Whirlpool WHED20 Undersink Water Filtration System
I have had this for some time, replaced the filters twice. After replacing the filters the second time, it started to leak where the number one filter connects to the bracket. Didn''t notice it until it ruined the floorboards of my kitchen cabinet and soaked underneath. It will be a mess to clean up. I saw another reviewer with the same problem. A very expensive mess, and costly replacement of the bracket. Get something better quality.PS: After considering my options, either buy replacement parts, or get something different, I decided to try a Zero water filter. I got one for less then the cost of replacement filters.
I had purchased the whirlpool filter so I wouldn''t have to continue buying bottled water for coffee. After I got My zero water, I tested my tap water: 355. i tested the water out of the filter: 333. Bottled water is supposed to be in the low teens. Zero water tested 000. So, after all of the expense to get water that is of the same quality as bottled, I now find that it was a complete waste of money, it didn''t do squat. No wonder my coffee maker was still getting plugged with crap and had to be cleaned so often. Education is expensive. If you want good quality water for coffee, the Whirlpool won''t give it to you.don''t waste your money on this product.....very poor quality.....after only the 3rd filter change, the unit cracked and leaked. Company said I probably overtightened the filter....I assure you that did not happen. Thin plastic and poor design!!

I had the same issue as other reviewers. I replaced the main unit twice when it leaked after replacing the cartridges 2 time each only.It is leaking for the third time in less than 3 years and this time I''m ripping the system out. Do not waste your time with this unit, do not risk a leak under your sink.

I live in the country on a very clean well. Installed the unit (cheaply constructed-chrome on plastic faucet). Just a dribble coming out. I doubt I can put up with it very long and will spend more money to correct the problem.Want Whirlpool WHED20 Undersink Water Filtration System Discount?
The unit worked fine until I had to replace the filter. Now there is a leak where the first filter hooks up. I don''t see an easy fix other than to replace the unit.Compatible Reverse Osmosis Membrane Filter

Brita Soft Squeeze Water Filter Bottle Replacement Filters (2 Count) Save 19% Off
For living in an area that is known to not have the greatest of water in the first place, the taste with the filtered water bottle and without are from two completely different worlds! To include the nasty water from the drinking fountain in my work''s building, it is like a clean fresh bottle of spring water. Great investment, especially for being pregnant and trying to be as healthy as possible.I use this at work and able to get nice cold water from the drinking fountain and the large mouth of the bottle allows me to fill the bottle to the top.The water taste much better than tap water and is safer than bottled water, not to mention the recycling issue with plastic bottles.
Good purchase.

This jug does seem to filter water a bit faster than the brita models. Taste is outstanding, it definitely improves the quality of my tap water. Design is a bit odd, but I didn''t find it nearly as frustrating as the other reviewer.Water tastes great, easy to fill, cant expect much more! I am not sure why others had such a hard time filling this, but it may be that they had the water on full blast. You definitely have to let the water trickle in or I simply fill a water bottle and pour accordingly. As for the complaint about having to lift up the spout flap, yes you do need to do this but i find it a little ridiculous to complain about the combined second it takes to open and close. As a matter of fact I have found this to be a help! Twice now the container has been dropped. Not only did the container itself hold up well, but that little flap stayed closed and not a drop of water spilled. I have had this product for 2 months now and am very happy with it.Buy Bobble 64-Ounce Jug with Filter Now
All in all, this filter jug is easy to use and does its job. You insert the filter, then pour the water through the filter into the water jug -it filters through at a steady pace and fills the jug up in less than 30 secs. At least, this is how I fill the jug. Others may choose to remove the filter holder (which is not the way this jug seems to designed for) and pour the water directly into the jug. I understand the previous poster''s comment about the flap that closes over the lip of the jug. It doesn''t work very well. I just leave it open. This is a revolution. It is not ginormous, it is just right and fits in the door. Little ones can use to pour water at the table. I say two is better than none. This little pitcher is great for my daughter''s dorm refrigerator. We are used to the Brita for our fridge at home, but is was much too big for her small dorm one. Easy to grab, easy to fill. Much better than buying bottled water!Gallery FGUN2642LF 25.8 Cubic Ft French Door Refrigerator

