We''ve been using it for a couple weeks now and it makes a fine cup of coffee, just like the last one did. I noticed right away, that a few things that turned out to be issues with the last model had been fixed or improved upon with this one.
1) The grinder compartment is much better separated from the water reservoir and also designed better for all the grounds to go into the filter basket. The older model always left a bit of a mess, both in the grinder compartment and on the little shelf that separated the filter basket from the coffee pot, and around the burner plate. I haven''t seen any of that mess with this model. I can''t tell you how happy that makes me.
2) The little shelf I spoke about in #1 is now gone. That''s a plus. Since this maker is designed better, it isn''t needed anyway. Also, this shelf caused build up around the door latch making it hard to shut after a very short time. I''m glad it''s gone.
3) The filter basket door mechanism is far better designed. The old model I had to slam shut, sometimes repeatedly, before it would stay shut. This one has a much better and more sturdy hinge mechanism and latch.
4) New to this model (the old one didn''t have this) is a window on the side so you can see how much water you''re pouring in. It''s clearly marked and has a red floating ball to make it easy to see. I really like this feature.
The grinder seem a little louder than the old one, but I''ve never met a coffee grinder that wasn''t loud and it''s only for a very short time. I love having freshly ground coffee first thing in the morning.
As far as cleanup goes for the grinding assembly and filter basket, it only takes a minute or two. Aside from the coffee pot itself, there are 5 pieces to clean and it really is quick and easy to empty the filter basket and rinse the pieces.
In short, this is fine coffee maker, much improved from the DGB-600BC, and I am happy we upgraded to it.

Let me start by admitting that I am a novice when it comes to drinking coffee, much less owning coffee machines. This is the first coffee machine I''ve ever bought, but I''ve been very happy with it thus far. If you purchase it, definitely read the directions as there are a couple of small points they bring out, that you wouldn''t otherwise know. (For instance, when you place the goldtone coffee filter in, the handle which can rest in either direction, must face outwards.) I just mention this, since I am usually one to NOT read directions, and I''m sure most others who have owned coffe machines wouldn''t either, but it seems valuable in this particular case. The main reason I went with this unit, was Cuisineart had the only ones in Bed Bath & Beyond which can be programmed to grind then brew. I leave it on my desk at work, and have it programmed to grind/brew right before I arrive in the morning. And it''s awesome. Only used it several times so far, but no complaints. Cleaning is relatively easy but (like any other coffee brewer/grinder I assume) you have to clean it every day. Not a big deal though, so far I''ve just been taking the grinder and filter parts out, and rinsing them out. Not sure how important it is to use soap...
The most valuable thing I can tell you, that you won''t read on the box, is that the thermal caraffe REALLY DOES work great. I don''t pre-heat the caraffe, since I have it sitting out from the night before. I have mine programmed to start brewing at 8:30am. And believe it or not, despite the fact that there is no heater that runs after it''s done brewing... the coffee stays HOT for a long time. It stays piping hot for several hours, and even at 2:30pm, it is still drinkably warm. I never expected it to stay that warm for 6 hours, far exceeded my expecations.
Easy to program, but you have to remember to press the Program button each night before. Although, that''s not really a big deal since you have to add water and all the other stuff anyway. It''s a safety feature really.
Grinder noise isn''t super loud, and it only runs for 60 seconds so who cares. Mine is sitting on my desk in my cube, but I program it to run before most people arrive in the office so it''s not a problem.
Very short 2ft. power cord with the unit, which will be great for kitchen countertops where you can put it by an outlet, otherwise you might need an extension cord.
Can''t speak about reliability. Hopefully they fixed some of the issues people had with this unit''s predecessor. Will revise my review later if I have issues.
I''ve rated it 5 stars, for $129 I feel that I got what I expected and paid for, and really don''t have any complaints. I also haven''t seen ANYTHING in the market that does what this does, in the same price range. Is there not a demand for coffee grinder/brewers? I mean, why wouldn''t you want to have something that you can program to do both before you even wake up? For me, there was no other choice.
Cuisinart has a more expensive model than this one, but it was $70 more and the only feature that really seemed to be valuable was it''s "burr grinder" which is supposedly better. But it didn''t seem like that was worth $70 more to me, so I thought this was the best value.

