Brita 35214 Base Faucet Filtration System Save 17% Off

Brita 35214 Base Faucet Filtration System
  • Compact, horizontal design that is out of the way of activities around the sink.
  • System lasts up to 1 year! 3x the filter life of 1 replacement faucet mount filter.
  • Healthier great tasting water
  • 2 stream feature for regular tap and filtered water
  • Mechanical Filter Life Indicator

If you buy this, save yourself potential headache and IMMEDIATELY call the Brita 800 # and ask for metal connectors. I haven''t had success keeping the connection tight without the metal ones. The cheap plastic connectors included in the original package are almost guaranteed to fail. Brita must know this...I wish they would fix this problem and just include the metal ones standard.

After connecting this unit I found that an increase in water pressure caused the unit to pop off at the threads. I''m not talking about a lot of pressure here either. It appears that the orifice used to channel the water up thru the filter is too small which in turn builds up a lot of back pressure. Also the few times that I got it to work, I had to slooowly run the water. This is a really bad design. The last unit I had was a Teledyne and worked great, I just couldn''t find filters for it. I guess I''ll buy the one from Pur and see what happens.

Follow-up: turned out the unit came with a clogged filter cartridge. Unfortunaely I found this out after buying another brand.

and it will work great. Call them and they will send them to you for free. They send a full set of metal parts that should work with most faucets -I have successfully used them with different faucets in two apartments, and my current faucet is very old, but I was able to find an adapter in the set that works. The metal connectors solve the problems with water pressure, and are more durable. Do it before you mess up the base by tearing up the threads trying to get it on tight enough.

We bought this to replace the Pur Flavor Options filter when it bit the dust (leaking and spraying and impossible to install properly) after a year of use. The first thing my husband told me when he installed it is that it''s held together by plastic threaded pieces and you can''t overtighten it or it will pop the threads and fall apart. He was very unimpressed. Well, within two or three days of installing it, I accidentally bumped the filter while swinging the faucet from one side of our double-sink to the other. Sure enough, just that small movement loosened the threads and now we can no longer tighten them down enough to make a good seal. Water sprays out of the top of the unit (and onto us and the counters) every time we turn it on, whether for filtered or unfiltered water. The knob to switch between Brita water and tap water is also more difficult to turn than I think it should be. It feels awkward and I''m always afraid that just the movement of turning that knob is going to loosen the filtration unit even more. As soon as we can find the receipt, this thing is going back to Lowes. I''ve always loved Brita products but this is a big disappointment.

Don''t waste your money on this unless you want carpal tunnel syndrome in your wrist due to how terribly difficult it is to switch from filtered to non filtered water. Tried lubricating it with no luck.

Filtrete Replacement Filter FFRF02-WH-1 50-Gallon Fast Flow Replacement Filter, WhiteWe have loved the fast-flow aspect of this pitcher and the water seems extremely clear and odor free. The design is sleek and well thought out, the pitcher itself fits easily in the refrigerator and pours freely. The replacement filter indicator works extremely well and delivers a clear concise signal. This is the most effective water pitcher filter system we have seen to date.

We have a really hard water here. This makes the tap water, which we avoided like the plague, taste amazing. These filters are great.

I think these tablets are over priced for a cleaning product. I plan to use some of the less expensive tablets to compare and will check back here soon. $ stars because they do keep the machine functioning well. However our daughter has never cleaned her Jura Capresso in 4 years and only had one minor clog which rectified itself with a little water flush.

Sure they are overpriced, but using the correct product on your expensive automatic coffee maker is a small price to pay to ensure that it is going to keep working. When you pay $2000 for a coffee maker, why would you try to save $5 and risk either harming or only partially cleaning it? False savings!