- Humidity-Controlled Crisper Drawers, Designer Lighting
- SpaceWise organization system, best in class ice & water filtration system
- Effortless Glide Crisper And Freezer Freezer Drawer
- Ice-Maker,Suplemental Ice, Quick Ice
- 4 Spill safe Sliding Shelves-Saver Technology, Automatic Alerts
Owned this for six months now. It''s roomy. Has a wide thin storage drawer, which works well for my vegetable and cheese trays. Has two deep veggie/fruit drawers. Jugs of milk easily fit in the doors. It runs quiet except I do notice the sound of ice dropping when the house is quiet, and it resists fingerprints better than most stainless steel.
The one area where I have had trouble is the ice maker. It worked great at first, but after a few months the output diminished, then completely stopped. A repairman came out but he couldn''t pinpoint the problem. It started working again anyway. A few months later the problem happened again. I called Frigidaire and mentioned in passing that the water filters through our separate reverse osmosis system before it goes to the ice maker. Ah-ha, said the service department, that''s the problem. Water pressure on an osmosis system hovers around 20 psi. The ice maker needs minimum 30 psi to function properly. I also mentioned we''re out in the country and have a well. Double-whammy against the ice maker.
For reverse osmosis and/or wells the fridge needs a bypass filter. This replaces the regular standard filter that comes with it. The filters are super easy to change. Just open the fridge door and there it is in the back--top right corner.
The silver lining in this story is once you insert the bypass filter (about $40.00) it never needs replaced. BTW, the regular standard filter (about $40.00) that comes with the fridge needs replaced about every six months. $40.00 once versus $40.00 twice a year--you do the math. My understanding is most makes and model containing ice makers need filters of some kind, so there''s no way around it.

I have owned a similar Frigidaire Gallery unit (ice maker in the freezer) for 18 months now and I would NOT purchase this unit, or any similar unit, from Frigidaire again. Here''s the issue I have had the Ice maker replaced once (I''m on my second ice maker) and every so often, the mechanism freezes over. The problem is that the mechanism that fills the ice tray is gravity fed. Something goes wrong, and the ice maker spews water all over the inside of your freezer. And your ice maker... And the large gears that the freezer door relies on to open and close.
So, last night, my freezer door is completely frozen shut. I nearly broke the unit (not to mention my back, legs) trying to get the freezer door open so that I could spend 45 minutes at a really odd angle with a blow dryer trying to melt and chip away at the iceberg that was the left side, back and bottom of this freezer unit.

The Sharper Image Ultrasonic Humidifier Demineralization Cartridges
If you have a sharper image humidifier, and you see white dust all over your room, then you need this. Mine came with one of these and it really does work. It basically floats around in the water tank and absorbs minerals. It lasts about four months which, where I live, is about one season. It is a bit overpriced. Its not much bigger than your thumb and yet it''s $20. But it''s worth it if it works.Product itself it fine. At first I thought the price was ridiculously high for one cartridge, but when it arrived I found there are four cartridges in the package -which it does say in the fine print on this web site, but I failed to see that. So I think the price is okay for four of them. However, I still got it cheaper online from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.Buy The Sharper Image Ultrasonic Humidifier Demineralization Cartridges Now

I bought this filter to replace an older filter that had a leaking pressure relief valve. The install was easy and the filter works great. The filter wrench is not shown correctly in Amazon''s picture. The actual wrench is a full circle the goes around the filter cup which is better than the C shaped wrench shown. The shutoff/bypass valve is easy to turn even under pressure. The clear filter cup is very usefull. I have well water and I''ve always known my filters don''t last long. Now with the clear filter cup I can see how bad the incoming water is.Want Watts WH-LD Premier Whole House Filter System Discount?
I installed a watts WH filter as above to replace a Sears WH filter. After 6 cartridge changes the "O" ring at the inlet port in the head failed, rendering the filter useless. I contacted Watts Premier and was told taking apart the head would render the warranty void. Since it was inoperative I thought this was a bit of information I didnt need. Taking the head apart , which involved removal of one phillips head screw , is not exactly rocket science. Watts told me the "O" rings were not available from them and they did not manufacture the unit. I was not able to find an exact replacement " O" but was able to make one out of 3/16" round Neoprene stock. If anyone has experienced this problem and can tell me where to get a replacement "O" ring I would appreciate hearing from you. Also Watts failed to tell me the name of the manufacture so I could contact them for parts.I have city water. After all the planning and sweating copper and valves together,
I finally got to the easy part; installation of the filter assembly.
Forget the teflon tape; use pipe dope liberally and select big pipe wrenches. DON''T wrench the housing.
Oh my gosh, the cartidge went orange with rust within just a few seconds!!
I left that cartridge in for a week and upped the frequency of recharges on my seemingly dead water softener.
Without the oily rust in the system, my water softener has been resurected!