I ordered this coffee maker knowing that Cuisinart produces very fine products but I have to say I am not real happy with this particular product. The grinder grinds the beans VERY coarse which doesn''t make a very strong cup of coffee so I''m back to grinding my coffee with my burr grinder. The setting for 1-4 cups does not make the water warmer as advertised (it comes out luke warm) so I just don''t push that button when making a small pot of coffee. I do find that when brewing a full pot it does keep the coffee hot for quite a while. I think, if I order another Cuisinart coffeemaker in the future, that I will pay a little more and get the coffeemaker with the burr grinder and with a hot-plate instead of the thermal carafe.Want Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker Discount?
For those who want grind and brew features this is the best product for the money. There are the higher priced models but some of us have to stay on a budget. Compared to the earlier version, I''ve had 3 of the earlier ones; they do tend to break down after 2 years. This model has significant improvements. The best is that it is so much easier to clean the grinding area. The earlier model was next to impossible, this more open design makes it possible to actually get those beans that get into the grinding area out.In reading the other reviews I did have a few concerns.
1. The sediment from the filter: Well that''s the reality of permanent filters. So it''s convenience of not having to get those paper things out and over to the trash. If that detail is annoying use paper. Even the high priced machines have that issue and Cuisnart clearly informs you of this issue with a notice before unpacking the product.
2. Noise: The review that goes on about how noisy this machine is. Gad face reality, these are coffee beans getting ground up in somewhat large area in an enclosed area without a lot of sound insulation. It is going to get loud. No louder than a regular coffee grinder and a lot quieter than a garbage disposal. To avoid having the noise in the morning I do the unthinkable, grind the beans the evening before. OK, I''m not a purist.
3. Coffee not the right temp: Face reality, the carafe is going to be the same temp as the room it''s sitting in. So it like most people who turn down there temp in their house at night to let''s say even 68 degrees at night or even 70, the the physics say the carafe temp is going to be 70. Now, brew coffee and when it gets into the insulated carafe the temp is going to average out. Since the insulated model doesn''t have a warming plate, you''re may want to take into consideration that you''re brewing into a room temp carafe and the coffee temp is going to cool down. Cuisinart clearly informs you that simply warming up the carafe with hot water before brewing takes care of this issue. I easily deal with this when the machine starts brewing you have a good 30-45 seconds before the first drop comes out and the machine does have a function to keep coffee from coming out unless the carafe is properly placed. That gives plenty of time to run some hot water into it, get the inside temp up and the result is coffee at the perfect temp. Now I do have to say that it is very easy for me because I have one of those instant hot water faucets at the sink so I don''t have to wait for the hot water to start flowing.
There have been some very good user oriented changes to this model. It''s not perfect, but for the money it''s the best you''re going to find on the market. Take the critics in these reviews with a grain of salt.
Of course one of the reasons I am really, really happy with this machine is that I ran into it when Amazon had it on sale for $110 with a $30 rebate from Cuisinart. My final cost was $85!! I called customer service to see how the rebate would work. They told me a mail-in coupon would come with the product. When the product arrived ( 3 days later, and I used the free standard shipping during the holiday period) there was no rebate coupon. I called customer service and their response was "we''ll just add a $30 credit" to your account. I was expecting getting a run around anticipating that they would put the problem off on Cuisinart. But no, Amazon steps up to plate, resolves the problem in less than 1 minute and the credit appeared on my credit card the next day. Now that is customer service!!
My hats off to Amazon to putting the customer first. Beyond the coffee maker at $85 final cost with free shipping, I have to say that Amazon has matured into a very customer focused retailer. They have moved beyond good prices and the convenience of shopping at home; they are real competition to the brick & moter stores. Amazon''s focus on the customer actually gives the retail experience a lot of us remember in the "old department store" days.
I have never taken the time to write a product review, but I do enjoy having them available to get unbiased reviews and input. This time I felt it was only fair to take the time to put a realistic perspective to some of the negative reviews while at the same time expressing my positive experience with Amazon. For me Amazon has primarily been a convenience factor, now I shop with them because of their dependability and customer service focus. Price is not the driver for me anymore. I''ve just learned that if I really want customer service, the most reliable and predictable place to shop is Amazon!!

I love this filter so much. I have easily irritated skin. My skin always used to be very red and itchy after taking a shower, even if I just rinsed with water and nothing else. Now I have no skin irritation from my water.I can definitely tell the difference if I take an unfiltered shower at my mom''s house the redness and itchiness comes right back. I''ll probably buy one of these for her next time I visit.
Edit March 2012: I am still using this filter and I still love it. Interestingly, it beats my Brita filter in a sniff test. (I can smell chlorine in a glass of Brita filtered water, but not in a glass of shower-filtered water.) I think I''ll just start drinking my shower water instead of buying more Brita filters.

I think everyone should use a filter on their shower. Chlorine leaches into our bodies even in the shower. I know it sounds extreme but these days, you have to be extreme just to stay healthy!I only wish these would last longer. I am a yoga teacher who does not make a whole lot of money, so it gets expensive to keep buying the replacements. I suspect, however, that I would have no better luck with other filters and I am most likely just in a very high mineralized area.
While its still working, my hair and skin feel soft and wonderful just out of the shower.

Its great. No buckets of water to empty daily and well worth the cost. I use it to cool a spare bedroom that is usually very hot, and it has made that room cool enough to make it comfortable to sleep in. It does vent out a window, but easily moved into closet during cooler months or as a back up a/c when the whole house air fails. It will only cool one room, but at this price point, () its well worth any short falls. Velcro remote to top of unit so does not get lost is suggested or keeping remote in a nearby draw for safe keeping.Read Best Reviews of Amana APO77R 7000-BTU Portable Electronic Air Conditioner Here
I bought this for my daughter in college. Since she was not able to put anything that would stick out of the window, this seemed like the best alternative. I have the one with 9000BTU. I bought this air conditioner in the beginning of the summer on the recommendation of a friend / and its official. It works GREAT! Kept me cool with no mess to clean up. Not once did I have to drain the water out ALLLLL SUMMMER. One itsy bitsy setback. It makes allot of noise so put your TV on the opposite side of the room from your air conditioner or your neighbors will be complaining. hahahahahaSprite Original Handheld Shower Filter Save 26% Off