Fiskars 5962 Rain Barrel DiverterPro Kit Save 18% Off

Fiskars 5962 Rain Barrel DiverterPro Kit, BlackI did a lot of research before buying a diverter, and am still happy with this one. It does what it''s supposed to do divert rain from the downspout to a rain barrel until the barrel is full, then automatically send everything down the spout. Installation was rather easy and the quality seems fine for what it is. I like the fact that you can hook up a barrel on either side or both! I hid my barrel around the corner so it''s on the back side of my garage and out of sight, and used less than half the supplied hose. Here are a few improvements I would recommend, however:

The ports on either side of the unit for connecting hoses are split down the middle. I assume this is to increase flexibility, making it easier to attach the included hose. However, this also means that it leaks a bit. One layer of waterproof tape around the outside took care of this. Changing the design to use a barbed fitting would make more sense.

I used this with the 2x3" downspout converter kit. The top is fine. The downspout fits inside the adapter. On the bottom, however, the same fitment causes it to leak at that junction. A little forethought and some silicone sealant during installation took care of this (used silicone for all connections). Again, design could be easily changed so that the adapter fits inside the downspout on the bottom, preventing leaks.

During light rains, the diverter doesn''t send as much water to the barrel as I had hoped. In theory, ALL the water should be diverted during a light rain. However, the removable screen/diverter just fits loosely in the housing and some water leaks through. Design could be improved to make a tighter seal, possibly using a gasket, while still being able to remove for cleaning.

Why black? I would guess that 95% of downspouts are white. I would have been willing to spend a little more for white plastic from the manufacturer than live with black or have to paint it myself.

All in all, though, a great unit and certainly worth 4 stars. I''m just nit picking here so others will know exactly what to expect when they buy one.

I only have a few days and one rain storm to go by but I have an issue with the design of this unit. Many folks have 2X3 downspouts for which Fiskars has provided adapters. Unfortunately, they are not engineered to fit inside of the downspout as it runs below the unit. The unit actually is installed on the outside of the bottom downspout. This virtually guarantees leakage as the water that is not diverted to the rain barrel moves along the sides of the Fiskars unit and comes out in rivlets all along the connection. A call to Fiskars confirmed the design flaw with a suggestion to add caulk. Initial call to customer service was rude, indicating that none of them leaked. Engineering only agreed to notify design of the issue. Too bad as the unit has promise. If it need caulk they should say so and provide it.

My original one star review is below. Since then, out of pure stubbornness, I''ve made this device work properly. I went to a local downspout/rain gutter manufacturer and purchased 3" square downspout. It''s used for commercial applications, not residential, I''m told, and isn''t available at any home improvement stores, not here anyway. With a little reshaping of the receiving end of the 3" downspout, the bottom end of the Fiskars diverter can be made to fit snugly inside the tubing, which means that your rainwater will stay contained and not leak out all around the edges. Of course, this means that you''re also committed to using 3" downspouting from the end of the Fiskars to the end of your run, and the stuff is not cheap, but it works the way it should if the Fiskars had been designed properly in the first place. It works great, in fact. If you can''t find 3" downspouting in your area, of if you''re not willing to spend that much money, or to cut, bend and reshape metal, then my one star review below stands.

One star review: "It is a great idea. Just horribly executed. Almost impossible to fit a 2x3" downspout into the top, tho it can be done with much bending and twisting of the downspout end, encouraging leaves and debris to get caught there. But the brain trust in the Fiskar''s design department decided to make the outlet adapter identical with the inlet, to save money no doubt. Instead of fitting inside the downspout as it should, the outlet adapter fits over the outside of the downspout, guaranteeing that it will leak. Especially after having to mangle the downspout to make it fit here, too. Caulk? Won''t last a season. Might as well leave off the diverter and just run the downspout to the top of the rain barrel and let the water run out of the top of the barrel. Same difference in the end. So after cutting my downspout and trying unsuccessfully to figure out any way of making this work as it should, now I have to return it AND replace my downspout. Thanks a lot, Fiskars. Useless."

