Given the choice, I would not buy a Crystal Quest product again. This is due to the fact their Customer Service is terrible! (So is their Shipping Dep''t and Quality control in my case kind of scary!) I bought a similar product from them and it was missing parts. I called them and what followed is my worst customer service experience ever. They continuously reneged on promises made to me (several times), giving excuses when I called in (and I had to follow up myself EVERY time) such as "I asked so and so to call you" or "I was overruled by another dep''t".
I am not alone read other reviews for Crystal Quest products.
UPDATE: I ordered a water testing kit online to test the floride, chlorine, etc content of the undersink water filtering kit and cartridge I had received. Multiple tests (even at super low flow rates) revealed it DID NOT FILTER CHLORINE! (It left .25-.50 ppm of chlorine the same as our tap water results.) Tests on my Brita filter DID filter all chlorine. So, I called customer service to explain and they kindly mailed me another filter same result! I have sent back everything for a refund, since it does not work as intended. Who monitors these water filtering companies? I will be ordering now from a (hopefully) real water filtering company. I hope I have saved someone else the trouble of having to installing this product only to have to return it.

I must have gotten a bad one as it made the water taste so bitter I had to take it off to get water I could drink. i called the seller and they were so nice and thanked me for the feedback. i then called Quest and told them my problem and the sold me 2 more filters for $19.00 but said they had to be custom made. I hope the new ones work better as no other filter has ever made the water taste worse. Even the cheapest did not do that.No other filter claims to do 2000 gals. like quest so I hope the new filters work as they are cheaper and say they clean 4 times more water than any other facet filter. I''ll make a follow up comment if the new filters work. It''s the best deal but so far the worst deal for me.

I used this faucet mount before. I said it did a decent job if you have OK city water, and just want some extra protection. If you''re in old homes with old iorn pipes or very bad water sources, forget it. Faucet mount or pitcher filters are mostly made of granulated activated carbon, it''s OK to remove cyst, but it doesn''t do much in removing salts and metals.I have moved onto reverse osmosis already. I used the PUR version for about 2 years. Filter cartridge needed frequent replacement (about every 6 weeks) and was expensive. Tried DUPONT version for a few months. Filters were cheaper but only lasted about 3 weeks. Water flow with both brands was slooow. Found CRYSTAL QUEST on line. Ordered it. First 2 were defective but CQ was very nice and shipped replacements quickly. I have now had it for 7 months. We like it. It was a tremendous improvement over our first two. I purchased this filter (not from this seller) and it did not filter out the slightest bit of chlorine taste which is the least I expect it to do. I thought I may have had a defective unit but I am seeing that other reviewers have had the same experience. Another reviewer claims to have tested the water and it showed no reduction of chlorine. I think this company is selling filters that don''t work. Faucet mounted filters will result in a slower flow compared to a filterless faucet. It''s just common sense that if the water is coming out of your faucet as fast as before you installed the filter it''s not working! Switched to Culligan which works great. Seychelle pitchers also work great. Stay away from this product.

Pro Shot Industrial Re-Newing Floor Restorer Save 10% Off
I have used this for years and like it enough to keep re-ordering. The only caveat I might offer is that if you wipe up a spill, etc, sometimes you can see the area where you wiped it will be distinct from the shine on the rest of the floor. I have tried blending it in to no avail. I also have to disagree with others who say it "fills in" scarring & scratches. I guess technically it does but I can still see the scratches in my floors (caused by big dogs). Makes a great shiny floor that is easily applied and does disguise them a bit from that aspect but don''t get too excited about it''s ability to hide a lot. We will eventually have to sand these floors but this product does better than any others we have found to make them look nice in the interim.
I live in a pre-war apartment building with hardwood floors. When I moved in I did poly-urethane most of the rooms'' wood floors to renew the high shine, except for the bedroom dark stained and varnished floor. The varnish coat had worn away and whenever I mopped I brought up alot of the dark wlanut stain each time and wanted something to coat the wood floor with the best shine but of course not a waxy residue build up and not a slippery surface as a result. This product is amazing!!!
It not only delivered exactly what I wanted on the bedroom wood floor a beautiful high shine, a coating to protect the floor afterwards when I did a quick wet mop more often in between Pro shot applications, to remove dust its also so shiny but non slippery too. With such great results I also used it on all my other varnished floors that now after years of use, lost there original shine and could always use a boost after mopping, as well as my lino tiles kitchen floor and all look so beautiful afterwards, and as the product claims, it does last far longer than any other floor shine product I have purchased from a store.
Also, unlike some of the shine products made for kitchen lino floors, which when you spill water afterwards you get horrible spotting, with this product, there isnt that gross build up nor spotting when it gets wet afterwards.
After my first experience with this item, I have now continued to order it for the past few years, missing it when it runs out.
I highly recommend taking the chance on this higher priced product to see for yourself! Its worth the investment because you will not need to apply it as often as you would a regular floor shine wax product & you will see you will not deal with the build up mess that comes after a few applications of the nromal wax shine products out there, or slip worry of them either. And the shine left behind terrific!