First off, don''t be deceived by the 6-cup description, this pot will only make enough to fill one larger cup as our land of supersizers knows of it. If you are looking for 6 true cups of coffee at a time, stick with your countertop brewer or go for a larger size. Also, you won''t be able to make successive cups (for company or spouse) due to the pot being lava hot after brewing one cup. Someone said the smaller the pot, the better the brew, I can''t confirm this, but I''ll assume they know what they are talking about. I''m single, so this product is perfect for me.
Who this product is best suited for:
* Someone who can appreciate coffee for what it is by itself, including both taste and smell. I will cut a square of semi-sweet bakers chocolate and pair it with a small cup in the evening, it''s become one of my guilty pleasures and the slightly bitter combination mixes oh so well. But I digress.
* Someone who likes strong coffee. Whether or not you join in the debate regarding whether it''s true espresso or not really isn''t important, it''s a thick brew. With that said, it''s not meant to be the equivalent of espresso that''s steam piped through a machine.
* Someone who thinks of coffee as more than something to wash down their eggs and toast.
* Someone who doesn''t need to drink it by the pot just to function in the morning.
* Someone who likes the simple things. There really is nothing that can break (other than the gasket ring that will need to be replaced periodically), no maintenance (in the Moka''s case, less is better), no wondering if you should''ve bought the extended warranty. Reclaim your countertop.
What I wish I could change about it:
* I wish there was a method to pull the basket out without growing fingernails. Maybe a small post in the middle of the basket? That''s the extent of my engineering suggestions.
* I wish it would cool down enough to clean it out by the time I needed to go to work. Beginning to end, you will need to have about 30 minutes to spare, or clean it when you get home from work. I don''t wash mine, water boils in it everyday, so I don''t see the need to sterilize it. If you are germaphobe, you might be better off without one of these, as washing it is discouraged. But I don''t like warm, wet grounds being left in it at room temperature all day.
Important tips:
* Not sure if I''d purchase this if I had an electric stove. I suppose you could brew on an electric stove, though I can''t picture it. Common sense says use the smallest burner with the flame no wider than the bottom of the pot. Negative reviewers have complained that the handle melted during brewing. Duh.
* Pull it off the heat before it gurgles, the foamy water is just that, let it draw up by itself for the last minute or so. I leave the cover open for the last five minutes, I only close it for the first couple minutes to warm the top of the pot. It doesn''t come shooting out like an oil well unless you''ve done something wrong, it only dribbles out. I did neglect to screw it together tightly once and bubbles came out the sides, this might be dangerous given the physics of steam and pressure, but I was there to oversee what was going on and fixed it. Lesson learned.
* I''m not going to promote any specific type of coffee. I use whole beans that I grind myself, mine aren''t specifically marketed for espresso. By the way, I think espresso is a grind, not a roast, but I''ll leave that to the coffee officiandos out there to correct me, it''s really not something I''m compelled to argue. I don''t use ultra dark roasts, either, as a normal roast tends to produce strong enough coffee for me in this thing, and I''m a strong coffee drinker.
Whew. Thanks for reading, I can''t think of anything else that hasn''t already been pointed out by the moka veterans who''ve reviewed. There are a few reviews here spreading the word that Aluminum, the element this coffee maker is made of, is harmful. Having just read about this (in a science book, not some random web page), I feel the need to step in...: Aluminum is considered safe in cookware. The Al does not bind to the food unless it''s acid (like rhubarb). The stigma dates from an incident that happened in the 70ies with dialysis machines, where the aluminum did bind to the blood and cause harm to patients. Also, the dementia claim came about because Al was found in Alzheimer patients'' brains, but it was later determined that it was likely put there by the imaging process, not the cookware. In fact, if you''re afraid of Al in your food, you should probably avoid spinach and processed cheese (ie. all cheese sold in the US). Source: Nature''s Building Blocks
I have to say this though: if you put this pot into the dishwasher, it comes out like you could donate it to the Museum of Natural History: not only several shades darker, but also with nasty streaks and spots. However, once I got over the original shock of suddenly owning an ''antique'' coffee maker, I keep on putting it in the washer, because I''ve found the coffee to taste better that way. I still wish there was a steel (or copper, if thermal conductivity is so important?) knockoff, but at least I know it''s not harmful, only ugly.
I would also like to point out that the produced drink is not espresso, which the Italians have named and perfected to be made under pressure. Consequently, the produced black liquid can''t match my Gaggia coffee maker''s real espresso, but it''s "pretty good", above drip coffee in my opinion. Of course, this makes it the nonplusultra camping coffee "machine".

This makes an excellent cup of caffè. I call it "caffè" so as not to offend any purists that say this machine does not produce the requisite amount of pressure to be called espresso... but it''s certainly closer to espresso than what most people would call coffee. In my opinion it produces a better tasting liquid than what you can pick up a the counter of a [insert large coffeehouse chain]. In addition, I frequently prefer it to the coffee I get at [insert local coffeehouse]; this is because I am able to have control over the cup. My local shop pulls an amazing cup of espresso, but they rotate their espresso beans and often times it is a roast that I find to be rubbish.I would spend the money on a Bialetti model as I purchased a cheapo model at TJ Max and it took a lot of fiddling to get a good cup. Then I needed to replace the rubber gasket, when I did everything went fubar. I realized that the problem was in the build quality and that the pieces fit together so poorly that steam was passing around the filter rather than pushing water through the grinds. This machine is far more well built and I know I can buy replacement parts that will fit it perfectly. I took off the plastic parts and now my old machine is now dedicated to campfires.
I said it before and I''ll say it again:
-Don''t wash it, but it''s not the end of the world if you do... like some people say. It will ruin the finish (but make it look rustic, if you are into that) and you will have to ''re-season'' it with few batches of caffe.
-It''s not that you necessarily have to use it often for good coffee, it''s just that the oils on the wall of the pot (that collect from not washing it) will start to not taste so good.
-If you''ve been around a bit you know of the differences in tap water. Most tap water in the US is perfectly fine. I''d avoid most well water but a filter would probably make it fine to use. The water may make some difference, but not nearly as much as the bean. Especially in this application where the coffee is boiling up and going through the grounds like passing through a filter.
-I have a 3-cup and it shouldn''t take more than 5 minutes, so 10 might be a little long for a 6-cup but not by much. Nothing useful is going on while the water heats up so there is no reason to start at a low heat. It''s all about how long it takes the water to pass through the grounds... that doesn''t start happening till the water is almost boiling. Therefore I start mine on hot for a minute and then dial it back to medium. The final temperature all depends on your taste, your stovetop, and the size of your pot. If it takes too long, the caffe will be bitter (keep in mind strong and bitter are not the same). If you brew it too fast, you''ll end up with something burnt tasting. The easiest way to find the perfect temperature is to watch it brew with the lid up. If the coffee is coming out nice and slow with maximum crema, you are in good shape. If it bursts out of there and shoots all over your kitchen, you might need to check your relief valve, your grind might be too fine, or your temperature might be too hot. Do take it off as soon as it starts to bubble out of the spout and the liquid coming out is lighter in color. Once you are able to hear it, it''s almost too late, so hurry. Pour and enjoy.
-If you wanted to speed up the process you could boil water in a kettle, let it cool a bit, pour it in, assemble the pot with pot holders, and get it back on the heat to brew. This is way too much work and clean up for me.
-Keep in mind you can''t screw the pot together too tight... unless you can''t get it apart.
-I use locally roasted beans within a month after they have been roasted. That makes more of a difference than anything. Buy a cheap blade grinder (you don''t need a burr grinder for this application) and grind it to somewhere between drip and espresso, possibly closer to espresso (again depending on taste, machine, and temperature). My cheap grinder doesn''t produce a homogeneous grind, so some grinds are more like drip, others more like espresso, but as long as your median grind is about right it really doesn''t matter (not like a true espresso machine that relies a lot more on an exact pressure being created against the grind). Grind the beans right before you put them in, not the day before, not at the store... along the same lines, use the beans soon after they are roasted, not next year. I don''t recommend any commercial brands as they are difficult to get fresh and the darker roasts are frequently over-roasted. If you find a commercial brand that has a roasted on date, has been roasted in the last couple weeks, and sounds delicious, give it a shot. Buy beans that you like the taste of, not because they sound appropriate. The world will continue turning even if you use lighter roast in something people frequently refer to as espresso.
-I use a coarser than espresso grind, with very slight packing of the grinds, no ''cupola'' just an even pack (as I find a cupola of grinds to sometimes get in the way of the seal as the grounds spread out when you screw the pot together) to make sure the ''puck'' is uniformly dense, starting on high heat, then turn down to medium (low heat would never get close to boiling water on my stove), I watch it and move it on and off the heat as needed for optimum crema. If you change any of the variables, and you will (intentionally or not), you will get a different cup of coffee. Some days will always be better than others, but after a little practice it will always be better than what you can get at 95% of the retail coffee outlets.
-For those wondering if you can buy a large size pot for versatility, you can not unless you make a large pot and throw out everything you don''t drink (wasting a lot of coffee). If you don''t fill the filter basket all the way the water will not have enough resistance to pass through and it would come out weak and probably bitter. If you fill the filter basket all the way but put in less water, you would not get a full extraction and your coffee would not have time to release the flavors and caffeine (also, you would be wasting a lot of coffee).