I am a commercial plumber by trade and living in TX, water restrictions are coming down. There will be two avenues for water collection and use. Rain water and Condensate water from the AC. My AC makes 8 gallons a day. I looked far and wide for the best cost VS function on units like this and this wins hands down. Simple and easy to install. Easy to clean out. Alot of the others need removed to clean. This one has an access door and a removeable screen so in winter you can just remove that part and it is a straight run down spout again. To address a few of the "issues" people have had. If you have 3 inch gutters, silicon in the top and bottom adapter and screw it tight before install. It won''t leak. Silicon in the leader to the adapter and screw with self tappers on 4 sides. It won''t leak. One thing I did find is that the diverter/ screen piece did not fit in tight enough to get the maximum collection rate I desired. NO BIG DEAL. I took a self tapping screw and from the inside, thru the clean out cover, I pushed down on the screen/diverter piece and then ran the large head self tapping screw thru the back and directly above the top bar of the screen. This locked it down into the inside channel. The diverter is plastic so it sealed the screw. Now I get full collection as fast as the water will go down the drain tube. But still a wee bit of room to drain the diverter over a period of 2 minutes when the rain stops. Being this diverter has two outlets, one on either side, running both tubes to a barrel on each side will collect much more water then having barrels linked in series. people complained of the color? get a can of krylon plastic''s paint. My leaders are hunter green and you can''t even tell I have a diverter there now. I was amazed at just how water these will collect. I set up two barrels as a test run and they filled up in under 5 minutes with a Texas time summer cloud burst. These are well worth the money and function great at a fraction of the cost of more expensive models.

I recently purchased the rainbarrel kit for a single downspout. The kit works very well and came in a timely fashion. The installation looked very simple, though I had it installed during my gutter renovation. You will need a hacksaw or something to cut your existing gutters, so that would be the only challenge with this kit. The trap is very easy to clean and catches most debris. If you have some form of gutter guards, you really won''t need to clean out the trap but once a year at most.

My only complaint with this kit is the color. The black color would really stand out if this was in a focal point, and the fact that they do not offer other color selections limits where I would use this product. For me, it was installed in the back of the house, so it is not noticeable. I think they would have done much better to have made the diveter white so as to match alot more exterior trim/gutter colors.

  • The GE GXRLQR water filter features the new "Twist and Lock" system makes filter changes easy with No Tool Required
  • The GE GXRLQR refrigerator water filter life of up to 6 months or 750 gallons depending on water usage and water quality

This filter seems to work well & has improved the water quality of some very iron tasting water. We have it installed on the water line that supplies the drinking water faucet & refrigerator ice maker. We put it in the basement so it''s easy to access/change the filter.

Update 12/09: We also use this filter in our primary home for the water line supplying the refrigerator. This house has a very different water issue: hard water. We previously used a Brita filter/pitcher for making coffee/tea because it stopped hard water deposits from forming in our pot. But that system was so slow & took space in the refrigerator so we switched to this filter. Unfortunately, it does not remove the hard water/lime. So the pot has to be "delimed" regularly. Also doesn''t stop the buildup of lime in the refrigerator ice maker/water dispenser.

Was not happy w/the way this was packaged for shipping. There was no filler around the filter boxes (c''mon, who doesn''t have a little newspaper or something around to use in packing???). So the filters rattled around the box & 2 (of 3) were out of the product packaging. Luckily, it doesn''t appear that they were damaged but will consider another company to order these from next time.

The water tastes great and according to the fact sheets filters out some particles and spores. However, there is a design flaw with this model, after a couple of filter replacements, the nubs at the top of the filter do not reach high enough to trigger the release in the manifold to release enough water and it dribbles out.

This problem happened to me too, but can be fixed with a garden hose plastic washer inserted at the top of the filter. Use a thin washer or a used washer for best results. See the discussion here:

We''ve been using this filter for years now for our refrig. ice and water dispenser. No, it will not perform as a multi-stage water filtration system or the $70 one that goes in the bottom of your refer., but it is perfectly adequate for use with quality city water. Ice tastes much better than before. Water in the dispenser tends to last longer in the cooling loop inside the refer. With straight city water, it will quickly foul if water is not used regularly.

