Frigidaire Professional Coffee Maker Replacement Water Filters 6-Pack Save 16% Off

Frigidaire Professional Coffee Maker Replacement Water Filters 6-PackI''m being charitable here. I replaced my old filter with this, but I''m still getting the message on the coffee pot that the filter needs to be replaced. When I opened the package the inside was filled with spilled charcoal. Lucky that my water is filtered before adding to the coffee pot. Maybe I got a bad batch!

They work fine in my frigidaire coffee maker. Price seems a bit high compared to others. They are just small charcoal filters.

My coffee pot did not come with a filter in the coffee pot, I found the holder in the water compartment in the back of the coffee pot after reading the directions. I ordered them on line and it was really easy to follow the directions to place the filter in the holder. I enjoy my morning coffee and can tell a difference in the improved flavor of the coffee with the filter.

KRUPS XP5220 Pump Espresso Machine Save 40% Off

KRUPS XP5220 Pump Espresso Machine with KRUPS Precise Tamp Technology and Stainless Steel Control Panel, BlackA few weeks ago we shopped for a new expresso machine at the Bed, Bath and Beyond store. Take in your 20% discount coupon and you will get a great deal.

Overall, we give the Krups XP5220 machine 5 stars. It is a quality made machine and makes good creme (foam). The nicest feature is the automatic tapping and the push-button to pop out the used coffee puck, no longer need to bang the filter holder on the garbage can to get the grinds to fall out.

One word of warning: we found a number of unhappy amazon.com users who had broken the tabs off the steam wand. A customer may not realize that in order to remove the nozzle for cleaning you have to pull the slip ring down and pull straight off which requires a bit of force. If you pry one of the 3 tabs which are in a vulnerable position they will break and then the steam wand may not stay on under pressure. Once you understand the proper removal and installation, it''s not a problem. The manufacturer should review this design and make it a bit more robust. Otherwise it is a high quality machine and does a great job.

We benefitted from previous reviewers on the subject and were careful with our steam wand. Once you understand how to properly remove the nozzle it''s not a problem. Don''t overlook this machine, it is very nicely made and works well.

We''ve had this espresso machine for just over a month and it works wonderfully.

It''s a huge step up from our previous model (XP4030). For one thing, the previous machine was extremely loud and vibrated so badly that it couldn''t be left unattended. We expected a bit more noise, and did get used to it, but not being able to turn our back while the coffee was brewing wasn''t an option. This machine is much quieter, and there is no vibration. I can leave the room and come back to find the carafe or cup in the same spot I left it.

The coffee does pull slower, but that''s not an issue for us.

Secondly, this machine has an auto tamping system. At first I was dubious about that, but now I love it. No more worrying about how far to tamp the grind down, just put it in the holder, put the holder in place, turn it a click or two, and you''re ready to go.

If you click too far, not only will the holder be too tight, but the coffee won''t flow. If nothing happens after a second or two, simply shut the machine off, release the holder, then click it one turn back. At that point it should work without having to remove any of the grounds (though in the beginning I did have to take a bit out). It takes a little practice, but you do learn how much ground to put in the holder.

The third thing that this machine has over our previous one...NO THIN RUBBER GASKET!! That was a big draw. We had spent quite a bit of money replacing gaskets (from the six month point on), and every other machine that we looked at (and we looked at them all) had the same rubber gasket.

Fourth, Krups finally got wise and encased the metal that was behind the drip tray. No more exposed metal, no more rusting. And instead of a pull out drip tray, the entire piece lifts off for easy emptying.

All of these things made the machine more expensive than our previous one, but it''s less expensive than a lot of the brands/models we looked at. And though we''re serious about our espresso/Americano''s, we''re not ready to take the plunge into the machines that cost hundreds of dollars. This is a good alternative (for us anyway).

We''ve had no problems with the frothing wand. It seems as sturdy as any of the others we''ve seen.

I will say that with our old machine it was extremely difficult to develop a good froth. With this one, I expected about the same, but then we hadn''t purchased the machine for fancy drinks.

That said, this machine makes a fantastic froth and it''s very simple to use. I had given up even trying with our previous machine, and whenever I wanted a cappuccino my husband had to do it (with mixed results and never quite as good as our old steam espresso maker).

It''s nice to be able to make my own cappuccino''s now. :-)

Who knows. I may be back in a few months with some negative comments, but for right now we''re enjoying this machine.

*And here I am. Ten months in and we experienced the same problem with this machine as with the less expensive machine. The inner rubber gasket (which isn''t visible on this model) failed.

