I read on other reviews of this product that said it was a bit noisy and they were true. The noise is similar to an older wall mounted air conditioner. For me it''s worth not having to wait for my bf to pick up the water bottle or spilling some of it on the floor when I do it myself. It''s much better looking than the top loading ones with the exposed bottle, it also has lighting in the cup area that''s bright enough to not need additional lighting for a late night cup of water or tea.
Also, every time I opened the door to the lower storage area where the water bottle is place, the door would fall off! The hinge mechanism (if you can even call it that) is one of the cheapest designs I''ve ever seen and clearly does not work! For an item that is over $200 it is Not worth the money!

I was looking for a stainless steel water dispenser to complete my theme in my new kitchen and after several purchases and returns, I found the Vitapur dispenser and I love it. It is quite and only makes noise when it is filling up after use. If you need instant hot water, this machine is not for you because you have to wait at least three minutes which I don''t mind. Just so this is ''clear'', a RO membrane is not included. This is a kit for sediment and carbon filter replacement only, NOT the RO membrane. Still a good price.
The final filter (indeed a 10 inch one) had a sticker on it, with some specs = (Watts Premier, Model RIL-10a, flow 0.5gpm, capacity 1000gal, NSF certified, pressure 25-100psi, temp 32-100f, and flow direction arrow) also the package had a ''Made in USA'' flag logo on it.
Just for fun, I purchased a replacement polishing filter for my WP5-50 RO unit at the ''Watts Premier'' web site. It had a sticker that read only ''Made in Taiwan'' They look to be the same filter with different manufacturers. The Taiwan Watts filter did include the end ''screw in'' fittings that may not be needed but are nice to have. Enjoy.

I''m amazed at what you get in the package. Added up individually, these items would cost almost $60.00! I have had an RO system for over 7 years and this is the best deal for replacement filters that I have found anywhere. As another reviewer stated, not even the Watts website has prices this low for these items. That''s the good part. The not so good is two things: One is that both of the sediment filters were slightly dented upon arrival. No big deal though, and that won''t affect their functionality. Another slight problem is that the post carbon filter doesn''t have the 1/4" quick connect fittings that my 4 stage RO system setup has. No big deal, as another reviewer suggested, I went to the hardware store and bought two adapters to add to the filterdon''t forget to use teflon tape! These adapters convert threaded fittings to quick connect and cost six dollars for both and can be removed from the filter later to be reused again on the new post carbon filter.After installing the new filters I tasted the water and I can''t tell if it''s different from the old filters I was using. It does taste good though, like before.
I''m rating this product 5 stars for the great deal. I would take away one star for the packing of the product prior to shipping, but this is too good of a deal and is worth the risk of some damage in shipping.
Update: Sept. 2011: The filters are still doing great and I''m still super happy with this purchase. I just hope this deal lasts...I tried to find a set of filters for my Reverse Osmosis water system. The pricing was unreasonable to buy the filters separately from local stores. DuPont WFRO60X Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filtration System
I got one of Dupont''s WFRO60X RO kits at a local home improvement store. The install was fairly strait forward since I added in a dual outlet water supply valve to feed the WFRO60X and my kitchen faucet. I also merged in a separate water supply to get cold RO water to the refrigerator.Filter canisters replace very easily but still drip some water (still better than most). The RO drain line (with restricter) is attached behind the RO filter which makes replacing the RO filter a pain since it is difficult to get to the line disconnect. This is poor design planning just to offer a cleaner appearance for something mounted under a sink or remotely. It was 4 stars at that point.
Awhile ago I noticed slight water damage near the cabinet interior floor but no standing water. After a stake out I finally found a water drop that came from the assembly header and behind the filter canisters. There is a small drain hole in the header. I did not have time to remove all the lines to remove the header and find out what this is. I placed a paper towel to absorb the small drips before they affected the cabinet floor. It dropped to 3 stars at that point.
Recently I found a larger amount of water on the cabinet floor and a soaked paper towel. I removed the lines and took out the header assembly. That was tricky since there is a gallon of water stored under pressure, I suggest adding a valve to the top of the storage tank. This drain hole is a spill port from the auto shut-off valve. It appears that any water leaking past either of the round gaskets will drain from the valve out of this hole and end up in your cabinet. Why was this spill port not incorporated into the line to the sink drain? I dropped to 2 stars since it still works and I am still using it. But it should be 1 star at best.
I will try to get replacement auto-off gaskets and retry. To avoid future failures I plan to tap a line to that spill port and route it to the drain remote mount this in the basement like I should have in the first place. I may consider finding another brand RO filter to replace this one since I am less enthusiastic about Dupont''s design.

