the steam does last a long time. Of course you use up the little brushes it comes with, they kind of melt in the steam, so I just use an old tooth brush on the inside microwave things, and a stiff grout brush on the grout. You do have to scrub as you steam, you can''t expect a miracle with just steam. But I know around the kitchen floor base boards it gets it good. We use a Haan floor steamer and love it too. But didn''t choose their steamer because of reviews. I wanted steam because it is natural, and I am sure it is killing germs. I love this one and would buy it again.

Hamilton Beach Hamilton Beach 64650 Stand Mixer Shift & Stir Bowl Brushed Stainless SteelMy DSIL gave me this several years ago for Christmas, but I just last week started trying to do some baking. I was making a cake yesterday and got this thing out of the box for the first time.

I found it to be totally useless. Half the time I had to stop and take the handmixer (which is all it really is) off use it the way that it is truly intended, as a handmixer.

I washed it, put it back in the box, and if anyone wants this piece of junk, email me and you can come pick it up!

My new mixer came sooner than I''d expected and was clean, in perfect working order and everything I needed in a mixer. My two small children and I set to work making muffins right away. It was easy and fun. I am actually enjoying cooking again. My children are having fun learning to make things and love to turn the mixer on for me. Thanks for getting this to me so quickly.

Capresso 441.05 MT-500 Plus 10-cup Coffeemaker

Capresso 441.05 MT-500 Plus 10-cup Coffeemaker with Metallic Alloy Body and Stainless Thermal CarafeLet''s get the price issue out of the way: in no way is this "worth" its price premium over other brands by virtue of its construction / materials. You are considering buying this for one reason only: coffee geek self-indulgence in search of the best possible home-brewed.

With that acknowledged, how does it do? Answer: pretty damn well, with a couple of asterisks.

(Note: our standard of comparison is a late, lamented Braun Flavor Select, which made excellent coffee for close to a decade. But the current Braun models lack a couple of features we liked on the previous one, which threw the choice of a replacement open to all comers. We eventually settled on the Capresso.)

First off, this is FAST. It seems like there''s barely enough time to put away the coffee bean jar and pull out a couple of mugs before it''s ready to drink, at a perfect temperature: just slightly too hot to take more than a sip for the first couple of minutes. You do have to guess when the dripping has finished, since the brewing light doesn''t go out for several minutes after.

The timed-brew feature, which is indispensible to us, sets up easily and works like a champ. We have well water but still use the water filter -buy an extra pack at the same time you buy the coffeemaker. And we prefer using the included gold filter to avoid possible contaminants that could leech from a paper filter.

With those perameters, the flavor is incredibly good, smoother and less acidic than the Braun it replaced, using the same beans in the same quantity, while maintaining a similar richness and depth. Warning: just as high-quality stereo speakers can reveal shortcomings in source material and associated electronics, so this coffeemaker immediately lets you know if your coffee isn''t up to the job. My wife''s comment after her first cup: we need to use better beans.

If your brewed coffee sits around for more than a few minutes, Capresso''s thermal carafe is a great improvement over Braun''s warming plate. I often wait an hour for a second mug, and by then "burnt" aromas and flavors invariably creep into coffee that''s been kept warm on a plate. Over that same time, the thermal carafe maintains a just-brewed flavor and seems to suffer only a minor temperature drop -perhaps a couple of degrees.

Cleanup is definitely a bit fussy -you remove the filter and filter holder for rinsing, and mop up the wet grounds that are invariably clinging to the bottom of the flip-up lid.

Now for those asterisks -all minor annoyances, to be sure:

*The carafe is shiny stainless, while the coffeemaker itself has a brushed finish. That doesn''t work well together -especially in a kitchen where other appliances are brushed stainless. And I expect the carafe to start to show scratches after it''s been around a bit longer.

*The carafe pours slowly with the "black dot" in position, and you need to almost completely invert it to get to the last couple of ounces.

*The water gauge has tiny, difficult-to-see numbers for my middle-aged eyes.