Our first order of business was to find out if replacement parts were available. With none found, and since the machine is still under warranty, we contacted Krups. They would not send a replacement part, but did pay for the machine to be sent to (and returned from) a service center for repair. A few weeks later the machine is back home and in good working condition. With any luck we''ll get ten more months of usage before the problem arises again (hopefully longer, but I won''t hold my breath). With even more luck, Krups will decide to make replacement parts available to the consumer by the time we need a new gasket. We certainly couldn''t afford to mail this machine off every time it needs a new part.

**July 2012

I can now add our machine to the list of those that have blown the foaming wand. Not too long ago I was steaming milk when the wand blew completely off of the machine. The wand ended up in the foaming cup, but the three plastic prongs that hold it in place blew apart and flew across the kitchen.

Thankfully I was only foaming a small amount of milk so had little mess to clean up in that respect.

We''ve used the foaming wand less than a dozen times.

The part is available through Krups, but seems to be permanently out-of-stock.

I''m getting fed up with home espresso machines.

October 2012

Here I am again, continuing the ongoing diary entries concerning this machine....Sigh.

Last month we noticed a crack in the handle of the grounds cup/holder. It nearly encompasses the entire handle (near the metal cup).

We have never cranked on this handle. Never forced it into place. There is absolutely no reason it should have cracked except for the fact that it''s a shoddy plastic part.

We had no problems with our previous Krups model aside from having to replace the rubber gaskets from the six month point on (every three months or so). That was becoming expensive, but seems like little irritation now. That was however why we took the plunge and shelled out more money for what we assumed was going to be a better machine overall. Silly us.

The grounds holder was listed at the Krups website a few days ago as "out-of-stock". When in-stock, it sets the consumer back $30. Today the part is no longer listed. This seems to be a fairly difficult machine to buy replacement parts for, if you can even find them (see the gasket issue above after ten months of ownership).

I''m guessing that translates into a. Krups isn''t manufacturing enough parts for the few who need them, or b. so many people are needing parts that they can''t keep up with demand. I''m thinking.....b?

No matter. We''ve repaired the handle with a hose clamp (available at the hardware store or Home Depot) $1.05 vs. $30. It may not be a permanent fix, then again, it may be. It seems sturdier than it did to begin with. The clamp will at least buy us some time until we figure out what to do next.

One thing is for certain, we are finished with Krups. This is one product I would strongly caution, ''buyer beware''.

My rating has been dropped to reflect the problems that we''ve had with our machine. It still hovers at 3 stars, just barely, and that''s only because it does make a great espresso/Americano when all of the parts are in working order.

We put this item on our wedding registry, and received it as a gift. The espresso that the machine makes is fantastic. The precise tamp system works very well, and we were super pleased with the espresso and lattes it makes.

HOWEVER, the steam wand is the most fragile, bad design I have ever seen. The steam wand is actually PLASTIC, NOT METAL. There is merely a thin, aluminum cover that surrounds the body of the steam wand, but underneath, and more importantly, at the top of the wand, it is ALL made of plastic. And soft, cheap plastic at that. It''s like Krups was trying to save a few bucks in manufacturing by making this part out of cheap plastic instead of steel, which is what it should be made out of.

The wand broke on its own, maybe 6 or 7 times after it was used. Not through some sort of force, or because we handled it too roughly; the wand literally split away from the rest of the machine due to the steam heat coming out of it while we were steaming milk. All of a sudden steam started coming out of the top of the wand, instead of the tip of it, and the milk would not steam. Then the wand fell off. The place where it broke clearly looked like it had partially melted, and just split away from the rest of it where the piece was supposed to be solid.

We took the unit back to the store where we bought it, thinking that this surely must have been due to a manufacturing defect in our unit, since the espresso maker was so well made otherwise. THAT WAS VERY NAIVE OF US. After receiving the replacement unit, we used it again, this time taking EXTRA care in being very gentle with the steam wand. This time, the steam wand worked fine for about 2 months, then all of a sudden the exact same thing happened again. It was CLEARLY the heat causing the plastic to split and separate at the top of the steam wand.

It''s a shame Krups got so cheap and decided to make it this way, because otherwise, we LOVED this machine, and we wish it didn''t have this problem. But BEWARE, DON''T BUY THIS CHEAPLY MADE MACHINE!

If you have read through the earlier customer reviews, you know that the easily broken milk frother has been the reason to avoid purchasing this product. That has changed. Krups redesigned the frother and is now manufacturing it using a more durable plastic. This new frother is available on all new machines. But it is also available free to those of us who already own one of the older machines.