Pro Shot does the job on wood floors that are not worn out. I got a shine with one coat on that area of the living room that has no wear and tear after 10 years without a professional job. But the worn-out parts, including a black patina over the light wood floor, yields virtually no shine. I was hoping for a miracle from Pro Shot. My laminate floor is only 5 years old, and I have 1000 sq ft of it, so there is no way I would think of replacing it yet. I have a 3x3 ft square that is soooo scratched from my old computer chair that I never thought it could be saved. The whole floor is so dull from my cleaner''s build-up, I thought nothing could give it life again. But I sit here just amazed! Not a product defect, just something to be aware of: If it is on your floor when you apply this product, it will remain there until you scrape it up, or wear it off.
Overall, I love the product, hopefully the shine lasts a long time! When it is dull again, I will definitely use it again.

The water pressure in my house is fairly high I''ve seen it burst new garden hoses like balloons. Still, this is hard plastic and shouldn''t have problems. The outlet connection on one of the units leaked a little, needed tightening, and the adapter may need replacing. It''d be nice if the threaded interfaces on these things could be brass instead of plastic.

I''m very pleased with this recent replacement kettle.For decades (both in the UK and USA) I have always had a plastic kettle, as I don''t especially like the look of stainless steel appliances. I was never bothered by taste or other effects from using a plastic kettle until my last one started to malfunction. More specifically it would overheat/not shut off and when this happened there was an extreme taste of plastic in the water, which really made me think about leaching from plastic, so I decided to switch to a stainless kettle and I am glad I did.
It''s much harder to find nice electric kettles these days than it used to be. Most of the new ones are complete junk OR extremely expensive gadgets with unnecessary features.
This kettle is solidly made, straighforward and nicely designed. It''s not too heavy when full and pours nicely; it''s not terribly loud when it boils like many kettles are; the lid has a nice smooth opening mechanism; it''s quick; the on/off switch is easy to use and had a nice indicator light. The only feature that could be better is the level indicator it''s hard to see and I don''t think mine works, so I just judge volume by looking inside.
It does require a thorough cleaning before use to get rid of any lingering manufacturing residues. I scrubbed the interior with a paste of baking soda and water, rinsed it out then boiled a pot of white vinegar. After that I boiled (and discarded) about 5 or 6 kettlesfull of water before using and there is no taste or odor in the pot.
I only gave it 4 stars because the volume indicator could be better and the steel surface does show some smudge marks, but otherwise I think it''s a good choice. I did not buy mine through Amazon because I was able to get it cheaper elsewhere with a coupon.