I had tried several expensive coffee machine hoping to find one that would make just a really great cup of coffee, fresh tasting, and HOT. I was curious about this coffee maker so bought the small one just to try it. We loved it so much I bought the largest one. You can make it as strong or as weak as you like. I highly recommend it.Want Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Espresso Makers Discount?
The Moka Express is the perfect little coffee maker and simple to use. I''ve read other reviews where users expressed problems they had. Here is what I have learned that might help others...1. Use a good quality bean and grind it fresh just before making a pot..it really does taste better!
2. No need to pack down the grounds...just a nice level basket is all you need. In fact when you pack it down it takes longer for the coffee to rise to the top.
3. As others have said, don''t wash with detergent...easy to clean with warm water and a clean sponge.
4. Some have said the handle gets too hot...that means the heat is too high or the pot is placed in the center of the burner instead of on the edge. I place mine on the edge of a gas top burner, set the flame to med-low with the handle facing out and in about 5-6 minutes I start to hear the great gurgling sound...psssssss. Just when the pot starts to make the louder sound that signals the top is filled with a great cup of coffee I take it off and let it set for a few seconds before pouring it into my cup. If I want to make a second cup, I can hold the pot under the cold running water for just a few seconds and the pot is cool enough to hold in my bare hand or I can use a towel and even unscrew it without running it under cool water.
5. As to the comments that it''s hard to lift the basket without good fingernails, we save our coffee grounds to use in the garden so I have a container i pour the used grounds into. I take the bottom of the pot, with the basket in place, tip it over on its side (over the container) and the basket begins to slide out. I then grab the basket by the edge and dump the grounds into my container and I''m ready to rinse the basket, rinse the top part and begin to make a new pot of coffee.
6. Heating milk in the micro or stove top and pouring the hot coffee into the hot foaming milk is one great option and pouring the hot coffee over a shot of half and half is very good as well.
I hope this is helpful to you...enjoy!

I got the item because it said it was a large purifier, I expected it to be a little bigger and hold a little more water. I can''t let it run throughout the day while at work because the water will evaporate below the minimum water level. Cleaning and setup is quick and easy. If it was put in a kids room and used as a night light while running it does do an under water effect on the walls, the LED lights shine into the water and reflex out into the room. All in all it is a decent product and does work as expected.Want EcoGecko Pure H2O Large Water Based Air Purifier Revitalizer Air Freshener Discount?

Every faucet filter I''ve used before works fine for the first two weeks, and then the water starts coming out slower and slower and S L O W E R. The Waterpik one keeps up the velocity and volume just great for months, and in more than a year I''ve never had a problem with the attachment ring breaking. I''m sticking with this one. Plus, it''s really each to change the filters: turn the old one a quarter-turn, pull it off, put the new one on, click it into place, run the water for a couple minutes. Boom, clean water. If I had reviewed this within six months of buying it I probably would have said it was ok. But, after a while it started spraying where the filter connects and made a real mess. Changing the filter worked for a few weeks but then it did it again. I gave one to my mother and hers did the same thing. I ended up ditching it and bought a counter top model by Aquafina.Omnifilter CBF3-S-05 Single Stage Filtration System Save 13% Off

What a crock. I received my order today minus two of the 4 extra filters that I had ordered with the filtration unit. I called the company and the person I spoke to sounded like she had an IQ of 2. When she finally pulled up my order, it turned out that she couldn''t tell me what I had ordered and they guessed from the amount I paid and sent it out. No call to me to confirm or discuss. I told her that this was not my issue and if Aquarain had any quality customer service that they would admit their mistake and send me the two filters they shorted me. The person on the phone stammered and I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that she was the manager. I am sending everything back. She at least said that I would get a refund. For the cost of two filters on a mistake made by them, Aquarain was willing to send a customer away. What an awful company. The product may be great but I would recommend avoiding this company. Can you believe they guessed at what I had ordered. Come on.Read Best Reviews of Aqua Rain Water Purifier Here

Ah I see we are not the only ones! We purchased an Aquarain and after just one year of use the bottom container started splitting. I talked with the man we bought it through and he said he had two other customers that had the same problem. A short look on google confirmed this. I emailed Aquarain and she wanted pictures. I sent them and she said "I have been working here for years and never heard of this problem. It is very uncommon. ". They would not replace it and did not even offer a discount for a replacement. We will be purchasing a Berkey and only wish we would have gotten the best first! It is hard to see in the picture of the Aquarain (how convenient) what the structural problem is the Berkey has a large lip that comes over the bottom container whereas the Aquarain has a very small one. We were always concerned that one of the kids would knock the top part off of the bottom container. The Berkey does not have that problem as the top comes much farther down on the bottom. We have friends that have a Berkey and it is much sturdier and better made.I have used the Aqua Rain every day for over 1 year. I have still not needed to use abrasive on filters, but I have washed the insides of both SS containers and all filters inside and out with dilute hydrogen peroxide. Only done this once about 6 months ago when the water started to taste a little off. That solved the taste problem. The water from this filter system tastes excellent. This is the best water filter I have ever used and I feel this is a great value even though it is fairly expensive. It is worth every penny.
PUR Ultimate Faucet Mount