Cartridge is a bit pricey, but again it works fine.

This filter in a single stage exterior head (GXRLQ) works fine for under counter small home kitchen service.

It lasts 4 months supplying drinking and cooking water. For higher volume applications use twin head system and FQSLF filters. I estimate that arrangement would go six months undercounter vs. four with the single GXRLQR.

The end "R" denotes replacement filter.

Searching for one to replace the water filter in my GE Refrigerator (model profile), took out the original filter, get the part number and ended up with waterfilter.net for cheapest price. Found none of them work, either got no water from water dispenser or just like leaking and dripping. Beware of waterfilter.net return policy, if you peal off the seal on the filter, they won''t allow to return and also 15% restocking fee if over 10 days.

Ended up to buy from local Sears store to replace. Total waste of money on the garbage products.

Klean Kanteen Reflect Stainless Steel 27 Ounce Water Bottle

Klean Kanteen 27 -Ounce, Bamboo Cap, Mirrored Stainless Steel Water BottleSo, I''ll admit: this bottle wasn''t so much purchased to fill a need as out of an appreciation for the design. That said, it has been my bedside water bottle for the last three months (as well as seeing some outdoor use) and I think I''ve used it enough to write a brief review.

Clearly, in terms of aesthetics, the cap is what sets this thing apart from most other bottles on the market. The simple design and bamboo elicit a certain understated elegance. With that, however, come certain disadvantages. The steel threads on the lid are definitely noisier against the bottle neck than the plastic lid. Also, if using the bottle in a very dry climate, the instructions note that the bamboo should be periodically oiled with a cutting board oil to keep it from cracking. As you could probably surmise, the carry ring is not nearly as ergonomic as that on the plastic caps, either. I can''t speak to it''s durability, but I''d be hesitant to put this bottle (that is, this lid) through the kind of abuse I''ve subjected other Klean Kanteen''s to.

Really, this bottle comes down to a matter of priorities. If having your bottle be a design statement is your prerogative, or if you feel it''s important that your water come in contact with nothing but food-grade steel, than this is probably the bottle for you. With the exception of the finish (which is more brushed than stippled like the pictures suggest), what you see is what you get with this bottle.

I just received the Reflect in Mirrored Stainless Steel. It is beautiful -an adjective I never thought I would use to describe a bottle. As my title says, this looks like a bottle Apple would have designed. It is the same shape as the regular 27 oz. Kleen Kanteen bottle, but the polished stainless steel exterior gives it a high-end, simple, and clean look. The cap on the Reflect bottles with their stainless steel shell and bamboo top are different than the caps on the other Kleen Kanteen bottles and, aesthetically, a great match for the Reflect bottles.

After an initial washing of the bottle, I filled it up and tested it for leaks. Despite turning the bottle upside down and shaking vigorously no water leaked out, which should be expected. The top screws on and off very easily and quickly -just one full turn to seal or open the bottle. As it states on Kleen Kanteen''s website and with the material that came with the bottle, the bottle itself can be put in the dishwasher. But, the stainless steel cap with the bamboo top should not be cleaned in the dishwasher or submerged in water in order to prevent water from getting inside and creating sanitary issues.

I love the fact that the product is almost entirely made of stainless steel, other than the small bamboo round piece on the top of the cap and the one silicon ring around the interior part of the cap to prevent leaking. From an ecological standpoint, it is probably a good thing the product contains no paints, even eco-friendlier ones. I drink a lot of water throughout the day and am using this bottle in place of a glass so I expect the finish to hold up well. If you use this water bottle for more active uses then the polished finish may not be the best choice as I imagine it will show scratches and scuff marks more than the Reflect Brushed finish or the regular Kleen Kanteen stainless steel finish.