I have an old Aroma kettle that works ok except the filter wore out and it no longer shuts it''s self off so I ordered this kettle as a replacement. Big mistake. I filled it with water and didn''t see any leaks then started it up. I noticed some water coming out of the switch at base of handle. I''m a white boy who married a lovely mainland Chinese woman about ten years ago. Her parents also live with us. They have all been educating me about tea for the last ten years. So I now understand plenty about the proper steeping of Chinese tea. We own a second home in China, and have coincidentally returned only days ago from a two week trip there, where we bought lots of good tea!We own FOUR of these teapots, and have used them for years. This product is quite popular in many areas of China because of the quality of this teapot and how well it steeps tea.
This teapot has an upper reservoir of about one cup capacity, which lowers into the larger body of the teapot. The bottom of the upper reservoir contains a stainless steel ball stop valve. When you press a small button on the top of the teapot, the ball lifts and tea is strained through a fine stainless steel mesh as it drains into the lower reservoir. Then you refill the upper chamber with hot water for the next infusion.
NOTE: everyone I know uses this product only for serving ONE, maybe TWO people; this teapot''s capacity is too small for serving larger groups. Typically, owners use this as a "personal teapot" (at work, or wherever), loading it in the morning and infusing off the same tea all day long. That''s how I use it EVERY day at work.
I strongly recommend this as a personal teapot for steeping LOOSE tea, for these reasons:
1) You can easily increase each successive infusion time (off the same tea as it weakens), to ensure consistent tea intensity: pushing the button quickly vents tea into the lower reservoir, effectively halting the infusion (and fixing the intensity). A glance at the tea color through the transparent reservoir tells you when the intensity is just right.
2) You should always "wash" each new batch of tea leaves, and this teapot is very convenient for that; you simply put the dry tea in and poor hot water into the upper reservoir, swish it through the tea for about 20 or 30 seconds; then vent that directly into the sink to discard that wash water.
3) This product is well designed and quite reliable. Yes, as other reviewers mentioned, it does have a minor design flaw (which is why I lowered the rating to four stars): if you shake this teapot too vigorously while washing it, the stainless steel stopper ball can become slightly jammed. An easy fix to this has never failed me: simply lift up the button (attached to its control rod) about a cm, and then shake the ball back into position. As example of the general quality of the product, the fine mesh strainer is high quality stainless steel because I''ve never seen that mesh rust or discolor. Other Chinese made tea strainers (from different manufacturers) are often seen having rusted mesh strainer after only few months. Also this teapot survived my accidentally dropping it several times (while heavy filled with tea) about four vertical feet onto a hard floor. I was amazed it survived unbroken.
4) It is absolutely true this teapot gets more tea (more infusions) out of each gram of tea, compared to any other teapot. However, keeping in mind those last infusions may easily be 20 minutes steeping time. You yield more tea per load due to the bottom venting ensures the flow of hot water is always down through the tea, also the upper chamber is small so infuses more effectively even when the tea is quite weakened by previous infusions.

Unfortunately, my strainer/infuser stopped working and I have to dismantle it with almost every use. The steel ball keeps going off-track and getting stuck. That is getting really old! The concept is great though the volume could''ve been greater, but the snag comes when they chose to use polycarbonate for the infuser. In theory, it should be able to stand boiling water, but a week after usage, I find the bottom a bit distorted, which then led to seepage of the fluid from the infuser to the pot. Then the steel ball got stuck and the filter started coming off.On the bright side, I can use the pot still.

I tried the Smokestop filter for the Blueair 402 model, but these are the exact same, only different sized to accommodate the larger models. If you have any issue with odors or cigarette smoke, this is the filter to get.I had an extreme situation where there was a methane leak in my neighborhood. The fumes were claimed by authorities to be "safe," but I and many other neighbors suffered from headaches, dizziness and nauseousness. The fumes burned at your eyes and it was pretty unbearable. Well, turns out this was to recur for the next few nights, and with no other place to stay, I invested in a Smokestop filter to temporarily replace my particle filter. It was INCREDIBLE. Immediately, all the fumes in the room were swept up by the Blueair and I was able to spend my time in this room with no health issues. (Whenever I left the room to another part of the house, all the previously mentioned symptoms returned.)
What''s the difference between the Smokestop and the regular particle filter? This filter has a layer of activated charcoal that captures odors, and still has the familiar particle filtering layers, all built into one. Simple concept, and yes, a lot of other air cleaners have charcoal, but this one is specific to the Blueair and it''s unique air-cleaning technology. After my experience with the noxious fumes in my home, I am completely sold on the effectiveness of this product. If you have any odor issues in your home, then spring a little extra dough for these filters. They are well worth the extra bucks.
Plus: it makes the unit run quieter as the carbon filter section actually acts like a sound baffle to block out some of the fan noise. Usually with the regular particle filter, even on low speed for my 650E, I can still hear a whirling fan sound. With this filter, I can hardly hear it and can leave it on low for the whole night. With the regular particle filter version, when the electronic sensor would detect VOCs (volatile organic compounds)/odor, it would kick the fan on high and it would be a long time until the odor is diffused/lessened, for the fan to slow down. With the smokestop filter, the VOC/odor gets reduced in a few minutes and the cleaner does not stay on high for long.
Minus: it reduces the airflow output. The carbon filter section actually restricts airflow quite a bit, I would say more than half the airflow is reduced. However, it still does its job. And of course it costs about twice as much as the regular particle filter.
In my opinion, if your blueair electronic sensor (on the 550E/650E models) detects VOCs/odors more than it detects dust, then this is the filter to get!