When you first attach the PUR filter, it works beautifully. Water comes out fast, and comes out clean. But fairly soon, and well before the filter is supposedly used up, the filter cuts down on the flow as it gets more and more clogged. After a while it can take 30 seconds to fill up a glass of water. Ours also has a leakage problem that is exacerbated the more clogged the filter is (the leak comes from the plastic covering that tells you how used up the filter is)...Don''t know if ours is defective or if this is typical.
We have since bought a PUR pitcher filtration system, and that seems to be more convenient to use because you don''t have to sit there like a ... waiting for your glass to fill up.
PUR is superior to BRITA filters, by the way, because they also filter giardia and cryptosporidium, two bacteria that can cause intestinal illnesses. This is especially important if you live in areas with iffy water systems (i.e. St. Petersburg, Russia, which is full of giardia/Mexico) or if you have a weak immune system.
The PUR filters work out to about 25 cents per gallon of filtered water. It costs more to filter dirtier water and less to filter cleaner water.
When you finally throw out the used filter, try cracking it open and having a look at all the nasty gunk that you didn''t put into your body. It''s definitely worth the price, don''t you think?... I bought my Pur Faucet Mount filter two years ago, when my new place had funny-tasting water. The filter really cleared it up and made it tasteless -... I really like how easy it is to use either filtered or unfiltered water (depending on what I''m doing) with just a quick flip. Also, the spray feature is great. Overall, this filter has saved me from drinking nasty water (and lots of money from buying bottled water).
My only complaint: the faucet mount itself is a bit bulky,
Overall, it''s a great filter and easier than remembering to refill one of those pitchers.

(COMMUNITY FORUM 04)We have been known to make our every-two-week pilgrimage to Costco to get our bottled water. Honestly, it is a lot of work to carry water around. And like PUR notes in their ad: "There''s more than one way to get 100 Gallons of Drinking Water into your home."So, something had to be done. This was a serious situation. I need water for tea, when working out and basically for cooking. I refuse to drink water that has not been filtered, just out of principle.
The other problem with bottled water is the bottles you have to recycle. I will probably still buy some bottled water, but the recycling load will be much less.
What amazed me was the ease of installation. Before, I had tried to install an under the cabinet "fancy smancy" water filtration unit which was much higher in price. What then occurred was a leak in the system and unfortunately I did not realize that on certain kitchen faucets, you can''t do the installation yourself when installing a water purifier. I then had to call a plumber and had to install an entirely new kitchen faucet.
Save yourself this hassle and expense.
To Install this product:
1. You remove the faucet aerator.
2. Check for an adaptor (they include a few for internal threaded faucets)
3. Attach the filter to your faucet.
4. Install the filter cartridge.
Yes, it is that easy. Sure beats water torture as you are under the sink trying to peer into the pitch darkness of under cabinet plumbing life and water is dripping on you in a most annoying fashion. I have a completely new respect for plumbers now.
The PUR "Activated Carbon Microfilter" filter up to 100 gallons of water which means you replace the filter every 2-3 months.
There is an "automatic safety monitor": that has a red line which appears in a little window at the front of the filter when the end of the filter life occurs. At such time, you just replace the filter. Keep one on hand for such a day.
What I found as a bonus was the "Swivel sprayer" that attaches to the entire system. The water that makes its way through the filter also comes out in a spray fashion. The "ByPass" feature means that you can still use your regular water for washing dishes and then switch back to filtered water by rotating the water filter at the faucet. While I thought this filter would get in the way, it really doesn''t.
This product claims to reduce lead, mercury, asbestos, MTBE, and TTHMs. This product should not be used with microbiologically unsafe water.
Five Stars for ease of installation and peace of mind! I can even order the filters here with book orders.
Such convenience.

I dont want to be mean about this but read the manual. It will tell you to run the new filter for 5 minutes to set the the filter resin. If you do this the filter will provide good flow for the full length of the filter (I get 3 months). If you dont it will slow to a trickle in days.I have owned these for years. I say these becasue I have had two break and the third is now broken and needs replaced. One of them started leaking out the sight window, another cracked down the side and the most recent failure is that the valve for switching between filtered or not filtered is leaking.
The work great and each time I have had a problem customer service sent me out a new one immediately, I got it in days.

We use about a gallon of water a day, and I''m tired of lugging bottled water from the store. We settled on the Pur filter based on its capabilities (they claim to filter out more than the competition). We get a decent flow for two or so days after replacing the filter (about two gallons worth), but it quickly degrades after that. After about a week, it takes about a minute to fill up a glass. After another week, it''s more like three minutes (which seems like an eternity when you''re thirsty at 3am!). After that, it''s pointless -it drips, drips, drips into the glass.
It''s become even worse recently, even after installing a brand-new unit (the whole thing not just the filter). Now, we get about a week out of a filter. I give it two stars because though I''m frustrated by it''s slow flow, the water we do get out of it is good.
Maybe this is a NYC thing? Perhaps other parts of the country have cleaner water? I don''t know. All I do know is that if you live around here, think about another alternative.

For the price, as nice a "bronze" as you are going to get. I looked high and low for a bronze water filter tap and this was as good as I was going to get without spending hundreds. Went in just fine and 4 months later seems to operate smoothly. I like the feature that locks of lever into place so you can fill a pot without standing there. I have found bronze finishes vary so much between manufacturers and our tap was a "Venetian Bronze" so I did not find it a matching problem and I am usually very picky about these things. In these mix and match kitchens these days where the island does not match the rest of the cabinets, I don''t think this is a stand out. Watts has a whole range of filtering options, so research that carefully to decide what level of filtering you want (huge price range too)Read Best Reviews of Watts 116079 Standard Faucet Here
Upon renovating my kitchen I installed new silgranit sink and a rubbed bronze taps system. However I did not want to reinstall my stainless steel water faucet.I could not find a bronze single faucet lever (with or without the filter system )in any of my local stores. It was easily found on AMAZON and delivery was 2 days and the cost was great even with shipping. Cost was comparable to the old stainless steel faucet I had purchased two years ago.
Very impressed Thank You AmazonHad to wait a bit for this one to come back in stock. I bought it to match an oil rubbed bronze faucet set bought here. They match perfectly.Easy to install, works well, but looks very cheap. Its just brown and black, doesn''t look like oil rubbed bronze at all and does not match fixtures that really are o.r.b
Hamilton Beach 45238 Stay or Go Deluxe Thermal Coffeemaker