Melitta 1.7-Liter Cordless Kettle Save 29% Off
I have wanted a variable temperature tea kettle for a long time but as I already have a great electric pot, I was hesitant to invest another $100 or so. Leave it to Melita to offer a quality product at a more reasonable price. The kettle heats quickly, the interior is all stainless (no plastic), and feels sturdy. According to my instant read thermometer, it heats it bit high, but the temperature knob is easily adjustable so I just turned it down a bit. In four months, I''ve had no problems. My oolong tea tastes SO MUCH better when brewed at the right temperature. And green tea is not the least bitter when treated correctly :) If you enjoy tea and all the health benefits, or want to learn to enjoy it, this kettle is a great investment. Melitta 1.7-Liter Cordless KettleReturned after a few days because there is no discrete setting for water temperature. It had a rheostat but did not show a temperature scale. I tried it a various positions but it could not produce water at the same temperature time after time. I would check the temp with a pro quality digital thermometer and the temp would wander all over.I paid 46.88 for the Melitta on Amazon and ordered a Saeco 101167 50-Ounce Electric Water Kettle for 39.99 that has what appears to be an accurate temp setting, digital temp display, a 2 hour temp hold feature and cool lighting system that does nothing of value but is a cute feature.
The Saeco does a better job, has far more useful features and costs about $7.00 dollars less.

For $60, this is less costly than the other digitally control kettle. And it serves my tea well. I drink green tea (matcha) and white tea (peony tea) and the boiling water kind of ''wiped out'' some of the taste. The control is a sliding lever with a red LED. Lowest temperature is for green tea, and highest is boiling. I have been using this for over a week, several times a day.
I am sure those fancy digital kettle price will come down, but until then, this one is all right.

Pros:quick heating
adjustable temperature by rheostat
minimal plastic exposure in the construction for plastic-phobes (only in the water level gauge)
Hamilton Beach manufactures the kettle, so it''s made by a company with a track record with small appliances
360 degree rotation on base
Cons (potential):
no audible alarm when done, just clicks (no issue for me since I use it on my desk in the office)
not insulated (again, not an issue for me, but might be for some)
temp not digitally controlled, so you''ll have to accept that the temperature setting will be within a range, not pinpoint
stupid adhesive on stupid label leaves a ghost-like residue on the outside of the kettle (if 2012 has not brought us hover cars or robot slaves, it should at least have brought us adhesives that consistently do not leave residue on products is that asking too much?)
I purchased this kettle to make coffee at the office with an aeropress, which is most effective when using water at sub-boiling temps. When I first got it, I confirmed that the lowest setting will get the water to *around* 175 degrees F pretty consistently using a cook''s thermometer. I think this is also the desired temp for certain types of tea, but I don''t know/care much about that.
It''s been working fine for a few months now, and the four star rating just reflects my subjective formula for balancing price against features I think the price is a wee inflated. I would still recommend this product to anyone looking for an adjustable temp kettle and who doesn''t get their knickers in a knot about perfectly exact temperatures.

I am very happy with this kettle, although I have only had it for a week, so its durability is yet to be tested. It is almost all metal inside, except for the lid, filter and parts of the water-level. I was worried about BPA-leaching plastic and this was the best I could find in a variable temperature kettle, especially for this price ($45 all others are usually 60-80 dollars), although it does not say that the plastic that is present inside (however little) is BPA-free. I suppose you''d have to contact the seller to find out, but it''s probably safe to assume that if it doesn''t say "BPA-free" that it''s not. In any case, I think the only ones that are completely metal inside just have one temp (boil).
The water heats up really quickly. I have not measured the temperature for each temp setting, but I can definitely tell that the water for "green tea" is adequate and does not come out as hot as for "black tea", which is boiling. There are temps marked for green, white, oolong and black, although you can slide the dial to any point in between.
It doesn''t alert you with a "beep" or anything when the water is ready, but if you are close to it you can hear it heating up and then stopping after a slight "click" sound.
The cord is rather short, but this is not a problem for me and it is one that can be easily solved with an extension cord.
Also, it shipped pretty quickly.
All in all, a great purchase.
Keurig Signature Brewer Machine
so far so good on this, only drawback wish the biggest cup was 12 oz, but I have learned to work around that, so if you want a bigger serving you may want to go ahead and purchase the Vue system that allows you to make a larger cup and choose your coffee strengths. No waste, with our regular coffee maker we were always throwing out unused coffee.
You also get a variety of samples, wish they had put some hot chocolate samples in it, and more teas. We do not care for the bold coffee, so far our choice is the Nantucket and the Hazelnut.
Others have made comments about the noise, it does make a noise when pumping and heating the water, it is not as bad as some make it out to be.
I also recommend you invest in a couple of the Ekocups they are wonderful & easy to use.I did a lot of research and this machine is the best value.. It is great that you get 36 k cups and