Call the Krups customer service line, 800-526-5377, and request the replacement frother. The person I spoke with didn''t even request proof of purchase. In about ten days the new part arrived. Now I am back to making terrific espresso with this dependable entry-level machine.

After our 10-yr old DeLonghi machine quit working, we wanted another sturdy semi-automatic machine and settled on this Krups model. It feels hefty and well-made compared to others at this price level. After using it for 2 weeks (4 espressos a day), we are very pleased with the design, mostly for how it simplifies working with the coffee grounds. First, you don''t need to tamp grounds into the holder the racheting design automatically tamps the grounds as you twist the holder into place. Secondly, after the grounds have been used, the pop-out button simplifies ejecting the used grounds (the "puck") without having to bang the holder on your counter or garbage can. If you want even MORE simplicity, it holds ESE pods, which are readily available (Starbucks 12 for $4.95). We actually use the ESE pods for our decaffeniated espresso. Now, let''s talk about that frother, which is the subject of most of these reviews. I experimented with the frother wand and had no problems. It worked well. However, most reviewers talk about the frother wand breaking down after months of use. So LISTEN UP I have a little frother secret to share with everyone. We microwave our milk 90 seconds in a tall container, and then use a Bodum battery-operated mini whisk to create foam Bodum Schiuma Battery-Operated Milk Frother and Salad Dressing Set. Using this method, our frothed milk and espresso are ready simultaneously in about 90 seconds, and we don''t have to worry about cleaning dried milk off that frother wand. I love the sturdy efficient Krups machine and feel it''s a great value for under $200.

  • Each portion pack has 1.2oz of Maxwell House Special Delivery Coffee, which makes a 10-12 cup pot of coffee
  • Office coffee Filter packs work well with Bunn, Grindmaster, Mr Coffee and most all drip coffee makers

I do not recommend these at all. The paper is too thick and they taste like it! You get six pushes with 7 filter packs in each pouch. Thus when you open one pouch all 7 filter packs are exposed to air. I really like the masterblend version of these which come in the little packets and you use your own filter. But regardless both are made for 10 cups of water 12 is too weak

We used these for years. So convenient to just pop in a premeasured filter disk and easy disposal after use. Here''s a neat trick we learned, put in a regular filter, then put 1 or 2 small scoops of an expensive strong flavor coffee, and one Maxwell filter pack on top. Makes great coffee, a little stronger than normal and you can vary the taste by using different coffee brands and flavorings.

Toddy T2N Cold Brew System Save 18% Off

Toddy T2N Cold Brew SystemThis thing makes the most wonderful coffee. I am an admitted coffee snob but was suffering from the acid in the coffee I drank. It all ended with this set up. It makes great coffee that is so darn much easier on your system.

It is not without its minor flaws, however. It is a bit more expensive to make coffee this way. Clean up is a bit difficult. The rim of the plastic upper part could be an inch taller.

I am going to tell how I approached each of those problems, it seems to work well for me.

In using the full pound of coffee and 72 ounces of water called for (It soaks for 12 hours per instructions) the top container is filled to the very brim...water and grounds are easily spilled over the top when pressing the grounds down (again per instructions) to assure uniform wetness.

I now use about 75% of a pound of coffee and 90% of the water called for. I place a #4 basket filter over the round Toddy filter to make for a better flow at the end of the process. I leave it all for about 30 hours and it is at least as strong as that obtained by following the instructions provided. Remember...this is not an exact science! I get more cups of coffee per pound this way and also have much easier clean up and less mess in the making. With the coffee and water mixture about an inch below the top of the container, one simply does not make the spills normally encountered.

When done, I let the concentrate run into the carafe per instructions, but then press the outsides of the grounds and then the center to get all the concentrate out...I do this twice. A surprising amount of extra concentrate is saved in this fashion. I then remove the carafe, place a plastic bag over the top of upper unit and invert it into the bag. The round filter is right at the top and I can easily pick it out.

In the sink I have placed a very large bowl (I use a stainless one) and rinse the parts that need it into the bowl. The grounds do not get away or get down my drain. When done I can just toss the bowl of water and grounds rinsed from the filter, etc. into my back yard and the clean up is basically complete.

I have been using the Toddy for more than 2 years and here are some tips and tricks.

1. You don''t have to use 16 oz of coffee to make great tasting cold brew. Fresh dark roast beans do make a difference. I tried pre-ground from a bag and it was so-so, pre-ground from a can had no taste at all.

2. Anything less than 12 oz will cause the lower glass container to overflow when you drain the upper plastic "brew" container.