I was using a Sigg bottle for many years, but recently learned that their bottles -at least the older ones -actually contain BPA, which they chose to conceal from their customers. In addition, the coating on the inside of the neck of the bottle was coming off, which made me concerned that I might be ingesting small pieces of the coating material. Given the issues with Sigg, I decided to discontinue using my Sigg bottle and boycott the company''s products. The fact that I can put the Kleen Kanteen bottle in the dishwasher is a nice benefit over the Sigg bottles, which need to be cleaned by hand. Another benefit of the Reflect bottle is the one turn on/off of the cap compared to several turns of the Sigg to seal or open the bottle. I think I will be very happy with the Kleen Kanteen Reflect bottle and will probably purchase one of the regular stainless steel bottles for outside use.

I have to agree with the first reviewer and say that this water bottle is so great looking. I think their description of it being the Macintosh "computer" of water bottles is pretty accurate. I love that it is completely stainless steel except for the silicone ring and the bamboo top. You can screw the top off in about a turn and a half. I have not had any problems with leaking thus far. When I first took it out of the package, the inside had a funny smell to it. I hand washed it (even though it is supposedly dishwasher safe) and the funny smell is no more. There is no funny aftertaste to my drink either. Although, I have only used water in it. I am unsure of how it would fare with other beverages. Oh, and I have it in the mirror finishwhich is so shiny & fabulous! =)

I lost my prized orange Nalgene bottle several years ago and had just never replaced it. A little while ago I went to the Klean Kanteen website to purchase a bottle. I saw the advertisement saying that the Reflect bottles were coming soon. I decided to hold out and purchase it once it was released. Boy, I am sure happy that I did!

I used this water bottle very frequently for about 4 months. I love the look and materials. Here are some key words of caution however.

1) The water bottle is loud.

I can''t take the water bottle to class because when I try to open it, it lets out that loud metal on metal screech. I''m used to the noise by now, but it can be bothersome to others. In particular, it really bothers my girlfriend! She won''t let me use the water bottle in the house anymore.

2) I find it really hard to clean around the silicone ring.

I get a mold looking substance around the ring that''s really hard to remove with just a conventional dish sponge. The mold clings to the inner side of the ring.

I hate to say it, but the mold and the noise really have dampened my use! Not sure how much more I can use this really nice looking and environmentally friendly water bottle!

Keurig B31BLACK K-Cup Single Cup Coffee & Tea Brewing System Save 18% Off

Keurig B31BLACK K-Cup Single Cup Coffee & Tea Brewing System, BlackWe love this brewer. The best benefit is a fresh, just-brewed cup of coffee every time. The k-cups are more expensive than buying bulk coffee but we were throwing away partially brewed pots of coffee every day with our old brewer. Plus, the savings in time not having to clean the carafe and dump the filter of grounds and then cleaning that is well worth it. Also, you can purchase a reusable filter for it if you want to continue to use non-kcup coffee. Believe me, it is still WAY less expensive than what you pay in the popular coffee houses and the coffee is just as good, or better.

It won''t accommodate a tall cup but it is simple to brew into a glass measuring cup and then pour that into your tall cup or travel mug.

Helpful tip: We did have a clogging problem at first. The manual doesn''t tell you that there is a "top needle" that can get clogged. Just remove the gasket and take a straightened paper clip to unclog it. If you use your own coffee, use a coarser grind to avoid that problem. HOWEVER, we were leaving the k-cup closed up in there and the grounds were getting cold and stayed stuck in the needle. We found that if you remove the k-cup right after brewing, it doesn''t get clogged EVER. Have not had it happen since we discovered that. By the way, Keurig''s customer/technical service is absolutely top notch! They stand behind their product and more than make up for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

For those of you who are confused about the amount of water to pour in, we just take the cup we are brewing it in, fill it with water and pour it in. We never worry about seeing where the water level is.