I recently returned the Rowenta Pro Compact steamer in exchange for this "commercial" steamer.It certainly is a big improvement. The extra 150 watts of steaming power makes a noticeable difference.
There are several features that make this a wonderful unit. The large 1 gallon water tank is clear and easy to remove and refill. The on/off switch and the automatic cord reel are both foot actuated. There are two onboard accessories bins that keep the attachments from disappearing. The steam is powerful, plentiful and literally rolling out in 60 seconds. Also, the unit is quite sturdy.
Unfortunately, there are a few design flaws and disappointing problems. The two large wheels do not roll on my hardwood floors nor on my carpet. Instead as you drag the machine it leaves a nice trail of marks on the floor. The telescoping handles are not secured into the base of the machine and pull out when you attempt to lift the machine. Also, this unit did not come with a handy plastic brush attachment that the cheaper unit did.
Having said all this, the Rowenta Precision Valet Steamer does a wonderful job of removing stubborn wrinkle quickly and easily.
I was going to buy the same steamer and then I saw this Rowenta Model IS9100 Commercial one and with all the amenities and I decided to buy this and give it a try. After researching "everything" that was out there on clothes steamers, the Rowenta rose to the top of my list for several reasons. The larger water resorvoir which is fabulous! I can steam many more items now without having to stop and refill it...VERY nice feature.
The adjustable handle is also quite nice, allowing me to push it down and slide it out of the way in my laundry room. The efficient and FAST operation of this unit is also very very good. Seems like you don''t even wait a minute or so and you have HOT steam and ready to rock and roll! (As much as you can rock and roll while steaming clothes ;-) Less expensive steamers take 3 to 4 times longer to heat up, so this is a great feature. Also very hot steam...be careful ladies, this is a wonderful feature for getting out those really stubborn wrinkles, but it really smarts if you accidentally get a thumb in the way ;-)
The automatic cord rewind is another great feature. Before with my old steamer I had to wind my cord around and around and around my stand, which usually fell down anyway.
The garment rack on top is also great...just throw your shirt, sweater over the shoulder forms and steam away....then slide your hanger on and hang up...viola...done...kaput....give me the next item to steam. It rolls great and overall this is one top notch steamer.
So, if you are in the market and looking for a solid steamer...you won''t find one better than this! I love mine! (If you couldn''t tell ;-) You really will not find one better. Remember that old saying "You get what you pay for"...well this is worth every cent!