3. Simply put in 12 to 16 oz of ground coffee like this:

a. 2 cups water before you put in any coffee

b. 6 8 oz ground coffee

c. 3 cups water slowly all around the ground coffee

d. 6 8 oz ground coffee

e. fill slowly to the top making sure to cover all of the grounds.

4. No mater how much coffee you use, anything between 12 and 16 oz, you will almost always have to tap on the top of the grounds with a spoon. This cause the water to rise and soak the dry spots in the grounds. It is helpful to do your tapping before you fill the Toddy to the top. DO NOT STIR the grounds this will clog the filter. You can slowly lower a spoon into the grounds, with the flat of the spoon, and slowly pull up, but do not stir.

5. You can put in a regular industrial size coffee filter along with the regular Toddy sponge like filter to ease clean up, but it does create more compostable waste. Regular coffee filters are too small.

6. I used to reuse the grounds immediately, by putting the coffee solution in another container and then adding water to the already wet grounds, with the plug in of course. Then I waited 12 more hours and doubled my yield. I no longer do this because it made too much coffee and it just sat in the fridge for too long.

7. Let your coffee "steep" cold, of course, for more than 12 hours, say 14, 16, 18 hours, and the caffeine and oil content will increase for a more flavorful cup. After a couple of years, I started going for 24 hours and it makes it even more flavorful.

8. After cleaning up, wet the sponge filter and store it in a plastic food safe bag in the fridge.

9. Tell your family members what the filter is so that they don''t throw it away thinking that it is a molding chunk of cheese ;0)

Now you can taste that smell!

Let me explain: I can''t call myself a coffee addict, but I really enjoy a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I''m a little let down when I walk into a cafe, smell the rich aroma, then taste a cup of coffee that''s either weak, bitter or just too strong. The smell doesn''t match the taste, and that''s a bummer.

With the Toddy system however, even though I don''t get the rich smell of fresh-brewed coffee in the morning, I do get a taste that reminds me of that smell, and that''s far more important. Better still, my girlfriend can make her coffee weaker than mine by simply adding less concentrate. Cups of coffee tailored specifically to your taste!

I''ve tried espresso makers, french press, auto drip and even (dare I say it) instant coffee, and french press is the only type that comes close to the rich flavor. But that said, as I get older (early thirties) acid content becomes a bigger issue for me, and the relatively low acid content in a cup from the Toddy system is more and more appealing.

Now, as much as I like the system I do have a couple of gripes. First, I wish the brewing process was a little more intuitive since it''s time consuming and messy. I brewed my coffee almost a week ago, and I''m still finding grounds hidden here and there. Hence, I wish the brew portion into which the grounds go had a lid.

Second, though it''s easy to figure out through trial and error, a chart in the manual with more detail info on ratios, coffee types and strengths would be helpful. For example, I used Eight O''Clock coffee (I know, it''s not designer coffee, but it tastes pretty good) which isn''t quite as full-flavored a roast as some other coffees. Hence, I find I need to add more concentrate to water. I''m curious what the concentrate will be like when I use a stronger/different roast.

Nonetheless, I gave the Toddy system 5 out of 5 because when it''s all said and done, a brewer is about the cup of coffee it produces, and hands down this is the best cup of coffee I''ve ever made at home.

I have been making iced coffee the cold brew way for a few months with two jars and a strainer. Since I consume so much, I thought I would give the famed Toddy system a try surely so many people couldn''t be wrong. Boy, am I sorely disappointed! I open the package and all you get is a cheap plastic pitcher and a glass carafe. $30 for this is way overpriced! Even so, the price would be fine if it did anything different or better than my makeshift system but it is actually worse, way worse!!! Here are my reasons:

1) The cheap plastic brew container has NO COVER and a FLIMSY STAND. I am going to leave an open, wobbly container full of coffee concentrate on my countertop for 12 hours, does this sound like a good idea? Does it sound sanitary? Unless your house is like a museum, probably not. By contrast my $2 jars have lids imagine that.

2) The filters are so sensitive you cannot stir the grounds and water together to fully soak the grounds. What genius designed this filter? They expect you to go through a delicate dance where you add a few grounds, slowly pour the water in a circular pattern, add some more grounds, slowly add some more water, etc. All so the filter doesn''t CLOG. Who has time for this!? By contrast, when I put water and coffee grounds into my $2 jar, I drop it in and stir with a spoon imagine that! My $1 strainer and 10 cent regular coffee filter removes all the grounds/residue and leaves me with pure concentrate.

