Perfectly good water filter. But, for OUR family of four each filter does well for 3 months, then the flow rate is significantly reduced. Frustration boils over around 5 months and I buy a new one.

This filter is defected after runing water a few times to clean up the filter now every morning the filter dischare carbon black water coming from dispencer, I never had problem before.

I HAD TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM AT A HIGHER PRICE BECAUSE IT SEEMS AMAZON DIDN''T GET THE MEMO THAT IT WAS OK TO SHIP THIS PRODUCT TO CALIFORNIA. THE HAZ MAT ISSUE WAS RESOLVED SOME TIME AGO. I HOPE BY NEXT YEAR WHEN I WILL NEED A REPLACEMENT IT WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE LOWER COST.

Maybe it is the housing for the filter, and not the filter, but this last time I replaced the filter, it was very tough to detach. It took a lot of strength to rotate and remove the filter. The same with installing the new one. Difficult to rotate and secure into place. The filter itself, once installed, is wonderful and lasts a year, which is a long time for something that gets used a lot everyday.
