EcoAqua EFF-6007A Refrigerator Water Filter

A lot of comments about this filter costing less than other brands. Remember one thing though. AT LEAST ON THE ONES THAT I''VE USED, while the OEM filters are made in U.S.A., this filter is made in China. I''m not going to comment any further, because YOU will be drinking the water out of the filters you buy, not me.

I too wanted to save some money. But, I guess in this case you get what you pay for! Never have had any trouble with my Maytag Wide-by-Side water filtration system before. Changed filter whenever the indicate light came on. First time I used this filter I had trouble immediately. As recommended I filled several glasses and discarded. Seemed fine. But, after about the 8th glass the water stream got smaller and smaller and by the end of the day nothing. We removed the filter, reinserted it and nothing! Tried another new filter same thing happened. Now I will head off to Home Depot to buy a $40 filter that hopefully will work unless this PIECE OF GARBAGE has damaged the system!

This model fits a French Door Maytag original filter is UKF8001AXX that sells for almost $50 at Sears. This brand is a perfect replacement and easy to switch out. Needed to fill about 4 glasses with filtered water until all the dark sediment flushed through. Would recommend.

The water coming out of this filter tastes lake plastic tubes and chlorine for my Kenmore refrigerator. I have never had a problem with filters before. I recommend getting the exact filter recommended. I have to buy a new one, so it is costing me twice as much for clean water.