3) You have to keep buying their filters and they aren''t cheap! Nowhere had I seen that you had to keep buying their filters they cost $2 each and you can only use them 10 times! And you most likely will end up ordering them over the internet, where you will have to pay shipping. They might end up costing $4 each! Why wouldn''t I just keep using my $1 strainer and 10 cent coffee filters, which works just fine and are easier to get!?

4) Their filters require a lot of care. Every time you use them you have to go through some ridiculous process of storing them in a zip lock bag in the fridge. Again, who the heck has time for this?! My $1 strainer takes 5 seconds to rinse and then I stick it on the drying rack and the 10 cent filter I just throw out!

All in all I am very disappointed with the Toddy system. Not only is it way overpriced, but it is worse than a $5 makeshift alternative. I am using the carafe because I might as well and the brew container is now used in my son''s bath...

I hope this helps people to see the light about this product.

This makes, quite simply, the best coffee you''ve had in your life. Make it any way you want--hot, cold, espresso strength, American strength. I started with expensive coffees but am now quite happily using Folger''s Special Roast. The cold-brew process makes delicious coffee even with the cheap stuff. I have become something of a cold-brew-coffee snob: I only drink toddy coffee at home, and when I''m out and forced to drink regular hot-brewed coffee, I cringe and can never finish a whole cup. This is literally a life-changing brewing method. The plastic handle they now include, while not absolutley necessary, is a nice bonus. ONE IMPORTANT THING: don''t follow the instructions included as far as the technique for making the coffee, namely, 2 cups then 5 cups then 2 cups water added in stages. Instead, do 3 cups 3 cups 3 cups. When I used the 2-5-2 method, the thing would get clogged every single time, which is a real problem when you''re dealing with a large quantity of coffee concentrate. Using the 3-3-3 method, I haven''t had a clog or a slow "bleed" once; coffee comes pouring out as if from a firehose once I pull the stopper. I also ensure no dry grounds by, about an hour after initial setup, scraping coffee up from around the edge of the brewer into a pile in the middle, leaving behind a ring of already-dampened grounds at the sides; then I add another 1/2-1 cup of water, pouring it on the pile in the middle so that the grounds level out again and the brewer is really _full_. I''ve found the Holy Grail of coffee makers and I won''t look back my life long.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Save 50% Off

Keurig B60 Special Edition Brewing SystemIf you''re reading this review, you''re most likely doing research and trying to decide between the Keurig line (B40,B50,B60), the Tassimo, or the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig is the best looking, the most durable, has the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The Tassimo''s versatility is tempting, but variety of coffees is lacking, the machine is a first-run model that does not feel as quality as the Keurig (I could barely find a piece of metal in the entire thing), and it cannot be set to warm itself up like the Keurig. The Senseo isn''t bad and I may even consider getting it as a second machine, but it is kind of lame how you need two pods to brew an 8 oz cup of coffee. Considering the price of pods that I was looking at, it would outprice both the Keurig and the Tassimo for daily usage.

Between the Keurig models (B40,B50,B60), I spent a lot of time trying to decide and eventually went with the B60, mainly because the B60 is the only model that brews 3 different sizes of coffee--5.25, 7.25, and 9.25oz. The B50, a favorite amongst shoppers, does not offer the 9.25oz size. This large size allows my Oxo travel mug to almost completely fill after using one Extra Bold K-cup. As an added benefit of the B60, you get beautiful blue LEDs behind the display and the water tank, as well as a polished chrome handle and polished chrome outer-ring to the display. It looks very modern and very classy in my otherwise boring kitchen. Highly recommended.

I bought a Keurig after reading all of the reviews about it. I thought to myself, surely this machine has a lot of hype to live up to.

Not only did it pass the hype test, it did so with flying colors.

Let me just say that if you are doing research on this machine, you will discover that people just rave about it. Review after review say it is worth the investment.

Add this review to that list.

PROS:

It works not just as a coffee maker, there are also tea K-Cups available and it also can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds. So if you have a tea bag and just want hot water, there is not need to use a kettle. Ever.

You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend.

It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed. No grinds in the bottom of the cup. No wasting away of drinking coffee in the morning.

KEURIG''S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called then at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine. The customer service guy (had a Boston accent) was very nice and answered all my questions. He also registered the machine (it was a "gift"to myself :-)), so there was no need to mail in the warranty card.

The blue LED lights are the best kept secret about this machine. It is very modern and fits into any kitchen, both during the day and at night.

CONS:

The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That''s ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON... They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don''t want to get stuck with 50 K-cups of a flavor you don''t like.

If you are having a group of people over, it''s definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here''s the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it''s a great conversation piece.

The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most travel mugs once you mix in the creamer.