I haven''t tried to replicate the "counter flood" problem occasionally reported on this and the identical non-metallic model, but I can see several ways it could happen: a stuck valve in the thermal cafafe lid, using more coffee than recommended in the instructions, or an ultra-fine grind. In other words, this coffeemaker is not engineered to be idiot-proof. I''m learning to check the valve every time we rinse the pot.

That said, this is the best home coffemaker we''ve ever used, which is why it gets five stars. Whether the quality justifies the cost is a matter for individual decision.

The first thing you notice about this machine is that it''s probably the best looking drip coffee maker on the market. The aluminum body shines and the carafe has a very hefty look and feel to it, with the brushed stainless and black plastic. The machine is well made and thoughtfully laid out -no fancy dials, switches, or other gimmickry. It has an intuitive programmable display with a muted orange LED for time, green for program brew, and red for ON (brew now). Simple. The water reservoir is not removable, but the lid does open all the way up and stays up so you can easily fill it and the water filter is very easy to get at and change. The machine brews a whole pot in like 5-8 minutes -it''s fast and has drip stop for those in a hurry. So that''s all the good stuff.

The bad: you have to clean the lid of the carafe carefully, otherwise you risk having coffee flow over if the little ball in the lid gets stuck. Also, because the drip stop and carafe lid are designed in such a way, if you don''t correctly align the carafe with the drip-stop, you also risk getting coffee flowing all over the counter -major drag. And while the coffee filter holder itself comes out, it''s very hard to clean the surrounding frame that holds it.

And finally, there''s the price -MAJOR premium over other comparable brands and given the I''ve had with the carafe lid and the number of times I''ve had coffee spilling out all over the pot and countertop, I really question the price.

But if good looks and fast coffee are all that matter, this is a real contender. Otherwise, I would consider a less expensive machine.

Update: Nearly 7 years later and I''m still using this machine -it''s great! The only maintenance it requires is a good cleaning with one of those descaling agents about once a year to remove the normal build-up of crud in the water reservoir (and I do use the charcoal filter as well). The lid to the carafe also needs a good cleaning now and then; as coffee residue builds up, it''s easy for the pour spout to get ''touchy'' and cause it to spill unless you have it set dead-straight. I use a carafe cleaner to clean out the stainless pot about once a quarter and it also cleans all the gunk out of the lid which makes it less prone to spilling/dribbling when pouring. The only thing that no longer works is that little red ball that shows the water level -but you can easily read the markings because it''s external, so you don''t need the red ball to see where the water is. I keep thinking it should be time to get a new coffeemaker, but this one continues to brew a great pot of coffee!

IT''S NOW MAY 2011...... UPDATE

We''ve used this coffee maker for quite a while now. I wished I had purchased the Technivorm. Why? Making small batches of coffee, the temperature of the carafe coffee is never hot enough. We''ve used room temp water, pre-rinsed the thermal carafe with hot water, and even brewed larger volumes, which Capresso recommends for highest temperature performance. But in the final analysis, this machine just doesn''t live up to the claims of brewing near 200 degrees F. And frankly, I can''t stand the engineering on the "screw tight and screw open carafe lid." It''s just not user friendly, in my opinion. We''re giving the machine to our youngest daughter and her husband. We''re buying a Zojirushi at Bed Bath and Beyond for about $72 after their 20% discount and another $5 promo. BTW, in the mornings we usually brew our Brasilian coffee "Tropeiro Style", which is similar to Turkish coffee preparation. The final product is just below boiling, and stays very hot in the thermos/carafe for hours. This is very common in Brasil, and it works! No fancy machines. The coffee maker for us is usful when we''re serving coffee for more than four people.

-------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW -----------------------------------------------------

I''m a member of SCAA, (Specialty Coffee Assoc. of Amer.), and know that properly brewed coffee requires "hot water." In fact, brew temp''s need to be around 200 degrees F. This machine, and the Technivorm unit from Boyd Coffee are the only two consumer machines I''m aware of that do.