This insulated carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time. Much better than our previous one. It is stainless steel inside and out. The temperature of the coffee (8 cups) into a cold carafe is a little more than 180 degrees F. That''s the upper limit without burning your lips. The water temp while the coffee is being made ranges from 175 to slightly over 200 at the end. Preheating the carafe would produce a hotter coffee and keep it hot longer but this works well as is.
It comes with 2 travel mugs and an undersized 1 tablespoon long handled coffee scoop. The 2 mugs are black plastic on the inside which some xperts claim gives off harmful chemicals when filled with hot liquids.
The water level inside are clearly marked at 2 cup intervals so you can make the amount you want. A short person might find it difficult to see the 2 and 4 cup levels and odd number amounts would be guess work. The removable coffee filter holder takes ordinary paper filters and is easy to clean. The buttons and indicators are on the front and easy to read. It''s programmable. The carafe or cups sit on a perforated disk. This can be removed and any drips sponged out. Good idea so any drips don''t run off over the counter.
My wife paid less than 50 bucks for this at a local store.
Good design, good hot coffee at a reasonable price. What more do you need?
After using this coffee maker for over a year, I retract my statement that it doesn''t dribble. You could be very careful pouring out a cup slowly without more coffee spilling on the counter but you would have to be wide awake at 5 in the morning to do so. When the pot is down to 4 cups it is less messy.
The two plastic cups provided with the coffee maker have the black plastic on the inside. That''s the type of plastic that some say leaches out harmful chemicals into hot liquids. I just threw them away and bought a stainless steel lined travel mug.
This coffee maker works well and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours while maintaining the taste. This coffee maker does a great job at making coffee (as it should), it''s well built and attractive to the eye. It will go well with all of the other stainless steel items in your kitchen. It''s easy to make coffee, and it''s easy to program so that you can grab the cup on your way out of the house (which is what I usually do). The lcd clock is a very bright blue, which could be good or bad depending on whether or not you like a bright blue light in your kitchen. The travel mugs are great, you''d probably spend around $8 on each of them at retail. The carafe is nice, but I haven''t used it (and probably won''t).
I''m a bit of a coffee snob, so I do have a few minor qualms as well. The permanent filter basket does a good job, but it''s just not as good as a paper filterfine grains do get through and settle to the bottom of the cup. If this doesn''t bother you, then don''t worry about it. The permanent filter is also kind of a bummer to clean. It''s easier to just pick up a paper filter and toss it and the spent grains into the trash. Having said this though, if I were ever to run out of paper filters, I would use the permanent filter with no problem if I couldn''t get to the store for a few days.
And the biggest minus for me is the price. It''s just too much to pay when there are other options with similar features that cost less, even in the same brand. You should take a look at the Hamilton Beach 45237H or the Hamilton Beach 45235G for about $20 less or even the much cheaper Black & Decker DDCM200 (no program timer on the Black and Decker though).
So, it''s a great unit, but I subtracted one star for the small things and another star for the excessive price.
Cheers!

I received this coffeemaker as a gift about a month ago and it''s miles ahead of the Mr. Coffee I used to use (was also a good machine, just stopped working). I make Dunkin Donuts coffee in it and it tastes just like the real thing (meaning it is certainly capable of making great coffee). One of the mugs was missing when i opened it, but a quick call to Hamilton Beach resulted in a replacement one in about a week. Now maybe I''m just odd or pouring different than some of the people complaining about the carafe dripping, but I have yet to encounter such a problem. In fact, I did it over the sink first due reading reviews on here. I have yet to spill any coffee with this setup so I''m not sure what others are doing. However, the travel mugs leaking water when washed thing is true, I don''t use them too often though (use my own travel mug) so they''re usually all dried out when I need them, but still its something to consider if you plan on using them daily etc.
Overall I couldn''t be happier with this machine, give it a shot.
EDIT: Still haven''t experienced this dripping many of you are talking about (though maybe I''d get it eventually) so I don''t know if they''ve changed the carafe or what.

What a great idea. You can brew right into one or two mugs that they provide. Or brew an entire pot. But the mugs are impossible to drink from. After you get down to half full, it is impossible to drink from them without dripping coffee all over yourself. this is not subtle. The design simply doesn''t work.Want Hamilton Beach 45238 Stay or Go Deluxe Thermal Coffeemaker Discount?
Interesting that another reviewer indicates this pot doesn''t dribble. When pouring water to the reservoir, it generally ends up all over my counter whether I pour fast or slow. Pouring coffee (with the lid on) it seems to dribble less, but still dribbles. I find the carafe bulky ... maybe that''s just me a friend has an older Krupp that is plastic and it''s slender and light. It does seem to brew pretty decent coffee, but I''m pretty disappointed for the price.
Carbon Wrapped Replacement Cartridge

The new one when taken out of the package and said made in china and really had no weight to it.
Do not know if it will filter as good the new one but will give it a try. It was the only one I could find that replaced the T01 Omni filter. I will give it two stars because if I read that it was made in China I would not have purchased it. Additionally it is only 1/4 the width of the one My refrigerator has a filter indicator and with the old on in front of it has never indicated needed replacement. Will update this review when indicator wants me to change filters...
Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Save 50% Off