Let''s be frank. It''s expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obviously, people love this machine, and for good reason.

It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, and in the long term, this machine pays itself off.

BOTTOM LINE:

If you''re reading this review, you obviously care about what other people think before you spend $100+ on a freaking coffee maker. Don''t worry. I was in your shoes. But there is a peace of mind that comes along knowing that you made the right choice. Do as much research as you can and get as many opinions as you can. But just remember that thousands of satisfied Keurig customers can''t be wrong.

Good luck.

I purchased this machine from Williams-Sonoma and it did come with the "My K-Cup" personal ground coffee filter. I experimented in every way possible as soon as I took it out of the package. The pods work great, but I was skeptical at first about the more "economical" alternative---using the "my k-cup" filter with regular ground coffee. Well, I tried it...and it was excellent. The manual suggests using 2 tbs. of ground coffe in the filter (which IS marked at 1 tbs. and at 2 tbs.) and holds up to 2.7 tbs. to give you room to play if you like stronger coffee. I filled the filter all the way to the top and brewed 2 medium sized cups in a row....both were perfect.

The machine also does hot water, of course, for tea and hot chocolate....but I tried to take it a step further by placing a regular tea bag (minus the string and tag) into the chamber...and it brewed perfectly. So, loose tea in the "my k-cup" filter would also turn out great, I''m sure.

All in all, this is truly a QUICK, versatile, SUPERB coffee machine. Great for myself, who enjoys decaf and tea, and also for my husband who prefers strong as strong can get. He can have his cup, then I can have mine right after. No mess....no cleaning (except for having to clean the my k-cup filter, which is a breeze), and MANY options from a small, simple machine. Well worth the money. I can''t wait to use it when I have guests....that way everyone can have exactly whatever kind of coffee or tea they want and without a wait!

Finally, I found the easy no clean up fast coffee maker that I need for my busy lifestyle. The k-pods are awesome I use it for coffee and tea, it''s so easy. Just put in the k-pod push a button and you have your beverage. Great taste no fuss no mess or a chance of an exploding pod a great size water reserve and a cool look. I''ve bought so many coffee makers over the years and I finally found a keeper.

One thing you can''t make a pot but this machine is ready for the next cup in 30 seconds (fast) and my guest love choosing their favorite flavor, (there are so many to choose from) so I haven''t missed the pot at all.

I''m a coffee snob, plain and simple. I have a high end espresso machine, burr grinder, several french presses and an assortment of drip coffee makers along with a wonderful vintage vacuum machine. But, on a recent vacation, the condominium I was staying at came equiped with one of the Keurig machines and there were a few K-containers of assorted blends in the cupboard. Expecting nothing more than ordinary "motel room" coffee, I figured out how to use the Keurig, fired it up, put in a nondescript K-cup of "Columbian" and brewed a small cup while I was getting ready to head out in the morning. I won''t say I was shocked, but I was certainly impressed. That cup was significantly better than it should have been given the pre-packaged, pre-ground coffee and the somewhat "gimicky" appeal of the system. I purchased some additional "k-cups" that day from a local store and continued to have easy, no mess morning coffee for the rest of my stay.

When I got back one of the first things I did was investigate the Keurig and I wound up getting a B-60 along with several boxes of K-cup coffees. Is it as good a 100% Blue Mountain in a french press or Chemix drip maker? No, but it is pretty darn good coffee that is consistent from cup to cup with literally no mess.

The machine operates pretty much the same way as an auto espresso maker with the K-cup replacing the espresso handle and filter. Hot water from a removable tank is heated and then injected into the K-cup after the machine punctures the cup''s top and bottom. On this particular model one can adjust the size of the cup and the temperature of the brew, though this is a rather narrow range. I got the best results from the smallest cup size and a 190 degree temp setting, but LIKE WITH ALL COFFEE MAKERS, BUYING ONLY THE FRESHEST K-CUPS AND USING GOOD QUALITY BOTTLED WATER, will be necessary to get the best results. The bottom line is that one can easily get a good decent cup of coffee in less than a minute (if you leave the machine on all the time) with practically no mess. Do I use it all the time? No, but for a single cup in the middle of the day, or if you only want one or two cups in the morning, it''s a simple, no mess fix. I also, got the available permanent filter and have had good success with my own grinds, though you do have to futz with the settings a little.

The only reason I''m not giving it 5 stars is because of the initial and ongoing cost over conventional coffee brewing methods. But it does make very good coffee and is clearly superior to most auto drip coffee makers using store bought pre ground coffee.