My ONLY ISSUE with Capresso is the insulated thermos/carafe. It has the most unfriendly screw on cap. And outside of a small raised dot, which is black and matches the rest of the cap....thus making it near invisible, you''ll play heck having anyone other than you figure out how to pour the hot coffee first time out!

I can say that it is a quality brewing device, does everything I expected, and meets my critical brewing demands.

Was it worth paying $200 for this brewer when I could have purchased a "look-a-like" for under $100? For me, yes. Both we and our friends agree that the final product is very good, and the carafe holds the coffee for our required "one hour" of usability, while maintaining a reasonably high temperature. I guess the moral remains; "You get what you pay for."

I did speak to both Capresso customer service and to Boyd Coffee Co. at the recent International Coffee Convention in Long Beach, CA. I asked both about brewing "under 3 cups" per cycle. (We are Brasilian and drink traditional fine ground coffee from Brazil, and in small demitasse cups....3 US cups is enough for 2-3 people) Both they and Technivorm prefer that their clients brew no less than 3 cups at a time, and preferably 5 or more cups. However, if you must brew smaller quantities, the Capresso does have a "3 cup cycle", which slows the water delivery and extends the steeping of the grounds. Again, it''s all about having 200 deg. F water flowing over and steeping the grounds. Most cheaper machines will never get their percolated water to that temperature point, which is required to emulsify and pass the essential flavor oils into your cup. If you''re concerned with buying the best machine for home coffee.......than you have two great choices; the Capresso for its ability to meet brewing standards "and also" blend into your designer kitchen, or the very competent Technivorm, sold by Boyd Coffee Co., which is certified by the SCAA, but honestly isn''t a beauty to look at........ I opted to get a good brewer "and" satisfy my wife''s design concerns.

We have had this Capresso coffeemaker for over a year, and have found it to be flawless. We have had none of the small problems shared by other reviewers. We did, however, put a small dab of white paint on the top''s black dot to make it easier to see and position which might help others who are having a problem with that issue. Not only has the machine held up to rigorous use, it continues to deliver fine coffee for us and we are admittedly coffee snobs! We recommend this Capresso coffeemaker highly.

To address some of the reviewers who said it''s a great coffee maker "but is it really worth the extra price over similar coffee makers"... I say a resounding YES, if like me, you don''t wish to have aluminum leaked every day into your coffee, which by the way is a strong suspect in Alzheimer''s disease. I for one hope to enjoy my coffee well into my elder years (still knowing what it is!) and will gladly pay a higher price for mine and my families health. So the stainless boiler alone is worth the extra $$ over cheaper (inferior) models. Remember the old saying "an educated consumer is the best consumer"? If you understand "why" something costs a little more, you may realize it''s actually a very good deal in the long run.

Mr. Coffee CGX23 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, BlackBought this model at walmart for as I had a gift card for there. Have used daily for about 6 weeks usu. make about 8 cups. There have been no issues and the coffee tastes good for this economy model. Pause-n-serve works fine...can occasionly drip as all these models do when using that feature. Just keep a small napkin to wipe it off burner before setting carafe back on it. If you pull the carafe between "burps" (when the coffee actually drips through), you can virtually eliminate or minimze the drip. Easy to clean, the 2/hr shutoff works fine, and the timed brew feature works fine (as long as power doesn''t go off over night). Overall it was a great buy in my opinion. The last Mr. Coffee I had (similiar unit) lasted 15 years...I can only hope this one lasts half that long. I even kept and use the same gold filter unit from the old one & it works fine on this model.

NOTE: Save the grounds and use on houseplants, in garden, and on small trees. Keeps insects away esp ants. The trees/plants absorbed the caffeine which doesn''t hurt them the insects can''t tolerate it. I''ve been doing this for 20 years and works great.

So far this has been a wonderful product. We have had it about five weeks and use it five times a week. It is easy to use, makes great, hot coffee and looks good on the counter.