Between the Keurig models (B40,B50,B60), I spent a lot of time trying to decide and eventually went with the B60, mainly because the B60 is the only model that brews 3 different sizes of coffee--5.25, 7.25, and 9.25oz. The B50, a favorite amongst shoppers, does not offer the 9.25oz size. This large size allows my Oxo travel mug to almost completely fill after using one Extra Bold K-cup. As an added benefit of the B60, you get beautiful blue LEDs behind the display and the water tank, as well as a polished chrome handle and polished chrome outer-ring to the display. It looks very modern and very classy in my otherwise boring kitchen. Highly recommended.I bought a Keurig after reading all of the reviews about it. I thought to myself, surely this machine has a lot of hype to live up to.
Not only did it pass the hype test, it did so with flying colors.
Let me just say that if you are doing research on this machine, you will discover that people just rave about it. Review after review say it is worth the investment.
Add this review to that list.
PROS:
It works not just as a coffee maker, there are also tea K-Cups available and it also can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds. So if you have a tea bag and just want hot water, there is not need to use a kettle. Ever.
You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend.
It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed. No grinds in the bottom of the cup. No wasting away of drinking coffee in the morning.
KEURIG''S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called then at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine. The customer service guy (had a Boston accent) was very nice and answered all my questions. He also registered the machine (it was a "gift"to myself :-)), so there was no need to mail in the warranty card.
The blue LED lights are the best kept secret about this machine. It is very modern and fits into any kitchen, both during the day and at night.
CONS:
The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That''s ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON... They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don''t want to get stuck with 50 K-cups of a flavor you don''t like.
If you are having a group of people over, it''s definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here''s the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it''s a great conversation piece.
The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most travel mugs once you mix in the creamer.
Let''s be frank. It''s expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obviously, people love this machine, and for good reason.
It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, and in the long term, this machine pays itself off.
BOTTOM LINE:
If you''re reading this review, you obviously care about what other people think before you spend $100+ on a freaking coffee maker. Don''t worry. I was in your shoes. But there is a peace of mind that comes along knowing that you made the right choice. Do as much research as you can and get as many opinions as you can. But just remember that thousands of satisfied Keurig customers can''t be wrong.
Good luck.

I purchased this machine from Williams-Sonoma and it did come with the "My K-Cup" personal ground coffee filter. I experimented in every way possible as soon as I took it out of the package. The pods work great, but I was skeptical at first about the more "economical" alternative---using the "my k-cup" filter with regular ground coffee. Well, I tried it...and it was excellent. The manual suggests using 2 tbs. of ground coffe in the filter (which IS marked at 1 tbs. and at 2 tbs.) and holds up to 2.7 tbs. to give you room to play if you like stronger coffee. I filled the filter all the way to the top and brewed 2 medium sized cups in a row....both were perfect. The machine also does hot water, of course, for tea and hot chocolate....but I tried to take it a step further by placing a regular tea bag (minus the string and tag) into the chamber...and it brewed perfectly. So, loose tea in the "my k-cup" filter would also turn out great, I''m sure.
All in all, this is truly a QUICK, versatile, SUPERB coffee machine. Great for myself, who enjoys decaf and tea, and also for my husband who prefers strong as strong can get. He can have his cup, then I can have mine right after. No mess....no cleaning (except for having to clean the my k-cup filter, which is a breeze), and MANY options from a small, simple machine. Well worth the money. I can''t wait to use it when I have guests....that way everyone can have exactly whatever kind of coffee or tea they want and without a wait!

Finally, I found the easy no clean up fast coffee maker that I need for my busy lifestyle. The k-pods are awesome I use it for coffee and tea, it''s so easy. Just put in the k-pod push a button and you have your beverage. Great taste no fuss no mess or a chance of an exploding pod a great size water reserve and a cool look. I''ve bought so many coffee makers over the years and I finally found a keeper. One thing you can''t make a pot but this machine is ready for the next cup in 30 seconds (fast) and my guest love choosing their favorite flavor, (there are so many to choose from) so I haven''t missed the pot at all.

I''m a coffee snob, plain and simple. I have a high end espresso machine, burr grinder, several french presses and an assortment of drip coffee makers along with a wonderful vintage vacuum machine. But, on a recent vacation, the condominium I was staying at came equiped with one of the Keurig machines and there were a few K-containers of assorted blends in the cupboard. Expecting nothing more than ordinary "motel room" coffee, I figured out how to use the Keurig, fired it up, put in a nondescript K-cup of "Columbian" and brewed a small cup while I was getting ready to head out in the morning. I won''t say I was shocked, but I was certainly impressed. That cup was significantly better than it should have been given the pre-packaged, pre-ground coffee and the somewhat "gimicky" appeal of the system. I purchased some additional "k-cups" that day from a local store and continued to have easy, no mess morning coffee for the rest of my stay. When I got back one of the first things I did was investigate the Keurig and I wound up getting a B-60 along with several boxes of K-cup coffees. Is it as good a 100% Blue Mountain in a french press or Chemix drip maker? No, but it is pretty darn good coffee that is consistent from cup to cup with literally no mess.
The machine operates pretty much the same way as an auto espresso maker with the K-cup replacing the espresso handle and filter. Hot water from a removable tank is heated and then injected into the K-cup after the machine punctures the cup''s top and bottom. On this particular model one can adjust the size of the cup and the temperature of the brew, though this is a rather narrow range. I got the best results from the smallest cup size and a 190 degree temp setting, but LIKE WITH ALL COFFEE MAKERS, BUYING ONLY THE FRESHEST K-CUPS AND USING GOOD QUALITY BOTTLED WATER, will be necessary to get the best results. The bottom line is that one can easily get a good decent cup of coffee in less than a minute (if you leave the machine on all the time) with practically no mess. Do I use it all the time? No, but for a single cup in the middle of the day, or if you only want one or two cups in the morning, it''s a simple, no mess fix. I also, got the available permanent filter and have had good success with my own grinds, though you do have to futz with the settings a little.
The only reason I''m not giving it 5 stars is because of the initial and ongoing cost over conventional coffee brewing methods. But it does make very good coffee and is clearly superior to most auto drip coffee makers using store bought pre ground coffee.
Everpure VOC #1 Replacement Cartridge

- Cartridge replacement is easy just like changing a light blub
- Not for sale in California
Once one year had slipped by, however, we''ve been unable to purchase this particular replacement cartridge because of some "certification" issue within California. Really NO ONE will sell this item to a California resident. We are now stuck with a $1000 R/O system that now only provides delicious water if you''re a fish!! (...assuming fish like pond water!?) I''m so frustrated with Everpure over this and must now accept that we either replace this entire system or perhaps get used to the taste of chlorine and go back to drinking plain old water with fluoride and all the other junk our city is authorized to send our way. UGH!!
Bottom line I''d say don''t buy Everpure if you live in California or Vermont. I have yet to determine an explanation as to why it apparently does not perform up to par enough for our overlords, but passes for the rest of you, nor why we were able to buy this package to begin with! double-UGH!!
Austin Air Pet Machine HM410 Save $0.01 Off

