- Reduces fine sediment and chlorine taste and odor in residential drinking water
- Nominal filtration rating of 5 microns
- Carbon-impregnated cellulose media with polyester backing and netting for strength and dirt-holding capacity
- Initial pressure drop of 4 psi at a flow rate of 5 gpm
- Temperature range of 40 to 125 degrees F (4.4 to 51.7 degrees C)

I thought it was a carbon block filter, but it turned out to be a carbon impregnated cellulose filter. I have water that is contaminated with a chemical and use carbon block filters to remove it so it is safe to drink. I use a Whole house Carbon Block filter as a primary filter but use this smaller filter under the kitchen sink to provide added protection. This filter will probably provide short term protection, so I decided to keep them and use them for about two weeks each and then toss them. For other applications this filter may be adequate, but not for mine. I know I could have sent them back, but needed one right away so decided to keep and use these, but have also ordered carbon block filters to use when these are used up. Please research what what filter you really need based on your own situation. I do recommend a CARBON BLOCK filter to remove any chemical contamination issues, but again do your research, and make sure you are getting what you really need. I do not fault the seller, but blame myself for not making sure for not making sure I got what I needed!

I live in Lincoln, IL where the water has such a high iron content that I swear you could forge a hammer and nails from it. This filter renders water direct from the tap drinkable, something a water softener with rust buster salt could not do alone.