I have to wear business attire to work everyday. I bought this steamer with the hope that I could cut down on my dry-cleaning bill and avoid the chemicals used by dry cleaners by doing my own ironing. I was particularly hoping that I could use this to handle washing and ironing my dress shirts, which become wrinkly after a single use and dirty after a couple wears. I have a regular table iron that I have used for over a decade to iron my clothes, but it simply takes too long to adequately iron a dress shirt. I was hoping this steamer was the answer to my dilemma; unfortunately, it isn''t.The steamer simply cannot handle dress shirts adequately, other than taking out simple creases on the flat areas of the front and back. If you have a freshly washed cotton dress shirt that is nice and wrinkly out of the dryer, look elsewhere for help. And forget about ironing the sleeves; anything other than a minor touch-up and you''ll be disappointed. If you''ve seen the video of the unit on Bed, Bath and Beyond''s website, don''t be fooled (like I was). The unit doesn''t work quite as effectively on dress shirts as the video indicates.
The main issue -as far as I can tell -is that the unit suffers from a design flaw; there is no backboard against which one can press the shirt, so one has to akwardly pull down on the shirt, making it impossible to avoid unintended creasing. Perhaps if there was a clip on the bottom that one could use to keep the shirt stretched out (like the comparable Haan unit), it would be easier to maneuver around some of the tougher parts of the dress shirt, like the sides and sleeves. But because the unit has no such feature, you have to use your off hand to pull the bottom of the shirt so that it is straight enough to be ironed. Not only is this ineffective, but it''s dangerous, as you are constantly at risk of steaming your hand (which I almost did twice on my first try).
To Rowenta''s credit, the steam hose seemed to work well and the pressure of the steam was constant. I tried the unit on some of my dress slacks and suit coats, and it seemed okay for purposes of minor touch-ups as to those items of clothing. But I''m not convinced that this limited usefulness is worth the price tag. Also, I''ve read some reviews in which users complained about the wheels; the wheels are a little sticky, but I did not have major issues with transporting the unit around my apartment (on carpet, rug, or hard-wood floor). Overall, the unit is relatively sturdy, so I wasn''t really worried about tipping the unit over. A minor complaint is that the handle where the hose is supposed to rest is also where hangers are supposed to be placed, so you have to hold on to the hose when taking items on and off.
Bottom line for me: If the unit worked well enough to serve as an adequate substitute for dry-cleaning my dress shirts, I would definitely keep it. But because it doesn''t, I will be returning it. If you don''t need it for dress shirts (other than minor touch-ups), this might not be a bad option for you.

Simply amazing!I was shocked to see the wrinkles disappear from my pants and shirts. I never knew how clothes could be restored so easily. Using an iron never quite got the garment looking perfect. The on/off operating button went kaput after three and a half months of use. My only recourse is to ship it to the closest service station (that would be in Colorado: so convenient that I''m in Minnesota) for a three week wait until they can look at it.Seriously, how much freakin'' research do I have to do before I buy something? Colorado? Three weeks? My boutique can''t wait that long; guess I''ll have to buy another one that has far better customer service than Rowenta.

DeLonghi PAC700T Pinguino Portable Air Conditioner
I purchased the PAC600T (one step below this unit) from Amazon one year ago. When it arrived, I filled the tank with water, inserted it in the unit and my floor was covered with water less than a minute later. Turns out the unit''s plastic base housing was cracked during shipment. Amazon replaced the unit, with the same results for the second unit. At that same time, there must have been lots of returns because Amazon stopped selling the unit. I stepped up to this unit with its slightly higher BTUs and hefty price.The unit arrived fine, no leaks after filling with water, and I used it most of last summer (in a 14'' x 20'' room with average height ceiling). The unit puts out cool, definitely not cold, air. The only way to really use the unit is to get it started when the temperature isn''t too high, then keep it running. I don''t think it would be able to cool a warm room. It simply isn''t overly powerful. That may have to do with the fact that it operates at 110 volt, rather than 220 like many AC units that are built into apartment walls.
The unit has been sitting behind my couch all winter. When I went to use it this year, the removable plastic water tank was cracked. It was emptied at the end of the season and not exposed to excessive temperatures, so I don''t know what that''s about.
I assumed that with the high BTU (and price tag), this would be the unit to use. But I''m going to try one of the less expensive units this year and check out its performance.

I purchased a Pinguino PAC 700T 3 years ago. Rated at 12,000 BTUs, it cools about as well as a 6000 BTU in-window unit. However, at the beginning of this summer season, I find that it no longer cools or dehumidifies air. I found DeLonghi''s central service number (800-322-3848 in case you need it) and asked for my nearest service/repair center. They informed me that they no longer have any repair centers in Massachusetts. They suggested that I take the unit to Hartford, CT, about 2 hours from Boston where I live. Having paid $1300 for this unit just 3 years ago, I expected better service than this. It appears that DeLonghi maybe doesn''t care too much about supporting their products after the sale. I bought the 700 Pinquino A/C unit because of its excellent energy efficiency and quiet operation. I liked the looks too, so many others look so ugly that I would not have them in my livingroom. I have had the unit for two years now, and so far no problems at all. It works great, and is very quiet, and cools my 700sqft room well, although it takes a while when above 90F. The water reservoir lasts about a day before needing refilling. My only complaint is a minor one: The plastic finish is of good quality, but it scratches easily when moving the unit around and you bump into something. If it had some color matching bumper strips or something around its middle section, that might help. I am happy with this unit.