Second Generation Coffeeduck PERMANENT Refillable Coffee Filter Save 20% Off

Second Generation Coffeeduck PERMANENT Refillable Coffee Filter for the Senseo SUPREME & DELUXE ONLYFor starters, this definitely DOES work with the Senseo Supreme that Amazon sells. I don''t know what problems other people had, but I have a suspicion that it comes from how sensitive this is to correctly loading the coffee.

The Coffeeduck works great if you use it correctly.

I''m giving it four stars, instead of five, because it''s tedious to use. And if you don''t read the instructions and pay attention to what it says then you''re going to be unhappy. I''ve had this for two weeks, using it about five times a day, and I''ve got the routine figured out. If you''re not mechanically inclined then you probably won''t like this. A friend watched me use this and immediately said "I''m just going to stick with the pods".

You cannot fill the Coffeeduck all the way to the physical top of the metal carrier. If you do this then the Senseo will not close. I suspect that this might have been the problem for the other reviewers here that said these aren''t compatible. Instead you fill it to a smaller lip 2/3 of the way up (the instructions describe this, but you need to pay attention to the instructions). The tricky bit is that you need to get all the coffee crumbs off of that lip, which can be tedious. If you don''t do this correctly then things won''t work well (the Senseo won''t close, or you''ll get watery coffee, or it will leak water).

Also, if you pack in the coffee too much then the Senseo won''t be able to pump the water through the coffee, and instead the water will come spewing out the sides of the machine and all over your countertop. I don''t think there''s anything the coffeeduck designers could have done to improve this. It''s just something you''re going to have to learn.

Note: I suspect the Coffeeduck for the base model Senseo is easier to use. The metal coffee carrier for that unit is smaller, and there won''t be the internal lip, making cleaning off the excess coffee crumbs far easier (fill it, wipe it, and go). If you haven''t bought a Senseo yet, and you think that a Coffeeduck will be one of your primary uses, then I would get the base model Senseo along with the Coffeeduck Classic that is designed for it. If I had that model I would probably give it five stars.

This has been my favorite purchase of 2009. We have a Senseo Supreme and our coffee selections were very limited until Coffeeduck. It works perfectly every time, but should only be used with finely ground coffee.

Use fine grind and it won''t leak any water. Espresso grind won''t allow the water to filter through.

I own the Senseo SL7832/55 Single Serve Supreme Coffee Machine, Chrome. None of the Coffeeduck items mention this model. I contacted them in Holland and they told me this model would work in the 7832/55 but it doesn''t. It fits too tight and strains the Senseo machine to close the lid. Since it doesn''t fit, I really can''t review it.

Want Second Generation Coffeeduck PERMANENT Refillable Coffee Filter Discount?

Pros:

1. Works with Senseo SL7832/55 Supreme.

2. Saves money over time since Senseo pouch averages about 25-60 cents per cup of

coffee.

3. More choices of coffee. You''re no longer limited to what the Senseo offers.

Cons:

1. Must use fine grinds in order to work properly. Unless you can get a grinder

that gets you the perfect grind everytime, you will probably experience water

leakage and grinds overflowing in the machine from time to time. Packing the

coffee grinds too tight will result in grind/water leakage also.

2. Time consuming to fill and clean. Like another reviewer mentioned, you have to

be careful when filling the coffee and keep the rim clean of any coffee grind.

After the brew, you will end up with quite a bit of watery sludge which could be

time consuming to clean.

3. Less or no foam. If you like the foam produced by the Senseo pods, you''ll be

disappointed with the amount of (or lack of) foam the coffeeduck produces.

Conclusion:

While the Coffeeduck works as advertised, I feel that it defeats the purpose of buying a Senseo machine, which is the ease of use in the first place. With the Senseo, you can have a brewed cup of coffee with 2 press of buttons within a minute. With the Coffeeduck, I traded the convenience for the freedom of packing my own coffee grind. Unlike using the coffee pods, it has been difficult to get a consistent cup of coffee using the Coffeeduck. If you want the same convenience of using a Senseo pod but with your own coffee, I would suggest trying out other methods of using a paper coffee filter first.

Niagara Earth Massage 1.25GPM Low flow showerhead

Niagara Earth Massage 1.25GPM Low flow showerhead
  • Corrosion-resistant, high-impact ABS thermoplastic body
  • Adjustable 9-jet turbo massage
  • Consistent flow rate, regardless of water pressure
  • ?Self-cleaning, non-aerated spray, making it maintenance free
  • 1.25 gpm saves you up to 30% more energy and water

I''m not the kind of person who needs to be hit with water from 14 different angles to say I had an adequate shower, and I don''t have a pathological need to feel every square inch of my skin deluged in water simultaneously (uh... take a bath?). I''ve never fallen in love with a shower head, and when I''ve had shower heads available that did the swirlies or the pulsies or the steam or what-not, I never used those features.