I picked up the Brita Bottle as soon as I heard it was coming out. So far I love it! Makes it easy for me to get filtered water where ever I go and it''s definitely helping me drink more water. My recommendation is to ditch the bottled water and get one of these.
The cons: you have to suck kind of hard to get the water out, but you get used to it after a couple runs through.

I purchased these bottles at our local grocery store @ $8 each. I thought these bottles would be great to have in our RV when we travel to areas of the country where water doesn''t taste that great.... I was WRONG!I hand washed the bottles, filled, and assembled them, and planned to dispense them to purge dust from the filters before the first use just as indicated by the product instructions. Even though I assembled the bottles correctly, (nothing cross treaded or squeezed), water immediately worked its way past the threads of the main cap and leaked EXTENSIVELY!
I visited the Brita website to find contact information, and noticed the customer reviews right on the product page. After reading them, I discovered that MANY customers had the exact same issue with these bottles. I e-mailed Brita customer service, and all I received was their "general form letter"; which instructed me to do everything I TOLD them I had already done. Their response even went on to tell me to not confuse CONDENSATION for leaks! Seriously? Like I would really mistake condensation for water GUSHING past a threaded cap?!?!? Idiots.
Brita customer service is just as worthless as this product.

I too was thrilled to purchase this in an effort to cut down on buying bottled water. But it soon turned into a disappointment. At first, the bottle leaked around the cap. I remedied this by removing the loop (which I wanted to keep on). The biggest problem I have with it is that you cannot get all the water out. It leaves about 6-8 oz. of water no matter how you hold and squeeze it. I wrote the company with my complaints and received an email on how to remedy the leaking problem (which I had told them I had fixed) but with no mention whatsoever about the remaining water. The bottle is a perfect size, just large enough to get you a while, but its not obnoxiously large. The filter is AMAZING!!!! i live in a city apartment, and the water tastes awful. the filter has significantly improved the taste of the water. It has also saved me money from having to buy individual plastic bottles of water. I''ve only heard good things about Brita, and this bottle/filter more than lives up to the Brita name!

I just received this unit. Upon opening the box I noticed the cardboard packing inside had been torn. When I removed the pieces it was obviously a return with water rings on the clear part of the water filter. Not cool. It looked as though someone had repacked the unit and added a fresh bag of washers which were unopened. The adapters were all too large for my faucet also. So far a fail.

We are on a rural water system for which I don''t hold a high trust factor. After spending many, many dollars on bottled water, I thought there must be a better way to have safe drinking water. I began researching gravity filters, including the Berkey series. I researched the different types of filters considering labatory results as well as user reviews.
My results of several weeks of research led me to understand that both Ceragrav and Berkey seemed to be well-liked, capable systems. My final selection resulted in the Ceragrav over the Berkey because we can see the water level through the translucent Ceragrav housing. I could just picture in my mind the kids filling the upper container on a stainless unit when the bottom container was already full, and causing a big water spill (with stainless housings, you have to remove the upper chamber to get an idea of the water level in the lower chamber...yes, you can add a "water level sight glass option" to the Berkey or other stainless filter housings, but they seem rather fragile).
Ceragrav with two 7" filters has kept up with our water consumption except on the hottest (Alabama) days while the kids are out of school. I''m adding two more 7" filters to increase the production.
The Ceragrav housing and spigot can be easily dissasembled for a run through the dishwasher...very convenient. I am so glad I purchased this product, and so glad that our family is consuming more water now...and at the same time saving lots of money.

I bought the CeraGrav about a month ago but didn''t use it right away because I was using the last of my Zero Waste filters. When I set up the CeraGrav I discovered the spigot leaked in two places. I contacted the company by e-mail, through Amazon, to request a replacement. Easy installation and filter is easy to change (just route tubing to mount unit near front of cabinet!). Unit especially good if dispensing cold water, too. There are cheaper filters available if you''re willing to round-up needed fittings, but this kit very convenient. Amazon price much better than big-box DIY stores that to do not even stock the unit.