After purchasing the Pet machine from airpurifiersdirect2U, I just unwrapped the Pet machine, plugged it in. After a few hours the air in the whole house smelled fresh. We have an 85lb Golden retriever, much more hair than the mentioned labrador from the bad review of this product. The unit came to me with sight bent frame, but operated perfectly. I contacted Austin, and they offered to immediately replace the Pet machine. I told them I was dissapointed, but it was not worth the effort. Austin sent me a free tabletop for the unit. This is one industrial built air cleaner that gets down to business! This is my experience, fantastic! After seeing an allergist he reccomended I get a non-ozone HEPA filter. I looked at many. This one really worked in my situation. No more snoring, I am able to stay in bed all night, occasionally going to the recliner, but the longer the Austin runs, the better I am. I have more energy, I am sleeping better! I have ordered two healthmate Jr units one for each bedroom. The air quality difference is amazing, and we know we have to get the carpet cleaned. The bedroom air compared to where the machine has not been running ( closed door) is astonishingly different, and I cannot stand to be in the unfiltered room. Next job, is to get out the embedded smell from the carpet or remove it. I was able to bend back all the metal after checking the pre-filter after a few weeks of continuous operation. Noting was needed, and it looks like new, plus I have a neat top to the unit thanks to Austin.
More important, it has almost cured all symptoms of my allergies to the Golden retriver, dust mites, Almost everything outside that gets dragged in to the home. i have been able to cut way back on the frequecy I need to use the medications. Looking at the guts of the pet machine, it is truely a heavy-duty air cleaning machine that can clean what Austin claims. Very high quality parts (industrial motor) The unit has quiet operation on low, meduim, and on high too loud for if near a TV and want to her it. On High this machine gets down to business and work awesome. I could not be more satified. This air filter makes my life possible. I am allergic to dust, cats and dogs. I live with two cats and four dogs. Without this filter I would not be able to keep my furr family members with me.
You do need to vacuum this filter to get the larger dust particles off so that it works at its peak. If your home is already really dusty when you get it you will need to vacuum it sooner. I take mine outside with the shop vac and set it on blow. Watching the great clouds of dust that come off it is a great reminder to keep on a schedule of maintenance. All air filters need to be cleaned periodically.

We have seven geriatric dogs. We never to meant to have this many dogs ... but here we are. Anyway, keeping a house clean and smelling fresh is practically impossible with this many dogs. However, the Austin Air Pet Machine completely and effectively removes the dog odor from the house. We keep one machine in our "puppy room". This is the room w/ all the dog crates, where the dogs lounge during the day and some sleep during the night. Needless to say this room can get quite doggy smelling! As long as the machine is running the room smells clean [we clean the room and wash all the dog beds twice a week but w/out the machine it would still stink like dogs due to the sheer number of dogs we have]. We have the other machine in our toddler''s room. Not only does his room not smell like dogs but it also doesn''t stink like dirty diapers [he has a diaper genie in his room that is emptied twice a week] ...So, all in all, I''d say that this machine is well worth the cost! My only complaints are 1) the size [it is industrial looking and isn''t easy to hide!] and, 2) when the machine is on high, it is loud. Not loud in a rattling/shaking way ... just loud air blowing. However, it also doubles as a great white noise machine in my toddler''s room so we''ve turned that ''negative'' into a positive :-)I own this machine in black and sandstone. The sandstone colored one is ultra quiet and is barely noticeable; the black one is much louder. The product works very well despite the noise on the black one, and eventually it becomes just another background noise. If I go away for a weekend and leave it on while I''m gone, I notice a big difference in the air quality, for the better. I would recommend this product. We have had 2 labs for less than a year...the pet machine was bought shortly after the arrival of the second one (a 6 year lab -already house broken!). I felt like the machine worked for less than a week to rid house of "dog smell". There has never been a smell of "accidents" just that dog odor that I never wanted. We have hard wood floors so there is no carpet to trap odor. Dogs are not on furniture. Machine is by their beds. Beds are vacuumed almost daily and washed often. We vacuum all floors daily. Made mistake of emailing Austin Air directly to complain and was completely dismissed. (even though I was in my 30 day window to return). I did hear from a nicer lady from the place I actually bought it from (through austin air''s website?) and she convinced austin air to send me a new filter. It has not changed anything. For all its promises, I cannot say it produces any results on any of them. I am very disappointed with it.

I''ve been using InstaPure faucet water filters for many, many years and I loved the way they work.I was using the F2 models and now that I switched to the F5, the filters only last a month. I realize that this model is filtering out a lot more, but one month is a short period of time and it has become an added monthly expense buying new filters every month. None of the big stores sell this filter so I have to order 2 at a time on the internet, which is also annoying. InstaPure needs to get these out into the world to be purchased off the shelf like the other brands. But otherwise, it works fine and the water tastes clean.Want InstaPure F5GWW3P-1ES Faucet Mount Water Filter System Discount?
I bought this item for filtering water for homebrewing. My water is pretty good already (Chicago), so I primarily wanted to get rid of some of the chlorine. But I didn''t want to spend a bunch of $$$ on an expensive system for occasional use. The reviews for Instapure models were the best of the bunch compared to other manufacturers.Shipping was unexpectedly poor for Amazon, with just a shipping label slapped on the display box. Although the box was a little battered, the unit was fine an all pieces intact.
I attached the unit to a utility sink faucet with male hose threads. This required a quick trip to the hardware store to get the proper adapter, which I expected. It is important to pay attention to the manual, since there are plenty of washers and standard adapters included. Careful assembly equals no leaks.
The overall quality of the unit is good, with tight-fitting parts and durable construction. Switching the filter on and off is easy. Slotted fittings means the filter will not spin around on faucet, which I like.
Side-by-side tasting of filtered and unfiltered water showed a marked improvement with filtering. Beware that the filtered water comes out considerably slower. Not a big deal for a glass of water, but significant when filling a pot with gallons of water like I did. Probably similar for all filters of this type, just gotta have patience.
Rating lost a star due to poor shipping. It may lose more stars if performance of the filter degrades sharply with more usage.