To me, most of the plain jane shower heads I''ve experienced in my life provided perfectly adequate showers.

However, a few years ago, I got interested in saving water, and since then I''ve bought and installed on my own homes several different low-flow shower heads, including the Oxygenics Skin Care 1.5 gpm showerhead, Oxygenics Body Spa 2.0 gpm handheld, the no-name hardware store 2.0 gpm showerheads, and this Niagara Earth Massage 1.25 gpm showerhead.

This Niagara 1.25 gpm showerhead is the best of the bunch, and better than most plain jane shower heads. When we swapped out the shower head in my last house (your average 2.5 gpm model) for this 1.25 gpm head, my kids actually thought I''d put in a HIGHER-flow shower head, because the spray felt more forceful. But looking at how much less water was puddling around my feet with the Niagara shower head, it was very clear to me that there was a LOT LESS water going down the drain.

In the two years we used it, it never leaked, it never broke, and it never clogged. Considering its low price, I have to say that it''s a very high-value shower head. Next I would like to try the Bricor UltraMax in this new house we just moved into, but since it seems to be unavailable from the manufacturer, I''ll be ordering another Niagara 1.25gpm now. What happened to my old one? I never move a low flow shower head with me... I always leave it where I install it, for the next person to benefit from!

I needed to reduce the flow of my water in an effort to put off replacing the hot water heater that I''d already adjusted the temperature on...and still couldn''t get a hot shower for longer than 10 minutes. This does the trick. It was easy to install and no tape/special tools required aside from the correct size wrench. The three settings are nice, but I like a high pressure shower so really only one works for me. I wouldn''t say the water pressure is amazing, as some other reviews say, but it is decent. (That may vary from location to location though.) I wouldn''t mind it a bit stronger. I''ve had a nice long 20 minute shower this morning and couldn''t be happier about that so mission accomplished. One note--this showerhead may be good for small children just starting to take their own showers. Some children are afraid of the shower/used to baths and on one of the settings it is basically like a sprinkle so that may help get them used to it.

I started out with the Niagara 1.5gpm showerhead, at the time i wasn''t aware they had a 1.25gpm head as well. Out of curiosity i ordered the 1.25 head to see if i can save a bit more while still having a comfortable shower experience. I figured i''d save 2.5 gallons on each 10 min long shower, which if you factor in a family household; can add up to a savings of a few hundred gallons a year. Compared to the 1.5gpm head, i actually like this new one better. The stream is a bit more thinner and it feels like there''s more pressure behind it. I find it wakes me up in the morning, with a refreshing sting like feeling on the skin. The ring of water does leave a large gap in the middle, more so then the 1.5 head version. But it really isn''t all that bad, and far from a deal breaker. I also found that this shower head rinses out my hair better, because of the more pressurized stream.

At the price and gpm rating, this showerhead can''t be beat. Even from switching from the 1.5 to the 1.25. I figure it''ll pay back for it''s self in a month and a half.

I bought a house with a recently renovated bath. The previous owner had installed an oversized rainfall showerhead in a very small shower stall. This meant that anyone under six feet tall could not avoid getting a face full of water or a shampoo (whether intended or not) when showering. To make matters worse, the water flow was so weak that it took a long time to rinse my hair, so that the water would be cold by the end of the shower.

I installed the Niagara Earth Massage 1.25 GPM shower head, and it was instant gratification: a directed flow, good force behind the water, and I have not since run out of hot water! Showers are faster, less aggravating, and (theoretically, at least) cheaper! Considering the low price of this shower head and the returns in personal comfort, it is an excellent bargain!

I do have one gripe, though. The shower is only forceful in its two extreme settings "Shower" or "Massage". When set between the two, the flow reduces to a feeble trickle. (I wonder if the reviews complaining about the force of the water flow were due to the owners not adjusting the setting.)

Well my package arrived today with this shower head. The goal of this purchase was simple, lower my water bill. Although I have yet to take my first shower, I had this thing installed in less than 10 minutes. With the exception of the fact that I needed a wrench to get the old head off, I would not have needed any tools or teflon.

After running the water for a minute or so, I a struggling to tell the difference between the 2.5g per minute head I removed. Hard to believe that i''m using 1 gal less per minute. Considering that my girlfriends daughter take 15 minute shower, that''s a lot of water.

I''ll update this after a shower..