Our previous coffee maker was a Mr. Coffee which lasted about fifteen years. We looked at and researched many brands. For the price and given the service that we got from the previous Mr. coffee maker we went with this model.

The pot is easy to pour from with no drips. There are no grounds in the coffee. There is an occasional drip onto the hot plate when you remove the pot, but not every time. It is easy to fill with water and coffee. The brewing time for nine cups is about fourteen minutes. There is a gurgling sound toward the end of the brewing cycle but it is not loud. We are well pleased with our purchase.

I was very excited when I first bought this coffeemaker five weeks ago. It had everything I wanted in a coffeemaker. It was very stylish, convenient, easy to use, did not drip when pouring, was programmable, made a good cup of coffee, had cord storage, wasn''t too large, had automatic shut-off after 2 hrs., etc. Too bad it stopped working after only 5 weeks of light use. I used it 3 to 4 times a week for one pot at a time. All of the sudden, the water wouldn''t come through. I tried cleaning it as recommended, but to no avail. All it did was sputter and steam up my whole kitchen. Maybe I got a dud, but I returned it to Walmart and bought a different brand. Too bad, since I had such high hopes for this one.

I thought this would be a great coffee maker for the price..everything could ask for plus a little more in the same price range. I have had so many problems with this coffee pot! I''d love to get rid of it in a heart beat!

1. when you pour the coffee it leaks every where! After writing to the company they sent a new pot..which worked for a couple of weeks and then the same problem has occurred again!

2. It takes about 15 minutes to brew a pot of coffee also.

3. Sneak a cup feature doesn''t work long enough to sneak a cup.

4. It does turn off in 2 hours but also shuts off while brewing if you need to brew another pot in those 2 hours of the first pot.

5. The buttons start to stick probably from the coffee leaking on to them.

I don''t feel this is a safe pot anymore to leave plugged in all the time because of the "sticky" buttons. The programmable feature is nice so that would be something I may look for in a new purchase but not a must have if it brews faster than this one. I would not purchase this maker again or the same brand..didn''t live up to what I was hoping it would!

The secret to good coffee is a clean coffee maker. This one is the only one I found where all the components can be cleaned. You can fit your hand into the water holding tank and clean it. The up flow tube and disperser are removable for cleaning. If you can''t clean these components or worse can''t even see how dirty they are, then you have no idea how disgusting your coffee maker is. It''s only $24 elsewhere.

DeLonghi DCF212T Drip Coffeemaker with Convenient Front AccessWhen my $100 coffee maker quit, I researched coffee makers and found this model from DeLonghi I hadn''t heard of before. The design of this model sets a new standard for on-the-counter coffee makers. It is incredible to be able to put the filter, coffee, AND WATER in the maker without moving the machine. The caraffe doesn''t drip when pouring into the swing out arm (or into the cup later) so there''s no messy drips to wipe up at any time.

The digital clock isn''t the quickest to set since you have to hold a button in as it changes in minutes only, but hopefully that won''t need set often.

The "aroma" button really works! There actually is a difference in the brewing aroma with it on.

Most importantly, the end product was a great cup of coffee! I''m thrilled with the coffee maker and haven''t found a single negative aspect yet, including the price. I HIGHLY recommend this model. Kudos Delonghi, you really outdid yourself here. Amazon''s shipping was simple and fast. The whole purchasing experience was exceptional. A+++++

I just got this coffee maker a few days ago and for the most part I like it, but, and this is a major but for me, the coffee just isn''t quite hot enough. I find myself throwing my cup in the microwave to get it piping hot, not scalding but hot. It''s nice looking, the front water loading is convenient, the coffee tastes good, but I wouldn''t buy it again because of the temperature issue.

I had the same leaking problem that another reviewer had. After about 1 month of daily use this unit starts leaking from the back and liquid coffee goes down to the warming plate making a mess and causing a burnt coffee smell. The company kindly sent me another unit but the same thing happened. So now they are sending me a second replacement and I chose a different model which hopefully will be more reliable. But based on the review on that unit I am not optimistic that unit is any better.