Bio-clean Drain Septic Bacteria Save $0.04 Off
I purchased Bio Clean based on the recommendation of the plumber. The instructions say that the use of the product might lead to an initial clog. The reason being is that the bacteria is loosing up the build-up on the pipe walls and pieces can come off and then clog. Bio-Clean then suggests plunging to push through. So, the frustration one poster is having is actually reflecting that Bio-Clean is working and the pipes must have been caked with lots of build-up. Once the build-up is gone then Bio-Clean seems to work as a maintenance strategy to not allow for the build-up. Another thing I read on the instructions is to start the product in the basement FIRST and then move upstairs. This is to clear way for upstairs build-up to come through. I am wondering if the frustrated poster did this. I have noticed a better flow in the drains by following instructions.Hi, I''m chiming in because I have struggled with slow drains for 18 years at my house and I am liking bioclean. Here''s my story, I live in a 100 year old house with very old galvanized tub and sink drain pipes that drain very slow because the inside of the pipes are caked with years of built-up sludge. About 2 years ago, I had a plumber cut out a 5 foot section of a 2" sink drain pipe and replace it because the galvanize pipe developed a leak (a small hole) from rot. When I did this, I personally saw that the passageway for water to drain in this pipe was about the size of a dime because of build-up inside of this 2" pipe. Snaking DOES NOT remove this sludge, the head of the snake just goes down the dime size path. Anyhow... I can''t replace all the piping because 75% of my piping is hidden in walls and ceilings, so I decided to start using one of these products. I chose bioclean and I''ve been using bioclean for 2 years now and I finally see it working. The first year, the Bioclean creates a few blockages because it loosens the sludge and hair and that debris gets stuck in those dime size canals. Just like the directions say, a plunger usually forces the loosened debris through, sometimes I used a snake in that first year. However, it''s been two years and I never snake anymore, so I am becoming a believer now too. it takes a long time (2 years!) for this good bacteria to really start eating through and loosen years of built-up sludge. I treat once a month. here''s how I do it... I pour warm water into that cup they give you, and I stir in the dry bioclean and I let that warm cup with Bioclean sit on my counter for 20-25 minutes so these little critters can COME TO LIFE, then I pour the mix down the drain and try not to use that sink or tub for at least overnight (if not longer!) so the little critters can really build up their population and dig into the built up sludge and live within the sludge inside of the pipes. Whenever I go on vacation I do a treatment so it can REALLY build up in the pipes, while I am away. Unfortunately, liquid drain cleaners, bleach and things like mouthwash can kill the living bio-clean that are in your pipes so you have to keep that in mind and read all the paperwork they provide when you buy this stuff. This stuff does work, it''s all about patience, using a plunger every once in a while during that first year and building up the population as well as doing it monthly and not killing the bacteria with household chemicals. Additionally, I think putting bioclean in a toilet is probably just wasting the product as you are simply flushing it down the drain at high speed into the sewer, you want to focus on sink and tub drains and for the bioclean to live and work (feast) within your sink and tub lines. It''s been 2 Years and I''m finally starting to see results!Buy Bio-clean Drain Septic Bacteria Now

This is the kind of product you can''t really tell if it''s working for a long, long time, but I didn''t use it for about a year and my drains started to flow very slowly. I had been using it regularly for about two or three years and had no problems, but kept forgetting to re-order and things slowed down.I would not recommend it to open a drain unless you can wait a couple of weeks for the little bugs to do their job, but as a safe way to keep drains behaving it seems to be a good alternative. After having a recurrent sewage smell from our master bathroom shower drain, my mom suggested this product to me. I followed the directions of using it once a day for five consecutive days and then once a month thereafter. I am so pleased with the results and am, therefore, so glad to know about this product. It worked wonders, and I plan to keep up with using it once a month as a way of maintaining the cleanliness of our shower drain. Thankfully, after two years of having that sewage smell, we have not smelled it again since using this product.