A trend I have noticed in many of the negative reviews of the smaller Keurig brewers (both here and elsewhere on the internet) is that I think people are unfairly rating down the product due to issues that aren''t really the brewer''s fault. Note: I''m not saying that Keurig machines are some sort of holy, blameless things that never fail...I''m sure people have had problems with them, but it seems some people are being very unreasonable in spreading bad word of mouth about them. A few things:

1. People having overflow problems This seems really weird to me. The fill-level indicators are pretty darn accurate in my experience, but I get the feeling some people are just FILLING the reservoir with water completely. (which you''re not supposed to do) and then taking off, leaving the machine to do it''s thing and then winding up with a mess. Important note: the reservoir holds probably around 15-16 oz of water, but the machine is not made to properly brew more than 10oz at a time. I think they stress this in the manual for a reason. Fill your mug with water first, and use that as the measurement. Pretty simple.

2. The coffee not being strong enough Given the fact that there''s something like 180 types of coffee for the machine, this seems like a really vague comment. I mean...are you brewing dark roast or extra bold k-cups? When I''ve tried those, I definitely get a damn strong cup of coffee. Are you brewing breakfast roasts? Then, yeah, it''s going to be pretty light. If you are making dark coffee and it''s coming out weak, then yes, there may be a problem with the brewer, but I''m guessing people are putting in blends that aren''t stronger cups and expecting the kind of paint-stripper coffee they''re used to making by hand. If the bolds really aren''t doing it for you, may I recommend brewing an 8oz cup, then brewing a second 8oz cup with the same k-cup and combining them. Alternately, get the reusable k-cups and put stronger coffee in at a higher fill rate (say 3 tbps).

3. The coffee is not hot enough Again, this seems vague and personal preference-ish, yet people are rating down the machine because the near boiling temperature the coffee dispenses at apparently isn''t insanely hot enough for them. Yes, in some circumstances, the heater may not be working, but I know people who like coffee hotter than the sun for some reason. Here''s the thing: maybe you DO like scalding hot coffee. But just-at-boiling/just-under-boiling temp is generally considered the proper brewing temperature for coffee, at any roast. Also, using cold water will generally get you a crappy cup of coffee, in ANY machine. Chilled water generally wreaks havoc with the thermostats in coffee makers and in some instances the machines will simply heat to compensate for the temperature, but not actually boil the water. Use normal tap water for better performance (purified, preferably).

4. There are dry grounds in the k-cup or reusable k-cup This is something that people need to be very sure about. When coffee grounds are brewed at very high temperatures at high pressure, the grounds do NOT end up looking the same as the grounds do when you use a drip process (which results in a kind of brown sludge). If the grounds are being brewed right, they tend to bunch up and almost crystallize, with the high-heat, steam, and pressure almost "drying" them out for lack of a better way to put it. The grounds almost go through a kind of "spin cycle" like laundry does in a machine. So, the leftover grounds will NOT look like the wet, brown mess you get in drip filters. Are you SURE the grounds are dry and not being brewed or are they simply looking like the way high heat/pressure used up grounds tend to look? Does the coffee seem definitely weak and not brewing right?

About every 10-12 cups of coffee I suggest making sure the bottom k-cup assembly is clean and the needle is clear, then also clean the upper assembly and needle. Run the brewer every now and then with water, but no k-cup, which should help clean the top part. You shouldn''t have to descale except maybe once every 5-6 months, and if you''re using filtered water even then it shouldn''t even be much of an issue.

I''m not saying Keurig brewers are perfect..I know some people have legitimately had bad experiences with them (and many have pointed out that the quality of water pumps they use are not exactly top of the line), but I think it''s unfair to 1-star the product when many of the issues are not quite what they seem.

I recently purchased both the Keurig B31 and Bosch Tassimo T45 personal brewers. My initial search was for a personal brewer for my office since the coffee provided at work is terrible. This review is written from the angle that I needed a brewer for my office cubicle, however I will add some insight for those looking to purchase for home use. My 3 main factors were 1)Convenience/Ease of Use 2)Price & 3)Coffee Quality. I opted with the Keurig for work and the Tassimo for home.