Summary: it died after 40 days.

I did my homework before picking this one, relying a lot on other reviewers'' comments. I concede that the pour-from-the-front feature was appealing, but after getting the machine, I realized that it''s not such a great design. Because the water channels through this front access swing-out arm, it''s very difficult to REMOVE unwanted water, not to mention grounds that somehow end up in the reservoir. When I used a flashlight to examine the reservoir, I was appalled at how scummy it was, even after only a few weeks'' usage.

The digital clock is terribly clumsy. To set the clock or brew time, you must hold down a single button until it reaches the desired time. The brew time defaults to 6AM, so if you want to set it for 5AM, you must cycle through 23 hours of counting.....and if you want to change it for the weekend, it''s very awkward. Hey, this is 2008! Can''t you do better than this, DeLonghi? This is a stone-age digital clock!

But the bottom line was simply this: the heating element stopped working after only 40 days of use. That''s simply not acceptable. In the past, a coffeemaker could be expected to last for many years of daily use. Sadly, none of the "imported" coffeemakers I''ve tried recently can match that performance. This model was an exceptional failure.

I bought this coffee maker about 4 months ago and it is already in the garbage. After the first month coffee would slowly come out of the carafe around the silver strip near the bottom and get on the burner and the smell of burnt coffe would fill the house. Then this weekend as I was filling the carafe with water it cracked. Carafe''s online are $20 + shipping. NOT WORTH IT! So, I went out and bought a Cuisnart Coffee on Demand 12 cup programmable coffee maker and so far it is wonderful! Flavorful and hot coffee and even better there is no carafe to worry with!!!

Brita Pitcher Replacement Filter

Brita Pitcher Replacement FilterJust as described; arrived promptly. The filter is losing more of those little carbon bits than average--I am assuming that''s just a fluke. Will order again when needed and see how that goes.

I purchased this item to try and restore the grout on my floor. It was recommended by my granite installer. It really didn''t work and where it did try and work it left it spotty. And by all means don''t let it even touch any stainless steel. It leaves spots that do not come off even if you remove it immediatly. Very upsetting, especially when you just remodeled a kitchen and have a new sink and range that are stainless and are now stained from this product. They do warn you about this problem and tell you to wipe it off immediatly, just don''t let it touch any stainless.

We are preparing to sell our house, and purchased this product to clean the grout. Our tiles are white, and we thought the grout was originally a light gray. Guess what?? It''s white!

The product is easy to mix (1 part water/1 part cleaner), and we applied it to the grout with a small scrub brush. Applying it to one area at a time, we simply went back over it with a wet sponge, later followed by a quick mopping. Our tile & grout truly look brand new, and they are nearly 13 years old!!

I do recommend gloves, long pants, and long sleeves. The cleaner is acidic, and therefore it''s not a good idea to get it on your skin.

These are a very good filter and easy to clean. The water where I live is more like rust with some water added (and it is very expensive). I pre filter first with a Brita and then run that through my Berkey. I must clean my filters and inside of my tanks every single month as the ceramic filters are getting very clogged with what the Brita did not catch. My Brita filters last 3 weeks, sometimes 4 but are then full with rust and other sediments. Bleaching the insides of the tank and running the bleach water through the spigot is very important. Also clean and bleach the entire lid of your Berkey. DO NOT GET BLEACH OR USE ANY KINDS OF SOAP ON THE CERAMIC FILTERS and do not get any water near the thread mounts. Using a firm toothbrush or softened 3m scouring pad, scrub pushing away from the thread mounts and rinse well. After cleaning, do a run through and discard that water (I head for the garden with it. I never waste water). Then you''re ready to roll for another month!

Back when everyone was talking about Y2K my husband and I stocked up on some survival items. We did not have the best quality water and bought a British Berkfeld water purifer. The filters that I purchased made the quality of water better than bottled. These filters are good for 5000 gallons. I reccomend them to anyone.