CONVENIENCE/EASE OF USE:

The Keurig wins for this factor since it is MUCH quieter than the Tassimo. As stated before, I sit in a cubicle at work so I didn''t need a loud machine to disrupt my co-workers. We have `white noise'' in our office and you can hardly hear the B31 as it brews. The Tassimo at home is louder and would definitely disrupt my co-workers sitting next to me. However, it is not so loud that it would wake someone up who is sleeping in the house. There are some good videos on YouTube of sound tests of the B31 and T45. I found the videos made the B31 sound louder than it actually is, while the Tassimo''s are pretty accurate.

The Keurig brews a little faster than the Tassimo which gives it a little edge as well, but both are right around 2 minutes.

PRICE:

Since the coffee at work is free, price was a big factor for me as well. I didn''t need something that was going to greatly increase my weekly spending. The Keurig B31 ($99.99) is cheaper than the Tassimo ($169.99). However, Bosch currently has a $50 rebate on the T45. Couple that with a 20% of BBB coupon and you have greatly reduced the price of the Tassimo machine.

The k-cups are also cheaper than the t-discs. I found the k-cups to be around $0.50/cup. The t-discs will run you $0.60 $0.80 for regular coffee and $1.25 for the cappuccinos and lattes. Depending on how much coffee you drink, this could get expensive.

Since I use the Keurig every day at work and the Tassimo only on the weekend, this made it the better choice for my desk.

COFFEE QUALITY:

The Tassimo wins this hands down. I found the Tassimo coffee (specifically Seattle''s Best and Gevalia) to be much better than the k-cups. The flavors out of the Tassimo seem richer and fuller and the aroma that comes from the machine when brewing is much stronger. The k-cups do produce a good cup of coffee, but I found the t-discs better. I have been able to get close to the flavor of the t-discs by trying different brands of k-cups, but haven''t found one that matched it in flavor exactly.

Conclusion:

I found the Keurig B31 to be the best option for my cubicle at work based on convenience and price. I would recommend the Tassimo for those who are using it at home. Or you could purchase both and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Like many on here I could have written a glowing review on this mini and heck I may have but can''t remember. You add water with each cup being careful not to overfill it, you buy pricey pods no secret there, it makes a great, hot cup of coffee, etc, all of the things it is SUPPOSED to do. I learned all of the little tricks, tips, paper clip cleaning of the needle and so on and so forth BUT how much time do you really want to spend cleaning the machine and unclogging the needle? I''ve been on the phone with Keurig when it didn''t brew and their service department is excellent (shouldn''t you always develop a relationship with CS within what 2-3 months of ownership?). I know this little machine inside and out. Like I said it makes great coffee but only when it feels like it! I swear this thing has a mind of its own. It randomly leaves water inside the heating element quick fix by turning off the machine, holding down the on button and pumping the water out. It randomly explodes the pods at the seams sending coffee grounds all through the pod housing this trick is usually discovered once my coffee appears with a multitude of floating grounds no biggee you just pull out your handy dandy fine sieve and filter it into another cup. Don''t we all want to mess with that in the morning? This morning prior to the explosion it just didn''t work at all...turned it off, pulled the handle, etc. and finally it was ready. I''M DONE. Sorry Mini I wanted to love you but you will be going back from where you came before I''m no longer under the return window. You''d looked cute sitting there on my counter top and 75% of the time you were great but the other 25% with your finicky self has just ruined this relationship.

I wish I would have read the reviews before buying the Mini! Mine died after to months of average use. Currently it makes about 1/4 cup or less. After reading what others have gone through I am not going to bother fighting with it or costumer support but because I love the product and convenience I am sizing up to a model that has better reviews and is more long lasting. I am giving this company a second chance only once. Don''t bother getting this model because in a few months you will need a new one.
